  ALEXANDER POV

  With anger in me, I walked to open the door to see the person who ruined the most important moment of my life, but I was shocked to see my mom and my grandfather in front of my doorstep including Nora, I could see the worried look on their faces. Quickly I was caught off guard by a hug from my mom and then Nora followed, after a while, they pulled away from me and they went inside as I locked the door.

   “What happened?”. My grandfather asked.

   ” I don’t understand, what are you guys doing here?”. I asked confusedly.

    “We saw what happened”. My mom said as she showed me a video of me with Aurora at the scene.” What were you thinking son, don’t you know that was dangerous.”. She quarrels.

   “But Mom nothing happened, we should be happy that no one died”. I replied.

   ” What if the bomb had exploded what would have become of you”. Nora said and I sighed tiredly at them.

   “Son, how is the young lady, is she okay?”. My grandfather asked politely and I could see the angry look my mom was giving him.

    ” What are you saying Dad, aren’t you supposed to be scolding rather than asking about the girl”. She said.

   “But he did nothing wrong, why should I scold him, we should be proud of him because he is a hero”. He said and my mom frowned.

   ” She is fine grandfather”. I replied.

    “That’s a relief”. he smiled.

   ” Please, stay away from that girl before she puts your life at risk, you are my only son”. She said.

   “Mom, am fine, nothing happened”. I said getting pissed off, then Nora walk up to me and sat down at the edge of the chair as she encircled her arms around my neck sobbing quietly.

   ” I was scared to death, I thought I would never see you again”. She sniffs and I take her arms off my neck.

    “Am fine”.

   ” She was worried about you”. My mother said and I rolled my eyes. “So, have you had anything to eat, we will prepare something for you”.

    ” No Mom, am fine”.

    “Don’t say that, Nora, and I will make something for you”. She stood up and left with Nora to the kitchen before I could say anything.” Son, you made an order before?”. She asked and I quickly rushed to the kitchen.

    “Um, yeah, I was planning on eating them later”. I place the food inside the refrigerator.

   ” Okay”. She said 

    “Um, Alex, can I go to your room I need to change into something else”. Nora said 

   ” You–“I got interrupted by my mother.

   “Of course, why are you taking permission from him, this is your house too”. 

   ” Okay”. She left before I could stop her.

   “Mom”.

    “What? Get used to her as your fiancee”. she said and continued what she was doing.

 I sighed as I became uncomfortable, I didn’t want them to know that Aurora was here. quickly I rushed to stop Nora from entering my room, I got there too late, but I was surprised not to see Aurora in the room.

    ” Um, do you find anything”. I asked while searching around the room thinking where Aurora could be.

   “No, I was about to”. She walked to my wardrobe and was about to open it, I rushed to stop her and I could see the confusing look on her face.” Is everything okay?”.

   “Yeah, I want to help you out”. I smiled nervously as I opened the wardrobe quietly to see if Aurora was hiding there, but unfortunately, she wasn’t, I sighed in relief and brought out one of the T-shirts and sweater pants and gave them to her.” Here, have this”. 

    “Thank you, Alex, you are so sweet”. She smiled.” I will make a change in the bathroom”. 

    “Bathroom”. I said to myself and I quickly wondered if maybe Aurora was hiding there. I rushed to stop her quickly.” hold on a sec. Let me see if I flushed the toilet well because I made use of it a while ago”.

   

  “Okay”. She smiles.

   ” Sure, one moment”. I left to the bathroom and searched every corner she wasn’t there. “Where could she be”. I wondered and then came out.” You can go in”. I said and she went inside and started searching every corner of the room for her, but I couldn’t find her, I wondered if she had gone outside the balcony because it was cold outside. I was about to take a step to the balcony when Nora interrupted me from behind.

   “Am done”. She said and I turned to her.” How do I look?”. 

   “Er, great, my clothes fit you better”.

    ” Thank you, so, shall we?”.

    “Um, sure”. We left the room.

   AURORA POV

   All my years of being with Charles I have never felt like this for him before with the way my heart beat so fast for Alex, his touches and kisses are unexplainable, with the way he moved his mouth to mine and kissed me. sending his heated breaths directly into my mouth. The initial touch was soft and slow, and then he kissed me harder, his lips moving against mine with restrained intensity. He slid his hand from my hip down to my thigh that was when we got interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell, I had to make him stop in other to go and answer the door.

    When he left I felt excited as I covered my body under the blanket memorizing the kiss, I had never been this happy in my life before and I wanted more of it. Just then I heard his mother’s voice from downstairs and that of his grandfather and Nora as well, my heart flinched.

  ” Oh no, they are here, I don’t want them to see me here”. I was thinking of what to do when I heard the sound of a lady’s heels approaching my direction.”Oh no “. I stood up from the bed quickly and I was looking for a place to hide, I tried the wardrobe it was too revealing and I might get caught, I rushed to the bathroom I was uncomfortable with it and then my mind moved to the balcony, it was cold outside, but I had no choice but to hide there is the only safest place to hide. I squeezed myself under the cold and my stomach began to growled as I could hear their conversation. I squat near the chair holding my stomach from growling. After a while I heard the door lock I knew they left already, so quickly I rushed back into the room shivering, I sat on the bed and used the blanket to wrap around my body.

   NARRATOR POV

   An hour later, Alexander and his family were having their meal and his thought was on Aurora.

    ” Son, do you like the food?”.His mother asked jolting him out of his thoughts.

    “Um, yes Mom, is nice”. He replied.

     ” Good, so eat more”.

    “I will”. He said and was eating sluggishly.

    ” Son, I was hoping Nora could spend a night here”. She said and Alexander choked on his food and he quickly sipped from his water.

    “Are you okay?”. Nora asked.

    ” Yes, am fine”. he takes another gulp of his water.

    “Nora, would you like to spend a night here?”. She asked.

    ” Um –” she got interrupted.

    “I don’t think so mom, I will be going out later to Richard’s place and I might pass the night there”. He said.

    ” Oh, really?”.

    “Yes, Mom”.

    ” Okay, maybe next time”. She said and they continued eating.

    Some minutes later, they were done eating and Nora cleared the dishes as they were ready to go.

   “Hmm, Alex, can I wear your shirt home, I think I look more comfortable in this than my wear”. Nora said.

    ” Sure, you can have it “.

    ” Thank you”. She smiled and hugged him quickly, his mother smiled after them and then she pulled away from him.

    “I will see you soon son”. his grandfather said.

    ” Okay grandfather”. He saw them off to their car, they entered and drove off as he waved at them. Soon, he rushed inside and locked the door behind him as he rushed back to his room. “Aurora”. he called and Aurora came out from the balcony.

    ” Alex”. she called and he turned to her as he rushed to pull her into his arms caressing her body.

    “Am sorry I kept you waiting for so long”.

    ” Is okay, I understand”. She said and they pulled away from each other still in each other arms. just then their lips crushed on each other softly. “Alex”. she called between kisses.

    ” Mm”. He replied.

    “Am famished”. She said and broke out from the kiss as her stomach growled.

    ” Oh, am sorry, I will fix you something to eat immediately”. he said and rushed out. Aurora smiled after him and sat down on the bed.

   Some minutes later, both were in the dining eating and Alexander was staring lovingly at her and she became nervous.

    “You are not eating?”. She asked seeing him not eating.

   ” Nah, the food is all yours”. he said.

   “But I can’t finish them all alone?”.

   ” Don’t worry, you need the food more than I do”. 

   “Okay”. She blushed and continued eating.

   ” So, what now?”. he asked and Aurora stared confusedly at him.

   “I don’t get you.”

   “What I mean is that, will report back to my company”.

  “Um”. She sputtered.

   ” I need you back Aurora, please come back”.

   “I will think about it, sir”.

    ” Sir? What happened to the name you have been calling me”.

   “Um”

   “I like it when you call me ‘Alex’ “.

    ” Okay, I will think about it”. She blushed.

    “I will give you enough time to think about it”

   They smiled at each other and she continued eating.

  The next day, Aurora went back home and her grandmother was overwhelmed by joy to see her, they hugged and cried in each other arms for a while before they sat down and Aurora started telling her everything.

   ALEXANDER POV

   I drove Aurora home after rescuing her from those guys, she was fast asleep in the car and I had to carry her inside, her grandmother was surprised to see me carrying her granddaughter and she directed me to her room where I lay her down gently on the bed, take off her shoes and cover her with the blanket.

    “Thank you for bringing her home”. She said smiling.

    ” You are welcome ma”. I replied politely.

    “I know you before, you once paid for my hospital bill and even hired my granddaughter to work for you, I guess you are also her boss in the new company she got a job”.

    ” Yes”.

  “Oh, you are so kind, thank you for helping my granddaughter”.

    ” Sure, please give her some green tea when she wakes up tomorrow morning and tells her to resume office by nine”. I said and she nodded.”Good night”.

     “Good night”. 

  We bide each other good night and left for my car and drove off.

   The next morning, I called Judith to my office, and I gave her a deadly look and she was smiling nervously and fidgeting with her fingers, I wondered why she was smiling like that.

     ” Are you this mean and evil?”. I asked furiously and I could see the surprised look on her face.

    “What did you say, sir?”.

    ” You heard me loud and clear, I know what you tried to do to Aurora last night, you drug her and paid some guys to have a sex tape with Aurora”. I said angry and she was shocked.”How could you!”.

    “That’s a lie, I didn’t do that”. She said trying to defend herself and I rolled my eyes at her. ” Please believe me”. She said faking tears.

    “Will you shut up! I caught you red-handed and you are still lying to my face”. I stood up in anger and she fell on her knees quickly.

    ” Please sir, am sorry, I didn’t mean to do it”.

    “Well, is too late, I won’t conduct such an act in my company, you are barely a day here and you are already creating problems, you know what, I want you to pack your things and leave this premises because you are fired!”. 

    ” Please forgive me, am sorry”. She sobs.

    “Too late, you are lucky I didn’t call the cops on you, now leave here before I do something drastic!”. I yelled and rushed out still trying to ask for forgiveness. ” Nonsense!”. I sat down and sighed tiredly.

   An hour passed, and I kept staring out to Aurora’s office, it was already Time for her to check in, and I wondered if her grandmother told her the time she should resume. I kept looking at her office when I saw her walk in with her bag looking droopy, I wondered why she looked like that, I stared back at the tea I made for her on my desk, and then I picked up the telephone and called her to my office. She stood up and arranged her face before entering my office.

    “Good Morning sir”. She greeted me cheerfully and I still notice how droopy she looked but she was trying to hide it with her smile.

    ” Sit”. I said and she sat down on the sofa. I stood up with the teacup moved to where she was and handed it over to her.”Drink this” She looked at me for a while and took the teacup from me, I sat down as I watched her drink from the tea.”Finish it”. I ordered and she drank all and placed the cup on the table.

     “Thank you, sir,” she said 

     “You are welcome, it will relax your mind”.

     ” Okay sir, anyway thank you very much, my grandmother told me you were the one that brought me home”.

     “Is nothing”. I smiled and then my eyes caught sight of Richard walking to my office but he stopped to look at Aurora’s office and I knew he was wondering if I had gotten a new Secretary, then he entered my office.

     ” Bro, you finally got yourself a se….”. he held his words as his eyes met Aurora and I could see the surprised look on his face.

     “You were saying something, has the cat got your tongue?”. I asked.

     ” Good Morning Mr. Richard”. She greeted politely as she stood up to leave and Richard waved his hand at her still in surprise.”I will excuse you two”. She left for her office and we stared after her.

    “Tell me I am dreaming”. Richard said as he sat down looking at me.

     ” She is my new Secretary”. I said.

    “What? Your new Secretary? How? Did you bring her here to be your Secretary?”. He asked and I sighed tiredly at him.”Talk to me, Man!”.

     “I didn’t bring her here, she came on her own to apply for a job and she got it”.

     ” Wow, that’s good, your wish of seeing her and having her by your side has finally come to pass”. He grins at me.

     “How do you mean?” I asked confusedly.

     “You know what I mean Alex, stop trying to pretend, you and I know you like that girl”. 

     ” Richard stop, you know I am engaged,” I said and he scoffed.

     “Yeah right! If only they know how the engagement comes about, you can’t deny what you feel when you are close to her, and you changed totally because of her”. He said and I sighed not knowing the words to say to him.

     AURORA POV

    Some hours later, I was having my lunch in the canteen with the rest staff when kessy came to my seat and sat down with her food.

      ” Have you heard?”. She asked.

      “Heard what?”.

     ” Judith got fired this morning by the boss”. She said and I was surprised.

      “What? Why?”.

     ” Nobody knows, we saw her crying and packing up her things, we tried asking her what the problem was, and she said she was fired by the boss when we asked what she did wrong, she said nothing and walked away”. She explained and I was still surprised.

     “That’s strange”. I sighed staring in one direction still thinking about what kessy told me.

   After lunch I left for his office with some files, he was so occupied with work.

     ” Are you done with the files?” He asked raising his face to me.

  

     “Yes sir”. I place the files on the table in front of him.

    ” Ok, I will make a cross-check on it later”. he said and continued what he was doing.

    “Okay, sir”. I turned to leave, but I hesitated for a while thinking if I should ask him why he fired Judith.

     ” Is there anything else”. he interrupted me. I guess he noticed my hesitation and I turned to him.

     “Um, no sir.. I mean yes sir”. I sputtered.

    He sighs and rests his hands on the table staring at me.

    ” Is there something you want to say to me?”. he asked.

     “Yes sir”.

     ” What is it?”.

    “Um, I got the news earlier today that you got Judith fired and–” I got interrupted.

    “Yes I fired her, in case you are wondering what she did, I caught her doing something evil against someone, so, I have to fire her”. he said.

     ” Okay, sir”. I turned to leave, and he called back.

    “Aurora”. he called and I turned to him.

      ” Yes, sir?”.

    ” Be careful, don’t take things from people you aren’t comfortable with, okay?”.

     “Yes sir, thank you”. I gave a slight bow and left for my office.

    NARRATOR POV

  Later in the day, Alexander drove home, he was looking exhausted and he walked inside to see Nora arranging the dining table with food.

    ” You are back”. Nora said as she moved to hug him, but Alexander pushed back.

    “Why are you here?”. he asked coldly.

    ” What is the meaning of that? I am your fiancee and I have the right to be here”. She replied.

    “How many times will I inform you to let me know before coming”.

    ” Am sorry, I wanted to surprise you”. She said smiling.

    “Well, I hate surprises”. he said.

    ” Ok fine, I won’t do it again, so, go freshen up and come down for dinner, I made your favorite”.

    “Am not hungry”. He turned to leave.

    ” What is wrong with you, Alexander? Why are you treating me this way? I am your fiancee for crying out loud”. She said sadly. 

     “You are not my fiancee, I only agree to be with you because of my mother’s health, so, don’t try to take it seriously”.

    ” You are hurting me, Alex, please give us a chance, I love you, it has been a month and you still ignore me “.

    “I am not having this conversation with you anymore”. He climbed the staircase and Nora’s words stopped him.

   ” Is it because of her? I know you are still thinking about that Aurora of a girl “. She voices out, Alexander ignores her and walks to his room. Nora sighed angrily.” This is all your fault, Aurora, you have completely bewitched him, I promise you won’t get away with this”. She said angrily and walked away.

      ~~Aurora’s Apartment~~

    Aurora was in her room working with her laptop and a glass of milk was beside her on the bed, just then her cell phone rang and she picked it up without looking at the caller ID.

    📞”Hello?”. She said on the phone and Alexander’s voice came through the other end.

     📞” Did I wake you up?”. He asked.

     📞”No sir, am sorry I didn’t know it was you”.

      📞” No, is okay, but why are you still up by this time?”.

    📞 “Am trying to finish the project for tomorrow’s meeting”. She replied.

   📞” Well, you can finish it after we return from a two days trip to Paris,” he said and Aurora was surprised.

   📞 “Two days trip to Paris?”.

   📞” Yes, I got a call from one of the investors, he is launching his wine, so, I got an invitation, and you are coming with me”

    📞”Ok, sir”.

   📞” Get your stuff ready, I will pick you up by seven”.

   📞”Alright, sir”.

     📞” Good night Aurora”.

     📞”Good night sir”. She hung up the phone and then turned off the laptop and went to bed.

 AURORA POV

    It’s been a month since I left his house and I can’t stop thinking about him and the kiss, the more I think about it the more I feel butterflies in my stomach and I want more of it but what can I do he is engaged to be married to Nora, I thought it was rumored when I first heard it from my neighbor, not until when I heard the news on Tv stations and social media, I can’t lie, they look good together and I think I need to stay in my boundaries. I started searching for online real jobs where I could get real money, I had all my certificates with me, am a second-class graduate of business management and I needed to find office work, I started searching all around including the newspaper and I have submitted my CV in different companies waiting for their reply and I hope a miracle happens soon.

   “Aurora”. My grandmother called.” Lunch is served”. She said.

   ” Coming Granny”. I rushed down from my room to see the table was already set for lunch.”Granny, I have told you before to always allow me to do the cooking in this house”.

    “I know, but I want to stress my muscles a little, you know since Erica left you have been the one doing all the work, so I decided to prepare lunch today”. She said.

  I smiled.” Granny, you will never seem to amaze me”.

   “I know right, so let’s eat”. she said and we started eating, just then my phone rang and I saw it was a strange number.

  📞 ” Hello”.I said as I picked up the call, I paused as the person from the other side talked.”Yes, this is Aurora Smith, how can I help you?” I asked and I stood up quickly lightening up my face.” Really? I have an interview with your company tomorrow.” I said excitedly. “OK sir, I will be there first thing tomorrow morning, have a nice day sir”. I hung up and started swinging my body in excitement.

   ” You got a job?”.

  “I guess so Grandma, one of the companies I submitted my CV to, said I should come for an interview tomorrow, which means I am going to have a job soon”. I said happily.

   ” Wow! Congratulations dear, what company is that?”.

   “He said Alex Technology Corp, they are into production of computers, mobile devices, and home appliances, am so happy, this is an opportunity for me “.

    ” I wish you well tomorrow, all the best”.

    “Thank you, Granny”. I said and we resumed our meal. I was still tapping my legs on the floor excitedly because I couldn’t wait for tomorrow to come.

   The next morning, I was up early as I did the chores in the house and prepared my grandmother’s favorite breakfast, after that, I rushed to get dressed for the interview, I wanted to look my best, so I wore a black plaid Ankle pantsuit with a red heel that matches with my red Satchel bag, and I made my hair sleek ponytail, I stare at myself in the mirror and I was reading to go, I had no makeup on my face, I prefer being natural and heavens have blessed with natural beauty. I came out of my room and I saw my grandmother coming out from her room.

    ” Good Morning Granny”. I greeted her cheerfully and she smiled at me.

    “Good Morning dear, I can see you are ready to go”.

    ” Yes granny, I don’t want to be late, so, I have already prepared your breakfast, all you need to do is to eat, take your drugs, and then rest “.

    ” Sure dear, I wish you success “.

    ” Thank you”. I kissed her cheek and walked away saying goodbye to each other.

   Immediately I stepped out of my apartment, and I could see the pleasant look everyone was giving me, I stopped a taxi and told the driver where I was going and he zoomed off. In less than an hour we arrived at the building, I kept hasting the driver to speed up because I was getting late, so lucky there was no traffic on the way and I arrived there early, I paid off the taxi driver and came down. I gasped for air to see how amazing the skyscrapers were made with glasses, I adjusted my suit and walked inside, I greeted the two security by the entrance and they gave me a bow in response, I walked inside to see how beautiful everywhere, I walk up to the reception area to meet a beautiful lady on a plain blue suit.

    “Good Morning miss”. I greeted her politely and she smiled at me.

    ” Good Morning, how may I help you?”. She asked politely.

    “Am here for an interview”. I replied.

   ” Ok, that way, take the elevator to the fifth floor and you will come across the interview section”.

    “Ok, thank you”.

   ” Sure, break a leg”. she said and I smiled at her and walked away.

 I got to the elevator and pressed the fifth floor, and not too long after I arrived at the place to see three other ladies seated on the chair, with the way they were dressed I knew there are here for what I came for, I greeted them and sat down next to them, but they ignore my greetings but I didn’t bother. not too long after, the First Lady was called into the room, it took almost an hour before she came out and sat back in her seat smiling, I stared at her and I knew the interview was favored to her because she came out smiling, the second lady was called and it went on until it got to my turn, I stood up and went inside the room, it took almost an hour and I answered all their questions and they were happy with the way I respond and with the way they smile at me, I knew I might get the chance of getting the job, after the interview they ask me to wait outside, I obeyed and I came to sit down only to see a bag occupying my seat.

   “Can you please take your bag, I would like to sit down”. I said talking to the next lady, but she ignored me.” Excuse me! am talking to you”. I said but she stared sassy at me and took her bag reluctantly.”Thank you”I said coldly and sat down.

  We waited for an hour until the two guys who interviewed us came out and we stood up quickly.

  👨💼”Well, the interview has come to an end, as we said before, we need only two of you, we need a personal secretary for the CEO of this great accomplishment and also a distributor”.

👨🦱”Yes, only the two of you made a great impression on the interview but your fate will be decided by the boss, but you all did well”.

    “Thank you!”. We replied cheerfully.

👨💼” Good, the two persons who impress us are; Judith Adams”.

    “Yes!”. She screamed excitedly and I noticed it was the lady that placed her bag on my seat.

👨💼” And the next person is Aurora Smith”.

    “Oh my!”. I smiled.” thank you, sir”. I said and turned to the other girls, but the girl beside me gave me a sassy look, the other two were disappointed.

  👨🦱”Alright, you two be here tomorrow so your position can be given to you”.

    “Thank you, sir,” We said and the two girls left sadly.

    ” I hope you got picked as a distributor because you are not fit to become the CEO’s personal Secretary, I will be the one, so, toodles”. She said sassily and coldly as she walked away majestically. I stare after her and I admire her courage, I don’t mind being picked as a distributor, all I want is a job that can pay me monthly.

 

 I left the building and waited along the busy road waiting for a taxi.

   NARRATOR POV

  Not too long after, Alexander drove into the building, his driver opened the door for him, he came down and was about to head inside when he made a stop as he felt someone’s presence and a familiar fragrance.

     “Aurora”. He said and searched around the place to see if he could find her.

   Meanwhile, Aurora has already stopped a taxi, and they zoom off. Alexander stared around for a while and went inside with his staff, the two security bowed to him before he walked inside. 

   Aurora arrived home and fell on the chair tiredly.

     ” How did it go?”Her grandmother interrupted her.

    “Great granny, only two of us were nominated, but our fate is in the boss’s hands”.

    ” How do you mean?”.

    “One of us will be chosen as a secretary to the boss or as a distributor, it depends on the boss’s choice”. She said.

     ” Which one of these two did you wish to have?”.

    “The two vacancies are both good, anyone I have been appointed to, it’s fine by me, at least I got the job”. She said.

    ” And I pray you get the highest one”.

     “Thank you, granny”.

     ” Go in and freshen up, I prepared something delicious”.

     “Really granny? But I told you not to stress yourself”.

    ” I am not complaining, I love working”.

     “Well, I guess I got this attitude of working nonstop from you”.

     ” Yes, just like your mother”. She said and Aurora’s mood changed.”What dear? Why this sudden mood”.

     “Because I don’t like it when you mention her in our discussion”. She said looking angry.

     ” But she is my daughter and your mother too”.

     “She is not my mother Granny, you are the only family I have”.

     ” Aurora”.

    “Granny please, I don’t want to talk about her, she is not my mother and she will never be, since she left us to be with her rich husband, we have been living fine and I am okay with that”. She said and stood up to leave.” Let me go in and freshen up”. She walks away and her grandmother stares after her and sighs sadly.

     “Why did you abandon your child to suffer like this Aria? She needs you more than ever, please come back to us soon”. She sadly and left for the kitchen to dish out the food.

   Richard came back with the files and saw Aurora still seated by the gate side, he moved to her.

    “I found it”. He said smiling and Aurora stood up.

    ” Ok, sir”.

    “but I am curious though, why are you out here in the cold?”

   “Nothing”. She said nervously.

    ” Why do I have this feeling that you are lying to me, tell me why you are out here”. he persuaded and she sighed.

   “She orders the security man not to let me in the house”. She said fidgeting with her hands.

    ” Who?”.

 

   “My boss’s mother”.

     ” What? Why? Did you do anything to offend her?”.

    “No”.

    ” That’s unfair, leaving you out in the cold, Maybe I should go and ask her why she will do that”. he tries to leave, but Aurora stops him.

    “No sir, it’s fine”.

    ” Really? Or maybe I should call Alex right now and inform him how unfair his mother is treating you”. He frowned.

    “No, please, I don’t want any more problems, please don’t tell him”. She said and Richard sighed sadly.

    ” Ok, come into the car, you can spend a night at my place”. he said.

    “Don’t worry sir, I will be fine here”.

   ” And you expect me to believe that? If you don’t come in right now, I will call Alex right away and tell him everything”. he threatened.

    “No, no, you don’t have to, I will go with you”. She rushed to the front seat of the car and sat down, Richard sighed and then entered his car and drove off.

    The next morning, Richard was up early and he made breakfast, Aurora came out in one of the rooms and was dressed to leave, she came to the living room and noticed Richard in the kitchen cooking.

    ” You are awake?”. He said as he came out of the kitchen with a tray of breakfast and served it on the dinner table.

    “Yes sir, good morning”.

    ” Good Morning, hope you slept well?”. he asked cheerfully 

    “Yes I did, and thanks for your help”.

    ” You are always welcome”.

   “Thank you, sir”.

   “Please call me Richard, I will prefer that”. he said and Aurora nodded.”Come have your breakfast, I made it for you”.

    “Really sir….. I mean Richard, you don’t have to”.

    ” I have to, you are my guest, and not only that my best friend’s cook, so you need to be entertained”.

    “Ok”. she moved to the dinner table and started eating.” Hmm, it tastes nice”.

    “Thank you, it’s all yours, let me go in and freshen up, I will be right back”. He left to his room while she continued her breakfast.

  Some minutes later, she was seated in the living room after she finished eating her breakfast and she took the plates to the kitchen and washed them before arranging them to their normal place. She kept staring amazingly around the house, it was well-furnished with an exclusive interior design.

    “Sorry I kept you waiting”. He interrupted her climbing down the staircase and fixing his suit.

    ” No problem sir,” she said as she stood up.

    “Ok, I will drop you off at the house”.

    ” No, you don’t have to, I will find my way back home, you have done enough for me already and I so much appreciate that”.

   “I know, it still doesn’t matter, I can still drop you off”.

    ” No, I will be fine, I don’t want you to be late for work, I can find myself home”. she insisted.

    “Are you sure?”.

    ” Yes, I am”.

    “Ok,” he deep hand in his suit pocket and brought out some money.”You can use this for your t-fare, please don’t say no”.

    “Ok, thank you, sir….sorry, Richard”. She corrected herself as she took the money from him.” Thank you”.

    “You are welcome, see you some other time”. He smiles and walks away while Aurora follows him behind.

   She watched him enter his car and zoom off and then she came out of the building and walked along the street to the bus stop. An hour later, She arrived at Alexander’s mansion and knocked on the gate, the security man came out and was happy to see her.

 👨✈️” Good Morning Ms.Aurora”.

    “Good Morning”. She replied.”can I come in now?”.

 👨✈️” Sure”. He opened the gate and she hesitated to go in.

    “Are you sure?”.

  👨✈️ ” Yes, you don’t have to worry about the boss’s mother, I haven’t seen her this morning I guess she has forgotten, so come on in”. 

    “Ok”. She said and was about to step in when Mrs. Stella interrupted them from behind and they went stunned.

    “And where the hell do you think you are going?”. She asked furiously.

    ” Good Morning ma”. She greeted politely.

    “Save those greetings to yourself, so, this is what you do whenever my son is not around, you go around sleeping in different men’s house and then has the guts to come back to pollute my son’s house”. She said and Aurora was surprised by her statements.

    ” No, Ma, that’s not true”.

    “Will you shut that thing you call a mouth! Listen, you are not stepping your feet in this house until my son comes back from his trip, you this gold digger”. She kissed her teeth and stared hard at the security man” If you let her in, you will kiss your job goodbye, now lock the gate and go back to your room”. She said rudely.

  👨✈️”Yes ma”.he locked the gate and rushed inside.

    “idiot”. she walks away.

  Aurora sighed sadly and rested her body on the gate. 

  ••ALEXANDER’S OFFICE••

   After the meeting with his clients, he came back to his office with Richard and they sat down to discuss.

    ” you think is good to do business with them?”. Alexander asked.

    “Yes, they are reliable and trusted”. Richard replied.

    ” Sure”. They smile.

    “Oh, that reminds me, guess what happened in your house yesterday”. he said and Alexander stared confusedly at him.

    ” What? Is everything okay?”.

    “Not at all, last night when you called me to get some files for you when I arrived I was surprised to see your cook outside the gate in the middle of the cold “.

    ” Aurora? Why?”. He asked curiously.

   “Same question I asked her, but she didn’t want to tell me at first, but when I persuaded her, she told your mother to order the security man not to let into the house”. He said.

    ” What?”.

    “Yes, I felt pain why would your mother do such a thing to an innocent girl, she begged me not to let you know about it, so, I had to bring her to my house so that she could spend the night there and this morning she left”.

    ” What is wrong with my mom? Why is she being cruel to her?”. he wondered and picked up his jacket and his phone.

    “Where are you going?”.

    ” Home! To talk some sense into that woman that calls herself my mother”. 

   “Just talk to her calmly”. Richard said, but Alexander rushed off as he entered his car and asked his driver to take him home.

   ••ALEXANDER MANSION••

  Aurora was still seated outside the gate under the cold, because it was getting to the winter season, then the security man came out with a can of coke and some chips 

 👨✈️” I brought you some chips”. he gave it to her.

   “Thank you, you shouldn’t have”.

  👨✈️” Is the little I can do, you have been out here for over two hours now, so, you need to eat something”.

    “Thank you, I really appreciate this”.

   👨✈️ ” You are welcome”. he smiled and leaned on the gate watching her open the chips.

   Suddenly, they got interrupted by a car horn, they turned in the direction to see it was Alexander’s car. Aurora stood up quickly while the security man rushed inside to open the gate. Alexander came down from the car and Aurora rushed to welcome him with a smile.

    “Welcome sir”. She greeted cheerfully.

    ” What are you doing out here Aurora?”. he asked.

    “Hmm, nothing sir”. she said nervously. Alexander stared at her for a while and ordered her to get into the car, she rushed in with him and the driver drove inside. They came down and went inside.

    ” Mother! Mother!”.he yelled calling out to his mother with anger. Mrs. Stella rushed down from her room with Nora beside her, she was happy to see her son back from his trip.

    “Son, you are back”. She moved to hug him but he stopped her and they were surprised.” What is the problem, son?”.

    “You are my problem mother, what has gotten into you, are you sure you are my mother? or did you get switched with somebody else?”. He asked. Aurora was behind him fidgeting nervously with her hand.

    ” What is going on son, why are you angry?”.

   “I am angry because of your selfish act!”. he sighed and tried to control his anger.” You know what, I have had enough, I think is time to go back home, the doctor said you are fine now and your blood pressure is good now, you have overstayed your welcome enough”.

    “Excuse me! Are you asking me out of your house?”. 

    ” Yes Mother, I can’t tolerate your actions toward Aurora anymore, I was only gone for two days and you had the nerve to let her out of the house in the cold, how could you!”. He yelled.

    “Alex, are you asking your mother out of your house because of this thing beside you”. Nora said and Alexander stared hard at her.

   ” Mind your words, Nora, don’t make me lose my wrath on you!”. he warned and turned to his mother.”You don’t have to worry mother, your driver will be here soon, so, I would advise you to get your things ready”.

    “You dare chase your mother out of your house because of her?”. She said sadly.

    ” Yes, I can’t deal with your attitude anymore, I have tolerated you enough, you know what, let me ask you a question, what did she ever do to you that she deserves this treatment from you?”.

    “I don’t want her here! She has possessed you, you are not the son I gave birth to”. she sobbed.

   ” And you are not the woman I called mother! You have changed, you can’t force me to do what I don’t want “.

   “I am your mother! I am doing the best I can for you”.

   “Mom, stop crying, let’s go and get our things”. Nora said.

  I didn’t get the chance to explain everything to Richard because he left after eating to attend an urgent meeting, I was piling up some work in my office when Richard walked in, I raised my face to him and sighed.

    ” No, I “. I sighed. ” She is only working for a month and then she will go back to her normal life”.

   “Why?”.

   ” Well, it’s a punishment actually, she broke my expensive vessel and she is paying for it by working one month with me”. I explained.

    “Are you serious?”.

    ” Yes”.

    “And her boyfriend allowed it? he allowed his girlfriend to stay with a wealthy and most dangerous bachelor in the city of Los Angeles and also a woman’s choice of a man, tell me, did you pay him off?”.

    ” No, Besides, she and the useless boyfriend of hers are no more”.

    “What? They broke up?”.

    ” Yeah, the guy was so stupid”.

    “Alex, what did you do?”.

     ” Excuse you!”.

    “Do you have anything to do with their break up?”.

     ” Hell no, the guy was to be blamed, his jealousy and….” I got interrupted.

    “Why won’t he be jealous, whose guy on his right sense will allow his girlfriend to work for a wealthy bachelor, without thinking the opposite”.

     ” That wasn’t the reason, he sold her girlfriend to two old men to lay with”. I said and Richard gasped.

    “He did what?!”.

    ” Yeah, the girl found out and that’s what ended their relationship”.

     “How stupid can he be? Did he know what he had lost? Gosh! I wish I could see him and strangle him with my bare hands”. 

    ” Now you see I am not to be blamed”.

     “Yeah, now, does this mean I can shoot my shot with her?”. he asked smiling at me.

    “Yes, you know I have always liked her, now that she is back in the market, I can shoot my shot”.

      AURORA POV

   I was pestering around my room wondering why the sudden care he was giving me, he was never like this with me when I started working here, he is always cold and mean. I kept pondering on it when I heard the doorbell, I rushed out of my room to open the door thinking he was the one, because, for the past few days, he had been coming home early, but my thoughts were wrong as Nora and his mother were standing at the doorstep giving me a disgusting look and Nora was holding her luggage.

    ” Um, good day ma”.I greeted politely. She ignored me and walked inside while I shut the door behind me.

     “Where is my son?” She asked unfriendly.

    “Um, he is not back from the office”. I replied and she walked up to me frowning at me.

     ” And what are you still doing in this house?”. She asked and I raised my face to her confusedly without responding. “Are you deaf?”.

    ” Um, am working here ma”.

    “Well, your service is no longer needed here, I don’t like your kind of person, I can see you are the reason why my son is not giving attention to his woman”. 

    ” Yes Mom, Alex chose her over me, he always cared for her like he was in love with her”. Nora said and I was surprised.

    “Never! My son will never fall for a gold digger like her”. She retorted and I lowered my head to the ground.” Now look at me”. she commanded and I raised my face to her.”Are you sleeping with my son?” 

    “No, no ma, am not, am just his employee, that’s all”. I sputtered.

    ” Shut up!”. She yelled and landed a slap across my face.”You liar!”.

     ” Am not ma”. I said trying to defend myself while holding my face.

     “She is mother, she is lying, she is the reason why Alex is ignoring me”. Nora said angrily.

    ” You don’t have to worry about that, she is leaving this house today, I know her kind of person, who plays innocent and at the end steals from us, now, go in there, pack your things and leave this house immediately”. she yelled.

    “But ma, your…” She interrupted me.

    “I said leave before I called the cops on you”. She retorts and I hurry to my room to start packing my belongings.

   I tried controlling my tears, but it wasn’t working as they fell out of my eyes, I had never been this humiliated before, why would she accuse me of sleeping with her son? I can never do that, I am nobody in the eyes of her son, am just paying my debt to him.

    ” What is taking you so long in there”. Nora voiced out and I came out with my belongings.

    “Now, listen to me, if you ever step foot in this house again, I will make sure you rot in jail, now scram!”. She yelled and I rushed out quickly. “Nonsense”!.

     That was the last word I heard from her before I walked to the gate where the security man who was surprised to see me leaving.

  👨✈️”Are you leaving Ms. Aurora?”.

      “Um…I got interrupted.

     ” Open the gate and let that thing come out!”. She voiced out from the building, the security man obeyed and he opened the gate and I came out while he closed back the gate.

    I could see his pitiful look on me as I stared back at the mansion one more time and walked away rolling my luggage with me with tears in my eyes.

     NARRATOR POV

    Later in the evening, Alexander returned from the office, he went inside and sat down on the couch trying to relax a little.

    “Aurora”. He called but there was no response.” Aurora”. he called and he got interrupted.

    “She is not here son”. his mother said from the kitchen with Nora beside her. Alexander was surprised to see the two of them.

     ” Mom? You are here?”. He asked surprisedly as he stood up.

     “Yes son, I came in some hours ago”. she replied.

      ” why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”.

    “do I need permission from you before coming to your house?”.

    ” But this is my house, I still need to know, by the way, what do you mean by ‘Aurora is not here’, did you send her on an errand?”.

    “Hell no, she is not worth my errand, I fired her”. she blunted.

     ” Excuse you!”.

     “Yes, her service to you is no longer needed in this house”.

     ” Says who, mother?”. He sighed trying to control his anger.”Why did you fire her?”.

     “Because she is not wanted here anymore, Nora is here, she can fill in her space”.

     ” Mom, please, I think this is getting too much, this is my house for heaven’s sake! You have no right to fire my employee without my consent”.He said angrily.

    “I have every right because I am your mother!”. She retort.”who the hell is she that I can not fire her? She is nobody and she is the reason you haven’t been noticing the woman met for you”. 

     ” Stop Mother! stop it! You don’t have any right to decide for me, I am not a kid anymore, I am a full grown man who knows his right and wrong, I employed Aurora, only l alone, is allowed to fired her if I choose to”. He yelled and turned to leave.

     “Where are you going?”.

     ” To bring Aurora back to this house “.He replied.

    ” You won’t dare son”.

     “This my house mom, if you are not cool with it, you can as well leave”. He said and walked away ignoring his mother’s calling.

    ” You see Mother, am sure he is falling for that girl”. Nora said grumbling.

     “That will not happen, not when I am still alive”. She said and sighed before turning to Nora.” You don’t have to worry about anything, I will never allow anyone to come between you and my son, understand?”. she said smiling at her and she nodded smiling back.”Let’s go and finish what we are doing in the kitchen”. She said and they went back to the kitchen.

    Meanwhile, Aurora came back to her grandmother’s house, she was taking a nap in her room when Erica came to inform her that there was someone here to see her, without delay she rushed out of the house thinking it was Alexander who had come to look for her, but to her greatest disappointment it was Charles.

    “Charles? What the heck are you doing here?”. she voiced out angrily.

    ” Please Aurora, please forgive me, I miss us, please, whatever thing you want me to do, I will do it just to have you back”. he said sincerely.

     “Don’t you get it! We are done, there is no us anymore, didn’t I  warn you to stay away from me, please leave me alone”.

    ” I can’t! Please give me another chance, I can’t live without you, please!”. he sob.

    Aurora turned to leave he hugged her from behind pleading seriously and regretting his actions, Aurora struggled to get loose from him.

    “Let me go!”. She yelled as tears crawled out from her eyes, but Charles’s arms were still tight on her.

     ” Please Aurora, give me another chance, I love you, please”. 

     “Get away from her!”. Alexander interrupted them

 There was so much anger in his voice as he rushed to Charles and pushed him hard on the face, he groaned and fell on the floor bleeding from the nose. Aurora was surprised by what he did and Alexander turned to her quickly.

    ” Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”. he asked curiously checking her body if she was hurt in any part.

    “No, I…”. she got interrupted.

   ” Are you sure?”. He caressed her face as wipe off her tears with his thumb.

    Meanwhile, Aurora came back to her grandmother’s house, she was taking a nap in her room when Erica came to inform her that there was someone here to see her, without delay she rushed out of the house thinking it was Alexander who had come to look for her, but to her greatest disappointment it was Charles.

    “Charles? What the heck are you doing here?”. she voiced out angrily.

    ” Please Aurora, please forgive me, I miss us, please, whatever thing you want me to do, I will do it just to have you back”. he said sincerely.

     “Don’t you get it! We are done, there is no us anymore, didn’t I  warn you to stay away from me, please leave me alone”.

    ” I can’t! Please give me another chance, I can’t live without you, please!”. he sob.

    Aurora turned to leave he hugged her from behind pleading seriously and regretting his actions, Aurora struggled to get loose from him.

    “Let me go!”. She yelled as tears crawled out from her eyes, but Charles’s arms were still tight on her.

     ” Please Aurora, give me another chance, I love you, please”. 

     “Get away from her!”. Alexander interrupted them

 There was so much anger in his voice as he rushed to Charles and pushed him hard on the face, he groaned and fell on the floor bleeding from the nose. Aurora was surprised by what he did and Alexander turned to her quickly.

    ” Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”. he asked curiously checking her body if she was hurt in any part.

    “No, I…”. she got interrupted.

   ” Are you sure?”. He caressed her face as wipe off her tears with his thumb.

    “Yes, but what are you doing here?”. She asked staring into his eyes as their eyes interlocked affectionately.

Days later, things were going well between Alexander and Aurora. Aurora was focused on her job and was obedient to Alexander.

     AURORA POV

  I couldn’t stop thinking about everything that happened a few days ago, I was heartbroken and hated Charles for what he did, all this, while we were together, was nothing to him, he told me he loved me, but that was a lie, I can’t believe he will do a thing like that to betray our love. I am trying to get over it and move on, even if it takes time.

   I was busy in the kitchen when I heard a doorbell, I left what I was doing and rushed to open the door, I was amazed to see two gorgeous ladies in front of the door, one was more mature than the other by her left, I guess she is her daughter. The older woman had dark grey hair with bright blue eyes, and her face was round and wrinkled a little, her nose was slightly pointed, and her tiny red lips, I couldn’t help but feel attractive to her, despite her mature body she was still looking attractive and her fragrance fills my nostrils, compared to the other elegant lady beside her. Her eyes are almond-shaped and very dark brown. Her skin is golden-brown with a subtle rosy glow around her cheeks, she is of average height with s+xily pink lips, and she wears a s+xy short gown exposing her smooth lap and bringing out her curved shape. They stare awkwardly at me.

    “Who are you?” The mature lady asked unlikely.

    “Um”. I sputtered and I got interrupted.

     ” Mom?”. Alexander called from the stairs case.

   “Oh, is his mom, no wonder she looks classic”. I thought to myself and they went inside.

    ” Alex my son”. She moved to hug him while the other lady sat down with her legs crossed and she was staring lovingly at my boss.

   I wondered why she was looking at him like that, she suddenly noticed my gaze on her and she stared hard at me, I turned my face away.

    “Mom, what are you doing here?”.

    ” Is that how you welcome your mother whom you haven’t seen for months now”. She feigned a frown, her British accent was captivating. 

    “But I do call, besides am working”. he said.

    ” But I still miss you, I am surprised you are at home, you didn’t go to work?”. She asked firmly as she sat down same with Alexander.

    “Mom is Saturday, I don’t work on Saturday”.

    ” But you are never at home”.

    “I am now, but why are you here?”.

    ” Aren’t you going to offer us something before asking questions?”.

    “Aurora, get them something to drink”. he said.

    ” Ok, sir”. I said and left for the kitchen, I could still hear their conversation.

    “Son, who is she?”.

   ” She works for me”.

   “Oh, I thought as much, I thought she was one of those your mistress”.

   ” Really, Mom?”.

I came back with their drink and served each one of them and turned to leave, but he called me back.

    “Is there anything else you want me to do sir?”.

    ” Yes, prepare something for us to eat”.

    “Right away sir”. I said and left to the kitchen hearing their conversation.

    ” Are you sure she is only working for you and not warming up your bed as well”.She said and I felt angry.

   Why would she think that of me?

    “Mom, please”.

    “OK, anyway I came here for you to meet someone”. She said and she introduced the young lady she came with as her best friend’s daughter. ” Her name is Nora”.

    “Nice meeting you Alexander, have heard so much about you”. Nora said with so much excitement in her voice.

    ” Nice to meet you too”. he replied.

    “Son, let me have a word with you”. She stood up and left with her son.

   I was preparing pasta in the kitchen and cutting some pepper when I noticed someone  walked in.

    ” Do you need something?”. I asked seeing the way she was looking at me.

    “Not really, am just looking around”. Nora said 

     “OK, suit yourself”. I said and continued with what I was doing.

    ” So, tell me” She moved to my side and leaned her back at the cabinet with her arms crossed.”How long have you been working for my man?”. She asked and I was surprised.

     “Your man?” I asked trying to be sure of what I heard correctly.

    “You heard me the first time”.

   ” For days now”. I replied.

    “Oh, I see, are you just his servant or more of his servant to him”. She said sarcastically.

     ” What are you driving at? I am only an employee here”. I replied.

    “Great, I hope it remains like that”. She gave me a disgusting look and walked away.  I stared after her and continued with what I was doing.

     ALEXANDER POV

 I came to the balcony with my mom, wondering what the private discussion was all about.

    ” What’s going on Mom?”. I asked.

    “What do you think of her?”. she asked smiling and I stared confusedly at her.

     ” Think of who?”.

     “Nora of course”.

    ” What about her?”.

    “Don’t play dumb with me son, you and I know where I am driving at”.

    ” Seriously, Mom, I don’t know, you are confusing me”.

     “I want you to start seeing Nora”. She said and turned to her surprisedly.” She is a good and loving girl, you two will make a great couple”. She said smiling.

    “What?”.

    ” Yes son, I brought her here for you to see her, she is a very beautiful girl and I want you for her”.

     “Mom, really?”. I sighed tiredly.

    ” Come on son, do it for me, just give it a try”.

    “Mom, I can’t, I know she is beautiful, but I can’t go out with her, how many times will I tell you I will choose a woman that I want for myself, please Mom understand me”.

   ” I am tired of understanding you, Son”. She snapped. “I want to see you get married and have children, you know I am not getting any younger”.

  I rolled my eyes at her ” Stop all with this your dramatic attitude, Mother! You and I know you are not dying any moment from now, you still have great lives ahead of you”.

    “OK fine, but do this for me, is it a bad thing to become a grandmother? You are my only son and I need you to make me happy by settling down”.

    ” I will Mother, but I haven’t found the right person for that”.

    “What about Nora? She is perfect, go out with her”.

     ” Mom….”

    “Please son”. she interrupted me.” You are going to love her, just give it a try”. She said persuading me and I sighed confusedly.

   Some minutes later, we were seated at the dinner table eating, I could see the flirtatious moves Nora was giving me and the smile on my mother’s face.

    “Hope you are enjoying your food dear?”. She asked talking to Nora who nodded shyly.

     ” Yes, Mom”. She said.

    “You don’t need to be shy, this place is your home now, you can come and visit any time you want”. She said.

   I stared surprisedly at my mom and she gave me an innocent look, I could see the excitement in Nora’s eyes, and I sighed tiredly, just then my eyes caught sight of Aurora rushing down the staircase all dressed up to leave.

     ” Where are you going?”. I asked curiously.

    “To my grandmother’s place, I told you before I would be going today”. She said 

     ” Oh, yeah “.

    ” I will be back before evening”. She bowed and walked away.

    “Son, I am curious why she is working with you”.

    ” Why not mother?”.

    “What if she stole your expensive jewelry and money and then ran away”. Nora said and I gave her a hard look, she noticed my gaze and turned to her food quickly.

   ” She is right son, she is not to be trusted”.

    “Mom, let me live with that, I employ her, so whatever damages occur, let me be blamed for it, no one has the right to judge her”. I said unfriendly.

    ” Come on son, calm down, we were only saying”. She said and I returned to my food.

     NARRATOR POV

   Aurora and her grandmother were having a chat about what Charles did, she couldn’t help but shed tears while explaining to her grandmother.

     “Am sorry dear, but why will he do that to you?”.

    ” I don’t know Granny, Charles has hurt me so badly and I will never forgive him for that”.

    “Is okay dear, don’t cry about it anymore, there is a reason for everything, God has proven to you that he is not the right man for you”.

    ” And he(God) had to prove it this late? Three years and half  Granny,  three years of giving my heart to Charles, he is the only man I have ever been with, where do I start from?”. She sobs.

     “Anywhere, you can still find love again, there are thousands of men out there waiting for you, you can find one for yourself”.

    “I am not going to do that, I will never open my heart to any man again, I will focus on working hard, making a lot of money, and not be dependent on anyone”.

    ” Don’t say that child, what is money without love, Without a spouse?”.

   “I don’t care, Granny, I will live my life the way I want it”. She sniffs.

    ” I believe there is someone out there who will love and cherish you as you have never imagined”. She said smiling at her.

   Late at night, Aurora came home, she was climbing into her room when she got interrupted by Alexander.

    “You are home late, I thought you weren’t coming home?”. He said. Aurora was shocked at his voice and she didn’t know he was seated on the couch in the living room because the place was a little dark, she climbed down and moved towards him.

    ” Um, am sorry sir, I thought if I stayed longer in my grandmother’s place, you would have enough time to entertain your mother and her guest, I didn’t want to inconvenience anybody”. She said.

     “Really? Don’t you know is dangerous at night?”. 

    ” yes sir, besides the traffic was a little bit of delay, am sorry”. She apologized and there was silence between them. “have you had dinner? I will make something for you to eat”. she said breaking the silent mood.

    ” No, am not hungry “. he stood up and walked away.

   Aurora stared after him, wondering if he was angry with her.

    ” I hope he is not angry” she wondered and left for her room
