    I waited patiently for Kay at the cafeteria but he was taking too long to show up.

    I just hope he didn’t do something stupid.

    Kay is really getting outta control and am sure once mom finds out he’s gonna be in a serious shit.
    ” Hey barbie doll.” I heard his voice from behind.

    ” Great what took you so long?” I raised my eyebrow.

    ” Was just busy with some work.” He shrugged and sat down.

    ” Busy with some work in miss Turner’s office? Seriously ?” I frown deeply.

    Am not buying that shit.
    ” Yeah and what’s bad about that?” He asked.

    ” Everything Kay . I can’t believe you fucked that teacher of a excuse. ” I half yelled.

    ” Hey relax sissy it’s cool okay? ” He said Calmly.

    ” Don’t tell me to relax. I hate the fact that I’m always there to cover up your mess. ” I said angrily.

    ” And that’s why you’re my favorite sister. Let’s get to class okay? I love you. ” He blow me an invisible kiss before walking away.

    What sibling ever. I still think we should get a DNA test done.

    I left Kel at the cafeteria and walked towards the locker room Kimberly must be waiting for me.
    Am planning on dumping her ass as soon as possible.

    My phone started buzzing. I brought out to see who it was only to bump into some random newbie.

    ” Hey watch where you’re going.” I glared at her.

    She looked at me and smile. She tried walking past me but I pulled her back by the arm.

    ” How dare you try to walk away from me. Do you even know who I’m?” I raised my voice at her.
    ” You might wanna let go of my arm mister.” She said Calmly getting me more infuriated.

    ” You’ve got some serious nerves bitch! Apologize now or you gonna regret messing with me.” I roared angrily.

    She looked at my hand then back to my face. She still had that stupid smirk that I feel like wiping off.

    ” Last warning mister.” She said with a smile and released her arm from my grip.

    I tried holding her again only to receive a kick right at the forbidden zone.

    ” Bon appetit baby.” She Smirked evilly before walking away.
    What the heck!?! How dare she ?
    Ouch my d*ck hurts pretty bad damn.

    I managed to get on my feet and tried walking to somewhere where I can relax unfortunately for me Kel had watched the whole scenerio and even recorded everything.

    ” Omg this is Hilarious am dying here.” She held her tummy laughing like a dummy.

    ”You didn’t tell me you were coming back this early” Linda said to Dave

    ”Yeah, just finished earlier than I thought” Dave said and looked upstairs

    ”What are you looking at?” Linda aksed

    ”I thought I heard someone upstairs earlier” Dave said

    ”Nah.. It’s just me my dear” Linda said and both walked upstairs…

    **LINDA’S OFFICE – THE NEXT DAY**

    ”Good day Sir” Linda greeted as she entered the office of their Bar Manager

    ”Good day Linda, how are you?” He caringly asked dropping the pen he had in his hand

    ”How are you going on with what happened earlier Yesterday” He asked as Linda replied his first pleasantry

    ”Well Sir, I am working on it.. I think I have a clue on it Sir” Linda said and he gave more attention to her

    ”Go on, what do you have?” He asked Linda who starred at him

    ”Sir, I think I have a starting point” Linda said and he got more interested

    ”Please let it out.. I’m curious.. Everyone is on my neck Linda” He said

    ”Sir, it’s complicated.. But I’ll make it more understandable on one condition” Linda said and he starred at Linda in surprise

    ”What Condition?” He said and Linda smiled..

    THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE

    ”My Lady, placing a Girl in the midst of men like us in an electon haven’t been heard of” Chief Musa said to Lady Aisha who starred at the 6 Men Chief that came visiting her that morning

    ”My Lady, this will bring disrespect in our women..” Alhaji Muhammed said but Lady Aisha still said nothing as Chief Williams stood up

    ”My Lady, with all due respect, I won’t sit and watch you change a law that has been kept for a very long time now” Chief Williams said

    ”And who said it’s a law?” Lady Aisha asked boldly

    ”Show me where it is stated in the Constitution and I will immediately withdraw my words” Lady Aisha said and Chief Williams sat down in confusion

    ”Go on.. I’m waiting.. Any of you??” Lady Aisha said with a harsh voice standing up

    ”If this is all you have to tell me this early Morning, then I think you all have to use the door” Lady Aisha said and walked out

    ”Before I forget” She said turning around

    ”I am ready to die, because Friends and Foes are sitted here today.. You are free to Assassinate me just like you all did to my husband, Chief Wilson and the rest” Lady Aisha said

    ”Good day” She concluded and walked up the stairs

    ”And death will surely come to you” Chief Williams said with a low tone and angrily walked out followed by others

    THE COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE

    ”Good day Minister” The Commissioner greeted with a phone in his ears

    ”Good day.. How is things going about all this noise we are having” The Minister said

    ”Sir, seriously I am confused about all this” The Commissioner said

    ”Miss Cynthia refused all protection offered to her and the Lady Aisha is on my neck for her Protection.. I just don’t know what to do Sir” The Commissioner said

    ”On that, another one occured just yesterday which we all are aware of” He added

    ”Commissioner, Listen.. I am not in a restful position either.. I think it’s time for all of us to leave our seats, stop giving commands but make others follow our commands.. We all are into this.. All Patrol and search teams doubled with strict rules and severe punishment!!” The Minister said and hung up the call

    ”Sergent!!!” The Commissioner called out aloud dropping the phone

    ”Sir!” The Sergent replied running in immediately

    ”Get me my Uniform and my armours.. It’s time for a change” The Commissioner said and stood up..

    SPARTACUS LAIR

    (The Previous Night before Today)

    Spartacus laid Natasha comfortably on the bed looking at her as she slept deeply. He touched the bandage in her shoulders

    ”Thank God I didn’t loose you” Spartacus said

    ”I couldn’t have forgiven myself” Spartacus said and stood up

    ”Please wake up by Morning” He said with a low voice, Kissed Natasha on her fore head and left for his room.

    NATHASHA’S DREAM

    Flashes of bright light severed and constantly shone in her eyes as she walked around a building that seemed familia to her.. She walked up the stairs, hearing the voice of a man and a little girl. She walked closer towards the voice, coming to an open verander

    ”Emilia.” The man called touching the little girl of about 8 years old. Natasha stood and watched closely

    ”This represents our family” The Man said pointing at the stars above which Natasha peeped also to see

    ”That big one is me, followed by your Mother, Your Brother and You, being the smallest one” The Man said and Emilia smiled just then a little boy ran out

    ”Daddy..” He called out and the man carried him too

    ”Daniel.. I thought you were sleeping” The Man said and a woman walked out also, looking very beautiful

    ”Sleep?? Daniel is a cat.. He doesn’t sleep” She said and they all laughed hugging each other very tight..

    NATASHA’S DREAM CONTINUED

    Natasha watched them smiling with tears rolling down her eyes as she enjoyed the lovely view.. Suddenly, the light flashed in her eyes and she saw herself downstairs at the gate blood everywhere, she was surprised until she heard a voice

    ”Emilia!! Emilia” She heard the voice of the woman and she saw the man laying in blood.. Some Men were standing with guns shooting

    ”Dad!! Dad!:” The Little boy ran out immediately

    ”Daniel.. Run.. Run…” The man shouted with his last strenght, but before the little boy could run away a spark of gun shot hit his face.. He managed to run out through the flowers…

    ”Emilia.;” The Woman shouted but was shot immediately.. Emilia fell on her and she was shot also.

    ”Nooo..!!!!” Natasha shouted trying to run into the scene.. Just then the flash came on her eyes very bright and she screamed…

    *PRESENT**

    Natasha screamed rolling on the bed… She sreamed very loud the Spartacus ran in immediately holding her

    ”It’s alright.. It’s alright” Spartacus said immediately

    ”I’m here.. I’m here” He said and Natasha opened her eyes

    ”What happened?” Natasha asked

    ”Calm down” Spartacus said

    ”You are alright” Spartacus said and Natasha weakly looked at his face, she lifted her hands and touched the scar in his face recalling the gun shot on the little boy. Spartacus held her hand softly

    ”How do you feel now?” Spartacus asked

    ”Better” Natasha said touching the bandage in her hands

    ”Did we save her?” Natasha asked

    ”Yes you did” Spartacus said giving all credits to her and she smiled trying to sit up and Spartacus helped her

    ”Iall get you some tea” Spartacus said and left and Natasha looked at him as he left

    ”Daniel… Emilia….” She said to herself remembering her dream…

    CHIEF WILLIAM’S RESIDENCE

    ”This is Danga known as the Dragon” Prof. Michael said to Chief Williams pointing at a dark man sitting on the couch opposite him with dark glasses in his eyes. Chief Williams looked at him but Danga didn’t move his body

    ”Is he dumb or what” Chief Williams asked

    ”He doesn’t talk much” Prof. Michael replied

    ”I see..;” Chief Williams said

    ”I don’t have much time to waste” Danga said and Prof. Michael looked at Chief Williams. Chief Williams brought out the picture of Lady Aisha, Cynthia and Spartacus. Danga collected the pictures and looked at them, he slided Lady Aisha’s, Cynthia’s and got to Spartacus own then stood up immediately

    ”What???!!” He exclaimed

    ”What is it?” They asked together

    ”I can’t forget this mask” Danga said to himself

    ”Spartacus” He called the name

    ”How did you know him?” Chief Williams asked

    ”That is nothing to tell about Chief.. How much are you paying” Danga asked

    ”3 Million dollars.. One Million each” Chief Williams said

    ”What am I assassinating?? A little kid?” Danga asked

    ”Give me short of that and I will eliminate the United States President.. Do you know who this masky man is?” Danga asked

    ”Are you going with 3 Million dollars or not!!” Chief Williams said

    ”I will take my leave” Danga said and tried to leave but Prof. Michael held him looking at Chief Williams

    ”Alright.. How much do you need?” Chief Williams asked

    ”5 Million dollars.. No bargaining” Danga said and Chief Williams exclaimed

    ”Are we in?” Danga asked

    ”Alright then.. But I think you will need a hand, my men are available” Chief Williams said

    ”I don’t need any brat as my colleague.. I work alone” Danga said and left..

    ”What the hell… You brought in another devil Spartacus to me?” Chief Williams asked and Prof. Michael smiled

    ”Spartacus doom, I guess..” Prof. Michael said

    ”Well Chief, Sit down and wait for results.. In no distant time” Prof. Michael said and walked out.

    ”Alright then.. Let’s sit and watch.;” Chief Williams said and Amaka his maid walked out to him since Mrs. Williams was not around

    ”I felt you were lonely Sir” Amaka said And Chief Williams smiled..

    We all turned and looked at each other in shock.

    What?

    “You…need your own separate room?” Mum asked.

    “Yes mum. Please” she pleaded.

    “But why, Anna? I mean, we’ve shared the same room since we were sisters. Why the sudden changes?” Esther asked, confused.

    “Anna, is there something wrong?” I also asked.

    “Please guys; don’t take it the wrong way. I’m fine, okay? I…I just need some space” she said tiredly.

    “Some space away from us?” Renee asked.

    “What’s wrong?”

    “Girls!” Mum cut in and we all turned to look at her.

    “I think we should all give her a break. Maybe, she-she has her personal reasons. And perhaps, in time, she’ll come back to you guys. But for now, let’s just give her a break”.

    It was stunning and neither of us could say any other thing to each other – not immediately.

    “Fine! If that’s what she wants” Renee rolled her eyes and sat on her bed.

    “Come with me, Annabel. I’ll show you to your new room” mum said to her and she smiled and stood up immediately.

    “Thank you, mom” she replied and left the room with mum.

    “What the heck was that? Is Annabel trying to avoid us or something?” Esther asked angrily.

    “I also don’t get what’s wrong. We’ve been sharing rooms since we were kids” Renee also faciled.

    “Well…I guess there’s a first time for everything” I replied with a shrug.

    Next_morning.

           
    I knocked softly on the door for quite sometime before getting a reply.

    “Come in  her dizzy voice replied and I pushed the door open and found her lying on the bed, curled up in the blankets.

    “I can’t believe you’re still asleep, Annabel” I chuckled as I went to sit on the edge of the bed.

    “Well, dearie. I’m so tired”. She yawned and rolled on the bed.

    “Well, wake up, sleepy head. You can’t be sleeping at this time”.

    “Of course!” She suddenly said and sat up.
    “I don’t need anyone to tell me that. Today’s a great day for me” she said excitedly and smiled.

    “A great day?” I repeated, surprised.

    “Do you have any plans?”

    She laughed and yawned again.

    “No darling. I’m just talking about school”. She replied and I scoffed.

    “School has always been boring for you. So, how come it’s now a great day for you?” I asked with a playful grin and she laughed again.

    “Anyway, breakfast is ready. So, come on; let’s go downstairs”.

    “Of course!” She replied happily and jumped down from the bed.

    I paused and shut her a stare. Since when has shy Annabel become this playful?

    I chuckled and shook my head and we left the room together.

    We walked downstairs to the dining and met everyone there, already eating.

    “Hi, mum. Good morning dad” she greeted buoyantly and gave them a peck.

    “Good morning, baby” daddy replied.

    “Awwn. My angel is looking all healthy today” mum stated and returned the peck.
    She giggled and took a seat next to Esther while I also took mine.

    “How was your night, Annabel?” Renee asked, forking a plantain.

    “Ah! It was the best” She replied cheerfully.

    “So, what are we having for breakfast?” She asked and looked down at the foods on the table.

    She took a plate and spoon and started dishing out what she wanted.

    She put in some noodles, plantains and vegetables.

    Huh?

    We watched in surprise as she settled comfortably and began eating from her plate, attacking the noodles first.

    “Annabel?” I called in surprise and she looked at me, mouthful.

    “You…now eat vegetables?” I asked and she scoffed.

    “What are you talking about? They’ve always been my favorites” she replied and took in more of it.

    “Your favorites?” Esther pondered.
    “When on earth has vegetables been your favorites? You’ve always detested them”.

    “Really? Are you kidding me?” She stopped eating and asked.

    “Well, the truth is,I’ve always been pretending. Vegetables have always been my favorites” she replied and continued eating.

    My sisters and I looked at each other and scoffed.
    This girl never seizes to amaze us.

    After a while, we were done with breakfast and all hurried upstairs to get ready to leave.

    Since Annabel was now having her own room, she had to dress up separately while the rest of my sisters and I dressed up in our room.

    “Has anyone noticed a little change in Annabel?” Renee asked as we applied make up to our faces.
    I was almost done with mine.

    “Yeah – actually.” Esther replied.

    “She’s now a little-less shy” Renee said and I laughed.

    “Well, its a good thing, right? We’ve always wanted her to be bold” I chipped in and they shrugged.

    “Come on, girls. We’re running late. Lets go” I stood up with my bag and said and in a short time, they were all through with their make ups and we left the room together.

    Annabel’s room was on the same line with ours. So, when we got outside, we checked to see if we’d see her coming out from her room.

    And when we checked, we did see someone coming out of her room. But the question was – Is that Annabel?

    Our mouths dropped open in shock as we stared at the lady who cat walked towards us.

    She was putting on a crazy jeans nicker and a crop top which had her tummy exposed.

    She parked her hair into two – different from the way she normally did. Unlike her who hated Make up, she was putting on a heavy make up this time around.

    She looked totally – different.

    Was that Annabel?

    “Anna…Annabel?” Esther stuttered her name as she got to where we were.

    “Oh, girls! I really need to go for shopping. You wouldn’t believe how many hours it took me to find this one suitable dress” she grouse, not minding the astonished looks on our faces.

    “Annabel, you…” Renee tried talking but couldn’t.

    “Hold on; why are you girls staring at me like that?” She scoffed, placing her hand on her waist.

    We still kept mute.

    “Anyway, it’s getting late. So, let’s go. Today’s a special day for me” she smiled and clumped down the stairs, leaving us gobsmacked as we watched her like a movie.

    What the hell?

    “Now, I ask again,” Renee said, still looking down at the stairs.
    “Has anyone noticed a little difference in Annabel?”

    After the discussion with mom and dad , I couldn’t wait for Amelia to come back so I went back to the beach to look for her.

    I got there and she was with her friends, she saw me and throw her eyes away. Liza walked up to me surprised that I returned.

    Why are you here? She questioned.

    Can you tell Amelia to meet me at the back of the eatery? I requested ignoring her question.

    Are you sure about that?

    Yea I’m sure Liza , thanks for everything anyways I won’t be needing your help anymore, I added and she starred at me surprised.

    Are you sure you are alright?she asked again and I frowned.

    Tell her to meet me now ,it’s urgent  , I replied and left.

    I went to the back of the eatery and waited. People weren’t hardly go there so I figured out it’s the best place to meet her.

    I waited a few more minutes and saw her dragging her legs towards me with her hands at akimbo.

    She got to where I was and didn’t look at me.

    What do you want? She asked coldly but I kept mute course I suddenly started recalling something from the past.

    Jason what do you want? Aren’t you supposed to be home? She asked again and I hugged her to her surprise.

    I’m sorry,I apologized cutting her off from what she wanted to  say.

    Why?

    For my recent behaviours , I’m so sorry, I apologized again hugging her tightly.

    She disengaged after a while with a confused and and touched my fore head.

    I think you’re running a fever, she said looking worried.

    Really? I asked also touching my fore head.

    From now on Amelia, you won’t be left out in whatsoever I’m doing okay? I said and she nodded smiling.

    And there is one more thing I want so badly from you , I added.

    And what’s that? She asked giggling.

    A kiss, I replied and she frowned.

    Come on J ,be more serious alright, she replied.

    I’m serious, I replied and she pulled herself away from me.

    Quite joking J, you no its not possible we are…

    Not siblings, I replied before she could complete her statement.

    Her eyes widened and she looked at me.

    Seriously? How?

    Before I tell you anything honey , I want a kiss first , I replied and pulled her to me again but she kept blinking her eyes.

    Will you close it? I said jokingly and she smiled.

    J…. She was about to say but I kissed her but the surprising thing is that she reciprocated almost immediately and it lasted for a while.

    I explained everything to her after a while . she was sad because she’s not dad and mom’s real daughter but she was happy she had us as a family.

    She broke up with Jack after a while and we traveled to Los Angeles together to avoid question from people.

    Well I got to spend the rest of my life with Amelia not just as my sister but as something else I wanted.

    **CONTINUED FROM LAST EPISODE**

    …Spartacus ran back in to the Sitting room but couldn’t find Natasha on the couch anymore. The glass cup of water fell off his hand as he slowly walked towards the empty couch..

    ”Nath.. Nath” Spartacus called out with a bit loud voice.. He searched every part of the house but couldn’t find Nathasha.. His anger boiled but as tears flowed down his cheek..

    CYNTHIA’S RESIDENCE

    Cynthia walked into her house as Musa opened up the gate for her

    ”Aarhh.. Madam, thank God say you come back ooh.. I hear say bad thing happen for road today” Musa said immediately Cynthia stepped in and Cynthia looked at him

    ”Yeah.. Thank God.. As you can see, I’m fine” Cynthia said and kept on walking

    ”Erhmm.. But Madam” Musa said making Cynthia to stop

    ”Where is your car?” Musa asked

    ”Ohh… My Car” Cynthia began thinking of how to cover up

    ”It had a little problem so I left it with the Mechanic” Cynthia said and just them the sound of the Police Sirene was heard all around the building. A large number of Police Officers trooped in to the compound and Musa fearfully ran into his house. Just then, the commissioner walked in and saw Cynthia

    ”Thank God you are Ok” He said immediately he saw her

    ”What’s all this for Commissioner?” Cynthia asked

    ”The First Lady asked me to check on you and keep you safe due to the earlier curfew that erupted” The Commissioner said

    ”As you can see, I am fine.. So, thanks for caring” Cynthia said but before she could take a step forward, Lady Aisha barged in immediately and hugged her

    ”Ooh.. My dear, thank God you are alright” She said with her eyes filled in tears that couldn’t flow out

    ”Easy My Lady, I’m fine..” Cynthia said and disengaged the hug

    ”Your eyes are red Ma” Cynthia said looking into her eyes

    ”It’s nothing my dear.. Just thinking about you” Aisha said and looked at the Commissioner

    ”Thank you for answering to my call Commissioner, but your job has just began” Aisha said and dismissed the Commissioner

    ”My Dear…. I was really worried” Aisha began as she walked Cynthia into the house..

    SPARTACUS RESIDENCE

    Spartacus was really confused as he didn’t know if Natasha walked away due to her Pains or someone broke into the house and stole her away.. He ran up immediately and picked up his gun to run out in search of her although he doesn’t know where she is

    ”Where are you off to?” Linda asked making Spartacus shocked as he saw Linda sitting in the couch where Natasha laid earlier

    ”What are you doing here?” Spartacus asked

    ”What is that gun meant for?” Linda replied with a question but Spartacus didn’t reply her holding tight to the gun

    ”Well, I guess you have to start with me, because I took Nathasha to the hospital” Linda said and Spartacus rushed her holding he ron the neck

    ”What??!! You did what??!!” Spartacus barked choking Linda with red eyes

    ”Linda struggled for breathe hitting Spartacus’ hand but then, Spartacus left her, she started couching endlessly and gasping for air

    ”Do you know what you just did?” Spartacus asked

    ”You just sold her out to her death” Spartacus said

    ”If you want to know, the People after Cynthia are also after her!! Now you have made it so easy!” Spartacus barked hitting the wall

    ”And you think I am that stupid?” Linda asked with a weak voice and Spartacus looked at her. She stood up and walked towards the door

    ”Inform me when you want to see Natasha” Linda said and staggeringly walked out. Spartacus called out on her regretting his actions but Linda didn’t reply.

    CYNTHIA’S RESIDENCE

    ”My dear, are you still insisting on not having any Security in this house?” Aisha asked Cynthia as she looked around

    ”Don’t bother My Lady, I am definitely fine” Cynthia said. Aisha still persisted on it but Cynthia refused giving her False reasons..

    POLICE HQ

    ”What the hell do you mean that you didn’t get even one of them!” Commissioner of Police barked harshly, standing besides him was Alhaji Dantata whose anger on the Police and Army was unrated so he tried swallowing it by not talking

    ”Now, listen to me everyone of you, I give you one week!! One Week!! To get those urchins!! Or else!” Commissioner of Police threatened

    ”I will make sure I blow your heads off” Alhaji Dantata said completing the threat of the Commissioner and the Units left immediately doubling their patrol, search and activity..

    CHIEF WILLIAM’S RESIDENCE

    ”Idiots!!.. Fools!!” Chief Williams barked angrily hitting the tough looking men that stood in front of him

    ”You mean all of your useless selves couldn’t catch one man and a girl!!” Chief Williams barked further getting really furious

    ”Sorry Sir, the Police interfered” Sir Whyte Said

    ”And so what??!” Chief Williams attacked his statement immediately

    ”And where is Patronizer” Chief Williams asked trying to calm down but no one replied him

    ”Am I talking to stones!!” Chief Williams barked more angrily

    ”He and his crew died in the chase Sir” One of the thugs replied and Chief Williams slowly turned around

    ”What!!” He exclaimed and even Prof. Michael was shocked. Chief Williams sat down immediately and Prof. Michael stood up throwing a briefcase at them

    ”You all are dismissed” Prof. Michael said and they all left..

    Prof. Michael walked to and fro the Sitting room as Chief Williams starred at him because he hasn’t seen him that much worried

    ”What is it Prof??” Chief Williams asked and Prof. paused his to and fro movement

    ”I think it’s time to unleash the hidden dragon” Prof. Michael said and Chief Williams looked at him not understanding what he was saying….

    LINDA’S RESIDENCE

    ”How is she Doctor?” Linda asked the doctor who was checking on Natasha

    ”What did you say happened to her?” The Doctor asked

    ”She was shot on her way home due to what happened today” Linda replied

    ”Oh My.. So Sorry..” The Doctor said

    ”But you should have brought her to the hospital” The Doctor said

    ”Doctor, I was so confused, but all being the same, hope she is fine” Linda covered up

    ”Well, the bullet slightly got to her bones, but it’s going to heal with time. Thank God you called on time, she was almost gone” The Doctor said and Linda exhaled as the doctor packed up his bag

    ”She might sleep for some hours, don’t disturb her” The Doctor said

    ”Thank you very much Doctor” Linda said and escorted the doctor out. She looked at the doctor till he drove outside the gate.

    Just as she walked in, she saw Spartacus sitting on the couch

    ”Hope Iam not intruding?” Spartacus asked not looking at her. Linda ignored him and walked upstairs. As she got up the stairs, she saw Spartacus in front of her and she shivered but behaved as if she wasn’t

    ”What are you doing here??” Linda asked

    ”I thought you never wanted her treated” Linda asked further and side passed Spartacus but Sparatcus held her hand

    ”I… I…” Spartacus stammered as Linda turned and looked at his Masky face. Spartacus left her hand gently and unmasked his face making Linda see his face the second time

    ”I.. I.. I..aa.. I am Sorry” Spartacus forcefully voiced out and tears rolled down his eyes as he has never said that word for years. Linda couldn’t bear the tears flowing from his eyes and she unconciously hugged him

    ”The Scar, what caused it?” Linda asked

    ”It’s a long story” Spartacus said ans Linda sighed

    ”She is in the next room” Linda said and Spartacus looked at the door and they walked in

    ”She is just sleeping, in few hours she will be fine” Linda said but before Spartacus could say anything, the voice of Dave was heard from downstairs fancifully calling on Linda.. Linda looked at the door but before she could look back on the bed where Natasha was laying, she couldn’t find Natasha and Spartacus

    ”Hmmmm… Not Surprised” She said and shouted happily in reply to Dave’s call…

    ”There is a rough chase going on at the Abuja main Line Express way.. Everyone out of the way.. Out!!” The News caster exclaimed as choppers flew above the air

    ”Every vehicle out!! Now!!” The voice echoed from several choppers.. Police car Sirenes were heard all over the Place..

    Spartacus drove with a furious speed leaving great dust behind in every corner bending he made..

    The Pursuit went on and Whyte and his men saw that they can’t catch up on Spartacus in a straight race, so they separated themselves in three different ways.

    **SPARTACUS CAR**

    ”Ouch!! Arrh!!!” Natasha exclaimed in Pain

    ”Hang On..;” Spartacus said looking at her and increased his speed

    ”My God, let’s take her to the hospital” Cynthia said seeing the blood gushing out from her shoulder not evening wanting to know who they are

    ”We can’t risk that” Spartacus said

    ”Why??” Cynthia asked

    ”You’ll die if we do” Spartacus said

    ”I don’t care who dies or not!! Pull this car over.. She is dying!!!” Cynthia yelled and a chopper missile hit their car lifting the back side up

    ”Oh My God!!” Cynthia yelled but Spartacus held the Steering very tight

    ”What was that” Cynthia asked looking back

    ”That’s what I am talking about” Spartacus said and looked at Natasha..

    ”Can you drive??” He asked Cynthia

    ”Yes I can” Cynthia said

    ”How fast?” Spartacus asked

    ”I don’t know” Cynthia said but before she could relax on her reply, Spartacus left the steering and carried her to the driver’s seat immediately

    ”What??” Cynthia asked

    ”Drive as fast as you can” Spartacus said and placed Natasha’s head on his laps.

    Cynthia dragged up the gear immediately and zoomed off.. Bullets from the choppers and Police car hit their car unstoppingly..

    ”Watch out!!” Spartacus yelled at Cynthia looking forward

    ”I know” Cynthia said with her heart pounding heavily..

    A Police barricade was in front on them and Chief Williams men were in a hot close motion into them from behind. Cynthia pulled Over immediately and rolled the steering vigorously creating a great dust. Just then she dragged the gear backwards reversing the car in an opposit direction

    ”Heads down!!” She shouted as she bumped on the Police barricade with a great Speed.. The Police officers shot at them with a shout trying to stop them.. Seeing that they won’t stop, they entered their car and joined the chase..

    Chief Williams men saw that they can’t continue the chase, so they drew back..

    ”What the hell did you just do?” Sparatcus asked

    ”I drove” Cynthia said and drove ahead

    ”We are close in” Chief Williams men said driving in from their from

    ”Shoot!!” Patronizer yelled and they shot shattering the front screen of Spartacus car making Cynthia to scream holding the breaks immediately and Spartacus who already has removed the bullet from Natasha’s shoulder tied it up and stood..

    ”He pulled the seat which Cynthia was seating and the seat laid down making Cynthia to lie down

    ”What are you doing” Cynthia asked but Spartacus said nothing as the bulletes kept poping in.

    Spartacus managed and placed the car on a straight forward automatic drive and he picked up his bazuka gun.. Opened up the roof of the car and exploded the car of Patronizer. He drew back into the car immediately and reversed the steering as not to hit the exploded car

    ”Oh My God!!!” Cynthia yelled.. Natasha didn’t move her body as she couldn’t feel her strenght..

    While standing, Spartacus whinned the steering and drove into a narrow road but the Police kept up the chase… Keeping a steady speed, him and Cynthia exchanged Seat

    ”On your right in 30 Seconds” Spartacus said with a phone in his ear. Immediately he dropped the call.

    ”Her breathe is getting low” Cynthia said feeling the pulse of Natasha and Spartacus looked at Natasha not knowing what to said. His heart became heavy remembering the people he has lost since his birth. Tears rolled down his eyes

    ”You are crying” Cynthia said looking at him

    ”Open the door on the count of 3” Spartacus said not replying her last statement

    ”1,2,3….” Spartacus counted and Cynthia hurriedly opened the door. Spartacus sharpenly held the breaks as a black Range Rover sparts car stopped in front of them. The lady in the Range Rover Sports Car opened up the doors and Spartacus carried Natasha into the car.. The Police were gaining on them, but before they got close, they drove off in a hidden area that even the choppers couldn’t find them, then they joined the main express way loosing the chase…

    ”Everyone.. On deck.. On deck!!” The chopper said and every Police check point and Patrol were all active checking every car strictly

    ”Don’t let them get away….” The Voice from the chopper said again and everywhere was tight in Security…

    PRESIDENTIAL SUITE

    First Lady Aisha ran down the stair case with her phone in her hand dailing Cynthia’s number..

    ”My God!!.. It isn’t going through”

    ”Sergent!!” She yelled and three Police Officers ran in immediately

    ”What’s going on?” She asked as her mind wasn’t at rest although she has heard the news

    ”There is a mad chase Ma.. But the Police are on it Ma” They replied and Aisha dailled the Minister for defence number

    ”Alhaji… What am I hearing… Make sure you get to the edge of all this!!” Lady Aisha said

    ”My Lady.. We are..” Alhaji tried to reply but she hung up the call and dailled the Commissioner of Police number

    ”Mr Commissioner!!:” She called out aith a loud voice

    ”Shut Up and listen to me” She said before the Commissioner could exchange pleasantries with her

    ”I don’t care how hard it’s going to be.. But I give you few weeks to stop all this mess in my country!!! Or else!!!” She threatened and the Commissioner stammered in shock on the phone

    ”And again.. I want you to send a large squad of men to Late Vice President’s house and check on her immediately.. If anything happens to her, you are gone!!” Lady Aisha said and hung up the call immediately

    ”What are you looking at, you lazy bones!!!!” She yelled at the Officers standing in front of her

    ” Go out there and do your work!!” She yelled and ran up immediately

    ”Oh God, please nothing should happen to her” She prayed with a low voice and ran upstairs.. Getting up, she called back the Officers she chased away

    ”Come here!!” She said

    ”Get the car ready, we are moving out immediately” She said

    ”Is it the three of Us Ma” One of the sergents asked

    ”You Must be stupid to ask me that” Lady Aisha said and they kept quiet

    ****

    STILL ON THE ROAD

    Spartacus car drove on a normal speed with the lady driving the car

    ”Thank You” Spartacus said but the Lady didn’t reply rather she shook her head not want them to see her face.

    Just then they got to a Police check point. The Police waved them down and she slowly pulled the brakes

    ”Good Day Officers” She greeted the Officers

    ”Arrhh… Barrister” The Office close to her said

    ”Sergent.. I heard the news.. Please keep it tight” She said

    ”We surely will Ma..” The Officer said

    ”You can search my car also” She said but the Officer refused

    ”Hmmm.. Barrister.. You wan sue me to court for tresspassing?” The Officer said and they laughed as she drove out giving them some money and they hailed her.. As they drove past the check point, Spartacus and Cynthia raised their head up.

    ”Barrister, do I know you?” Cynthia asked

    ”No you don’t my dear” She replied and Cynthia tried looking at her face but she hid her face from the from mirror..

    ”Errhhmm.. I don’t know what to say” Cynthia began after a moment of silence

    ”I really thank you for saving my life” Cynthia added but no one seemed to be listening to her

    ”If you don’t mind, I will like to know the ones that saved me” Cynthia said

    ”I reveal myself to people who loves the life they live and not wanting to join the dead” Spartacus said

    ”What does that mean?” Cynthia asked

    ”I shouldn’t have done this, I made a mistake doing it because you already have decided to die” Spartacus said not looking at her

    ”Sorry, but I don’t understand” Cynthia said

    ”Please be plain in speech” She added and Spartacus removed the facial mask he wore and Cynthia was shocked

    ”I told you but you didn’t listen, now see what you have caused” Spartacus said pointing at Natasha who laid almost lifeless and Cynthia regretted all she has done

    ”Can’t we take her to the hospital?” Cynthia asked and the lady driving pulled over at her gate

    ”Get down” Spartacus said and Cynthia reluctantly alighted from the car not knowing what to say, seeing that some one is dying because of her..

    ”Don’t you think we should take her to the hospital?” Linda asked as they drove out from Cynthia’s gate

    ”This is a Casualty that can’t be handled, we can’t” Spartacus said and Linda exhaled understanding what Spartacus was talking about..

    **FEW MINUTES LATER**

    ”I really appreciate” Spartacus said

    ”Anytime… I think it’s time to turn a new aspect of my Barristership just like you did” Linda said smiling and Spartacus carried Natasha inside. Linda looked at Spartacus, even as Spartacus closed the gate, she still starred at the gate for some minutes before she drove out..

    ”I’m sorry I failed you” Spartacus said to Natasha laying her on the couch

    ”I’m sorry you won’t see the smile that will be on my face after all this is done” Spartacus said again and tears rolled down his eyes.. Just then, Natasha coughed weakly opening her eyes a little and Spartacus rushed her

    ”Spar.. Spar..” Natasha tried to say but she coughed with words hanging in her mouth.. Spartacus rushed to get water for her..

    “Austin! I have a secret to tell you”

    The voice was so husky; and Austin jerked instantly at such a familiar voice. It was his best friend- he looked straight into those puzzled eyes and could see that worry was written all over it.

    “What is it that you wish to share with me?”

    Austin friend looked around- gazing everywhere…. He could see that the vampires there won’t mind eavesdropping… But this was a secret with great endangerment. And he wasn’t ready to take chances- cause life is at stake…. A lot of it!

    So he dragged Austin to the inner court room; A room protected by magic- any discussion done in that room can’t be eavesdrop by a vampire outside the room.

    Kol created that room four years after he usurp power. He used that room as a meeting place and disclose highly confidential information to some high ranked vampires.

    “This place is magically protected from any from of eavesdropping” the vampire said

    “What is it that you want to share with me cause your suspense is killing me” Austin couldn’t hide is bemusement at such a precautionary measure.

    “-wait a minute…” Austin continued at the sight of a baby in his friend hand “isn’t that Sarah child?”

    “Yea, that is Alexander”

    “Oh! What a crazy love- you babysitting her child” Austin gave him a great guffaw

    “Austin! please be serious….there is a lot to this child than you can imagine”

    Austin laughter soon began to fade

    “What do you mean by a lot? And beside, where is Sarah? I thought you have a date planned out for the two of you this evening”

    “Yea! I pictured a perfect evening for the two of us- not until she said she was going to see Alex father”

    “What do you mean by Alex father?”

    “….the father of her child…”

    Austin had become so puzzled… He just couldn’t place it- Alex father was dead right before Alex was born… So a resurface back on the land of the living was something Austin didn’t understand.

    “I thought Sarah said Alex father was dead?” Austin said after a long thought

    “So I thought-” Austin friend said “…. and that is where the problem lies-“

    He was interrupted by a young lady who opened the door of the courtroom and majestically walk down to meet them.

    “Austin! Gerard needs you in his office now” the lady said

    “Oh! Father! I totally forgot… Tell him I will join him soon”

    “Okay-” the lady said as she made a turn “… But wait a minute- what are you guys doing in the courtroom”

    “And how is that a business of yours” Austin said, frowning.

    “-tell father, I will join him soon… So get the hell out!”

    The lady ran out of the court room. She was well aware of the Olsen temperament and how they react when they are angry.

    “So… You were saying something about problem?” Austin said, focusing his attention on his friend.

    “Austin what am about to tell you is a great secret that can lead to the death of the party involved”

    “Seriously- this whole thing is scaring me already” Austin gave him a pitiful look “just spit it out”

    “….Alex father is a werewolf-“

    “Were-what!” Austin exclaimed “Michael do you realize what you are saying? That is a very serious statement… And can bring about death!”

    “Sarah told me herself-“

    “So… You mean this baby is a -“

    “Yea, Alex is an hybrid!”

    Kol was boiling- his whole body system was in distress. He hadn’t felt like this in a very long time- voices echoing in his head, screaming and waiting to be unleashed. It was like the monster in him was afraid… But he wasn’t sure what he was afraid of- maybe Lex!

    He wasn’t ready to admit the fact that Lex was growing in strength everyday- increasing in might every seconds… Even faster than a regular vampire. His abilities were equal to the Olsen… And that feared Kol.

    Kol was very unrest after watching Lex wrestle with an ancient vampire… And beating his superior and norms to the prize. So he left the field signaling Austin and Michael along.

    It was like the two of them already understood what was happening.. They looked at each other with fear circulating their system. The secret they had buried had decided to stay awake….

    “I need Lex file right now!” Kol voice was beyond it usual self. He shouted as he settled on his chair with his eyes sparkling of anger.

    Michael ran to the archive and searched for Lex file. After minutes of ransacking, he saw the old file which was already very light and prone to be destroy easily. So he dashed back into Kol office holding the old file in his hand.

    Within a minute, the file was already in Kol possession. He checked everything without leaving a word behind.

    “Alexander Maslow…….” Kol said, dusting through the file from the beginning to the end.

    “Mother- Sarah Maslow….. Father- unknown…” Kol gave Austin a disgusting look.

    “Who the hell is his father?” Kol asked, with rage.

    “I don’t know, grandpa-“

    “What do you mean by you don’t know….!!!”

    Michael saw that this discussion was really going to dig up what he had buried. So he tries to cover up-

    “Sarah ran away from the penthouse- claiming she wanted to live with the humans…… Well, she was successful with her escape- but she came back after four years…..”

    Kol frowned. He thought of how a Vampire would run away from the penthouse and decided to live alone…. With the humans!

    “-when she came back to the penthouse, she wasn’t alone- she brought a baby along…”

    “And that baby was Lex?”

    “Yes… He was just a year and few weeks old when she brought him to the penthouse”

    “And nobody knows anything about his paternity?” Kol asked

    “Yes- no one knows anything about his paternity…. But our best guess was that- his father might be a human” Austin who just found his voice said.

    Michael and Austin gave each other a look that signifies… ‘Well done!’

    “It says here that Sarah is dead- how did she die?”

    “-from a werewolf bite”

    Kol tries to believe what Austin and Michael were saying… But something in him chose not to believe the story. An half human half vampire won’t possess that great strength Lex possesses. Kol knew that there was more to the story than what he just heard.

    “You both can leave…” Kol said after a long thought

    Michael sighed. At least Lex life is secured for now… But he wasn’t sure of later- so he have to warn Lex now…

    “I predicted this day many years back” Austin said dragging Michael inside the courtroom.

    Michael raised a brow- he didn’t understand what Austin meant by ‘I predicted this day many years back’

    “We should have killed him when he was a baby-“

    “What the f*ck!” Michael screamed, cutting Austin off.
    “You know that I can’t- he is Sarah son… My first-“

    “-first love… Blah blah blah blah…. Am sick and tired of hearing that word- first love!” Austin shun him

    “-Sarah is dead… She didn’t die yesterday- she died a long time ago…. Forget about her… Only if you wish to be piked!”

    “We can’t let Lex secret be known to the world- he will die!”

    “But what can we do? Nothing!” Austin said “his powers kept growing everyday- how is that our fault? We tried our best, Michael- what else could we do? Protecting him like an infant for years….. I think it’s time he learns how to protect himself”

    Michael agreed with Austin… It’s time for Lex to learn how to protect himself. Michael went to see Lex in the dormitory- he was already done with the pant of human blood. He could feel a strong gush of energy run through his veins. His strength had become triple- his vision doubled- his olfactory was sharper than any creature. He was now at his full strength…. At his peak!

    “Lex!” Michael called amidst vamps who were surrounding Lex.

    Lex turned with joy in his eyes. He had thought Michael was here to celebrate with him… But the look on Michael says otherwise.

    “What is wrong?” Lex said as he approached Michael “-you should be happy for me…. All your training didn’t go in vain”

    Michael gave him a disgusting smile… True! All his training hadn’t go in vain; but there is danger lurking in the shadows. Lex must be very careful because Kol will keep him under surveillance.

    “Am happy for you, lex…. But there is a problem”

    Lex ear lit instantly; he was ready to know what the problem was.

    “What is the problem, Michael?”

    Michael sighed and said “You!”

    Lex was very puzzled, and didn’t understand how he was the problem

    “You are the problem Alexander…..”

    “-but how?”

    “Your abilities- I want you to stop showing them in front of everyone… Expect me”

    Lex didn’t understand what was going on.. Why won’t he show his Powers? His strength?…. His Abilities!

    “Why?” That was the only word Lex could come up with.

    “- don’t you know? Your abilities are raising a lot of suspicion….. And that is very dangerous!”

    “I seriously don’t follow-“

    “Lex! Just stop showing your abilities in front of everyone….” Michael shouted, and Lex realize this is more serious than he had expected.

    “Will you do that for me?” Michael added

    Lex nod his head in agreement.
    What else could he say? Michael  was the one that raised him after the death of his mother. Michael was all he could call a parent- so seeing Michael this serious means there is a cannon on its way…. And that means trouble!

    Lex knew they were hiding something from him- but what it was is the question he kept asking himself.

    SAME TIME – LINDA’S RESIDENCE

    Linda was engulved with what she was reading from the book that she didn’t know when Dave walked in. Dave was surprised at how scattered the sitting room was as the content of Linda’s bag scattered all over the place. Dave looked at Linda and saw that her mind wasn’t with her at all

    ”What are you reading..” Dave asked and Linda looked up immediately, threw away the book in her hand and hurriedly hugged Dave

    ”Are you alright?? Did anything happen to you. Do you have any bad thoughts?” Linda asked these quiestions and more simultaneously and Dave was surprised

    ”Take it easy Sis, did I tell you that there is anything wrong with me?? You are the one I should be asking that question” Dave said and Linda looked around the Sitting room

    ”You mean I did all this?” lInda asked

    ”You didn’t know?” Dave relied with a question and the both starrd at each other..

    ****

    ”Babe, you really need to seek for the guide of the Police” Bella said to Cynthia as they sat in Cynthia’s sititng room with fruit juice in their hands

    ”What can they do?? They couldn’t even save my Parents from one man” Cynthia said

    ”Baby Girl, that was then, now they are doulbled even tripled.. I fear you live at risk ooh, even me now I’m shiverring for no one to come in here now and harm us ooh” Bella said

    ”I understand my dear, but I don’t think I need them, I am fine” Cynthia said

    ”If you no longer feel comfortable meeting me here in my house we can be meeting at the bar then” Cynthia said and just then Bella’s phone rang

    ”Excuse me” She seeked permission and brought out her phone, from the look of her face, Cynthia already know what she was going to say

    ”I got to go darling.. It’s an emergency” Bella said and Cynthia looked at her

    ”You really need to stop this your dirty job, you might hurt yourself one day” Cynthia adviced

    ”Your parents left a hell of Mansion for you Babe, but mine didn’t.. I have to survive Pretty angel. And again, you are missing the fun out there” Bella said and banged the door behind her which made Cynthia exhale heavily

    ”I really pity her but she wouldn’t listen” Cynthia said and went to pick up her own glass of juice when she heard a knock on the door. Her mind flew but returned at peace when she heard the voice of her gateman

    ”Madam, na Musa” Musa the gateman said and walked in

    ”Good afternoon Madam” He greeted and Cynthia paid attention to him

    ”Yes, Musa.. Is there any problem?” She asked and Musa stood at a pace

    ”Madam, since I come here to replace the other Musa wey die.. Madam, I no like the things wey I dey observe Madam” Musa said

    ”And what are you observing Musa?” Cynthia asked

    ”I no fit explain Madam but I go advice you make you carry money travel outside this country” Musa said

    ”And what will you be doing if I travel?” Cynthia asked

    ”Madam, I no care about myself, I just dey worry about you Madam.. Na beg I dey beg Madam, I no wan loose you Madam, you dey good to me and I no go like see bad thing do you Madam” Musa said and his words touched Cynthia

    ”It’s alright Musa, nothing will happen to me. God is by my side” Cynthia said and Musa nodded his head insatisfactorily

    ”But Mada…” Musaa tried to say but Cynthia interrupted

    ”It’s alright Musa, just pray to Allah for me” Cynthia said and Musa left Murmuring..

    ”Hmmmm..” Cynthia exhaled being short of words as she relaxed her back on the chair she was sitting on

    Bella who already rushed out to answer the phone call she got, entered a taxi and dropped by a well know bar in the city. She alighted from the taxi and walked majestically towards the gate of the bar. Before she could get to the gate of the bar, Sir Whyte, one of Chief Williams thugs held her

    ”My Boss wants to speak with you..” Sir whyte said and Bella starred at him

    ”What for?” She asked trying to snub him but Patronizer joined in and Bella respected the guns they had in their hands and followed them to one corner of the bar

    ”Take it easy with her” Prof. Michael said

    ”So sorry if they hurt you my dear” Chief Williams added with caps covering their faces

    ”What sort of nonsense is this?” Bella ranting her mouth trying to show how embarrasses she was

    ”It’s alright” Prof. Michael said

    ”You don’t know me and you don’t have to” He added

    ”I have a job for you” Prof. Michael said and lifted up his face looking deep into the eyes of Bella..

    THE NEXT DAY – NATIONAL CONFERENCE HALL

    A large highly incomprehensive noise was heard all over the place. Chiefs, Senators, Governors and men of great influence in the country were all seen in the Conference hall, Abuja murmuring and talking to each other in an unorganized manner. This lasted for some time but not until Lady Rukayat, the PA to the Late President stood up and made a loud hit on the table

    ”Minister, you shouldn’t be saying anything in this meeting and you know that” Chief Godwin interrupted Alhaji Dankaki

    ”And why should that be?” Alhaji asked

    ”What have you done since the death of our President. Absolutely nothing..!! It’s been over a month and some days now, but yet no clue about the rascal that has been doing all this let alone taking them behind bars!” Chief Godwin said

    ”I support you chief” Alhaji Maharaja said still pointing his words at Alhaji Dankaki

    ”Who knows, the killer might be with us here looking for the next person to kill.. I am no longer comfortable in this country with that killer still lurking around” He said and sat down

    ”And what do you expect me to do?? Kill myself or begin a juju work to find the killer?” Alhaji Dankaki asked rudely

    ”My men are into it tirelessly.. Day and Night, they have doubled their working time. They are trying their best and we all know that!” Alhaji Dankaki defended himself

    ”Well, I think doubling is not enough, triple it or even 5 times better than this.. This is leading us nowhere.. And we all know that we can’t trust anyone anymore till this case is brought to the Supreme court!” Lady Ifeoma added and Alhaji Dankaki ran out of words and sat down not saying anything.

    ”It’s alright everybody” First Lady Aisha said walking into the conference hall. Immediately, everybody stood up and greeted her. Chief Wlliams was shocked seeing her but he comported himself.

    ”Good day everyone” Lady Aisha greeted

    ”The death of my husband shouldn’t bring a cohesion in this place. I knew how united we all were before I left for the United states. Like I heard, others have been dying also before my husband” Lady Aisha began

    ”We shouldn’t sit here and battle ourselves, the Minister of Defence is doing his best. It is now left for all of Us join him in this plight” She added and looked around

    ”I am pleased still seeing you all again” She said and sat down

    ”Greeting my Lady” Everybody echoed

    ”We should move over to the main matter” Lady Rukayat said

    ”The Next election is in 3 weeks from now and we can’t give other countries the impression that we have no President, lest they wage war against us.. But on that we can’t commence the election in the Absence of Mr. President and the Vice President. What are we going to do about it” Lady Rukayat threw up the matter and immediately Lady Aisha stood up

    ”We don’t have to waste much time on this” She said

    ”According to the Constitution, after the President is his wife. Thank God I am still alive” She said

    ”The same constitution recommended the children of the President and Vice to take over if they are of age, but as we all know, I couldn’t bear a child for my Husband and that is why I invited Miss Cynthia Wilson” She said and Cynthia walked into the Conference hall to the surprise of Everyone. The Anger of Chief Williams boiled up immediately

    ”This is total nonsense!! Absolute Nonsense” Chief Williams said immediately with the support of some people

    ”How can a Lady be part of the election. Not even a well grown Lady but a Girl!!” Chief Williams asked angrily

    ”Kindly sit down Chief Williams” Lady Aisha said and Cynthia walked up to her

    ”The Constitution never spoke against women being Leaders, if it did, quote me wrong” Lady Aisha said with a Loud voice and everybody kept quiet

    ”Now, this is my conclusion with no allowed Objection” Lady Aisha said looked at everybody

         Annabel’s Pov:

    The laughters of my three sisters could clearly be heard from the sitting room as I climbed down the stairs to meet them.

    “Of course, I told you!” I heard Vanessa laughed.

    I was already smiling as I finished climbing the stairs and got to the sitting room.

    “Annabel!” Renee and Vanessa called the moment they spotted me.

    I didn’t say a word and went to take my seat alone where I could face the three of them.
    My diary was on my legs.

    “Hi” I finally said with a smile when I was seated.

    “We’ve been waiting for you. What have you been doing all alone in the room? You wouldn’t believe what Esther wrote in her diary” Renee said and laughed while I just smiled.

    “Don’t believe them Annabel” Esther said with an eye roll.

    “She said she kissed Owen yesterday” Vanessa said, looking into the diary in her hand.

    I gasped and cracked a bit.

    “Wow! Really? But I thought she was crushing on Victor?” I asked.

    “Listen to me, Annabel; it was an accident. I didn’t mean to kiss him okay?” She defended and I busted into laughter with the rest.

    “Anyway, I’m 25 years old. So, I think I’m ready for a kiss” she finally concluded with an eye roll.

    “Okay. You can have your diary back pretty darling. So, who’s next?” Vanessa asked as she gave Esther’s diary back to her.

    “Yup! I’m next” Renee replied happily and gave hers to Vanessa.

    That was something my sisters and I did every evening before going to bed.

    We’d sit and go through each other’s diaries

    Vanessa, being the oldest among us, always played the role of reading them.

    She opened Renee’s diary and smiled before going ahead to read the previous day’s incidence which was written in it.

    “I over heard Royce telling John I’d make a good wife” she finally got to the interesting part of the diary and paused to let everyone hum and giggle.

    “Wow! So, you heard your boyfriend saying you’lll make a good wife?” Esther asked, folding her hands.

    “Yes baby. And I’m pretty sure sooner than expected, he’ll be proposing to me” Renee replied and giggled happily.

    “Wow! Congrats, Renee” I said.

    “Awwn. Thanks love”.

    “Hold on; why exactly are you congratulating her? What if he was saying that in respect to the man who was going to get married to her?” Vanessa asked and Esther and I laughed.

    “You’re joking Vanessa. Royce loves me, okay? And I Can bet he’s willing to do anything to end up with me” Renee replied boastfully and we all laughed again.

    “Hmph. Look who’s being proud. Anyways, good luck with that. Besides, Royce is a nice guy” Vanessa said and Renee smiled excitedly.

    She continued reading the diary and when she was done, she returned it to her and turned to me.

    “Okay Annabel; you’re next” she said, stretching out her palm to me.

    “Is there any need for that? Nothing important happened yesterday” I replied as I handed the diary to her.

    “Yeah, you’re right. Annabel’s diary is damn too boring. When will you ever have a boyfriend?”  Esther teased and I laughed.

    Vanessa smiled and went ahead to open it.

    She read the boring part of it and finally got to the only place which seemed interesting to her.

    “Oh, my God! Leo bought you some ice cream?” She asked and everyone gasped.

    “Girls come on, please. We just met along the way and he offered to get me some” I said.

    “And…then he gave you a ride home” she added, Reading from the diary.

    “Oh, my! Finally, the last born of the house is about to have a boyfriend!” Esther exclaimed with laughter.

    “You guys are getting it all wrong. Leo and I are just mere friends” I said with a sigh.

    “Hm. Mere friends indeed. Anyway, let’s see how this mere friendship turns out” Vanessa smiled and gave the diary back to me.

    “Ohhh. When will mom and dad be back?” Renee grouse.

    “They aren’t running away, Renee. Stop acting like a kid” Vanessa chided and she rolled her eyes at her.

    “By the way, Hope you’ll be coming with us to the party, Annabel?” Esther asked and I shrugged.

    I…I don’t really know. I just don’t like the idea of…”

    “Come on Annabel. We’ve talked about this already. We all need to go to the party together to prove those ladies wrong” Vanessa chipped in.

    “Why don’t you want to go to the party anyway? Is it because it’s taking place close to a bushy area?” Esther asked and I scoffed.

    “Of course not. I…” I paused and sighed.
    “Fine! I’ll be there” I added and they cheered.

    “Yeah finally.”

    I smiled and stood up immediately.

    “I’ll be in the room, guys. Goodnight” I said as I turned around and headed for the stairs.

    “Huh? Come on Annabel. So soon?” Renee asked from behind.

    “Yeah. See you later” I replied and took the stairs.

    I smiled to myself as I walked into the big room and sat on my bed.

    There were three other beds in the room and those were for my three sisters.

    In case you’re wondering, we actually share the same room.

    Yeah – that’s how close we are.

    We share the same room and read each other’s diaries to prevent us from keeping secrets from each other.

    We were the only children of our wealthy lovely parents – four daughters..

    Mum had done everything in her power to have a male child but it all turned out abortive.

    Well, trust me when I say thi – she doesn’t have a single regret about it because the daughters she’s given birth to are worth more than a male child.

    You wouldn’t believe the joy and honor we’ve brought to her.

    We handle dad’s company pretty well. We’re always the talk of the city as most people admire us. We were unique.

    Well, that was just my temperament.

    Not long after, I heard my phone ringing and I checked and discovered it was Leo.

    I cleared my throat and sat up before picking the call.

    “Hi” I beamed on the phone.

    “Hey Annabel; wats up?” He asked in that sweet tone of his.

    “I’m fine…and you?” I replied, drawing invisible lines on the floor with my feet.

    “I’m good. I…thought you might be sleeping already” he said

    “No. About to, anyway”.

    A short silence stepped in.

    “Will you be coming for the party tomorrow?” He asked and I bit my lips.

    “Yeah. I think so” I replied.

    “Okay. Please do. I have something important to tell you over there” he said and my heart leapt.

    What?

    Oh God!

    “Um…of…of course. Sure. I’ll be there” I replied, trying to cloak my anxiety in the sound of my voice.

    “Okay then. Goodnight. Sweet dreams” he Stated and I flushed.

    “Same here. Goodnight” I replied with a broad smile and he ended the call.

    I covered my mouth with my palm and gasped.

    Leo has something to tell me at the party? Oh my! What could it be?

    I giggled to myself and fell on the bed, laying upwards.

    I suddenly felt so excited.

    I stared at the ceiling and imagined his cute masculine statue.
    He was a nice fellow, wasn’t he?

    Oh! What could he possibly want to tell me?

    Well, I guess I’d have to wait for the party then.
