The throne room doors opened for the elders. Kael sat on the high seat, back straight, jaw tight. He already sensed something was wrong.

The eldest elder stepped forward, the one with the carved wolf-staff.

“Alpha Kael Draven,” he said, bowing his head just enough to respect rank, not fear. “The Moonbond has awakened in your walls.”

Kael’s expression didn’t change, but his stomach dropped.

“I did not ask for any bond,” he said, voice sharp. “I do not want it.”

The elder’s gaze hardened. “It is not a thing you choose. It chooses you.”

Kael rose to his feet slowly. The guards nearby stiffened, sensing his temper.

“I don’t care for old tales,” he growled. “The Omega girl is nothing. A stray I brought in out of duty.”

“A stray?” the elder said quietly. “Then why do you feel her presence even now?”

Kael clenched his fists. He did feel something, a tug, faint but real, like a whisper he could almost hear. It angered him. It felt like a trap. Like chains.

“She is a threat,” Kael said. “She brings weakness.”

“Or power,” the elder replied. “The Moonbond is fate’s weapon. But fate cuts both ways.”

Kael stepped down from the throne platform.

“I do not need fate,” he said through clenched teeth. “I make my own path.”

The elder studied him with sad eyes. “Be careful, Alpha. Hatred can bind as tightly as love. One day your heart may burn for what your pride rejects.”

Kael turned away. “Remove the girl if you truly fear her,” he snapped. “Or I will.”

The elder’s voice rose, deep and firm.

“You may break bones, Kael Draven. But you cannot break prophecy.”

Kael’s jaw locked. He wanted to tear fate apart with his teeth.

“She will not be my bond,” he muttered. “I will not let her.”

The elder only sighed. “You can fight her. You can fear her. But you cannot outrun the moon.”

    ***

    Later

Lyra sat alone in her tiny room that night, hugging her knees. Her hands still smelled faintly of soap and herbs. Her muscles ached from work, but her chest ached more from the elder’s words.

She didn’t want to ruin anyone.

She didn’t want to be tied to Kael.

Then why did her chest warm when she thought of him?

She hated it. She hated herself for it.

She pressed her palm over her heart, trying to calm it.

Why him? she thought. Why me?

The moonlight spilled through her small window, soft and silver. It touched her skin like a hand. Her breath hitched. Something inside her stirred, deep and wild.

    Her heartbeat quickened.

Her wolf pushed against her skin, restless.

“Not now,” she whispered, shaking. “Please… not now.”

But the moon didn’t listen. It pulled. It called.

Her chest filled with heat, longing and fear tangled together.

    Find him.

The whisper wasn’t a voice, it was instinct. A need.

Lyra pressed her back against the cold wall, digging her nails into her arms.

“No,” she breathed. “He doesn’t want me. He hates this. I won’t be a burden. I won’t.”

Her eyes burned, but she refused to cry again.

    Not for him.

Yet her wolf whined inside her, pacing, aching, not for love, but for connection.

And far across the castle, though she didn’t know it, Kael lifted his head and scowled at nowhere, feeling an unwelcome tug in his chest, a faint pull toward the west wing.

    He gritted

“Stop,” he muttered at the feeling, as if the bond could hear him. “I will never be ruled by you.”

Lyra curled into herself, shaking, fighting what she didn’t ask for.

Kael fought it like it was war.

    Lyra wasn’t awake.

    But she wasn’t resting either.

She stood without meaning to stand.

Her bare feet stepped onto the cold floor.

Her hand touched the wall for balance.

Her breathing slow, like she was dreaming and walking at the same time.

Her body moved toward the Alpha’s wing, the bond tugging her like a string around her ribs.

She didn’t whisper. She didn’t think.

    She just walked.

    ***

Two guards outside Kael’s chamber snapped to alert when they saw her drifting forward, eyes half-open, lost.

    “Halt,” one barked, stepping forward.

Lyra didn’t hear. She kept walking.

    The guard grabbed her arm.

She blinked, waking like someone pulled her from deep water. Her heart thudded hard, panic sliding into her chest.

    “I… I don’t… I wasn’t…” she stammered, breath shaking.

“Trying to sneak into the Alpha’s room?” the second guard sneered. “Pathetic little Omega.”

    “I wasn’t… I didn’t even know…” Lyra whispered, voice cracking.

Shouts echoed from down the hall as Kael approached, cloak trailing behind him. Ronan followed at his side.

    “What’s happening?” Kael demanded.

The guard shoved Lyra forward. She stumbled to her knees in front of Kael’s boots.

“Caught her trying to enter your chambers, Alpha.”

    Lyra shook her head quickly, terrified. “I swear I wasn’t… I wasn’t awake…I don’t know why…”

Kael’s jaw hardened. His eyes burned with anger.

“You think you can control me through this bond?” His voice was ice. “You think you can crawl your way into my chambers like a desperate thing?”

“No!” Lyra cried softly. “I swear, I don’t want this…”

“Lies,” Serena’s voice chimed from the stairway. She descended slowly, a delighted smile on her lips. “Look how weak she is. Crawling to him already.”

Lyra shook, tears burning behind her eyes, her body too tired to stand.

Kael looked at her like she was poison.

“You shame yourself. And you shame my walls.” His voice cut like steel.

He turned to the guards. “Punish her.”

Gasps echoed down the hall. Even Ronan flinched.

    “Alpha…” Ronan began.

    “Do it,” Kael snapped.

The guards grabbed Lyra’s arms and forced her fully down. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” She didn’t fight, she was shaking too hard, breath short, chest tight like she couldn’t breathe air right.

“Please,” she whispered. “I don’t know why it happened. I didn’t choose this.”

Kael looked down at her. For a second. But pride drowned it.

“Touching my doors without permission is disrespect. You will kneel and learn your place.”

Lyra lowered her head. She didn’t argue. She didn’t move.

She knelt because she had nothing left to stand with.

Her small body trembled as a guard struck her back, not enough to break bone, but enough to bruise, enough to sting, enough to shame.

Serena’s smile widened like a flower blooming in blood.

“She’ll learn,” Serena purred. “Or she’ll break.”

Lyra’s vision blurred. She clenched her teeth but still gasped from the pain. Her wolf whimpered inside her.

Kael watched, face hard as stone as if this punishment protected him instead of crushing her.

When it was done, Lyra barely stayed upright. Her knees shook on the cold stone floor.

    Kael turned away. “Remove her.”

Ronan’s jaw clenched, but he nodded. The guards lifted Lyra by the arms, she couldn’t stand on her own. Her head hung, hair hiding her face.

    Serena’s voice followed her

“Sleep well, little Omega. Your place is lower than dirt.”

    Lyra didn’t answer.

    She couldn’t.

Her legs dragged across the floor as they carried her back. Her vision dimmed. Her fingers curled weakly.

They dropped her on her thin mattress. Someone muttered, “Pathetic,” before the door shut.

    Lyra curled in on herself.

    Her back throbbed.

She whispered into her pillow, voice faint, breaking.

“I didn’t ask for this. I just want to go home.”

Outside, the moon shone through her window.

And the bond, the one she didn’t want pulsed inside her chest.

Bluey already packed her clothes and is now laying on the bed.

Her mind drifted back to what  happened earlier. The dark street, the thugs, the way fear had crawled up her spine, until he appeared.

Her lips curved into a tiny smile.

“He smelled like lavender.” She whispered dreamily, giggling to herself.

“So nice. Who even smells that good while fighting?” She rolled onto her stomach, kicking her feet lightly.

“The way he fought off those bad guys… he didn’t even sweat. Just one punch and they were on the ground. He’s so strong.”

Her cheeks flushed as she buried her face in the pillow.

“And that voice….” She mumbled, muffled by the fabric. “Deep, calm, well kind of scary but – ugh – so hot.”

Bluey sat up again, pressing her hands to her warm face.

“Gosh, Bluey, not like you even know what he looks like! He was wearing a mask,” She groaned sadly, pouting.

    Still, she couldn’t stop smiling.

“Maybe fate will let me see him again,” She said softly, staring out the window where the morning light touched her face.

    “My masked lavender hero.”

A phone buzzed in her bag. She unzipped the side and brought it out, it’s an extra phone. She doesn’t use it more often, but since she lost her main phone she has no to use this one instead.

She brought it out, the buzz lighting up the screen with a message:

✉️ Don’t forget why you’re going to school. Be a good girl and don’t lose focus. ✉️

Bluey read it and smiled softly, her heart fluttering with a mix of nerves and excitement.

“So excited….” She said under her breath, tossing her phone on the bed and continuing to pack, humming a small tune as she folded her clothes neatly into her bag.

    ★  𝐆𝐚𝐞𝐥’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 ★

Morgan’s fingers brushed against the cold doorknob as she pushed it open.

Gael sat on the edge of his table, sleeves rolled up, eyes glued to the glowing screen.

    “Dad,” Morgan called softly.

“Sit.” He didn’t even look up.

She obeyed, quietly taking the seat across from him. . Only the faint ticking of the clock and the sounds of the keyboard tapping filled the air before he finally raised his eyes to her.

“What’s your ranking status as of last semester?” Gael asked, voice sharp but calm.

    “Well… I’m still an Ace…” Morgan hesitated.

“And? I expect nothing less… I’m asking what number?”

    “Number 5.” She replied.

“Just 5? Can’t you take the top spot? Is it really that difficult?”His expression hardened.

“It is, Dad. Given that the person in top 1 is far, far ahead. I’m doing my best, Dad,” She defended, trying not to raise her voice at him.

Gael leaned back in his chair,  spinning his pen in his hand.

“Well, your best isn’t enough.” He said coldly.

Morgan’s gaze dropped to her knees. She could feel his disappointment pressing on her chest like a weight. She clenched her fists under the desk.

“Just because number 5 is an Ace, it makes you comfortable?” Gael continued coldly.

Morgan’s shoulders stiffened, her fingers clutching the edge of her nightgown.

“Dad, I’m already in the top five. You act like that’s nothing. I worked so hard to get there.” She muttered, her voice trembling between frustration and hurt.

Gael shut his laptop slowly and leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable.

“Being fifth means there are four people better than you, Morgan. Four people stronger, smarter, more disciplined. I didn’t raise you to be average.”

“I’m not average!” Morgan snapped, eyes glistening.

“Do you have any idea how much pressure it takes just to stay where I am? Everyone’s aiming for the Aces. They all want our spots.”

“And yet you’re still standing at number five !! Stuck and comfortable. Do you plan to live the rest of your life chasing scraps behind people who work harder than you?” Gael cut in sharply.

Her lips parted, but no sound came out. She looked down, blinking rapidly to keep her tears from falling. Not tears from hurt, but rage.

    “I’m trying, Dad.” She said.

“Try harder.” His tone softened, but his gaze remained firm. “You’re a Sinclair. People of my peers  will judge me by your performance, and I don’t tolerate mediocrity. Not from you.”

Morgan stood, her heart sinking under the weight of his words.

    “Do you understand?” He asked.

    “Yes, Dad,” She said quietly.

Gael looked back at his laptop, already dismissing her.

“Goodnight, Morgan. Don’t disappoint me again. School starts tomorrow, so you better up your game. If you keep slacking, Bluey might surpass you eventually.”

She glared hard at him and walked out of the study, the door clicking softly behind her.

As she walked down the hallway, her eyes burned with rage and fury.

“I’ll show you, Dad. I’ll show you I’m not a disappointment.”

    ★NEXT MORNING★

The security was taking Morgan and Bluey’s luggages into the black sedan waiting outside the estate building.

“Take care of yourself back in school, dear. Always make me proud,” Corazon said softly, her hand brushing through Morgan’s hair.

“I always do, Mommy,” Morgan replied with a faint smile.

“Go ahead, you shouldn’t be late..”Corazon said and hugged Morgan tightly before letting go.

Outside, the car engine purred quietly. Bluey stood waiting by the passenger side, clutching her small backpack, her posture straight but tense.

“How long is the—” she began, but Morgan’s sharp voice cut her off.

“You have no right or permission to speak when not told to,” Morgan snapped, glaring at her coldly. “So shut up, because I’d like to enjoy my peace and quiet on this journey.”

Without waiting for a response, Morgan slid into the car and slammed the door hard enough to make Bluey flinch.

Bluey glanced back toward the porch. Her mother stood at the corner, arms folded but smiling reassuringly. She gave Bluey a small wave.

Bluey forced a polite nod, inhaled quietly, then climbed into the car beside Morgan. She remained silent and determined not to say another word.

    —-

Hours Later, The driver took a long turn down a lonely road. Both sides were swallowed by thick bushes, twisting branches reaching out like claws.

Bluey pressed her face against the window, unease settling in her stomach. She wanted to ask where they were going cause this doesn’t look like a proper destination.

But one glance at Morgan who was too busy on her phone, her sharp tone still echoing in her head, made her bite her tongue.

Minutes passed before they reached a tunnel guarded by masked security officers. Their black uniforms and hidden faces made Bluey shiver.

“ID?” One of them asked flatly.

The driver handed it over. The guard scanned it, then nodded once.

    “Sinclair’s resumed.”

The gate opened, and they drove through the tunnel until the road widened to reveal a massive structure looming ahead.

The building was sleek and intimidating, every corner gleaming with mystery.

Bold letters stretched across the front:

    𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐀 (𝐌𝐈𝐀)

Below it, the school’s motto was carved in marble. Bluey squinted, reading aloud under her breath.

    > “Luck is an illusion?”

Her voice trailed off, the words sinking into the cold morning air.

The driver stopped in front of the main building, and the girls stepped out. Morgan barely looked up from her phone as she dragged two of her suitcases toward the entrance.

Bluey followed, pulling her own luggage, her eyes darting around the courtyard where students hurried past with their bags, all heading into the same looming building.

She climbed the marble stairs and stepped into what looked like a reception hall. The air smelled faintly of metal and mint.

“New student?” The receptionist asked without glancing up.

Bluey nodded and handed over her registration form.

Now that she thought about it… this school didn’t even show up online when she searched for it. How was that possible?

The woman scanned the form, then reached under the counter. She slipped on a pair of black gloves before taking Bluey’s wrist and clasping a thick black bracelet around it. The metal felt cold against her skin.

“Don’t take it off,” The woman said simply.

Before Bluey could ask why, the bracelet flickered with blue light, and a mechanical voice echoed through the entire hall:

🔊 “Player 090 registered. Welcome to MIA.”

Bluey flinched, staring at the bracelet as glowing numbers appeared on its surface.

    It displayed: PLAYER 090 – SIGILS: 10

“Player 090? And what are Sigils?” She whispered, confused.

“You’ll figure it out soon,” A calm voice said behind her.

Bluey turned to see a tall girl with dark hair with bangs and sharp eyes. She smiled, extending her wrist to show her own glowing bracelet.

“I’m Natalie,” She said. “Player 053.”

    “Bluey.”Bluey mumbled, almost inaudibly.

They walked down the chatty hall, the echo of their footsteps bouncing off the towering walls.

“Aren’t we supposed to be students?” Bluey asked, frowning. “Then why Player?”

    Natalie smirked without looking back.

“We are students. Study hard, like really hard cause it’s important, your grades matter a lot. But academics aside…”

The massive double doors at the end of the hall swung open on their own, revealing the world beyond as students trooped in.

“MIA……is a gambling den, if you want to put it in a dirty word… It’s hell on earth.” Natalie said, stepping through.

“What?” Bluey gasped, her steps faltering as her eyes widened at the sight before her.

It looked nothing like a normal academy. The courtyard stretched endlessly, with white towers piercing the clouds and bridges of glass connecting each building.

Students moved in groups, their black bracelets gleaming with glowing numbers. Some whispered trades, others held digital cards that flickered with stats and points.

The air itself thrummed with tension, competitive, electric.

They reached the Assembly Grounds, where  the students stood gathered before an enormous holographic screen.

Bluey was looking around and saw Morgan who was already near the front, laughing with Trevor, Gomez, and Juniper.

“The rankings.”Natalie nudged her chin forward.

The monitor flickered, static buzzing through the air before the MIA crest appeared—then the list of Players rolled down in glowing letters.

🔊 “Attention, all students. Player rankings for the first semester will now be displayed.”

Every head turned up. Every breath seemed to hold.

Bluey’s bracelet vibrated softly, the number 10 glowing brighter as the name began to load onto the towering holographic screen, the words gleaming in bold silver letters that reflected across the assembly.

“They’re points. Or you could call it currency.”Natalie grinned, arms crossed.

The speaker blared again, the deep automated voice echoing through the assembly.

🔊 For New Students — The Fifteen Rules of Mistmore Academia

    1. Attendance to all classes, competitions, and assemblies is mandatory.

    2. Respect and obedience to higher-ranked students are required at all times, especially the Ace Level.

    3. Physical altercations are only permitted for higher-ranked students. (Meaning only someone ranked higher can challenge or punish a lower one.)

    4. All gambling must occur in school-approved games under supervision.

    5. Cheating results in an immediate loss of 50 Sigils.

    6. Students start with 10 base Sigils; falling below zero leads to expulsion.

    7. Rankings are updated weekly and determine privileges and access.

    8. Academic performance such as assignments, exams, and projects affects Sigil points.

    9. Academic dishonesty leads to point loss and remedial competitions.

    10. Students must participate in at least one competition weekly to maintain or up their levels.

    11. Borrowed Sigils must be repaid with interest.

    12. Official bracelets must be worn at all times.

    13. Gossip or leaking information results in sigil deductions.

    14. Violations may lead to demotion, forced challenges, or expulsion.

    15. Death = Elimination.

“Death?” Bluey echoed under her breath. “What does elimination mean?”

Natalie smirked slightly, but her tone turned grim. “It means exactly what it sounds like. Better to be expelled than eliminated, don’t you think?”

Bluey’s throat tightened as her gaze drifted back to the monitor.

Something told her this place wasn’t just a school. It was a playground.

    A dangerous one.

Almost immediately, the heavy doors creaked open, and the entire hall fell silent.

Hades walked in, flanked by Hyce and Hugo.

Hyce had headphones over his ear with a lollipop in his mouth, while Hugo just walked in casually like he was bored and uninterested.

Hades was dressed in all black—black boots, black gloves, and a fitted black jacket that framed his broad shoulders.

His mask covered half his face, cold and unreadable, giving him an aura that made the air feel heavier. Every step he took echoed, deliberate and powerful.

🔊 “All hail the King of MIA.”

The voice boomed through the loudspeakers. Instantly, every student lowered their heads in unison.

Bluey blinked, frozen, until Natalie nudged her sharply.

    “Down, now,” She whispered.

Confused, Bluey bowed her head too, her heart pounding.

A long silence followed, then the sound of Hades fingers snapping.

Just like that, the entire hall straightened. The tension dissolved, and students began to disperse as though nothing happened.

     “What was that?”Bluey stared, wide-eyed.

“A reminder. Whenever you see Hades, bow your head.”Natalie brushed her hair aside.

“I guess he’s the one with the eight thousand Sigils?” Bluey asked quietly.

“Exactly. Every student here bows to him… well, except the other Aces.” Natalie gave a half-smile.

Bluey’s eyes flicked toward the far side of the hall, where Morgan stood with Trevor, her phone still in hand and her expression unbothered.

“Including Morgan too. So she’s an Ace?” Bluey mumbled under her breath.

Natalie’s head snapped toward her. “Wait—you know Morgan? Personally?”

“Not really,” Bluey replied quickly. “Um… my parents work for her family, and her dad’s the one paying my tuition.”

“Oh.” Natalie’s tone softened. “That explains why you’re here.”

They finally reached the Spade Dormitory, a massive hall buzzing with noise. Students were laughing, arguing, and challenging each other to games.

The energy was wild, competitive and electric.

“Here,” Natalie said, stopping by a door. “That’s my room. Yours is right across. Settle in, and call me if you need anything.”

“Okay.” Bluey hesitated, holding her bag. “Um… Natalie?”

    “Mm?”

“How does someone move up? Like… level-wise?”

Natalie smirked, leaning against the doorway. “Right. I forgot to tell you. To rise in level, you have to surpass someone else.”

     “Meaning?”Bluey frowned.

“Let’s take Hades for example,” Natalie explained. “If you ever have more than eight thousand Sigils, you’ll push him to Player 002. Everyone else shifts down. It’s a constant game of survival and power.”

“So someone’s win is another person’s loss.” Bluey tilted her head. “In other words… make sure you always have enough to stay on top.”

     “Smart girl.”Natalie grinned.

“I’ll go in now.”Bluey smiled faintly, though her heart still raced.

She turned the knob and stepped into her room.

The conference room hummed with quiet authority. A long table, holo-screens, a ring of stern-faced administrators as well as Miss Dora, a young principal in her early 30’s,  watching like judges. At the round table sat the Aces: Trevor, Hugo, Hyce, Morgan.

Hugo toyed with a glass pyramid, Hyce idly traced patterns on his bracelet, and Morgan scowled at the screen as if it had personally offended her. Trevor tapped his fingers on the table, impatience coloring every movement.

The door opened. Hades walked in last, all-black silhouette cutting through the room. He moved to the head chair and sat as if he’d always owned that space. The administrators watched, expressionless.

“Always late. You’re not the only busy person here, you know?” Trevor said, eyes narrowing.

“Late is relative to who’s worth waiting for.”Hades said.

“Oh, don’t get cute with me Hades. Stop acting so damn ignorant. You always act all high and mighty like MIA is going to be put on hold without you in it..!”Trevor snapped.

“Exactly. I don’t see why you’re so pissed since you already know.”Hades said casually, not sparing him a glance.

    Trevor scoffed, leaning forward.

“You’re so damn arrogant! You think because everyone bows to you, you’re some kind of god? In case no one told you, it’s irritating and…..-”

“You talk too much for someone who keeps losing to me. Like seriously, does your obsession with me have a limit? Like f+k off..!!” Hades cut him off.

“Can you at least try learning some manners here, Hades. In case you forgot, we’re all equals in this room. You don’t see us acting all superior and fussy.”Morgan snapped.

“Equals? I’d rather die than consider myself as an equal with a pea sized brain and a turn off of a body.”Hades said back at Morgan.

    Morgan clenched her fists.

“Oh, screw you.” Trevor stood up, slamming both hands on the table. “ You think you can talk down to everyone here because you’re Player 001? Newsflash , no one here actually likes you.”

“Jeez, I love him. He’s my bro.”Hugo chipped in and fist bumped with Hades.

“Then leave, Problem solved.” Hades said coldly to Trevor.

Trevor laughed under his breath, shaking his head.

“You’d love that, wouldn’t you? You can’t stand me and guess what, I can’t too.”

“I’m out of here.”The chairs screeched as Trevor pushed his away.

The room went silent as the administrators watching like they’d seen this a hundred times before.

“Take one more step, and I’ll make sure you never walk back into this room again, not as an Ace, not even as a student.” Hades’ voice cut through, low and warning.

    Trevor froze, his back turned.

    “You’d kick me out?”

“Try me.”Hades leaned forward slightly, voice like ice.

    Hyce whistled under his breath.

“Same old drama, can you both stop. It’s becoming unhealthy for my ears..” He muttered.

    Morgan sighed.

“You two need therapy, or a cage,” Hugo added lazily.

    “Or both.” Hyce shot back.

“You all can keep on with the meeting. I’m not wasting another minute breathing the same air as this psycho.”Trevor said.

Hades didn’t reply , he just sat there, silent and still, while Trevor twisted the door knob. Everyone looked at him, waiting for him to sit back down cause they know damn well he ain’t crossing that door.

The room stayed quiet, tension humming like static. Trevor finally shut the door and walked back to his seat and sat down.

    Finally, Morgan spoke.

“So… what’s today’s agenda again? This place is itching my skin.”She asked.

“First, we are going to talk about the welcome back to school Frat party, before we talk about the quarantine assessments.” Miss Dora said.

“What about the party? ”Hugo asked.

“As you all know, the annual ritual once again is going to be between you Aces. So to be fair to everyone, we are going to let you decide on which two people are going to compete at the frat party.” Miss Dora said.

“As well as which game you want to engage in” Another said.

“Great, I would like to participate, I’m volunteering. I mean if I win which I obviously am, That’s 100 Sigils for me, the more the merrier.”Morgan said.

“You know damn well that even if you get 200 Sigils right now, you’re still going to remain in number 5. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” You need at least 300 surpass me. If that’s what’s your trying to imply.” Hugo said.

“Why are you so insecure? I never said I was going to compete with you.” Morgan said.

“And who are you planning on competing with? Me? Trevor? Or don’t tell me you’re actually thinking that you could actually beat Hades in a tournament.”Hyce scoffed.

“And? Do you think I can’t?”Morgan asked and instantly, Hades looked up from his phone.

Morgan maintained eye contact with him, not looking away.

“Really? You want to compete against me?”Hades asked, actually impressed.

“What? Do you think I can’t do it?”Morgan asked, still not breaking eye contact with him.

“No. Actually I’m quite impressed, I’ll give you what you want. In fact to make it more interesting, Let’s place a new stake..”Hades said.

“What do you mean?” Morgan asked.

“Instead of just the usual 100 Sigils, I’ll give you 500 of my Sigils if you can win against me.”Hades said.

“Do you think I’d believe you’d actually do that?”Morgan scoffed.

“I’m serious. But if you loose, 500 Sigils will be deducted from you.”Hades said.

“Morgan, don’t listen to him, he’s only trapping you.”Trevor warned.

Morgan thought deeply, she’s going straight to number 4 if she pulls this off, but if she loses, well…. She’s not going to drop to a Knight but, it’ll be difficult to get those points back.

But, her dad would be impressed if she pulls this off, it’ll be a huge step. She looked at Hades and he had this smirk on his lips like he already knew her answer, even before he asked.

“I accept your challenge. So what  game are we playing?” Morgan asked.

“We’ll let fate decide.”He smirked and she nodded.

“Let’s proceed with the quarantine assessments,” One of the administrators said finally.

    They all nodded.

Hyce went first. He rose from his chair, rolled his neck once, and stepped into the scanner in the center of the room. The light swept over him, reading his vitals and combat balance.

    “Combat Stability: 92.”

“Still impressive as always Hyce, honestly I’m jealous..”Hugo smirked.

“Train harder.”Hyce said and sat back down.

Hugo shook his head as he stood next.

The machine hummed again, flickering a softer blue before stabilizing.

    “Combat Stability: 84.”

“Good enough to take you down, though.” Hugo shrugged.

Morgan exhaled loudly and walked forward in her heels. The scanner’s light ran from her fingertips to her chest, slowing slightly at the pulse of her bracelet.

    “Combat Stability: 77.”

“Maybe if you weren’t constantly surrounded by idiots, you’d score higher.” Hyce spoke.

    Hugo chuckled.

    She turned with a glare.

“Don’t start with me, wide ass!!”Morgan snapped.

“At least I’m still prettier than you’ll ever be. And at least guys wanna f+k my @ss, unlike your bony a$s!”Hyce snapped back and Hugo burst out laughing.

    Hades chuckled silently.

Hyce snorted, but before he could respond, the admin called.

     “Trevor del Mundo.”

Trevor stood up, his eyes still burning from the earlier argument. Without a word, he moved into the scanner.

    “Combat Stability: 89.”

He gave Hades a cold look as he walked past him, deliberately bumping his chair.

    Then it was quiet.

    “Hades Laurel.”

    The room stilled.

He stood slowly, towering, mask catching the dim light. The air seemed to shift as he stepped into the center. The machine hesitated, its lights flickering before the whole display began to distort.

The readings climbed—90, 95, 98—before the system hissed and shorted out completely.

A sharp beep. Smoke from the console.

    Everyone stared.

“Combat Stability…” The system tried to read, glitching. “…..un…..undefined.”

    No one spoke.

Hades looked at the broken monitor, then back at the administrators.

“Guess it’s not built for me,” He said, voice low.

“Or you’re not built for it.”Hyce leaned back in his chair.

“He’s off the charts again?!.”Morgan’s eyes flicked between Hades and the administrators.

The lead admin sighed quietly, jotting something in his file.

“Assessment postponed. We’ll review his data manually.”

Hades’s phone beeped, it was a message from Albert. Hades smiled widely as he walked towards the door literally jogging and left.

“Is he going crazy?”Hyce asked Hugo.

    ★𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐦★

Bluey sat on the edge of her bed, phone pressed to her ear as she looked around the strange, dimly lit dorm room.

The walls were dark gray, the emblem of Spade stitched neatly on the curtains. Everything about the place screamed silence and discipline.

“Mom,” she said softly when the line connected, “I already arrived.”

“Oh, that’s good, sweetheart. How’s the place?” Maureen’s gentle voice came through, warm and comforting.

Bluey glanced around again and shuddered. “Honestly, this place is giving me creeps.”

“What do you mean?” Maureen asked, concern lacing her tone.

Bluey hesitated. She wanted to tell her about the eerie environment, the player system and the Sigils but she remembered the rule—gossiping or revealing anything about the academy’s system could get her expelled.

    “Bluey?”

“Mom, it’s just that… everyone seems too serious,” she said instead, forcing a small laugh. “But don’t worry, I made a friend. Natalie—she’s nice.”

Maureen’s voice softened. “That’s good, honey. Just keep being yourself, okay?”

Bluey smiled faintly, but before she could respond, there was a sharp knock at the door. She jumped.

“Mom, someone’s at the door. I’ll call you later, okay? Love you!”

“Love you too, Bluey. Stay safe.”

Bluey hung up, slipped her phone under her pillow, and turned toward the door, her heart beating faster than she’d admit.

Bluey walked to the door, hand on the knob, but before she could open it, the door swung in and Natalie stepped inside, all smiles, followed by three other students.

    “Natalie…” Bluey blinked, startled.

“Hi!” Natalie beamed, brushing her hair back. “So, I wanted to introduce you to my squad. This is Loci, Nia—his girlfriend—and Zayne.”

    “Hi.”Bluey smiled shyly.

“Hi, Bluey!” Nia chirped, her eyes lighting up. “Oh my goodness, she’s so cute and small!”

“I’m not small,” Bluey pouted, crossing her arms.

“Keep lying to yourself,” Loci teased, leaning casually against the wall with a grin.

“Don’t mind him..”Zayne chuckled under his breath.

Natalie laughed and threw an arm around Bluey’s shoulders.

“Welcome to the Spade dorm, Bluey. These guys might act tough, but they’re harmless… mostly.” Natalie grinned.

“Are you indirectly calling us weaklings huh?”Loci smirked.

    “Who me? I don’t know.”Natalie laughed.

“Aren’t we in rival dorms?” Bluey asked, glancing between Zayne and Nia with a little confusion.

“That’s only during dorm competitions, silly.” Nia said, waving it off and looping an arm around Bluey’s shoulders.

“Chill, we can all be friends when there aren’t dorm rivalry on the line.”Nia said.

“That’s right,” Zayne added, flashing a grin. “And you’re so pretty, Bluey.”

    Thanks… Zayne.”Bluey’s cheeks turned faintly pink. “

The group settled around her bed, the air light and teasing. They started talking about the school—how wild tournaments could get, how the levels worked, and the strange strictness of the rules.

“So, which family are you from?” Nia asked curiously, twirling a strand of hair. “Everyone here are legacy students.”

Bluey hesitated for a second, then said softly, “I’m here because of Gael Sinclair.”

    The room went still.

“Sinclair?” Loci repeated, his expression shifting. “As in Morgan’s dad? Are you related to him?”

“No… my parents work for them. He sponsored my admission.”Bluey said slowly.

“Damn. You must be special then. No one gets in here if you don’t come from a powerful family or have insane connectios..”Zayne whistled lowly.

Natalie’s smile dimmed a little, but she quickly masked it.

“Well, whatever the reason just be careful, okay? Especially around their daughter, Morgan… unless….do you two get along?.”Natalie asked.

    Bluey shook her head.

    “I hope she doesn’t bully you.”Loci said.

The bell rang sharply through the dorm, followed by the crisp voice from the speakers.

🔊“Check your timetable and resume classes immediately.”

Bluey froze, halfway through arranging her clothes in the drawer.

“Class? We just resumed today! I’m not even done packing…”

All four of them turned to look at her like she’d said something ridiculous.

“You’ve got a lot to learn, baby girl,” Loci said with a smirk, sliding his hands in his pockets.

“This isn’t your regular high school. Around here, time’s money and every second you waste, someone’s already earning Sigils ahead of you.”Loci added.

“Come on, newbie. You’ll catch up soon enough.”Nia laughed, looping her arm through Loci’s.

“Hurry and grab your logbook. First impressions matter here, especially to the instructors.”Natalie nudged Bluey’s shoulder gently.

“Great. My first day and I’m already behind.”

Bluey sighed, fumbling for her logbook.

“Welcome to MIA,” Loci said over his shoulder as they headed out. “……where sleep’s optional and survival’s mandatory.”

“Zayne stop scaring the wits out of the girl.”Loci kicked his leg.

    “Ouch..bro!”

    ★𝐒𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚★

    𝐒𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 ⚔️

The clang of steel echoed across the wide training dome. Bright lights reflected off the polished floor, each strike followed by sparks and grunts. The players—all clad in black combat overalls, protective arm guards, and steel-lined shield masks—moved in perfect rhythm. Their breathing synced with every swing, every dodge.

At the far end of the hall stood Hyce.

Despite being ranked Player 02 and one of MIA’s most feared Aces, swordsmanship had never been his strength. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” His grip faltered, his stance slipped. He exhaled sharply and raised his sword again, determination etched on his sweat-damp face beneath the mask.

“Focus your core, not your hands,” the instructor barked from the sidelines.

    Hyce’s jaw tightened.

He swung harder, faster. Each strike carried the weight of his frustration. His sword met the holographic target with brutal force—shattering the projection before the timer beeped red.

“Still unstable,” the instructor noted. “You’re using strength, not control.”

Hyce yanked off his shield mask, his chest heaving.

“ Listen Hyce, you’re good and talented. Try harder because failure isn’t an option for an Ace.”

    He nodded.

“Go spar with him,” The instructor ordered, his voice echoing through the training hall.

He pointed toward Sergio, whose eyes hadn’t left Hyce from the moment he stepped in.

Hyce didn’t speak. He simply nodded, slipped his mask over his face, and drew his sword.

Sergio smirked, rolling his shoulders as he approached.

“Guess it’s my lucky day,” He murmured, lowering into stance.

    The whistle blew.

Steel clashed instantly. Hyce moved first, swift and precise, forcing Sergio to parry hard just to keep up.

Their blades rang sharply through the air, the rhythm fast and merciless. Sparks snapped as Hyce struck again, this time harder, forcing Sergio to stumble back a step.

“Whoa, easy there. You trying to kill me or prove something?” Sergio said between grunts, blocking another blow.

Hyce didn’t answer. His movements were  cold and too aggressive to be casual practice. Each strike came with precision, no hesitation, no humor.

“I’m surprised you’re still here.” Sergio teased, trying to lighten the tension as their swords locked. “Aren’t you supposed to be the strongest Ace after Hades?”

Hyce shoved him off without a word, spinning his blade in a tight arc and striking again. Sergio blocked, barely.

“Come on, Hyce,” He said, breathing heavier now. “You’ve been extra mean to me lately. What did I do this time? Exist?”

“You talk too much.”Hyce’s tone was flat when he finally spoke.

He swung again, his blade slashing the air so close it cut through the edge of Sergio’s sleeve.

“Or maybe…..” Sergio smirked, ducking under the next blow. “……you just hate that I’m not gonna give up on you easily, pretty boy.”

That hit a nerve. Hyce’s next attack was faster, heavier and too aggressive for a simple spar. Sergio barely blocked in time, the impact rattling through his arm.

“Damn, you really are pissed.” Sergio laughed breathlessly, circling him. “You know I like you, right?”

Hyce stopped and sword tilted slightly.

“Then stop liking me.”He said, his voice low through the mask.

    “Yeah, definitely pissed,” Sergio muttered.

“What do you want? I thought I told you not to talk to me,” Hyce said coldly, not even glancing at Sergio as he unstrapped his gloves.

    Sergio hesitated before blurting.

“Are you really still dating Gomez?”He asked.

Hyce froze for a second, then turned slightly, his expression unreadable.

“I thought I already replied to you. What else do you want?”

“It doesn’t look like it anymore.” Sergio continued, stepping closer.

“You were all over him last semester. Everyone knew how obsessed you were with him—but now? You two look… distant.” Sergio said.

Hyce didn’t respond. The silence between them stretched, heavy and tense.

    “C’mon, please, just answer me—”

“We broke up because he cheated. Are you satisfied now?” Hyce cut in sharply.

“Huh? What do you mean, he cheated?”Sergio blinked.

Hyce’s jaw clenched. His tone stayed calm, but his eyes were pure ice.

“He fucked a girl, and had the guts to tell me it meant nothing.” He said flatly.

    “Oh.” Sergio’s voice dropped. “Hyce, I- ”

“I hate dishonest people.” Hyce interrupted again, his voice sharper this time.

“You wanna be straight? Stay straight. You wanna be gay, be gay. But don’t pretend to be what you’re not, don’t two-time. It’s fucking disgusting.”Hyce said.

Sergio stared at him, unsure of what to say. For once, Hyce didn’t look like the cold, composed guy, he looked hurt.

“So, I have a chance then?” Sergio asked softly, his voice almost trembling.

Hyce slowly turned, removing his shield mask. His glare was sharp enough to make Sergio swallow hard.

“C’mon, say something.”Sergio swallowed hard but held his gaze.

“Give me a reason to give you a chance.” Hyce tilted his head slightly, his tone low and teasing.

    Sergio took a breath.

“I can make you happy.” He said, his words tumbling out.

“I’ll never hurt you or your feelings. I really, really like you, Hyce. It’s not just about the sex we had last time. I swear it’s not.”

The room seemed to still. The faint hum of practice swords and distant voices faded as Hyce stepped forward, his eyes never leaving Sergio’s.

He stopped just inches away. His gloved hand lifted slowly and pressed against Sergio’s stomach, firm and deliberate.

Sergio’s breath hitched as Hyce’s palm trailed upward, gliding over his chest, lingering just below his collarbone.

Hyce’s gaze was intense, almost a mixture of danger, curiosity, and something unspoken. His voice was a whisper that brushed against the edge of a threat and temptation.

“You think you can handle me, Sergio?” He murmured, his lips curving slightly. “You think liking me is enough?”

“I don’t care how hard it is… I still want you.”

    Sergio’s heart pounded.

Hyce leaned in , so close Sergio could feel his breath on his skin.

“Careful,” Hyce said quietly, his tone dark and smooth. “Wanting me is one thing. Surviving me… is another.”

Sergio blinked as Hyce stood on his toes, his breath ghosting against Sergio’s lips. Sergio froze, his heart hammering against his ribs as soft murmurs spread through the class.

🗣️“Are they really about to kiss”

🗣️“Hyce never gets this close to anyone asides Gomez.”

🗣️“Oh my God, this is insane.”

Hyce tilted his head slightly, his lips just a breath away from Sergio’s. For a moment, it felt like time stopped until Hyce’s gaze darkened.

He pulled back with a small smirk

“You’re not worth it yet,” he said flatly, then he turned, walking away with his sword slung casually over his shoulder, as if nothing had happened.

    The students erupted in whispers.

Desiree removed her shield mask and walked over, smirking.

“That was intense,” She said, her eyes flicking toward Hyce’s retreating figure.

Sergio ran a shaky hand through his hair.

“I think my heart’s gonna jump out of my body.  He’s… he’s just so intense to be around.” Sergio said.

“Welcome to Hyce’s gravity, babe. Once he pulls you in, there’s no getting out.” Desiree grinned, crossing her arms.

“Why do I feel so weak around him? I don’t like it, I should be the one in control not the other way around.”

“No time to be weak. Your competitor is glaring daggers into your soul right now.” Desiree nudged Sergio lightly.

Sergio blinked, following her gaze and sure enough, Gomez stood across the training hall, his fist tight on his sword, the plastic of his water bottle bending under the force of his other grip.

“He can keep staring,” Sergio said with a half-smirk. “At least I know he broke up with Hyce. He can f+k off.”

“You really wanna start a war, don’t you?” Desiree arched a brow, amused.

Sergio tilted his chin up, meeting Gomez’s burning stare before looking away like it didn’t bother him at all.

Across the room, Juniper stood beside Gomez, uneasy.

“Gomez, hey. Why does it matter if he’s talking to Sergio? You two already broke up, right?”

Gomez’s eyes flickered to her, rage boiling over.

“Juniper, can you just leave me alone!” He snapped, his voice echoing through the hall.

He grabbed his shield and sword, stomping toward the sparring zone.

Juniper’s chest tightened. She clenched her fists, watching Gomez throw himself into a reckless duel with another player. Her voice came out in a low, bitter whisper only she could hear.

    “I hate you, Hyce…”

    ★ 𝐆𝐲𝐦 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 ★

The gym was massive, so large that it had its own elevator connecting the three training floors.

The walls were lined with glass, giving a view of the campus grounds below, and the sunlight that poured in reflected off the sleek chrome of the machines.

Everything inside screamed money, rows of high-end treadmills, reinforced weight racks, digital punching systems, and training drones imported from overseas.

It wasn’t just a school gym—it was a fortress of strength and status.

Most of the students in the gym were Jacks and Pawns, the lower ranks of the academy hierarchy. They were spread out across the open floor, some lifting weights, others practicing combat drills under the instructor’s supervision.

The air was filled with grunts, the whir of equipment, and the echoing clangs of barbells being dropped on polished black mats.

Natalie and Nia were side by side on the treadmill, their ponytails bouncing as they ran in rhythm.

Across the room, Loci and Zayne were effortlessly lifting heavy barbells, their muscles flexing with each curl.

Meanwhile, on the mat not far from them, Bluey was struggling with a single dumbbell that looked like it weighed more than her soul.

She grunted, face scrunching in determination as she tried to lift it with both hands. The dumbbell barely left the floor before she dropped it again.

Her palms were red, her shoulders trembling, and she sat back with a defeated pout.

“I hate this gym,” She muttered under her breath, glaring at the innocent weight like it had personally wronged her.

Just then, the glass doors at the far end of the gym slid open. Three students walked in.

Natasha perfectly poised, her blonde hair tied high with not a single strand out of place, entered first.

Bryan and Aris followed close behind, both with that same smug, untouchable aura that came with being Morgan’s most loyal lackeys.

Natasha’s gaze swept across the room until it landed on Natalie. She scoffed, rolling her eyes with a smirk before brushing a strand of hair from her shoulder and turning toward the back training room with Bryan and Aris in tow.

    Bluey’s jaw dropped.

“There are two Natalies?” She blurted out, eyes wide.

Nia hit the stop button on her treadmill and grabbed her water bottle, catching her breath as she gave Bluey a look.

     “That’s Natasha. Her twin.”

Bluey blinked rapidly, glancing between Natalie and the door Natasha had just walked through.

    “Wait really?”

“Yep,” Nia said, taking a sip of water. “But trust me, that’s where the similarities end.”

“She looked… mean.”Bluey frowned, still staring at Nia.

    Nia gave a short laugh.

“Mean is an understatement. Natasha and her buddies are basically Morgan’s little soldiers. They do all her dirty work so she can keep her hands clean.”

“So… like, her lackeys?”Bluey’s lips parted slightly.

“Babe, can I have some water, please?” Loci said between reps, his arms flexing as he lifted the weights with ease.

Nia rolled her eyes but grabbed another bottle from the bench.

“You’re lucky you’re cute,” She muttered, walking over to him and pressing the bottle into his hand.

“Thanks, baby,” He said, flashing a grin before gulping it down.

Bluey, still sitting cross-legged beside her tiny dumbbell, tilted her head curiously.

“Don’t you guys get along? She—uh, Natasha—rolled her eyes when she saw you.”

    Natalie’s expression darkened instantly.

“I hate that bi+ch of a sister,” Natalie said, her tone flat but edged with irritation.

     “But… why?”Bluey blinked, surprised.

Natalie sighed, hopping off the treadmill.

“They fight all the time. Mostly because Natasha’s one of Morgan’s lapdogs. She joins in whenever Morgan decides to make someone’s life miserable.”Nia said.

“Morgan… bullies people?”Bluey frowned, fiddling with her fingers.

Natalie gave a sharp laugh that held no humor.

“Bullies is putting it nicely. She is always looking for someone new to humiliate. Especially anyone who looks weak or doesn’t know the system.”

    Bluey’s throat tightened a little. “Oh…”

Natalie’s tone softened when she noticed the look on Bluey’s face.

“Don’t let her intimidate you, Bluey. I know your parents are loyal to Morgan’s family, but this is your life. Stay away from her, okay? She’s no good.”

     “I will… I promise.”Bluey nodded quietly.

Nia leaned on Loci’s shoulder with a sigh.

    “I’m tired.”Nia pouted.

“Just finish up and we’ll go get food.”Loci rubbed her chin.

“I wonder which Aces are going to have a tournament at the Frat party. I kinda want to see Hades,” Zayne said, dropping the weights with a thud before grabbing a towel to dry the sweat glistening on his chest.

“Me too. It’s been forever since he actually participated,” Loci said, adjusting his wristbands.

“I remember asking him about it once, and he said he wasn’t interested because, well he quote that ‘everyone’s a weakling.’”Loci said.

“That guy’s so savage.”Zayne let out a short laugh.

Bluey, sitting cross-legged on the mat and rubbing her aching arms, blinked.

     “There’s a tournament?”

“Yeah,” Nia said, still running at a steady pace on the treadmill. “It’s an annual ritual for the Aces only. Last year it was Hyce versus Trevor.”

    “Who won?” Bluey asked curiously.

“Trevor,” Natalie replied, not missing a beat.

“Wait—Hyce is Player 002, right? How did he lose?” Bluey tilted her head, genuinely confused.

“He lost because it was sword fighting,” Natalie explained.

“He’s strong, but that’s not his best skill. Trevor, on the other hand, was born for it. The truth is, no matter how powerful you are, there’s always one weakness.”

    Bluey nodded thoughtfully.

“I guess everything is my weakness at this point,” She mumbled, pouting as she stared down at her small dumbbells. “Aren’t there simpler tasks? My hands are aching already.”

“Who even had the idea of enrolling a baby here? You’re lucky that’s your beginner’s lesson. When our set started, we had to run around a 200-hectare field—three times. I thought I was gonna die.”Nia laughed.

“What?” Bluey gasped, eyes wide. “You’re kidding!”

“Geez, Bluey,” Natalie huffed, increasing her treadmill speed. “You’re such a drama queen.”

Zayne chuckled under his breath and turned his head slightly, locking eyes with Bluey’s.

He smirked when he saw her face turn red as she quickly looked away, pretending to focus on her dumbbells again.

The dining hall was massive, ceiling chandeliers glimmered above the rows of students lined up in ten separate queues, each waiting as chefs in crisp uniforms served steaming trays of gourmet food.

The buzz of chatter and the clinking of utensils filled the air, blending into the faint sound of music playing through the hall’s speakers.

At one of the long tables near the center, Bluey sat with Natalie, Nia, Loci, and Zayne, already halfway through their dinner.

“Man, this pasta hits different,” Zayne said between bites.

“Of course it does,” Natalie replied. “

“Everything here feels too fancy. Even the water tastes expensive.”Bluey poked at her meal, glancing around the hall in awe.

“Because it probably is,” Nia said, laughing.

Suddenly, Loci’s wrist alarm beeped. He sighed, wiping his mouth and pushing back his chair.

“Gotta go, guys,” Loci said, slinging his bag over his shoulder.

     “Where are you going?”Bluey blinked.

“To deliver Hades’ dinner,” He replied simply, walking toward the counter where a tray had been set aside with the Ace’s emblem on it.

“Wait, you mean the Hades?” Bluey whispered, looking both thrilled and nervous.

Before anyone could answer, a loud voice came from the entrance.

“H3’s are coming!” A student shouted, breathless as he ran inside.

Immediately, Hades walked in, Hyce and Hugo flanking him like shadows. The hall went dead silent. Every living soul bowed instantly, the air thick with fear and reverence.

“Bro, I can’t believe you dragged me here because of a girl,” Hugo muttered under his breath, hands in his pockets.

“Who the fuck is Bluey Cruise!” Hades’ voice thundered through the hall, echoing off the walls.

Gasps rippled across the room. Natalie and Nia froze, eyes wide as they turned toward Bluey. Zayne leaned back with a smirk, watching the chaos unfold like it was the highlight of his day.

Bluey’s spoon clattered from her hand. Her heart hammered in her chest as every eye turned to her.

Slowly, she stood, head bowed low, trembling.

Hades stopped right in front of her. He reached down, hooked a finger under her chin, and forced her to look up. His smirk was dark, amused, dangerous, and curious all at once.

“It’s really you,” He said quietly, his voice deep enough to make her skin prickle.

“Where the f+k have you been all my life?”

Before she could react, Bluey gasped as her feet suddenly left the ground. Hades had lifted her effortlessly, slinging her over his shoulder like she weighed nothing.

    She gasped.

But Hades just chuckled lowly, walking toward the door while students watched in stunned silence.

“Put… me… down!!” Bluey shrieked, pounding her fists against his back.

    #UNEDITED ‼️
Melissa stood there with a vicious look on her face.
“Angelo’s mom… Is the boss lady?” He thought with shock written on his eyes
“Are you deaf? I just asked you to pull of your mask” Melissa said and scoffed.
Brandon gulped down and clenched his fists tightly around Matilda’s hand.
“Let’s run.” He whispered and immediately pulled her as they took to their feet immediately.
“Catch them!” Melissa exclaimed and the guards began shooting at them.
Brandon pulled Matilda into a safe corner before bringing out two guns. He aimed the guns to his right and left side before he began firing the gun, gunning down those men one by one.
“Ahh!” Matilda screamed and covered her ears when she couldn’t bear hearing the loud noises produced by the gunshots.
Brandon ducked and bullet flew pass him. Brought out a grenades then threw it the gate. It blew up the gate, together with some of the men standing there
“Ahh!!” Matilda shrieked when a bullet almost hit her. She turned to see it was Melissa, shooting at them.
“Matilda, I know it’s you!!” She screamed out.
She actually went to check on Matilda only to find two corpses with Matilda missing so she immediately understood what was happening.
“You two aren’t getting alive out of this I swear!!” Melissa screamed as she shot at them.
Brandon aimed at Melissa and made to shoot but he just couldn’t. Each time he looks at her, he’s reminded of Angelo. How could be possibly kill her with no remorse.
“F+k!!” He cussed and faced the other men.
The more he gunned them down, the more they seem to increase. One thing is for sure for him: He’s not getting out of this place alive… But he’ll make sure his mother does.
He removed his mask before facing Matilda
“Mom I want you to run to the gate and no matter what, don’t ever turn back.” Brandon said and Matilda’s eyes widened.
    “But I can’t abandon you… You’ll-“
“Mom! Please…” Brandon said and Matilda stared at him. Tears escaped her eyes and she hugged Brandon tightly.
“I love you son” She muttered and with that, she began running to the gate with tears in her eyes.
“No!! Don’t let her escape!” Melissa screamed madly.
Brandon shielded Matilda and he began shooting at the men who were targeting her. Matilda kept running with all her might without turning back.
“F+k!” Brandon hissed when a bullet hit his arm.
“No!!!” Melissa shouted when Matilda ran out of the gate.
She made to go after her but Brandon didn’t hesitate to shoot her leg.
“Ahh!! F+k!!” She went down, holding her bleeding leg
Brandon grabbed from behind and aimed his gun at her head.
“Shoot me!! And I won’t hesitate to blow up her brain!” Brandon said menacingly and the men stopped shooting at him.
“I know you can’t do it, you’re too weak!!” Melissa laughed but her laughter immediately turned to cry when Brandon implanted another bullet on her leg.
    “Argh!!!”
“You really think so?” Brandon smirked.
“Just because you’re Angelo’s mom you think I’ll forget all the maltreatment my mom went through because of you?” Brandon said, tightening his grip around his gun.
    Melissa gulped hard.
    “Brandon..”
“Drop that gun or I guarantee you she won’t live the next minute” Marco said.
Brandon looked front and his eyes widened when he saw him bringing in Kaylee who had her mouth and hands tied.
    “Kaylee…” His eyes widened.
Kaylee looked at Brandon as more tears escaped her eyes..

    <ASYLUM>
Romeo and Juliet got down the car in front of the asylum and began walking to the entrance of the asylum.
Romeo got the shock of his life when he got a call from Rosalie’s family, telling him she was interned in an asylum.
They both walked in and luckily they bumped into Rosalie’s mother.
“Aunt.” Romeo called and she broke down in tears.
“Romeo, I’m sorry… Please forgive my daughter” She began crying loudly and Romeo’s eyes couldn’t help but widen.
He looked at Juliet before facing Rosalie’s mother.
“Umm… For what exactly?” Romeo asked but she just kept crying.
“I think it’s best if you hear from yourself” She sniffed.
She took them to the room where Rosalie was.
“Miss please take your drugs” The nurse tried to cajole her but all she did was to scream.
    “Leave!! Don’t touch me!!”
With a puzzled look on his face, Romeo slowly walked in the ward but he was stopped.
“Sir, you can’t go in any further”
Rosalie looked at him and her eyes widened. She immediately rushed to him and gripped his shirt tightly.
“Please. Save me.. She’s going to kíll me!!” Rosalie cried.
    “W.. What?”
“I swear I didn’t mean to kíll her. I just wanted her out of your life so I did that. You were supposed to be mine from the start” Rosalie cried.
“What are you talking?” Romeo looked at her with a puzzled look on his face.
“Your wife… Rosalie is responsible for her déad” Rosalie’s mother said with a heavy heart.
    Romeo’s eyes immediately widened.
“I love you Romeo, she wasn’t good enough for you. When I thought we’ll finally be together, she had to to come into your life. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” Damn you!!” Juliet screamed and made to attack Juliet but the nurses held her back.
“You b*+ch! I hàte you!! Leave my man!!” She kept screaming. One of the nurses immediately injected her and it didn’t take a minute for her to fall asleep.
Then shocked look on Romeo’s faced still remained there as he looked at Rosalie who was taken to her bed.
“Ro… Romeo” Juliet made to touch him but he immediately stormed out of the place.
    “Romeo!”

“You were so perfect Candy… I wanna scream to the whole wide world that I love you!!” Angelo lifted her up, turning her around
“Hey, put me down!” Harmony laughed.
Angelo placed her down and immediately claimed her lips.
“Where is Cassidy and Kaylee, thought they said they’ll come” Tasha said, pressing her phone.
“I’m also worried too. Try calling her phone” Barbie said.
Tasha nodded and immediately did so but her line was unreachable.
“I think her phone is switched off” Tasha said.
“Let’s go to her house then” Evan suggested and they all nodded then began heading to where their car where packed.
Angelo brought out his phone to check something. Actually, earlier he discreetly placed a tiny camera on Brandon which he connected to his phone.
He turned on the camera and his eyes widened at what he saw. Kaylee was tied up very badly with some men pointing their guns at them and what he saw the next minute shocked him to the core.
    “M.. Mom?” He stuttered.
“What are you looking at?” Harmony asked and looked at his phone
    Harmony’s eyes widened immediately.
“No, this can’t be” Angelo immediately entered his car then drove off.
“Angelo!!” Harmony screamed as she watched his car drive away.
Winter walked out of the company while smiling to herself. She can’t believe she won too, but the problem is that she’ll be partnering with Harmony.
“How I’m I supposed to do that?” She thought but her thought were cut short when Chris immediately hugged her tightly.
“Congrats Win!! I’m so proud of you, I knew you’ll win” Chris smiled widely.
Winter rolled her eyes and pushed him away.
“Stop that… I didn’t give you permission to hug me” Winter frowned.
When she saw the happy look on his face, she couldn’t help but mellow down.
The fact that he was the only one and Glen who supported him made her smile.
“Which restaurant should we go, I got paid for one of my part-time job so let’s celebrate for your victory. So should we go for pork, chicken, steak or…”
His eyes widened when he felt Winter’s lips press on his cheek. That caught him completely off guard that he couldn’t help but blush.
“What.. What was that for” He asked slowly.
“Let’s say a thank you peck” Winter scoffed and began walking away.
She stopped when she was hearing his footstep behind her so she turned to see him still standing there on his spot.
“So are we going for the chicken or you wanna stand there and stare at me” Winter said.
Chris smiled and walked to her
    “Let’s go” He said.
Winter nodded and stylishly held his hand.
“Eww why are your hands so sweaty. Yuck!” Winter rolled her eyes but didn’t release his hand.
Chris looked at her and held her hand tighter as they walked.

The passerbys kept looking at Matilda who kept running. Her clothes looked so dirty and with how skinny she looked, they thought maybe it’s a mad woman.
She was sure she was already far from the clan but she couldn’t afford to get caught again, that will mean all what Brandon has done was in vain.
She didn’t know when she got the the highway and just then, a car was speeding to her direction.
“Ahh!!” She fell on her butt in fear and the car screeched to a halt in front of her.
“Hey are you crazy! What’s wrong with you!!” The driver of the car got down.
Matilda immediately stood up and clamped her hands together.
“Please help me! I need you to take me to-“
“What’s happening here?” The back door opened and Daniel (Angelo’s dad) got down the car.
His eyes widened when he saw her.. What the hell is he seeing?
Matilda’s eyes brightened when she saw him too..
“Daniel!” She exclaimed and quickly rushed to him.
“Ma.. Matilda?” Daniel called in shock.
Years ago, Diego announced to the whole world that his wife díed. How come he’s seeing her right in front of him? Is he hallucinating?
    Daniel had to blink severally.
“Daniel, please you have to help me.. Melissa, she’s going to kill him” Matilda cried out and Daniel’s eyes widened even more.
    “What?”

    <RED MAMBA>
Inside the torture room, sounds of punches and kicks were heard as Marco kept punching Brandon, pouring out all what Brandon did to him.
He gave Brandon another punch on the tummy and he spat out blood.
“No.. Brandon” Kaylee thought as rivers of tears couldn’t stop pouring down her eyes.
She doesn’t know what hurts more, the fact that the person she once saw as her father kidnapped her or the fact that she’s been forced to watch this heartbreaking view
Marco punched Brandon on the face and his nose bled even more.
“Is that all you’ve got? C’mon, unchain me let’s fight.. Man to man you coward” Brandon said weakly with a scornful smirk on his face.
That infuriated Marco even more and he made to punch him again.
“What are you waiting for? Finish him off before Diego comes back” Melissa said, walking in the room while smoking.
“Boss was kind enough to spare my life and you want me to kill his son. Are you nuts?”
Melissa didn’t waste a minute in slapping him.
“Watch the way you talk to me old rat” Melissa smirked then faced Brandon with a smirk on her face.
“I was actually planning on kílling you sooner or later but you willingly fell into the lion’s den” Melissa laughed.
“I can’t let you and your wretched mother steal away what belongs to me. All of Diego’s wealth belongs to our son and no one else’s” Melissa smirked.
    “Our son?” Brandon asked confusedly.
“Oh my bad, I forgot you never knew… Well I guess it’s time you know. Angelo is Diego’s son” Melissa said, puffing out her smoke at his face.
    “What..” Brandon’s throat ran dry.
“You heard me right. You two are step brothers, well not for long because you’re dying here” Melissa picked her gun.
“Since you two are lovers, I’ll do you the greatest favor by killing you two together so you will get to live your happily ever after. I know, my generosity will be the end of me” Melissa laughed before aiming her gun at Kaylee.
“Who is dying first. Her or you?” Melissa smirked.
“No!!! Don’t you dare touch her!!” Brandon screamed out.
“Fine… Then I guess you’ll go first” Melissa shrugged and changed her target to Brandon.
Kaylee began screaming in tears but it was inaudible since they gagged her.
Melissa clicked on her gun with a smirk on her face and her finger went to the trigger.
Angelo ran in the room while breathing heavily. His eyes widened when he saw the scene.
“No… Mom!!” Like flash, he ran to Brandon and shielded him with his body.
Melissa pulled the trigger almost immediately and Kaylee’s eyes widened.

Aurora woke with a sharp gasp.
Her skull throbbed violently, each heartbeat pulsing like a hammer against the inside of her head. She blinked through the haze, her vision swimming until the room around her began to settle into shape.
A bedroom. It’s warm and cozy with soft amber lights that glowed from the lamps. A luxurious duvet covered her legs. Heavy curtains blocked out the night.
She shot upright only for a wave of pain to slice through her forehead, forcing her to wince.
A deep voice broke through the silence.
    “Easy, Aurora. Slowly”
    Her breath hitched.
    Antonio DeLuca sat beside her.
Perfectly composed. Hands folded with a faint, grim smile carved on his face as if he had been waiting for her to wake… evaluating her.
    Her pulse spiked.
She remembered the underground, the stairs, the padlocked doors, the disturbing paintings, the voice, the hit.
    And now…this.
She swallowed tightly. “W-Where am I?”
“In one of the guest rooms,” Antonio said smoothly, leaning back in the chair. “You fainted. In the hallway”
Aurora’s fingers curled around the blanket. “I… fainted?”
His eyes sharpened just a little… too keen, too knowing. “Yes. You must’ve been overwhelmed. New environment. Stress. Maybe you skipped dinner” He shrugged, smile deepening. “Happens to the best of us”
    Her stomach twisted.
    He was lying.
    And he was too calm.
Aurora forced her expression into soft confusion. “I… I thought I was somewhere else…”
Antonio tilted his head, amusement flickering in his gaze. “Somewhere else? Like where?”
    Her heart stumbled.
    This was a test.
    A trap disguised as concern.
She lowered her eyes, voice barely above a whisper. “I must’ve been dreaming”
Antonio chuckled lightly… too lightly. “Dreams can be strange, can’t they? Especially when one is stressed” He leaned forward slowly, placing a gentle hand on her wrist. “But you were never anywhere but this house”
Aurora lifted her gaze to meet his.
He held her eyes too long.
A cold shiver crept down her spine.
“Of course,” she murmured with a soft, embarrassed laugh. “It must have been a dream. I guess the wine affected me more than I thought”
His smile widened, satisfied. “Good girl”
Aurora kept her face composed, even as bile rose in her throat at the phrase.
Antonio stood slowly, his shadow stretching over her. “You know, Aurora…” he began, “this family takes care of its own. And we protect the people we welcome into our home” He glanced around the cozy room, then back at her. “You’re safe here. As long as you trust us”
The words slid into the air like a warning disguised as a lullaby.
Aurora nodded gently. “I trust you, Mr. DeLuca”
His eyes gleamed with dark approval.
“Good.” He turned toward the door. “Nicholas was worried when he realized you were missing. I told him you were resting. He’ll check on you in the morning”
Aurora’s breath hitched again. “Does he know about… me fainting?”
“No.” Antonio opened the door, pausing in the doorway. “And he doesn’t need to”
    Their gazes locked.
    A silent threat.
A silent reminder of who held the power here.
He smiled one last time, that same grim curve of his lips.
    “Sleep well, Aurora”
    The door clicked shut.
The moment he was gone, Aurora’s mask collapsed. Her trembling hands clutched the blanket as cold sweat dripped down her spine.
    He knew.
He knew she went down there.
    He knew she saw something.
    And he wasn’t angry.
    He was calm.
    Which meant one thing:
    Antonio had a plan.
    Aurora slowly exhaled, steadying herself.
“Then so do I” she whispered.
She lay back down, closing her eyes not to sleep, but to think and prepare.
    Because the game wasn’t over.
    It had just begun.
Aurora lay still for several minutes after Antonio left, trying to steady the trembling inside her chest. But the pounding in her head lingered… and so did the dryness in her throat.
    She swallowed hard.
    Her lips felt like sandpaper.
“I need water” she whispered to herself.
She slipped out of the soft bed, her legs a little unsteady, and opened the door quietly. The hallway was dim and silent.
She found the kitchen lights still on.
A young maid stood at the counter rinsing some plates. She turned when she heard Aurora enter, her eyes widening a little, fear flickering there for a brief second.
Aurora opened a cabinet silently, took out a glass, and filled it with water. She drank half of it in one long, thirsty pull before setting the glass down gently.
Then she moved closer to the maid.
The girl’s hands stilled on the plate. She tensed.
Aurora kept her tone casual. “What work does Antonio do?”
The maid froze. Her shoulders shot up, and she quickly turned back to the sink.
    “Uhh… a businessman” she muttered.
Aurora tilted her head. “What kind of business is that? At least I need to know what business my future father-in-law is into” She gave a soft, polite laugh, as if she were simply making conversation.
The maid’s fingers slipped, almost dropping the plate. “No… please leave me alone”
She hurried away from Aurora like a panicked animal, disappearing into the pantry area.
Aurora watched her flee, a cold, determined smile touching her lips as she murmured, “I’m going to ruin you, Antonio”
She turned to head back to her room when suddenly a hand grabbed her arm.
    Aurora spun sharply.
    It was the same maid.
Her face was pale, her breathing uneven. She kept glancing over her shoulder, eyes darting around the kitchen as if expecting someone to storm in at any moment.
The maid’s grip trembled around Aurora’s wrist.
“I… I’ll tell you about his business,” she whispered, voice cracking.
    “Please… come into my room”
    Aurora nodded.
“Lead the way” she whispered back.
The maid nodded shakily and tugged her toward the servants’ corridor, glancing behind them every few seconds as if he could appear at any moment.
The maid led Aurora through a narrow hallway meant only for the servants. Aurora noticed how the girl’s hands shook as she fumbled with her keys. She pushed her small room door open and quickly ushered Aurora inside.
The moment the door clicked shut, the maid locked it twice.
She pressed her back against the door, chest rising and falling in sharp breaths. Her eyes were red, watery and terrified.
Aurora stepped closer. “You can tell me. You’re safe with me”
The maid covered her mouth with both hands, trying to steady her trembling.
Then, in a whisper so fragile it felt like it could shatter, she began.
    “Antonio… he does human trafficking”
    Aurora’s breath stilled.
The maid continued, her voice cracking. “He abuses them… locks them up in the underground rooms. Then he sells them off… like things… like animals. Some of them never make it out. Some die before he even sells them”
Tears slipped down the maid’s cheeks uncontrollably.
Aurora sat beside her slowly, letting the girl take her time. But the maid shook her head, needing to speak, needing someone to finally hear the truth.
“My sister is there…” she whispered, her voice trembling violently.
“He took both of us. We were kidnapped from our village outside Milan. He kept us locked for weeks. But one day, I was taken upstairs to serve the family. And he told me… told me that if I ever mentioned anything… if I breathed a word of what happens underground…”
    Her voice broke.
    “He would kill her”
Aurora felt her stomach twist, her fists tightening.
The maid wiped her tears hard, trying to stay quiet so no one outside would hear.
“He… he abuses the girls himself. And when he gets tired of them… or when they start fighting… or crying too loudly… he punishes them. I hear them sometimes”
She squeezed her eyes shut. “At night. I hear them screaming”
Aurora fought to keep her composure, her heart cold and burning at the same time.
The maid continued, her voice barely audible now.
“He mustn’t know I told you this. Please. Please don’t let him know I said anything”
Her fingers dug into Aurora’s arm as she whispered urgently, “Run away from this family. Don’t marry into them. Antonio is evil. Evil”
Aurora swallowed, her voice steady. “What about Nicholas? Does he know?”
The maid shook her head vehemently. “No. I swear he doesn’t. He’s clueless. Antonio hides everything from him. He uses Nicholas as bait. Sets dates for him, plans events, even announced publicly that he’s searching for a wife for his son”
Aurora’s eyes widened. That explained everything. The public announcement, the forced arrangements… the perfect opportunity for innocent girls to walk willingly into the trap.
The maid continued, tears slipping down again.
“Many girls showed up… all believing they were special. Believing they could marry into a wealthy family. But it was a lie. A trap”
She sniffed hard. “He chooses the ones he wants and locks the rest”
Aurora felt a deep chill crawl beneath her skin.
She looked at the maid who is small, terrified and fragile and yet she had dared to speak the truth.
Aurora placed a hand on her trembling shoulder. “I’m going to help you. And your sister”
The maid’s eyes widened in shock and fear. “Please… please don’t promise what could get you killed”
Aurora leaned close, her voice a silent vow.
“I’m not running. I came here with a purpose. And now… I’m ending him”
Aurora’s words hung in the air.
The maid stared at her with wide, terrified eyes, her breath catching in her throat. For a moment, she looked as if she wanted to take the words back, as if she regretted even letting Aurora step into her room.
“Aurora…” she whispered shakily, voice trembling. “You don’t understand the kind of man he is”
Aurora held her gaze, unflinching. “I do. More than you think”
The maid shook her head quickly, wiping fresh tears with the back of her hand. “He will kill you. He kills people easily. Without regret. Without hesitation”
“I’m aware,” Aurora murmured, “But I’m not afraid”
The maid swallowed hard. “I just… I don’t want anyone else to suffer. I don’t want you to end up like the others”
    Aurora’s chest tightened. “I won’t”
The girl’s voice grew faint, barely more than a trembling breath. “My sister… she’s only sixteen”
Aurora closed her eyes briefly, steadying herself.
    Sixteen.
    A child.
    A life stolen.
She opened her eyes again, sharper and colder. “Tell me everything. Every detail. I need to know how deep he’s buried himself”
The maid nodded weakly. “He has connections everywhere. The Police, local council and even businessmen. They all owe him favors, money or protection” She lowered her gaze. “He hides everything underground. The cameras don’t record what goes on there. And only Antonio has the keys. He doesn’t trust anyone else”
    Aurora clenched her jaw.
    Of course he didn’t.
The maid looked at her with a trembling desperation. “Please… when you leave here, don’t come back. Just run. You’re lucky you woke up in a bedroom. Many girls don’t wake up at all”
Aurora exhaled slowly. “I’m not leaving without getting those girls out. And I’m not leaving without ensuring Antonio pays for this”
“You’re going to die if you stay, i know what I’m saying”
Aurora’s eyes hardened, dark and determined.
    “Not before he does”
The maid stared at her, stunned.
“I have to leave” Aurora said quietly.
The maid nodded, wiping her tears again. “Please… please be careful”
Aurora’s mind raced as she stepped back toward the door.
‘Once I get to my room, Matteo will know everything’
Her fingers lingered on the handle. A mental note to explain everything details to him.
    She pushed the door open.
    Nicholas was there.
Standing perfectly still, framed by the dim light of the hallway. His face unreadable, every expression masked in shadow.
The maid froze beside her, a sharp, stifled gasp escaping her lips.
No words, no movement. Just the tense silence, heavy and suffocating.
Aurora’s heart thudded in her chest as the door hung between them.
    OH GOD…

     NARRATOR POV

Aurora was seated in the lobby after getting her test done and waiting for the result when her cell phone rang.

📞”Hey Nina”. She said on the phone.

📞”How is going?”.Nina asked from the other end of the phone.

📞”I am waiting for the test result”.

      📞”Ok, don’t worry, it’s gonna be fine”.

📞”Yeah, I will see you later”. She hung up and sighed.

Elizabeth was walking along the hallway when suddenly she paused as she caught sight of Aurora seated in the lobby.

“What is she doing here? Is Alex with her too?”. She wonders and then she stops a nurse walking by. ” Excuse me”. She called and the nurse moved to her.”Sorry for calling you, but I just wanted to know what that lady is here for?”

👩⚕️”Oh, you mean her?”She asked and Elizabeth nodded.”She came here to run some tests, and one of the nurses attended to her, so she is waiting for the result “.

” Ok, I guess they are still in the laboratory?”.

        👩⚕️”Yes”.

“OK, thank you very much”. she said and the nurse walked away. ” Let it not be what I am thinking”. She rushed to the laboratory and saw the nurse working on the computer.”Hey”.

       👩⚕️”Hey”.

“Sorry to ask, are you the one assigned to work on Ms. Aurora’s test result?”.

👩⚕️” Yes, am working on it now, it will take some time”.

“Ok, do you know what could be wrong with her?”.

👩⚕️” Not sure, but my instincts are saying she might be pregnant”. She said and Elizabeth gasped.

        “Really?”.

👩⚕️” Not sure, but, let’s just hope is true”.

“Ok”. She moves around and fetches water from the dispenser and moves to her, she pretends to watch what she is doing and pours the water on the keyboard and the computer goes blank” Oh, my am sorry, my hand slipped “. She said helping the nurse to clean up.

👩⚕️” What have you done, I didn’t even save my work”.

“Am so sorry, it was an accident”.

👩⚕️” What do you want me to do now, what do I tell the doctor and the lady”.

“Am so sorry”. She apologized and the nurse sighed tiredly and she left to inform the doctor what happened. Elizabeth smirks as she stares after her and then walks away.

Aurora came out of the building after the doctor informed them of the mistake that happened and that she should come back for another test tomorrow. She was waiting when a cab drove towards her and stopped, she entered and it drove off.

Some hours later, Nina was already dressed up for dinner, and when she heard a car horn and she knew it was Richard. She came out looking gorgeous in her wear and Richard was amazed.

” Wow! You look breathtaking”. he compliments her and moves to her, he takes her hand and places a kiss on it.”Shall we?”.

“Sure”. They entered the car and drove off

Mrs Stella had already prepared different meals and was waiting for the guest’s arrival. Not too long after, Alex drove into the compound, he got a test from Aurora telling him to go and that he would meet him there, Alex was a little odd by the message, but he just had to yield to it.

“You are here”. Mrs.Stella said as she rushed to hug him, after a while, they pulled away from each other.” You look so handsome”.

“Thank you, Mom”. They smile at each other.” Where is grandfather?”.

“Am here”. he said as he climbed down the staircase and hugged Alex.” Is so good to see you again son”.

“Thank you, grandfather, how have you been?”. he asked as they pulled away from each other.

” Never been better”. They chuckle.

“Where are your guests? Aren’t they coming?”. Mrs. Stella asked.

” Richard and his fiancee are on their way”.

“OK, what about your special guests we are meeting today?”.He asked and Alex blushed.

” She will be joining us soon, grandfather”.

“Why didn’t you come with her?”. Mrs. Stella asked.

” She is caught up with something, not to worry, she will be joining us soon”. He said and they left to the dining table.

Some minutes later, Richard and Nina arrived and they were welcomed in warmly by Mrs. Stella. Richard introduced Nina to them as his fiancee and they complimented her. Alex became worried as he wondered why Aurora was not here yet, he tried her number, but it wasn’t connecting.

“Son, your guest is not coming anymore”. She asked.

“Am wondering why she is not here yet”. He said.

” Try calling her”. Richard said.

        “Is not connecting”.

” Maybe she is on her way, you should know how traffic behaves”.Nina said.

“Yes, let’s wait for a while”. his grandfather said.

Meanwhile, in a deep bush, Aurora was unconscious in the cab she entered at the hospital. She started to regain herself as the side of her head was bleeding.

” Ah!”.She groans in pain and then realizes what happened earlier, the cab man lost control of his break and ran into the bush. “Oh no”. She looked around the car and noticed the driver was not in the driver’s seat, she tried to open the door but it was locked.” Help! Someone help! Am stuck!”. She screamed hitting the door and struggling to go out. “Oh no, how do I get out of here”. She searched for her bag and couldn’t find it. ” Where is my bag?”. She wondered and continued knocking on the door and screaming for help.

Suddenly, the car started moving on its own heading deep into the bush, Aurora kept screaming for help.

“So long Aurora, you are going to be missed”. Elizabeth said staring at her from afar with Spike.

It was their plan, Spike was the cab man driving the cab, he intentionally lost control of the car and it crashed into the bush for Aurora to get hurt. After that, they lock all the doors of the car and turn on the car engine automatically to drive on its own and crash into pieces. Aurora was still screaming for help and struggling to come out. On the peak of the car crashing into a mighty tree, the door forcefully opened and she jumped out and the car crashed and exploded. Elizabeth and Spike were surprised at how she managed to escape.

” Find her”. She instructed and Spike walked away.

Everyone became worried about why Aurora was taking too long.

“Am going to her place to see if she is there, am not feeling good about this “. Alex said.

” Yes, son, you should go”. His grandfather said.

“Am coming with you”. Richard said.

” No, Richard, you stay behind”.

        “Are you sure?”.

” Yes, I will be back”. He said and walked away and they sighed.

“I have never seen him this panicked before”. Mrs. Stella said. ” I hope she is safe”.

           “I hope so too”.

Aurora became weak after getting blasted by the explosion of the car, she crawled away to a place where she could be seen. Just then spike stood at her front.

” Going somewhere?”. He smirks and Aurora raises her face at him.

“Who are you? Please help me”. She said weakly.

” Am sorry I am not here to help you but to end your life”.

        “What? How do you mean?”.

” You will know soon”. He drags her up and Aurora struggles with him.

“Let me go”. she said as he continued to drag her along, then she bit his hand. Spike let go of her hand quickly groaning in pain and she ran off while he chased after her.

” You are dead meat!”. he said angrily and continue to chased after her and he finally caught her because she was looking weak. “You moron!”. He hit her hard in the face and she fell unconscious. ” This is your end”. He lifts her on his shoulder and walks away.

Alex arrived at Aurora’s house, he knocked on the door and her grandmother came out.

“Good day ma “. He greeted politely.

” Good day to you too, what brought you here?”.

“Um, Is Aurora in, am here to pick her up”.

” No, she hasn’t returned from work, I thought maybe she was working late as usual”. She said and Alex was confused.

        “Are you sure?”.

” Yes, is everything ok? Is my granddaughter in trouble?”.She panicked.

“No granny she is not, we were supposed to go on a dinner date today and she told me not to come pick her up, so, I was worried she might still be home that’s why is taking so long”.

” I haven’t seen her since she left for work this morning”.

“OK granny, you don’t have to worry, am guessing she is on her way to the place,”.he said.

        “OK, if you say so”.

” I will be on my way now”. he left for his car and she went inside. Alex phoned Richard. 📞”Is Aurora there yet?”.

📞”No man, isn’t she at home?”. Richard asked from the other end of the phone.

📞”No, I am getting worried, what if something has happened to her?”.

📞”Don’t think like that, am sure she will be fine, just come over”.

📞”Sure”. He hung up and drove away.

Ivanna’s five fingers painted themselves on that cheek. Red as hell, but she didn’t care.

The tears finally fell from her eyes, rolling down her cheeks fast.

Bobby nearly tore himself from Renata’s side to come attack her, but Renata pulled him back.

    “No!”

“She just slapped him! No one has ever done that except dad, and that’s because Leo allowed him. This isn’t right!” Bobby spat.

    “Still…No.” Renata insisted.

Bobby bit the wall of his mouth, forcing himself to look away.

Robert and Ginny looks like the most shocked. Their eyes hasn’t stopped widening.

    Their parents aren’t with Leonardo?

    Then…with who?

The tear line crawled down Ivanna’s second eye too, and Leonardo clenched his jaws, the prints of her fingers are already clearing off.

He tried getting close, but she pushed him roughly.

“Don’t touch me!! I kept asking, kept begging like a fool! I even still asked this morning, but all you said was to trust you! How could I trust you when you lied to me whereas my parents are in the hands of a evil girl like Lissa! If they’re with Lissa, they’re practically with the Armando family, the same family who threw us in this problem in the first place! I saw the sent video and my parents looked wretched! My fine mum and lively dad are now close to leprosy!! How could you!!” She cried.

Again, Leonardo wanted to grab her hands, but she pushed him for the second time, and he instantly yanked her up, carrying her up his shoulder.

He made sure his arm stayed wrapped on her thigh at the back to cover them as he took her away.

She was beating his back, punching and biting, but he didn’t care, and he didn’t allow her to throw her legs cos his second hand held them down by the ankles.

“I hate you!!! M+therf+ker! I hate you very much it’s unquantifiable!!! I hate, hate you!!!!”

Her screams tore through the air as she got carried away.

The rest are still there, and Ginny is already crying.

“It can’t be. You mean our parents have been in Lissa’s possession all these while, and I’ve been here, living freely like I have no problem?”

“They’ll be fine, maybe Ghost will find them.” Tierney said, a obvious attempt at consoling her.

“No. He’s not in control anymore. You don’t get it, the Padrino is probably involved and…what if they kill our parents?” Ginny hiccupped.

“Gee,” Nino placed an hand on Robert’s shoulder.

“I heard wrong, right?” Robert faced him. Tears are in his eyes too.

“I was living fine, adapting fine, thinking my parents were somewhere living fine under Ghost’s protection, but whole time they’ve actually been with the Armandos? I feel sold.” Robert replied slowly.

Ginny rushed over to Hilda, and Hilda looks like she doesn’t even know what to say.

“Will my parents be fine?” She asked desperately.

Hilda only looked on. No words.

“They won’t ever be released if Leo refuses to bend. It’s different this time, Leo is cornered, and it won’t be easy.” Renata said.

“Marko Esposito, now I understand when you said he was the one who ruined mum too. If mum had a different father, maybe she’d have been a normal woman.” Bobby muttered beside her.

“Yeah, dad ruined her, but Vera had so many chances to run away from dad and start life afresh, but she never took those chances. Apart from father’s sick legacy, she had wickedness in her too.” Renata said.

“You said she once fell in love with a man, how was she in love if she was born wicked?” Bobby asked.

“There’s a thick line between love and obsession, Bobby. Vera was obsessed with Santos, not love.” Renata stated.

“His name was Santos?” Bobby looked ahead with a sigh.

“Yeah, Santos.” Renata replied, patting his shoulder.

    “How’re you feeling, about Wendy?”

“I remember her body was returned to the orphanage, I’ll just go there and pay my last respects.” He replied, and Renata nodded.

Then… Bacardi and Bobby and Don Anthony appeared.

“Fûck, you’re here!” Bacardi gave Bobby a tight hug.

“Thought I’ve been cut into skewers by our granddad?” Bobby replied, hugging her back slowly.

“I didn’t think less,” Bacardi replied.

Sandra hugged him too, and he hugged them back with an arm each.

While he’s doing that, he’s smiling at Don Anthony who returned it.

“Is Felicia still locked up?” Renata asked him.

    Anthony nodded.

“I promised to help, but now that it has gotten to this stage, I don’t even know what to propose anymore. Can’t even feel my head.” Bobby said.

“Leo promised to help, too.” Anthony said slowly.

    “He did?” They all chorused.

Anthony nodded. “The night he invited me to dinner at his Citadel”

            <Flashback To That Night>

Leonardo made a call to the estate kitchen before he arrived with Anthony, and when they got to the elevator, the staffs were already waiting in front of it with the nourishing food trays.

They’re two, so father and son took them one by each.

Leonardo opened the elevator, and Anthony entered with him. The ride to the top floor was silent, and Anthony almost lost his way as he looked around. It’s his first time inside this place.

Leonardo gave him a glare which made him comport himself as they set the food trays on the table.

They settled down to eat afterwards, but Anthony wasn’t comfortable with the silence at all.

“I never knew the interior looked as majestic as this. You’ve always loved majestic though, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.” He said.

“What do you like about Felicia?” Leonardo asked the question he wasn’t expecting, and Anthony paused, dropping his cutlery.

“She might be a bad person at some point, but she’s not a bad person generally, and trust me, I can vouch for her that her love for you and your siblings is genuine. I married her one month after Vera’s death not because I’ve been seeing her before Vera’s death, but because i wanted to piss Vera’s spirit up.”

“After Vera’s death, I visited Felicia’s bar. That night, a customer was harassing Island, and Felicia was fighting the customer, throwing him hits cos he harassed her daughter. It was chaotic, but then I found out the girl she was fighting for wasn’t even her biological daughter, it was a child she picked up and adopted as her own… I was impressed, so I picked her for my purpose.”

“I mean…Vera was an abusive mother who’d even hurt her son for trainings or lock him up in a starvation prison to lose weight, but Felicia was fighting for her adopted daughter like that? What length would she go for her biological child? The contrasting qualities made me decide right there to breed her, so I married her.”

“And you fell in love with her along the way even after you found out she was suffering from barrenness?” Leonardo asked.

He has dropped his fork by now, focusing on Anthony.

“She’s not completely barren. She once got pregnant for me, remember? But she had a sudden miscarriage and almost fell to death if not for Island who caught her. And yes…I love her, and I won’t defend her bad side, but I’d also not cover her good side.” Anthony replied.

Leonardo took a cup of water and drank a little.

“I believe she really got her fingers cut to get the ointment for Island, and I believe Lissa and Penny are lying because—”

“I know they’re lying, and I know Felicia got her fingers cut cos of Island.” Leonardo cut him off.

    “You do?” Anthony gasped.

“That night when she left the estate, I sent my guards after her cos she looked suspicious, and the guards reported she went to the underworld hub with Penny.” Leonardo said.

“I knew it!” Anthony banged the table. “Can you say that to your granddad? Felicia is gonna get out.”

“You think?” Leonardo rolled eyes. “I hate Felicia, so me testifying for her alibi will make it look like I want to frame Penny and Lissa. Granddad already sees the Armando family as his partners, so it’s a dead end.”

    “Then?” Anthony’s arms dropped.

“I’ll go on my Britain journey and return before I can help you with getting her out. You can then go back to your healthy diet and stop looking like a starved duck.” Leonardo replied, and Anthony smiled.

“As if you’re better than me. You barely touched that food, you’re still allergic to eating more than ten or twelve forkfuls.” He said.

Leonardo didn’t say anything anymore, he just stood and began walking into his bedroom.

Anthony turned around on his chair, watching him leave.

He smiled again, wishing Vera didn’t mess with his son’s head.

Leonardo would have been the sweetest man ever.

                    <Present Time>

“Now that things became like this, I don’t think helping Felicia out is on his bingo card anymore. I mean… Ivanna’s parents are hooked and he’s hooked himself.” Bobby said.

“Ivanna’s parents?” Bacardi faced him quickly.

“Oh you haven’t heard the latest? The Cooper couple are with Lissa, and Lissa is now working with Marko, so she probably transferred them to the valley already, and you know anything that gets trapped in that valley will never come out unless Marko wants it to come out.” Bobby explained.

“What!” Bacardi gasped, turning around to where Robert is standing with Nino.

She rushed over, and Nino left them.

“Hey…don’t cry.” Bacardi wiped the tears on his face.

“I was thinking my parents were fine with Ghost, and that’s why I said I was capable of facing your grandpa if he ever tried to come for me, but now I don’t know what to think… My parents don’t deserve pains anymore.” Robert sniffled.

“It’ll be settled sooner than you expect, I promise.” Bacardi held his face dearly.

“How? Your granddad is a psycho! I thought I’ve seen it all with Ghost, but your granddad is a greater one and I can’t…” He sniffled again.

“Rob! When you cry, I get prickles on my skin, so stop.” She wiped his tears again, and he nodded.

    “I’ve heard you,”

    [Cooper Siblings Apartment]

“She wants you to get married to her within 24hrs and go to Paris on her honeymoon. If that’s what’s gonna bring forth my parents, then do it! I just want my parents back!” Ivanna said impatiently.

Leonardo has forced a shirt and short skirt into her body now, but she still looks crazy with the tangled hair.

They’re both standing in the middle of her bedroom.

“I don’t want you making any move. They said 24hrs and I can’t risk you making any move within 24hrs and get my parents killed! Your granddad is a ticking time bomb like you, but you can’t handle that man! Better give him what he wants and get my parents back!” She sniffles.

“A wedding with Lissa? Stupid Honeymoon in Paris? A fuckin heir of this empire in her womb? Last night, you were saying my cvck is yours, and now?” Leonardo glared.

“No don’t do that! Don’t compare my parents with your manhood, Leo! When you arrived, you heard Bob was in danger at the valley, and you went straight for him cos he’s family! These people are my parents! They raised me so I could find my real parents one day!” She shouted, clutching her necklace pendant.

“I need my parents back, Leo. I want my parents back!”

Then… Leonardo turned around and left the room.

    “Leo!” She went after him.

    “Leo!”

He went for the door, flung it open and waltzed out of the apartment.

Ivanna did a squat behind the door after it closed, wiping the tears that are already pouring again.

    [Estate Park]

When Leonardo arrived, Renata and his siblings are still there, and when he entered his car in fury without talking to anyone of them, Renata quickly stayed in front of the car, stopping him before he could drive.

“You can’t act rash, Leo! You can’t play your smartness cards with granddad now that the parents are in HIS valley! You can’t! You know he can kill the parents and nothing is gonna happen!” She shouted.

“Leo! Leo, calm your nerves!” Bacardi added loudly.

“I’m sure he has them locked in his dungeon, and inside that dungeon second cell, there’d be a guard stationed there to monitor them. If you make a rash move of threatening him or getting mad, he only has to order the guard by sending a signal, and the guard is gonna just shoot them dead!” Renata continued.

Leonardo’s hands are still on the wheel.

“Listen, only his thumbprint can open the dungeon door, and initially, his closest guard has his plastic thumb with him, but now that it has been burned, you can’t open the dungeon without Marko’s direct thumbprint. I know you’re thinking of killing him, but that’d be impossible too cos the thumbprint censor counts his heartbeats too… you know the kind of lock I’m talking about, so he has to be alive, healthy, breathing and functioning well before the door opens!” Renata shouted again.

Leonardo still didn’t let go of the wheel.

    “Leo… please.” Bacardi begged.

“So now y’all are saying he should… marry Lissa? Make Lissa birth the heir of this empire?” Bobby said.

Sandra and Anthony were quiet, and Leonardo finally rolled the weel, bypassing Renata and speeding out of the estate.

    [Phoenix Valley]

Lissa has joined her parents here now. Immediately Ivanna read the message an hour ago, she drove down here to stay, and now they’re all waiting for the next chapter.

Leonardo will either come here to make a smart move that’d get Ivanna’s parents killed, or he’d come to submit himself.

It’s either one of the two, but Lissa is betting on the first one cos Leonardo doesn’t follow emotions like her …

    He follows tactics and instincts.

They didn’t wait long. Three more minutes, Leonardo’s car screeched into the valley park, and Lissa spranged up when he entered.

Thaddeus and Padrino Marko are sitting in the same couch—a double couch, and Penny is sitting on the next couch to them.

Emma and Island are both behind Lissa, on their feet.

Leonardo entered like a king coming to save his entrapped captives, but the two men weren’t freaked, cos the closer he came, the less intimidating his walk became.

He came to a stop not far from Lissa, and Lissa held her breaths.

His eyes fell on the two men who’re still sitting, and Penny.

“I have an additional condition.” He spoke up finally, his voice filling the room up than the people.

“And what could that be?” Marko replied sharply.

“Let Felicia go, too.” Leonardo said.

“Suddenly grew an affection bone for your father’s wife?” Marko smirked, but Leonardo remained blank.

Marko looked at Thaddeus, and Thaddeus just smiled innocently.

Then…Marko picked up his phone and made a call to Thaddeus, telling him to go free his wife.

When he dropped the phone, he faced Leonardo.

“The moment you get married to Lissa tomorrow, Ivanna’s parents will be released too, but they’ll only be released to go home. They’ll be on house arrest and will be watched 24/7 with shackles to their ankles. Then, when you return from the honeymoon phase with your child in Lissa’s belly, they’ll be released completely.” Marko explained.

Leonardo’s jaws went gritted, again. The flashbacks of last night on the yacht intruded his head. The moans, bites, tongues, the laughter, freeness.

    The recklessness.

And at the same time, Ivanna’s tears and the lies he has been telling her about the parents gave him whiplashes too.

    He clenched his jaws tighter…

    “Deal.”

Lissa smiled brightly, facing her maids behind her.

They returned her happy smile, then she faced her mother, and her father.

Their smiles are too wide, taking over their faces.

“To conquer!” Thaddeus raised one of the glasses on the table.

    Marko remained seated, smiling.

Penny raised her glass, then Lissa.

    “To conquer!”

[House Of Esposito, Next Morning~ Dungeon]

Anthony felt like he sold his son’s freedom for his wife’s release, and that’s why even though he received the order to release Felicia since last night, he couldn’t bring himself to.

But this morning, Marko made it compulsory for him to bring Felicia along to the wedding, so he had to come get her.

    Yeah. The wedding.

The announcement has been rang around the estate since yesterday. Leonardo Esposito and Lissa Armando are getting married in a loveless way. Only for the purpose of breeding—giving a heir to The Outfit.

Anthony inserted the cell key into the hole, and Felicia spranged up from where she sat on the ground.

    “I’m…out?” She hesitated.

“Leo bought your freedom, you should thank him when you get the chance,” Anthony replied.

“What! Wh..why? Why would Leo —”

“There’s no time to talk yet, Felly. You have to go clean up and prepare for the wedding.” Anthony said.

“Wedding?” Felicia received the second shock, but it didn’t settle deep before she followed Anthony out of the dungeon, and when they stepped out and she felt the outside air again, she had no time to appreciate it.

Cos she’s busy looking around. Everyone of the mobsters are dressed in red tuxes, or red dresses.

Red is the signature colour for the wedding.

She was too tied to speak, and she took a detour to her roses sanctuary. It has been destroyed completely.

No single rose or flower was spared. Marko ordered the destruction.

With a tight chest, she returned to the penthouse with Anthony to dress up.

The Citadel door opened at 8am, and Leonardo came out, dressed in his red suit. Bobby is behind him, wearing a red suit too but in a lighter shade. He was mandated to be Leonardo’s best man!

There’s no noticable change in Leonardo’s body.

His facial patches are still intact, the body plasters are there too. He didn’t touch up the hair.

He gave the Cooper siblings apartment a glance, and Bobby waited till he had his fill of the glance before he entered the car with his brother. They sat at the backseat.

The driver drove the car in the front, out of the estate.

As they’re driving away, Sandra and Bacardi are coming out of their respective Planet and Condo in their red dresses too.

They got in one car, driving off to the wedding.

Then…from the Cooper siblings apartment, Ivanna and her siblings came out, wearing red too.

Ivanna tied her hair up, a long ponytail, and her face is flat, pale. Her dress isn’t a noticable style, it’s just there to represent red.

Ginny glued herself beside her, and Tierney glued himself beside Robert who looks nervous.

Hilda and Nino are at the back.

They were packed in their cars—three per car, and they drove off too.

Thirty minutes later, Felicia and Anthony emerged from the penthouse.

They got in a car, hurriedly, and they were driven away.

It’s a procedural, official wedding, so it’s happening at the valley hall, right inside Padrino’s home.

    [Crimson Cave, Monika’s Hall]

Monika’s laughter echoed though the hall, so loud and mocking and something out of the ordinary.

Like she’s laughing from the pit of her stomach, so it’s cracking, and her mouth is wide open.

“Aren’t The Outfit peeps so entertaining? I mean…”

She laughed again, placing an hand on the table in front of her.

“The hell? A wedding out of the blues? This is why I have to meet this Marko soon, he’s insane.”

“Someone can actually force Leonardo Esposito to do something? No, Marko deserves a trophy.”

She laughed for the third time, checking the report in front of her.

Leonardo agreed to the wedding only because of Ivanna’s parents.

“Seriously?” Monika looked up. “Don’t tell me the loveless Leo is actually in love with who?? Ivanna?”

She stood, coming out of her space. She climbed down her stairwell, her gown dragging the ground.

“I’ve only just added spice and still thinking I’d add more spice to our clashes, but this had to happen. I guess the heavens are on my side too, they have no reason to not be on my damn side.” She sighed, bringing out her locket to open.

She smiled as she stared at the man.

“Santos, you should watch from your grave, things are about to heat up.”

    [Phoenix Valley, Dragon Hall]

Just as the ballroom is dedicated to ceremonies in the clan estate, this Dragon Hall is dedicated to ceremonies in this valley.

    Dedicated to the wedding.

Only distinguished members of the clan attended, including the brigadiers, so there are just twenty-five people in the hall, all wearing red. That colour seemed to paint the hall completely.

Renata was mandated to stay beside Marko as a mother figure, and she looks planted as she stayed, holding the mother’s speech card.

Everyone is standing right now, and their eyes are on the front as Lissa and Leonardo made their entrance.

Emma is behind Lissa, sprinkling black flowers to the air and blessing the wedding with obsessive, deep grip of darkness.

Bobby is behind Leonardo, and he looks like he’s dead. He’s barely functioning.

Everyone followed protocol, all eyes are in the front, but Ivanna looked back just once, and that once, her eyes met with Leonardo’s.

She got flashbacks immediately. Flashbacks of the yacht. The groans, laughter, food. The orgasms.

She didn’t look at him for a second before quickly looking away.

Leonardo’s eyes met his father’s next, and Anthony looks too guilty to even look at him, so he looked away.

Leonardo focused back on the front. His hand that’s holding Lissa’s hand is barely holding on. Lissa is the one grabbing his hand very tight.

The silence proceeded till they got to the front where Renata and Marko are. Anthony was summoned to the front too, so he joined.

Thaddeus and Penny are the happiest here. Their smiles lighted up this hall, overtaking the gloominess from everyone else.

Marko handed the father’s card to Anthony, and he’s the first to open it, reading after clearing his throat…

“From The Outfit, To The Outfit. Sin over purity. Darkness over transparency. Legacy over life. I, the Don, Anthony Esposito, signs the undertaking, which expects The Outfit heir from Lissa Armando and Leonardo Esposito, ten months from now. In blood.”

After those words, he pricked his thumb with a needle and signed with his blood.

Then… Renata said the words too, acting as Vera. She signed in blood.

Thaddeus and Penny did the same, and Marko crowned it with his own undertaking. He thumbed too.

Lissa and Leonardo’s papers were drawn next.

    Leonardo went first…

“From the empire, to the empire. Sin over purity. Darkness over transparency. Legacy over life. I, the Three In One, Leonardo Esposito, signs the undertaking, which expects The Outfit heir from Lissa Armando and me, ten months from now. In blood.”

    He thumbed too.

Lissa was the last to thumb with her blood, and her smile was fresh as she placed her blood over his one.

Her br£asts popped in front of her cos her black wedding dress is V in the front, so all of her b00bs are almost out. She wore no bra, at all. Even under her dress, no panty.

She’s naked except for that dress.

When she raised her thumb from the document, she smiled again, having a quick flashback.

    <Many Months Ago, Armando Mansion>

    It’s a snowy morning—mid-january.

Lissa had slept late the night before.

She slept around 4am, and she woke up late too at 11am.

Her phone is in her hands when she rose from the bed. She even clutched it in her sleep, and when she sat up, it was the first thing she saw.

With a smile on her face, she adjusted the sleeve of her nightie and clicked on a number in her contacts.

The line is saved as ‘Mine’

She dialled, three times, but he’s not picking, so she frowned, lowering the phone from her ear.

    “Is he still asleep?”

She clicked on text and began writing…

Lissa: Stanley, are you there? Don’t tell me you’re still…

That was all she could write before Penny entered her room.

“You should learn to knock!” Lissa groaned crankily.

“Don’t act like you’re hiding something in here. You obviously didn’t hear what’s going on in the clan estate. I guess you slept late again, only gawd knows who you’ve been chatting these days.” Penny replied, getting a headgear from Lissa’s closet.

    She started rushing out.

“What’s going on?” Lissa came down from the bed.

“You really dunno? Leo’s most trusted guard tried to kill him this morning around 5am, and he was caught, interrogated in the Sinners Assembly, but he refused to talk, so Leo angrily ordered your father to burn him to ashes on the water bridge.” Penny replied hastily and rushed out.

Lissa stood there even after the door closed, reprocessing what she just heard very well.

    Leo’s most trusted…guard?

    Stanley?

    “Stan..ley?”

    “Stanley!!” She shouted.

“Stanley!!!!!!!” She screamed madly, running out of her room and rushing down the staircase.

She fell and rolled to the base, but she stood and pushed the concerned maids out of her way.

She ran out barefoot, jumping in the first car she opened in the park. She drove roughly out of the mansion, her legs shaking on the gas and her hands trembling on the wheel.

    But she was already late.

When she got to the bridge, a large crowd of citizens has converged there, watching the show.

Stanley is already on fire—not a fresh fire. Seems it has been burning for over an hour cos he’s already on the ground, black and unrecognizable.

Lissa’s hand clutched her mouth, and hot tears rushed out of her eyes, entering her mouth.

She tasted salt, tasted bitterness, tasted anguish. All in one.

“Stanley adored you, Leo. Stanley adored you. He wouldn’t have tried to kill you just like that. He had no motivation! He had none!!!”

She was slamming herself on the car seat as she screamed the words.

“I shared him with you, Leo. You always had an errand or two to send him, and he left me halfway through s+x a lotta times just to go answer to you! He left me on edge so many times for you and always spoke highly of you! You could have spared him! You could have spared my Stanley!!!” She wailed, slamming her own head on the wheel.

She bled from her forehead, and as fire burned Stanley on the bridge, fire burned in her eyes too.

She couldn’t bare to watch further, so she drove back home, still full of shock, full of disbelief.

As she came out of the car and walked back into her room, she looked lifeless.

She picked up her phone from the bed and sat at the foot of her bed, scrolling through her gallery.

There are only pictures of the two of them there. Stanley’s gentle smile, his calm face, the handsomeness.

She bursted into bitter tears again.

They’ve kept their relationship a secret from everyone including Leonardo, including her parents.

They kept the secret from the mob entirely, so now that he’s gone, she can only cry secretly, wail in closed spaces like this.

She didn’t come out of that room for three whole days no matter the begging and shouting from her mother and father.

    She cried, starved, grieved… alone.

    But she has a resolution.

Stanley can’t just die in vain.

The one who killed him will have to take his place and continue from where Stanley stopped.

Leonardo. Leonardo is hers from now on. Nothing can take him.

                      <Present Time>

Lissa’s eyes met with Leonardo’s empty ones on that alter as he inserted the ring into her finger, and she kept her smile sweet and big as she picked the second ring and inserted it into her finger too.

‘Stanley, I finally got him. I got him.’ she thought, chuckling.

The moment Leonardo took his hand from her, she raised her arms to his shoulders, and she went in for a kiss.

Leonardo stayed rooted, till her lips met his own.

In the middle of the guests, Ivanna’s face went down, and her hands grabbed her dress on a knot.

She held it tight, trembling, not daring to look up at all.

Hilda took her hand, holding it tight like a mother who cares

Ivanna looked at her, and Hilda smiled warmly.

“Don’t watch, lest it hurts too much.” She muttered.

Ivanna kept her eyes on the woman’s, and Leonardo returned Lissa to her feet after one second of the kiss.

The kiss is the last part of the conjugation, so Marko

ushered the couple out of the hall…

    To the airfield.

Yeah…the valley is unimaginably extensive, so there’s an illegal airstrip at the back property like a private cargo landing ground.

There, sat a single bombardier jet.

As they’re walking to the jet, Erica and Leroy Cooper were ushered out of the dungeon by the guards.

    “Mum!” Ginny saw them first.

    “Dad!” Robert joined.

“Mum! Dad!” Ivanna emotionally rasped, running towards the two with her siblings.

The two look too bad. Their condition isn’t pleasant at all.

They even smell of cow dung and filth. They reek.

Ivanna and her siblings didn’t mind.

Erica fell in her arms, and Leroy fell in Robert’s arms.

“Why did they do them like this?” Ginny cried loudly.

Tierney, Hilda and Nino are with them, but the rest are at the field.

Lissa and Leonardo are on board already, and in no time, the jet hit the runway, taking off shortly.

As the jet rose slightly above them, Lissa threw her shoes out of the window, and the heels landed on Ivanna’s head before the jet disappeared into the higher clouds.

    Off to Paris.

    TBC.

               ✮{…DIFFERENT SITUATION…}✮
Enzo’s voice came closer, soothing yet impossibly near. “Relax, Aurora. It’s alright. Just breathe…”
Panic surged through her chest, but her body refused to respond. She could only watch, helpless, as he leaned in, pressing his lips to the sensitive skin of her neck. The heat of his mouth sent a shiver racing down her spine, and a flash of panic and confusion consumed her.
Then he began undressing her… his hands moving with a possessive slowness that made her heart hammer against her ribs.
He pulled the sleek silver gown from her shoulders, the fabric whispering as it slid down her paralyzed arms and pooled at her waist, leaving her bra and her extreme vulnerability exposed to his gaze. She was utterly helpless and unable to pull the gown back up.
His eyes, usually filled with that familiar warm amusement, were now dark with a chilling devotion. He ran the back of his hand slowly down the curve of her jaw, moving a loose strand of hair from her face.
“Aurora, you can’t tell me you don’t know about my likeness for you” he murmured, his breath warm against her ear.
“I have for a very long time, since the first time I saw you. I hated the day you told me you had a crush on Matteo. I hated it”
His fingers tightened slightly on her arm. “I hate the fact that you’re even married to him! You’re mine, Feather”
    He leaned closer.
“My love for you increased the day you came crying in the underground gym because your father compared you to Valentina and called you weak and useless”
That word ‘weak’ snapped something in Aurora’s mind, pulling her back to that day.
    FLASHBACK*
The rough, cold stones of the underground gym felt impossibly far away. Thirteen-year-old Aurora stumbled in, the remnants of her father’s cruel words echoing in the silence.
He had just finished comparing her to her older sister, Valentina, calling Aurora “weak” and “useless” a fragile thing not fit for the Bellanti name.
She sank on the worn leather bench, burying her face in her hands, the sobs escaping her small body in shuddering waves.
Enzo, then fourteen and already her personal driver, was silently practicing blade forms in the corner. He stopped instantly when he heard her cry. He’d been working for the family since he was just a boy, but he had never seen the Boss’s daughter cry like this.
He cautiously approached her, his own movements quiet.
“Hey, Rory,” he whispered, his voice uncharacteristically soft. He gently touched her shoulder. “What did they say?”
Aurora lifted her tear-streaked face. “He said I’m weak. That I’m not strong like Valentina. I’ll never be useful”
Enzo looked at her, his dark eyes filling with a fierce protectiveness that transcended his servant status.
He knelt down to meet her gaze. “You’re not weak, Rory,” he said, taking a small, almost weightless feather that had dropped from a training dummy’s stuffing and placing it in her hand. “You’re just not hard yet”
He curled her small fingers around the feather. “Do you know what a feather is? It’s light. It bends. But it can float above everything, and it can move faster than anyone expects. You’re my little feather”
“And I promise you this, Feather, I will teach you every single thing I know. I will make you so sharp, so fast, that your father will never, ever be able to call you weak again”
From that day forward, when she was thirteen and they began their secret training, he called her Feather.
    END OF FLASHBACK*
The memory shattered like glass, pulling Aurora violently back to the present.
The metallic scent of blood seemed to fill the air, though none had been shed, only the bloody scent of betrayal.
Enzo was no longer the boy who had promised to protect her from weakness. He was the one inflicting it.
He smiled down at her, the triumphant smile of a victor claiming his prize.
“See, Feather? I never forgot that promise. And now… I can finally keep you safe. Safe with me” Enzo finished.
Aurora remained locked in her paralyzed prison, her eyes the only part of her that still obeyed burned with a silent, ferocious hatred. The man before her was not the Enzo she knew.
The realization was a fresh, sharp stab of agony.
Enzo stood, his expression satisfied. He pulled a heavy silk sash from the bedside table and began to bind her wrists to the back of the chair.
“Don’t worry,” he murmured, adjusting the knot. “The drug will wear off in a few hours. You’ll be comfortable, and we’ll have a long, long time to talk”
He paused, glancing at his watch. “But first, I need to make sure Matteo gets the message”
He picked up her clutch from the floor, pulled out her phone, and held it up to her face. With chilling calmness, he positioned the camera to read her immobilized features. The screen flashed green, granting him access. He had her phone.
Moving quickly, he opened the messaging app and drafted a brief text to Matteo.
*Don’t bother finding me. I just want to be alone.
He pressed send, waited half a second for the confirmation, and then, before Aurora could even register the full weight of the deception, he powered the phone off.
    Enzo pocketed the useless device.
“There,” he said, smiling down at her. “That should buy us a few hours before the monster realizes his little wife didn’t actually run away”
He then turned back to Aurora, his eyes roaming over her exposed shoulders and the fabric of her bra. His smile grew cold and predatory. He knelt, his fingers reaching for the clasp.
“Now, where were we, Feather?” he whispered.
Just as his fingertips brushed the fabric strap—
    KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
The sudden, loud rap on the heavy wooden door startled him.
Enzo froze, his eyes snapping to the door.
“Merda!” He cursed softly, a low Italian epithet. He’d forgotten that he ordered a late snack and a bottle of high-end scotch right before Aurora arrived.
He glanced at Aurora, who was still tied and exposed. Quick decision-making kicked in. He couldn’t risk the room service attendant seeing her in that state.
“Stay put” he commanded, though the order was laughably redundant.
He grabbed the heavy duvet from the bed, tossing it over Aurora with a speed that belied his earlier slow movements, completely covering her and the chair.
He then smoothed his shirt, checked the door’s peephole, and unlocked the deadbolt.
Enzo opened the door just wide enough to block the attendant’s view of the room. A uniformed man stood there, holding a silver tray covered by a pristine cloth.
“Room service for 807, sir. Your late-night delivery”
“Perfect timing” Enzo said, forcing a casual tone. He quickly took the tray, handing over a generous tip without making eye contact.
    “Enjoy your evening, sir”
“I plan to” Enzo replied, a dark smirk playing on his lips as the door was locked and bolted once more.
He leaned against the heavy wood for a moment, listening until the attendant’s footsteps faded. He had barely wasted thirty seconds, but the momentum of his violation had been broken.
Enzo walked back to the center of the room, pulling the duvet off Aurora. Her eyes, still filled with rage, met his.
“Just a minor delay, Feather,” he said, picking up the scotch from the tray. He poured a drink, his hand steady. “Now, where were we?”
He raised the glass to her, his smile chillingly triumphant.
The ringtone shattered the charged silence. Enzo’s brows knit in irritation as he fished his phone from his pocket.
    “Yes?” he muttered, answering.
A clipped voice spoke on the other end. “Sir, your express delivery from yesterday has just arrived. You requested to receive it personally at the lobby”
Enzo exhaled sharply, jaw clenching. “Now? It couldn’t wait five minutes?”
“I’m afraid it’s perishable content, sir. The courier insists”
He ended the call with a terse curse under his breath. For a long moment, he stood still, his knuckles whitening around the glass of scotch. Then he turned back to Aurora.
Her eyes followed him, silent and burning fury.
“Will be right back, Feather,” he said at last, forcing a calmness he didn’t feel. “Seems the universe enjoys interrupting me tonight”
He set the glass down on the bedside table and walked to her, crouching so his eyes were level with hers. His hand hovered near her cheek but didn’t touch. Instead, he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
“I’ll be right back” he murmured.
“Don’t go anywhere, you can’t anyway”
He rose, straightened his jacket, and headed for the door. With one last glance at her bound form, he locked it from the outside.
The echo of his footsteps faded down the hall, leaving Aurora in suffocating silence.
Down in the lavish, marble-floored lobby of Le Monarch Hotel, Enzo accepted his large, customized luggage from the courier. He signed quickly, his eyes darting toward the elevators. The brief trip had already cut into his precious time with Aurora.
He turned toward the elevator bank, and he pressed the button for the eighth floor and waited, tapping his foot impatiently. The elevator doors slid open, and he stepped inside, his dark thoughts already returning to the suite.
When he reached Room 807, he inserted his keycard, expecting the tell-tale double click of the main lock and the heavy thud of the deadbolt.
But there was only a single, quiet click.
Enzo froze, his heart slamming against his ribs. The deadbolt was unlocked.
He pulled his key out, his hand shaking. Had he forgotten? He distinctly remembered sliding the heavy bolt.
He pulled his pistol from the waistband beneath his jacket. He kicked the door inward.
    The room was silent.
The silk sash lay cut and discarded on the floor by the chair. The heavy, wooden chair stood empty, pushed slightly off-center.
“Aurora!” Enzo roared, his voice cracking with disbelief and rising panic. He swept the room, checking the bathroom, the closet, and the balcony.
    Gone.
He spun back to the center of the room. Her clutch lay on the counter and his glass of scotch sat untouched.
    Nothing was missing except her.
Enzo stared at the empty chair, the silent witness to his catastrophic failure. He had built her cage, promised to keep her safe, and in less than five minutes, she had flown away.
He knew then that she hadn’t escaped the paralysis on her own. Someone else had been here.
    Matteo!?
    •••
    BACK AT THE GALA*
The soft jazz played on, oblivious to the simmering tension. It had been over an hour since Aurora had left the corner table for the restroom, and now, Matteo, was also conspicuously absent.
Maya was slumped slightly in her chair, working hard on her fourth glass of ruby-red wine. The alcohol hadn’t dulled the sting of Ace’s earlier rejection, but it had made her reckless.
Scarlett and Rosa sat nearby, watching the flow of guests while keeping a casual eye on her.
Blade swaggered over to the table, followed closely by Storm and Axe.
“Have any of you seen the Boss?” Axe asked before Blade could.
Scarlett shrugged, her gaze fixed on the crowd near the champagne tower.
    “We haven’t seen him”
“His phone went to voicemail” Storm added, checking his own device.
Just then, Ace appeared, striding quickly toward the table, his chest rising and falling heavily as though he’d sprinted up several flights of stairs. His normally cold, controlled demeanor was replaced by visible alarm.
“We can’t find Boss’s wife too” Ace stated, his voice clipped and strained. He looked directly at Maya. “You were the last one with her”
The mention of Aurora’s disappearance was a bucket of ice water. Maya instantly sobered. She pushed her chair back, the wine-fueled haze vanishing in a rush of dread.
“What do you mean, ‘can’t find her’? She told me she was visiting the restroom. She said she’d be right back”
“She left the building,” Ace ground out, running a hand over his tired eyes. “The staff saw a woman matching her description leave through a service exit one hour and some minutes ago. No one saw who picked her up”
“She wouldn’t do that,” Rosa interjected, looking from Ace to Maya. “Not without telling someone or boss”
Before the team could descend into a full-blown panic, Ace’s phone buzzed with an urgent text message. He snatched it up, reading the screen as the others clustered in anticipation.
Ace looked up, his face a mask of conflict and confusion. He read the message aloud, his voice flat with disbelief.
“Everyone should go home. I have it handled myself”
    The text was from Matteo.
A stunned silence fell over the small group.
“Handled what?” Blade finally broke the silence, his jaw dropping. “His wife goes missing, and we’re supposed to go home?”
“It’s his number,” Ace confirmed, staring at the message as if the phone would spontaneously combust. “But it doesn’t make any damn sense”
Viper sashayed over, having overheard the last sentence.
“When has the Boss ever made sense when his little lamb is involved?” she drawled, though her eyes were serious.
“If he says go home, he means he’s gone nuclear, and he wants no witnesses”
The team exchanged grim, knowing looks.
“I knew this was going to happen” Bianca scoffed, throwing her hands up in exasperation as she joined them.
“We came here on a mission, and now his stupid wife decides to be the star, making everyone focus on her, and we forgot what we came to do”
Her gaze swept over the worried faces, landing dismissively on the empty table where Aurora had sat.
“Why is she suddenly going missing? She just wants attention on her, and now Boss has gone for her,” Bianca spat, her voice dripping with venomous jealousy. “She has no respect for the Family, no respect for the operation!”
Maya, still sobered and terrified, finally snapped. Her own tumultuous relationship with Ace and her fear for her brother’s wife boiled over.
“Shut up, Bianca,” Maya hissed, pushing forward. “You’re just mad because you’re useless on a mission, you couldn’t even make Nicholas fall for you, and Matteo left the building without giving you a second glance!”
Bianca’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “At least I know my place, Maya. Unlike the little tramp who has to screw a guy just to feel important, then cries when he calls her a mistake”
Before the verbal sparring could turn physical, Ace stepped between them, his hand gripping Maya’s arm hard enough to stop her lunge.
“Enough!” Ace roared, his voice low and carrying the absolute authority. “This isn’t a damn parlor game. The Boss gave an order. We follow
    He looked at the others.
“We leave this gala now” Ace commanded.
Blade shook his head, his usual grin completely gone. “And what if he needs backup, Ace? We’re just going to sit there?”
Ace’s jaw was tight. “If he needs us, he knows how to call us. Until then, we trust the Boss knows what he’s doing and besides he can handle whatever it is on his own!”
He looked once more at the exit, his conflicted emotions clear.
Vixen was watching them from afar, his eyes solely on Ace.
    •••
The first sensation Aurora registered was the impossible softness beneath her back. The paralysis was gone, replaced by a dull, throbbing ache and the overwhelming sensation of sluggishness.
She blinked her eyes open, struggling to focus on the unfamiliar, opulent surroundings.
She wasn’t in Le Monarch Hotel. She was in a room draped in velvet and silk, illuminated by soft, expensive lighting. She lay on a large bed, covered by a rich silk duvet.
Her body felt heavy, but she could move. She cautiously flexed her fingers, then her toes. The drug had worn off entirely. She was free of the chemical vise, but she was definitely not free.
A deep wave of disorientation hit her. She sat up, clutching the duvet to her chest, her mind racing to piece together the events: Enzo, the betrayal, the paralysis… and then nothing.
The door to the room clicked open, and a man walked in.
He was tall, with light, penetrating eyes and a confident, easy demeanor. He held a silver tray with a glass of water.
Aurora felt a strange jolt of familiarity. She was sure she’d seen him before, perhaps recently, but her memory was still clouded.
He smiled. “Good, you’re awake. You needed the rest after all that”
Aurora instinctively pulled the duvet tighter. She tried to speak, but her throat felt raw and unused. Her hands searched the bedside table for something, anything, to write with. She found a pen and a small notepad.
She scrawled two words and held the pad out to him.
    “WHO ARE YOU?”
He walked to the bedside, set the tray down, and picked up the notepad, reading her question.
“My name is Nicholas,” he replied.
He leaned closer, his light eyes fixed on hers. “And we will be getting married soon”
Aurora’s eyes widened instantly in shock, and then a fierce frown creased her brow. She frantically snatched the notepad and pen, scribbling three furious words this time.
    “DELUCA? NICHOLAS DELUCA?”
Before Nicholas could confirm her sinking realization, the door opened again. A man stepped into the room, a figure of cold, imposing authority. Antonio DeLuca.
Antonio surveyed Aurora with a calculating look.
“Is that her, Nicholas? The lady you want to marry?” Antonio asked, his voice a low rumble.
“Yes, Father” Nicholas confirmed, stepping slightly aside.
Antonio walked to the foot of the bed, his presence suffocating. “Welcome home, my beautiful daughter-in-law” He paused, a terrifying sense of finality in his words.
“The wedding will be scheduled next week on Saturday”
Aurora stared at the two men, utterly speechless.
    It keeps getting worse.

    *PIAH!!!*
The sound resounded as the person landed a mighty brain displacing slap on Tasha’s cheek.
Tasha fell down on the floor, holding her cheek which was stinging as hell.
She looked up only to see Harmony glaring at her with traces of tears in her eyes.
    Harmony slapped her!
“How could you!! You pushed me in the water!! All because of Angelo? Do you know it feels to feel your soul leaving your body yet you can do nothing! What if I drowned till déad!! Is this how cruel you are!!” Harmony shouted in anger and angst.
Tasha glared at Harmony and stood up then slapped Harmony back.
“How dare you raise your bony fingers on me!! I even wonder what Angelo sees in you. Yes I pushed you and you deserve to díe. Why does everything revolve around you, a stupid girl who was dumped in an orphanage!” Tasha shouted.
“Shut up!” A kick landed on Tasha’s face and she crumpled to the ground.
She looked up to see it was Kaylee.
“You’ve said enough of sh+t for today. Now shut your trash” Kaylee said and punched her face.
“How could you Tasha..” Barbie walked in with a disappointed look on her face.
People were already gathering to know what was happening
    👥 What’s happening?
👥 I thought they were friends?
“Are you okay?” Angelo made to touch Harmony but she ran off before he could do so.
“Candy!” He immediately went after her.
“F+k off you all!! Bunch of fake friends!!” Tasha spatted and stormed off.
“Wait, Tasha!” Barbie made to go after her but Kaylee held her back.
“Just let her be” Kaylee muttered.
Barbie looked at Tasha who was walking away then she bit her lips.

Harmony continued running aimlessly with Angelo running after. She cleaned her tears but new rounds of tears fell
“Harmony! Harmony!” Angelo caught her wrist and turned her to him.
“What is wrong? Why the tears? Is it about Tasha?” Angelo cupped her cheek.
    Harmony sniffed and hiccuped..
“She’s right. What if my parents abandoned me in the orphanage? Was I that much of a burden to them? What if Tasha is right, I’m just a bad friend.. I didn’t mean to” Harmony cried.
Angelo pulled her in for a hug and kissed her hair. She buried her face on his chest, crying her eyes out.
“You’re not a bad person. Everyone makes mistakes and besides you never knew” Angelo whispered.
“I want to meet my real parents.. I want to ask them why they abandoned me? What if I wasn’t abandoned and they’re actually looking for me” Harmony looked up at him.
“Is that what you want? What of those who adopted you?” Angelo asked.
“I’m never abandoning them” Harmony muttered.
“Alright, I’ll help you out in finding your real parents” Angelo said and cleaned her tears before planting a kiss on her forehead
He pulled her back for a hug.

    <DENNIS & EVAN ROOM>
“Babe.. I can, I can explain”
“K.. Kelly” Dennis stuttered, his throat was completely dry.
His girlfriend, the girl he loves wholeheartedly, whom he always have sleepless nights thinking of how to make her forgive him for a crime he doesn’t even know… She’s right in front of him, getting f+ked..
Dennis eyes went to Evan and rage consumed him when he saw Evan, sitting there like nothing happened.
Not minding the fight that he was in a towel, he pounced on Evan and began punching him.
“You bàstard!! Motherf+ker!! How could you!? I was sharing my pain with you!!” Dennis shouted, landing heavy blows on Evan.
Evan did nothing to fight back, he just sat there smiling.
Kelly quickly wore her clothes and walked to them
“Babe.. Babe.. Please, Enough you’ll hurt him.. Babe” Kelly tried pulling Dennis back but Dennis jerked her hand off so harshly that she almost fell.
    “Get out” He said slowly.
    “Babe”
“Out!! Get out!!” Dennis grabbed her arm tightly
    “Ahh” Kelly winced painfully
Dennis dragged her to the door and threw her out before closing the door. He leaned on the door and slowly went down as tears escaped his eyes
Soon, his loud wails filled the room as he ran his hands through his hair while crying loudly.
This is the first time he’s feeling such pain in the heart. All the good memories spent with Kelly began surging in and that just broke him more.
“Didn’t know you could punch this hard” Evan smirked, touching the bruise beside his lips after he zipped his trouser.
He walked to Dennis and crouched down in front of him with that usual smile on his lips. Dennis glared at him hatefully..
“You know this isn’t the first time she’s cheating on you. I’m actually the fourth guy if I’m not wrong” Evan said and Dennis’s eyes widened.
    “What?”
“Yup. I really pitied you back then and the way she was manipulating you so I decided to show you the slvt you’re giving your heart to” Evan said.
“And you had to f+k her before proving it?” Dennis scowled.
    Evan chuckled.
“You know I can’t refuse the call of p+sy. My job is done here, I have no job in your life again… And I don’t feel remorseful, after all we were never friends, just course mate. Now it’s up to you to choose, whether to wise up and move on or to continue being a fool” Evan patted his shoulder and stood up before leaving the room.

    <WINTER’S ROOM>
“Winter! I’m so done!” Kelly barged into Winter’s room with tears in her eyes.
Winter who was applying lipstick on her lips sighed and rolled her eyes
“What again..” She muttered and turned to face Kelly.
“It’s Dennis, he caught me red handed in bed with Evan. What do I do now? He looked so mad!” Kelly cried loudly
“Do I look like a counsellor to you?” Winter asked and rolled her eyes.
“Besides why are you so worked up? Why cheat on Dennis when you don’t wanna loose him” Winter resumed in applying her makeup.
“I really love him Winter… But I can’t stick to one d*ck my whole life” Kelly said.
    “That’s your problem” Winter scoffed.
“Winter?” Cassidy’s meek voice sounded from the door.
Winter looked at her and she slowly walked in with her hear down.
“You… You called for me?” Cassidy asked.
Winter stood up and walked to her. Without warning, she landed a heavy slap on Cassidy’s cheek.” You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng” Cassidy stood on her spot without shaking, she was expecting the slap anyways.
“Ahh!!” She cried out when Winter grabbed her hair harshly.
“You b+ch! The trip is over! Tomorrow we’re going back to Chicago yet you did nothing concerning our plans. Are you trying to get on my nerve, you little pile of punk!” Winter spatted angrily at her face.
    “I’m… I’m sorry, it’s just that-”
Winter landed another slap on her face and pushed her down.
“I’m tired of your lame excuses!!” Winter shouted and almost immediately, two guys entered the room.
“You called for us?” One of the guys asked.
“Tear off her clothes and touch her all you want but don’t f+k her.. You’re free to touch anywhere, after all she’s beautiful because of me” Winter smirked
A horrified look settled on Cassidy’s face when the words left Winter’s lips.
    “Winter…” Cassidy stuttered.
“What are you waiting for? We’ll leave the room for you three. You can even make her to give you a blowjob” Winter winked and left the room with Kelly, locking the door behind.
“Let’s enjoy” They licked their lips and began approaching Cassidy who shifted back with her butt
“No.. No… Don’t touch me, please” She begged but they grabbed her and began tearing off her clothes.
“No!! Let me go!! Please!! I beg you!!” Cassidy cried loudly and tried to pushed them but one pinned her hands down.
The other guy began squeezing her b👀bs, playing with it before taking one of her n**ples in his mouth, sucking on it.
“Help…” Cassidy cried out weakly and closed her eyes in disgust.

    <RESTROOM>
There’s a restroom in the hotel, and that’s where Tasha was. She was starring at her reflection in the mirror as tears fell from her eyes.
She cleaned them and sniffed in..
“You’re better than them.. They don’t deserve you” She said to herself and nodded in affirmation before washing her hands, leaving the restroom.
Outside of the restroom, stood Chance waiting for her. Their gazes locked but Tasha was the first to look away, she made to walk away but Chance held her hand
“Tasha we need to talk” Chance said.
“If you’re here to lecture me about Harmony, then we can just stop being friends” Tasha said sternly.
“Ruining a beautiful friendship because of a guy, is that really worth it?” Chance asked and Tasha turned to him
“Tell me if you and your friend fall for the same girl, will you back down for your friend?” Tasha asked.
    “Yes, I’ll do so”
“Great! If you’re an angel then I’m not, I’ll never back down” Tasha said and jerked his hand off then made to leave.
“I love you!” Chance said loudly, that made Tasha to halt.
“I love you Tasha, a lot” Chance said
Tasha slowly turned and looked at him sideways.
“I love Angelo” She muttered and began walking away
Chance made to go after her but someone hugged him from behind.
“No, don’t go… Just stay” Barbie muttered tightening her hold around his waist.
Chance slowly folded his fists and looked down.

    <ROOM 27>
Kaylee walked in the room and sighed tiredly. She pulled off her shoe and tossed it to one corner before removing her big hoodie, leaving her in her baggy jeans and shirt.
She grabbed a bottle on the desk and began drinking from it when her eyes caught Brandon sleeping on the bed.
Kaylee dropped the bottle and walked to the bed then sat down on the space next to him. She smiled as she ran her hands through his hair.
“You fool.. How dare you make my heart race so fast just by staring at you” Kaylee smiled.
Her gaze went to his lips and she bit her lips and just as if she was under a trance, she began leaning in for his lips.
Their lips were almost touching when Brandon slowly opened his eyes and was surprised to see her face this close to his. Kaylee’s widened and she blinked.
    She quickly slapped him immediately.
    “Ouch..” Brandon held his cheek
“I saw a big.. A big mosquito on your cheek so I was just killing it” She grinned.
    Brandon scoffed, rubbing his cheek.
“You look pale.. Do you have a fever?” Kaylee touched his forehead and his temperature was high
“Gosh! You do have a fever!” Kaylee exclaimed.
“Reason why I hate crying, I always have a fever but no need to worry, it’ll be down by tomorrow morning” Brandon said.
“No buts, just lay down first” Kaylee pushed him down to the bed.
She rushed to the bathroom and came back with a moist towelette which she began dabbing on his forehead.
Brandon watched her and he suddenly smiled.
    “Thank you” He said
    “Huh?” Kaylee looked at him
“Thank you for caring about me and for consoling and for not judging me and for many other things I can’t remember” Brandon said
    Kaylee mirrored his smile

    <NEXT DAY≈THE RODRIGUEZ, 4PM>
The students who went to the trip were all back, same as Angelo. He could be seen in his room, checking the time over and over again.
“Why is time so slow. Can’t it be 7pm already?” He groaned. He swiped through the various pics on his phone and stopped at the one he took with Harmony when they were lost in the woods.
He smiled and immediately used it as his wallpaper. The door to his room swung open at full force and that startled him
To his greatest surprise, Brandon walked in with his hands in his pocket
“Brandon?” He called to make sure he wasn’t hallucinating.
“What? Why act like you’ve seen a ghost? Aren’t you happy to see me?” Brandon scoffed.
He walked round the room, looking at the furniture in it.
“Nothing changed, it’s still the same” Brandon said and stopped in front of his table. A car toy was there.
“Don’t tell me you still have this. You stole it from me when we were 6” Brandon smiled, remembering the good old days.
    “Brandon?” Angelo called again
“What are you doing here…” He added
“You have Harmony to thank for, I’m honoring my wish to her. You better not break her heart or else I’ll kíll you for real” Brandon said meanly
Angelo smiled and stood up then walked to him and hugged Brandon immediately.
“I missed you..” Angelo sniffed, fighting back his tears of joy.
“Wait, don’t tell me you’re gonna cry? Jeez, you’ve never changed. And stop hugging me, you know I hate hugs, we’re not gay” Brandon tried to push him off but Angelo hugged him tighter.
“Angelo, let me go or else I’ll kill you. Angelo!!” Brandon fidgeted.
“I’m sorry, I’m really sorry. I’d never think of betraying you, I didn’t do it intentionally. I’m sorry” Angelo finally let his tears out.
Brandon sighed and slowly patted his back.
    “Crybaby…”

    <7PM>
“Come pick me up in one hour from now” Harmony told her driver who drove off afterwards.
She looked around and smiled. She could vividly remember all this place in her memory.
Well today makes it 14 years that she met with her childhood crush and that means they’ll be meeting again today.
She was so nervous at the thought that it was Brandon. So she was indirectly crushing on Brandon?
She exhaled loudly before walking to where they both meet. She could still remember where they met so she followed the map on her phone.
“It’s here, bingo!” Harmony said, looking at her phone.
She looked up and her jaw dropped to the floor at what she saw. The place was beautifully decorated with petal of roses everywhere, the dim lights in their numbers illuminated the area and a dinner table for two stood in the middle of the area
The music “Perfect” By Ed Sheeran was playing at the background giving the place a very romantic vibe.
No doubt that all these really costs the person a lot to arrange.
After few minutes of looking around, she finally noticed a figure who had his back turned to her
Her heart skipped a beat…That’s “Crybaby”. That’s him!
He slowly turned to her and his face came to view. Her phone fell from her hand when she saw it was none other than-
    Angelo!
    “An.. Angelo?” Harmony stuttered.
“Love is an understatement for how I feel about you. I want to show to the world that I’ve met the girl that makes me feel hundreds of things at once just by her smile. Harmony, will you be my girlfriend… Will you be my Candy?”
    Harmony’s eyes widened..

        AURORA POV

I couldn’t get over what Alex did to me and I was sour all through the day.

“Why do you have that look on your face?”. Nina asked interrupting me and I sighed.”You are not eating your food”.

” I just lost my appetite”.

“What happened? You have been sour all day, did you fight with Alex”.

       ” Worst than a fight”. I said.

“Hmm, you two are having a couple  fights, you wanna tell me what happened? Is it about the hang-out the other night?”. She asked and I nodded. ” What? he got angry?”.

“It would have been better, I got the hardest punishment of my life”. I said and Nina pushed closer to me.

” What did he do to you, I want to know”.

I sighed.”Believe me, you don’t want to know”. I sip from my juice.

“Hmm, I guess the punishment was something annoying that’s why you are pissed off”.

” Exactly! He got me in the mood and left, saying is my punishment for disobeying him, do you know what it means to leave one caving for your touch”. I gulp my drink angrily and Nina giggles. “Not funny, am suffocating here”.

” Am sorry, I just can’t help it, you mean he did that to you?”.

“Yes, and right now I am not over it, I still need his touch over me and I am yawning for his kisses….Why does he have to have all the tricks to make a woman yawn for him”. I grunts.

” I totally understand your pain, but that’s too much, have you tried to get close to him today if–“.

“The annoying thing is that he is not in the office, he had a business meeting to attend, I still wonder how he found out”. I said confusedly.

” Am sorry, I guess is my fault, I was too drunk that I didn’t know when I called Richard”. she said and I turned to her.

“You did?”. I asked and she nodded innocently and I sighed at her.

” don’t be stressed about it, he will come around”. Nina said.

       “I don’t care anymore”. I said angrily.

” You know you can’t hide it, you two are obsessed with each other and you can resist him”.

“I will, I will overcome it, trust me”. I smirk.

” Ok fine! Have it your way”. Nina said and we went quiet for a while.

“What about you? how did it go with Richard?” I asked and she blushed “Something special happened between the two of you?”.

       ” Yes”. She nodded.

“Really? You guys finally did it”. I said happily.

” Yeah, it was perfect and it felt like my first time, Richard is such a perfect and passionate guy”. she said blushing.

“Aww, am so happy for you, at least one of us has to get laid”.

” Yeah, but do you know he actually knows about my past with my uncle?”.

       “He knows? How?”.

” He had to confront him two days after he was jailed and he said he told him everything and even regretted his action”.

“Oh, he knew all these while, he is such a daring man, I am glad you two are together”.

” I know right”. We laughed and my eyes suddenly caught sight of a familiar lady heading to Alex’s office with a lunch bag.”What are you staring at?”.

“That lady”. I said and Nina turned in the direction.

” Do you know her? She looks familiar”.

“Yeah, she was in the hospital that day we came to visit Richard”.

“Oh, but why is she here? And she is heading to Alex’s office, I thought you said he is out for a business meeting”.

” Yeah”. I stood up. “Excuse me “. I rushed to her quickly when she tried to open the door. ” Excuse me miss”. I said politely and she stopped and turned in my direction. She looked at me surprisedly I guess she remembered my face.

“I know you, you were with Alex at the hospital when he came to see Richard”. She said.

        ” Yes”. I replied.

        “Oh, you work here?”.

        ” Yes, I do”.

“Oh, I thought as much, anyway, am here to see Alex “. She turned to leave and I stopped her.

” He is not around, he is out for a business meeting”.

“Oh really? But I just got off the phone with him before I left work and he said he was in his office”. She said and I was surprised.

        ” He did?”.

“Yeah”. She stared at me for a while and spoke.” Are you his secretary?”. I nodded. “Oh, I see, I guess you are not doing your job well as a secretary, you should know when your boss goes out and come in”. She said unlikely and walked away

I was stunned by her attitude and I rushed to stop her, but to my greatest surprise, I saw Alex in his office working on his laptop, immediately he saw her, he stopped to welcome her and they hugged and pecked each other before they sat down. I was pissed off and I had to go back to the canteen to continue my lunch.

        ” What happened?”.Nina asked.

“Alex is in his office”. I said biting my apple angrily.

” When did he arrive? How come you didn’t know about it?”.

“I don’t know, he invited the lady over, how cunning can he be”. I blunted.

” I guess is nothing serious going on between them”.

“Really? She brought lunch for him, and I know right now they are having the meal together”. I frowned.

    .

    .

    .

Some minutes later, I returned to my office to see Alex walking the lady out of his office, I could see the smiles on their faces. “You are reading from www.mhiztaemy.com.ng”I sat down and started operating my laptop, after a while, Alex came over standing in front of me.

” Do I have any schedule today?”. He asked and I ignored him pretending I didn’t hear him.”Aurora?”.he called

” I will read it to you in your office”. I replied without looking at him, I noticed his hesitation before he left for his office. I sighed and I took my iPad and left for his office and started reading the schedule for him.”You will be having–“.I got interrupted.

“Is something wrong?”. he asked staring at me.

       ” what do you mean?”.

       “Your cold attitude towards me”.

       ” No sir”.

“Sir? Since when did you start referring to me as ‘Sir’”. He asked as he stood up and moved toward me.” Are you angry?”.

“No, if you don’t mind, may I continue?”. I asked and I continued reading. ” And the remainder of your family masquerade party this weekend, that’s all”.

“Will you come to the party?”.

” Yeah, I am your Secretary after all, so I go where you go, if you don’t mind I would like to go back to work”. I turned to leave, but he stopped me.

“Aurora, please don’t be upset with me, if you are angry about Elizabeth coming to my office–“.

I cut him short.” No, I am not”. I smiled forcedly at him. “If only you knew how miserable I am right now for making me cave for you, but I will wait to see who approaches each other first”. I thought and walked away. I could still feel his gaze on me.

    .

    .

    .

    .

Later at home, I was helping my grandmother in the kitchen with the thought of Alex was still in mind, I refused him for a lift home today and I know he is restless why I am avoiding him, I just have to, for him to feel the pain I am feeling. I noticed my phone ringing to no-stop and I knew it was a call from Alex.

” Aren’t you going to answer that?”.My grandmother asked.

       “No granny is not important”.

” Are you sure? It could be from your company”.

“No Granny, is just some random call”. I said and took my phone from the dining.” I will be in my room”. I left.

      NARRATOR POV

Meanwhile, Alex was feeling restless in his room as Aurora refused to pick up his call.

💬”Please pick up, I really want to speak to you”. He texted and waited for a reply, but none but it was read. “Come on Aurora, I dying here if you don’t respond to my messages or calls, am sorry if it was what happened at the office today, Elizabeth just came to share lunch with me at the office, nothing more, I don’t have any serious relationship with her, please talk to me”. He texted and waited for a reply, but none came from Aurora. he sighed frustratedly and fell on the bed staring at the ceiling. Then his cell phone rang, he checked the caller ID quickly and sighed thinking it was Aurora.📞” Hello Mom”. he said as he picked up.

📞”Hello son, how are you?”.She asked from the other end of the phone.

📞”Am fine, and you? How is Grandpa?”.

📞”We are fine, how is Nora and the baby?”.

      📞”Fine mom”.

📞”Good, I just called to check up on you and to also remind you of the party this weekend”.

📞”I know Mom, I will be there”.

       📞”Sure, bring Nora along”.

       📞”I will”.

📞”Good night son, I love you”.

📞”Love you too Mom, good night “. He hung up and sighed.

         •• Elizabeth’s room••

Elizabeth was in her room and was on the phone with Spike.

📞” Yes, the party will be a better way to expose her dirty secret”. She laughed.”This is beginning to feel like fun, I can’t believe she will do something like that, this will be her end, I deserve Alex better and I will have him all to myself”. She laughed and then hung up. “This is just the beginning”. She smirks staring at one spot.

The next day at the office Alex was so occupied with work that he didn’t have enough time to settle with Aurora, the same goes for Aurora who was busy trying to put things together and they never had time to sit down and talk until Alex had to travel three days for a business trip, Aurora had to stay behind to handle the rest work.
