After giving Elena Valentine my card, I walked back to the Auditorium and then I see Lydia and Mark waiting for me at the door with their hands folded.

“I know that look.” I said smiling.

“We saw you give that lady your card. What is going on?” Lydia asked and I smiled.

“Okay this would sound crazy but I think I am in love with her.” I said and they looked at each other and bursted into laughter.

“What? A girl you just met? You haven’t even known her for more than an hour. Seriously dude?” Mark asked and I heaved…

“I know it sounds crazy but I think this is love at first sight. I want her.” I said to them and they sighed.

“Okay, so what if this woman of your dream isn’t who you really think she is?” Lydia asked.

“Exactly, answer that.” Mark supported.

“Then there is only one way to find out. I have to study her, the way she thinks, the way she handles situations, her anger, and the likes.” I stated counting my fingers as I did.

“And how do you plan on achieving that?” Lydia asked folding her hands.

“With your help guys.” I said grinning and they looked at each other in confusion.

“I asked Lydia to be as bi**chy as possible. Mark as good and useful as possible and my step mother the most caring of them all.”

“They all did their parts greatly especially Lydia. I saw how much she frustrated you, but trust me it was all drama. Lydia is one one the nicest persons I have ever met.” I said smiling.

“OMG! I can’t believe you did all this. And hold on, you said Lydia is the nicest person? But she judged me harshly.” She replied and I nodded.

“Yes I know. Before anyone is admitted into the institution, we need to look strict as we can so they would work hard on their singing.”

“And because of how harsh she spoke to you, you still wanted to get into that institution. That’s what we try to register into the participants.”

“It was because of the feelings I had for you I have you a three.” I said and she pouted her mouth.

“Not that it was worth it right?” She asked and I nodded reluctantly.

“I am sorry about all these. I just wanted to know who you really are.” I stated and she nodded.

“And did I pass your little test?” She asked looking at me and I nodded.

“Excellently. If you didn’t, I wouldn’t have given you that.” I said pointing to the ring, and she smiled.

“You are yet to tell me how Regina and Jason came in.” She said and I chuckled.

“You meant Sandra and Philips?” I asked and she nodded laughing.

“Actually when Lydia noticed how you handled the situation she thought would tear us apart, she decided to put you through another test, weigh heavier than all we planned.”

“She organized both of them thinking you would flare up and leave me after listening to their news and seeing a fake DNA result.”

“But we were and are still astonished that you could handle that situation in the best way you could. You didn’t create a scene, you were damn selfless.”

“After we saw all these, I knew you are the perfect one for me and everyone adviced me to go for it, even Philips. So here we are, I went for it and you accepted me.” I said smiling and all she did was bow her head.

“I can’t still believe Jason… I mean Philip put on that act to test me. Oh My God, it was so real and I would have never believed it was just an act.” She stated and I nodded.

“Congratulations to us once again.” I said and we both laughed kissing and hugging each other.

I stared at Regina and then Elena cut us short.

“Regina, can I have a word please?” Elena asked and she opened the door wider.

“Come in.” She said in the very gentle manner she always used to talk when I met her. And that was what made me fall in love with her.

“Thank you.” Elena stated and walked in. She also gave me the look which meant ‘aren’t you coming in?’

Then Jason held my hand and pulled me into the room. I walked in looking at Regina and she looked away.

With the way the little boy treated me, it was like we had this connection. Though the connection wasn’t that sure, I am yet to run the tests. I like him.

And it will be so hurting to him if the test comes out negative. Indeed, he desperately needs a father.

And I don’t know why Regina didn’t get married to another person. 

“I am sorry for coming to you this way. I just think we really need to talk. I know this isn’t my business, but I want to talk on behalf of my boyfriend Jace.” Elena said and she gestured her to seat.

“Go on. I don’t have a choice.” She said smiling and Elena sat too.

Jason climbed the bed and asked me to come to him. I looked at Regina and she gave me a go ahead. I got to the bed and he asked me to lay next to him.

I lay on my side and then he placed my hand across his body and shut his eyes.

A smile curved at the corner of my lips as I stared at his face. He looked very handsome.

“So, I know things wouldn’t have been easy, raising this child without his father.” Elena muttered.

“God has been faithful.” She replied and I looked at her.

“I am sorry about what Jace did ten years ago. He was still young and didn’t know what he was doing.” Elena said.

“I realized that ten years ago too…” She stated.

“Elena. Elena is my name.” She replied and she nodded.

“Nice meeting you Elena.” She said and Elena smiled.

“Same here Regina.”

“So, back to Jason. I know you have no right to lie because you had everything under control and you have been okay for ten years.”

“But you know it’s not just possible to accept him just like that without getting sure.”

“You both planned you were going to get rid of the baby, and then you went away. So to him, you had the abortion. So please can you tell me what happened?” Elena asked and she nodded.

“I agreed to get rid of the baby because he wouldn’t stop making an issue out of it. I told him I won’t be aborting my baby but he didn’t even want to hear it. I knew if I kept it, he won’t keep getting furious. So I went away, I left to take care of my baby.” She explained and I felt bad hearing that again.

I looked at Jason and I saw he was fast asleep. His hand was on mine, holding me to himself so I don’t leave.

“Regina I am sorry. I didn’t know what I was doing. I was young and scared.” I muttered sadly and she smiled.

“I knew that years ago and that’s why I didn’t call you to tell you anything. I wanted to do everything on my own by myself.” She stated and Elena signed.

“I am so sorry Regina.” Elena said and she nodded looking at Jason.

“Yes you are. Looks like Jason thinks he finally got what he wants. He seems to sleep soundly. Poor child.” She said and I looked at Jason again.

He was all sweaty already and I knew we should put on the air conditioner.

“Please can you help me with the Air conditioner Elena, he is sweaty and I can’t stand up.” I said and she looked at me and nodded.

Regina stood up and helped switch it on. 

“Thanks.” I replied looking at Jason again.

“Regina, I came up with an Idea. You have given Jason the impression that he has father and he seems to like Jace very much. But we aren’t sure, we need medical proof.” Elena stated and she bowed her head smiling.

“So you think I made this up?” She asked and I responded.

“No Regina. I just want to be 100% sure. I need to know if he is really my son.” I said.

“What do you care? It’s not like you accept him or anything. Seeing the proof won’t change anything.” She muttered.

“Maybe it would. He would take his full responsibility as Jason’s father if it comes out true. Jason deserves to know his father, and this test would let us know for sure.” Elena said and then she nodded.

“Fine. DNA test it is then.” She said and I breathed our in relieve.

I couldn’t bear to stay away from him because there is no proof, and then down in my heart knowing I should show the boy love.

He likes me and I know it. I just don’t know what to hope for. Is it that the results are negative? Then Jason would be heartbroken and may even hate me.

If they are positive, then I get my son and I have to start seeing Regina as the mother of my son. 

What about Elena? What if Jason wants Regina and I to be together?

“Thank you Regina. And I must say you are a very nice woman.” Elena said and she nodded.

“Thank you.  But I would do anything to see my son happy. And he looks happy with Jace. And if it’s just a test that would keep him happy then I am ready to do it.” She said and I smiled faintly.

I did miss her. And I never wanted to talk about her in the part years because I always had this guilt in me anything I thought about it.

I was so cruel to her, and that makes me a monster and a wicked father to baby Jason.

“We would leave now.” Elena said standing up and she nodded standing up too.

They exchanged kisses and then looked at me smiling.

“He held my hand. I can’t remove it without waking him up.” I said and Regina sighed.

“I would wake him.” She said and Elena stopped her.

“No don’t. Let him be. I will leave you.” Elena said and I furrowed my brows looking at her. She approached me and I was about to talk when she spoke up.

“We have more time. He wants and needs you here. I will be fine.” She said and I smiled nodding.

She planted a kiss on my lips and walked to the door taking a last look at me with a smile on her face before walking out.

Regina shut the door behind her, and then it was left the three of us in the room.

I began to weep as soon as I got to the house. Not because he lied to me, but because he had been in love with me and he didn’t tell me.

He had to bring up this shit of a story so as to bring me closer. But I, I was busy using him against Stefan who isn’t worth it at all.

And I know I hurt him badly. 

But wait, does his mom know about this too? I mean was she also decieved? I don’t want to lie to her. She has been so good to me.” I thought walking out of the room again.

I got to the living room and I met Jace sitting on the couch, with his head bowed. He looked sad.

“Jace.” I called and he rose up his head to look at me.

“Elena.” I replied standing up.

“Was your step mother decieved too?” I asked and he heaved shaking his head.

“I told her right from the beginning the love I had for you. I told her about the plan and she agreed to play along.” He said smiling.

“So all the liking me was fake?” I asked and he shook his head again.

“Elena my stepmother would never pretend to like you, if she doesn’t. Don’t you see she is trying to bring us closer? It’s because she loves you Elena. Right from the time I told her about you.” He Stated and I walked up to him standing right in front of him.

“I am sorry.” I pleaded.

“For what?? Elena I should be the one saying that.” He said and I shook my head.

“No. I never knew you had feelings for me, and I kept using you against Stefan. Even kissed you countless times for fun, and I know how hard that would be.” I explained and he sighed.

“Elena I have forgiven you before you ever apologized. I am the one at fault and I am sorry too. I should have told you how I felt, but instead I took this selfish path to have you closer to me.” He said sadly and I held his head in my hands.

“Jace I forgive you. And that is because I love you.” I said smiling and he returned the smile carrying me in his hands.

He planted a kiss on my lips and I opened up kissing him back deeply. Holding his head at to what direction I want it to go.

“We shouldn’t miss our flight you know.” I muttered against his mouth and he smiled.

“Thank God you didn’t stay too long thinking it through. We would have missed that flight.” He said and I chuckled.

“Let’s move now. I will give a call to Celine.” I said and he nodded. He put me down and he kissed my forehead. 

I walked to my room, and picked up my phone to call Celine.

                        CELINE 

“So this is all the stuff I would be needing.” I said to myself smiling.

“Looks more than enough.” I heard Josh say behind me, and I smiled. I looked back and he walked closer to me.

“You are all set.” I said and he smiled.

“Yep!” He said looking very cute.

“Okay.” I said nodding and blushing at the same time.

“Believe it or not, I couldn’t stop thinking about this trip.” He said and I arced my brows.

“Why?” I asked eagerly.

“Because I will be somewhere separate with a great beauty by my side. That’s enough Joy.” He said walking closer.

“That’s so sweet of you.” I whispered as soon as he got right in front of me.

“Permit me to do this.” He said and he rose up my cheeks and planted a kiss on it.

I flushed immediately, but inside of me, I wanted that kiss on my lips.

He stared into my eyes, and I shut mine holding his head forward and kissing him on his lips.

He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his Torso.

His hand ran over my a*s, and that alone sent this tingling feeling between my legs.

He moved me to the table and made me sit on it without disengaging from the kiss.

My hands moved to his neck, and I wrapped it around it arcing my back as I kept kissing him.

His hand trailed up my thighs in the gown I was wearing, and that made me shiver. He was about lifting up the clothes when my phone began to ring.

“One minute.” I whispered kissing him, before reaching for my phone which was next to me on the table.

I picked it up and I saw it was Elena.

📲 Elena hey..

📲Hey Celine, how are you??

📲 Great, and in the middle of something.

📲Ohh sounds … We will be leaving in the next thirty minutes, and I need to know you are prepared. You and Josh.

📲I am prepared. We will meet at the airport right?

📲Yes sure. And that thing you are busy with, you can complete it on our way out.

📲Sounds like fun.

I hung up and looked at Josh who was smiling.

“We need to move now.” I said and he nodded smiling.

“So we won’t finish this.” He said biting his lower lip.

“We will do it in the plane.” I said and he laughed.

I walked down the stairs to get myself water, when i met Jace and Celine chatting and laughing.

I ignored them and walked to the kitchen to take water. I was feeling so jealous, yes. I couldn’t deny it.

I was drinking the water when my phone vibrated. I opened it and I saw Stefan calling. I heaved rolling my eyes before picking up.

📲Are you less busy

📲I thought we should hang out, you know….

📲Stefan, I am not really in the mood to go out. I need to rest.

📲Oh really. It’s fine. I can come over.

📲No Stefan. Don’t, you don’t have to. I will do just fine.

📲Okay. I actually thought we were getting back to the old ways but…

📲There is no going back to the old ways for both of us Stefan. 

📲Wow, you finally got Celine’s advice right? After seeing she Is going after Jace.

📲What do you mean??

I hung up and stared into space trying to get what he was trying to say. 

“What does he mean by Celine’s advice? What did she tell him?

I walked out of the kitchen and headed to the Living room to where Jace and Celine was.

“I hope I am not interrupting anything?” I asked smriking.

“Not at all Elena. You care to join us?” Celine asked looking at me and so was Jace. He kept staring at me.

“I would prefer I talked to you in private Celine.” I said staring at her.

“Is everything okay?” Jace asked.

“Yes it is. It’s girls talk. So please can you please release your girlfriend for few minutes.” I said faking a smile and she looked at Jace.

“Excuse me.” She said standing up and I led the way to the room.

“Elena what is this about?” She asked and I turned to look at her.

“What did you tell to Stefan?” I asked folding my hands.

“So that idiot talked to you.” She said sighing.

“Yes he did. And I need to know what you told him Celine.” I said sitting on the bed.

“Fine, I will tell you. Just know that I did it because of the love I have for you.”

“The last time we talked about Stefan and it seemed like you weren’t ready to wise up about that fact that he doesn’t want you anymore..”

“I went to his house the next morning to talk to him, and when he opened up, I walked Into the house and saw he had naked ladies all over his house. The pictures he uploaded on Instagram.”

“I told him I needed him to let you know he had moved on and he doesn’t love you anymore since you can’t see it clearly that he doesn’t.”

“He said it’s quite obvious but you just don’t want to see it. He said he thought you have moved on since you are with Jace, and didn’t even come to town for you in the first place.”

“I said he shouldn’t tell that to me, but to you because you didn’t want to give Jace a chance because of him. Though I didn’t tell him about Jace.” 

“He promised to make it clear to you. But clearly he changed his mind about that .” She explained.

“So he suspected I was pretending to be happy with Jace when you told him, that’s why he came back to me.” I said looking at her.

“He came bacK? When?” She asked.

“We went out on a date, and that same restaurant, you came In with Jace. So I left earlier.” I said looking at her.

“You saw us?” She asked and I nodded.

“Yes I did. And I left early because I couldn’t stand it.” I said with my head bowed and she held my hand.

“Listen Elena. This….” She said and then we heard some noises In the living room.

“Who is that?” She asked.

“There is only one way to find out.” I said standing up as we both walked out to the living room.

We got there and I saw Jace’s stepmother Andrey in the living room.

“Mrs Stone. Good day Ma’am.” I said happily.

“My beautiful Fiancee. How are you doing?” She asked hugging me.

“I am great.” I said and she looked at Celine.

“Who is she?” She asked looking at us.

“Our friend.” Jace and I chorused staring at each other.

“My childrens friend are my friends too.” She said hugging Celine and she smiled.

“Good day Ma’am.” She said and she nodded.

“Good news! There is this wonderful vacation I want you two to go. It’s for couples.” She said touching my cheek and Jace’s.

We looked at each other and then looked at Celine who was speechless.

“Can you drop by the house later today?” Jace sent a message.

“I can. And I will ;-).” I replied and began to prepare to get to his house. I was happy he was finally inviting me to his house.

Who knows he may wants me to meet his mother.

I wore one of my best clothing and hit the road in no time. I was still rushing when I mistakenly hit someone and my bag fell.

“I am so sorry.” We chorused bending to get the bag. As we met below together, our heads hit each other and we both fell to the ground on our a*ses.

Chat martinmartino on zero eight one eighty thirty fourteen twenty one to be added to his whatsapp group. 

I looked at the guy and we laughed at the same time. 

“I am so sorry.” He said standing up and helping me up.

“I should be the one saying sorry. I just have looked while I was walking.” I said and he smiled handing my bag over to me.

“And I should have made way for you but I didn’t. So I ended up hitting you.” He said and I laughed again.

“Thanks.” I said smiling. He was actually handsome.

“Josh.” He said passing his hand to me.

“Celine.” I replied taking his hand, and we shook hands.

“You live around here?” He asked and I smiled.

“Yes i do. And you?” I asked with our hands still connected.

“I just got into town. It’s a really beautiful town, with lot of beautiful ladies I must say.” He said and I laughed flushing a little.

“Well that’s just the tip of an ice Berg. You are yet to see the real beauty in the town.” I said looking around and he looked impressed.

“Really? Then I guess I will be needing an adventure partner.” He said and I smiled looking at him.

“I bet you do.” I said and he smiled.

“So can we see some other time? Chat over coffee and then have a little tour around the town since I am a newbie.” He said and I smiled.

“Sounds like fun to me.” I said.

“We have a deal then.” He said and I nodded.

“Yes we do.” I replied.

“So can you give me your digits? So I can talk to you over the phone and fix a date?” He asked and I nodded.

“Sure.” I said collecting his phone and inserting my digits inside of it.

“Thank you Celine. It was a pleasure meeting you.” He said and I smiled.

“It was a pleasure meeting you too.” I said as we shook each other’s hand once more before parting ways.

I smiled looking back to see him looking at me too. We waved at each other again until it was time to make a turn.

I took my turn and began to walk first again so as to get to Jace’s apartment on time.

I got to his apartment and I pressed the door bell waiting for him to open up the door.

“I’m coming.” I heard Elena’s voice and my heart skipped at the sound of her voice.

The door opened and as soon as she saw me she had this look on her face that I didn’t recognize. 

Maybe the “what are you doing here face.”

“Elena.” I called smiling as I hugged her.

“Hey. What are you doing here? You didn’t tell me you were coming.” She said hugging me too.

“Actually it’s a surprise.” I said forcing the smile to stay on my face.

“Celine?” I heard Jace call from inside the house and I didn’t know the expression to display in front of Elena.

“Hey Jace.” I said walking into the house after Elena made way for me.

“You are here.” He said happily kissing my cheeks and I smiled faintly not knowing the reaction to display In the presence of Elena.

I looked at her and I saw her swallow hard.

“I will be inside my room.” She said walking away before I could make any Statement.

After minutes of swimming and staring at each other, we decided to stop swimming. I moved out of the water swaying my water because of the water that was on it.

I felt Jace’s gaze on my backside as I did, and I looked at him over my shoulders.

“Don’t you think that isn’t Polite?” I said Smiling and he bowed his head.

“I am sorry, I can’t just…”

“Help it. Got it.” I said finally turning to look at him.

“I should go put on something decent before somebody or my friend comes in to meet me like this, and start thinking otherwise.” I said and he smiled.

“Can I ask you something before you go?” He asked and I nodded eagerly.

“Anything.” I said smiling.

“That kiss. Was it real? Or part of the fake ones?” He asked and I smiled.

“Jace, no one was around when I kissed you. My phone wasn’t with me when I kissed you. I kissed you because I wanted to kiss you. For real this time.” I said and he smiled.

“I will get dressed.” I said picking the towel and tieing it round my body. I walked away from the pool, into the house and straight to my room with large beam on my face.

I got to the room and began to get rid of my wet clothings. I kept recalling the kiss Jace and I had at the pool again.

One thing just didn’t seem to be clear to me. Why he kissed me back so passionately even after going on a date with Celine and claiming how good she is.

And I know Celine is crazily In love with him too. Maybe that kiss was just for fun, I shouldn’t expect more.

I can’t hurt Celine. I already made it clear that I didn’t like Jace and I wanted Stefan back. Maybe I should just stick to that.

It’s for everyone’s good. Jace is Celine’s now. I shouldn’t disrupt that union.

I was getting another Clothing from my closet when I heard that annoying familiar voice in the living room.

“what does Lydia want this time?” I asked angrily. I wore my clothes in haste and hit the stairs down to the living room.

“Jace we need to talk.” She said to Jace who had already changed his clothes. Well I wasn’t surprised, guys don’t waste time on their wears.

“Lydia what is it this time? To be honest, I am tired and I need to rest.” He said weakly and then I walked closer to them.

“Jace is very tired right now, so you can talk to me instead. I will tell him exactly what you said.” I said standing in front of her.

“I wish I could. But it’s very obvious to yourself that you know nothing about music talkless of the music institute.” She said and Jace held my hand immediately.

“Elena don’t worry. You can go up now, we would talk for few minutes and we are done.” He said looking at me and I nodded still staring at Lydia.

“Few minutes it is. You know you should take a good nap, after the stress we went through today.” I said smiling and he nodded grinning too.

I looked at Lydia once more as I moved up the stairs. I really wanted to know what was going on in the institute that took such urgency. 

All I hope for is that nothing tampers with me getting into that institute.

“What is this about Lydia?” I asked in a whisper.

“Why are you whispering?” She asked looking confused and i sighed.

“Just answer the question Lydia. What’s going on at the institute?” I asked in a whisper.

“What is going is that the institute is falling apart because the owner has decided to keep himself occupied with some unnecessary things.” She said in a loud tone and I placed my palm against her mouth.

“Stop raising your voice okay?” I said and she narrowed her gaze.

“What are you hiding?” She asked and I shook my head.

“Nothing. Tell me what you think I need to do.” I said standing akimbo.

“You need to come back to your institute okay? Our long time clients have been visiting these days and they have been demanding to see you personally, not the manager.” She said and I breathed out heavily.

“And why are you just telling me this?” I asked.

“Because I thought mark would be responsible enough to let you know this but he has just proved himself totally irresponsible.” She said and I nodded.

“I would resume back to the institute Tomorrow. Reschedule a meeting with our clients. I will take as many as possible tomorrow.” I said and she nodded.

“Good for you. I prefer the working Jace to the one that sits in the house nursing a lady. See you tomorrow.” She said smiling and she headed out of the house.

I looked up the stairs checking to see if Elena wasn’t eavesdropping. Cos that would be another disaster on it’s own.

I woke up at the bright side of the day, remembering how the date with Elena went. I got off the bed and walked to my mirror.

I stared at myself touching my lips and grinning at the same time. I couldn’t stop thinking about that kiss.

The sad part is that, she sees it as nothing. She doesn’t even like me and I am here obsessed over her kiss.

I sighed and headed back to the bed laying down.

“Maybe if she lives with me for these 15 days I would be able to win her to myself.” I thought staring at the ceiling.

I heard the door bell ring and I wondered who it might be. It is a Saturday and I don’t usually expect visitors.

“Or can it be Elena?” I thought jumping out of bed, then I remembered she doesn’t even have my address. I sighed and walked to the living room, to the door.

I opened up and to my amusement, I saw Lydia at the door smiling widely.

“Hey.” She said happily.

“Hey.” I said in confusion, trying to figure out why she was at my door step very early on a Saturday morning.

“Can I come in?” She asked and I nodded quickly.

“Yeah sorry. My bad.” I said opening the door for her and she walked in, with her Bangles and heels making a hell of noise.

“I am surprised to see you. Hope everything is okay?” I asked approaching her after I locked the door. 

“Everything is okay with me. I just don’t know about you.” She said and we stood in front of each other.

“I don’t understand.” I said narrowing my gaze.

“You flared up yesterday, you were angry and you yelled at me. I had never seen you that angry, so I got worried.” She said and I sighed rubbing my face.

“Yes about that, I am so sorry. I wasn’t in my right senses and you wouldn’t stop teasing me. I am sorry you had to see that.” I said sitting on the couch and she sat next to me too.

“You know you can talk to me right?” She asked placing her hand on mine and I smiled looking at it.

“I am fine Lydia, trust me.” I said and she nodded smiling.

“Okay. Now I am sure you are alright, don’t you think we should do something fun? I mean, you don’t need to sit at home every Saturday. We could go out, have some fun, get our minds off our problems.” She said and I was about replying when my phone began to ring.

“Excuse me.” I said walking to my room to grab my phone. I checked the caller and it was an unknown number.

I picked it up and waited for the person to talk.

📲Hey Jace. Good morning.

📲Elena *Happily*

📲Hi. I saw the number you put in my bag,I guessed it was yours so I called it.

📲I am sorry for not telling you right away. I realized it was the office number you had so I….

📲It’s fine Jace. I called you for another reason.

📲And that is? *Eagerly*

📲I need your address. I am coming to your house now.

*Jumps for joy*

📲Really? Oh right. I will text it to you now *happily*

📲Okay. I need to finish up packing my stuffs. See you later.

She hung up and I smiled happily, I knew she would do anything for the institute, and that’s the only way to bring her closer.

I walked out of the room and headed to the living room to see Lydia still sitting. For some minutes I thought she was gone.

“Hey.” She said as she raised up her head to look at me.

“Sorry for leaving that way. Urgent call.” I said sitting on the couch. 

“Really? Okay. So what’s up about my offer?” She asked and I sighed looking at her.

“Actually, I won’t be able to go out with you Lydia.” She said and her face turned sad.

“Are you pushing me away again? I told you I am Sorry. Did I offend you again?” She asked sadly and I reached for her hand.

“No Lydia, no. The thing is, I am having a visitor.” I said and she looked at me.

“Then it’s okay. I will be here, I won’t go anywhere.” She said and I sighed.

“The visitor isn’t someone you can stay here with. You hate each other.” I said and she smiled.

“What are you talking about?” She asked and I kept mute looking at her and then all of a sudden her eyes widened.

“Elena?” She asked and I nodded.

“What is she doing here? Why is she visiting you?” She asked in rush.

“She is coming to see me. And she may be staying for some weeks.” I said dropping the bomb

“What? For some weeks? Why? Why would she stay here for weeks? Is her house burnt?” She asked angrily and I sighed.

“Nothing is wrong with her nor the house. I just need her here to help her improve on her voice.” I said.

“You want her in your house, just to be her coach? And you expect me to believe that?” She asked standing up.

“Lydia the last thing I need is any distractions from her. I need to make sure she does everything I ask her to.” I said and she looked at me.

“What of your work? Won’t you be going to work? You are talking about distractions and you forgot all about the company.” She said and I shook my head.

“I didn’t actually forget. I am going to take a leave at the company.” I said and her mouth dropped open.

“Just to be her voice coach? This is too extreme! What are you getting back from her?” She asked.

“What do you mean? That I can’t help her poor lady in need?” I asked and she shook her head.

“Not that Jace. You can’t do all this for nothing. Leaving your work is one thing you have never done, for anything. There is something you are not telling me.” She said and I sighed.

I was about talking, a knock came on the door and I looked at Lydia who was still boiling in anger.

“Go get the door. You still have some questions to answer, and I will be right here to ask in front of her.” She said and I stood up.

“Wake up sleepy head.” Mother said throwing a pillow at me as I laid.

“Mom.” I called in frustration.

“What? It’s 10am. You should be on your way to finding a good job now you lost the Audition.” She said and I sat up sadly.

“Mom you didn’t need to remind me. I know I am a failure.” I said and she sat next to me holding my hand.

“You are not a failure Elena. Things happen for a reason. You can still have another chance at getting into the institute. Even though it’s in the next three years.” She said and I looked at her remembering the card Jace the judge gave me.

“What if I can still have a chance now, not after three years.” I said standing up in haste.

“I don’t understand.” She said but I ignored her and rushed into the bathroom to take my bath.

“What do you plan on doing? Where are you even going?” She asked from inside the room and iturned on that shower so I wouldn’t hear her.

If i told her Jace offered to help, she would never agree to it. She would say it’s cheating and not straight forward.

But I need to get into this institute more than anyone else.

“What if he asks for sex?” My head asked and I shook my head in haste.

“Ew what kind of thinking is that? Jace looks like a gentle man. Why would he ask me for sex? I am sure he has lots of ladies for that.” I said to myself.

“What if he asks for your soul. Like you trade your soul for the institute.” My head spoke again and I shot it out in anger.

“Enough! He isn’t like that. He just wants to help, after seeing how desperate I am to get in. Any nice person would understand this.” I said turning off the shower and walking out of the bathroom tieing my towel.

I got to the room and I saw Alec on the bed and I was startled.

“What the hell? What are you doing in my room?” I asked holding my towel firmly against my body.

“Mom said I should ask you what you plan on doing today.” He said grinning.

“She wants to know that, and then she sends you? Did she think I would tell you anything?” I asked in anger.

“Of course not. She just wants to punish me because she knows how much I hate your room.” He said.

“Get out.” I said.

“Louder! She needs to know you chased me out yourself.” He said smriking.

“Get out!!” I yelled louder.

“That’s better.” He said walking out of the room and Iu breathed out through my mouth trying to calm myself down.

I walked to my closet and picked out a red and white gown. 

“This would do.” I thought picking out the gown. I wore it in haste and combed my hair before packing it into a pony tail.

I picked my black shoe and wore it. It was a very beautiful shoe. I reached for my bag and stormed out of the room. 

I headed to the living room and I saw mother was busy in the kitchen.

“Hey.” father said coming from behind me.

“Father. Good morning.” I said smiling.

“I see you are prepared to go out. Where are you going?” He asked and I sighed thinking of what to say. I can’t let them know any of my plans at all.

“I am out to search for a job.” I said and he furrowed how brows.

“Search for a Job? When did you plan on telling us?” Mom asked from inside the kitchen.

“Mom it’s no big deal. I am 23, I can make decisions for myself. And don’t worry about me, I will be fine.” I said and they nodded.

“Come home as soon as you can.” She said and I nodded.

“Thank you Mom. And I will be careful.” I said heading out of the house.

“I can’t wait to know what you are hiring from them.” Alec said all of a sudden startling me.

“Alec can’t you just leave me alone for a minute? Must you be everywhere?” I asked angrily.

“I actually wish I wasn’t too. But it happens the same parents gave birth to us, so I am stuck you. And I am planning to make that time enjoyable for myself.” He said and smriked.

I walked away in anger and hit the road. I stood a little far away from the house to get a taxi. I brought out the card from my bag and looked at it one more time, before I began to beat my hand with it.

“Just ten participants were admitted?” I asked in shocked staring at the statistics Lydia gave me.

“Yes. Almost all of them had this corky voice, it’s so annoying. It was like a waste of time.” She said.

“I thought the institute was to teach people how to control and improve their singing abilities. Why pushing the average ones away?” I asked sitting at my desk as she made herself comfortable on the sofa.

“These are the average ones. Can you call Elena Valentine average? That girl was the worst of all the voices I have heard in my life.” She said laughing.

“Lydia that is too unfair. She may not know how to sing, but trust me, she wants to. And that will shape her voice.” I said and she nodded.

“I agree but it won’t be in the institute. Because she is coming nowhere that institute. We need good ones, because the institute now is our source of income. We can’t let anything or anyone ruin that.” She said and the office telephone because to ring.

☎️Someone is here to see you sir. She calls her name Elena Valentine, and you asked her to meet you. 

☎️Yes. Let her in. 

I hung up and Lydia looked at me.

“We are having a third party?” She asked and I sighed. The door opened and Elena Valentine walked in looking damn sexy. She wore this red and white gown which had openings at the sides.

Those curves would definitely always drive someone crazy.

“Elena Valentine? The one with the corky voice?” Lydia asked in mockery.

“Lydia can you give us some time Please?” I asked and she nodded.

“Sure.” She said standing up. She grabbed her bag and walked up to her.

“No matter what happens, you are never getting into that institute.” She said and walked out. Elena looked at me and I gave her an assuring smile.

“I am sorry about that.” I said and she walked closer to my desk.

“Must she always act like that?” She asked as I pointed to the seat.

“Thank you.” She said and sat down.

“Let’s ignore Lydia and talk business. I said I could help you into the institute.” I said looking at her beautiful face.

“And that’s why I am here. Why do you want to help me? I am not qualified in any way.” She said and I nodded.

“I know, but we can help each other.” I said smiling.

“How?” She asked.

“I help you get Into the institute, and then you act like my fiancee for fifteen days.” I said and her eyes widened.

“What?” She asked in shock.
