(Arvin Meet Cal, Smart is rescued!!)

The next morning came too quick fro Cal he was woken up from his sleep by a ring on his phone.
Oh shit he cursed, it was obvious he was not pleased with the call, he looked at the timer on the phone it was 5am.
Gray’s Name displayed on the phone and he picked up.
You have disrupted my sleep what is it?
I never thought you would be staying over, anyways I found something, And something else came up too, it would be wise you get prepared and I come pick you up immediately we have a long day ahead.
Hmm ok I will be ready in 5mins Cal said and the line went dead, he quickly rush to Paul’s room, and wake him up,
I need a Colgate and a toothbrush.
Check… the… locker …close …to your bed, Paul said Clumsily, still very much consume by the slumber of his sweet sleep, until Cal shook him hard and he became fully conscious.
Oh too early man is this what you do?

No Paul I need you to be safe, it’s too dangerous out there, go to school, be with Rita, I will come for you once all this is over he said kissing him on the cheek before going to the bathroom to have a brush.
Few minutes later still very dark at vernica city, a Car pulled up at Paul’s family house and cal look through the window blind to see Gray coming out of the car, it was dark outside, but Cal was able to see him from the reflections of the streetlights.
Hey he said as he met him halfway to the house, he didn’t bother how Gray was able to locate him even without him telling Gray where he was, he knew Gray could track the stimulant and at the same time find him out.
What’s in store? Cal asked as he entered the front seat of the Car.
Hive called, they want us to deliver the chips or they had delivered smarts head by 5:30pm
Hmm that’s tough, have you come up with any plan?
No I am blank.
Gosh I hate it when things like this happens and we can’t profer any solution, how about the girls?
They are fine, Lisa will not ho to school today, it’s not safe especially with Humphrey’s death, she is not in her right state of mind.
There was silence in the car as it cruise the early hours of the morning, the City FM seem to have started their day off while they were still in the car, it blare the country’s national anthem, and Cal sang along, Most of the lyrics of the anthem uphold so much, it talked about a nation that flourish with peace.

Hmm!!! how ironic Gray said, we are in war that anthem is not what you are suppose to be singing now…
I know Gray, but when the anthem was introduced 2054 by Prof Empéror, the country was in peace, and we had grown to this height because we lived in harmony, not until now that these psychopaths have invaded us. The city and the world does not even know what they are up against, they are under a siege that threatens to tear them apart many people in different part’s of the world hears about the serial killer attack in Vernica, only if they knew that they were all connected to this war in one way or the other, but they don’t, so the duty and safety of the whole human race lies in our hand, we can’t let it slip through, Cal said without taking a break.
Hmm well said Boy! We won’t let them tear us apart, we will fight through only that way that the world can be safe.
Then let’s gather every resources we have and fight.
By the time they pulled up at the Oldman’s house which now serve as their base, the bright sun has risen from it nest in the eastern region of the world, it shinned brightly, revealing the through beauty of Veronica City, Cal looked through the window of the house and made a remark.
Oh What a beautiful city he said!
That morning they all gathered to a breakfast prepared by the girls though they were still shaken by the event of the previous day, but they managed to make breakfast, it was a great one, the two girls had become friends, even though Snow once dispised Lisa because she felt Cal was still attracted to her, but not anymore Humphery’s death had drawn the two girls together, Snow had been Lisa’s main comforter.
They planned the day, Gray went to retrieve some items he had call the CIB to deliver, the package was delivered at an off site base From the CIB’s plane, they were Bombs and other gadgets including highly sophisticated Computers and iPads.
I was able to gather some things ,and also a foot print, I will run a test on the soil of the foot prints, it could be of help.
Cal figured a very brilliant idea.
Can you pull the Chips out?
Yes why? Gray asked?
Good pull it out and let’s get it Plaited.
Hmm how do you mean?
We can coat the two chips with a high fire resisting content, and give it to them.
You are not making any sense Lisa said.
Oh wait I think I know where Cal is driving at! Gray said.
You do? Cal asked expectantly, because it was seeming as if he was going crazy with his idea as nobody was understanding him.
Yes I do, it’s a perfect Idea, only if we can get to find out their Location on time!
Then I guess you hurry up Gray Smart’s Life depends on this and somehow the whole world too!
Some hours later Gray was able to secure the Location of Luthen and Drake, by then it was 3:30pm, they had the mission planned out, and had all hope high, that it worked according to plan!
By 4:23pm they had all gotten dressed for the mission.
They called Paul and he showed up by 4:43pm he was part of the plan they had drawn out!
Holyshit! Did we have this place debugged? Cal asked all of a sudden as his instinct redirected him to the thought of their house being bugged.
Hell no Gray said, and he brought out the bug detector at once the two hoped it read negative, while the others watched in confusion especially Paul who was new to the system, only Lisa had a little idea.
Oh thank gracious the two said after the bug detector finished reading, there was no bug so there won’t be a sabotage in their plan.
I think they are very unprofessional for them not to plant a bug here Lisa said while Gray shook his head,
they are not unprofessional, dear I think it’s Just luck, I mean we couldn’t have come up with a new plan in such short time when they have already eavesdrop on our conversations.
What are you guys saying? Paul asked totally confused.
No time for explanation bro, get your head in the game I will explain later.
Paul put on a clone mask that looked like Gray, and they entered he and Cal entered Gray’s Car and drove off to hive mall.
Gray and the girl’s entered Paul’s car and drove to Luthen and Drakes Hideout.
The so much talked about Bio-Stimulant was placed in a portable briefcase.
By 5pm they pulled up at the mall’s parking lot and Paul killed the engine of the car, even when he looked very much like Gray now, anyone that saw him would thinl he was Gray, due to the clone mask he was wearing.
They waited patiently for Luthen and Drake to show up.
10 minutes later they were still waiting, when two men fully masked approached them from the back.
Gray and Cal Nice meeting you.
Luthen and Drake where is Paul?
Cal said and made to charge towards them in rage.
Calm down calm down boy!! Drake said as long as you came along with the chips, he is still very much alive, and you Grayson, you have depreciated in height? How is that? Lol the two evil maskede laugh, while Cal cursed under his breath, he feared that the they should not notice that it was not the real Gray.
Now where is the Chips?
Paul went to the back seat and brought the briefcase just like Cal had instructed him before while they were on their way. Paul has been a good actor all along, he acted calm as if he was the real Gray, and this gave the two masked men no time to notice he wasn’t the real Gray.
Good they said as the collected it from him, he made to drag it with them in order to complete the drama he was acting up, but Cal tapped him to let it go, and he did, while the two men gave a wicked grin that was visible from the way their masked face moved.
Wait for 5mins more, smart will be come here to you, but I wonder what is the use of saving him when the world is going to get burn in no distant time Luthen said.
You are a tough guy Cal, but there is no more saving, it’s over.
Yea it is Cal said smiling and entered the car, Luthen and Drake disappeared from sight, and minutes later, Smart Showed up on the rolled up window looking miserable and weak.
Cal Came out and helped him in.
Are you ok?? He asked as smart settled in the back seat,
How do I look? Smart asked.
You look miserable Cal said!
Does that not tell you I am not Ok?
Oh my bad sorry man!
That sorry would have gone down well with me if you hadn’t foolish traded me for the Chip, now we have loses everything and they are going to end up destroying the whole world, and you Gray why ain’t you saying anything?? Smart asked directing his question to Paul who had been watching the whole drama.
He is not Gray and trust me we’ve got this planned out Smart!! Cal said.
You better do and who the hell is he? And at once Paul pulled out the cloned mask.
Whoa more like it Smart said lighting up a bit in his mood.
So what’s the plan? He asked.
Meet Paul! Smart, Cal said by now they were already pulling out of the parking lot.
Oh So you are the Paul, Nice meeting you I am Smart!
I know that already Smart Nice meeting you too under unpleasant circumstances, Paul said.
Just then the transmitter on Cal’s ear Came live.
In position!!! Gray said to that was a great news For them.
At once Cal initiated The GPS of the Stimulant and from the movement on the GPS tracker, it showed that Luthen and Drake where on a few meters away from their hide out.
Target are 15 minutes away from their point of Elimination, Cal said over to Gray.
Good sign keep an eye on them, Gray said and disconnected the Transmitter.
Gray and the girls had gone to Luthen and Drake’s hideout to fix a C4 bomb, so that once they return from their meeting with Cal, he would activate the bomb and they would be roasted to death, while the stimulant was coated Calcium Silicate, to avoid it from burning, when the bomb is activated.
Few minutes later Gray and they girls watched from the iPad as the two fools entered their hideout, he had placed a micro camera that could cover a large radius inside the room, and once they entered, he activated the bomb and the place erupted with fire, the waited for few more minutes before putting on their fire proof vest and came down from the car, they entered the place where the flaming fire blazed, and they saw the briefcase burnt beyond recognition, but they managed to secure the stimulant that was still looking as fresh as ever.
Goodbye boys!! Gray said as he sprayed bullets on their burnt bodies.
Just as they exited the place the fire service came to do their thing.
Targets burnt beyond recognition and package secured, Gray said Jokingly to Cal, while they all burst into laughter as they catch up with each other in Cal’s Grandpa’s house.

This way he said and I followed, soon we got to a basement, there was a slightly visible touchpad on the wall, dad imputed some figures on it, and and the wall cracked.

Whoa I was amazed as the wall gave way, dad walked in and ushered me in the place was cozy and filled with bright blue lights, I went in to see arrays of computers, with different people on corporate dresses working on them.

We kept on walking and I kept on looking at the different sophisticated computers at the place.

This is Hive Dad said.

What do they do?

Oh hive is an operation, that is attached to the new world I told you about, they own this building and the mall, this is where I work…

What??? You work here? I asked, things were getting somehow, I am confused, dad always said he works at the mall as a sales rep, and now here we are and he is telling me about working in hive.

Whoa!! I said but something looked fishy about them, their attire was exactly the one that the serial killer in town put on, if the media was exactly correct, then from this attire, I can tell that hive must have something to do with the killer.

I kept calm and watched I didn’t say a word about my observations to dad.

We kept on walking till we got to his office.

He treated me to a special breakfast.

But I wasn’t comfortable here, everything looked suspicious, including dad, but I didn’t say a word about it. I tried my best to hide my feelings.

Till we were set to go late in the evening.

We have been keeping an eye on Humphrey and his daughter, ever since they stepped out of their house.

I was yet to figure what my family got to do with Lisa’s mom, we over heard their discussion through the chip that was planted on Humphrey body, the chip was not just a tracker a transmitter was also connected to it and it was also undetectable, the security at hive was not able to detect it even when Humphrey entered his office that morning, so we were able to get most of Humphrey’s conversations and through his day at the office.

Snovas and Smart, please keep an eye on Humphrey and His daughter with the system, I and Cal will go out and nab them Grayson said.

Why don’t you just get rid of the stimulant under your skin, and let’s forget about this whole mission thing Smart asked.

No no, Smart, The stimulant under my skin is not just any stimulant, it is the source of power to the City, once I destroy it, the city will be left in total darkness, plus it’s a special one, it was created by one of the world best scientists, a 10 times upgrade of any stimulant you can find in the word, I lectured, while Smart sighed.

Yea i said and we entered his car and zoomed off.

Some axis away from Hive’s Mall, we parked our car, we initiated the Tracker on the iPad, and soon it came live, Humphrey was Just leaving the office we saw him walk to the park according to the layout of the building on the map, that was all we got before we were knocked out.

Shit I cursed.

He detected the Chip.

Holyshit!!! Gray cursed.

Guys guys calm down Snow said through the bud, I think we ain’t knocked out entirely, what if we are able to hack into the surveillance camera in the building, we might me able to see get a clue of which route he will take.

Ok let’s set to work, gray tried to hack the front view CCTV, but it wasn’t showing forth, all access were denied, I took the iPad from him and tried my tricks, it wasn’t working, so I initiated Uncle Neil’s hack Software, the program ran through, and we gained access.

I got it I said. The radius of the Camera lens was of a wide range, we were able to see the Cadillac moving fast on the road. I caught a glimpse of Lisa, my heart beat fast and dropped, it’s been long I set my eyes on her.

I soon noticed another car tagging Humphrey’s Cadillac, I zoomed the clip, and got to see the car all filled with Hive men, they were Six.

They were actually coming towards our route.

You saw that? I asked Gray.
Yea are you nervous?

No let’s take down these sons of a bitch.

Good he the rifle, and I turned to the back seat, I made do with the Submachine Guns, while Gray armed himself with the Kalashnikov.

Our car was placed on a reversed gear.

This will make shooting easier.
25mins later, the SUV containing the Hive Ghosts, surfaced and the Cadillac was at the back.

They opened fire on us, But Gray’s Car was bullet proof, he puncture a hole through the front windscreen, and put out the nozzle of his gun and started shooting, he aimed at the front tyre of the SUV, and ran bullets on the bonnets, soon it was smoky and I could tell the vehicle was about to explode, the men ran out of the car, and this was our chance, we shot at them while they tried to take cover, few moments later the six men were down, we came down form our car to see Humphrey trying to reverse his car back to where he was coming from, Gray launched a shot on the two back tyres, the car somersaulted and came to a stop, we waited a minute before we rushed to the car, we opened it and found the car empty.

Shit they got away, I said.

(What Stubbornness Cost Me)



Humphrey
After Sheriff told me they’ve got eyes on the boy,I had told him it was fine and asked him to bring me the stimulant.

After a while I had resolve to going to China myself to observe things.

And just in time I had saw them exiting the tunnel Sheriff has directed me I took a clean shot at the boy through the windscreen, even though it did not meet him, I was happy at the result, Neil was out of the picture, I kept on shooting till the dude on the wheel finally maneuver his way.

Now I am back to Vernica, Lisa had shown tremendous improvement on her training, I watched her grow and she grew stronger by the day.

The final phase of the destructive nuclear weapon has been concluded by the 7, they will soon come down to Vernica to join in retrieving the stimulant.

I picked up the phone to receive the caller, it was an hidden ID.
This is Agent Grayson on the line, I am very sure I am speaking with Cal Henry!

Yes Sir, how can I help you sir I said as I recognized who he was, he was a Senior Agent in the China Intelligence Bureau (CIB) Where Uncle Neil worked under the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) department, he was the best man they had.

When I dropped the call, the guys had both stare at me with a quizzical look on their face.

Working under daddy’s tutorage was fascinating, I was getting strong and swift, I felt blood running through my veins, and my muscles contracting under my skin.

Mr Henry did not kill my Mom, he was deceived by someone.

Dad must see this, we have all been blinded for so long, I regretted my actions, and I asked the dead soul of Cal my beloved to Forgive me.

I will surely deal with that son of a bitch I cursed.

After about an hour, I heard a Car pulled up in front of my grand pa’s house, I had stopped what I was doing on the Laptop to check, and through the blinds, I saw the Chinese Man, exiting the car and coming towards the main house.

By now Smart and Snow have made themselves comfortable, they were both watching a show on TV, I was able to gather a few leads from hive.

The expected knock came through the door, and I stepped forward to open it.

It was all over the city that the Henry’s family has been attacked by the serial killers that’s struck town wiping out the whole family including My Beloved Cal.

This had pricked my heart, I have always had my crush on cal and only on a few cases and by chance did I get the opportunity to tell the shy boy how much I loved him even though he was not making any attempt on approaching me.

Now he is gone, but I still had a strong feeling that I will see him one day, especially now that it’s all over the news that his corpse was missing from the crime scene,
I was still brooding over his death, sitting in my road became very uncomfortable, I hadn’t gone to school throughout that day, I was in mourning of my love, as I sat to watch the program on TV, the door squeaked and dad did came in holding a burger park.

I only look up to say Hey, but never got up from where I sat,
Still brooding over your loss? You’d better move on and forget that boy. Dad scoffed with sarcasm that got me really mad.

Stop acting mean dad, I just lost a friend, and you are saying shit about forgetting the boy all because he is rich, what’s your thing with the rich?? I asked in anger

I could tell my daughter was going through pain from the loss of the one she loved, but I had wanted her to see her feelings for the boy as just infatuations, Even when I knew deep down that the love was real.

Days after the Bill was submitted to the government, Henry showed up at Beth’s office, he was mad at her, the figures in the documents had shown compromise, and they were all different from what he had asked her to do, She had done the boss biddings, but someone else had manipulated the documents.

Mr henry had told beth how incompetent and untrustworthy she was, he threatened to sack her.

As I came down, I heard my wife muffling, and there was a struggle she was struggling with something.

Honey are you ok? I called as I rushed down to see what was happening, and in the frightening horror of the night, I say her lying in a pool of her own blood, I rushed over to her to see the assailant running away, I made to chase after him but I heard beth calling after me, I rushed over to her, I saw the gun the assailant must have used lying close to her with a silencers at the nozzle,
Hu-mp-hrey beth called as she struggled to stay alive, she was shot in the chest, I was weeping as I urge her to stay alive for me.

She said as she drew her last breath, I picked up the gun from the ground, shaking it and shoving hard on Beth.

Nooooooo I screamed and just then the police came in, and rounded me up, I was confused as to what to do or what was going on.

‘‘You are under arrest for the murder of Mrs Beth Massey Humphrey!!!’’ I heard loud and clear over my head as the police captain ordered his boys to take me to their awaiting car, I was short of words, the only thing I could say at that moment was .

‘‘I am innocent and I have a daughter’’

I knew I was going to face Jail term, I never knew who was filing the arrest against me, because I was innocent in all ways, but after a week of been remanded in the cell, Henry’s company had showed up to file a case against me, and I was taken to court. On the 27th day of September 3019 I was arraigned before the Vernica City High Court.

After the court session I was convicted for the murder of my wife, of which I was innocent, and I was sentenced to Life Imprisonment.

Lisa was being sent to a foster home that Mr Henry had assigned, while I served my term.
Everytime the sun sets and rises while I was away in prison, I hoped to see my daughter again, but that wasn’t gonna be, never ever, I was sentenced to life imprisonment, the police found a gun in my hand as evidence even when I didn’t do it, I had pleaded not guilty to the Judge my attorney tried his best but he couldn’t win the case, because the rich were involved.

A year later my Jail term was cut short all thanks to providence, it happened when a new mayor was elected, he granted every prisoner in the city immunity and bail without charges, and the opportunity to start up a new life become free again, I have retrieved Lisa for her foster home, and decided to raise her myself just as I have promised beth my lovely wife.

When Roger the leader of the 7 had approached me, I saw this as an opportunity to pay back the world in their own coin of cruelty and injustice.

I knew what Mr Henry had cost me, he cost me my world, Beth was my world, now I am giving the world back for her, even though the whole world perish, as long as it will please Beth, will join hands with the 7 to bring it down.

The 7 leaders of death hive have joined resources together, and they built a whole new world, so that once they destroy the world they will be safe in their new world. I will take Lisa there and we will blossom.

Paul
What more pain than losing a mom, but I had to move on, the funeral was conducted, dad did gave a tributes of how heroic mom was all in sorrow.

Now that the dead has been buried, everyone went to his normal life Cal my friend and Rita stood by me through it all.

There was one thing that did surprise me after mom’s death, her death seem to open door to a rise in the death rate in the city, people were been killed at night.
The whole city shook with fear, and the government installed an impromptu curfew.

My school life was still trying to go back to normal, because the vacuum mom’s occupied in my life was now vacant, nobody to tell me to do my Homework, nobody to tell me if i was wrong with my decisions, no one can ever replace my mom though people do say the words I never knew what it meant, but now i see the meaning in the words. And to worsen issue dad was barely around I was only lucky to have friends like Cal, and my girlfriend Rita.

At school, Rita and Cal seem to be the major Source of my still intact sanity, if not I would have ran mad, thinking about mom.

Aside Rita been one of the hottest chick in school, she was a sweet girl, unlike most girls of her kind, she was always cool around me, she do come over to watch our team play Soccer at the field, I and Cal were members of the same team.

I loved to see her standing by the field, her presence alone, makes me feel so excited that I perform very well.

She will keep on blowing me kisses anytime I did a skill or score a goal, I loved her.

There was a homecoming match between our school team and Brooklyn High School, home coming was a yearly game between various schools in the cities, this year Empire High School, and Brooklyn High School were Fixed for a duel. The Match was Scheduled for 2:30pm that wednesday on a normal day the match would have hold by 4pm, but with the rising rate of killings in the city, the school authorities decided to let us play at noon.

We did set out to the field, we did put in our best, chuks was giving me smooth passes, but the defenders from Brooklyn’s were so good that we couldn’t kick a ball pass them, each time our legs click there is always this sound it makes like were kicking against a hard wall.

As the match was coming to an end, we were 1 goal down at 86mins, there was no hope of us winning, the cheers from our school cheerleaders were waning, once Paul’s hold of the ball, he did pull a stunt that let the ball roll up high into the air, I saw this as a chance, I leapt high into the sky, and did a back flip, my legs caught the ball, and brought it down to the ground with full force, and the next minutes the whole place was agog. The fans celebrated us
We did equalize the goals, and soon the match came to an end after a penalty shoot out that we won.

Now after the match I was all sweaty same as Paul, we both hauled ourselves inside the washroom, and did a little clean up, we entered Paul’s car, he was on the wheel, while I sat at the front seat, watching him maneuver his way.

The road was free, we never thought of the danger lurking, at 4:50pm we were half way through our journey home, when the car CRANKED UP.

Holyshit I said while Paul hit his hands on the steering wheel.
Why now?? he asked rhetorically as we came down from the car to check what was wrong with the car.

The road was clear no vehicle was passing at that time, we tried to fix the car for the next 1hour, but it wasn’t coming up, so we did place a road sign that brought out from the boot of the car to notify other road users of the faulty car, once we were done, we left the left the car, and decided to continue our Journey on foot.

I could see the disappointment on Paul’s face, I made him wave it off.
I have a date with Lisa tomorrow! I said gingerly.

Whoa you don’t mean it, do you?
Sure I do,
Whoa you’ve been fucking up all the while, now you up to it, he said grinning widely.

Yea, but she’s fix the date.

What?? I thought you have grown out of your shy self, common man grow up. He said while I gave him a Jab.

Now are you gonna ask her out tomorrow?

The truth is that have got a crush on Lisa girl right from my freshman years at Empire High School, infact I did had crushes on most girls at high school, but never for once have I spoke to them, concerning my feelings, but I am always free, and friendly with them.

Now towards the end of my second grade, she’s showed up she’s becoming friendlier and friendlier, there was a day where I was seated at the old block window, watching Paul and Rita chatter away from a distance the two seem perfect, just as the warming sun of harmattan, I smiled as I watched her pushed Paul and he fell to the ground, Paul dragged her along, and they both ended up falling on each other, and he brought his lips on her’s and they both kissed.

So cute right? I heard behind me.
I was startled and turned immediately, it was her standing radiantly with her hands akimbo, she seem so pretty as she twisted her lips.

Yea sure, I concurred.

You know Cal, this could be us. She said further, and my head dropped.

You are shy,
Uhmm yea.. No… No… I stuttered,
Don’t worry, I will wait, I like you so much pretty boy, she said pecking me, and walking away, the peck had sent shivers and sparkles of stars down my spine, I did touch the place she had kissed with my hand, and watched sway her bum away.

By now Paul and Rita had come back, paul winked at me, while i did engaged Rita in a conversation after Rita was gone, I had to tell Paul about Lisa, and he had been on my neck to ask her out, but the shy me wouldn’t let me do the needful.

Now she’s asked me out on a date with her tomorrow, Paul’s urging me to do it, we were still walking our way home, by now it was a bit dark, the sun’s shift from it’s place of radiance to the western coast of Vernica,
We kept on walking on the walk way, the road was lonely, vehicle has since stopped passing.

OH!! the curfew I remember at once, I reminded Paul, and we both increase our steps.

We started running at some point, to avoid coming in contact with the psychopath serial killer that has invaded the town.

As we were running, I noticed a silhouette ahead of us, I look up to see a figure it was claded in all black, his movement seem to be slow. And his attentions fixed to the ground.

Stop!!! I called out to Paul who stopped running at once.
What is it Cal? He asked anxiously
Look up I said!

What?? Holyshit he said clutching to me, we silently made to turn back to where we were coming from, but it seem the figure had already noticed us, it turned towards us in one swift motion, and we started running again while he started chasing after us.
We were on the lead, all thanks to the numerous training sessions we had from our football training. But the figure was closing in on us, I kept on looking back and running and this did hindered my running pace, Paul was a few step ahead, he wasn’t looking back like I was doing, soon enough, I tripped and fell to the ground over an object protruding out of the ground.

My body hit the hard floor, and I was stalk to it lying motionless for a while, Paul had noticed this and he came to help me up, by now the figure was already close, I looked at his face, and saw it masked with a skeletal skull mask.

I managed to get up, and started limping, Paul aided me, but I was slowing him down with my weight.

Go go go, go get the police I will be fine, I said to him.

No Cal, we will make it out, try to limp faster he said.

I can’t I yelled go Paul, if I end up dying tonight you’d tell my parents what happened, I said giving him a reassuring look.
And he did run far away.

I kept on running at a slow pace, just as fast as my leg could go, and just a step away, a hand pulled me down with a very strong force.
Let me go!!! Let me go!!!! I scream, but it pulled me up, and carried me back to where he was coming from.

Just in the nick of time he did gave me a Hard punch that knocked me out.

Paul
After Cal fell down I had rush over to help him, but he had asked me to go, I needed no soothsayer to tell me that we were been chased by the serial killer that has strucked town, but why didn’t he shoot us, because according to the records on ground, the serial killer shoots all his victim at the head, so why not us, why did he decided to chase us?

I kept on running, as different thoughts ran through my mind.
I was still deep in thought when something crossed my mind, and that minutes I looked back to see the psycho dragging Cal, and I Immediately pulled my loafers (shoe) and started retracing my steps back.

I was fast in keeping my pace, but did carefully choose my step in order not to attract the killer’s attention, I got to a place, and an object that protruded out of the floor, stopped me, it must be the cause of Cal’s fall, I picked it up at once, it was a plank I was happy, this was my weapon, I continued my chase and soon I sighted a car at the fore, I knew the killer was taking Cal to the car, and I hasten up, just in the nick of time I got closer to the man and as he made to enter the car, I hit him so hard with the stick!!!, the force was great, he fell to the ground, dropping cal along, I did continuously hit him non-stop till he was knocked out of consciousness.

I noticed cal was groaning and I rushed over to him, he had regain consciousness as a result of the fall, I aided him and we hurried us as fast as our legs could carry us.

Mrs Henry
My boy had gone to school that morning, he had notify me on staying over for the homecoming games, and he promised to be home by 5pm,I had advised him on taking the car or let the chauffeur do his work, but he told me that Paul was coming along with his, and that morning Paul did came, and they drove to school, at 5 in the evening I had given him a call, after coming back from the office, but his cell was off, I did call Paul and his too was off, I tried to be calm at first, but now it’s past 7pm they ain’t back already, I was pensive, I had let my husband in on this, and at once he took the car key, and off he went.

I tried to talk him out of going, as he might be defying the curfew rule, but he waved it off saying his kid can’t be out there and he sits at home,
Not quite long I heard the honking of Henry’s car, I was a bit relieved, but not in whole, because I wasn’t sure if they were the one, but soon there was a knock at the door, I did answer, and I saw him limping and aided by Paul my jaw dropped in shock.

Mr Henry
I had took to the road, the moment my wife told me about the situation on ground, I did drove along for a while, when I sighted two figures walking abnormally on the road, so I did dim the head lamp of the car to see clearly in the night, I noticed Paul’s brown hair, and the blonde boy being aided was Cal, I stopped the car at once, I came down and assisted them in, cal couldn’t say a world, Paul had narrated everything that happened to me, Mr heart sank.
Humphrey’s threats were true, I was scared sunken.

Cal
That night I was taken home in dad’s car, I listened quietly as Paul did explain to dad about the road escapade, when we got home mom was shocked beyond words, but she did nursed my little bruises, while dad explained to her exactly what Paul has told him. I noticed an air of uncertainty in dad’s tone, but wave it off
Mom was sad, but she had nursed me well.

Heal quick pretty boy she said placing her palm on my dedicated head.

I heard Paul tuning the TV, he wasn’t going home tonight, he was staying over it’s late already, his dad was away on business.
By the morning the next day I was hale and hearty, I did set out for school, as I bath, mom had come around, she had advised I stay home to be fully fit, but I declined assuring her I was fit.

Paul sat at the back seat with me, we chattered away, like nothing’s happened the previous day, Nicko the driver did join in our conversation, he was a good guy, I loved him so much. We all sang along the stereo as it blares familiar tunes.

At school, students including a few lecturer who had heard about the little drama at night, they filed up to tell how sorry they were, and after that we did settle for the activities of the day.

I still remembered my date with Lisa, after school, I had gone home, it date was fixed to be 3pm when I got home I did a shower, and put on some good clothes and drove off as Nicko took me to Vernican Palace, it was the place she picked.

Lisa
As I prepared for the date, I had put on some nice clothes to match the evening occasions.
I was putting a finishing touch to my facial decoration when dad came him.

Going for a date?

Yes dad, I said as I turned to watch him put his hands inside his pants pocket.

Who is he? He asked
Cal Henry I said!

Hmm Rich boy he replied.

You know him? I asked quizzically
Uhmm! You know Lisa, Do not hang out with rich boys at schools! He said firmly and my spirit dropped at once.

What dad? Why?? I asked searching his eyes for an answer.
You should not he said and walked away,
But I fixed that date. I called after him.
