    ” Thanks doc ” I said smiling widely . I can do anything to see the shy look on Olivia’s face right now.

    ” You welcome and don’t forget to come for check up once in 2weeks “

    ” Yeah than you, let’s go angel ” I said and held her by the waist standing up with her

    ” You heard the doctor right ?” I said smirking while she hit my arm shyly

    ” You don’t have to remind me Ethan “. I grabbed gently brought her closer to me and kissed her cheeks.

    ” Ethan we are in public ” her face reddened as she looked around. Some passerby stared at us while some grimaced with the ladies seducing me with their eyes. They should fuck off cause I’m with whom they can never be like

    ” I don’t care babes , I’m with you not anyone else and this is my hospital. They can stare as much as they want “
    Before she could object, I took her lips into mine.

    Luckily, she kissed me back..
    The only thing we we’re hearing was the clicking of the camera and the paparazzi videoing us ..
    I’m a pop star so I won’t be surprised..

    We broke from the kiss and she hid her face on my shoulder avoiding everyone’s gaze.
    We were crowded and no way out .

    I had to call the guards to make way for us so they are on the way ..

    Aww, my Olivia was already shivering. I totally forgot she’s not used to being in the crowd or a center of attention…

    I held her tight making my way out of the crowd but was stopped by the paparazzi

    I rant trying to calm myself.. before the could ask another question, the guards were here and they began paving way for us ..

    Ah! Thank goodness! I was almost suffocating .

    I opened the car door for Olivia and she sat quietly. I could have let her known about this..  argh!

    ” I’m sorry about that angel, I should have informed you about this earlier ” I said apologetically … I hate seeing her this dull

    ” Uhmm it’s nothing, I understand. I guess I have to get used to it ” she replied simply.
    Yeah, that’s the only option. I know they will corner her more often now ..

    I turned on the car radio and you wouldn’t believe it.
    They were talking about us. How news can spread fast

We got from our trusted source about her name Olivia Daniels and the latest news spreading is about her being pregnant. Some said she looks pregnant with a cute little protruding belly.     The news caster said and I sighed. Don’t they have better things to do than to be intruding in people’s life and making it public ? .  I glanced at Olivia and she wasn’t looking bothered much about it . Thank God!

    I changed it to another station and it was still about us .. geez!

    ” Our news is authentic and we are very certain that miss Olivia Daniels who happened to be the billionaire’s fiancee is pregnant. People tend her to be lucky because everyone wants a man like Mr Ethan ….”
    I hissed and changed it again sighing loudly..

    Almost all the station was Mr Ethan this and that which forced me to off the radio. It’s tiring gosh! How do they get to know her name just now? Goodness!

    ” I didn’t know this was coming Olivia I’m really sorry for the embarrassment ” I apologized

    ” I understand, you don’t have to apologize. It’s not your fault okay ” she replied and smiled at me but I know she’s scared inside of her …

    Isn’t she so unique?
    Some ladies out there will kill to be spotted like this with me but she? She doesn’t like attention….. So innocent. Sometimes I wonder if her type still exists in this world, even if they are, they’d be rare

    ” Thanks babes ”  I said and hugged her … I’m so happy I got her first even if it wasn’t in the best way.  I will still be sorry for doing that to her …

    As bad I can be, I will never take advantage of a lady because I have thorns of them throwing themselves cheaply at me …
    But that very night, I didn’t know what came over me.
    Although I blame everything on the alcohol I took so much .
    And maybe God brought us together that way for a reason. I mean if I never raped her, she will wouldn’t have been sitting next to me .

    He took a plate with knife and onions. Geez! Is it the first step in making cheese? What’s an onion doing there in the first place?

    He groaned and sighed not knowing where to hold and he ended up cutting his hand …

    I burst out laughing while he winced

    ” Of course not or did you want me to prove it?” He asked huskily and I chuckled.
    I wrapped his hand with a tissue to stop the bleeding

    ” But I can do this ” he said and held my waist turning me to himself.

    ” What of now ” he said and kissed my earlobe .
    I couldn’t help but let out a moan

    “I can’t pick up their signal…” I muttered under my breath frustrated it’s been two days and we’ve lost contact with both Seth and Quinn after the mission. “This is so like Seth why are you even worried he went off grid for two months once two days is not that much of a deal.” Erwin said leaning against the wall.
    We were still at the hotel and luckily we’ve been careful covering our tracks making it impossible for Shane’s men to find us if they tried. “I know that but Seth always left behind a clue when he do shits like this.” I muttered out loud, I was alone with Erwin we still had to stay out of sight since Shane had his men on the look out, Haven is with Maria we were able to contact a few days ago they are also hiding too until everything calmed down.
    “Maybe you aren’t looking hard enough.” Erwin suggest. “Why are you worried ? Seth can take care of himself he’s gotten into worst shit before, this isn’t the first and it’s not going to be the last.” Erwin yawned bored. “I know that, this time he’s not alone he’s with Quinn.” I look back at Erwin who finally realize the risk.
    “Dory can take care of herself she’s strong.” He commented getting away from the wall he leaned on. “She’s not weak she’s somehow messed up.” he commented I stopped stare at him he raises his head up looking at the ceiling. “Messed up? “
    “If you pay attention to her eyes they are hiding so many things, pain confusion and fear, who ever messed with her fucked her up big time she wasn’t even supposed to go on those mission we sent her but she did anyways.” he said which caught me off guard.
    “You think someone hurt Quinn? ” I asked recalling what she said about not falling in love again. “I guess, it’s just an observation my actual point there is Quinn can take care of herself and she has Seth they’ll be fine.” he voiced like he could clear less but from the look of his expression he was worried, I guess he was worried about Seth since they are somehow close.
    “I’ll run another scan.” I alerted him and turned to my laptop.

    I sat down on the bed idled as Seth peeked through the blinds of the window constantly, I was glad because I didn’t have to face him that much with the thought we kissed each other back there, all that came across my mind was the kiss I facepalmed myself hiding my bright red face.
    ‘Really a research where did that come from? ‘ I thought to myself blaming myself for using my hunger as an excuse to kiss Seth.
    ‘But you liked it.’ I could feel my thoughts smirking at me, I shake my head trying to convince myself it was Seth’s suggestion.
    I felt a hand tap me from behind. “I was hungry okay? ” I jerked up throwing Seth off guard, he looked confused and taken aback at my reaction. “I’m sorry I was just thinking.” my lame excuse didn’t seem to convince him I wasn’t even convinced myself.
    “We’ll leave in the morning it will be easy to sneak out.” I nodded my head showing I understand what he said. “I get it we’ll be here for a while.” I averted my eyes away from his and walked past him to get his bag, on our way back we got some snacks after the kissing scenario none of us brought it up and I didn’t bother I was way too embarrassed.
    I sat down at the far end of the bed away from him, he sits down at the other end we both remained in awkward silence not even bothering to utter a word. “How long have you been a police officer ?” he asked I stopped snacking and froze at first, I heaved a sigh of relief pet talking myself to say the right words.
    “Three years.”
    “Three years ?” I could hear the doubt in his voice. “Yeah, I was assigned to small tasks like giving a car a ticket, helping old people cross the street.”
    “You liked it? ” he asked.
    “Yes, I liked seeing a lot of people happy until I got promoted and started dealing with robbery investigation and thugs, I remember competing with Zoe Fehl, we both were at each other neck claiming who’s the best.. She got promoted.” I said riding on memory lane.
    “They didn’t pick you for promotion? ” he asked. “They did, I quit.” I gulped down hard thinking how I quit after Terry convince me.
    “You quit? ” he muttered in doubts I wasn’t going to tell him about Terry, not now. “Yeah but after I realized I made a big mistake I resumed.” I exaggerate a bit far from the truth, Seth looked unconvinced. “Why would you quit if you love being a police officer? ” he asked.
    “It’s personal…” I stated calmly trying to keep my emotions under control. “Personal? ” he mocked, I felt him get up from his side of the bed. “The reason why you quit is it related to the person who hurt you? ” I choked on my silava giving myself out.
    Suddenly he stood in front of me. “Who is it? ” he asked with a grave tone, he sounded like he was going to kill somebody I don’t want that to happen, Terry can just die not after what he put me through, death is just way too easy. “Did they threaten you to leave? Did they blackmail you? ” I avoided eye contact as much as I could.
    “It was my choice to leave the force.” I lied.
    Seth cracked into a laugh, I stared at my thigh he pulled my chin up I still didn’t look him in the eye. “Look me in the eye and tell me the truth.” he requested my heart raced I couldn’t keep focus with him next to him and he wants me to look him in the eye.
    “I’m telling the truth.” I lied again. “Then it won’t be hard to look me in the eye and say it.” I still didn’t heed. “You’re stubborn.” he said and suddenly I was pushed down to the bed with both my wrist pinned down to the bed.
    The room was silent and all I could hear was the beats of my heart, immediately our eyes met and again my stomach churned.
    “Get off me… ” I stated calmly. “Or else what? ” he didn’t care about letting go of me. “You’ll give me another black eye ?” he sneered at me, both our eyes were still focused.
    He trailed his hands from my wrist and locked them with mine still pinning me down, I was calm but suddenly the memory of Terry pressing me down on the bed flashed across my mind, the memory played like a movie my eyes welled up but not a single tear slide down. I breathe calmly since I was frozen in fear, I was my defense mechanism sometimes. Seth read my face and loosen his grip from my hand and gets off me sitting a bit away from me on his bed.
    I slowly got up after gaining control of my body, I rubbed my arms nervously trying to ease out the tight tension in my chest.
    “Get some sleep you’ll need it for the night.” he advised I just nodded and laid on the bed lost in thought until I slept off.

    I was called to New York to assist during a case about Heloise Peigns, my department which included me another nurse, Zoe and a few professional officers were requested to team up with the department In New York to find her and a few missing women, suddenly we were told Heloise was found she was brought to the police station along with a few women and their dead bodies after, I was taking care of the injuries of Heloise she looked traumatized while I ran a check up for her.
    “You’re going to be okay sweetie.” I told her a knock came in as a blonde girl on glasses ran in to hug Heloise, she was crying I supposed she was crying hugging her traumatized friend who seemed glad.
    “I’m so glad you are okay..” she squeezed her into a hug all I could do was admire their love and admiration for each other, I walked out giving them time to talk to each other.
    I strolled down greeting a few officers until I heard Zoe’s voice when I passed through an office. I stopped and concluded on eavesdropping. “Heloise couldn’t provide information on who the hell saved her she said they were wearing masks it has to be AXE-L.” she whispered.
    “Why would they save her and leave it for the authorities it doesn’t make sense.” I heard another voice it was a male, it familiarize to be Justin a part of my team. “They weren’t doing it for good they needed a distraction somehow so they could kill Diego Vans he was reported dead after a gun fire at his yatch.” she mummered. “But Heloise confirmed Diego locked her after she found out about his illegal business.”
    “AXE-L had something to do with this they could have brain washed her for all we know she’s barely in her state of mind we need to investigate deeper into this with assistance if we apprehend AXE-L it’s going to be a big deal.” she said I was about to leave since they had nothing interesting that intrigued me.
    “You’re talking like we have the budget for it.”
    “We do if we take the budget and resources Quinn’s filthy rich uncle donated to finding her instead of letting it go to waste and finding that irrelevant bitch we’ll investigate on the case of AXE-L.” she said, is she serious.
    “You’re joking? “
    “I’m not, what’s the point of finding Quinn she eloped with her stupid lover of a boyfriend as naive as she was and quit the force, who knows maybe she might have run off with him again.” she scoffed and I was ready to get in there and slap the shit out of her.
    “Don’t you think you’re going too far? ” Justin asked.
    “Did Quinn think she was going too far when she quit the force she even aborted her child because she didn’t care she can go to hell for all I care.” she said, I wanted to go in and fight but it’s no use starting a fight in work, Zoe was loved by everyone and they always took her by her word, they’ll believe her if I told them why I even tried to fight her.
    “The Commissioner won’t grant your request.” Justin told her. “I already told her she said she will invite Quinn’s uncle and talk to him about it, if we find her what difference does it make she’s useless.” I backed away from the door, my best friend was missing and all Zoe could think about was using the budget made to find Quinn to investigate about AXE-L so she could get promoted.
    It was messed up In so many levels.
    I turned around furious, I heard Azia my fellow nurse call me but I ignored her, does anyone care about finding Quinn.
    “Everyone is nuts..” I muttered under my breath heading back to meet Heloise she was now talking with her friend, they both were red eyed catching up it reminded me so much of me and Quinn.
    “Mandy I need your signature.” Azia managed to catch up to me, I took the clipboard away from her and the pen seeing everyone sign their signature, I gave Azia the clipboard without signing it and walked out she called but I didn’t bother answering I picked up my phone heaving a deep breath thinking I would never dail this number again, u went to a corner as it rang, immediately it picked up.
    “You finally called.” the voice chorused.
    “I thought about your offer don’t think I forgive you after the shit you got me into does the offer still stands? ” I muttered.
    “What made you change your mind? “he cooed.

    “None of your business, you want me or not? “

    “What about your job? You know what you’re getting yourself involved if you agree Mandy.” he purred my name.
    “Are you trying to discourage me now? I’m aware of the risk I’m getting myself into we’ve fucked remember.” I said with no emotion.

    “I’ll have my men come get you whenever you are ready, goodnight Mandy.” he said.
    “Yeah, goodnight… Shane.”

    FRED sat comfortably on the sofa in the sitting room and busied himself watching the evening news, as he patiently waited for Sochima to be done with the meals

    Well, yes, Sochima had begun living with them. Since the death of her parents, a lot had happened and a lot had changed

    Annette had resumed school, and Sochima had relocated to Lagos and begun living with them, since she couldn’t stay alone

    Talking of the accident, how exactly had it happened?

    Mr and Mrs Chike had embarked on a journey to a neighbouring town for the burial function of a friend

    Sochima had pleaded to go with them, but they had vehemently refused stating she was still young for that

    In disappointment and reluctance, she agreed to stay at home. In fact, that fateful Friday, she had gone visiting Favy, Fred’s sister

    Burial concluded and they set out on their way home, they hadn’t travelled a long distance when out of the blues, came an oncoming trailer in full speed and hooting so loudly

    Mr Chike tried moving on to the other lane, but it was not safe, cars were moving
    He swivelled to the left, there was a big ditch. He was now at lost on what to do

    Panic flew in, the trailer was still coming on high speed. Before they could say Jack Robinson, the trailer and their car had an head-on collision, with the trailer smashing into the car with full force

    It was so devastating as the car caught up with fire instantly
    It was so sorry, the accident claimed their lives

    Though it was about two years since it occurred, the incident couldn’t be easily cleaned off from their minds

    Sochima packed down to Lagos and began staying with them, while Annette with all encouraging words from her husband, resumed school

    Life had gone on

    Sochima soon walked into the dining and announced the food was ready

    “Uncle Fred”, she called

    Fred looked up at her

    “The food’s ready now”, she said

    Fred smiled and nodded
    “Thanks”, he shortly replied

    Sochima slightly nodded and turned, then walked out of the sitting room

    Fred watched her as she left, she’s really grown, not the little girl he had known the period he began falling in love with her sister

    He watched her leave and nodded to the fact that she’s really grown into a beautiful woman
    Fair complexioned unlike Annette, round face and large hypnotizing eyes
    She was putting on just a vest and shorts, giving him a clear view of her
    He smiled

    He looked around to be sure someone wasn’t watching him, well who dared does that? No one except the both of them were at home
    As for Annette, she was in school where she studies journalism

    He smirked and stood up,then headed towards the dining
    Annette came out of the library where she had gone to read for the evening when someone called out to her

    She turned and on seeing the caller, she sighed

    How many times had she told this guy that she’s married and therefore not in the position and mood to keep relationships?
    She keeps on telling him, but he keeps on coming to her

    Though it really hadn’t been easy for her, loosing her baby and parents almost simultaneously
    But her husband had been her back bone, and an encouragement

    Going back to school was never in her plan again, following the death of her parents, but Fred had nudged her to, her sister inclusive, and she had obliged

    School with running a family wasn’t really easy, she goes to school during the week days and returned every weekend, to spend time with her husband

    This had continued for two years now, and would soon all end

    She waited up for her caller to walk up to her

    “Hey Anne? Been looking around for ya”, he smiled

    Annette sighed
    “I’ve told you a lotta times before Nonso, I’m married. Why you still coming after me?”

    Nonso laughed
    “Because I know you’re lying to me”, he winked

    Annette hissed
    Why wouldn’t he thinks she’s lying? When she had married so early.
     When she’s got no wedding ring on her. Why not?
    Her marriage had gone the way she never wanted, never

    She looked at him
    “Well I’m sorry to disappoint you but it’s the truth, I’m actually married. Ask around”

    He licked his lips
    “Well I think I should save up my energy for such nonsense”, he looked around, then turned to her, “I’m for real Anne, I’m not like all other fake guys. I’m for real, just give me a chance please”

    She rolled her eyes
    “I’m sorry”, she turned and left

    He looked round again then walked up to her
    “Anne?”, he called

    “Don’t bring up this matter again Nonso, or you wouldn’t like what will come next after that”, she sternly warned and walked away
    Fred covered up the plates after eating and left the dining, going to his room
    The thought of Sochima, his wife’s sister hadn’t waved off his head, infact they didn’t seem to be waving away

    He tried pushing the thought out of his head, but they kept coming in full force

    Going to his room to retire for the night, he abruptly stopped by her room
    The door was closed and he placed his ear on it, all he could hear was the showering of water, she seemed to be having her bath

    Against his wish, he tried the door knob and it opened, then he stealthily walked in

    Much to his surprise, very much to his surprise the first thing that greeted his eyes as soon as he entered the room was her nude body in the bath!

    She had left the bathroom door opened, why not? She wasn’t expecting anyone

    Fred looked at her with his mouth ajar, she was backing him, and so couldn’t see him

    For minutes he stood there watching and drooling, she turned off the shower after bathing, and that was when he realized himself

    He quickly turned back, and as stealthily as he came, he left

    Fred couldn’t think straight since the moment he saw Sochima in the bath, he had been thinking dirty

    He quickly took his bath and flopped on the bed
    Sleep couldn’t elude him and he knew why?

    “What am I doing?”, he asked himself
    Why was he thinking this way?

    After about an hour of trying to catch a sleep, and it couldn’t come, he decided to go see her
    After all, his wife wasn’t home. Besides who knew what she did herself at school

    He shrugged and got up, then walked to Sochima’s room.

    I killed my car engine and got out of the car then shut the door. I brought out my phone from the bag then switch it on to check whether i had any message but none. Geez. I put it in my jacket pocket.

    So Justin forgot my birthday, huh? No problem. But Alex own pained me more. I kept hissing as I got to my door and opened up.

    Holy Molly.. Why is everywhere dark like this? I reached for my phone inside my bag to Atleast use the flashlight but I couldn’t find it.

    I just kept the phone in this bag few minutes ago. Mtcheew. I move gently and slowly to avoid pumping into anything. Trying to reach where the switch was.

    I switch it on and immediately remember I had put the phone in my jacket pocket. Silly Tiwa. I chuckled and turned. I flinched immediately.

    I smiled and went into his open arms. This actually the first time, we’re hugging.
    Wait… I feel different… My heartbeats… Am feeling somehow. It felt as if I was with someone, am connected to. Someone I needed. Someone,I shouldn’t leave. What’s happening to me?.

    Someone cleared his or her throat and I unlock from the hug. I kinda felt a bit embarrassed cos I realize we’ve hugged for long.

    “Come make a wish, so you can cut the cake”.

    A cake? I look down at the glass table and OMG. A big beautiful Cake with strawberry all over it. It looks so yummy.I gelt myself drooling.

    “Happy Birthday Gorgeous”. Was written on it. I know it Alex’s doing. I look at his direction and he winked at me.

    I blushed. What else have I not notice in this room? I look around the living room. To behold a beautiful sight. Balloons and cute flowers. It was well decorated.

    “Can you please come and blow the candle, make a wish and cut your cake? I’ve been drooling “. Justin said and Ella gave him a girly punch..
    I move to the cake and bent a little. Time to make a wish. Seriously this the best birthday, have ever had.

    “This new year, I pray it should come with sea of blessings from heaven. I pray that my life be filled with prosperity. Let there be good hope and infinite love. Thank you lord for sparing my life and….

    “Laura, blow this thing na. Shuu”. I heard Justin whined and I blew the candle.

    I cut the cake and Justin was the first person that came to me. I took a bite from the cake and moaned. It so yummy.

    “Thank you so much everybody. Most especially my husband and my father and mother inlaw. This the best birthday have ever had. I thought my day was just gonna pass by like norm days but you guys made it. Am so glad.

    “I’ll like someone to have a bite before everybody, may I please? “.

    “Yeah”. Everybody chorused. I saw Alex grinning. Sorry dear but i’ll burst your bubbles. “Mrs Stella Philips”. I announced.
    Everybody was surprised, they clapped. I cut a little portion and took it to her.

    “Thank you so much Tiwa. For honoring me”. She said and opened her mouth and I stuffed it in.

    Alex and I walk slowly and finally got to the pool. We sat and had our legs in it. I told him to let’s go out for a while. Everyone was still inside.

    “Of course not, I knew it a year ago when I was going through the stuffs you left behind”.

    Silence troop in. All we could hear was the laughter coming from the living room. It kinda feel awkward.

    “We wanna check something outside”. Alex said saving me cos I don’t even know the lie to make up. He opened the gate and we walk out.

    “Wow thats an ice cream shop over there”. I beamed pointing at a shop across the road.
    “Yeah let’s go grab some”.

    “Oh oh. I only have my phone here. My purse arent here”. I said sadly.

    “I have my wallet here”. He grinned.
    “Wow. You’re not a dickhead after all”. I chuckled.

    “Let’s cross then”.

    “Cross to the other side? “. He half screamed.

    Oh God.. “What again, Mr Alex? “.

    ” Am sorry but i’ve never done that before. Let’s just wait for a cab”.

    I ignored him. Grab his hand and made sure there was no car then we both walk to the other side with him clunging unto me.
    We entered the shop and i release his hands when I realized have been holding him for long.

    We approached a vacant table, he brought the chair out for me and I sat down.

    “I’ll be right back”. He said and left.

    The ice cream shop is nice. I must say. Very beautiful. There were few people in it. Mostly teenage lovers and just two grown up adult like Alex and I.

    “Here we go”. I look up to see Alex. He settled beside me.

    “Awwn. What flavor is this? “.

    “Vanilla and strawberry”.

    “How do you know what am craving for? Have you start reading minds? “.
    He chuckled and I admire his cute smile. What’s going on with me. “I just guess”.
    We ate our ice cream gisting about silly things like our childhood. I kept stealing from his cup cos it was melting and he was eating slowly.

    “Can’t you stop stealing mine? You have yours. Geez”. He whined and I chuckled.
    I tried to steal from his cup again and he caught my hand making my spoon leave a stain on his cheek.

    I chuckled. “Now you’re looking like Santa”.

    “Just shut up and let me help you get it off. Mummy’s boy”.

    “Am no Mummy’s boy. I’ve told you countless time”.

    “Can you stop being a jerk and let me get it off”.

    “Nah. I’ll just do it myself”. He said and wipe his face making it come close to his mouth.

    I couldn’t help but laugh hard. People around look at our direction and soon face their business.

    “And why are you laughing now? It your mess anyways. So clean it”. He said more like an order.

    “Oh really. Now you’re sounding bossy. You just said you’d do it yourself. Then do please”. I said and face my cup. I look up at him and saw him staring at me.

    He rolled his eyes. “Okay do it”.

    “Do it?. Just like that”.

    “What? What else do you want me to say. Okay. Please ma, Mrs Laura clean it”.
    “Good boy. Now you’re talking”.

    “I just told you to stop calling me a boy”.
    “You still wanna argue, right? Okay”.

    “Nah. Just do it now”.

    “Untill you accept you’re a boy”.
    “Seriously. Do you realise i’ll soon turn thirty two? “.

    I shrugged. “Who cares? “.

    “Arrgh. Okay. Am a boy”.

    “Say Alex is a boy”.

    I giggled. I took my thumb to his face and wipe it off. Like magic, my thumb move to his lips. They so soft. What will it feel like tasting them? I’ve never had a proper kiss before.

    I found my head moving closer to his. Our heads were coming closer and our face was just inches apart. Our nose touched.

    “Grriinhg”. My phone suddenly rang. I withdraw and pick up my phone. “It Justin. We should go now”.

    “Umm yeah”. We stood up and left the shop. We were both silent, walking slowly and then crossed the road.

    Wait. What the hell almost happened? We almost kissed. What? What if Justin did not call?.What’s the chemistry between us? Geez.. Tiwa… But I kinda wished we kiss though. Why?

    “Mrs Laura”. I heard Alex call breaking into my thought.

    “Yeah”.

    “We home”.

    I look up and it was true. We outside my gate already”wow so soon”.

    “Yeah”.

    I was about to knock when he held me back. I turned and face him.

    “Can you close your eye for a while? “.

    “Huh? Okay”. I did and few seconds, I heard his footsteps as he came closer.I felt something cold on me. “You can open your eyes”.

    I open my eyes and my hand travel to my neck. Wow. A pendulum necklace.
    “Happy Birthday. Once again”. He said and all I could do was smile.

    “Thank you”. I muttered. I wanna kiss him but how do I tell him? Just how?

    My face went closer to his and I gave him a light kiss. A kiss that was like a peck. Then I withdraw. I don’t know what to do anyways.
    I couldn’t look into his face. “Umm have never kissed before,So I don’t know what to……

    I was cut off as his lips crashed on mine. He held my face with one hand and the other on my waist and deepen the kiss.

    THE sounds of the cries of little children and walking feet across the marble floor filtered into Annette’s ears and her eyes flickered open

    She was at daze about her surroundings as she looked round, everywhere was white
    White walls, white curtains on the window, white ceiling and white bed she was lying on

    For a moment she was confused and she racked her brain, trying to recollect what must have happened

    Thanks it dawned on her, she remembered being attacked in her house, the door opening and then it was Fred

    She didn’t know whatever happened afterwards, because she passed out

    She must be in the hospital, she thought
    She stirred and turned her head and she saw Fred, he was sitting on a couch close to the door

    Fred noticed Annette stirred and he looked towards the bed, a smile played on his lips
    At last, she was awake

    She had passed out as soon as he entered the house, and he had immediately rushed her to the hospital

    He stood up and walked to the bed

    “Hi, you are awake”, he said

    She sighed and nodded
    “Yeah”

    He smiled and took her left hand in his

    “You will always be mine, no matter what happens”, he said softly

    Annette was confused to hear that, she waved it off anyway
    What she needed to know was how had he known she was in danger to have come to her rescue?
    And what has become of the perpetrators?

    She looked at him, the questions filled in her mouth but no idea on how to start it

    Fred looked at her and smiled, he knew what was going on in her mind, he didn’t want her to bother herself about it, at least not now
    He bent down and pecked her lips

    “Don’t bother asking, all you need now is rest”, he whispered

    Annette shook her head, she needed to know

    “I must know, please tell me. How come you knew I was in danger, to have come and saved me?”

    He sighed
    “That’s really nothing for you to worry about”, he said

    Actually there was no big deal on that, he had only just woken up that morning feeling uncomfortable bad
    He decided to go check up on her

    She shook her head
    “Well what about the Timi and the rest? I’m now getting scared of her, no one knows what she’s up to. I just feel like leaving the cause of all these problem”, she looked up at him, “leaving you”, she said

    His face changed
    “You don’t solve a problem by running away from it okay? Anyways as regards them, they’ve all been expelled from the school, and apprehended by the police”

    She heaved a sigh of relief
    “That’s really good news, I want all these to be over”

    “Of course it has. If only you don’t run away from your problem”

    She looked at him and smiled, she knew what he meant. If she doesn’t leave him
    Why would she?

    She shook her head
    “I won’t”

    He smiled
    “Now you are talking. Er…..”, he paused, scared to ask what he had in mind

    “Go on”, she nudged him

    He sighed
    “Well I’m really sorry this has to happen to you, not only had it happened, it happened just three days to my graduation”

    She smiled, she got what he’s trying to say
    “Well, it’s….it’s nothing though, I’ll be fine soon”

    “Of course I know that. But would you be able?”

    She was confused
    “Sorry, able to what?”

    “As regards what we discussed. My special present, would I be able to get it that day?”

    A smile played on her face, she nodded
    “Of course, for you”

    His eyes widened
    “You serious? Are you sure you can?”

    “Yeah”

    He couldn’t believe his ears, he was so happy
    “Thank you”, he kissed the back of her palm

    “Welcome”

    “So, I think I should go get you something, you must be really famished now”

    She laughed
    “Yeah, please do”

    “Sure”, he pecked her forehead, “I’ll be right back”, and he turned and left the ward

    She was sipping wine along

    “Hey dear, bath ready”, he said and then bent forward to peck her on the cheek

    “Thanks Fred”, she looked at herself, “I can’t believe I’m still on my party dress”, they laughed

    “It was really weary, I mean the day”, he waved his head

    “Yeah”, she nodded and got up, they walked to the bathroom
    “Well I can’t believe you’ve finally graduated today Fred”, she winked

    He laughed
    “You have to believe that baby”

    They got to the bathroom
    “Well I think you should leave now, let me have my bath”, she laughed

    “Sure, just wanted to make sure you got here safely”, he winked

    “You must be insane”

    “Insane whenever I’m around you”, and he left

    Annette got into the shower, and the water began pouring out

    Fred walked into the kitchen and began dishing out the food he had earlier bought

    It was his graduation day, the day he graduated from the higher I, and so they had just been no time even for cooking

    As for him and Annette, they would be returning home for the holidays the next day

    After dishing out the food, he placed it in a tray and carried it to the dining, then he returned to the kitchen
    He opened the refrigerator and brought out a can of tuna and two packs of juice. Then he took them to the dining

    By the time he got to the dining, Annette was also coming in, finished bath, and was putting on his t-shirt

    “Finished bathing?”, he asked

    Annette looked at him
    “No, I’m still bathing”, she shoved back a chair and sat

    “But you look sweet in that t-shirt of mine”

    She smiled
    “Thanks. Wow, we have a lot for dinner”

    “Yeah”, he sat down

    “I can’t wait to devour these”, she made to take a plate from the piled up, and he stopped her

    “You are my guest aren’t you? Let me do that”, he said

    She shrugged and allowed him
    She watched him serve the food onto the plates, poured some juice into the cups, and they began eating

    Silence reigned as they watered their gullets

    Suddenly the event of yesterday night, came playing in her head, how she was almost raped and then the sudden appearance of those boys, and her escape

    Who were those boys? And how had she escaped without them knowing?
    She looked at Fred, she wanted to tell him, but decided against that

    “Hope you enjoying the food?”, Fred broke into her thoughts

    She looked at him and replied with a start
    “Oh yeah, very well”, she smiled

    “I wanted so”, he took a piece of chicken from his plate and put it in hers, “so tell me what’s going on in that young mind of yours?”

    She was shocked. How did he know her mind is really troubled at the moment
    She sighed, as she played with her cutleries

    “I’m all ears”, he pressed on

    She looked at him, should she tell him?
    “Well, I….. I was attacked yesterday night on my way home”

    Fred nodded
    “I know that”

    She looked at him, eyes widened
    “You know that? How do you mean?”, she asked startled

    He sighed
    “I mean I know. He wanted to rape you right?”

    What! She was flabbergasted, how did he knew?

    “How……how did you know?”

    He laughed
    “I had you followed. I mean you can’t go home alone on such hour”

    What!
    He had her followed? She was pissed off now
    She dropped her cutleries

    “You mean you did that?”

    “Yeah, because I know very well that you won’t let me do that if I asked you, so I took you unawares, I sent those guys”

    Huh? Those boys were sent by him? How interesting it sounds
    She was speechless, all she could do was watch him in awe

    “My God”, she said, her left hand on her chest

    “Well I’m sorry for not telling you, but it saved you”

    She nodded in agreement, it really did saved her

    “Yeah it did. Thanks”, she looked away in shyness

    He smiled, he dropped his cutleries and stared at her
    “Anne?”, he called

    “Yes?”, she looked up at him

    He sighed
    “I’m really sorry for all the things you were going through because of me, yeah, I’m really sorry”

    She smiled, he was sorry? That was good to hear

    “Um…. thanks anyway”

    He nodded
    “Don’t worry about anything again ok?”

    She nodded
    “I’m only worried how I’ll be staying alone in school without you, now that you’ve finally graduated”, she twisted her lips

    He lowly laughed
    “That’s no problem Anne ok? It’s no problem. Come on”, he took a spoonful of rice and directed it towards her mouth

    Annette watched in fear as Fred advanced towards her, his shirt off
    She really wasn’t sure if what she’s to do, she only knew she was giving him the present; the special present

    He made her lie her back on the bed and then he laid on top of her

    “I’m gonna be easy on you ok?”, he whispered softly into her ears, then he began bitting at it

    She nodded, she was heavily panting like she ran a marathon

    He slowly took off the t-shirt she was putting on, and she wore no inner wears

    She’s gradually becoming nude in front of him

    She closed her face with her hands in shame, he saw her did this and smiled
    Then he removed her hands and brought his lips closer to hers, their tongues rolled against each other and she felt the moisture in his tongue, it tasted of apple juice

    He stopped the kiss and moved his mouth to her left nipple, she cringed as he suckled at it

    He took his hands to her v area and instantly slipped two of his fingers through the panties

    “Arrgh”, she screamed, it was painful

    She nodded
    “I’m only worried how I’ll be staying alone in school without you, now that you’ve finally graduated”, she twisted her lips

    He lowly laughed
    “That’s no problem Anne ok? It’s no problem. Come on”, he took a spoonful of rice and directed it towards her mouth

    Annette watched in fear as Fred advanced towards her, his shirt off
    She really wasn’t sure if what she’s to do, she only knew she was giving him the present; the special present

    He made her lie her back on the bed and then he laid on top of her

    “I’m gonna be easy on you ok?”, he whispered softly into her ears, then he began bitting at it

    She nodded, she was heavily panting like she ran a marathon

    He slowly took off the t-shirt she was putting on, and she wore no inner wears
    Huh?
    She’s gradually becoming nude in front of him

    She closed her face with her hands in shame, he saw her did this and smiled
    Then he removed her hands and brought his lips closer to hers, their tongues rolled against each other and she felt the moisture in his tongue, it tasted of apple juice

    He stopped the kiss and moved his mouth to her left nipple, she cringed as he suckled at it

    He took his hands to her v area and instantly slipped two of his fingers through the panties

    “Arrgh”, she screamed, it was painful

    Gosh! She was too tight
    Then he began thrusting his fingers in and out
    She gasped

    So this was it? This was the feeling? Pains and nothing else

    His tongue rolled all over her body, her eyes, her ears, her mouth, her contours and she couldn’t help but cringe at every of the sensitive touch

    These all went on for almost an hour or so, has she thought, then he abruptly stopped and looked into her eyes, they’re closed

    He sighed

    “How do you know what I’m thinking Kat? C’mon Kat you can’t possibly be falling for your boss? He’s a married man and it doesn’t matter if the wife is having an affair with another man or not. Mr Desmond loves his wife so much. Erin can never do wrong in his eyes which is why you have to stop that crazy feeling of yours and focus. You have tried for the man already. Kat… you can’t protect him when he’s not ready to protect himself. If he wants to die in the hands of his wife and her lover then good luck to him. You have tried enough. Is high time you start focusing on yourself. Leave that house before they throw you out. That will be more embarrassing. I’m happy to know that he gave you some money…more than expected. Get out of that house Kat.

    I breath out deeply as I listened to Julie talk.

    “Julie… you don’t understand this whole thing. I feel awkward having this kind of strange feeling for Mr Desmond. I tried to stop myself several times from thinking about him but I still go back to same thing. Is never deliberate and it all started recently. I have to stop myself from admiring the good and fine man I saw in him whenever I look into his eyes. I wondered why Erin will be gambling with such a good man’s heart. Listen Julie, I’m worried and scared for Mr Desmond. I have being looking out for him, he’s not an easy target for Erin and her gangs because of the way i made it, That’s more reason she wants me out by all means. As much as I want to get out of that house immediately I can’t help but worry over what will become of Mr Desmond. This is not exactly how I planned my life…never. initially I used to feel pity for Mr Desmond… watching him sit in that wheelchair helpless. But after he got out of the wheelchair the pitiful feeling change to something more. I tried… I really tried to shut it off. I did not want to nurse any unnecessary emotions but then the more I tried the more he occupies my head. I needed somebody to talk to which was why I sort you out. Erin slapped me twice and is unfortunate that is all in vain. I couldn’t achieve my aim which was to gather evidence…a good proof. She needs to be expose. I wanted Mr Desmond to know the kind of woman she is… well, Mr Desmond is still in love with her and my opinion will never count.

    After sometime I left Julie and went over to see my Dad and younger brother.

    I told them that I was coming home soon
    My Dad asked to know why but I just told him that I felt is time to leave and Chase my dream.

    I didn’t want to prolong the topic.

    I quickly head straight to bed.

    I passed the night at my place.

    The following day I returned back to the Desmonds mansion.

    As I was going to my quarters, Natasha walked up to me.

    “What are you doing here again. I thought you were gone for good So that we can breath in peace. Mrs Desmond said her husband fired you, I couldn’t help but dance for joy. I told you that throwing yourself into his arms won’t do you any good. Acting like a cheap prostitute all in the name of helping him won’t save you from getting fired. You deserved whatever you get, I wish is even more…

    She started laughing as I walked away.
    I was not in the mood to battle words with her.

    I was in my quarters arranging my things when I heard a knock on the door.

    I quickly set my recording gadget properly.
    I hide it within the room where it will record everything.

    My thoughts was that Natasha has come to taunt me again and she may say some useful things that will give me proof of what Erin is up-to.

    I will be able to show Mr Desmond before I finally leave the house.

    All I want is for him to be careful.

    It will sadden me greatly if I found out that something bad happened to him after I’m gone.

    I hope whatever Natasha has to say will be very useful.

    I may even try to put words in her mouth to make her speak even more.

    It didn’t work out with Erin does not mean it won’t work with Natasha.

    Natasha is a parrot, she enjoys humiliating me with her nonsense talk.

    But today her talk will be useful to me.
    I’m hopeful that it will go well this time.
    I went to open and there stood Erin.

    It wasn’t Natasha but Mrs Desmond. She was indeed beautiful in her outfit as she stood smiling mischievously at me.

    She dressed up like she was going for a special occasion.

    She walked pass me into the room.

    “Is unfortunate that you will no longer enjoy the tranquility of this room and the peaceful environment that comes with it. I thought you were gone already. Natasha just informed me that you returned back. I guess is to pick your baggages. Kay-se Lukas this is where the road ends for you. I really wanted to make you a somebody…I wanted to transform your life but you chose to remain a nobody which is very sad. At the end of the day you won’t receive any award or a trophy for helping my husband out of his wheelchair. The very unfortunate part is that I may still push him off the cliff and watch him fall to either his death or back to the wheelchair. He will remain at my mercy. That’s sad for you isn’t it? Desmond does my biddings and has never refused me anything until you came into our lives and tries to change that but I’m always ahead of everything. I only needs to come up with an idea… sell it to Desmond and watch him buy everything. He refused to fire you and it was very shocking to me but all I did was to play the game differently and it works. He fired your broke ass and I’m still in control. You may be wondering why I’m well dressed…. I’m going on two weeks vacation with my heart beat… you already knows who that might be. Silas and I will be having loads of fun for two weeks. Ship cruising to skydiving and partying hard. I already told Desmond that I’m visiting my sick aunt who lives in a Faraway city and will be spending two weeks there. Natasha gave me this idea and I paid her dearly. I underestimated her in the beginning. I never knew she can add words together and it will make loads of sense. Well, Desmond also gave me some money to give to my aunt. He is such a foolish man doing all my wishes. Even when it makes him sad. all he wants is to make sure that I’m happy. Isn’t that sweet? I know by the time I return back which will be after two weeks, you will be gone and forgotten. I will handle Desmond in my own pleasing way and Silas will move in with me, Natasha will be my personal assistant and her own personal wishes will come true and that will be the end of all this long story. Everybody will get what they want. Anyway… enough of all this talk. Goodbye and may our parts never cross ever again or you will live to regret it.

    She began to laugh as she tapped me on the shoulder before walking away.

    My heart was beating as I counted her every step out of the room.

    My mind was on the recording gadget.

    As she walked out I waited for some seconds before rushing to check if her every words was picked.

    I inserted an earpiece and listened.

    Everything she said was recorded.

    I was very happy that I even started jumping in the room.

    All I needed to do was to wait for her to drive out and I will go and show Mr Desmond.

    I tried to calm down my racing heart as i waited for an hour which seems like forever. I wanted to make sure that she was really gone.

    I rushed out of my quarters and head straight to see Mr Desmond.

    My well loaded gadget that has every proof I need was careful relaxing in my dress pocket.

    Natasha saw me going in and quickly rushed to start her usual rant but I don’t need her words anymore.

    What I have is enough for me.

    I deliberately push her aside as she tries to stop me from going to see Mr Desmond in his lounge.

    She fell with a heavy sound. She stood up and charged me into a fight but she probably remembered what happened to her the first time we fought and withdraw back.

    She was running her mouth but I totally ignored with full smile on my face because what I have will convince Mr Desmond of the kind of person she has
    Just when I was about going in, something sharp and hard hit my arm.

    The pain was unbearable at first.

    When I turned, I saw Natasha standing few distance away and smiling.

    It was a rock she used to stone me which bruised my hand and I can feel blood running down my arm.

    “Let’s see who’s smiling now… you or me? Don’t you ever underestimate me Kay-se. I don’t miss my target, you are very lucky the rock did not break your empty skull. What ever you have to say to Mr Desmond will be a waste of time because he won’t believe you. He has fired you and his decision is final. I thought you returned to pick your things? You are only going in there because madam is away and I will update her every detail. Go and get a life and leave this family alone. Mr Desmond doesn’t have your time or want you here anymore. He said that himself…

    She was still talking when the door swings open and Mr Desmond came out.

    “What’s the noise all about.

    He asked with a frown plastered on his face.

    He looks towards me and seems a bit shock.
    Natasha quickly spoke before I will even open my mouth.

    “I was trying to throw away a small stone and it mistakenly hit Kay-se’s hand.

    Mr Desmond looked towards me.

    “Are you hurt… Are you alright?…

    “I’m fine. I will take care of the wound once I’m out of here. I have something I want to show you…in private. If you don’t mind.
    He nodded and ushered me in.

    I went inside his private lounge and brought out the recorded gadget. I
    Showed it to him.

    “Here is my proof of who your wife really is and…

    He interrupted me with a hand to his lips.
    “You really don’t have to go through so much trouble to get a proof Kay. I already know. I know everything I just chose to play along like the fool she thinks I am….

    Water dried up from my mouth.

    So Mr Desmond knew all this while of what Erin is up-to?

    Why haven’t he confronted her and exposed all her wicked deeds .why did he chose to remain quiet and act like a fool.
    I heard so much question ruining through my mind

    “Please allow me examine your wound Kay…

    He said to me as he walked closer to where I was standing.

    “Idiot” I said laughing.

    “Hope you haven’t forgotten your model girlfriend.” He said raising his hands to signify quotation marks.

    “I can’t forget Angelica, i am just worried about how she would feel when she sees Charlotte in my house.” I said sighing.

    “Intimidated.” He replied.

    “Why would she be intimidated?” I asked furrowing my brows.

    “It is obvious. Charlotte is more curvy and beautiful than Angelica.” He said using his hands in demonstration of a woman’s curve.

    “Well I don’t know about that.” I said pretending not go know. But honestly, Charlotte is so hot!!

    “I can’t wait to get home, I want to see her assets every time.” He said grinning stupidly.

    “Can you just take your eyes off her, its annoying.” I said flipping open the documents in front of me.

    “Hey Success.” Davis said smiling stupidly.

    “Hi Davis.” She replied moving to where I sat. “Sir, the documents you are to sign.” She said placing it on my table.

    “Success what about our discussion?” Davis asked grinning.

    “We will see in camera.” She asked blushing before moving out of my office.

    “Yes!” He yelled happily.

    “Seems you have finally seen a girlfriend.” I said winking at him.

    “Not yet. Not when I still have Charlotte close by.” He said winking at him, while I shot a deadly look making him laugh hard.

          ANGELICA’S POV

    I drove into John’s house happily. I adjusted my dressing and my makeup before coming down from the car.

    I walked majestically to the door, I pressed the door bell with the best smile I could put on. I waited for him to open up.

    The door opened and I was about jumping on him when I saw a very beautiful girl in front of me. She smiled at me, and I must say she is cute.

    “Hi” she said smiling widely.

    “Hi.” I replied looking at her from head to toe.

    “Come in.” She said opening the door for me. I walked in swaying my a** majestically. I looked to have a better look of her.

    She had an apron on and she was heavily loaded! She had butts as thrice as mine. Omg! What is she doing here? Why will somebody like her stay her for a minute.

    “What are you doing here?” I asked sitting on the couch and crossing my legs on each other.

    “I am the new maid ma’am.” She said smiling. Who is smiling with her?

    “Ohhh maid, yeah.” I said rolling my eyes.

    “And you are?” She asked smiling.

    “Well, I am John’s Fiancée.” I said smiling.

    “You look beautiful ma’am.” She said smiling.

    “Hun thank you and, only beauties like us stay close to John.” I said smirking.

    “Please excuse me, I am kinda busy in the kitchen.” She said walking away.

    I watched the way her hips and butts bounced in the trousers. They threaten to fall out from the waist.

    “Oh God, why would John employ someone like this. She is too beautiful to be here. Tho not as beautiful as I am.” I thought.

    I know just what to do. When I frustrate her, she will have no choice than to leave here.

    “Hey maid, get me a drink!” I yelled. I brought out my phone and started chatting with you know? My lovers online.

    “Here ma’am.” She said placing it on the table in front of me.

    “Where is the ice?” I asked angrily.

    “I am sorry. I will get it now.” She said running to the kitchen when I noticed the slippers she wore.

    “Hey come back.” I yelled standing up.

    “I am Charlotte. you know to make it east for you to call me.” She said smiling as she got to my front.

    “I don’t care what your filthy name is, you garbage.! Where did you get those?” I asked angrily pointing to the slippers on her feet.

    “Davis gave them to me.” She answered bowing slightly.

    “And he didn’t tell you it is my baby’s own?” I added sweeping my hair behind my ear.

    “No he didn’t. I am sorry ma’am, I will remove it right away.” She said running away.

    “Did I ask you to leave?” I said and she came rubbing back to me. I am really enjoying this.

    “Am sorry ma’am.” She said panting.

    “Now leave, remove that slippers and get me my ice!” I yelled as she ran from my presence.

    I sat on the couch tiredly, my throat was itchy due to the way I yelled and my head was hurting a little.

    AS soon as Annette left the garden, they prepared to leave. Her parents and sister walked to the car, and she joined them immediately

    Fred’s mother stood by to see them off. Annette walked up to her and embraced her

    “Thanks Mom, thank you for the care”, she said

    “Ohh my daughter, it’s nothing ok, it’s nothing”

    “All the same, God bless you”

    “Amen my daughter”

    She opened her mouth to talk more and she saw Fred approaching, instantly she walked into their car

    Her father and sister were already sitted, soon her mom came in and they drove off, waving at the people who came to see them off

    Fred saw the way Annette quickly went into the car on seeing him, and he knew he was the reason, he was sad

    What has he done to warrant such treatments from her? What?

    He sadly watched as the car drove out of the compound. His mother saw him in that mood and walked up to him

    “Freddie, what’s wrong?”, she asked, placing her hand on his cheek

    He sighed and ran his hands through his hair, he really didn’t know what to say, he didn’t know what he should reply

    Sarah heaved a sigh, and stood arms akimbo
    “Is it because of Annette?”, she asked

    He looked at his mother and nodded
    “She……. she’s not treating me fine”

    “You are the cause”, she said

    He looked at her inquiringly, Annette had just told him he was the cause, now his mother is saying the same thing, how does she know?

    “Do…….do you know Timi?”, he asked

    Sarah looked dazed and confused, who was Timi?

    “Who’s Timi?”, she asked

    Fred was taken aback by her question, he thought he knew her, because she was the root of all these problem
    He decided to wave it off

    “Mom, forget that. But how am I the cause of the……….”

    “Fred, who’s Timi?”, Sarah interrupted

    Fred knew he wasn’t up for a game anymore, whenever his mother calls him ‘Fred’, then he knows she’s damn serious and needs answers

    He shook his head
    “Ok mom. Timi is my ex”

    What!
    His mother looked at him with disgust
    What was he trying to say? That he already had someone else aside Annette in a relationship?
    When she was trying all possible bests to link him and Annette?
    That was rubbish!

    “You are a diassapointment son”, she shook her head in sorrow, “how could you have dated someone else, when I was preparing the path for you and Annette, how?”

    He sighed, apparently regretting what he did. Dating Timi wasn’t even the best thing that has happened to him either, instead he had been left heartbroken all the while

    “Mom I’m sorry ok, I’m sorry. I…… I think I was carried away by…… facial looks”

    “That’s your problem. As regards saying you are the cause Annette is behaving the way she’s towards you, Favy had told me everything. Her friend Sochi, told her. You were once her crush, I said once because she doesn’t seem to like you anymore. When she was dying to have you, all you were doing was going after her friend, now you want her she doesn’t want you”

    Fred looked at her in shock, he never knew or realized Annette liked him, he never knew
    He was utterly shocked

    “But mum, I never knew”

    “Oh yes because you never wanted to”

    Ohh God!
    What was he gonna do now? His heart was already ripping in two

    “What do you suggest I do mom?”

    “Do? Approach her”

    “But that’s what I’ve been trying to do, she’s not giving me her time”, he complained

    “Maybe you should try harder”, she turned to leave, but then she remembered something
    “You said something about your ex being the cause of Annette’s problem? How?”

    He sighed
    “She told me herself that when she was being attacked, she was told to keep off Timi’s boyfriend and……..I’m the one obviously”

    His mother was now confused
    “Timi’s boyfriend? But you just said she’s your ex, oh! She’s trying to get you back, she’s obviously the one behind the attack”

    Fred knew it already, he knew she’s the one, but that wasn’t what they were talking about

    “Mom let’s for……”

    “I must get to the root of this”, she interrupted, “goodness gracious! I will find out who this Timi is”, she turned and left, leaving Fred in shock as he watched her leave

    He hoped Timi never had a hand in it, else……
    He shrugged and went into the house

    Timi looked at her wristwatch and sighed, she was almost behind the time she has scheduled to leave for Fred’s place

    She locked up the house and rushed to the road to board a cab, then straight to Fred’s, without even bothering to stop at the shop first, Fred was more important

    She got there in a jiffy, and walked to the gigantic gate, wondering how she would go in

    She knew she couldn’t come in as Fred’s girlfriend, following his warnings to stay off him, and there was no other way to go in, she decided to text him

    She sat on the pavement guarding the flowers planted beside the fence, and waited for him

    Fred walked out of the dining, he just had breakfast, so late
    Why not?
    Annette had been a source of problem and concern to him, he has spent a lot of his time thinking on how best to accost her

    He was about going into his room when his phone rang, he looked into it and hissed
    It was Timi

    Wait! What does she want now?
    Could it be, she is the one behind Annette’s attack two nights ago?

    Hmm, even if she was the one,he definitely wasn’t gonna handle her, he wasn’t prepared for that
    Moreover he wasn’t prepared to take laws into his hands

    He made to ignore the call and open the door, when it stopped ringing and then a message notification popped out

    He knew she was the one, he opened the text though against his wish, what he saw made him cringed

    “Please Fred listen to me, come and meet me outside your house, I’m presently there”, the text read

    What!
    What was the she-devil doing there? He groaned and went out to meet her

    After sending the text, Timi waited for him to come out, she knew he would

    Soon she heard the iron gate clicking open, and she got up
    The gate opened and Fred came out

    “What are you doing here?”, he thundered, “hadn’t I warned you to stay away from me?”

    Timi’s face fell
    “Yes you did, but I’m sorry. You need to hear me out Fred, I ….. I wasn’t cheating on you as you said”

    Fred looked at her in disgust
    “So?”

    Timi sighed
    “You have to listen to me okay? Peter or whatever he’s called, is not my boyfriend”

    “And how am I sure you aren’t lying?”

    “I’m not, believe you me……. please”, she rubbed her palms together, pleading

    Fred sighed
    Was she saying the truth?
    Even if it’s the truth, he doesn’t need her anymore, the whole incident had made him realized Annette was one in a million, a gold mine

    Ohh talking about the incident, he looked at her
    “You aren’t only having affairs aside us, you also sent some hoodlums to attack Annette”

    She freezed, jeeze!
    How come he knew? She made an expressionless face

    “I wasn’t the one who planned that”, she shook her head

    He looked her over, she was still lying

    “I should have known you were nothing but a blatant liar”

    Timi was stunned
    “I wasn’t…… I know who planned it, I know who had full hand in this”

    “What? You mean to tell me it wasn’t you?”

    She nodded
    “Yes, it wasn’t me”

    There was silence for a while, as Fred digested the information

    “Who then?”, he asked

    She sighed and folded her hands
    “I will only tell you on one condition”, she walked closer to him, covering the distance between them

    He was just looking at her in disgust, what was she trying to do?
    “What condition?”

    She seductively placed her right hand on his cheeks, then she ran her fingers round his face

    “That you accept me back”, she said

    “You are not serious, get off me”, he pushed her away

    “Ahh, don’t you wanna know again?”

    He was panting heavily, not because he ran, but because he was very angry, very angry

    “I can’t accept you back. If that’s the condition then leave the matter, I don’t care”, he turned to leave

    “Wait……wait”, she called dragging him back
    “Fred please listen to me. Okay I’ll tell you the perpetrator, because I still very much love you, I will”

    He stopped and looked at her
    Love indeed, he made a face

    “It’s Cynthia”, she said

    What!
    Cynthia? He couldn’t believe it
    Cynthia can’t do that to Annette, moreover they are friends at the church though, so how would she want to harm her, because of him?
    No, he didn’t believe her

    “You know what? You are the devil’s wife I must say, you know how to lie”

    She laughed
    “You think I’m lying, okay. Investigate it, I know she’s your friend so find out”

    Fred shook his head in negotiation
    “Annette and Cynthia are friends, so why would she want to harm her friend because of me? Besides I never told her Annette’s my girlfriend, so why would she launch an attack on her?”

    Timi became dazed and confused, she never knew Cynthia and Annette were friends, and she never told her who the person they would be attacking is

    Ohh Jesus, problem
    How would she handle this now? How?

    Fred just stared at her in hate, she turned searching for what more to say, and she saw her
    What!
    Yes, it was Cynthia, she saw Cynthia coming towards them, and then she knew she was doomed

He has never refused me anything until now. I really want to know what kind of spell you casted on him? What were you doing in his balcony yesterday….

    I looked away, as I wondered why Mr Desmond decided to displease her this time.
    I never even knew that she has been pestering him to fire me but luck has not been on her side.

    I held my cheeks as the pain sucked through me.

    “Why I’m not going to return back this slap in double is only because of Mr Desmond… and probably for some little re-served respect I still have for you. Try not to blow this little chance next time.

    I said while massaging my cheek which hurt like fire.

    “I really don’t blame you…I thought you were going to be useful to me which was why I employed you. I wanted to make your life better. I had all the connection that can transform you.. but you blow your chances. I love my husband for your information and has never cheated on him…

    I breathed deeply because this was not the confession I needed.

    I just wanted her to admit her affair with Silas.

    I don’t understand why she is beating around the bush.

    She laughed sarcastically before saying.

He was only my husband’s therapist and ever since his service is no longer needed he concentrated on other important things. I employed you…I suppose to have a say when it comes to you staying or leaving but my husband seems to be against that. Now, you are not only insulting me but you are also lying against me.     I was dumb founded because this wasn’t how I planned this whole thing.

    Something was definitely wrong.

    “When exactly did you start loving Mr Desmond? Is it when you asked Silas to keep on injecting him with deadly drugs or when you went about sleeping with Silas in your supposed matrimonial be….

    She interrupted me with another slap.
    Harder than the first, I staggered back and my recoding gadget fell off
    I quickly picked it up and realized that as it fell to the ground it automatically switched off.

    She probably thought it was just my phone.
    I was boiling with anger not only because of the second slap from her but more because all the whole slap was in vain.

    It pained me to the bone marrow that my recording game is not going as planned.
    And with that anger, I decided not to let her get away with the second slap.

    I rose up with so much vexation and raised my hand to strike her right back but a voice behind me stopped me.

    My hand hanged in the air for some seconds before I finally brought it down.
    It was Mr Desmond, he was walking down and was just few feet away.
    I didn’t even notice him at first until he spoke, stopping me midway.

    “Oh…oh my God. She wants to slap me. Can you imagine that the wretched girl I took as a friend and employed her to be taking care of my darling husband in my absence raise her filthy hand to hit me..oh my gosh! I can’t believe this. Darling… did you see that? I told you that she was not exactly what she appears to be. I begged you to fire her but you bluntly refused. You told me that you don’t have any reason to do so because she is a “sweet” being. How sweet is she now because I have enough recording of her lies and accusations that will shock you. you really need to see the way Kay-se was accusing me of different things I have never thought of in my life. The recording I have of her will certainly shock you.

    I was indeed dumb founded when she brought out her own recording gadget which was hidden inside of the clothes she was putting on.

    I looked from Mr Desmond who was silently listening to his wife and looking so troubled back to Erin, she was busy running her mouth to make sure she spoil my name and turn Mr Desmond heart against me.

    She quickly played the recoding, she didn’t start from the beginning.

    “, This is exactly what I’m talking about darling. Did you hear all the accusations. Imagine the rudeness in her voice. I couldn’t take all of that anymore, I angrily slapped her and she almost slapped me back. You wanted prove before you fire her…. now you have it.     I tried to defend myself.

    “I’m not lying. Everything I said is true. Your wife is not really who she claims she is sir. You have to believe me because you are between the blue sea and the devil. you are surrendered by danger. I’m only afraid for your life. Mrs Desmond is having affair with doctor Silas and she has been threatening me. I can’t prove it but is not an accusation. Is the gospel truth…

    She suddenly started sobbing. She moved closer to her husband and went straight into his arms.

    While Desmond was looking away, she looked straight at me and stick out her tongue.

    As Mr Desmond was about looking she increased her pretentious cry.

    “Darling… can you hear her? Did you hear how she accuses me right to your hearing. I have been your wife for years before she was employed. I was there all through the period you suffered on that wheelchair. I have always been there for you. My reasons for not changing Silas is simply because I thought he was the best. All i wanted was only the best for you darlin. I love you so very much… and can never look at another man twice. You are the best thing that have ever happened to me… This is why it hurts me deeply to hear all this lies and accusations.

    She started sobbing even louder.

    Mr Desmond began stroking her hair.

    I tried saying something but I was surprisingly shun by Mr Desmond.

    “Enough… that’s enough Kay. I won’t condole any form of disrespect directed or indirected to my wife. I trusted you Kay and do not expect all this altercation. If you respect me then you supposed to respect my wife no matter what. I’m quiet surprise to hear all this outburst of anger from you and you even raised a hand to strike her. I can’t believe you will do such…I have never seen you as a violent person until now. Even if my wife offends you is either you come to me and let me know or better still tell Erin to her face. I’m sure she will apologise… not all this things I hear and see.
    Kay…I must say you really disappoint me…
    I watched Erin stick out her tongue again at me before rolling her eyes.

    This woman has really outsmarted me.
    How can I even defend myself in this present situation.

    I have no evidence to back up my claims.
    Mr Desmond obviously believed his wife over me and that makes him an easy prey to them.

    “Return back to your quarters. I will think of what I really want to do with you later. You have really hurt my wife’s feeling and I do not find that funny.

    I turned and started going back.

    I can hear Erin saying.

    “Thank you darling for believing me. I’m not only relieved I’m also glad that you are finally seeing things clearly now. Is high time to let her go.

    I returned back to my quarters with anger and disappointment sucking through me.

    If I have at least giving her little part of the slap I wouldn’t have been this angry but Erin did not have a taste of my hand.

    The recording part was even more annoying.

    Nothing went as planned.

    I was also angry that Mr Desmond believe his wife over me and even wrapped his arms around her while stroking her hair gently.

    Seeing such was very provocative.

    Upto I could have played it all differently.
    It did not occur to me that she was also looking for an evidence to send me packing from the house after her husband refused to fire me.

    My fate lies between Mr Desmond granting his wife’s wishes or letting me stay.
    we were gradually growing fun of each other, well…so i thought.

    I thought it was so until he took side with his wife and scolded me for looking out for him.

    Maybe is really time to start packing.
    I can’t babysit him forever. Is high time for him to start letting go of the kind of love he has for his wife.

    I’m angry at everything and everyone, including myself.

    Erin outsmarted me and that’s not a good thing at all.
