    She wrapped her hands around my neck as I lost myself in the wonderland of her dreams.
    I kissed her passionately like my soul depended on it and she gave in to.
    She opened her thigh is I forced my body in between them.
    Her lips were so sweet that I couldn’t dare forget about the taste in a hurry. Everything about her body seems so perfect.
    I used my hands to play over her buttons as I drafted them under her shirt. Her body moved in vibration to the hum and beat of my fingers.
    She allowed her tongue in and out of my mouth as I guess we walked away from the path of kisses.
    In a world of lust, I unbuttoned her shirt faster than I could imagine revealing a Blackburn’s bra waiting to be removed..
    This seems like office romance that I can’t stop.. I removed my lips from her mouth as I stared at her in silence..
    I looked down to the shirt I unbuttoned as I thought of a way to make the buttons go back into their holes.
    I intensively pulled her closer as I slumped my mouth in for another kiss. My mouth playing the piano in a sound of heavenly kiss.
    I gently buttoned up her shirt as I disengaged from the kiss. Time to talk!
    I looked at her as she slowly opened her eyes in surprise.
    There’s this charm she has that wants me to join her body together with mine in a depth of shallow romance.
    “Why did you tell him?”
    I finally found my voice sharply
    “Tell who?”
    She asked in surprise obviously
    “Mr Jang, must you always run your mouth?”
    I asked still standing in that awkward position together with her
    “I didn’t tell him anything”
    She said trying not to meet my gaze but seductively stealing glances
    “What do you think will happen if you continue talking seductively with me”
    I traced my hands to the tip of her skirt
    “Probably another round of office romance which I would like to have, but I didn’t tell Mr Jang anything”
    She removed my hands from the tip of her skirt and placed the on her laps as she rubbed her hands over them
    “You did, don’t lie”
    I calmly said as I couldn’t believe if that voice belonged to me
    “Till the end, you can’t believe me”
    She removed her hands off my own hands
    “Hye Ji ?”
    I called so nicely
    “You can’t trust me and think of what I could do or not”
    She stared at me deeply as a burning sensation ran into me
    “It’s…”
    “It’s fine” She cut me off but continued
    “I’m okay with that”
    She placed her hands on my shoulders as she gently got down from the table making my hands go down.
    She faced me, straightened her skirt and readjusted my tie as I only stared at her.
    She’s the only woman whose hands got to make to hard, hard down and deep here.
    “I’ll see you at home”
    She winked her left eye at me as she dropped my phone and slowly walked out.
    I’m left in confusion now. What I have left for my bride, is it love or lust or I have both?..
    I can’t seem to answer the question..
    I’m still in love with her, only that something isn’t allowing her into my heart.
    I still love Hye Ji but it’s a secret henceforth!

    PARK HYE JI
    I walked out of his office as I stared at my hands. I love Mr Kim so much but I don’t think he does..
    He doesn’t trust me and that hurts so much. He isn’t even in live with me but he plays on my love..
    Gosh!
    I tried walking towards the ladies room but my mind kept drifting to what we just did earlier.
    What if I tempt him till he tries something else?
    Will I accept the Blame?
    I guess not!
    “Hye Ji?”
    I looked back as u saw Mr Lee walking towards me..
    I bowed to him immediately
    “Can we talk?”
    He said as I nodded my head
    I led him towards the company’s cafeteria as we sat together over a cup of coffee
    “Are you doing well with him?”
    He asked at first
    “Even though he’s treating me badly, I’m still okay”
    I smiled as I dropped my coffee
    “He lacks courage Hye Ji”
    He said as I lifted my gaze up
    “Huh?”
    “He loves you but he’s a coward to accept that fact, he’s in love with you”
    He held my hands as he smiled
    “But…”
    I stammered but stopped
    “Do you know his mother is alive?”
    He said as my ears stood up long
    “What! I thought she’s dead”
    I said in exclamation and surprise
    “She’s only missing, she left 10 years ago, she got burnt in a house but we couldn’t find her remains so she’s alive”
    He said as I opened my mouth in bewilderment
    “I can’t believe this!”
    I screamed out
    “You need to that’s why you’re gonna help him out”
    He said still holding my hands
    “Why am I his bride?”
    I asked the question I’ve been trying to ask since
    “You’ll know that if you help him, he needs your help”
    He said holding his coffee and sipping it slowly
    “But..I..”
    “You can do this, you’re the right person”
    He said smiling
    “Mr Lee, he doesn’t believe me anymore”
    I said closing my eyes
    “That’s because he lacks courage to believe you, so will you help him overcome the courage?”
    He asked still smiling
    Tears formed in my eyes as I couldn’t help it. It flowed down stream loosely.
    “I will help him! Am I not his bride? I’ll help him overcome the courage, I’ll help him find his mother, I’ll do everything for him”
    I said still crying
    Mr Lee held my hands
    “It’s okay daughter, you made the right decision, it will be well”
    He whipped the tears off my face as I smiled
    I’m ready to do anything for him
    For the man I truly love and care for
    I’ll do anything for him
    If I have to seduce and tempt him, I’ll do it
    If I have to render my lips,I’ll do that
    If I have to give my body to him, I’ll do it too
    This is the path I chose.
    This is the risk I must bear and I’m ready..

    I sat writing on my bed. Ajumah had said it was surprising how I had made the room mine so quickly .
    A little sanctuary. Fresh pink and white sheets on the bed and framed photographs on the desk.
    Pink curtains on the window blinds, white wardrobe, everything was in order. Pink and white like a typical girl’s room.
    Photographs of my mum and dad, Hyun Jung and I when we graduated from high school, different photographs.
    Everything was always spick and span with the smell of air freshener .
    I had cultivated the act to always call Mrs Na Ajumah and she didn’t dislike the idea either.
    I opened the second page of my diary as I picked up my pen to write:
    ‘Dear Diary, it’s been long since I visited you. Things has been hectic for me. I suddenly got to be the bride to my boss and I’m living in his house. ‘
    I opened the third page as I continued:
    ‘ Jin Ho talked about making Mr Kim crave for me and I’m ready to do that. Nothing is stopping me. I’ll seduce him and I’m starting today. I’ll see you later diary’
    I closed up the diary as I stood up, I was about to enter the bathroom when Ajumah knocked on the door.
    “Come in”
    She entered smiling
    “Dinner is ready”
    She said holding my hands.
    “Okay, is he around?”
    I asked as I meant Mr Kim
    “Yes, dress well”
    She turned as she walked out back.
    I don’t know why but it seems like she’s on my side and I love that.
    I opted to wear a white gown which didn’t even reach a half length. Very tight..
    I grinned widely
    I picked up my phone as I walked downstairs. He was already there eating dinner. I only joined him
    He stared at me as his eyes tore my clothes off me. I smiled to myself.
    Ajumah dished out my food as I started eating immediately
    I looked at him with one eye as he still stole glances at me. The silence became awkward as we watched each other eat.
    My phone rang saving neither me nor him.
    Jin Ho?
    Wow.. I picked up immediately
    “Yes Jin Ho”
    I intentionally mentioned his name as Mr Kim looked up
    “Yes, I’m fine.. Oh tomorrow? Yes, don’t worry. Okay, bye”
    I hang up smiling and expecting him to talk
    And he finally said something
    “You really have no shame, talking to the one who played love on you”
    He said as I looked up
    “Do you know what shame is? Living together with a nan who never trusted me when he claims to love me”
    I said dropping my chopsticks and facing him
    “You stabbed my back first”
    He said calmly and facing me
    “You never bothered to know if I was framed or not”
    I screamed out
    “Look, I don’t know why I’m having this conversation with you, I’m off. Enjoy your meal”
    He stood up as I followed suit.
    I grabbed his arm as he faced me
    “What?”
    He shouted
    “You can’t have this conversation with me right?”
    I asked in anger
    “It’s useless talking like this with you, back off”
    He said grinning
    I turned to his front as I guided as didn’t want him to pass
    “Go ahead!”
    I shouted
    “Move away!”
    He said
    This time I left his arm alone
    “I don’t want too”
    I smiled to him
    “Don’t make me try something crazy”
    He said shaking his head
    “Go on, try it”
    I smiled seductively
    “Hye ji move!”
    He shouted
    “I won’t!”
    I shouted back too. He ain’t the only one who got the voice to shout.
    He got angry as he tried to push me towards the chairs. I got smart enough to drag him along
    Alas!
    I slumped on the chair as he fell on top of me. The force became too much that his lips landed itself on my own lips
    What an accidental kiss!
    He widened his eyes in shock as he immediately removed his lips from mine.
    I pulled him close back as I locked lips with him. He tasted like honey as he didn’t even hesitate to kiss me back.
    The kiss got too tough as he played his tongue in my mouth.
    This is getting interesting.
    He caressed my hair as he got lost in my lips. I tried my best to make him love it.
    He found his hands to the hem of my dress as he played his hands with my thigh.
    He used the other hands to unzip my dress from the back. It became uncontrollable as he made me wet.
    Mr Kim is lost!
    This has to stop today. I’m not going further.
    I pushed him away immediately in pretense. He got the greatest shock of his life!
    “What the hell are you doing?”
    I asked shouting
    “Shouldn’t I ask you that?”
    He asked in surprise
    “What!”
    “You seduced me”
    He said calmly
    “Why should I seduce a crazy jerk like you?”
    I asked as he tried walking away but stopped
    “Zip up”
    He said as he walked towards his room
    Wow.
    What just happened?
    Mr Kim kissed me?
    Oh my gosh!
    It’s working. The plan is working
    I love this!
    Next time it wouldn’t be here, your room is the next and I won’t stop you.
    I’ll tempt you till you try something unpardonable..

    I rushed into my room as I slumped on the bed in horror.
    What happened just now?
    I kissed Hye Ji..
    Jeez..
    I can’t believe this!
    Oh my!
    I rolled desperately on my bed as I heard a knock
    “Mr Kim?”
    Hye Ji?
    What the hell does she want?
    “What?’
    “Your cellphone is with me, can I bring it in?”
    She asked calmly
    “No, never. Not possible. Get away”
    I screamed as I heard her climb the stairs
    She left!
    I don’t know what might happen if she comes in.
    She got me hard!

    Isn’t this a mistake living with her under the same roof?

    She did sign and 2 of the girls there lifted him up and threw him to the floor.
    Gallant: Now stand up there and start walking before i pull this trigger on you

    Junior started forcing himself to stand up and the pains was killing him but he had no choice he continued until the girls bounced on him and started beating him again.

    Cynthia told the Goddess to help her friends to acquire same power.
    Goddess: They can’t have the same power that you do
    Cynthia: Why?
    Goddess: Many things you can’t understand my child but I will give them a similar power to protect them.

    They all rushed into the stream. The Goddess invoked powers into them, within few minutes she was done.

    Goddess: Is done, You girls are now protected from bullet, knife and other sharp object but still subjected to internal Injury except Cynthia.

    They were happy and they all thanked The Goddess.

    Goddess: Don’t be carried away by your powers, Cynthia should be your leader, I know all your hearts are pure, don’t misuse the power for anything, always use it for something right.

    They all thanked her and she asked them to go

    They set out for the journey back home.

    They got to where that heavy wind was blowing and nothing happened again, they still walked till they got to where they heard the roaring of the Lion and still nothing happened.

    They continued walking till they got to that place that Ogeri asked them to take without looking back.

    Ogeri was already there waiting for them.

    Cynthia opened her eyes.
    Cynthia: We have to go home fast

    They all thanked her before they set out the Journey back home.

    They drove back home to Cynthia house.

    Cynthia came down from the car and went into the house but couldn’t see anyone. When one of her neighbours saw her, she came and met Cynthia.

    Cynthia broke down in tears while her friends held her tight and took her inside the car.

    Monica: Where can we find them?

    Cynthia shut her eyes again and searched her mind, within few minutes she opened her eyes.

    They kicked the engine on and drove off towards the place Junior was kept.

    Gallant: Wetin happen?
    Girl1: I don’t know the people that broke into this place empty handed and our bullets were just useless on them.
    Gallant: What? Males or Females?

    Gallant: Didt you see their face?
    Girl1: We didt oo, they used their Handkerchief to cover this face leaving only their eyes.
    Gallant: Gush! Ok later, am coming there now.

    She ended the call.

    Sparkling: Babe, wetin the happen?
    Gallant: I don’t really understand, the girls i kept in charge of that boy just called and told me that group of masked people broke in and released the boy and that bullets were useless on them.
    Sparkling: I don’t believe this, hope they haven’t played smart on us.
    Gallant: How?
    Sparkling: Like hearing the boy out and release him or took some money from him and release him then start saying that group of nonsense.
    Gallant: Hmm, just confused now, lets go there now and confirm.

    They both stood up and went out, Gallant locked her apartment and they jumped into the car and drove off.

    They drove to Agboride and met the gate wide open, They drove in and parked the car while Gallant first came down from the car before Sparkling came down, Gallant walked into the House and met the door of the house pulled out from the wall.

    She went inside and saw her girls there.

    Gallant: What did you say that happened here?
    Girl1: They just came in and only untied the boy and one of them carried him off while others blocked the way and we started shooting at them but the bullets were just useless.

    Sparkling: This is serious, You didt even see any of their face?
    Girl2: We didt see oo, We were so scared because we haven’t seen such.
    Gallant: So they didt touch or harm any of you?
    Girl3: Yes
    Sparkling: That means they only came for the boy.
    Gallant: Yes, don’t worry girls, you girls tried, I will look into this matter.

    She asked them to go home and take some rest.

    They all went their separate ways.

    Gallant: So babe, what do you suggest?
    Sparkling: I don’t even believe all this till now, but if it is true then they is problem.
    Gallant: I must surely get that boy and find out from him, what this means.
    Sparkling: I will advise you to leave the boy for now, since they are this powerful and they didt touch any of our girls that means they won’t come back if we stay off that boy.

    Gallant: Your right, lets just hope first that they won’t come back.
    Sparkling: Should we inform Thunder now?
    Gallant: No oo, not for now, is still under our control.
    Sparkling: Ok, got to be going now (she said looking at her time)

    Sparkling: To see my Future boo, is already few minutes pass the time he normally come to the Lab.

    They went out of the compound with their car.

    Gallant dropped Sparkling infront of the Lab before she drove off back to her lodge.

    Sparkling started walking into the Lab with her heart beating fast.

    She got to the place where the boy normally stay. She sat down very close to where the boy normally stay.

    She looked round but couldn’t find the boy.

    She waited for 20 minutes without any sign of the boy, she got exhausted and was about to go when She saw him coming into the Lab with a frown face.

    I picked up immediately

    He said as he hanged up immediately

    I walked into the office majestically as I saw Mi Rae, Mr Kim and Mr Lee.
    I bowed to them one after the other

    They quickly rushed both of them to the Hospital, The Doctor requested for money before he could start any treatment on them. One man that is very close to their Family agreed to pay in the money and he did a mobile transfer to the Hospital before the treatment started.

    They arrived in their Slaughter room.

    Girl1: Make we do this sharp sharp the comot here
    Girl2: Make we wait for Gallant to come first

    Gallant step into the room and looked at Cynthia

    Gallant: Wow, can’t believe am about to waste you now
    Cynthia didt talk
    Gallant: You aren’t talking?
    Cynthia: Just kill me now because if you don’t, I will make sure you will live and be wishing you are dead.
    Gallant: Look at this girl, hahaha

    All of them started laughing at her.
    Gallant: Kill her and cut of her head and bring it along.

    One of the girl brought out a very sharp Dagger. She raised it up and was about to strike when a bullet pieced through her head and she fell down immediately.

    Gallant: Take cover

    5 Masked persons started firing gun at Gallant and their girls while they returned the gun shot.

    Gallant: We aren’t prepared for this so lets run now

    Gallant and her girls ran out from there while the 5 people stopped shooting at them, they went and carried Cynthia along with them.

    Thunder has been trying Gallant line and she’s not picking up, he then called Sparkling and she picked it up.

    Thunder: How far?
    Sparkling: I dey boss, any p?
    Thunder: I have been trying gallant number and she’s not picking up
    Sparkling: She should be back from that Ebonyi state by now, lemme try the line
    Thunder: Ok

    He ended the call while Sparkling started calling Gallant and she picked after the 4th attempt.

    Sparkling: Babe, whatsup nah? You no the pick your call at all
    Gallant: Babe you won’t understand
    Sparkling: What happened? As you are breathing heavily? Where is Cynthia head?
    Gallant: that’s where the problem is coming from
    Sparkling: Wait am coming now by the way where are you?

    She ended the call and quickly prepared some light makeup before she went out and took a keke that dropped her at the Elite lodge and she can also see other girls with Gallant, she paid the keke man before she went over to Gallant.

    Sparkling: Babe, what’s happening this one everyone is breathing like this?
    Gallant: As we were about to slaughter That b—h, we were attacked and they killed one of my girl.
    Sparkling: What!!
    Gallant: Since we weren’t prepared for anything as such I now asked them to retreat and we now ran back here.
    Sparkling: And the car and her body is still there?
    Gallant: Yes, call other group lets join hands together and take her body and bury before someone go there and see it.
    Sparkling: Ok

    She called another 3 groups, and each group has 15 girls, so 45 girls arrived after few minutes and they all matched to the Slaughter room but didt see anyone there but only the dead body and their car still intact.

    Sparkling: This shows that they only came for Cynthia
    Gallant: Is true but she doesn’t belong to any Fraternity.
    Sparkling: Then it must be the Angels
    Gallant: No, is guys not girls
    Sparkling: I hope is not those useless Devils?
    Gallant: Those ones are not in existence again
    Sparkling: Remember there are the only ones that knows about this place
    Gallant: Lets forget about all this talk for later things and do the needful to this dead body.

    They took the body and went over to their burial ground that same night and lighted up a candle each of them and they said some of their slang in sorrow before they covered the grave.

    Gallant: Girls is ok, we would surely find those that are behind this attack and deal with them

    She assured them never to fear cause she’s on the matter, she high their moral small before they all went back to their various hostel and retired for the night.

    The 5 persons reached their apartment and dropped Cynthia on one of the bed and by now Cynthia has passed out due to the stress she has passed through that night.

    Voice1: Hope she will be alright?
    Voice2: Yes, she’s only stressed.
    Voice3: Thank God we arrived on time
    Voice4: Yes is a good thing
    Voice5: Lets allow her to rest now

    They left her there and went out from the room, they locked the room before they went over to another room to pass the night.

    NEXT MORNING

    Cynthia woke up from the bed and she was too surprise to see herself in the bed in a well furnished room. The only thing she can remember is when she head Gallant ask one of the girl to cut of her head and she passed out immediately.

    She walked round the room observing the room, she was still looking round the room when the door to the room opened and Tracy came in.

    Cynthia was surprise to see her, Tracy ran to where she was and they shared a hug.

    Tracy: Please forgive me
    Cynthia: How?
    Tracy: I told them where you went to when they nearly killed our friends.
    Cynthia: Is ok dear

    Cynthia instantly remembered that her mum and brother was shot that night.

    Cynthia: My mum, my brother
    Tracy: What happened to them?
    Cynthia: They were shot that night
    Tracy: What! Lets go now

    Cynthia sprang up. Tracy took her outside and they entered one of the luxurious car outside, Cynthia wasn’t concerned on how Tracy got such car from at that moment.

    They arrived Ebonyi state less than 1:30 minutes.

    They got to Cynthia house. Cynthia ran out from the car and went inside the room but didt see anyone, she came outside and started looking round before one woman came and told her that her mother and brother are in the Hospital.

    They entered the car and drove straight to the hospital, Cynthia and Tracy was directed to were Cynthia mum was admitted.

    She met her mum still struggling with life, she went and knelt down behind her.

    Cynthia: Mum please forgive me, is all my fault please mum
    Mum: (forcing herself to talk) Is ok my Child, just make sure you stay strong, don’t allow anyone to pull you down, You can’t be killed by anyone, You will have to go to my Mother place and ask of Ogeri, tell her that I sent you.
    Don’t feel bad, all will be well my Daughter, Take good care of yourself and also your brother, please promise me one thing!
    Cynthia: What’s that mum? (she answered at the midst of tears)
    Mum: Don’t kill anyone, don’t take any life.
    Cynthia: Ok mum
    Mum: And Lastly don’t let any harm come your brother.
    Cynthia: Ok mum, I promise, just make sure you get better.
    Mum: I will, I bless you my Child, it will always be well with you. I Love you

    She said her last word before she seized breathing.
    Cynthia: Mum stop saying all this words, your scaring me.

    She noticed that her mum is not moving or talking again.

    Tracy noticed what that has happened. She drew close to Cynthia.

    Tracy: Come here, lets go now, she needs to rest.
    Cynthia: She’s not talking again and she’s not looking at me again.
    Tracy: She tired and needs to sleep

    Tracy took Cynthia away before she secretly told one of the Nurse around.

    The Nurse went and called the Doctor and they went and confirmed her dead.

    Cynthia and Tracy were called by the Doctor.

    Cynthia: Doctor, what’s wrong? My mum is not talking to me again?
    Doctor: Calm down dear, please be strong in this I want to tell you
    Cynthia: What’s that?
    Doctor: Ermmm, Am sorry, we lost your mum
    Cynthia: Lost as in, you what? (she asked drawing close to the Doctor, she then held the collar of the Doctor)

    Cynthia: What happened to my mum?
    Doctor: Please take it easy, she’s gone
    Cynthia: No ooo (she held tight the collar)
    Tracy and the Doctor struggled with her before she released the Doctor and fell to the ground and started crying her heart out.

    Her mum was transferred to the mortuary.
    Her brother lost her walking ability due to the effect of the bullet. The Doctor told Cynthia and Tracy that her brother needs to be taken good care of since he won’t be walking ever again.

    10 Days Later

    It was the Burial of Cynthia Mother.
    They carried her from the Ambulance to the place she will be buried, they got they put her down to the grave and Cynthia was asked to pour some sand inside the grave as a sign of respect.

    She took the sand and said

    Cynthia: All my days on Earth you have been my back bone, my everything, The only Lady I have looked up to. You have been my God on Earth. Am so sad that is because of me you are gone so soon. As for the promise I made to you, I will keep it but as for those that did this to you, They will pay dearly that’s a promise am making to you my Dear beloved Mother, My Hope, My sunshine, The only Mother I had. Go well.

    She said all this and dropped the sand inside the grave, They made way for Junior that was sitting on his wheelchair and he cried and cried before he was given some sand and he threw it inside the grave. Cynthia came and took him away.

    Tracy and her roomies remained with Cynthia inside her room and visitors started coming to drove their own donation and sympathy.

    Within 1 hour, everywhere was quiet.
    Cynthia: Aren’t you girls going?
    Tracy: We will sleep here.
    Cynthia: Thanks alot girls.
    Mary: No need Love

    2 DAYS LATER

    Cynthia and her friends set out to the journey to see the Ogeri, Cynthia left Junior to their Neighbours care

    The mood was a sad one- the witches were mourning. Its been a week since the death of Lisa and the witches that died with her. Lisa was the seventeenth leader of the coven that had died trying to fight the vampires and reclaiming the city back.

    It was the fifth day of her burial rites. The witches had incinerate her body and had use half of her ash for a concocted spell.

    Austin had brought her body and the rest of the witches to the sacred ground. He knew it would be easier for her to be found that way.

    He stood metre away from the scared ground and watched the witches cried- He saw her daughter, Freya, crying and screaming. Austin felt pity for her- she was the only lady he had loved so dearly. She was different: the way she smiles was great, the freckle at the right side of her cheek makes him giggle. He had fallen in love with her….. But now that she is gone- its all in the past.

    The remaining ask of Lisa was kept in a jar and placed in a tomb at the cemetery. Austin was there although the five days of the burial rite. He had watched from afar- he was emotionally down.

    Amy was Lisa second in command. She stepped up to perform the burial rite. Witches form all cardinals of the world were also present. The witches are morning not just the passing of a coven leader but also- a northern witch.

    The northern witch are the strongest of all cardinal witches and their ability to resist compelling was a great ability they only possess among the witches.

    So on the fifth day, unification spell was casted. A spell for unifying her soul with the ancestor. Her soul was accepted and her spirit flew in the sky.

    “The burial rite is over. A great sister had unite with the ancestor. Her soul is now resting with the ancestor” Amy said

    “I would like to avenge my mother death- to destroy the vampires and reclaim what was rightfully ours” Freya said in anger

    “We all understand your pain and anguish- the vampires ain’t an easy opponent to defeat. They are stronger everyday” Mistress of the south said

    Leah held Freya hand. She gave her a consolation look- she wasn’t the only one that had lost someone, she had lost a sister- her companion- her guidance in time of trouble.

    “I support Freya. The witches have to step up- we shouldn’t be scared of the vampires. They were ones beneath us- and we can make them beneath us again” Leah said

    Amy gave Leah a disgusting look. Leah should have known better- the vampires ain’t an easy opponent. Since they had usurp the city, they have been so unstoppable. They had been so difficult to control- their branches had spread everywhere and their root has gone beyond the city alone.

    “Leah- you of all people should know this. The vampires ain’t an opponent you can fight without a strategy” Amy protested

    “But we can’t just sit and watch them treat us like a slaves- we can’t keep hiding in fear- am tired of all this” Leah screamed “-same mistake Lisa made that brought her downfall”

    The word had gone out before Leah could control himself. She shouldn’t have said such- At least not at her sister burial rite but her anger was her weakness. She had let it out before she could think otherwise.

    Everyone gave her a disgusting look,  Freya let loose her grip. Leah was given a scornful look. It was like she is the weed among them- the unwanted one. The only one against the ancestor legacy….. The spy!

    “We should let every issue slide and elect a new leader” mistress of the east said

    “Yes, it is time for a new coven leader…. Without a leader, a coven can’t progress” a witch said

    “I will recommend Amy- she already know the in and out of things”  another witch echoed

    “I support that too-“

    It was like the witches had come to a conclusion. They are all in support of Amy taking over. Leah stood among the numerous being the only odd one. She also had her plans-  a plan to make the witches firm. She was sick and tired of the legacy the witches follows. The legacy that hasn’t been of favour to the witches- the legacy that had made them so powerless.

    “I thought the ancestor choose whosoever the next leader will be?” Leah protested

    “Since majority wants Amy – then our voices are the ancestor voice” a witch said

    “Our voice??? Am sorry! Who is our?” Leah asked in discontent

    “We- the coven witches”

    Leah forced a disgusting smile… She just couldn’t help it. No wonder the witches hasn’t progressed, No wonder the witches are still second to the vampires. The witches are bunch of different people with different mind set. Their thoughts- view- plans- are all different. There ain’t love among them- the witches are just set of selfish and self-centered people who claims all they do are for the betterment of the coven.

    “Am interested in being a coven leader” Leah finally spit out

    “You? Leah- the evil witch” the mistress of the south protested

    “Evil witch!” Leah guffawed “let the ancestor decide our fate”

    “Since Amy already as an opponent, we leave it to the hands of the ancestors” a witch said

    “Then let the preparation begin” Amy said

    I held my belly again not able to believe that I was finally going to hold my own child, I had been sick the last thirty days and I was convinced that it’s because I had witnessed Chimuka murder the vice president. I took a bold step the previous week and was told that I was five weeks up. Five months since my husband discovered that his tea had been drugged for I don’t know how long, five months since I started living in fear and along the way I guess the drug must have lost its strength because how then can you explain my being pregnant.

    I kept debating if at all I should let Justin know or maybe keep it to myself, we had by all means avoided the President and I had finally resigned because I did not want anything to do with the state after all the secrets I had discovered along the way.

    ‘You have been lost in thought.’ I heard Justin say

    ‘Well hai, I did not hear you come in.’ I told him as I pulled on my Jersey

    ‘How are you feeling?’ he asked as he came to kiss my cheek

    ‘I am good thank you, how was work?’ I asked him

    ‘It was the same.’ He answered with a sadness

    ‘What exactly is happening to you?’ I asked him

    Justin had been acting strange of late, despite the fact that we were trying to patch things up I knew that he was not the same. And I was really getting worried

    ‘It’s nothing baby, I don’t want to worry you.’ He told me

    There was a silence between us, we were both in our own world, I guess what happened to the vice president was hard on the both of us.

    ‘Kindly come to my office.’ I said before dropping the phone

    She walked in as soon as possible, she looked scared. I had instilled fear in almost everyone I worked with because Wane’s death had been hard to accept.

    ‘I have been calling Justin’s phones and they keep taking me straight to voice mail, I have not seen him in here. What the hell is happening around this place?’ I asked furiously

    ‘Sir I thought you read your mails.’ She responded
    ‘What do my mails have to do with his reporting for work?’ I asked pacing around my office

    ‘Mr Kunda resigned a week ago, I forwarded the emails.’ She told me

    I got my laptop and entered the password, it was flooding with mails and it looked like a trash can. I went to my mails and there it was.

    ‘I am sorry to inform you Sir that I can no longer work with your office, it has been a great pleasure serving both you and the Country. I wish you and your office happiness in your future endeavours. Mr Kunda.’

    I grabbed my laptop and threw it to the ground, causing it to crush.

    ‘Get out of my office!’ I ordered

    She rushed out and I was fuming, I grabbed my phone and punched the one number that I had dreaded.

    ‘Well, well. What do we have here?’ the voice said at the end of the line

    I kept quite not sure if I had made the right decision by dialling the number

    ‘I need your help.’ I said whilst panting

    ‘Of course you do, otherwise why would you be calling me?’ the voice asked

    ‘I need you to take two people down.’ I said

    ‘Who?’ he asked

    ‘Justin Kunda and Chimuka Hamoonga.’ I responded

    ‘You know how I do my work, I need to know why I am doing what I am doing.’ He said

    ‘I am just settling an old score.’ I responded

    ‘Don’t bullshit me, either you tell me or you can sort it out yourself.’ He said

    ‘The girl took out Wane.’ I responded

    ‘Wane? The late vice President?’ he asked

    ‘Yes.’ I answered

    The man let out an evil laugh

    ‘I thought she was the smartest woman in your office, what happened?’ he asked

    ‘I don’t have to explain myself to you.’ I said the laugh piercing through my heart

    He kept quite

    ‘Make it look like a murder case, burn them to ashes.’ I said

    ‘Wow, someone is becoming evil.’ He said

    ‘I don’t want anything to remain, but make sure to frame his wife; Felicia. I will send you everything you need.’ I said before hanging up the phone
    I watched as Felicia slept, I wish she could find the courage to tell me about her pregnancy. But I had promised myself that I wasn’t going to push her, her gynaecologist had called me the day she did her test to inform me about the pregnancy. I had never been so happy in my life.

    I was disturbed when I received a text from Chimuka asking me to meet her at Stay easy hotel room 04, she sounded like it was an urgent matter. I pecked Feli on the lips and locked up.
    I was out partying when I got a text from Justin asking me to meet him at stay easy hotel room 04, I had not heard from him since we buried the vice president and I guessed it was urgent. I got on the first cab I saw and asked the driver to take me to stay easy hotel, I was there in 10minutes because I had been at Lusaka hotel where my friend was holding a bachelorette party.

    I rushed to the room and found Justin inside pacing up and down with his hands in the pockets.

    ‘What is the problem?’ we both asked at the same time

    ‘Wait what are you talking about?’ I asked him
    He removed his phone and showed me the text, I also removed mine and showed him the text. We looked at each and I knew that we had fallen into the lion’s den.

    ‘Call your wife now.’ I ordered him

    He got his phone and it was not connecting.

    ‘Here try mine.’ I said handing him my phone

    He tried it and it also took him straight to voice mail.

    ‘We need to get out of here.’ I told him

    We were about to leave when the door opened.

    ‘Well look who we have here.’ The person said 

    FROM PROLOGUE
    ‘Mrs. Kunda, can you once again tell us your relationship to the deceased before judgment is passed’, her Lordship asked me.
    I looked at her with my blood shot eyes. I didn’t know what to say to her. I had exhausted all my energy and I didn’t have anything else to say. Either to the jury, the court or the Judge herself.
    ‘Mrs. Kunda, this is your last chance…any last words’, she asked again.
    I stood up from my seat, I could feel all the eyes crawling on me. I could feel the hate and hurt, the pain, the hunger to kill me was intense. Justin’s mum was also in the court room, she came to bid farewell to her son’s surviving widow and coming here today was the only way to avenge her son.
    ‘You can start by telling us your relationship to Mr. Kunda and Ms. Hamonga, both in question are deceased.’
     ‘Thank you Mrs. Kunda, court adjoined to Friday.’ The Judge announced.
     The guards led me to my cell and locked me up. In the three months I had been here, I had cried, prayed, talked to lawyers but all seemed in vain.
    Two days from now my fate would be decided, I loved Justin so much I would never hurt him and I know he would never cheat on me. What was killing me was how he got in that bed with Chimuka, I had so many questions and it seemed to me that he had died with all the answers.
    Justin’s parents had refused to bury his body until they saw to it that I was behind bars; two months of my husband’s body being in the morgue. Now here I am, alone in this cell and at this point am starting to believe that maybe I did kill him.
    When the world is totally against you, even your inner voice sounds like a liar. Maybe I did murder him, or maybe am just going insane.
    DECEPTION…LIES…DEATH
    What do you do when the man you trusted is the one that kills your trust?
    When the government you trust is the one that is rotten.
    Who really killed Justin?

    He was running down the forest like a mad dog who as missed his way home. He ran like he was in a marathon- fear had gripped his eye and he knew death was knocking its way in.

    Lex was been tormented by the werewolf he killed. His eye were glittering like diamond- his neck was still bleeding from the bite of Lex.

    The werewolf pursued him till his breathe became weak. Lex hid himself among the trees. He suddenly heard Adam voice somewhere among the trees. He immediately ran there-

    As Lex saw Adam, sign of relieve appeared on his face. He then approach Adam- who was breaking him.

    “Adam” he called as he approached “that stupid werewolf I bit is still alive” lex continued but there was no response.

    “Adam!!!” He called repeatedly but the creature backing him was still silent.

    Fear sudden began to erupt in Lex again. He summon up courage and turn the creature towards him.

    Yes! He was right; it was Adam- but not the usual Adam, a recantation of Adam with dagger plunged deep down into his chest and blood flowing down his mouth.

    “You did this to me” Adam screamed and he held Lex collar “you bastard- you shouldn’t have killed him”

    Lex was dumb for a second as he watched Adam roughed and shook him mercilessly.

    “Did what? Kill who? Adam I don’t understand” lex said like a dummy

    “The wolf- you shouldn’t have bit him- you shouldn’t have killed him-“

    Lex was now getting the meaning of what was going on. He immediately cut himself loose when Adam voice was becoming thunderous.

    “I was trying to save you” he retorted

    “I don’t need your protection” Adam yelled with his fangs appearing so visible

    Adam tried to bite lex who apparently now seem so powerless. Lex immediately took to his heels. He didn’t understand what was happening. The whole thing look so real- it wasn’t an illusion.

    Lex ran out of the forest and the wolf appeared again- running so fast to catch him. Suddenly a group of humans were down the street celebrating the bishop funeral. Lex immediately ran to their midst and mingle with them. The wolf stood meters away from him, and lex danced with the people to a bar.

    When he reached the front of the bar, he entered. He saw a lot of people in the bar. Some were playing pool- some were dancing- some were making out- while some were drinking themselves to stupor.

    Suddenly, he sighted Cole drinking on the bar. He immediately went to side.

    “Cole” he called

    “Lex! What are you doing here?” Cole asked

    “Thank God you are normal- everyone as been acting weird lately” including Adam.

    “You met Adam? Have been looking for him”

    “Adam ain’t normal- he tried killing me”

    “Killing you? Why will he do such?”

    “Blaming me for the death of that werewolf- whereas I tried to save his ass”

    Suddenly Cole eye began to glow. Lex jerked away immediately, he was very scared of what was happening.

    “You shouldn’t have killed him” Cole voice was hoarse and husky

    “Not again!!” lex said with frustration in his eye. He was tried of been pursued, he was tired of been everyone prey.

    “Cole- are you okay?”  He added, taking a step back.

    Cole suddenly transformed into the werewolf- the same werewolf that as been pursuing Lex. Lex watched the transformation and was amused.

    “What the fuck!” He exclaimed as he tries to run out of the bar.

    A woman suddenly gripped his hand and helped him escape the wolf. He followed the woman like a fool to an isolated building. He was after was leaving all this behind him- the werewolf, his recanted friends….. Everything!

    “Thank you ma” he said as he clutch on his knees and began to pant.

    “Alexander!” The woman called

    Lex lifted his head to see the strange woman- who he recognized instantly from a picture that shared the only memory of her.

    “Mom” he said softly “is that really you? Or some kind of trick- illusion”

    “It is me, my son” Sarah said

    “But you are dead- you died a long time ago”

    Sarah nodded. Yes! She was dead- killed by someone so dear to her. Someone she loved, someone she trusted so well. Sarah just couldn’t hold the tears which as build up in her eyes.

    “I miss you, Alex” she said as she gave him a deep hug. “You shouldn’t be here Alex. This is no place for a child”

    Lex knew this is no place for someone like him- but he wasn’t sure where he was. The whole thing look so real, at first he had thought of it as an illusion…… But he just couldn’t solve it.

    “Mum, I miss you too” he said after a brief thought. He embraced his mother body on himself. He hadn’t felt such before- he grew without a mother, so her touch felt so magical.

    “Who is my father? And who killed you mom?” Lex asked after moment of thinking about it.

    He had always wanted to know who his parent were…. Especially his father- cause a lot of kids in the penthouse had mocked him then…. Calling him different names.

    Sarah paused a while, that question took her a surprise. It was like she wasn’t prepared yet; the question seems very early.

    “Your father……” Sarah thought of what to say, words seems to have ran out of her mouth.

    “Your father……..” She repeated again but lex gave her a suspicious look “…. He is a special man…. A great man- your father is a -“

    She was interrupted by the werewolf growl. He was just steps away from them, he was growling incessantly and was huffing and puffing out cold into the air.

    Sarah stepped up to him. She wrestled him and defeated him. Sarah dusted her hand in signs of ease and triumphant. She went to meet Lex who was so happy to know that his mother was a bad ass vamp.

    “I never knew you are this strong” lex said and Sarah smiled

    “Have been in this game for a very long time before death came” Sarah said with traces of sadness in her voice

    “Speaking of death, who killed you?” Lex asked

    “I seriously don’t want to think about it or how it happened. I was betrayed by someone so dear to my heart- someone I trusted the most, someone who-” Sarah paused, then she began to spit out blood.

    “Mom” lex screamed, as he held his falling mother

    The werewolf had clawed her from behind, so he began to howl.

    “Mom- please open your eye- mom!” Lex screamed

    Instantly lex stood up and fought the werewolf. It was like he had began to restore those lost powers. He flipped to the left and yanked the werewolf over

    His anger had began to cloud his judgement. He wasn’t scared anymore, he wrestled the werewolf and got it injured. So when he about to make his last move, he miscalculated and then got his throat gripped in the process.

    He tried to free himself but couldn’t- he was already losing it, his soul seems to be departing him. He couldn’t feel his feet again- and his body was gradually becoming numb.

    The werewolf  growled and opened his mouth to show  monstrous fangs which he intended using on Lex.

    Lex closed his eye immediately only to feel blood dripping on his lips. He jerked immediately and opened his eyes only to see Michael standing above him holding a dagger and a blood pant.

    “Welcome back to reality, Lex” Michael said with a smile.
