That night while Christen and Riley were celebrating her pregnancy with their relatives,… Monife sits alone in the hangout sulking and tending to her wounds inflicted to her by Rose, after unsuccessfully trying to frame Riley, The others in the hangout ignore her completely as if she’s a total stranger to them.

This change of circumstances makes her boil and seethe with rage and jealousy, but that’s nothing compared to the rage and displeasure she felt when she found out that Christen was carrying Riley’s child. The thought of losing Christen to Riley made her shout in rage scattering and smashing whatever she sees around her.

The other mystic beings in the hangout stare at her as she behaves like a mad person, Seeing that she wouldn’t stop, They grab hold of her and throw her out of the place.

Monife who felt insulted and humiliated raves and curses them before leaving the place, as she walks alone on the road, she begins to talk to herself.

Monife ➡ Curses! Curses! May Naberius curse that Riley…. So in order to make Christen his for life, he impregnates her to seal their relationship…. Arrrggghhhh…. Thinking about it makes me so angry….. And that Rose… She stands by and allow this filth to alter the bloodline of their family… This is nothing but an abomination.. This is a taboo beyond imagination, I would have reported this to the council but Christen will get involved as well and she will get punished or worse.. I don’t want that, I want her to be safe so that in time when Riley is no more, she and I can be together….. I have to do something about this.. If I can’t have Christen all to myself then no one will especially that Riley.. I must do something about this…… But what am i going to do?

In that moment, Monife stops talking and stands still, she then smiles wickedly and laughs to herself… After that, she teleports herself to somewhere else.

Meanwhile somewhere around outskirts of Ibadan, Satania is hiding and taking refuge in an old abandoned warehouse.. She grumbles and complains realized the body she is currently possessing is about to die out.

Whilst she was doing that, she hears some faint noise making way towards the place she’s in, she becomes alert and quickly hides herself in the shadows waiting for the person to enter, as the noise gets closer and closer, she then thinks of which way to attack or protect her then suddenly, She sees Christen inside the room, she smiles and comes out of her hiding place.

Satania ➡ Christen… You scared the life out of me… I wasn’t expecting you.. How did you find me?

.

Monife ➡ It doesn’t matter, in fact I’m here for something else… First of all, I’m not Christen.. This is just a disguise.. Let me show you.

.

Satania watches in shock as Christen morphs back into Monife, she stares at her intently and then asks who she is.

.

Satania ➡ What’s the meaning of this? Who are you?

.

Monife ➡ My name is Monife.. A shape shifting witch.. I’ve been assigned to spy on you..

.

Satania ➡ So where is the real Christen?

.

Monife ➡ She’s somewhere else and trust me.. She’s wants nothing to do with you.

.

Satania ➡ What is going on?

.

Monife ➡ I see you haven’t figured it out.. One of your followers is a human spy sent by the witch’s to infiltrate your cult, He’s the one responsible for the fall of your cult and the demise of all your loyal subjects.. You’re all alone now and it’s only a matter of time before they come for you.

Satania ➡ Aren’t you one of them? Why are you telling me this? Why betray your companions..

.

Monife ➡ (laughs) Companions!? No.. They’re not my companions.. I only agreed to this because of one thing and this was Christen.. Now I realized I’m just been used as a puppet and I won’t allow that.

Satania ➡ What do you want? I’m sure there’s a reason behind this your betrayal.

.

Monife ➡ It’s not about what I want, it’s both what we both want… Revenge! I’m sure you would want Riley to pay for what he’s done and I want him to pay as well for robbing me of my chance to have a future with Christen.

Satania ➡ So that’s his name? So do you want him dead!?

.

Monife ➡ Killing him would be too mercifully, I want to break, humiliate and make him suffer, I’m going to destroy his bond with those he loves especially Christen and I’m going to make him look like an enemy in front of their very eyes.. I’m going to ruin him.

Satania ➡ But first… How sure can I trust you? Because you didn’t seem to bother betraying your former allies?

Monife ➡ Oh you can trust me.. I’m going to help you with your quest. I’m going to get as many vessels as you want, all I want is revenge.. Nothing more.. You can do as you please with the people, I don’t care.

Satania ➡ (smiles) Very well then.. What’s your plan in making this traitor suffer?

Monife ➡ Here’s what I have in mind…….

Life sure gets more intense when a man at a certain stage of his life has to cater and take responsibility of the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, but with love, tolerance and patience, everything will work out fine.

Whenever I think about the level I am right now, I still can’t believe I’m going to start a family with Christen, our wedding date was still yet unfixed but we’ve managed to make preparations for it.. As the days went by, I did the best I could to get money so I could take care of Christen and the baby, The campus was still on strike so I couldn’t sit down and wait until the Government had called off the strike which only God knows when they will.

Rose on her own part had provided truck load of cash to my account insisting that I stayed at home and looked after her sister, It was quite generous of her but I just couldn’t sit down, I’m a man and I have to hustle, so with the money she gave me, I used it start a bigger and better business..Khalid who was hands deep in the business of selling exported cars showed me the in and outs of the business and after a week, I was able to get a hang of it and thanks to Rose’s juju (dark magic), the business was booming, when Khalid saw how well my own business was, he insisted on the both of us partnering up and I agreed. Before long, a lot of people heard about my business, and among them was Timothy, he quickly called me and asked if I could offer a him a spot in my business, though I didn’t involve him in my business, I did however gave him enough money that he could use to start his own business and he was very grateful.

Now that I was earning healthy profits, I decided to pay Christen’s bride price and I was going to do it in a grand style but paying Christens bride price was kind of tricky, In the witch’s custom, they don’t pay bride prices like the way we humans do, instead the Groom engages in some kind of an arranged tournament or test set by the brides family to prove his resolve that he can take care of the needs of his soon to be bride…

And from what I heard the tournament was taken very seriously and was very intense, If the groom loses, then he loses his woman but if he wins, they get to spend three days mating with each other, that is the custom … When I was told about this , I felt some kind of tumor in my stomach.. How else could I possibly engage in something like this? Besides I’m no match against this witches when it comes to physical strength 💪. They would easy tear me apart..

Christen didn’t want me to participate in this but then Aunt Jezebel insisted that it was compulsory and since this tournament was going to take place in front of the family, I had to do it and prove myself.

On the day of the tournament, I went to the church early in the morning to pray to God so that I would be alive when this was over, I can’t afford to die without seeing my unborn child… Christen would go hysterical if I were to die leaving her alone with the unborn baby. As I got into the church I saw the place was empty, so i went in front of the altar, knelt down and began to pray, but it didn’t take long before I got interrupted by Deborah.

Debbie ➡ Good morning Riley… I’m surprised to see you here..

Riley ➡ Yes.. Good morning..

.

Debbie ➡ Where’s Christen? Isn’t she here with you?

.

Riley ➡ No, she’s not.. She’s at home.. and that’s none of your business.

Debbie ➡ Oh, I didn’t mean to offend you, its just that she should be coming too.. She’s a Christian after all.. isn’t she?

Riley ➡ Look leave me alone.. I don’t have your time. (B*tch)

I ignored Debbie and continued praying, I was hoping she’d go away but instead she knelt down close to me and joined me in prayer, I wasn’t expecting this but if she wants to pray, I have no problem with that.

About some minutes, I was finally done, just before I could get up, Debbie surprised me throwing her arms around me planting me with kisses.

Debbie ➡ Stay still lover, and enjoy the moment.

Riley ➡ (shocked) Debbie? Are you mad? This is a church! What has come over you? You have to stop this now..

Debbie ➡ Shush! Nobody is here, we have about an hour before the church session starts. Come on.. F-+-k me while there’s still time.

I couldn’t believe this.. Was this really happening? I gathered my strength and pushed her off me but she quickly grabbed hold of me putting her hands on my p+nis.

Riley ➡ Debbie! This is madness.. Stop this now.. I’m engaged to Christen.. I can’t cheat on her.

.

Debbie ➡ Why are you being so stubborn? Since she isn’t here, let’s do this and enjoy the moment, she doesn’t need to know, what happens here, stays between the two of us..

Riley ➡ NO!!! I won’t cheat on the mother of my unborn child, I’d rather get hit by a train than to f-+-k you.. God forbid. Let go of me or I’ll thrash you mercilessly.

Debbie wouldn’t listen, she was still trying to seduce me, her hands however were making my d+ck hard and erect, before I could give in to her temptations, I slapped her hard across the face and went out of the church.

As I got outside, I entered my car and drove home back to Christen, but on my way there, I got a call from my mother asking me to drop by that she wanted to talk to me about something urgent.

I diverted and drove to my mothers place,.. In about some minutes, I arrived at the house and went in to see what was it she wanted to talk to me about.. As soon as I got in, I saw something I was never hoping to see again.

Here before me, stood the entire witch council together with the Supreme witch Orisaye herself… and behind them was my mother and my brother, they were tied and bounded on the floor like goats.

Before I could make a move, someone hit me from behind knocking me out cold.. Moments later, I was awoken by a jolt of electric shock which surged through my entire body, I’ve never felt pain like this since Rose tortured me decades ago. I could barely think straight after that, I looked around to see where I was, Before I knew what was going on, I felt a deafening punch 👊 on the side of my face, It felt like I was hit by a train. Blood gathered in my mouth and I quickly spat it out, as I looked up again, I saw the council looking at me intently, my mother cried bitterly as she saw how I was treated and my brother shook his head in pity.

WC 1 ➡ So the human dog is finally awake.

.

Riley ➡ What do you want? Why are you doing this?

.

Immediately I asked that, one of the witch council members struck me with a bolt of lightening making me shout in pain, My mother begged for my sake but one of the witch made her mouth disappear making her to be mouth less.

.

WC 2 ➡ You dare ask this question? Aren’t you the dog that chose to cause an imbalance in the natural order? You dare plant your seed in the womb of one of our own kind? Do you have any idea the abomination you’re about to procreate?

.

Riley ➡ There is no abomination! You’re just making this up

.

Orisaye ➡ Silence! Enough of this. Tell me Riley… I appreciate your past endeavors but this is something I will not tolerate… Now tell me.. Where is Christen?

.

It was then I remembered what Aunt Jezebel told me.. The council was here to kill her and my unborn child… I felt relieved that they didn’t know her location, I just hope they don’t read my mind.

Orisaye ➡ Tell me.. Where is she?

.

Riley ➡ What are you going to do if I tell you where is she?

.

Orisaye ➡ She’s going to die of course.. We can’t allow her to give birth to that damned thing inside her.

.

Riley ➡ In that case.. Go f-+-k yourself because I won’t tell.

.

Orisaye ➡ Very well.

.

After that, Orisaye walked over to Lionel and severed his head, I watched in horror as his head rolled before me.. My mother grunted continuously struggling to break free, one of the witch council members slapped her hard across the face making her to fall down.

Riley ➡ Don’t you again touch her again.. I’ll kill you if you do…..

.

Orisaye ➡ Are you now ready to talk? Tell me where is CHRISTEN!? TELL ME! Tell me now or your mother dies next.

.

Riley ➡ Please don’t do this.. Please..

.

Orisaye ➡ Tell me where is she? WHERE IS SHE??

.

I cried profusely not knowing what to do.. I was in the same hot seat as I was decades ago when I was told to chose between Christen and my mother.. God knows I love my mother but Christen is carrying my child and she too has done a lot of me.. I just can’t let these bastards kill her and my child.. No way.. I’d rather die than to let that happen. The decision I’m about to make now would make others think I’m an ungrateful son, but I can’t give up Christen.. I’m never making that mistake ever again.

Orisaye ➡ Are you ready to tell me where she is?

.

Riley ➡ Yes.. She’s safe where you’ll never find her and I will not tell you..

.

Orisaye ➡ Fine.. Just know your mother’s blood is on your hands..

.

Orisaye walked over to my mom and set her blaze, I closed my eyes refusing to watch the horror before me.. I felt so angry that I wish I could kill all this council members.. After my mother was burnt to crisp.. The council members descended upon me.. They tortured me in ways unimaginable, they beat me up, electrocuted me with lightning bolts and cut up my fingers and toes.. The pain was unbearable, but this is a sacrifice I’m willing to take in order to protect my family.

After they were done, Orisaye came before me and kicked me hard in my midsection making me groan in pain.

Orisaye ➡ Look at you! You’re a mess.. All this could have been avoided but you chose to be a stubborn fool.. All of this could end right now, just tell me where Christen is and you’re free to go.

.

I looked at her and spat on her face, She slapped me hard across the face and drew some kind of black mental from her hands, she covered it with some kind of electric current and stabbed it in my chest. I coughed out blood excessively as I felt the electric current surging through my intestines..

.

Riley ➡ Do whatever you want.. I’ll never tell you where Christen is.. You can torture me, beat me or stab me but I’ll never tell.. Do your worst.. Whether you like it or not.. There’s nothing you can do about this.

.

Orisaye ➡ Don’t be so sure.. Even if it takes a thousand years.. I’ll make sure she’s found and she’s going to taste the exact same thing you got.. Now.. You die.

.

Orisaye placed her hands by the side of my head, she whispered some kind of spell and then I felt my body going numb, before I knew what was happening, I was turned into dust.

……….

All my life, I’ve always wondered how I would die, but I never for once thought that this was how I was going to die..

Everything was dark and silent for a moment, then suddenly I began to see a ray of small light, gradually the light began to get bigger and bigger until the darkness was gone completely, I felt some kind of solace and peace, as if I was alive, I began to breath and feel the fresh air 💨.. In that moment, I thought I was in paradise, but then I heard my name been called, as I looked at the direction from where the sound came from, I saw a very beautiful lady staring at me.. I couldn’t see her face clearly because my vision was blurry, the lady called my name again and I felt her touch on my face, within that moment, my visions became clear and I was surprised to see that the beautiful lady was Christen, there was tears in her eyes, I looked at her wondering what the hell was going on.. Did the council get her as well?? Is she also dead? All these questions filled my head.

Riley ➡ Christen.. Where are we?.. Are we in paradise?

.

Rose ➡ (laughs cynically) Paradise!? Look at this one o… Just a short trip to the infinite limbo and you’re talking about paradise.. Wake up my friend.. You’re still in the real world.

.

Christen ➡ Rose!? Enough of this.

.

Riley ➡ Christen!! What’s going on? What are they talking about?..

.

Christen ➡ Relax baby.. I’ll explain it to you later..

.

I wasn’t even listening to what she was saying, I passed out a while after that, Later I woke up and found Christen sleeping next to me, I sat up slowly and looked around.. I was still in the bedroom and I wasn’t wearing the clothes I went to the church with, I was still in my pajamas. Aunt Jezebel appeared before me and unraveled everything that happened to me.

Aunt Jezebel ➡ Riley.. I’m sorry for the pain you had to go through, but I’m glad you’re okay.

.

Riley ➡ What is happening? Please tell me what is going on?

.

Jezebel ➡ I know you’re confused and I know you’ve experienced some unpleasant…

.

Riley ➡ TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON.!!

.

Jezebel ➡ Well you see.. Those things you’ve experienced were never real.. They’re illusions.. I casted a spell on you called the Infinite Limbo, this spell creates an imaginary world like the real one in the subconscious making one think that they’re actually living in the real world.. We had decided to surprise you with the tournament without you knowing and I must say.. That is impressive.

.

I was confused and quiet for a while processing all this… Do this bastards mean that all that pain I went through was a lie? An illusion? Besides what else was an illusion.

.

Riley ➡ So you’re saying even the part where I went to the church was an illusion?

.

Jezebel ➡ Absolutely.. You never left the house at all.

.

Riley ➡ Unbelievable… But why? Why this? Do you know how painful it was, to watch my brother and mother die before my very eyes? I don’t care who you are but you had no right messing with my mind like that.. It was unacceptable.

Jezebel ➡ I’m sorry and I won’t do that again..

Riley ➡ Does Christen know about what I saw?

Jezebel ➡ No.. In fact she was crying and worried when she saw how you were reacting to the spell.

Riley ➡ So what now?

Jezebel ➡ Now Christen is officially yours…

.

In that moment, Christen snuggled on the bed opening her eyes a little, Jezebel excused herself leaving Christen and I alone.. I laid on and kissed her stomach slowly, she smiled and rubbed my head affectionately. I reached out and kissed her lips sensually.

Christen ➡ Hi. ❤

.

Riley ➡ Hi.. You’re awake.

.

Christen ➡ Yes.. You look worried.. Is everything alright?

.

Riley ➡ Yes.. I’m just glad to see you.

.

Christen ➡ When you woke up, you looked surprised and what’s with the paradise question?

.

Riley ➡ It doesn’t matter.. What matters is that you’re safe and I’m here with you.

.

Christen ➡ Come here.. Let me cuddle you. I want to feel your warmth.

.

I crawled over to Christen and slept next to her hugging her tightly. I felt some kind of relief when I felt the warm skin of Christen around my arms. I cuddled her tightly pulling her close to me., she held my hand tightly putting it close to her belly.. Before long we slept peacefully enjoying the peaceful solace.

Hours later in the evening, I woke up and decided to go out and get some fresh air, Christen woke up as well and suggested that I stay with her in bed.

Christen ➡ Come on baby.. This bed is empty without you..

.

Riley ➡ I know.. But I need to get some air.. I won’t be long.. Besides I’m going out to see Khalid.

.

Christen ➡ Okay.. Before you go, take my necklace with you.

.

Riley ➡ Come on.. I’m just going out, I won’t be long.

.

Christen ➡ Either you take it with you or you won’t leave this house at all.

.

Riley ➡Okay.. Give it to me.

.

Christen gave me the necklace 📿, after that I gave her a kiss and left the house.

Minutes later, as I was walking on the street, I felt someone following me from behind, as I turned around I saw Monife standing behind me. I was startled when I saw her.

Riley ➡ Jesus Christ! You almost scared me to death.

.

Monife ➡ Whatever… We have a problem, Satania is on the move.. I know her location.

.

Riley ➡ Seriously? Come on let’s inform Rose and the others…

.

Monife ➡ There isn’t enough time.. Come let me show you the place..

.

Monife came close to me and grabbed my hands and within an instance she teleported us to Satania’s location, as soon as we got there, I saw the place was nothing but a cave, I looked around the place and saw we were in the middle of some thick dense forest.

.

Riley ➡ Where is she?.

.

Monife ➡ She’s inside the cave..

.

Riley ➡ Are you sure?

.

Monife ➡Would I lie? If you don’t believe me then.. fine.

.

I looked at her for a while and then proceeded towards the cave, as I got to the mouth of the cave, I felt a sharp blow behind my back, I fell into the cave groaning in pain, I could swear that my spine was cracked.. In that moment I saw Monife laughing cynically.. Then I realized something wasn’t right.

.

Riley ➡ What is the meaning of this?

.

Monife ➡ Betrayal!

.

Riley ➡ What?

.

Monife ➡ You heard me.. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to get rid of you and you have fallen into my trap.. This is where you die!

.

Riley ➡ Why are you doing this?

.

Monife ➡ Why? I think you know why.. You ruined my chance at Christen when you planted your damned seed in her and now it’s growing.. You’ve finally bonded with her and that’s what pisses me off.. If I can’t have her, then nobody will and that includes you.

.

I felt so angry, I stood up and rushed towards her, I punched her hard but my punch had no effect on her, she laughed and kicked me hard making me fall, immediately I was on the ground, she rushed and grabbed me rising me high up with both her hands and brought me down with all her might onto her knee.

CRACK!!!!!

I shouted in pain as I felt my spine snap in half, I couldn’t feel my legs at all., as I laid on the ground groaning in pain, I remembered the necklace 📿 in my pocket, before I could reach for it.. Monife matched my arm and took out the necklace.

.

Monife ➡ Trying to escape I see?.. Well that won’t be happening.

.

She rolled her arm and threw the necklace so far away, so that I won’t be able to find it. After that, she grabbed both my arm joints and broke it. The pain was so immense, I couldn’t even feel my body anymore. Monife laughed and stood over me.

.

Monife ➡ Now! You’re completely immobilized, there’s no way for you to go, and there’s no one to help you.. This is where you will die and rot.. Don’t worry.. Christen won’t be alone and I’ll be sure to take care of your child.. (Laughs) Enjoy your last days in this cave.

.

After that Monife disappeared leaving me in a state of shock, i couldn’t even think straight!.. All I could do was shout in agony feeling bitterness in my heart..

Monife is now working with Satania and if I’m guessing right, she’s going to use my identity and sabotage my relationship with Christen and her relatives.. I need to find a way out of here but how?

Some say marriage 💍 or having a child is the best thing that could ever happen to a man but still not every man can handle the pressure and consequences that comes with it. The moment I found out Christen was pregnant, I knew I was in for a long bumpy ride and because of that there are two things I needed the most which were tolerance and patience. Women to be honest are troublesome and nerve wrecking creatures and one has to be both tolerant and patience with them, being with an ordinary woman is trouble enough but a witch that’s a whole different level.

Ever since she announced she was pregnant, Christen has been given me a hard time, she was bossy, pushy and and worst of all arrogant.. Though the baby bump hasn’t yet shown Christen insisted on enjoying herself and relaxing, what surprised me was instead of getting chubbier or having signs of pregnancy like other women do, she gets more younger, lovelier, and attractive everyday plus her body gets more and more seductive and luscious whenever I see her, I was hoping to get laid with her but Christen never allows me to make love to her, I could kiss and touch but when it comes to sex, that’s a no entry zone. I tolerated all this and endured her bullshit.

As if that wasn’t enough, Christen started getting a little bit disturbing, a week after I found out she was expecting, She insisted that I leave my house and come to hers and stay, she claimed that she was defenseless and needed a man to protect her and the baby.. I knew she was just messing with me cause she could handle a regiment of soldiers without breaking a sweat.. So eventually, I moved in to her house but that wasn’t enough, Clinging on to her pregnancy, she made me do the entire house work, I would sweep, clean, and wash, Hell in the end, I became a house boy,.. Even when we went to shop for yoghurt milks and honey jars in supermarkets, I was left to carry everything , but despite all that, she still gave me my respect as a Fiancee.

But the real drama starts whenever we both sleep together in bed, sometimes in the middle of the night around 1:00 am, Christen would wake me up and tell me that she was hungry and in need of food.

Christen ➡ Honey… Wake up!

.

Riley ➡ Huh??? What’s wrong?

.

Christen ➡ I’m hungry…

.

Riley ➡ Now? But you just drank 5 bottles of milk and 2 jars of honey..

.

Christen ➡ I’m still hungry, besides you know I’m eating for two now..

.

Riley ➡ Okay.. What do you want?

.

Christen ➡ Milk.

.

Riley ➡ Okay.. Let me go get it for you.

.

I left the bed staggering with sleep in my eyes as I walked to the kitchen, as soon as I got there, I opened the fridge and brought out the chilled L and Z milk and then I took a cup and went back to the bedroom.

As soon as I got in, I got the surprise of my life, just as I was about to serve Christen the milk, I saw her frowning and mumbling.

Riley ➡ What’s wrong?.. Don’t you like the milk again?

.

Christen ➡ No.. It’s just that I don’t want this one.. I want the ones that the fulani women used to sell.

.

Riley ➡ You mean *Fura and nono*

.

Christen ➡ Yes. I want that.. Out and get it for me..

.

I stood bewildered and shocked… Was this b*tch for real?…. How does she expect me to find those fulani women not to talk of even the milk drink itself.

.

Riley ➡ Are you really serious right now? It’s 1:00 am.. WHERE IN THE WORLD DO YOU EXPECT ME TO GET FURA DA NONO?

Christen ➡ Are you raising your voice at me?

.

Riley ➡ I’m sorry.. Please Christen.. Try to understand.. I can’t find that drink tonight.. Why don’t you leave tomorrow morning huh?

.

Christen ➡ No. I want it now..

.

I knew she wouldn’t change her mind so I took my car keys and left the house that night in search for those fulani milk drinks.. I drove through the streets of Ibadan hoping to see at least one fulani milk maid but there was none, I was even annoyed by all this.. Christen is a witch, she could just get it easily without bothering me… God I just hope she stops all this wahala of hers. In that moment, I decided to call Khalid to see if he knew where I could get the fulani yoghurt.

Riley ➡ Hello Khalid.

All I could do was watch and shake my head in pity.. Police men and their wahala, now look at what they’ve caused for themselves, besides what were they doing by this time of the night?

After that, we got into the car and continued our ride to Oyo, after hours of frantic search, Christen was no where to be found, we finally rode back to Ibadan and converged at the hangout. Even there others that helped us search for Christen said she was nowhere to be found.

After that, The girl, the cat, and the writing vanished like thin air… I began to think about what the girl wrote and then i figured it out… I ran as fast as I could into the forest, heading straight to the iroko tree, Why didn’t I think of it sooner? The Iroko tree was the one place that I forgot to check and it was the place Christen loves to hang out.

Minutes later as I arrived at the place, I looked around the place but I couldn’t find her, as I looked up at the tree branches, I saw her high up standing on one of the branches.. I felt relieved when I saw her, she wasn’t even sleeping, she was just sitting down staring onto the view.

I called out to her but she didn’t answer, I called out to her again but she still didn’t answer, when I called for the third time, she looked down and stares at me, she still didn’t say anything.

But before I could do that, thorns began to pop out of the tree and before long the whole tree was covered in thorns except where Christen sat.. I stared at the horns and wondered why she was behaving like this.. Well if she thinks that’s going to stop me.. She’s going. I prayed silently in my mind and began to climb the tree.

Some say marriage 💍 or having a child is the best thing that could ever happen to a man but still not every man can handle the pressure and consequences that comes with it. The moment I found out Christen was pregnant, I knew I was in for a long bumpy ride and because of that there are two things I needed the most which were tolerance and patience. Women to be honest are troublesome and nerve wrecking creatures and one has to be both tolerant and patience with them, being with an ordinary woman is trouble enough but a witch that’s a whole different level.

Ever since she announced she was pregnant, Christen has been given me a hard time, she was bossy, pushy and and worst of all arrogant.. Though the baby bump hasn’t yet shown Christen insisted on enjoying herself and relaxing, what surprised me was instead of getting chubbier or having signs of pregnancy like other women do, she gets more younger, lovelier, and attractive everyday plus her body gets more and more seductive and luscious whenever I see her, I was hoping to get laid with her but Christen never allows me to make love to her, I could kiss and touch but when it comes to sex, that’s a no entry zone. I tolerated all this and endured her bullshit.

As if that wasn’t enough, Christen started getting a little bit disturbing, a week after I found out she was expecting, She insisted that I leave my house and come to hers and stay, she claimed that she was defenseless and needed a man to protect her and the baby.. Before I knew what was happening, Jenny called for the attention for everyone in the place and told them about the situation.

Jenny ➡ Listen up guys… Riley here is looking for Christen.. We need to help him find her.

Ghoul ➡ And why should we do that?

Jenny ➡ Because if anything happens to her, You all know what Rose will do to us..

Everyone kept quiet after that! They looked at each other as if they had heard a death sentence.

Witch ➡ But we’re not responsible for her disappearance..

Ghoul ➡ Yes

Mermaid ➡ It’s not fair.. She can’t harm us for something we didn’t do.

Riley ➡ Look everyone please.. I’m begging you to help me find her…

Monife ➡ Why should we?

I quickly turned to the direction from where the voice came from and saw it was Monife, she was sitting down having a cup of human blood.

Riley ➡ What did you just say?

Monife ➡ I said why should we? After all, you’re her fiance, her lover, her man.. You should have control over her and know her every move. Maybe she’s not gone, maybe there’s something you did to her.

Ghoul ➡ What are you talking about?

Monife ➡ What I’m saying is.. He’s a human and you all know humans are deceptive.. Maybe she isn’t gone, cause I know her, she wouldn’t leave your side for a second, I think there’s something you did to her.

Riley ➡ Are you saying I’m responsible for her disappearance?

Monife ➡ Of course.

The moment she said that, everyone turned around and stared at me suspiciously, then they began to mumble.. I knew what Monife was planning but how could I talk my way out and convince this horrific beings otherwise, but then suddenly Jenny took a a stand for me.

Jenny ➡ Alright, that’s enough! This is nothing but nonsense.. Monife.. You’re nothing but a trouble maker… Do you really think Riley can hurt christen? He can’t… Though he’s human but I can vouch for him.. Besides he’s not stupid enough to do anything to Christen cause he knows what will follow next.

Monife ➡ Shut your mouth, mammy water b*tch… You know nothing of this sniveling human. He’s not to be trusted.

Just as Monife and Jenny were about to start throwing harsh words at each other, we all heard a loud cynical laugh and a agonizing shout of pain, shortly after that, Rose and her friends came into the place dragging a man behind them, both of the man’s arms was torn apart and his mid-section was bleeding out immensely, as the poor soul kept shouting, Rose walked over to the man’s head and punched through his face, her hands came out from behind his head, she pulled out her hands and brought out his skull together with his brains.. She then threw it towards the direction of the ghouls and they all gathered around it like flies around a dustbin. In that moment, she saw me and was surprised by my presence.

Rose ➡ Riley!? What are you doing here?

Riley ➡ Hi, Rose.. I’m here to get some help.

.

Rose ➡ What for?

Monife ➡ Christen is missing and it’s his fault..

.

I was shocked when Monife said that before I could say anything, Rose smacked me hard across the face making me fly across the room, I fell down hard on the ground moaning in pain.. God.. This b*tch get power.

Everyone stood still watching helpless as Rose made her way towards me.. She came over me and stomped my chest hard pressing her foot harder, I could feel the cracking sound of my ribs as Rose added more pressure to her footing.

Riley ➡ Rose! (gasp) hold on.. Monife is lying.. Let. Me. explain.

Rose ➡ Explain? What did you do to my sister?

Riley ➡ Nothing.. She just left the house all of a sudden..

Rose ➡ Just left that? Why?

Riley ➡ I don’t know.. That’s why I came here to look for her.

Rose ➡ Did you do anything to make her leave the house?

Riley ➡ No. I didn’t… Ahhhh (moans in pain)

Rose ➡ I don’t buy it.. Why are you then so worried that she left the house? Huh? Tell me..

Rose pressed her leg harder on my chest almost bursting through my ribs… I didn’t want to tell her why I was worried but if I don’t, she might end up killing me.

Riley ➡ I was worried because she’s…

Rose ➡ She’s what? Tell me!!!

Riley ➡ Because she’s pregnant!

Rose ➡ WHAT???

Everyone was surprised when I said that… Rose quickly got her foot off my chest and stared at me in astonishment.. I almost laughed when I saw the look on Monife’s face, she certainly wasn’t happy about this.. Rose then raised me up and dusted me, she apologized for everything but I wasn’t going to accept her apology instead I gave her exactly what she gave me.

KAPOOW!!!!!

Everyone gasped in shock when I slapped Rose, even she was taken aback but she didn’t flinch… I really felt good when I slapped her, I’ve been waiting a long time to do this.. She can’t just be beating people anyhow unreasonably, in that moment, I became a legend.

Rose ➡ You b*stard! Do you have any idea what you’ve done?

Riley ➡ Yeah, and I must say.. It felt good.. You had it coming..

Rose ➡ Do you think you can just embarrass me like that and walk away Scott free?

Riley ➡ Well, if you had listened to me first, this wouldn’t have happened.. You should focus your anger on Monife, she’s the architect of all this.

Rose smiled after that and then went over to Monife, when she saw Rose was coming, she attempted to run but she wasn’t fast enough, Rose grabbed hold of her with her shadow magic tangling her in it, as soon as she got close, She gave Monife such a beating that even the devil would feel sorry for her, the terrifying sound of Rose’s punch on Monife’s body made everyone trembled with fear, as soon as she was done with her, Monife’s face was covered in blood and bruised, she was then thrown out like a cockroach.

Satisfied with her brutality, Rose approached me and gave me a hug.

Rose ➡ Congratulations.. I’m sorry I did that to you and I’m going to let you go for that slap but next time you do that again… I will be dining on your corpse.

After that, Rose ordered everyone to leave the place and join hands with us in looking for Christen.. That night, Ibadan was swarming with agents of dark forces, the ghouls blended in the shadows, the witches soared the skies, and the mermaids swam through the rivers around Ibadan, I on the other hand rode in my car together with Rose and a friend of hers.. We rode all over Ibadan looking for Christen but still there was no sign of her, we then decided to drive to Oyo and check the place, as we were driving there, we all began to converse.

Rose ➡ So have you thought of the name of your unborn child?

Riley ➡ Yes.. But it’s a secret.. I won’t tell you.

Rose ➡ I see.. How did you feel when she told you she was expecting?

Riley ➡ I was surprised at first.. But I’m happy.

In that moment, our conversation was interrupted when we were halted by the police standing at the road side, I stopped the car and they came close to us flashing touch lights at us.

Riley ➡ Officers.. How can we help you?

Police man 1 ➡ Wetin you dey do by the time of the night?

.

Riley ➡ Going to my house of course.

.

Police man 2 ➡ Who be this oloshos wey you carry for your car?

Riley ➡ This is my sister in law and her friend.

Police man 1 ➡ Ehn.. Make I see your driving license

Rose ➡ Officer, you’re wasting our time.. Let us pass now.

Riley ➡ Relax Rose.

Police man 1 ➡ Wetin you say.

Rose ➡ I said let us pass..

Police man 2 ➡ I know trust this olosho, oya make una come down, COME DOWN!

Nancy ➡ Are they for real?

Rose ➡ They are.

.

Riley ➡ Please ladies.. Don’t do anything funny.

Police man 1 ➡ Oga, you dey hear so? I say come down..

We all came down from the car and started to search us but Rose wouldn’t let them touch her.

Rose ➡ Don’t you dare touch me, you pig.

.

Police man 1 ➡ You dey crazy ni? Come make I search you.

.

Rose ➡ Over my dead body.. I don’t let second rate beings touch my magnificent body.

Riley ➡ Rose just let them search you.

.

In that moment the other police man came behind Rose and gave her a dirty slap, I knew their lives were forfeit in that moment, as they were busy shouting at her, Rose bare out her nails, grabbed on of the policemen and tore out his throat with ease.. The other one couldn’t even wait, he ran a few pace backwards and aimed his gun at us before he could fire the gun, Rose’s friend got in front of him and dug her right hand in between his chest, pulling out his heart.

All I could do was watch and shake my head in pity.. Police men and their wahala, now look at what they’ve caused for themselves, besides what were they doing by this time of the night?

After that, we got into the car and continued our ride to Oyo, after hours of frantic search, Christen was no where to be found, we finally rode back to Ibadan and converged at the hangout. Even there others that helped us search for Christen said she was nowhere to be found.

Rose ➡ Are you sure she’s not here in Ibadan?

.

Jenny ➡ We’ve searched everywhere but she’s nowhere to be found.

.

Rose ➡ Well, I bet she’s back at home in our world.. Riley you go home and rest.

.

Riley ➡ Okay.. Please if you find her.. Let me know.

.

Rose ➡ Don’t worry.

.

I left the place and rode back home, as soon as I got there, I parked the car and sat on the hood, staring at stars in the sky,.. In that moment, I saw something that made me almost take off.. It was that same little girl with the black cat 🐈, she stood close to the forest and stared at me.

I stood and stared at her as well, just what was she doing here? Is she after me? All this questions filled my mind.

Riley ➡ Why are you following me? Who sent you?

.

The girl stared at me giving me a direct look, the little devil looked so much like Christen in facial appearance.. Even when I asked her, she kept quiet and stared at me, then suddenly, she held out something in her hands showing it to me.. It was the same necklace 📿 as Christen’s, I brought out mine holding it in my hands, after that, she pointed at the necklace and then pointed towards the direction of the forest.. I didn’t understand, so I asked her what she meant.. She frowned a little and then put back the necklace, she then began to make gestures with her fingers as if she was writing something on air, in that moment, Some whitish ray of light showed at the place where she wrote and i saw what she had written.

After that, The girl, the cat, and the writing vanished like thin air… I began to think about what the girl wrote and then i figured it out… I ran as fast as I could into the forest, heading straight to the iroko tree, Why didn’t I think of it sooner? The Iroko tree was the one place that I forgot to check and it was the place Christen loves to hang out.

Minutes later as I arrived at the place, I looked around the place but I couldn’t find her, as I looked up at the tree branches, I saw her high up standing on one of the branches.. I felt relieved when I saw her, she wasn’t even sleeping, she was just sitting down staring onto the view.

Riley ➡ Christen!!!

.

I called out to her but she didn’t answer, I called out to her again but she still didn’t answer, when I called for the third time, she looked down and stares at me, she still didn’t say anything.

.

Riley ➡ Okay.. If you won’t answer me, I’m climbing up.

.

But before I could do that, thorns began to pop out of the tree and before long the whole tree was covered in thorns except where Christen sat.. I stared at the horns and wondered why she was behaving like this.. Well if she thinks that’s going to stop me.. She’s going. I prayed silently in my mind and began to climb the tree.
