    ALEXANDER POV

I enter the mall to get something and at the same time talking to Richard on the phone.

📞”Yeah, she called me last night, but I was already on the plane and I couldn’t get down”.

📞”I will go and check up on her”.Richard said from the other end of the phone.

📞”Ok, talk to you later”. I was about to hang up the phone when two kids pumped into me making me drop my phone. They raise their faces to me and I was taken aback by their looks

“You!” They spoke and I could see the shock on their faces.

I couldn’t believe the little resemblance between the two kids and me, I felt something strange and I was about to speak when suddenly I saw a boy running towards them calling their names.

“You two scare me, do you know I was looking for you and I thought something bad had happened to you, don’t–“. he paused as he raised his face to me and I could see the surprised look on his face. ” Oh geez!”.

We were all looking at each other speechless, then a young man came to them.

“There you guys are, I was looking for you”. He took the two kids’ hands and walked away with the other following him behind and they were turning their backs to look at me.

” What was that?” I wonder confusedly as I pick up my phone and walk away.

Later in the day, I arrived at my lounge, and I was still taken aback about the two kids, I left for the refrigerator to get a bottle of water and gulped. I sat down still memorizing the look of those adorable kids and I didn’t understand why I was suddenly drawn to them.

      NARRATOR POV

       ••Leonard’s mansion••

Andrew and Adrian were explaining what they saw at the mall to their grandfather and their mother and they seemed not to understand what they were saying.

“We know what we saw, it was the man in our dreams”. Andrew said.

” Yes, they are right, I saw him too, Mom,Grandpa, you needed to see a clear difference, Andrew and Adrian have the same similarity with the man, I was shocked as well”. Gabriel said.

“It doesn’t make sense to me, there are people who can share the same similarity”. Mr.Leonard said.

” You think so, Grandpa?”.Adrian asked.

“I know so, my child”. he said and they sighed tiredly as Victoria was lost in deep thought about what her kids said.

         ••CALIFORNIA STATE ••

          ~~Hospital~~

Elizabeth was ignoring Spike’s calls due to what happened between them that night.

     ••Flashback•••

That same night, after she collapses Spike carries her to the bedroom, and the thought of claiming her ignites his muscles as the potion in the water starts to intoxicate him. The liquid substance contains flibanserin which increases sexual desire and once the person gets intoxicated by the drugs and lays with a woman, he will become hers forever and it also contains magic love potion.

Spike couldn’t control his urge anymore and he started to take off her clothes, Elizabeth finally regained consciousness and she noticed Spike on top of her trying to undo her clothes. She screamed and pushed him off.

” How dare you! Get out of here”. She said angrily squeezing herself on the bed.

“Come on Elizabeth, I love you, don’t push me away, I want you badly “.

” You must be sick in the head, how dare you try to touch me with those filthy hands, are you out of your mind? Don’t you know who I am”.She quarrels.

“I don’t care, please let me have you”. He rushed to her and started placing kisses on her body, Elizabeth was struggling hard with him.

” Let me go you beast!”. She screamed out. “Let me go!”. She struggles hard with him, But Spike overpowers her as he pinned her two hands to the bed and ripped off her clothes. ” No! Someone help me!”. She cried out.

“Am sorry Elizabeth, I love you so much”. He said with his hand still pinned on hers, he started to undo his trousers.

” Spike don’t do this!”. She sobs.” Please!”. She screams as Spike spaces her legs and thrusts inside her drastically.”No!!! Please stop!”. She sobs bitterly as he continues to thrust inside her.

Some minutes later, Elizabeth was crying bitterly on the bed as her clothes were torn into pieces, Spike came to his senses and tried to apologize to her.

” Am sorry, I didn’t mean to do it, you should know I was intoxicated by the potion, please forgive me”. He said feeling regretful.

“Get out! Stay away from me!”. She yelled at him and continued crying.

” Am sorry, just know I will take responsibility for what happened, I love you so much, please don’t hate me, I will come and see you later”. he picked up his clothes and left the room. Elizabeth kept weeping uncontrollably.

    ~~Flashback ends~~

“You beast, I will kill you for this!”. She grunts angrily.

” What are you working on dear?”. He asked as he sat down.

“Am trying to prepare for the party, you know we just have this week to organize everything”.

” But that isn’t your job to do, that’s why I hired an event planner”.

        “You did that already, Dad?”.

” Yes, I don’t want you to be stressed out, you should relax and let the event planner do their work, you can only be a supervisor to them”.

“OK, that will help”. They smiled at each other.

” Time to go to bed”. They stood up and left.

Alex was standing on the balcony and was on the phone with his mother.

📞”Why did you travel all of a sudden?”.Mrs. Stella asked from the other end.

📞”Mom, I have a party here to attend next week and also to relax my mind”.

    📞”When are you returning home?”.

📞”Soon, I will be back before New Year’s Eve”.

    📞”OK, take care of yourself”.

📞” I will Mom, I love you”. He hung up and sighed as he stared at the sky.

Meanwhile, Victoria was having a nightmare, she kept tossing around her bed and then she jerked up trying to catch her breath.

” How dare you touch me!”.She yelled.”Didn’t I warn you to stop following me around? Leave me alone”. She said and turned to leave, but Spike stopped her.

“You can’t get rid of me that easily, I mean we have come a long way”.

” I will, you are nothing but a rapist, you force your way into me and you expect me to forgive you”.

“You know it wasn’t my fault, I was intoxicated, I noticed what I did was because of the potion”.

” And you ruin everything, that potion was meant for Alex and not you”.

“I know and I am deeply sorry, I have learned from my mistake, the spell has been undo. I went to see the seer and she gave me the cure, that’s why I am here to apologize”. he said sincerely.

” Well is too late, I no longer need your services anymore, just stay away from me”.She said and walked away. Spike sighed and stared after her.

Gabriel was in his room talking on the phone with Madison while Andrew and Adrian hid spying on him.

📞”Yeah, so will you come with your family to the party? I would really love it, if you showed up, so we can have enough time for ourselves”. He said smiling and there was a pause.” OK, I will be honored to have you at the party”. he giggles.

“He has really lost it,” Adrian said quietly.

“Quiet, don’t let him hear you”. Andrew said.

📞” I will tell you everything you need to know, but for the question you ask if Mrs. Victoria is my real mom, well, she is not really my biological mom, I will tell you all about it at the party”. he said and continued chatting with her.

“Let’s go before he sees us”. Andrew said and they left.

Bluey and Hades sat opposite each other at the round glass table, their eyes locked like two predators sizing each other up.

Around them, students gathered in a wide circle, their murmurs rising and falling like waves, everyone curious but careful not to stand too close.

The rule was simple, no one interferes, no one cheats.

A student stepped forward, holding a sleek black deck of cards. He bowed slightly before shuffling them, his fingers moving fast and precise.

The sound of the cards snapping together echoed through the hall. Then, he divided the deck into two equal piles and slid one half toward Bluey, the other to Hades.

Bluey leaned back, her arms crossed loosely, a small, nervous smile touching her lips. Hades mirrored her posture, only his smirk was arrogant, dangerous.

“This game is called Death Pair. Each player will draw a card per round. You may look at your cards, but only play one card per round. Once you place it face down, it cannot be changed.”

He paused, glancing at both of them.

“The highest number wins the round. Both cards used are then cancelled, and a point goes to the winner. Player with the highest points after last drawn card wins the game.”

A murmur spread through the spectators.

“Let’s start,” Hades said quietly, his gaze locked on her like a hawk eyeing prey.

They both placed their first card faced down on the table.

Bluey’s fingers trembled slightly as she reached for her card. She flipped it.

    7 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬.

Hades leaned back, a faint, taunting smile on his lips as he slowly turned his own card over.

    𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬.

A collective murmur ran through the hall.

    💬 “He’s toying with her already…”

    💬 “Bluey doesn’t stand a chance.”

Hades’ smile deepened, though there was no amusement in his eyes, only something darker.

“One point for me,” He murmured, his voice low, and cruel.

Bluey swallowed, forcing her trembling hand to steady as they went for the second round.

    She flipped her next card.

    𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬.

Hades’ eyes stayed fixed on her face, not the table, as he flipped his own card—slowly, deliberately.

    𝐀𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬.

    Her breath hitched.

“Two wins in a row,” Hades said softly, eyes burning into hers. “Looks like luck’s on my side.”

The crowd leaned closer, the air thick with silence and tension.

Bluey swallowed, her fingers trembling slightly as they both picked up their next cards.

“Did someone threaten you to stay away from me?” Hades’ voice came, his gaze didn’t leave her face.

“No… I mean… it’s just the right thing to do.”

    Bluey looked down, heart pounding.

“The right thing?” Hades leaned forward, elbows resting on the table. “But I don’t want to stay away from you. I seriously can’t. Let’s just stop this.”

“No. Please.” She shook her head, her voice quivering. “I’m doing this because…”

“Because your parents work for the Sinclairs,” Hades cut in coldly. “And automatically you think your loyalty lies with them?”

“How do you know?”Her eyes widened.

“I know everything about you, Bluey,” Hades said, his voice a low growl that slid right beneath her skin.

    “Every. Single. Thing.”

The student dealer looked between them nervously. “Flip your cards.”

Bluey exhaled shakily and turned hers.

    𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬

Hades turned his — 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬

    Another win for him.

The crowd murmured. Bluey’s hands clenched tighter around her remaining cards, trying not to let him see her falter.

Hades’ lips curled faintly. “You can keep pretending, Bluey. But every move you make tells me you still feel something for me. Deep down, you can’t stay away from me either.”

     “You’re wrong.”Her pulse spiked.

     “Am I?”He smirked.

They reached for their next cards.

Bluey flipped hers — 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬

Hades turned his — 𝐀𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬

The audience gasped softly. Four straight wins.

He leaned back slowly, eyes fixed on her, voice barely above a whisper but heavy enough to drown her.

Minutes later, the tension had thickened like smoke.

The scoreboard flickered on the holographic display: 25 : 25

    A tie.

    One card left each.

The crowd was restless, the air charged with nerves and excitement.

    💬 “I’m so nervous.”

💬 “Who do you think will win?”

    💬 “Someone’s about to get expelled…”

Hades’ grip on his final card tightened. His jaw flexed, his expression unreadable. Throughout this game, he just felt so irritated to be doing this shit with her and she kept pissing him off.

“I…” He began, his voice hoarse, strained. “I wish I never met you.”

Bluey’s chest clenched. She bit her lower lip hard, fighting back the sting in her throat.

“Flip,” The student dealer announced quietly.

Both their hands moved at once.

    The cards hit the table.

    Bluey — 3 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬

    Hades — 2 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬

Gasps rippled through the entire hall.

    💬 “Hades actually lost?”

    💬 “No way…”

    💬 “Lucky f+king her!”

Hades’ body went rigid. His eyes dark and storming. Slowly, he stood, the scrape of his chair echoing through the dead silence.

The students immediately parted, forming a clear path for him to walk through.

The overhead voice echoed through the den:

🔊 Player 090 won the gambling against Player 001. 50 Sigils will be added to your points instead if 10 for beating an Ace level player.

Bluey’s breath trembled. She looked at him,  wanting to say something, anything… but Hades didn’t look back.

    —–

Bluey sat quietly on the bench in the dim hallway, her hands clasped together, her heartbeat still uneven from what had just happened.

Her hair fell over her face, strands sticking to her cheeks from the faint sheen of sweat and tears she wouldn’t admit to.

    “Here.”

She looked up. Zayne stood in front of her, offering a cold bottle of water.

“Thanks,” She murmured, taking it softly.

He watched her for a moment before sitting beside her, elbows resting on his knees.

“You should be happy,” He said finally. “Everything went your way.”

“I know. But I feel… kind of sad.”Bluey twisted the bottle cap and took a sip, staring at the floor.

    “’Cause you’re gonna miss him?”

She turned sharply. Nia was walking toward them with Loci and Natalie, each of them holding drinks from the vending machine.

“Miss him?” Bluey echoed, her voice small.

“It’s obvious,” Nia said, grinning as she sat across from her. “Girl, I still can’t believe he said that. ‘It’s going to kill me if I stay away from you.’ Ugh, I got chills.”

“Maybe…” Natalie began, leaning on the wall with her arms crossed. “Maybe Hades really likes her.”

“It doesn’t matter anymore. I already decided to stay away from him.” Bluey shook her head quickly.

Loci tilted his head, sliding his hands into his pockets.

“But are you serious right now? You actually bet your entire Sigils on him? What if you lost and got expelled?”

     “I knew he…. I knew I wouldn’t loose.”Bluey gave a small, bitter smile.

“You’re so dramatic. You literally beat Hades , the untouchable ace of MIA  and you’re sitting here looking like you lost.” Nia said.

“Maybe I did,” Bluey whispered, more to herself than to them.

Hades, Hugo, and Hyce were approaching the Aces Training Arena.

Hades felt… empty. He didn’t know how to feel.

“Hades, seriously? Why’d you let her win?” Hyce asked, his tone half curious, half frustrated.

“Let her win? How’s that possible?” Hugo shot back, brows furrowing.

Hyce scoffed. “Didn’t you notice? He was deliberately playing out his highest cards first. He’s a pro at these things, and I’m sure he let her win on purpose.”

Hugo stopped walking and stood in front of him. “Hades, is that true?”

“I couldn’t stand her leaving MIA. I was just going to ignore her even if I let her win, but now… I don’t know.”Hades looked away.

“But it’s a game of luck,” Hugo said. “How did you—”

“It’s not luck,” Hades interrupted. His voice was calm but sharp.

“Every card in a deck has a pattern, its edges, its feel, its order. Most people just see faces and numbers, but I see what’s missing. I know which cards have already been played, which ones are still in the deck. I’ve been doing this for years, you should know me by now. I could have beaten her if I wanted to.”

“Then why didn’t you?” Hugo asked.

“Because she put everything on the line. Her sigils, her spot at MIA… everything. I saw the look in her eyes—she wasn’t bluffing. She was ready to lose everything just to prove she didn’t need me.”Hades gave a humorless smile.

He looked away, his tone darkening.

“I didn’t want to crush that part of her. So I let her play it her way. Maybe I wanted her to win… maybe I wanted to see what she’d do once she didn’t have anything to do with me anymore.”

Hyce scoffed lightly, trying to hide his sympathy. “And now?”

Hades exhaled slowly. “Now it feels like I lost something I didn’t even realize I wanted to keep.”

She doesn’t know what will happen to her if she leaves here. Did she really think she was getting out here alive? Hades thought inwardly.

    **

They walked into the Aces Training Arena, the air thick with the scent of sweat and metal.

Morgan was already there, tying her hair into a sleek ponytail while Trevor leaned lazily against a punching bag, twirling a training stick between his fingers.

“Look who showed up,” Trevor smirked. “I heard you lost a game. You broke your own record.”

Hades’s eyes lifted to him, dark and empty. “I am not in the mood, so while I’m being nice—shut that fussy mouth of yours, Trevor.”

Trevor blinked but backed off instantly. Everyone in the room could feel it—the shift in Hades’s energy.

Morgan clapped her hands once to get everyone’s attention.

“Alright, listen up. Before we begin, there’s a little update. Bluey is officially one of my lackeys, which means no one touches her, no one goes near her… except Trevor.”

“Wait—why does that piece of information matter?” Hugo asked, folding his arms.

“Of course it matters. For a certain somebody here.”Morgan’s lips curved.

Her gaze flicked to Hades, who didn’t even look her way. Instead, he pulled off his shirt, revealing the tattoos across his shoulders.

“I’ll be back,” Hades muttered to the instructor, his voice steady but distant. “One of my glove is missing.”

And without waiting for a response, he turned and walked toward the inner room, leaving an uneasy silence behind him.

    ***

Hades stepped into the inner room, the door closing behind him with a heavy thud that echoed through the silence.

The dim light flickered above him, casting shadows across the floor as he leaned against the wall, his jaw tight.

His reflection in the glass cabinet stared back at him—cold, lost, furious.

“How can you make me fall in love with you and break me like this?” He muttered under his breath, his voice rough, trembling with suppressed rage.

He ran a hand through his hair, pacing once before stopping mid-step.

Every muscle in his body felt heavy, his chest burning with something that wasn’t just pain—it was longing and helplessness all tangled together.

He knew if he wanted to, if he truly decided to, no one could stop him from having her. Not the Aces, not MIA, not even Bluey herself.

But the problem was… he didn’t want to force it on her.

So instead, he crouched down slowly, his elbows resting on his knees, his head hanging low. His breath came out shaky, almost a laugh but not quite.

“I hate you, Bluey…” He whispered, his eyes stinging. “I hate you so much.”

But deep down, he knew that every word was a lie.

“Good morning, Madam First Lady!” one of the staff greeted as Iris stepped into the marble-floored lobby, her heels clicking sharply against the surface.

“Madam Iris, welcome!” another said with a respectful bow.

💬 “Madam first lady, so elegant as always.”

    💬 “Does she ever age?”

💬 “She’s getting younger every day.”

💬 “Her aura alone makes the whole place brighter.”

She smiled faintly but didn’t stop. Her security detail opened the double doors leading to the President’s office, and she entered without hesitation.

Behind the mahogany desk, Robert was focused on signing a few official documents, brows furrowed in concentration.

The soft rustle of papers filled the silence until her voice cut through it.

    “Darling.”

He looked up immediately. Iris was already walking toward him, elegance in every step.

Before he could rise, she leaned in and sat on his thighs, pulling her closer as their lips met in a deep, familiar kiss that softened the edges of his day.

“Do you have somewhere to be?” Robert asked, setting his pen aside and leaning back in his chair.

“I’m going to the rural villa today to support the development program,” Iris replied, adjusting her purse strap. “I mean, it’s my program after all.”

“Anthony and Corazon will be there,” Robert reminded her, his tone carrying a hint of concern.

“Are you seriously worried about them?” She chuckled softly. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to pick a fight with anyone, unless they ask for it.”

He sighed, standing up and walking over to her. “Just be careful, darling. I don’t want anything to happen to you, okay?”

“Okay,” She said with a teasing smile. “You’re so sweet and overprotective.”

“Of course I am. I love you so much,” he murmured, brushing a hand down her arm before pressing a kiss to her forehead.

“I’ll be leaving now. Just dropped by to see you,” Iris said, giving him one last smile before heading for the door.

The Penalty Zone was a dark, concrete fortress buried deep beneath the main facility.

The air was thick with dampness, and every sound carried, footsteps, whispers, even the faint drip of water echoing like a slow, cruel countdown.

In one of the narrow cells, Dawn sat curled on the floor. Her eyes were red and swollen, her throat raw from crying.

She had been dragged here hours ago, screaming and begging, until her voice gave out. Now, she just sat, empty, shaking, her breath visible in the freezing air.

The temperature never rose above nine degrees. It was designed that way. To weaken, to punish.

Her singlet and shorts clung to her skin, as she shook due to the colf. Her arms were wrapped tightly around her knees, but the chill sank deep, gnawing at her bones.

Then she heard it—the sound of boots on concrete. Slow. Heavy. Getting closer.

Her head shot up, eyes darting to the bars. The faint light from the corridor stretched across the floor as a tall shadow appeared.

    Hugo.

He unlocked the cell door, the clang echoing down the hall. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” The moment she saw him, something desperate flared inside her.

She stumbled to her feet and ran toward him, her voice breaking.

    “Hugo please—”

The sound of the slap cracked through the silence before she could finish.

Her head snapped to the side, the force slamming her against the metal bars. Pain exploded across her cheek as she gasped, a choked cry slipping past her lips.

For a second everything spun. The cold bit harder.

Dawn’s cheek still burned from the slap, but she swallowed her pain, forcing herself to look up at him. Her lips trembled as she whispered.

     “I’m sorry.”

    Hugo’s expression hardened.

“Who gave you the right to think you can slap me, huh?” His voice cut through the cold air like a blade, sharp and dangerous.

Tears spilled down her face as she took a cautious step closer, her voice breaking.

“I’m sorry,” she repeated, softer this time, trembling. “I love you so much, Hugo. I was angry and heartbroken when you dumped me. I didn’t know what to do.”

Her fingers twisted in the hem of her shorts, desperation written all over her.

“Why, Hugo? Why can’t you love me back? Why do you only see me as a slut?”

Hugo grasped Dawn’s chin firmly, lifting her face to meet his eyes.

“Please, Hugo… love me back.”She pleaded with trembling lips, desperation clear in her voice.

He leaned in slowly and kissed her, his lips finally returning the affection she craved. For a moment, it felt like everything was right.

But then he pulled away, his eyes darkening with disgust as he stared at her.

“Do you want me to take you back?” Hugo asked coldly.

“Yes, Hugo,” Dawn whispered, her voice breaking.

“Face the wall,” Hugo commanded, pulling out his belt.

He gently slid down her training shorts and gave her ass a firm, deliberate spank. His fingers traced along thighs and he dipped it straight into her cunt, a teasing smirk playing on his lips.

“I’m about to punish you, and you’re getting wet?” Hugo said lowly.

A sharp smack from the belt landed on her as$, making her cry out, the sting quickly soothed by his palm as he tenderly rubbed the area.

    Another lash followed.

“F+k, Hugo!” She gasped, a mix of pain and desire in her voice.

“You’re so n+ughty.” He said, spanking her a×s again with his palm.

He spanked her again, palming her cunt as two fingers slipped inside her, moving in and out roughly.

    “Yessss!!”

In that moment, wave after wave of release overtook her, her body trembling as she gave in to the intense sensation washing over her.

Hugo leaned in close to her ear, his voice cold and cutting.

“See my exact reason for not ever going to love you? You’re a cheap-a$s slu+, and I hate it.” With that, he straightened up and walked away, slipping on his belt.

“Go back to your dorm. I already told Hades to cancel your punishment,” He added over his shoulder before leaving the room.

Alone, Dawn whispered bitterly to herself, “Dawn, you’re so stupid.”

It was midday at the large compound, with the Spade and Hearts dorms facing each other.

Trevor lounged back on the bench beside Morgan, Gomez, and Juniper, their relaxed postures masking the tension in the air.

Natasha, Aris, and Bryan walked up, each wearing that familiar smirk of arrogance.

“You sent for us, Morgan?” Natasha asked, folding her arms.

Morgan crossed one leg over the other, her gaze sharp. “Yes. I want you to find Bluey… and drag her here.”

Aris tilted her head slightly, her grin widening. “Just to be sure, you didn’t say bring, you said… drag, right?”

“Exactly,” Morgan replied smoothly. “That’s why I love you three.”

“Say less,” Bryan muttered with a cruel smile, pushing off the wall. “Let’s go.”

The three of them turned and left, their footsteps echoing across the quiet compound.

“So you’re now her new master? I thought Hades was all over her,” Juniper said with a teasing grin, tilting her head toward Morgan.

“All over her, my foot,” Morgan scoffed.

“That stupid poor girl doesn’t know her place. To think she even got the opportunity to study at MIA because of my parents’ money and she has the audacity to talk to my mortal enemy? I’m just getting started with her.”

“So she told Hades to stay away from her, and he actually agreed? Just like that?” Gomez asked, leaning forward.

“What’s Hades gonna do? You all give him too much credit. It’s not like he actually cares about her.”Trevor snorted.

“But a lot of people were saying he indirectly confessed his feelings for her during the gambling den this morning.” Juniper added, eyes glinting with curiosity.

“Indirectly? Hades in love?” Morgan laughed coldly.

“Oh, please. He was probably just playing her. And as expected, he’s already done with her. She really thought getting his attention would protect her from me?”

“So what are you going to do to her?” Gomez asked.

Morgan smirked, resting her chin on her palm. “Just wait and watch.”

Minutes later, Aris and Bryan came dragging Bluey across the courtyard floor—literally.

Her knees scraped against the rough stone, her breath sharp as she struggled to pull free, but their grip was too strong. Natasha followed behind them, smirking with satisfaction.

Bluey had been on her way back to the dorm with Loci, Zayne, and Natalie when they  ambushed her.

Her friends tried to intervene, but everyone knew the rule—no one interfered when the Aces were involved.

They stopped right in front of where Morgan, Trevor, Gomez, and Juniper were lounging.

With one harsh shove, Bryan pushed Bluey forward, and she stumbled to her knees.

“Now that’s how you make an entrance,” Trevor said lazily, leaning back in his seat.

“Long time no see, Bluey,” Morgan cooed, crossing one leg over the other with a cruel smile.

“Morgan, what is all this? What did I do? I already stayed away from Hades like you asked me to,” Bluey stammered, her voice trembling.

“Awwn, is she crying already?” Morgan taunted, tilting her head mockingly.

“I haven’t even started.” She turned to Trevor. “Baby, any suggestions? She looks so fragile right now, like anything could literally kill her.”

“My ideas are way more brutal than yours.”

    Trevor smirked.

“I’ve got an idea,” Gomez cut in, standing with a dark grin.

He reached for Bluey, fisting a handful of her hair and yanking her back roughly, forcing a cry from her lips.

Then, as if bored, he released her and walked back to their table.

Two glass cups sat on a small stool between Morgan and Trevor. Gomez picked them up and, without a word, dropped them.

The glass shattered loudly, shards scattering across the ground—right in the space between Bluey’s knees and where they sat.

“I like this, Gomez,” Morgan purred, grinning. “You’re a bad boy.”

Gomez smiled faintly and sat down again.

“Come here, Bluey…” Morgan said softly, her tone dripping with mock sweetness.

Bluey hesitated, slowly starting to rise…

“On your knees,” Trevor snapped coldly.

    Her body froze.

Students began spilling out of their dorms, leaning over the corridors of Spade and Hearts, their eyes glued to the scene below.

Is she going to walk with her knees on broken glass? Some whispered. Some laughed quietly. Others just stared, waiting.

Down in the middle of the compound, Bluey knelt on the harsh floor, trembling.

Hades and Hyce turned the corner into the dorm grounds, their voices fading the moment the sight hit them.

The crowd instantly straightened. Every student around bowed their heads slightly in respect.

When they lifted their heads again, all eyes darted between Hades and Bluey.

Bluey’s heart stopped. She glanced up at him… just one word from him, one order, and it would all end.

But his face was dead ass cold.

“I thought I told you to do something,” Trevor’s sharp voice cut through the silence.

Bluey flinched and slowly began to move. On her knees, she started crawling forward, her body shaking as shards of glass bit into her knees.

Blood streaks marked every inch she passed. Her palms pressed down for balance, and blood welled up from the cuts instantly.

“Please… please, stop,” She gasped, her voice breaking as tears fell.

    💬 “She’s really doing it?”

💬 “Oh my God, her knees—”

    💬 “Won’t Hades say something?”

💬 “Didn’t she tell him to stay away from her this morning?”

💬 “Yeah, she did. Guess he’s really listening to her.”

Bluey whimpered as she dragged herself forward, the sound of broken glass grinding beneath her echoing across the compound.

Hades’ expression hardened. Hyce glanced at him, his eyes dark with unease.

    Still, Hades said nothing.

Without a word, he turned and started walking toward the entrance of Spades Dorm. Hyce followed silently behind him.

Every student standing there watched in tense silence as Bluey’s blood trailed behind her—while the one person who could have saved her walked away.

    ***

Hades pressed the passcode, the door slid open, and he stepped inside, silence filling the air. Hyce followed him in, slamming the door shut behind them.

“Seriously?!” Hyce’s voice cut through the quiet. “You’re just going to watch them bully her like that? What the hell was that, Hades?”

Hades didn’t answer. He tossed his jacket onto the couch, his expression unreadable as he walked toward the window.

“I thought you liked her,” Hyce continued, frustration rising. “You do, don’t you? Then why—why would you stand there and do nothing?”

Hades turned sharply, his tone cold but calm. “Because that’s what she wanted.”

    Hyce blinked, stunned.

“She told me to stay away. She made it clear she doesn’t want me near her,” Hades said, his voice low, edged with bitterness.

“So I’m respecting that. If she wants to suffer, if she wants to fight her own battles, then she can go ahead.”

“That’s bullshit, Hades. You know she didn’t mean it like that.”Hyce clenched his fists.

“Doesn’t matter what she meant,” Hades said flatly. “She said it and d I’m done being the one chasing after someone who doesn’t want me anymore.”

“You don’t care anymore? Is that what you’re saying?”Hyce scoffed, taking a step closer.

“I care,” Hades snapped, his composure finally cracking. “I care too damn much and that’s exactly the problem.”

He dragged a hand through his hair, his voice breaking slightly.

“If she needs help, she can ask for it. The same way she told me to stay away, she can use her own mouth to say ‘help me.’ Until then, I’m not moving a finger.”

    The air went heavy.

Hyce exhaled slowly, his anger fading into quiet disappointment.

“And what if she doesn’t ask for help, Hades? What if she’s too scared?”

That was it. Something in Hades snapped.

He turned around, eyes burning with a mix of rage and pain, his chest heaving as he shouted,

    “I’M HEARTBROKEN, OKAY?!”

    Hyce froze, silent.

“I’m f+king heartbroken,” Hades repeated, his voice cracking, anger bleeding into exhaustion.

“You think I don’t want to go down there and rip them all apart for touching her? You think I don’t want to? I was ready to give that girl my damn heart, Hyce. Something I’ve never done for anyone!”

He ran a hand through his hair, pacing, his voice trembling with fury.

“But she’s a coward. She’s a crybaby! She let people control her life, let fear eat her alive, and still has the audacity to tell me to stay away like I was the enemy.”

He slammed his hand against the wall.

“Does she really think she’ll survive MIA being that weak?! Her worst mistake was spouting that nonsense to me publicly and having the guts to challenge me to a game.  All she had to do was tell me what the problem was, and she wouldn’t be suffering right now!”

He stopped pacing, his shoulders shaking, the anger in his voice fading to quiet defeat.

“F+k…” He muttered, rubbing his face. “I’m tired, Hyce. Just leave me alone.”

Hyce stood still for a moment, watching Hades sink to the couch, his head buried in his hands.

The Rural Villa was a small, underdeveloped community located on the outskirts of the capital, surrounded by vast farmland and narrow dusty roads.

For years, the people there had struggled with limited access to healthcare, relying on visiting doctors and mobile clinics for help.

But now, thanks to the joint efforts of the First Lady’s office and the Senate’s Health Development Initiative, the construction of a new medical facility was already in progress.

For three days, the Villa Development Program was underway—a project spearheaded by First Lady Iris Villanova.

Teams of doctors, nurses, and volunteers were stationed under large white tents, conducting free health checkups, distributing medication, and registering families for future healthcare benefits.

The atmosphere buzzed with gratitude and excitement.

By mid-afternoon, the sound of applause echoed through the open field as Iris stepped onto the small stage set up near the construction site.

Cameras flashed and residents cheered. She smiled warmly before beginning her speech.

“Good afternoon, everyone,” Iris began, her voice clear and graceful.

“It fills my heart with pride to stand here today not just as your First Lady, but as someone who genuinely cares about the well-being of every citizen in this country. For too long, many of our communities have struggled with basic health needs. No family deserves to suffer because they cannot afford medical care.”

Her words drew approving murmurs from the crowd. She continued,

“This is not just a program; it’s a promise. A promise that every child, every mother, every elder in this community will have access to proper healthcare. I want to see families healthy, strong, and free from the fear of preventable illness. This hospital we are building will stand as a symbol of hope, progress, and compassion.”

The crowd erupted into applause, villagers standing to their feet, many calling out her name in gratitude.

Iris smiled, her poise unshaken, waving gently as the cameras zoomed in on her.

Then,  Anthony took the stage beside her.

“Thank you, Madam First Lady,” he said, glancing at Iris before turning to the residents.

“As your Senator, I am proud to stand alongside this initiative. The medical facility you see being constructed behind us will soon become a fully functional hospital. By the end of this year, you will no longer need to travel hours just to receive proper medical attention. This community deserves care—and we are here to make sure you get it.”

The residents applauded again, some wiping tears, others shouting their thanks. Children waved handmade flags, and elders bowed their heads in appreciation.

Corazon and Anthony moved between the medical tents, helping nurses organize supplies and check patient lists.

Corazon assisted an elderly woman to her seat while Anthony carried a tray of bottled water to the registration table.

Just a few steps away, Iris stood near one of the newly pitched shade canopies, adjusting her scarf as she greeted a group of locals.

That was when a little boy, no older than ten, approached her timidly.

“Madam First Lady,” He said, holding a small velvet box with both hands. “Someone asked me to give you this.”

Iris smiled faintly and took it. “Thank you, sweetheart.”

The boy nodded quickly and darted off into the crowd. Iris watched him disappear before glancing down at the box in her palm.

It was elegantly tied with a thin silver ribbon.

Curious, she untied it and opened the lid.

Inside lay a single red rose, freshly cut, its petals flawless and deep crimson. Her brows furrowed.

“A rose?” she whispered, a hint of unease tightening her chest.

Before she could think further, her phone began to ring. An unknown number flashed across the screen.

She hesitated for a second, then answered.

    “Hello?”

The voice that replied was smooth, hauntingly familiar—deep with a smirk hidden behind every word.

“As expected,” The man said, “….your voice is just as beautiful and sweet to the ear as ever, my love.”

Her eyes widened, her grip on the phone tightening.

“Marco?” Iris breathed, her tone caught between disbelief and warning.

“You still recognize my voice. I like that,” Marco said, low and smug through the line.

“Why wouldn’t I recognize an arrogant voice like yours?” Iris replied, cool as always though her grip tightened on the phone.

“Still feisty as ever,” He purred.

“What do you want from me, Marco?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Marco answered, the smile audible. “I’m still not over you after all these years.”

Iris let out a short, incredulous laugh. “Are you nuts? I am married and I have a son — in case your mentally unstable brain has forgotten.”

There was a quiet beat, then Marco’s tone slid colder.

“I haven’t forgotten. I’ll be back for you soon enough. I can take you with me…or I can simply remove the threats in my way. Your son. Your darling husband.”

Iris’s jaw tightened. She set her shoulders and met his words with ice.

“I would like to see you try, Marco.”

She ended the call without waiting for him to reply, the line cutting off with a polite chirp.

The single rose in her hand suddenly felt heavier than it looked.

She quickly threw the box in a near trashcan and tunred immediately, bumping into Corazon.

“I see Marco is still after you,” Corazon said with a smirk, swirling the wine in her glass.

“Does your husband know that his ex–best friend, the one he stole you from is still communicating with his wife?”

“Corazon, I do not have your time,” Iris replied, her voice cool and dismissive.

“Why not? Isn’t this an interesting topic to talk about?” Corazon pressed, clearly enjoying herself.

“That’s rich coming from you,” Iris said, stepping closer with a composed smile.

“Maybe I should bring up a more interesting topic to talk about.”

Corazon’s smirk faltered as Iris leaned in slightly.

“Does Gael know, that you’re having an affair with Anthony?” Iris continued softly.

Corazon’s hand tightened around her glass, knuckles white.

“Look,” Iris said, voice calm but sharp.

“I honestly don’t give a damn about your sorry-ass family or the del Mundo mess. It’s not in my place to meddle but you keep pushing me, Corazon.”

    “Shut up…” Corazon hissed.

“How about your husband finding out your biggest secret?” Iris leaned closer until her lips nearly brushed Corazon’s ear.

    “That Morgan isn’t his daughter—but Anthony’s.”

“You…” Corazon snapped, shoving Iris lightly, her face drained of color.

Iris chuckled, straightening her blazer. “Don’t worry. I won’t tell on you. Your family drama isn’t worth my time.”

Corazon stood there frozen, trembling with rage.

“Excuse me,” Iris said, glancing at her watch. “But this First Lady has people to attend to.”

She turned and walked out gracefully, heels clicking against the marble floor, leaving Corazon burning in silent fury.

    “Ahh!! That woman!!”

Scarlett almost faints as Liam’s grip  tightens on her shoulder wanting to crush her bone , she trembles as her gaze meets his cold darkened eyes .

       “I-I ”

” Shut up ” he snaps ” how dare you sneak into my company pretending to be an employee, is that how desperate you are for my attention.

She shrinks back at his harsh tone ” I can explain li- ”

” If I hear my name from yours filthy mouth , I’ll cut your tongue off “

Scarlett gasps in shock, his hardened expression told her that he wasn’t joking at all .

” Bae what’s going on” Camilla asks looking lost , it was as if she was watching a movie and they both acted like she wasn’t at their front

Liam walks up to her and hugs her , patting her hair  ” it’s nothing seriously okay , come let me take you to the car ”

She nods feeling butterflies in her stomach, she holds his hand leaning on him .

” Take this lady to my office, make sure she doesn’t leave ” he said to his bodyguards and leaves with Camilla in his arms .

Scarlett watches their retreating figure with teary eyes , they looked so perfect together like they walked right out of k drama .

” Ma’am let’s go ” one of the bodyguards said in his stern voice

She gathers herself, blinking back her tears and follows them.

Outside Camilla enters the car still confused, back in there Liam and that strange girl looked like something she does not want to acknowledge.

” Liam who is that girl to you ? ”

” Don’t worry about that , I’ll call you later ” he said closing the door and the driver zooms off

Back in the office Scarlett was pacing up and down nervously, she has not gathered enough strength to face Liam again … Suddenly bumping into him today is definitely a nightmare

The door opens and Liam enters with a cold aura , it was like the room temperature dropped…. She shrinks back in fear seeing the dark shadows looming over him .

” The cheater finally comes back after four years ” he smirks seating down majestically on his chair

Scarlett folds her fist nervously ” well I — ”

” And the most amazing part is that she sneaked into my company without me knowing”

She gulps ” it’s a misunderstanding” she explains how she landed here

Liam looked at her with raised brows ” so it’s you the COCTO ex CEO recommended to my company uh , well how unfortunate”

” Pls don’t let our personal life interfer with work , I need this job seriously”  she begged

He chuckles dryly ” personal life ?? You betrayed me openly so there’s nothing personal about it ”

” How heartless are you, after cheating on him and trying to pin the pregnancy on me and suddenly shows up after missing for four years asking me for a job in my company ” he said glaring at her , he wanted her to feel the pain that he went through and here is the opportunity

Scarlett bows her head , she has gotten tired of trying to convince everyone that she never cheated.. liam was her first and last lover , she had nobody before and after him so why he suddenly claims that ahe betrayed him is what she couldn’t understand.

” Pls I beg you let me keep this job “

He smirks ” I’m going to make your stay here so miserable that you would wish never stepping your feet here ”

” I will accept everything pls I need this job ” she said trying to ignore the aching in her heart

Liam scoffs, she was really desperate to have this job …. What happened to that child she was trying to pin on him anyway , he scans her from head to toe almost tempted to ask about the baby but he held himself.

” I’m still not  convinced, kneel and beg me ”

She looks at him in shock, he must be joking right … His blank expression told her a huge no

Scarlett bites her lips picturing Aiden’s cute face in her mind  °for my son° she thought and kneels down

” Pls sir I need this job”

He smirks enjoying the view ” very well stand up ”

” Thank you sir ” she said in relief

He lop smiled ” you will continue to work here on one condition… From now on you will be my personal finance employee (direct spokesperson of the department to him ) I’m sure you know what that means …. Relaying my messages to the department and vice versa, your cubicle will be right there *points to the far end of his office* you will resume this new post first thing tomorrow morning, indigo my secretary will fill you in on more information ”

Scarlett looks at him mouth opened in shock, it was already difficult for her to work in the same company with him not to talk of the same office!

      ” Sir I – ”

     ” You’re dismissed ”

     She bows reluctantly and leaves

Liam smirks ” you’ve fallen into my trap Scarlett, I’ll make sure to crush you just like you did to me ”

Back then when they were still lovers , Liam planned on proposing to her against his mother’s wishes … He was madly in love with her then and too blinded to see the hypocrite she was. He almost told her his family generational secret, something his mom didn’t even know about untill she married his dad . This secret revealed the leech Scarlett was , he wanted to tell her before he proposed that’s when she told him , she was pregnant and hell broke loose

Liam sighs pushing thoughts of her far from his mind , he sends for Rylan who enters few moments later

Rylan looks at him puzzled as he felt his accusing and angry stare on him

     “What’s wrong “

” You knew she worked here right ”

Rylan pauses swearing inwardly, that girl failed to keep her promise of  avoiding Liam

” Look I only found out yesterday and I was looking for the perfect time to tell you ” he said smiling nervously

     ” Shut up”

He glares at Liam knowing he wasn’t saying the full truth  ” contact the company engineer to construct a cubicle inside my office right now “

” What are you planning to do with her ” Rylan asks suspicious

       ” Watch and see “

Back at the finance department, Scarlett seat quietly at her cubicle lost in thought she knew that Liam meant everything he said and the thought scares her

Crystal swirls her chair closer , their cubicle were opposite each other …..

” Are you okay scarl , you have been absent minded since ”

      ” It’s nothing serious crystal ”

Crystal nudges her ” come-on, tell me ”

” Well the CEO made me his personal finance employee ” she said sighing

     ” What ! You’re joking right “

The look and Scarlett face told her no

She looks at her confused ” what happened, did you do anything that made him happy? How did you even meet him ”

Scarlett sighs rubbing her forehead ” look crystal that is story for another day , I’ll explain everything to you when the time is right ”

” Okay no problem,  just don’t do anything to make him angry okay … You do not want to see his pysco state ” crystal said patting her shoulder

She was moaning softly her leg was spread wide on the bed while she f+ked herself with a huge dildo , her eyes went to Liam picture and she increased her pace m0@ning shamelessly  muttering his name while she imagined herself being screwed by him .

After reaching her climax she stands up smiling and kisses his photo °i will soon make you mine °

      ” But mom… ”

” Shut up Yvonne, your dad debts just keep on piling up so no room for any stupid spending, if you wanna live rich again get a rich boyfriend like Liam or better still get Liam ” Mary snaps

    The Wolf King’s Omega – Episode 7&8

(Bound by moon, betrayed by fate)

    By Midnight Sparkles

The throne room doors opened for the elders. Kael sat on the high seat, back straight, jaw tight. He already sensed something was wrong.

The eldest elder stepped forward, the one with the carved wolf-staff.

“Alpha Kael Draven,” he said, bowing his head just enough to respect rank, not fear. “The Moonbond has awakened in your walls.”

Kael’s expression didn’t change, but his stomach dropped.

“I did not ask for any bond,” he said, voice sharp. “I do not want it.”

The elder’s gaze hardened. “It is not a thing you choose. It chooses you.”

Kael rose to his feet slowly. The guards nearby stiffened, sensing his temper.

“I don’t care for old tales,” he growled. “The Omega girl is nothing. A stray I brought in out of duty.”

“A stray?” the elder said quietly. “Then why do you feel her presence even now?”

Kael clenched his fists. He did feel something, a tug, faint but real, like a whisper he could almost hear. It angered him. It felt like a trap. Like chains.

“She is a threat,” Kael said. “She brings weakness.”

“Or power,” the elder replied. “The Moonbond is fate’s weapon. But fate cuts both ways.”

Kael stepped down from the throne platform.

“I do not need fate,” he said through clenched teeth. “I make my own path.”

The elder studied him with sad eyes. “Be careful, Alpha. Hatred can bind as tightly as love. One day your heart may burn for what your pride rejects.”

Kael turned away. “Remove the girl if you truly fear her,” he snapped. “Or I will.”

The elder’s voice rose, deep and firm.

“You may break bones, Kael Draven. But you cannot break prophecy.”

Kael’s jaw locked. He wanted to tear fate apart with his teeth.

“She will not be my bond,” he muttered. “I will not let her.”

The elder only sighed. “You can fight her. You can fear her. But you cannot outrun the moon.”

    ***

    Later

Lyra sat alone in her tiny room that night, hugging her knees. Her hands still smelled faintly of soap and herbs. Her muscles ached from work, but her chest ached more from the elder’s words.

She didn’t want to ruin anyone.

She didn’t want to be tied to Kael.

Then why did her chest warm when she thought of him?

She hated it. She hated herself for it.

She pressed her palm over her heart, trying to calm it.

Why him? she thought. Why me?

The moonlight spilled through her small window, soft and silver. It touched her skin like a hand. Her breath hitched. Something inside her stirred, deep and wild.

    Her heartbeat quickened.

Her wolf pushed against her skin, restless.

“Not now,” she whispered, shaking. “Please… not now.”

But the moon didn’t listen. It pulled. It called.

Her chest filled with heat, longing and fear tangled together.

    Find him.

The whisper wasn’t a voice, it was instinct. A need.

Lyra pressed her back against the cold wall, digging her nails into her arms.

“No,” she breathed. “He doesn’t want me. He hates this. I won’t be a burden. I won’t.”

Her eyes burned, but she refused to cry again.

    Not for him.

Yet her wolf whined inside her, pacing, aching, not for love, but for connection.

And far across the castle, though she didn’t know it, Kael lifted his head and scowled at nowhere, feeling an unwelcome tug in his chest, a faint pull toward the west wing.

    He gritted

“Stop,” he muttered at the feeling, as if the bond could hear him. “I will never be ruled by you.”

Lyra curled into herself, shaking, fighting what she didn’t ask for.

Kael fought it like it was war.

    Lyra wasn’t awake.

    But she wasn’t resting either.

She stood without meaning to stand.

Her bare feet stepped onto the cold floor.

Her hand touched the wall for balance.

Her breathing slow, like she was dreaming and walking at the same time.

Her body moved toward the Alpha’s wing, the bond tugging her like a string around her ribs.

She didn’t whisper. She didn’t think.

    She just walked.

    ***

Two guards outside Kael’s chamber snapped to alert when they saw her drifting forward, eyes half-open, lost.

    “Halt,” one barked, stepping forward.

Lyra didn’t hear. She kept walking.

    The guard grabbed her arm.

She blinked, waking like someone pulled her from deep water. Her heart thudded hard, panic sliding into her chest.

    “I… I don’t… I wasn’t…” she stammered, breath shaking.

“Trying to sneak into the Alpha’s room?” the second guard sneered. “Pathetic little Omega.”

    “I wasn’t… I didn’t even know…” Lyra whispered, voice cracking.

Shouts echoed from down the hall as Kael approached, cloak trailing behind him. Ronan followed at his side.

    “What’s happening?” Kael demanded.

The guard shoved Lyra forward. She stumbled to her knees in front of Kael’s boots.

“Caught her trying to enter your chambers, Alpha.”

    Lyra shook her head quickly, terrified. “I swear I wasn’t… I wasn’t awake…I don’t know why…”

Kael’s jaw hardened. His eyes burned with anger.

“You think you can control me through this bond?” His voice was ice. “You think you can crawl your way into my chambers like a desperate thing?”

“No!” Lyra cried softly. “I swear, I don’t want this…”

“Lies,” Serena’s voice chimed from the stairway. She descended slowly, a delighted smile on her lips. “Look how weak she is. Crawling to him already.”

Lyra shook, tears burning behind her eyes, her body too tired to stand.

Kael looked at her like she was poison.

“You shame yourself. And you shame my walls.” His voice cut like steel.

He turned to the guards. “Punish her.”

Gasps echoed down the hall. Even Ronan flinched.

    “Alpha…” Ronan began.

    “Do it,” Kael snapped.

The guards grabbed Lyra’s arms and forced her fully down. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” She didn’t fight, she was shaking too hard, breath short, chest tight like she couldn’t breathe air right.

“Please,” she whispered. “I don’t know why it happened. I didn’t choose this.”

Kael looked down at her. For a second. But pride drowned it.

“Touching my doors without permission is disrespect. You will kneel and learn your place.”

Lyra lowered her head. She didn’t argue. She didn’t move.

She knelt because she had nothing left to stand with.

Her small body trembled as a guard struck her back, not enough to break bone, but enough to bruise, enough to sting, enough to shame.

Serena’s smile widened like a flower blooming in blood.

“She’ll learn,” Serena purred. “Or she’ll break.”

Lyra’s vision blurred. She clenched her teeth but still gasped from the pain. Her wolf whimpered inside her.

Kael watched, face hard as stone as if this punishment protected him instead of crushing her.

When it was done, Lyra barely stayed upright. Her knees shook on the cold stone floor.

    Kael turned away. “Remove her.”

Ronan’s jaw clenched, but he nodded. The guards lifted Lyra by the arms, she couldn’t stand on her own. Her head hung, hair hiding her face.

    Serena’s voice followed her

“Sleep well, little Omega. Your place is lower than dirt.”

    Lyra didn’t answer.

    She couldn’t.

Her legs dragged across the floor as they carried her back. Her vision dimmed. Her fingers curled weakly.

They dropped her on her thin mattress. Someone muttered, “Pathetic,” before the door shut.

    Lyra curled in on herself.

    Her back throbbed.

She whispered into her pillow, voice faint, breaking.

“I didn’t ask for this. I just want to go home.”

Outside, the moon shone through her window.

And the bond, the one she didn’t want pulsed inside her chest.

Enzo’s voice came closer, soothing yet impossibly near. “Relax, Aurora. It’s alright. Just breathe…”
Panic surged through her chest, but her body refused to respond. She could only watch, helpless, as he leaned in, pressing his lips to the sensitive skin of her neck. The heat of his mouth sent a shiver racing down her spine, and a flash of panic and confusion consumed her.
Then he began undressing her… his hands moving with a possessive slowness that made her heart hammer against her ribs.
He pulled the sleek silver gown from her shoulders, the fabric whispering as it slid down her paralyzed arms and pooled at her waist, leaving her bra and her extreme vulnerability exposed to his gaze. She was utterly helpless and unable to pull the gown back up.
His eyes, usually filled with that familiar warm amusement, were now dark with a chilling devotion. He ran the back of his hand slowly down the curve of her jaw, moving a loose strand of hair from her face.
“Aurora, you can’t tell me you don’t know about my likeness for you” he murmured, his breath warm against her ear.
“I have for a very long time, since the first time I saw you. I hated the day you told me you had a crush on Matteo. I hated it”
His fingers tightened slightly on her arm. “I hate the fact that you’re even married to him! You’re mine, Feather”
    He leaned closer.
“My love for you increased the day you came crying in the underground gym because your father compared you to Valentina and called you weak and useless”
That word ‘weak’ snapped something in Aurora’s mind, pulling her back to that day.
    FLASHBACK*
The rough, cold stones of the underground gym felt impossibly far away. Thirteen-year-old Aurora stumbled in, the remnants of her father’s cruel words echoing in the silence.
He had just finished comparing her to her older sister, Valentina, calling Aurora “weak” and “useless” a fragile thing not fit for the Bellanti name.
She sank on the worn leather bench, burying her face in her hands, the sobs escaping her small body in shuddering waves.
Enzo, then fourteen and already her personal driver, was silently practicing blade forms in the corner. He stopped instantly when he heard her cry. He’d been working for the family since he was just a boy, but he had never seen the Boss’s daughter cry like this.
He cautiously approached her, his own movements quiet.
“Hey, Rory,” he whispered, his voice uncharacteristically soft. He gently touched her shoulder. “What did they say?”
Aurora lifted her tear-streaked face. “He said I’m weak. That I’m not strong like Valentina. I’ll never be useful”
Enzo looked at her, his dark eyes filling with a fierce protectiveness that transcended his servant status.
He knelt down to meet her gaze. “You’re not weak, Rory,” he said, taking a small, almost weightless feather that had dropped from a training dummy’s stuffing and placing it in her hand. “You’re just not hard yet”
He curled her small fingers around the feather. “Do you know what a feather is? It’s light. It bends. But it can float above everything, and it can move faster than anyone expects. You’re my little feather”
“And I promise you this, Feather, I will teach you every single thing I know. I will make you so sharp, so fast, that your father will never, ever be able to call you weak again”
From that day forward, when she was thirteen and they began their secret training, he called her Feather.
    END OF FLASHBACK*
The memory shattered like glass, pulling Aurora violently back to the present.
The metallic scent of blood seemed to fill the air, though none had been shed, only the bloody scent of betrayal.
Enzo was no longer the boy who had promised to protect her from weakness. He was the one inflicting it.
He smiled down at her, the triumphant smile of a victor claiming his prize.
“See, Feather? I never forgot that promise. And now… I can finally keep you safe. Safe with me” Enzo finished.
Aurora remained locked in her paralyzed prison, her eyes the only part of her that still obeyed burned with a silent, ferocious hatred. The man before her was not the Enzo she knew.
The realization was a fresh, sharp stab of agony.
Enzo stood, his expression satisfied. He pulled a heavy silk sash from the bedside table and began to bind her wrists to the back of the chair.
“Don’t worry,” he murmured, adjusting the knot. “The drug will wear off in a few hours. You’ll be comfortable, and we’ll have a long, long time to talk”
He paused, glancing at his watch. “But first, I need to make sure Matteo gets the message”
He picked up her clutch from the floor, pulled out her phone, and held it up to her face. With chilling calmness, he positioned the camera to read her immobilized features. The screen flashed green, granting him access. He had her phone.
Moving quickly, he opened the messaging app and drafted a brief text to Matteo.
*Don’t bother finding me. I just want to be alone.
He pressed send, waited half a second for the confirmation, and then, before Aurora could even register the full weight of the deception, he powered the phone off.
    Enzo pocketed the useless device.
“There,” he said, smiling down at her. “That should buy us a few hours before the monster realizes his little wife didn’t actually run away”
He then turned back to Aurora, his eyes roaming over her exposed shoulders and the fabric of her bra. His smile grew cold and predatory. He knelt, his fingers reaching for the clasp.
“Now, where were we, Feather?” he whispered.
Just as his fingertips brushed the fabric strap—
    KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
The sudden, loud rap on the heavy wooden door startled him.
Enzo froze, his eyes snapping to the door.
“Merda!” He cursed softly, a low Italian epithet. He’d forgotten that he ordered a late snack and a bottle of high-end scotch right before Aurora arrived.
He glanced at Aurora, who was still tied and exposed. Quick decision-making kicked in. He couldn’t risk the room service attendant seeing her in that state.
“Stay put” he commanded, though the order was laughably redundant.
He grabbed the heavy duvet from the bed, tossing it over Aurora with a speed that belied his earlier slow movements, completely covering her and the chair.
He then smoothed his shirt, checked the door’s peephole, and unlocked the deadbolt.
Enzo opened the door just wide enough to block the attendant’s view of the room. A uniformed man stood there, holding a silver tray covered by a pristine cloth.
“Room service for 807, sir. Your late-night delivery”
“Perfect timing” Enzo said, forcing a casual tone. He quickly took the tray, handing over a generous tip without making eye contact.
    “Enjoy your evening, sir”
“I plan to” Enzo replied, a dark smirk playing on his lips as the door was locked and bolted once more.
He leaned against the heavy wood for a moment, listening until the attendant’s footsteps faded. He had barely wasted thirty seconds, but the momentum of his violation had been broken.
Enzo walked back to the center of the room, pulling the duvet off Aurora. Her eyes, still filled with rage, met his.
“Just a minor delay, Feather,” he said, picking up the scotch from the tray. He poured a drink, his hand steady. “Now, where were we?”
He raised the glass to her, his smile chillingly triumphant.
The ringtone shattered the charged silence. Enzo’s brows knit in irritation as he fished his phone from his pocket.
    “Yes?” he muttered, answering.
A clipped voice spoke on the other end. “Sir, your express delivery from yesterday has just arrived. You requested to receive it personally at the lobby”
Enzo exhaled sharply, jaw clenching. “Now? It couldn’t wait five minutes?”
“I’m afraid it’s perishable content, sir. The courier insists”
He ended the call with a terse curse under his breath. For a long moment, he stood still, his knuckles whitening around the glass of scotch. Then he turned back to Aurora.
Her eyes followed him, silent and burning fury.
“Will be right back, Feather,” he said at last, forcing a calmness he didn’t feel. “Seems the universe enjoys interrupting me tonight”
He set the glass down on the bedside table and walked to her, crouching so his eyes were level with hers. His hand hovered near her cheek but didn’t touch. Instead, he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“I’ll be right back” he murmured.
“Don’t go anywhere, you can’t anyway”
He rose, straightened his jacket, and headed for the door. With one last glance at her bound form, he locked it from the outside.
The echo of his footsteps faded down the hall, leaving Aurora in suffocating silence.
Down in the lavish, marble-floored lobby of Le Monarch Hotel, Enzo accepted his large, customized luggage from the courier. He signed quickly, his eyes darting toward the elevators. The brief trip had already cut into his precious time with Aurora.
He turned toward the elevator bank, and he pressed the button for the eighth floor and waited, tapping his foot impatiently. The elevator doors slid open, and he stepped inside, his dark thoughts already returning to the suite.
When he reached Room 807, he inserted his keycard, expecting the tell-tale double click of the main lock and the heavy thud of the deadbolt.
But there was only a single, quiet click.
Enzo froze, his heart slamming against his ribs. The deadbolt was unlocked.
He pulled his key out, his hand shaking. Had he forgotten? He distinctly remembered sliding the heavy bolt.
He pulled his pistol from the waistband beneath his jacket. He kicked the door inward.
    The room was silent.
The silk sash lay cut and discarded on the floor by the chair. The heavy, wooden chair stood empty, pushed slightly off-center.
“Aurora!” Enzo roared, his voice cracking with disbelief and rising panic. He swept the room, checking the bathroom, the closet, and the balcony.
    Gone.
He spun back to the center of the room. Her clutch lay on the counter and his glass of scotch sat untouched.
    Nothing was missing except her.
Enzo stared at the empty chair, the silent witness to his catastrophic failure. He had built her cage, promised to keep her safe, and in less than five minutes, she had flown away.
He knew then that she hadn’t escaped the paralysis on her own. Someone else had been here.
    Matteo!?
    •••
    BACK AT THE GALA*
The soft jazz played on, oblivious to the simmering tension. It had been over an hour since Aurora had left the corner table for the restroom, and now, Matteo, was also conspicuously absent.
Maya was slumped slightly in her chair, working hard on her fourth glass of ruby-red wine. The alcohol hadn’t dulled the sting of Ace’s earlier rejection, but it had made her reckless.
Scarlett and Rosa sat nearby, watching the flow of guests while keeping a casual eye on her.
Blade swaggered over to the table, followed closely by Storm and Axe.
“Have any of you seen the Boss?” Axe asked before Blade could.
Scarlett shrugged, her gaze fixed on the crowd near the champagne tower.
    “We haven’t seen him”
“His phone went to voicemail” Storm added, checking his own device.
Just then, Ace appeared, striding quickly toward the table, his chest rising and falling heavily as though he’d sprinted up several flights of stairs. His normally cold, controlled demeanor was replaced by visible alarm.
“We can’t find Boss’s wife too” Ace stated, his voice clipped and strained. He looked directly at Maya. “You were the last one with her”
The mention of Aurora’s disappearance was a bucket of ice water. Maya instantly sobered. She pushed her chair back, the wine-fueled haze vanishing in a rush of dread.
“What do you mean, ‘can’t find her’? She told me she was visiting the restroom. She said she’d be right back”
“She left the building,” Ace ground out, running a hand over his tired eyes. “The staff saw a woman matching her description leave through a service exit one hour and some minutes ago. No one saw who picked her up”
“She wouldn’t do that,” Rosa interjected, looking from Ace to Maya. “Not without telling someone or boss”
Before the team could descend into a full-blown panic, Ace’s phone buzzed with an urgent text message. He snatched it up, reading the screen as the others clustered in anticipation.
Ace looked up, his face a mask of conflict and confusion. He read the message aloud, his voice flat with disbelief.
“Everyone should go home. I have it handled myself”
    The text was from Matteo.
A stunned silence fell over the small group.
“Handled what?” Blade finally broke the silence, his jaw dropping. “His wife goes missing, and we’re supposed to go home?”
“It’s his number,” Ace confirmed, staring at the message as if the phone would spontaneously combust. “But it doesn’t make any damn sense”
Viper sashayed over, having overheard the last sentence.
“When has the Boss ever made sense when his little lamb is involved?” she drawled, though her eyes were serious.
“If he says go home, he means he’s gone nuclear, and he wants no witnesses”
The team exchanged grim, knowing looks.
“I knew this was going to happen” Bianca scoffed, throwing her hands up in exasperation as she joined them.
“We came here on a mission, and now his stupid wife decides to be the star, making everyone focus on her, and we forgot what we came to do”
Her gaze swept over the worried faces, landing dismissively on the empty table where Aurora had sat.
“Why is she suddenly going missing? She just wants attention on her, and now Boss has gone for her,” Bianca spat, her voice dripping with venomous jealousy. “She has no respect for the Family, no respect for the operation!”
Maya, still sobered and terrified, finally snapped. Her own tumultuous relationship with Ace and her fear for her brother’s wife boiled over.
“Shut up, Bianca,” Maya hissed, pushing forward. “You’re just mad because you’re useless on a mission, you couldn’t even make Nicholas fall for you, and Matteo left the building without giving you a second glance!”
Bianca’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “At least I know my place, Maya. Unlike the little tramp who has to screw a guy just to feel important, then cries when he calls her a mistake”
Before the verbal sparring could turn physical, Ace stepped between them, his hand gripping Maya’s arm hard enough to stop her lunge.
“Enough!” Ace roared, his voice low and carrying the absolute authority. “This isn’t a damn parlor game. The Boss gave an order. We follow
    He looked at the others.
“We leave this gala now” Ace commanded.
Blade shook his head, his usual grin completely gone. “And what if he needs backup, Ace? We’re just going to sit there?”
Ace’s jaw was tight. “If he needs us, he knows how to call us. Until then, we trust the Boss knows what he’s doing and besides he can handle whatever it is on his own!”
He looked once more at the exit, his conflicted emotions clear.
Vixen was watching them from afar, his eyes solely on Ace.
    •••
The first sensation Aurora registered was the impossible softness beneath her back. The paralysis was gone, replaced by a dull, throbbing ache and the overwhelming sensation of sluggishness.
She blinked her eyes open, struggling to focus on the unfamiliar, opulent surroundings.
She wasn’t in Le Monarch Hotel. She was in a room draped in velvet and silk, illuminated by soft, expensive lighting. She lay on a large bed, covered by a rich silk duvet.
Her body felt heavy, but she could move. She cautiously flexed her fingers, then her toes. The drug had worn off entirely. She was free of the chemical vise, but she was definitely not free.
A deep wave of disorientation hit her. She sat up, clutching the duvet to her chest, her mind racing to piece together the events: Enzo, the betrayal, the paralysis… and then nothing.
The door to the room clicked open, and a man walked in.
He was tall, with light, penetrating eyes and a confident, easy demeanor. He held a silver tray with a glass of water.
Aurora felt a strange jolt of familiarity. She was sure she’d seen him before, perhaps recently, but her memory was still clouded.
He smiled. “Good, you’re awake. You needed the rest after all that”
Aurora instinctively pulled the duvet tighter. She tried to speak, but her throat felt raw and unused. Her hands searched the bedside table for something, anything, to write with. She found a pen and a small notepad.
She scrawled two words and held the pad out to him.
    “WHO ARE YOU?”
He walked to the bedside, set the tray down, and picked up the notepad, reading her question.
“My name is Nicholas,” he replied.
He leaned closer, his light eyes fixed on hers. “And we will be getting married soon”
Aurora’s eyes widened instantly in shock, and then a fierce frown creased her brow. She frantically snatched the notepad and pen, scribbling three furious words this time.
    “DELUCA? NICHOLAS DELUCA?”
Before Nicholas could confirm her sinking realization, the door opened again. A man stepped into the room, a figure of cold, imposing authority. Antonio DeLuca.
Antonio surveyed Aurora with a calculating look.
“Is that her, Nicholas? The lady you want to marry?” Antonio asked, his voice a low rumble.
“Yes, Father” Nicholas confirmed, stepping slightly aside.
Antonio walked to the foot of the bed, his presence suffocating. “Welcome home, my beautiful daughter-in-law” He paused, a terrifying sense of finality in his words.
“The wedding will be scheduled next week on Saturday”
Aurora stared at the two men, utterly speechless.
    It keeps getting worse.

    ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

Leonardo didn’t flinch, he even kept his eyes on the stones, calculating the seconds left before they’d get to him as they flew, and as he did, everyone on the assembly held their breaths especially the ones who just threw the stones.

The stones finally met him like wicked curses, the sounds as ominous as the hymn of the condemned.

The effects scattered on all parts of his body. His tummy, sides, ribs, legs, knees, neck, arms. Every part.

A few met his face too, and the last one that met his throat made blood spill from his mouth.

Blood oozed from every part of him, and he gave the mobsters another glare that says they should continue the stoning right now.

Don Anthony was too shocked to make any move, even Felicia looks like she got robbed of her mind.

Thaddeus is the only blank person in this assembly. He’s enjoying what’s going on.

Ivanna’s blank look has disappeared, now replaced with confusion as more of his blood dropped on her head since she’s still standing below his spiralling body. Even as the stones hit him and fell, some hit her too.

    She didn’t move.

“Fûck y’all! Including you, dad!” Lissa suddenly stood, taking the bowl of black shinny stones in front of Thaddeus. She hurled it away, scattering stones in the passageway.

Then, she began stalking to the faces of the mobsters with the bowl of stones, picking out her sword and beheading one, two, three….

Heads rolled on the ground, and blood sprayed her face from their neck pipes as it flowed up.

Those with bowls of stones started throwing them away before she could reach them with that insane furiousness.

“How dare y’all throw the stones at him! Losers!!! How dare y’all!!”

She beheaded the fourth mobster, and Penny rushed down the passageway to hold her.

Even Penny’s grip did nothing. She pushed Penny away and pointed her bloody sword at the woman.

“Try to hold me, and I’ll hurt you mum!”

“Killing mobsters without a reason is another sin! You’re commiting a sin!” Penny cautioned.

“Without a reason?” Lissa gasped. “Did you just say without a reason? They stoned him when he told them to! What right do they have to do that? He ordered them? So f+kin what!!!” Lissa howled.

Now, every mobster holding stone bowls already threw them away for the fear of Lissa’s sword.

Thaddeus sat back in the passageway, behind his desk. His hand is on that desk, and his two fingers are drumming silently as he watched the ongoing saga by his daughter.

    He likes it, obviously.

He can’t even hide his thrill. Can’t hide his satisfaction.

“Drop the sword, Lissa. One more death, you’ll be imprisoned.” Don Anthony said calmly after he regained his voice.

“I don’t care!!” Lissa screamed, facing the Don. “I’m not scared of imprisonment, but no stone is touching Leo here again!”

On the spiral, Leonardo looks blank in the face. The blood on his lips and the one crawling down his body made him look like a unforgivable sinner, but inside him, he knew this would happen.

    He expected this.

He looked into the cameras again, communicating with Padrino with his eyes.

“Pick up the stone bowls, and throw! My words hasn’t changed. If I get down from this place alive, I’ll stone everyone to death myself!” He spat.

“No!!” Lissa yelled, rushing to the center where Ivanna stood.

Her sword went to her neck, and Ivanna froze.

The sword is a very cold one, but with the blood of the mobsters on it, it’s even colder. She could the smell metallic tang from it.

“He’s doing all of this for you! Speak up and tell him to stop it!!” Lissa demanded impatiently.

“And you think he’d listen to me?” Ivanna muttered.

Before Lissa could form a reply for that, Don Anthony’s phone rang on the desk, and Felicia passed it to him.

He picked up. It’s the Padrino.

As he brought the phone to his ear, he could already hear the old man’s harsh breathings.

“One more stone to him, and I’ll have to step you down as the Don.” Padrino Marko said.

“Now it’s also my fault that he decided to take the stones on his own?” Don Anthony scoffed.

“I said what I said, and about the girl, keep her safe till I land in Chicago next week. Not even Leo himself would stop me from chewing out her heart, he knows he can’t go against me, which is why he intentionally wanted to take the stoning, but let’s see how far he’s willing to go next week.” Marko replied with a finality tone, hanging up on the Don directly.

Don Anthony dropped the phone, and with a wave of his hand, the ceiling spirals uncuffed from Leonardo’s wrists.

He dropped from the ceiling, landing on his two feet on the ground. He cracked his neck, sweeping his hair away from his face.

He didn’t exchange looks or words with anyone as he walked out of the assembly, taking his heavy presence along with him.

    Lissa followed him fast.

It’s like he was sitting on everyone’s throat, cos the words started coming out immediately.

    “What the hell??”

    “I was hyperventilating.”

“No, for real. A thriller movie scene wouldn’t have this much effect.”

“Taking the stones for her? Why?”

“Ghost probably didn’t want his favorite puxxy to die.”

All attention was diverted to Ivanna who’s still standing there. Her eyes are on the heads of the mobsters on the ground, and their headless bodies that’s still bleeding out redness.

She held to the right sleeve of her gear, and her nails almost dug into her skin in the process.

Robert and Hilda came to get her, and she didn’t even say a word to them as they led her out of the assembly.

Hilda signalled at the junior cleaners, telling them to start cleaning the blood and beheaded bodies.

Nino was watching, unable to follow till Island came to meet him.

“Hey, want me to go to the kitchen and heat some chicken marsala for just the two of us?” She stroked his cheek, but Nino slapped her hand away, and it resounded.

Giving her a sour look, he started walking out of the assembly, but Island quickly followed with a dark squint. She pulled him back and leaned into his ear to whisper…

“You were feeling on top of the world when you were drilling the f+k out of me in my bed, right? Now you don’t wanna own up to the responsibility after taking my v+rgin¡ty? I can ruin you with the snap of my finger and you know it. I only have to say things to the Don.”

Nino tensed, and she smiled when she felt his tension. Her hand went to his shoulder to rest.

“So…let’s go get some chicken marsala.” She said, pulling him out of the assembly.

Sandra appeared from behind a pillar, her arms crossed on her chest.

She witnessed it, especially how Nino’s body tensed after Island whispered into his ear.

“He’s under pressure?” She mumbled. “What could that be?”

Lissa followed Leonardo till he got to his Citadel door, and that was when he faced her. Their eyes met, but it’s all coldness.

Leonardo has never been warm, but at least he looked at her with eyes that says “she’s my best friend.”

Now it’s all gone. It’s the first time she got close to him after he disqualified her like he said, and it’s the first time she got to see this coldness directed towards herself.

    It hurts.

She folded her arms behind herself, tightly.

“I’ll follow you in to get your wounds treated. Apart from me and the estate doctor, you never allow anyone to touch your wounds remember? And the estate doctor is probably busy treating wounds of the mobsters who got wounded in Hydra forest.” She spoke with confidence.

“You don’t have ears malfunction, do you?” Leonardo replied, eyes turning colder she could feel the Atlanta inside the two balls.

“When I pronounced you as disqualified, you should know even coming near my Citadel is iniquitous. You’re gone from my dictionary, Lalissa.” He muttered.

His voice is even frostier than his eyes, but before she could process what to say next, he already entered the elevator, leaving her there.

As the door closed, she placed her palm on the scanner, but the door won’t open. She tried using the face scanner, but it still won’t open.

    Then… realization hit her harder.

He really got rid of her biometrics.

Her sword fell from her, and she bit her own tongue, trying to pull it out of her mouth.

“Miss!” Emma came over, getting a hold of her and forcing her mouth open. “You can’t bite your own tongue off! I told you you can’t be irrational at times like this! You have things set in place, you only have to wait for the arrival of the Padrino to start acting! Miss!”

Lissa looked at her, and Emma nodded. “Sir Leo is still coming back to you, but for now… know that you have me, you have me.”

She picked up her sword, and Lissa quietly followed her to the park.

    [Inside The Citadel]

Of all part of Leonardo’s affected body, his wrist got the biggest one.

He cut it to get rid of the tattoo.

Ivanna gave it a brutal bite in the cabin.

In the Sinners Assembly, he tied the spiral cuffs to it, and he was suspended off the ceiling with that same wrist.

    So… it’s bleeding profusely.

He entered the washroom first, opening cold water on the wrist.

As the water washed the blood, it bled, and in no time, red stained the zinc bowl so much.

He watched the beautiful sight with a sick smile, his dark hair sprawling over his face.

Darn, he needs an haircut, but he doesn’t want to. There’s something about his excessively full hair that he likes. He loves the shadow it creates for his eyes. The silhouette it carves for his face. The darkness.

He looked at the mirror as the water kept pounding his wrist, and the view he met was much more beautiful.

The stone wounds all-over his face, the patterns. The red.

He laughed crazily, the horror of it filled the washroom, the sound so foreboding, so creepy.

Remembering when he was on that ceiling spiral made him laugh more.

Vera once said facing dangers is the most beautiful thing existing.

    Danger is Beauty.

But he won’t experience this beauty for free. He didn’t allow Ivanna experience the stoning doesn’t mean she’s gonna go scot free.

She dared try to run away with Hayden?

She dared point a gun at him?

    She dared even try?

His laughter stopped when he felt pain on that wrist again, and he looked down at it.

    His veins are almost out.

He almost pressed for more pain, but Bobby bursted into the room.

“I knew it! I knew you’d be here, exhibiting your signs of mental instability again after what you did at the Sinners Assembly! I’m only just hearing about your stunt!” He shouted, heated.

But when he saw the zinc bowl and the blood in the water, his eyes widened so f+kin much.

    “The f+k!!!??”

“No no no. Shit!!” He yelled, dialling the estate doctor’s line.

“Get my bro’s blood group and get your transfusion tools here in one minute! Fly here!” He ordered.

It’s as if his scream made Leonardo conscious of what’s going on.

He suddenly felt fuzzy, felt dizzy.

He was still able to get to the relaxing room on his own, but he was unaware of when the doctor arrived.

He only regained a little consciousness after receiving a few ampoule of blood.

“Get him food, he needs it.” The doctor said.

“Don’t talk like you don’t know this m0therf+ker. He still believes that eating too much is miserable. Mum made him believe that shit so he never eats more than ten or nine  spoons from a meal.” Bobby said.

“It doesn’t matter, Mister Bob. He just needs to eat something. He lost a lotta blood this time, and he needs to stay here at least till tomorrow morning. I’ll keep saying this: he doesn’t feel pain, but he can die. He loves danger too much.” The doctor replied.

“Fine, I’ll make sure of he stays inside even if I have to engage in a fight with him.” Bobby sighed, dialling the kitchen to order for a meal.

    [Cooper Siblings Apartment]

Ivanna sat on the couch, face forlorn and eyes looking forward to nothing. Her palms are on her laps, and her eyes are coloured red. She had cried shortly some minutes ago, and her nose is even wet. She’s sniffling.

Hilda and Robert are with her, but their words aren’t doing anything to her at the moment.

“You won’t know how shocked I was to see him in the forest too, or how more shocked I was to see his Crimson tattoo. It all just came like a whirlwind and I couldn’t process it, then she got arrested for siding with the enemy, and I nearly ran mad when they started stripping her in the Sinners Assembly.” Robert said.

Hilda got them two plates of breakfast burrito from the kitchen, and she placed them on a table tray, but none is even looking at the food.

She shifted the tray closer to Ivanna, then she smiled and touched her hands gently.

“You’re just like my lost child. Stubborn, headstrong, and you love too much that once you fall, there’s no going back.” She said.

“I can’t give up on Hayden. He did too much for me and right now all I can think about is his well-being. He got two bullets, Hilda. This is the same boy who payed my college tuition for a year after my parents were arrested and our restaurant was ruined. Hayden payed for me from his dead parents trust fund, and I know he’s an enemy now… I know I shouldn’t even think about it, but I’m human…I’m not immune to emotions like everyone else here. I know I shouldn’t have sided with him but I just couldn’t…”

Ivanna sniffled again, trying to keep her tears controlled.

“But we’re a part of the mob now, we took the oath, and I know it’s hard, but this is the path we choose. Hayden is now different from before, and we’re different too… We lost Ginny, we can’t lose any of us again… please.” Robert stroked her hair.

    Ivanna hiccuped.

“It won’t be easy, I know…” Hilda started, stroking her cheek. “But you should just try, cos you escaped death today doesn’t mean you will again tomorrow. You’ve been escaping death too much and it feels like you’re drawing closer to it at this point. For now, just focus on your trainings… Don’t you wanna climb high and punish those who made your family end up this way?”

“I do.” Ivanna sniffled again, wiping her nose and eyelids.

“Then work towards it. Next week, you’ll have to prove your worth to the Padrino too, and he’s a scary man with his intimidating brigadiers. Earn merits, get to know your parents conditions. You have a lot to do, don’t slack.” Hilda adviced gently.

“Thank you… Hilda.” Ivanna muttered, her voice cracking.

“It’s fine, you know you’re like my beautiful daughter.” Hilda smiled, urging her to smile too.

Ivanna hugged her, finding comfort and warmth in her arms.

Robert continued stroking her hair like a caring brother that he is.

They were still in the middle of that when a knock sounded on the door, loud enough to jerk them.

They all went to the door, meeting a guard there.

“To the Citadel, Sir Leo wants you.” He reported and left.

Ivanna looked at Robert, then at Hilda. “I’ll be right back.” She said.

Next, she’s already walking down the front steps, and she disappeared down the pavement in two minutes.

Hilda got a text from the cleaners at the assembly that they need help, so she left for the assembly.

Left alone, Robert entered the house, but before he could close the door, a figure pushed between it, forcing it open before entering.

    It’s Bacardi.

    “Miss Bacardi?” Robert frowned.

Bacardi went closer, he backed up.

Again, she went closer, her eyes on his face as her steps aligned with her breaths. Robert backed up again.

He kept backing up, and she kept coming closer, till he felt the wall behind himself and stopped.

Bacardi pushed his chest with an hand, making sure he’s glued to that wall before she spoke.

“The helpless look is gone, now that your sister is fine…for now.”

    “Obviously, Miss Bacardi” he said.

    “That’s odd.” She frowned.

“What’s odd, Miss Bacardi?” He replied.

“Stop it!” She suddenly held his neck, her frown turning into a glare.

    You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng

“You told me to address you as Miss, and now that I followed the instructions, I’m getting choked?” Robert said with difficulty.

She let go of him quickly, folding that palm tight.

“I was on my period, still on my period. I tend to get cranky.” She said.

“No. You were embarrassed. I saw it in your eyes. You were embarrassed that a mere low member of the mob made you cûm with his fingers…”

    “Rob!” She snapped.

Robert recoiled, blinking. “I’m sorry, but I wasn’t wrong though.”

“Gawd, you’re blunt like this?” Bacardi held her forehead, going to the couch to sit.

The tattered state of the couch disgusted her, and she couldn’t stop staring. “F+k, why the hell is this apartment so-so.”

“I gave you my card, right? You could order for new couches.” She muttered.

    Robert said nothing.

She relaxed anyways, and she frowned again, feeling so hot in the tummy. Very hot.

Robert sat on the table in front of her, dragging it close to her too.

Without asking, he brought an hand to her tummy, touching.

“Does it hurt? Whenever you’re on your period?” He asked.

“Yesterday was my first day, and it’s only supposed to hurt for that one day, but today’s came worse.” She replied, biting down on her lip.

“Have you tried icepack before?” He asked genuinely.

“You did this for your rich ex a lot, I guess…” She replied.

“Cardi, just answer.” He said seriously, and she smiled.

“Haven’t tried icepack before, never knew it worked…” She shrugged.

“I’ll get some from the kitchen, will be right back!” He stood and rushed out.

Instantly, Bacardi picked her phone, calling the kitchen staffs.

“Give Robert whatever he asks. Even if it’s your heads.” She said.

“Y…yes Miss.” The staffs chorused in a synchronized stutter.

    [Don Anthony’s Office]

“This isn’t the right time to visit the outside store, Felly. There’s a store inside the estate, I had it installed in here just for you. Why would you visit the outside store?” Don Anthony complained, looking stressed.

Felicia is right in front of him, trying to get his permission with sweetness as usual, but he’s being reluctant this time, and time’s running out.

“I got bored of the estate store. Is it such a taboo to try outside? I want outside air too, it’s been a while. Also, I need to visit the roses shop. Thaddeus celebration is next week, the Padrino will also be here…I need new fits… today’s Friday it’s almost due time.” She said in a rush.

“Also, after the stunt Leo pulled, I need shopping to clear my head and—”

“Fine, Felly. Fine. Don’t take too long.” Anthony cut her off.

“Of course, you’re the best!” She smiled, kissing his cheeks.

She rushed out of the office, and Anthony rubbed his temples, sighing.

Remembering how Leonardo willingly cuffed himself to the ceiling spiral and asked to be stoned made his mind go to Vera.

Vera had several mental illness tendencies, but proneness to danger was one of the most frequent ones.

One time, she even attempted jumping down the penthouse, and she was so sure she wouldn’t die.

“I’d just be in coma for a year or so, I’d be fine. My death can’t come from what I do to myself.” She would say.

She ruined Leonardo mentally, and now he’s blaming himself for not taking him away from her when she decided to start training him back then. He regrets.

A new contact job flashed on his wall screen, and he stood to check thoroughly.

~ Body Disposal, in New Orleans.

One of the illegal works of the clan is disposal. They help criminals dispose bodies illegally, but their rate is enough to buy a few skyscrapers, starting from a billion upwards.

Since it’s in New Orleans and will require flight, Anthony clicked 1.5B on screen and sent it to the person who accepted almost immediately.

His whole life information appeared on screen immediately, plus the body they’re supposed to go clear.

It’s a man, and his bowels are gone from his body. The body is in a cellar, and his blood turned black already.

    He probably died of poisoning.

As Don Anthony read the info, he made a call to Sandra.

    “Yes, dad?”

“Arrange two mobsters for a journey to New Orleans tommorow. Body clearance.” He ordered.

    [Estate Kitchen]

Nino and Island are in the kitchen, in the middle of the staffs, and Nino is just eating everything Island shoved into his mouth from the chicken marsala bowl.

    He’s not complaining. He wouldn’t.

The confusion in the eyes of the staffs is palpable.

They couldn’t talk though, till Robert entered.

    “An icepack please!” He said.

A staff quickly went to get it, and that was when Robert saw Nino, but seeing that Island is feeding him is even more concerning.

    “Nino?” He called.

    No reply.

    “Nino?” Again.

“He doesn’t wanna roll with you, read the room, he’s eating!” Island snapped at him, and he blinked.

When the icepack was brought, he took it but still couldn’t leave.

    Tierney entered the kitchen.

“A full tray of breakfast burrito please! Put everything you have in this kitchen on it including sausage roll! I love sausage roll! I’ve been watching over a dead body since hours ago and nothing could be more exhausting!” He said all at once.

He has the tattoo already, meaning he already git initiated.

As the staffs prepared his orders, his eyes caught Robert, and he moved to him immediately.

“Oh…the brother of the runaway girl?’ he touched his shoulder.

Robert shook him off and left the kitchen.

    Tierney blinked. “Cold-shoulder huh?”

He made faces, settling his eyes on Nino who’s still getting fed by Island.

“Feels like he’s in a cage… like a bird.” He muttered, shaking his head.

Meanwhile, when Robert stepped outside with the icepack, he received a text on his phone.

Tommorow, he’s on the roster with Bobby at the warehouse. They’ll be in charge of the new drug sales, and at the same time… Bobby will be his training boss tomorrow too.

According to the text, he’s to dress chic when coming cos they won’t only do drugs and trainings, they’d also club as hell.

“Not bad…” He muttered, continuing his journey to the apartment.

    [Citadel]

Leonardo ate just one pie from what was brought, and he’s still on blood transfusion. He’s just wheeling the pole around the Citadel cos it has small tyres at the base.

He has been sedated, but the sedative won’t start work till he sits, so he has been avoiding sitting down.

Now, he’s inside the computer room, staring at the screen message that says the Cooper couple clothes were found in a shallow grave.

“Looks like a ploy. Whoever is behind this isn’t so smart. They’re obviously still alive.” Bobby said.

Leonardo made a spy call immediately, ordering for the general search of the Cooper siblings location.

At the same time, the spies he sent to investigate Ferrari’s death in Italy has reported, saying they can’t find anything suspicious.

“I underestimated Thaddeus. He’s playing his cards too well. Too clean” Leonardo muttered, his lips too pale.

His eyes are slightly red, lifeless. He picked a tab from a table.

“Next move?” Bobby asked as they walked out together.

“Things would go chaotic next week, and before then, I’ll find evidence against Thaddeus myself.” Leonardo replied dryly.

“More reason why you should rest for all today.” Bobby replied, checking his phone.

“Robert is on the roster with me tomorrow, at the warehouse.” He smiled, too wide.

When they arrived at the relaxation room, they met Ivanna waiting there.

She has been waiting for minutes.

Leonardo threw the tab at her, and she caught it.

“Open it, and watch what’s waiting for you.” He said crisply, still standing.

Bobby is beside him, backing the wall with crossed arms.

She opened the tab, and the first thing that greeted her eyes was a video, featuring her parents.

They’re in the middle of something that looks like a canal.

Actually a canal, but this canal is a muddy one, and the mud is reaching their chests already, nearly sucking them away.

They’re struggling inside, swimming, trying to get out, but the more they tried, the more the drowned. The mud entered their eyes already, so they’re practically blind right now.

They look unrecognizable, dry and haggard like they don’t even know what food is.

Ivanna covered her mouth with her palm, and the tab trembled in her hold. Her throat dried.

    “No…”

“I control the canal,” Leonardo said slowly, making her look up. “I only have to move my head, and that canal will drown them completely.”

“No…don’t do that!” She shouted, her eyes going back to the tablet she’s holding. Watching her parents suffer like that for few minutes made her mind shatter to bits.

“Please… please make it stop! Please get them out of the canal! Please get them out!!!! Please I’m begging you! Please please…. make is stop!!! Make it stop!!!” She threw the tab and crawled to him, holding his leg.

“Please…I admit I was wrong! I shouldn’t have sided with Hayden! I’m a bî+ch who deserves your rage! I was wrong to even point a gun at you or attempting to elope and ruin the mission! Please stop! Please….

Leonardo pushed her away with his shoe, but she didn’t go. She held that leg tight, so he let go of his blood bag pole and dragged her up by the collar of her shirt. Her tears made him smirk as their faces mirrored.

    “I’m so sorry…” She muttered.

“Your parents will remain in that canal, suffering till you earn merits by getting stronger! I have no use for a stupid, weak let, I might just kill you myself. You want your parents freedom? Follow rules!” He spat.

“I will! I will! I swear to you!” She trembled, nodding.

Roughly, he let go of her, and she landed back on the ground, sniffling.

“Get out.” He ordered, and she immediately rushed out.

Bobby left the wall he has been leaning on, chuckling.

“Brutally wicked, you’re actually using AI videos to hurt people emotionally now? F+ck, she won’t be able to sleep! She’d be scarred, restless, she’d run mad, and I love it.”

“Exactly my point.” Leonardo muttered, sitting on the nearest couch. The doctor wasn’t bluffing, he really slept off immediately.

Bobby sat with him, watching the blood drip into his system from the blood bag when he received another bulk text via email.

~ New Orleans tommorow. Ivanna and Hilda. Body Clearing.

“I nearly forgot Hilda is the best cleaner here, even better at cleaning bodies.” Bobby muttered.

    [Dew Hospital]

At 6pm, Penny and Felicia were done with the doctor.

They left the hospital as silently as they came, and when they got back in the car, Felicia let out a sigh.

    “You feel better?” Penny asked.

“Yeah, sure. If I take the drugs according to the doctor’s instructions, the fingers should heal soon.” Felicia replied, cooling down.

“So… Your relationship with Island?” Penny asked curiously.

    “You never forget,” Felicia muttered.

“Forget what? You promised!” Penny accused.

“Island is like a child to me. I found her when she was young, and I took care of her like a mother. It’s normal that I am overprotective.” Felicia explained.

“And the Don is aware?” Penny asked.

“Of course… Why do you think he allowed me to move into the estate with her after he married me?” Felicia said.

“Whatever, it’s not even that deep.” Penny started the car.

“I told you, so how’s the ceremony thingy going? I’m thinking about rocking the same dress as you. C’mon, your husband is becoming a brigadier!” Felicia hyped.

“Aren’t you worried? When Padrino arrives next week, you’d be stressed. That man dislikes you.” Penny said.

“Can he ever like anyone who’s not his sick daughters? He destroyed his daughters, and his late first daughter destroyed her son. I don’t care about their tantrums though, Thony is there for me.” Felicia shrugged.

    “Anthony’s baby,” Penny hyped.

“Of course!” Felicia laughed, and Penny joined in as she drove off.

    [Armando Mansion]

“You can’t skip work again tomorrow, Miss. Your desk is filled in the office, and you have loads of board meetings to attend. Inspections too, there are about seven new properties to go through.” Emma reported after handing Lissa her night caffeine.

She’s sitting in her father’s gazebo.

Just like Don Anthony has a gazebo, Thaddeus has one too.

“I’m going to work tomorrow, just find a way to split the workload between now and Sunday. Next week is dad’s ceremony, and things would get choky at home yunno?” Lissa replied, returning the paperback report file to her.

    “Yes Miss.” Emma bowed.

Lissa drank from her mug again, and by the door, Thaddeus stood with an hand in pocket, second hand to his phone that’s on his ear.

He’s on call with his spy in New Orleans.

“You either kill Ivanna, or kill Hilda and frame her for it.” He instructed.

“Make it clean.” He added, walking down the hallway.

[Next Morning, House Of Esposito~ Citadel]

Morning cracked for Leonardo like any other day, but his head didn’t wake up like it does.

It’s in a different state this morning—Chaotic. Noisy.

    He feels refreshed, energized, replenished.

He got transfused with two blood bags during his sedation, so it’s normal for him to feel this good, but his goodness isn’t reaching his head.

He got off bed, and he managed to check his mails first.

First message that caught his eyes was Ivanna and Hilda.

They’re currently on the flight to New Orleans for a Body Clearing mission.

Also, there’s a text from Ivanna herself.

Pet: I promise to be diligent with this mission, I’ll definitely gain some merits before returning. Don’t kill my parents.

He dropped the phone on the ground and entered the bathroom cos that one message only worsened what was going on in his head.

With his clothes on, he stepped under the shower and opened water on himself, but even the water couldn’t help his situation.

He slammed his head on the glass wall, and the glass cracked. Still, her face just won’t leave his head.

“Get out of my head, witch. Get out of my fuckin head!!!! GET OUT!!!!! OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!” He howled, hitting his head again and again till the glass broke completely to the floor.

    Craziness. Madness. Insanity.

The three categories merged in his skull.

They were still roaring over there as he walked out of the bathroom wetly, stepping over the glass shards.

He picked his phone from where he dropped it on the bedroom floor, and water was dripping from his hair to the phone screen as he dialled Sandra’s number.

    “Hey, brother?”

“Which of the private jets did Hilda and Joy take?” He asked.

“The second bombardier,” Sandra replied immediately.

Leonardo hung up, entered his computer room and only hit few buttons. Since there are cameras in the jet, he just connected.

Ivanna’s face came to view, and the noise in his head stopped like that.

His breaths turned long, deep, reaching his chest and lungs.

    He calmed.

    [Estate Sector V]

Till now, the existence of Sector V is only known to the top members of the clan. It’s a little building close to the estate Crypt, so…little to no attention was payed to it.

This is Tierney’s second trip to the kitchen this morning, and he’s with a custard cup when he came back as a foodie that he is.

Leonardo stationed him here to take care of someone, and as he walked the hallway which led to the only room in the sector, he was muttering things to himself…

“In my next life, I’ll come as a doctor. I mean…look, I’m not even one, but I’m here, taking care of a comatose patient…” He grinned opening the door of the room.

He put on the lights first, eating another spoon from his custard as his eyes darted to the bed.

On the bed, a girl lay unconscious, but her stabilizing machines are beeping healthily by her sides.

    It’s Ginny.

    Ginny Cooper.

    TBC.

    TBC.

    TBC.

    ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

The phone went to Leonardo’s ear, and Ivanna didn’t even wait for a beat before she talked.

    Typical her.

    “What’s FTM?” She asked flatly.

“And are you willing to pay the price that comes with me telling you?” He replied flatly too.

“Why must it come with a price when your spy called me special cos of your sign? The specialness is for what?” She said.

He could picture a blank look on her face as she spoke.

“Issa has no idea what FTM is, my siblings don’t, and you think…you somehow think you’d call, and I’ll start narrating? Idiot.” He muttered, taking the phone away from his ear.

He wanted to click red immediately..

“Wait…” Her voice came, and his eyes twitched as his thumb stopped right in front of the red.

“What do you want? — No, I know the price your type of person would want, and I’ll give it to you when you get back…so…give me what I want?” She said clearly.

All along, the men in the room including Bobby and Valon have been staring hard at him, wondering whose call is so important for him to make them wait.

Valon was already boiling on his seat, it’s very obvious with the way his stretchy moustache is moving.

Bobby should be boiling like him too, but he’s not. Seeing Valon angry after he intentionally dragged the negotiation is making his night.

To Albanians, picking calls in the middle of a conversation is peak disrespect, so Leonardo definitely knows what he’s doing.

Not only Valon is boiling, even his men are fuming, their necks are almost bursting with rage.

Hearing she was ready to pay the price, Leonardo brought the phone back to his ear, muttering.

    “You’ll receive a text.”

He ended the call and went to his phone secret place called The Wall.

He opened with his facial recognition and sent a particular note from there to Ivanna, then he dropped the phone

“Negotiation resumes?” He said, facing the men with a little smile.

“You wasted three minutes of our time, Leo, disrespectful.” Valon muttered, holding eyes with him across the round table.

“How old are you? 90? What? Are you older than my father or grandfather?” Leonardo said blankly as if he’s still not disrespecting him.

    “Leo!” Valon spat.

“It’s Leonardo. Only family have the easiness to call the short form. Strangers like you must stress yourself and pronounce the uselessly full form everytime.” Leonardo replied, still sitting.

Bobby grinned, unable to hold it in.

“You called for this” He muttered.

“Stranger? I’m a stranger?” Valon queried.

Leonardo was silent, but he maintained that crazy eye contact with those broody eyes of his.

It’s insane how he can make eye contact even for hours without blinking like a total nutjob.

It was Valon who blinked first, and the man looked away.

“You’ve been deliberately wasting our time even before he received the call,” Bobby said angrily. “It was as if you all knew what you were doing, insisting on selling a kilo for half a million. I know velkrona is lucrative, and everyone wants it, but the fact that we came here all the way from Chicago should tell you a story!”

“Are you done jam-talking?” Leonardo stood, pushing his phone into his inner suit pocket.

He started walking out of the room, and Bobby saluted Valon sassily with two fingers, then he started leaving the meeting room too.

Valon and his men exchanged glances, they kept sitting till the brothers got to the door.

Before they could step out, Valon spoke up.

    “A kilo, for 300.”

The brothers stopped, and Leonardo smirked, darkly before turning back.

    “Where was this energy before?”

Bobby went back into the room and scooped the drug with a small spoon, bringing it to his nose to smell.

    Just the smell.

Just the smell was enough to make his head chaotic. He went high on it for real.

The spoon fell back into the heap of velkrona, and he staggered, holding his head and looking up at the group of Albania men.

“This is sick…too sick.” He muttered.

“I told you, velkrona was banned here by the government cos it was driving people crazy, but I had to do my job no matter what, and that’s why I ship it at nights.” Valon replied.

Bobby tried standing, but he swayed back, so Leonardo quickly caught him, holding him by the side.

“You know how many bags we bargained for. Get it ready before tomorrow morning, and by tomorrow, you get your payment.” He said and took Bobby away.

After they left, Valon and his men sat back, and Valon almost kicked the drug tray away from the table.

“He’s just like they say… Leonardo. Saying the most disrespectful things with a straight face and those unblinking soulless eyes of of his! I should have killed him when he was making that call! How dare he come to my country to disrespect me!” He grunted, his palm folded on the desk.

“Are we just gonna let him and his brother go?” One of the men asked.

“You think you can do anything to him when he’s like the only one in the world who has the FTM technique? His late mother was trained by a martial arts master in Britain, and after she got the needed trainings from him for years, she killed him and escaped, then she gave birth to four kids for Anthony and decided to train just one…that smart bî+ch. Unless we find a way to learn the skill too or find him a big weakness, he remains undefeatable.” Valon explained.

“So… we’re still following the initial plan?” Another nan asked.

“Yes, we’ll do as Monika said.” Valon replied blandly.

    [Leonardo’s Suite]

Leonardo brought Bobby here, and when he dropped him in bed, Bobby grunted, shifting to the middle.

“Weak-ass.” Leonardo commented, wanting to leave, but Bobby pulled his arm suddenly, and he looked back to see his eyes open in bed.

    You’re reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng

“What? You wanna impregnate me?” He muttered.

“When last did you blink? Are you a robot? Even robots blink!” Bobby said out of nowhere.

“I knew you wouldn’t say anything wise,” Leonardo replied, turning away fast.

“It was the prisoner girl who called earlier, wasn’t it?” Bobby talked again, and this time, he sat up in bed.

The drug smell effect is gone from his system since he’s a druggie.

Once again, Leonardo turned, their eyes met. “Yes, and?” He said.

Bobby stood, nearly matching his height but he couldn’t.

Leonardo is the tallest in the House Of Esposito for a reason. He inherited all of Vera’s height alone.

“You picked a call in the middle of a deal? Even if you did it to annoy Valon, it still hasn’t happened before… What exactly is going on? You promised she was just your marionette, and I swear to the devil if you go against your own words, I’ll hate you.” He muttered seriously.

    “Fair enough,” Leonardo nodded.

“No I’m being frank here. If you’re going to forget mum’s mandate and go for a girl, fine… I’d be the happiest person alive. Any girl but not her, cos if it’s her? I’ll kill her, and I won’t let you see her body. You know why I’m saying this.” Bobby said.

Leonardo placed an hand on Bobby’s shoulder, squeezing it.

“I’ve always waited for a day you’d grow balls large enough to threaten me, and finally it’s here. You deserve a flower for this. A black flower.” He muttered, finally walking to the door.

The s+x worker is gone, so it’s just the two of them inside.

“The hell are you going? Stay here with me I’m still under the influence, d+k!” Bobby shouted.

Leonardo left him without replying anymore, and Bobby fell back in bed, shutting his eyes immediately.

“When last did he even sleep? Geez…” He muttered before sleeping off.

When Leonardo got to the outer balcony, he stood behind the glass rails, watching the shipments coming in and out of the Cartel.

At the same time, he’s flipping his lighter, holding his phone with the second hand.

He opened his wall with his facial recognition again, checking out the note he sent to Ivanna.

It wasn’t really the technique. He just gave her hints, and she must be smart to a level before she can get it.

As he stared, the smirk found it’s way to his red lips, but it wiped off when he received a call from his fisherman Chicago spy.

    “Anything else?” He picked.

“Miss Cardi made Miss Lissa fall too, but she was rescued by a normal fisherman and her mother came to the waterside to her her body not long ago.” The spy reported aptly.

    “Copied.” Leonardo ended the call.

Seems he’s gonna be in for a whole lotta shit when he gets back to Chicago tommorow cos now… Lissa’s father will come out.

    For sure.

[Chicago, House Of Esposito~ Cooper Siblings Apartment]

It’s 5am, but there has been no sleep for Ivanna. It doesn’t seem like she’s gonna sleep at all at this rate cos not only does she not understand the jargons Leonardo sent, she’s having problem comprehending it too.

He sent her a note like she’s an highschool student or something.

She has been staring at it for two hours now, but nothing is registering.

The note says… I DON’T OUTRUN THEM, I ERASE THE MOMENT THEY COULD HAVE SEEN ME. I DON’T MOVE FAST, I ONLY MOVE IN SPACES EVERYONE FORGETS.

The nickname for the technique is A KILL YOU NEVER SEE COMING.

And that’s all the note entailed, so she definitely has to find his hint inside this small note?

“He’s deranged..” she muttered, standing from where she has been sitting since two hours ago.

She started walking around the living room. Each move of her feet, the weak floorboards made zippy sounds.

At 6am, her movements turned slower, and her eyes turned keener, her brain processed things faster.

Slowly, the substance of the note started hitting her, but it was at that moment Nino chose to come out.

    “Ivanna?” He called.

“F+k!” She gasped and looked back, seeing him out shirtless.

“You and Robert need to learn how to cover your bodies when I’m around!” She used her her pen to raise a cover clothe from the couch, throwing it at his body.

“I’ve got a gorgeous body, covering it would be a sin…” He said.

“Ou oh..look who chose to be cocky today,” Ivanna replied, and he smiled, coming closer.

He lifted his hand to tuck a strand of hair away from her face, but she stepped back quickly.

“Did Ghost really send you to the bridge last night?” She asked.

Nino went silent, rethinking. If he says yes, then he’d have to tell her the full story of how it was Lissa who sent the letter parcel, and Leonardo hasn’t allowed that, so he lied…

“No. Sir Leo sent me on a lone mission last night, and I was on my way back when I saw Lissa’s acts in the news, so I got angry, went to the bridge and tried to hit her. The result is my nearly broken head.”

“How could you do that? You’re just a Chaser—a driver in this mob, and Lissa is powerful enough to off you with a snap of her fingers…” Ivanna replied worriedly.

“Genuinely, your family and the Armandos, did you both have something going on before you came in here with your siblings?” Nino asked worriedly too.

He reached for her hair, and this time, Ivanna didn’t step back..

    You’re reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng

She’s already so deep in thoughts to even sense his touch.

“Ivanna?” He called, but her mind was already too far gone.

              <Flashback, Years Back>

Cooper Seafood restaurant is the surest plug for fresh, refrigerated seafood in their street.

The restaurant isn’t far from home, so even neighbours hunt customers for them

The restaurant is always full of people who come for seafood dates and those standing in line to buy take-home.

The sun is down that evening, but as usual, the restaurant is still full. This is the hour they get the most sellouts.

Robert is done with college, but he’s still job-hunting, so he came to help with sales.

Ginny is still in her computer highschool, she brought her computer friends from school, and they filled a side of the restaurant.

Ivanna is still in college, and her romance with Hayden is still so healthy. They’re in their school spring break, so they came to help too, sneaking kisses and shrimps.

Mr and Mrs Cooper aren’t even working since the restaurant is filled with helpers.

The couple just sat and chattered like good old friends, and everything was going well till a customer slumped.

The customer was eating from a bowl of crabs when he began bleeding from the mouth and fell.

Ivanna and Hayden broke the kiss they were having in a corner, they rushed out with the others.

“What’s wrong with him!” Ivanna said, petrified.

“Hayden check him!” Ginny said with wide eyes.

“Hey! Young man!” Robert knelt beside the fallen customer.

The rest of the customers were already taking videos.

“Lower your phones, I’m sure his condition has nothing to do with our food!” Ivanna shouted.

    No one listened to her.

Hayden went to the man and gave him a check, his heart was skipping beats as he checked the vitals.

“Call an ambulance! His pulse is failing!” He shouted.

An ambulance was called, and the customer was taken, but his body didn’t get to the hospital before he gave up.

Autopsy revealed the crabs he ate at the restaurant was poisonous, so…

The cops came to arrest the owners of the restaurant—Mr and Mrs Cooper.

As they were dragged out of the restaurant with cuffs, Ginny was already crying, sitting on the ground.

Ivanna and Robert and Hayden were just trying to touch the parents, and the parents were crying too.

“Mum!!!!” Ivanna was screaming, trying to force her way into the crowd cos the front of the restaurant is filled with crowd from nowhere.

“Dad!!!” Robert was trying the same.

They were both pushed away, and while Robert fell on the ground beside Ginny, Hayden caught Ivanna.

The parents were pushed into the police car, and as the car drove away, Ivanna couldn’t take it.

She broke free from Hayden and started running after it.

“No!!! My parents aren’t killers!!!! Someone did this!!! Someone we know!!!!” She screamed, throwing her shoes off her feet.

The car went out of sight, and she stopped, crying and getting her phone out of her pocket.

Who’s she gonna call? They have no one in the Cooper family, so who?

She was still there when she received a text, and merely reading it, she felt anger consuming her.

★ Now that you know what we’re capable of in the Armando family— and how easy it is for us to stage murder, it’s better to bow for us, isn’t it? We’ve been on this for years, why not throw away your pride and save your parents? I’ll help you get them out of prison and prove their innocence, and in return, they work for my construction company.

Ivanna looked up, her tears falling on the phone screen as her eyes met with Robert who’s behind her.

Definitely, he received the text too cos he’s also staring at his phone.

Together, their eyes went to the other side of the road.

There, a limousine sat with Thaddeus and Penny Armando inside.

They’re both smiling wickedly at the kids, and at the back of their car, Lissa sat like a princess…

She has the same wicked smile as her parents, and it’s sinister.

“Life ruiners! What did we ever do to you!!!!” Robert screamed, running fast to the limousine.

“Our family did nothing! We did nothing!!!! Psychos!!!!!” He yelled, falling but standing immediately.

He resumed his chase, but the limo zoomed off before he could get there, but Lissa’s laughter was echoing from inside the car.

Robert fell on his knees, and Ivanna squatted on that road, going insane.

                    <Present Time>

“Ivanna?” Nino called for the umpteenth time,”

    “Hmm?” She replied, blinking.

“Been calling you since a while ago. You spaced out and wouldn’t answer me just like Hilda spaced out at the Healthood the other time. Are you ok?” He asked, still touching her hair.

When Ivanna finally felt his touch, she tried to step back, but he quickly held her by the arms.

    “Ivanna, i—”

“Good morning, you both!” Robert interrupted, coming out of the room while rubbing his eyes.

Nino let go of Ivanna, and she stepped away fast.

“Preparing for morning training already? It’s still 6,” Robert yawned.

“I don’t think there’d be training today though,” Hilda replied, entering the apartment.

She held big cups of early morning coffee for the three of them, and Ivanna was the first to pick.

She drained her cup fast before the boys picked theirs and drank too.

As they drank, Hilda was looking at them with uncertain eyes, and her palm folded till they were done.

    They returned the cups.

“At this point, I don’t understand if you’re really a cleaner or a kitchen staff,” Nino said, and the blonde woman smiled.

“So…why would trainings be cancelled today?” Robert asked.

“An important member of the mob is returning from a trip, and he’s so damn important that Don Anthony would be throwing him a teaparty tonight at 8.” Hilda said.

“Wait… important to the point of throwing him a teaparty? Thaddeus Armando?” Nino said.

    Hilda nodded.

“Isn’t he in prison like I heard? So he finally decided to pop out.” Ivanna said blankly.

“After what happened to Lissa last night, it makes sense that he’s coming back. He loves his only daughter a lot.” Hilda clarified.

Robert and Ivanna looked at each other, sharing the same look of hate and vengeance.

“Now I need to go see the Don. There must be work for me to do … Guys, see you soon.” Nino said in a rush and left the apartment.

Hilda left the apartment too, and when she got out, she looked down at the coffee cups and held the tray tight

“I’m so sorry…” She muttered, looking at the door with a sigh before leaving.

Inside, Ivanna and Robert are now seated, facing each other speechlessly

“Will you be fine when you see him again? The man who ruined our family?” Ivanna said.

“I’m fine, it’d just be painful, that we can’t touch him. We, can’t touch Lissa, can’t touch his wife Penny too… So far we’re here, we’ll remain under them… Thaddeus is a sociopath, he’s feared.” Robert replied, his hands grabbing the armrest tight.

Ivanna carries the same amount of anger in her bloodstream as she took her phone and stared at Leonardo’s note again without talking.

She must get this. She has to.

[Crimson Cave, 7am ~ Trap Room]

Hayden’s skin moved at the feel of the stuffy hot air from the ventilator, and when he sat up to see his current location, he tried rising, but pains tied him down.

    He groaned.

His body is so full of wounds from last night’s duel with Monika..

Monika beat him blue black — yellow inclusive.

She battered him till he passed out, and he’s only just waking up to meet himself here in this hellhole.

He stared down at his body, and when he saw one of the wounds bleeding, he covered it with his palm and managed to stand, the room feeling like a cage.

He took his palm away from the wound, watching the blood with a deviant look.

The truth is… In a cave full of abnormalities like this—a cave full of scorpions in human form, a cave ruled by the ruthless Monika…he can’t show all of his cards at once, that’d be dangerous.

Pretence helps more than anyone could imagine, at times. Pretending that your strength is limited.

The door opened, and as expected, it was Moo who came to get him.

She only whistled with her mouth, and he stepped out with her.

The gangsters are probably in their morning workout, so no one’s in the corridor as they walked it.

“I must say…your stamina is admirable. You stayed in the ring with Leader for five minutes before you passed out. No one has been able to stay more than two minutes with her before. You’re indeed your parents son, but Leader beat you anyways, and that is to say you have to focus during her lessons from now on, or you’ll suffer greater consequences.” She said.

“You know what I hate most?” Hayden replied, and she looked back at him slowly, the glitters at the corner of her eyes sheening.

“It’s when you talk…your voice is irritating.” Hayden completed the statement and walked past her.

Moo crossed him, and he clenched his jaws.

    “Get. Off!” He spat.

    Moo smiled, cruelly.

“You know what I hate most? When you act mighty, do you even have any idea what’s happening to your precious girl in the House Of Esposito? Maybe Leonardo is fuckin her puxxy and tearing her in his king-sized bed right now!”

“Shut up!” Hayden growled, lifting a punch, but Bradshaw appeared and punched him instead.

Hayden staggered once, then he wiped his bloody lip with his thumb, looking up to see Bradshaw’s annoying face.

“You’re an animal, a big one.” Bradshaw told him and then left for Monika’s hall with Moo.

Hayden was the last to come in, and Monika isn’t smiling trickily this morning. She sat on her throne like an enigma.

“When is the next mission? When am I going to see Ivanna!” Hayden demanded impatiently.

He was already walking to Monika’s throne when Moo blocked him.

    “Stop being rude!”

“When is the next mission!!!” Hayden pushed her, and he received a elbow kick from him.

Hayden lurched, unable to think of anything but Ivanna in Leonardo’s big bed.

He has heard of that man—Leonardo Esposito, the Ghost, Underboss and Torturer of The Outfit.

The three in one who’s an abuser. A big woman abuser.

What if he’s really doing insane things to Ivanna right now?

Ivanna might be a fighter with her stuntwoman skills, but her skills are a child’s play in a place like the House Of Esposito.

“You were staring at her picture during last night’s lessons, and for that, you might get excluded from the next mission.” Monika said.

Hayden’s eyes widened, and he quickly dropped on his knees, crawling close.

“Please… that’d be the last time I’d ever try that. I promise, Leader.”

Bradshaw snickered… nothing excites him than seeing Hayden getting humbled and disgraced.

Monika’s lashes lowered as she stared at Hayden through it, then she relaxed and threw her gaze at the other two.

“The Albania deal is done, I’m sure the brothers are on their way back, but their goods are coming by water. The shipments will get to Chicago tomorrow, and by then… they’ll experience what they’ve never experienced before, a sudden mission will come up,” she said,, riding her eyes back to Hayden.

    “You better prepare well.”

    [Armando Mansion, 10am]

    Emma is back.

Her hand would never remain the same, but she came back to serve.

Her right shot hand has a thick roll of bandage around it, so she’s serving with her left one.

Lissa is awake, but she just sat on bed, refusing to come down no matter the cajole from Penny.

Penny sat beside her, rubbing her face in a gentle caress.

“You didn’t fall into psychotic aphasia after landing in the water, did you? Why aren’t you talking to me?”

“Leo…He found out,” Lissa muttered, slowly looking at her. “We promised each other during our friendship oath to not keep anything from each other, but I kept the Cooper family case away from him. You and dad made me keep it away. I wanted to tell him but you both were against it!”

“And that still changes nothing!” Penny snarled. “The fact that we kept just one secret from The Outfit doesn’t mean we’re out of the mob, and the secret is supposed to stay with our family till death cos every family has its rules! Even now that it got out that you sent the letter, we’re not telling them the reason we sent the letter, never!”

“You’re hopeless…” Lissa shook her head, getting out of bed.

    She started pacing the room.

    “Stop being restless!” Penny shouted.

“You won’t understand!” Lissa shouted right back. “You won’t understand how scary Leo’s anger is! I hate hate hate hateeee when he’s mad at me, and this time, there’s no assurance that I haven’t lost my friendship with him! I can’t lose him, you won’t understand…”

Lissa’s eyes went to Emma for a second, and the look of understanding in Emma’s eyes calmed her down for a while.

“Been a long while here. Home still feels like home…” Thaddeus gravelly voice filtered into the room.

Emma quickly opened the door, and the bald man came in with wide arm which Lissa rushed into.

“Daaad,” she drawled, burying her face in his chest.

“La-lalissa,” Anthony grinned, stroking her hair.

“Took you long enough,” she muttered, raising her face.

“Don’t be perturbed, leave everything to me to handle…” He said.

“Don’t try to provoke Leo though, don’t try it…” Lissa replied.

“Why? Cos of his FTM technique?” Thaddeus smiled.

    He sat in bed.

“Vera is a very smart bîtch. She trained you and her son together, but she still made sure her son is superior by teaching him FTM alone. Even after her death, I still can’t like that woman…”

“Put some respect on her name, she’s my master.” Lissa said.

“Leo is like my second best friend after his father, so I’d never fight him unless he starts it, and if he starts the fight, he might have his FTM, but I gathered techniques over the years too, enough to teach him his place. Also, he’s the only one with his skill, but I have an hidden mob of rogues with my own skills.”

“No, Thaddeus. You can’t have hidden rogues! That’s like treason!” Penny quickly stepped in.

    She sat beside him.

“Relax, Penny. I’m just saying, I’m not starting a war. After all, we’re one united by the omertà oath.” He said.

Penny rested her head on him.

    “So…now what?” Lissa asked.

“You know Anthony loves giving me a grand welcome. There’s a teaparty tonight to welcome me, but we’ll get to the estate an hour before the teaparty. I have to set some things in place first.” He replied.

    [House Of Esposito, Penthouse]

It’s 7pm, teaparty is starting in an hour, but Felicia is already wearing her dress with Island’s help.

Felicia loves parties madly. For the liveliness, the noise and pulsations.

The black dress is a tie-up style, and the tummy area has a big open circle which revealed her navel.

She looks like a barbie, very beautiful with her makeup.

Island was smiling proudly as she helped her with the tie-up at the back of her neck.

“You’re so damn beautiful, Donna. I wish you were curvy like the late Donna though,” she said.

    Felicia faced her.

    “What do you mean?”

“I mightn’t have seen the former Donna Vera in person, but I saw her full pictures, and she’s curvy, she’s hairy, she’s tall, and she has thick laps. Miss Sandra has her curves, Miss Cardi has the thick laps, and Sir Leo is hairy and tall and—”

“Isla? Are you insane?” Felicia changed her tone to angry.

“No no no! I don’t mean it to anger you Donna! I’m just saying that maybe if you had the curves…the Don might treat you better than—”

“Island!” Felicia threw her arm forward, slapping her soundly.

“Donna!” Island gasped, holding the face and stepping back.

“You will not talk about my marital life like it’s your play toy! Thony loves me, and it’s not in your place to give me pointers! Have i been too coddly with you? Have i cosseted you too much?” Felicia glared.

    “I’m so sorry!” Island knelt.

“I planned to execute the Nino plan tonight, but you ruined my mood!” Felicia cut the earring she’s wearing angrily, and white beads rolled around the room.

“Donna! Donna I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it that way but you know Don Anthony still mourns his late wife after-death birthday yearly and I thought it’s not fair! I love you like my own mother and I won’t do anything to hurt you trust me! I didn’t mean to…” Island began crying.

Felicia took a deep breath, then she stared back at her…

“I sent a dress to your apartment already. Go dress up, and when the party starts in an hour, check your phone..” she said.

Island quickly wiped her tears and ran out of the penthouse.

Felicia turned to the mirror, rubbing her bare neck slowly.

“At least…I’m prettier than Unfortunate Vera, and Thony loves me.” She told herself.

    [Don Anthony’s Office]

Don Anthony is still in his normal suit, hasn’t changed to the suit he’d be wearing for the teaparty.

He spent the whole night in this office with Bacardi, both following up on the Albania dealings, and he didn’t say anything about last night’s bridge occurrence, but Bacardi knew he was saving it for when things got light.

    Like now.

She’s already wearing her teaparty dress—a tight dark-green dress which hugged her laps together, causing friction anytime they rub.

Hair in half ponytail and half curly bun—late VV’s favorite style.

“Ask the question you’re dying to ask since last night…why did I make Lissa fall in the river?” She said.

“You have an explanation for that?” Anthony replied.

“And why do I have to explain to you? Are you gonna be like mum? She treated Lissa better than I and Sandra and never saw Lissa’s fault no matter what!” Bacardi shot.

“There was evidence this time, Cardi. You knew she was intolerant to drugs, so you sprayed her with xax and she fell!” Anthony said.

“Cos she deserved it! She’s the reason why Ivanna jumped!” Bacardi retorted.

“Ivanna f+kin jumped on her own! No one pushed her! Not Lissa! Ivanna jumped after a mere necklace!” Anthony claimed.

    Bacardi sighed, nodding to calm…

“You think everyone don’t value their stuffs like you? She gives a necklace that much value, but you? You don’t even remember mum’s favorite color anyone. Nights like this, I hate you!” She snapped, rushing out.

“Cardi!!” Anthony’s voice followed her, but there was no stop to her furious walkings till she was out of the office building.

She saw Robert close to the sinners assembly building. He’s cleaning with Hilda since the party is only for the upper members of the mob.

He’s not gonna go, and so is Ivanna.

Bacardi went for him, and he gasped in surprise when she pulled him into a corner behind a wall.

    “Miss…”

    She frowned.

“Cardi!” He corrected, and she sighed, getting calm.

“Are you ok?” He asked, and suddenly…her hand travelled up his chest. She touched, holding eyes with him as her palm went down his chest, going into his belt—his p+nts.

    Robert froze.

    “I….”

“What?” She whispered, feeling his breathings quickening and his throat moving irregularly.

“I…um… nothing,” he smiled awkwardly, wanting to squeeze his thighs, but she parted it with her fingers before taking his c+k, squeezing it gently.

His legs began breathing inside his sneakers, his chest thudding uncontrollably with nervousness.

He held his moan inside like a curse, but he was left helpless when she rubbed her thumb on his pee-hole.

“Cardi…” He moaned slowly, sweating on the brows and chin. He grabbed the pillar behind him, and his palms sweated on it.

Bacardi smiled, tracing her finger on his cap cap shortly before removing her hand and ending the pleasure.

“I’ll tell a guard to drop a suit for you, and a dress for your sister. You both should come for the party.” She said.

    “But it’s for the—”

“Top mobsters? Screw that.” She tapped his cheek before leaving.

Robert wiped his sweat, and Nino came to meet him in that corner.

“I’ve been looking for you and Ivanna everywhere! The Don wants I and Ivanna in his office!” He said.

“The Don?” Ivanna came out with Hilda.

    Nino nodded.

    [Park, Some Minutes Later]

“Bob!! If anyone told me I’d miss you this way! I’d have cussed! You were gone for one day and I missed you madly!” Sandra said dramatically as the Rolls Royce entered the park.

It was one of the special drivers who went to pick the brothers up at the airfield, and as they came down from the car, Sandra rushed to Bobby first, jumping on him in a tight hug.

    You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng

“You ate enough sweets when you were young, the girl child in you shoulda died” Bobby said, giving her a sway before dropping her.

She went to Leonardo who’s busy getting his suit out of the backseat..

“I won’t hug you, Sand ” he said without giving her a stare.

“Are you still mad at me? But it’s been a week. Can you please pardon me?” She said cutely.

“When you act cute, you look ugly.” He replied, and she scoffed.

He gave her a little pat in the head though, and she smiled.

That’s his own little way of saying they’re cool.

“Sir, your attention is needed in the Don’s office!” A guard came to report.

“But the teaparty is in thirty minutes,” Sandra muttered.

“We only just arrived, and there’s already a come-to-the-office order? Did dad study Mood Ruining in school?” Bobby hissed.

“Follow up, it’d be fun.” Leonardo said with meaning, leading the way.

    Sandra followed too.

When they arrived at the office, they met the whole Armando family present.

Penny, Lissa, and Thaddeus whose back is on the room, but when Leonardo entered, Thaddeus turned with a large smile.

“Bloody uncle is back from his prisoncation?” Leonardo said.

“C’mon!” Thaddeus gave him an hand. They shook hands, then snapped fingers and hit their arms, a kinda brotherhood greet-code.

Bacardi is in the office, too, but Don Anthony is absent. He must have gone to freshen up.

“My teaparty is in less than thirty minutes, so I’d just use this period to reset things,” Thaddeus said.

Leonardo didn’t even have to search the room before he saw Ivanna. Her glare was enough to call him, just that this time, she’s glaring venomously at Thaddeus Armando.

Seeing her, he grinned slowly, and when their eyes met that fluttering second, Ivanna maintained the eyes lock, giving him the glare too.

Yeah. He likes that cutting glare. It’s as entertaining as her whips.

“Last night, Stanley bridge, my daughter fell in the harmful water,” Thaddeus started.

“I know you’re gonna mention my name next, Uncle Thaddeus, but in my defense, I made your daughter fall cos she’s the reason a member fell inside first,”  Bacardi said.

“A member who has no reason to be a member in the first place? Are you talking about Ivanna Cooper?” Thaddeus replied glaringly.

At the mention of her name, Ivanna’s eyes rolled up.

For the first time since she got here, her eyes met Thaddeus’

“I and my brother were initiated my the Don, and Ghost made us take the oath in the presence of the mob crowd! We have the tattoo, so I see no reason why we should still be treated less significant than the dirt under your daughter’s shoes!” She fired.

“Are you talking to me…in that tone? Who the hell do you think you are!!” Thaddeus faced his wife.

Penny revealed her bag, and inside the bag, Thaddeus pulled a sword.

In a heartbeat, the sword was on Robert’s neck, ready to chop his head off his neck.

    But…

Even Ivanna isn’t where she was before. She’s not beside Robert anymore.

Thaddeus eyes travelled across the room, looking for her.

She didn’t possibly vanish, did she?

Then he saw her, in a new dimension completely.

Ivanna is behind Penny—his wife, and she’s holding a long combat knife to Penny’s neck, too.

    When did she get there?

    How did she move?

Lissa was gobsmacked as she stood. Despite the fact that she’s beside Penny, she has no idea when Ivanna got there too.

Bacardi was stunned too. Sandra was wide-eyes. Bobby frowned.

    Nino’s mouth is wide.

“FTM,” Thaddeus muttered, recognizing that move.

“Fast Technical Movement in full. Hurt my brother, and I’ll slice your wife’s throat open!” Ivanna threatened, her knife pressing firmly on Penny’s soft trembling throat.

A loud, insanely mad laughter suddenly echoed in the room, so crooked and shrilly.

    From Leonardo.

He’s on his seat, arms on his father’s desk, body leaning forward as the laughter sieved out.

    “Leo?” Thaddeus called in shock.

Leonardo’s shrill laughter stopped, and he rolled his dark eyes up to meet him like a daredevil’s.

“It’s her luck. I only gave her a hint, and my pet caught on. Now,…” He stood tall, threatening.

“She’s simply using your wife to practice. If you refuse to let go of her brother, and she kills your wife, it’d be collateral damage.”

    TBC.
