Raquelia’s POVI yawned as I woke up, I looked around and got alerted, where am I? I looked beside me and saw Arthur sleeping with a lot of drips connected to different parts of his body. I smiled sadly and scoohed closer to him, his face was up and a breathing mask on his nose and mouth. Soft sobs escaped my mouth
‘You’ll be okay my love’ I assured him and held his hand, I closed my eyes and tried to connect with his spirit but it was really impossible, somehow I feel like Gwen is intentionally punishing me for my mistake. The door opened and Arthur’s mom and Jena walked in with the doctor, they looked bored of something, I smiled
Jinora‘So I thought I should just say hi to him nothing suspicious just a friendly hi to my ex but Nate got all jealous and blabbed about me wanting to leave him and run back to my ex is he crazy? Why will I do that? He’s just really annoying and obviously in his period right Mrs Arthur?’ She breathe out
‘Mm hm’‘Yea in his period, whatever’ Jena sighed
‘Doctor what about you?’
‘He’s just scared Miss but please be quiet now so you won’t wake them up and murder Arthur with your talk’ the doctor said coldly, she gasped
‘Hey you Mr White Coat, my voice can’t kill anyone’ she flared
‘You sure about that?’ A smaller voice asked sarcastically, who’s that?‘Of course I am’ Jinny snorted. ‘Anyways, doctor how did the test go? I’m not pregnant right? Because if I should be Jayden will render Nate impotent then fry me before my parents eat me’
‘You’re not pregnant Miss, please be quiet’ the doctor snapped
‘I’m just t….’‘One more word from you Jinora and I will rip out your vocal chord’ Jena snapped, she kept quiet. The doctor walked to Arthur and checked him, I kept my eyes shut
‘It’s still fascinating how his nerves and readings calmed downed the moment we put Miss Raquelia beside him, Jena how did you know it would work?’ He asked completely fascinated
‘If you have seen their love in action, you would understand’ she said nonchalantly‘What about my sister in-law? Why is she not waking up? It’s been four days already, is she pregnant?’ The small voice asked, Ashley
Wait four days!‘Ashley!’
‘Mom, I’m only making sense here’ Ashley said laughingly. ‘Who knows what Arthur do to her behind close doors and how she screams’ she continued laughingly and Arthur’s mom smacked her while Jinny and Jena laughed, I frowned, if I had done that before he wouldn’t be on this stupid but soft bed, are we still in a hospital?
I opened my eyes slowly like I was just waking up, they gasped
‘She’s awake!’An_hour_later
Jena explained to me how I slept off and didn’t wake up, she also said that after the operation, Arthur’s heart kept rising and falling so she suggested or rather insisted I be laid beside him in his fancy hospital room that looks like a bedroom
‘Ashley please leave my hair alone’ I pleaded, she kept touching my hair
‘But it’s so soft and smooth and smell so nice’ she said acknowledgedly as she stuffed her face into my hair. ‘I can eat it’
‘And it can electrify you’ Jena said jokingly but she was serious
‘I’ll take my chances’ she smiled
‘Ashley let go of her hair’ Anika, Arthur’s mom said seriously, Ashley sighed and let go of my hair‘Call me’ she whispered to my hair, I laughed. A man walked in and I could easily tell it was Arthur’s dad, the striking resemblance was there, only that he had his mom’s complexion and eyes
‘Honey’ Anika said excitedly, he stopped on his track and stared at her suspiciously. ‘What?’
‘You called me honey, what do you want this time?’
‘So because I called you a sweet name I want something?’ She asked frowningly, he scoffed
‘You have three seconds to say it or forget about it’ he said seriously
‘Okay I need to go see Becca, she just gave birth and you know this is her first baby so as her sister I need to be there for her’ she said sheepishly‘I knew it, you can go but I have to return to China too, what do we do about Arthur?’
‘I’m right here you know’ Kyle who have been quietly staring at Jena and Jinora said waving his hand
‘And me too’ his identical twin smiled too, he was seriously staring at Jinora, I chuckled
‘You can go, we’ll be here for him’ I assured them‘I won’t’ Ashley muttered
‘What did you say?’ His dad asked warningly‘I mean yay! I’ll be here too’ she said with fake enthusiasm, he smiled. The next few hours was spent with me laughing, gosh! Arthur’s family are so funny, his parents argue like every thirty minutes and Ashley spice things up, sometimes they would say
‘Arthur back me up here’ then hiss and mutter. ‘My back up is flexing his bed’As for Kyle, he wasn’t still used to seeing two Jena, he kept demanding that Jena dye her hair
‘How can your eyes and hair and everything be the same, my heart is the only means of identification I have, dye your hair’ he would say‘I love my hair like this, leave me alone’ she would snap back
‘I wish to cut mine but Jayden will kill me’ Jinny would add, it was funny, Jena and Jinny got along with Lyle easily, especially Jin who Lyle is obviously crushing on
I’m wondering how they can tell who is whoJin might be very loquacious but just like Jena, her unintentional charms on guys are still active, very active. I smiled to myself because she would certainly end up with Lyle, from day one I never liked Nate and I knew the relationship won’t last but Jin won’t hear it, in exactly six days from now, he would break up with her but by then she won’t care because Lyle’s name will be boldly sealed in her heart
Two_weeks_later
Jena’s POVI typed on my phone as I laid on Kyle’s bed, he was in the bathroom still washing his hands, don’t even know what he touched. I dropped my phone and sighed, Quelly was still glued to the hospital, she never leaves Arthur’s side, she cries a lot sometimes, as for Penny, after she tried to kill me twice and Quelly saved me, she disappeared, everyone thinks she’s missing but she only ran away from Quelly’s wrath
‘Hey’ Kyle called softly, I hummed. ‘Who are you chatting with?’ He picked up my phone and checked my chat, God! He has serious jealous issues ‘who’s Dathan?’ He asked jealously, I sighed
‘Some dude who wants to date me’
‘Did you tell him you have a boyfriend named Kyle McGee?’
‘Please read the chat and let it answer your question’ I wasn’t in the mood to talk, I don’t like how he suspect me every time, Quelly said it’s because he’s scared he’ll lose me, I am very beautiful and extremely attractive so anyone can try and snatch me but I’ve told him times without number that I’ve loved him for four years and it won’t stop now‘Who’s Kyle Darlington? So you have another Kyle in your life, one that will replace me’ he asked tearily, not again, I never knew that Kyle was a softie pretending to be hard, he gets hurt easily by any mean words I say, it began just after we started dating, cute but still

‘Well I’m not her, guys don’t snatch me, I snatch them’ I said seriously, he cackled‘You indeed do’ he smiled and pulled me down to the bed, he hovered over me, I rolled my eyes. ‘Do you know I love you very much’ he asked huskily with darken eyes
‘Yea you do but that won’t give you access to me yet so hands off’ I said smirkingly, he pouted
‘Jena I think it’s high time I weaken one part of your over confident’ he said with a lopsided smirk‘You know you can’t’ I said proudly, he chuckled
‘If there’s one thing I’m a professional at, it’s getting a woman laid when I choose to and as long as you are on my bed, you’re not going anywhere today until I have you begging me to fuck you’‘Ha!’ I laughed nervously, simulating bold confidence in myself in front of him is hard enough but if he tries anything, I would fall within a second, only his kiss is enough to wipe my brain
‘I’ve told you to stop fighting it, you’re delaying yourself’ Quelly said calmly
‘Quelly what are you doing in my head? Get out this instance’
‘Oh sorry, I was bored and decided to check on you and I like his dare because he’s about to find out how weak he can make you, I should tell him your weak point is the left side of your neck just below your ear… Oh he knows’ she laughed and stopped talking, I felt Kyle’s lip on my weak spot and my body got paralyzed

I opened my eyes slowly and winced at the pain of the light, I felt something squeeze my hand tightly, I could hear a voice squealing. I turned and saw a white haired girl, she’s beautiful but who is she?
‘Arthur can you hear me?’ She asked excitedly, even her voice was enchanting, I stared at her admirably. ‘Arthur?’ She removed the mask from my face and some other trash
‘I’m fine’ my voice came out weakly, she giggled and hugged me, I held her weakly
‘You got me scared you know’ she smiled. ‘My love I missed you’ love? What love? Is she my girlfriend? When did I have a Bae? I’m in love with that girl from the park so who’s this?
Wait! The eyes, the hair, the lips, it’s her! I moaned in pain when my brain vibrated
‘Are you okay? My love’ she panicked
‘Raquelia’ I whispered as her name popped up, I remember everything now, my Creamy. ‘My love’ I called back, she sighed with relief and touched my head, I don’t know what she did but I suddenly felt stronger, like I was never sick. ‘Penelope!’ I gasped out
‘I’ll deal with her once you’re hundred percent okay’ she said angrily but not to me, that last told me that she’s not what I think but I should be patient and let her tell me who she really isPatient my foot!
‘Raquelia please tell me, who really are you?’ I asked with a much stronger voice
‘Gwen’ she muttered and cursed under her breath. ‘I’ll tell you later’
‘Tell me now or consider us over’ I said sternly, she gasped
‘Arthur please don’t break up with me’ she pleaded with glassy eyes
‘Then Miss Raquelia Catania McGrath, if that’s your real name, tell me who or what you are because in case it didn’t register to you, I almost got killed because of you’ I said stridently, tears ran down her cheeks as she burst into tears, okay too harsh. ‘Okay I’m sorry, please don’t cry, I’m sorry’ I apologized and sat up‘I haven’t even told you and you already want to dump me’ she sobbed, what have I done?
‘I won’t, I promise’ I assured her
‘Take your bath and eat first, then I’ll tell you when you get home, not here AND YOU CAN’T BREAK UP WITH ME, I WONT LEAVE YOU, EVER!’ she shouted, I smiled
‘I know, we are stuck together’ I smiled and wiped her tears, my mind raced with thoughts

“Common baby, I’ll see you when I close from work ” he hang the call.
Bella stood surprised as she stood looking at Alvin who told her he was at work at a canteen with another lady.She work angrily to where he was chatting with the lady “I see, this is your new office right? ” she spoke loudly causing him to spring from his seat.
“Baby what are you doing here, I’m only trying to help her get a job “
“was that the reason you told me you’re at work? “
He scratched his head actually I’m not through for today, just wanna attend to her before going to my office. What are you doing around here? “
She breath a sigh of relief “I was driving when I saw your car that’s why I came in”
“Oh baby your so caring ” he gave her a warm hug
“It will not be enough for my care” she said teasingly, she pulled him closer for a short deep kiss not minding she was in a public.“I love you and don’t forget to come over when you are through ” she said without waiting for reply, she walk out .
(Bella’s pov)
I adjusted my seat belt and breathe heavily “thank goodness! ” it was none of my thoughts.
Initially when I saw his car parked in local canteen I thought it was stolen so I decided to stop and check in.I called him to know where he was I never knew he was not standing far from me.
The sight of the innocent girl got my heart shattered, I was confused and I don’t want to believe my thoughts. Alvin’s can never cheat on me no matter what he takes.The lady was really lucky that she ain’t one of the ladies who always seduce my man cause of his cute gentle face.
Anyway, I know my darling boyfriend loves me so much, I have all he wanted, I have a tiny waste and a curved buttocks, I have a full breast and I’m as cute as well.
I arrived home mum and dad were at home, I don’t like when dad is at home. He treat me like a teenager and scold me aggressively. Sometimes, mum have to tell him am no longer kid, she’ll side me in everything.
I greeted mum and dad without waiting for their response I move toward the stairs but dad called back my attention saying he wanna have a word with me.

“I want you to be a responsible girl and I don’t want anyone to play with your feelings. If I’m to make my decision, I must say I’m against your relationship with him. You don’t know anything about him and he’s got nothing to give you “I swallowed hard hearing my dad speaking against Alvin, I wanted to cry but I held back my tears and spoke up in a low tune “I love Alvin and he loves me also”
“I know you love him and I believe my little angel but he might turn out to be something else. You know black people are dangerous “
I was already burning in rage, I always have issues with Whitney when ever she say black people are dangerous, with my dad saying same things seems to be tough.I was lucky mum spoke up for me, she told dad plainly that, I’m old enough to take care of myself. Dad was not satisfied but her words saved me from his argument.
I walk to my room and undress myself, I find a casual wears. I waited for Alvin call or text but none was coming up, I became worried and decided to give him a call.Alvin always text me when he couldn’t call, I called him but he refused to answer my call. The thought of what happened earlier crushed my mind. I knew he was angry with the way I approached him.
Everyone could tell I was suspecting him when I asked him if that’s his new office. My worries grew, I need to calm him down I said to myself.
He speaks little but act much, he get angry easily. My night will be bad without seeing Alvin or his text.
I dress up immediately to go to his house but it was late already. I lied to my dad that, Whitney was ill and she asked me to come. I was smart enough by calling Whitney to inform her about my plans, dad asked me to spend the night with her making me to be delighted for spending the night with Alvin will make him forgive me.
I arrived Alvin, I tapped the door bell several times. It’s took him enough time to open the door. He was sweating profusely. -

Nora’s side of the story;
As narrated by Nora‘’officer please I just got here, just give us five minutes to talk’’ I quickly begged the officer who came to lead David away. Surprisingly the officer acknowledged my plea without any hesitation, giving David and I the opportunity to talk.
‘’so what exactly do you want me to do for you? Please don’t ask for the impossible’’ I quickly asked David who was too emotional to talk. He slowly composed himself, breathing deeply.
I really couldn’t help but weep in my heart as I saw how Cassandra turned a good looking, strong and well doing man like David into a shadow of himself..
I quickly looked away to avoid letting my emotions take control of me once again.
‘’ I have no other family or friend in this town but you. Chinedu is yet to return from Christmas but then even if he is to be in town there isn’t much he can do for me. I just need you to take charge of my home, shops and belongings. Please I do know that I’m asking too much but please help me.’’ He slowly begged, watching me with fear in his eyes. I swallowed hard as I breathed deeply. Of course my presence really meant that I was willing to help him but perhaps he was yet to realize it. He was yet to see how much I still cared about him even though I hate admitting it.
‘’so how about money, food etc, I know you will need lots of them?’’ I asked softly, searching him with my eyes. He quickly nodded, reaching forward to hold my hand strongly.
‘’I promise if I get out of this, you will see a new me. Please forgive me Nora for all I did in the past’’ he begged passionately while Val silently watched us keenly.
Yes few months ago when I was suffering from the pain of child birth, I had prayed for David to suffer. I had prayed for things to get difficult for him. I had prayed for him to suffer the same pain I felt when he abandoned me, but seeing him now in such a pitiable condition, I couldn’t help but realize that he wasn’t the only one suffering; I too was feeling the pain much more than him even though I was wearing a brave look.
No matter all he did to me, he is still the love of my life and the father of my child.
‘’I will be looking forward to see you tomorrow. Please your food, presence and moral support is what I need the most’’ he begged as the police officer slowly led him to the cell.
‘’I guess we should start going now. Let’s get out of here’’ Val quickly said, tapping my shoulder. I nodded In agreement and together we headed out of the police station.

My head was filled with several thoughts as Val and I headed towards my house. I really was considering how to mix the job of caring for my little baby and caring for David who was locked up at the same time. David badly needed food, my presence and perhaps money. Moreover the job of taking care of his apartment and shops which I was yet to know their conditions was equally on me. There wasn’t any doubt I had a lot in my hands.Few months ago, who would have known that I would end up playing the role of a wife to David in such circumstance?

‘’thanks for coming. You are really a very wonderful person. Not every woman will make this sacrifice’’ Val breathed, interrupting my thoughts. I smiled at him, breathing deeply.‘’I guess you don’t know my story with him?’’ I asked curiously, he smiled and shrugged.
‘’I know a little. David told me stuffs about you before the police arrested him’’ he answered.
‘’but what exactly is your relationship with him?. I thought I knew all his friends but I guess I’m wrong’’ I breathed curiously. He smiled, saying nothing.‘’anyway I’m sorry for being harsh on you earlier today. Seriously David did me a whole lot of wrongs. I made a mistake of getting pregnant for him, and he never for a moment stopped short of telling me that I wasn’t good enough for him. That really hurt my pride a lot. And when I finally managed to pull through on my own, he showed up after I gave birth to demand seeing his son. Tell me, what sort of love, could a man give a child he never wanted?’’. Seriously don’t be deceived by all he said at the police station. He merely said those words because he needed my help. David is very arrogant, selfish and ambitious’’ I opened up to Val who slowed down the car and stared at me curiously.
“” But why didn’t you fight for his love. Why did you allow the love of your life slip away so easily? Supposing you fought for him, perhaps he wouldn’t have been in this mess??”” he asked.‘’that’s a very strong question and I hope you are not trying to blame me for the mess David is now in?. Men are used to blaming we women for everything and I won’t be surprised if you are now indirectly blaming me for his plight’’ I muttered suspiciously, forcing him to shrug defensively.
‘’ Anyway let me answer your question; You see it really isn’t the first time I’m facing such a question and yes I never fought for David’s love because I never believed in forcing myself on any man would make him love me. Instead it could only lead to perpetual abuse and agony from his hands in the end’’ I said with a deep smile, leaving him to ponder over my words.———————————
I returned home to meet my sister and cousin angrily waiting for me. Of course they were very furious that I abandoned my son to attend to David.

‘’but what exactly is your relationship with him?. I thought I knew all his friends but I guess I’m wrong’’ I breathed curiously. He smiled, saying nothing.‘’anyway I’m sorry for being harsh on you earlier today. Seriously David did me a whole lot of wrongs. I made a mistake of getting pregnant for him, and he never for a moment stopped short of telling me that I wasn’t good enough for him. That really hurt my pride a lot. And when I finally managed to pull through on my own, he showed up after I gave birth to demand seeing his son. Tell me, what sort of love, could a man give a child he never wanted?’’. Seriously don’t be deceived by all he said at the police station. He merely said those words because he needed my help. David is very arrogant, selfish and ambitious’’ I opened up to Val who slowed down the car and stared at me curiously.
“” But why didn’t you fight for his love. Why did you allow the love of your life slip away so easily? Supposing you fought for him, perhaps he wouldn’t have been in this mess??”” he asked.‘’that’s a very strong question and I hope you are not trying to blame me for the mess David is now in?. Men are used to blaming we women for everything and I won’t be surprised if you are now indirectly blaming me for his plight’’ I muttered suspiciously, forcing him to shrug defensively.
‘’ Anyway let me answer your question; You see it really isn’t the first time I’m facing such a question and yes I never fought for David’s love because I never believed in forcing myself on any man would make him love me. Instead it could only lead to perpetual abuse and agony from his hands in the end’’ I said with a deep smile, leaving him to ponder over my words.———————————
I returned home to meet my sister and cousin angrily waiting for me. Of course they were very furious that I abandoned my son to attend to David.

Nora’s side of the story;
As narrated by NoraSeeing a young man who introduced himself as Val that fateful January afternoon, my mind quickly raced towards David. I instantly had the fear that he was in grave danger. And just like I feared, the young man brought some very bad news to me. He told me that David was being detained by the police, which really got me anxious but then what really got me very angry was the annoying request that I should follow him to the station to see David.
Of course I snapped. The request left me totally angry. I couldn’t believe David could have the guts to make such a request as if I was his wife or a part of his life after making it very clear in the past that I was nothing but a bug in his life. Yes he tried to make peace with me quite alright but then he equally made it very clear that he was doing it for the sake of my baby and not for me. I don’t think you need to be a woman to know how painful all his actions has been to me. Nevertheless I still did my part by referring him to my cousin for legal help, thinking he would let me be, instead he sent the young man who introduced himself as Val to come and fetch me the instant he got arrested.
David really deserved all that was happening to him. He equally didn’t deserve any help from me. He needed to feel how it hurts being without a partner in time of need. He badly needed to be taught a lesson that life isn’t all about him.
A part of me wanted him to suffer but then a greater part of me couldn’t just let me back away. My conscience wouldn’t let me be and as soon as Val left, I dropped my little baby in my sister’s care and headed to the police station to see David.
Yes I still was in love with him no matter how hard I tried to deny the feelings. I really couldn’t stay to watch him suffer even though he deserved every bit of a thing happening to him.
In no time, I found myself standing before Val and David at the poli8ce station. I was nervous as ever because I hated the police for no reason. One look at David showed me a man who lost everything. I saw a man who was scared of losing his life. I saw a man who was scared of the future before him. I saw hopelessness in his eyes. I badly felt like holding and caressing him tightly but instead i stood my ground and smiled softly as he quickly got up with a smile of relief, hugging me tightly.
Of course I knew the hug he gave me wasn’t out 0f love but possibly out of gratefulness.
‘’oh Nora, thank you’’ he breathed in my ear.——————————————————–
David’s point of view;
As narrated by DAVIDAs soon as I saw Val return to the police station without Nora, I instantly felt empty. Of course I knew she had no reason to pity my condition or show up, nevertheless I had hoped on her good nature, thinking she would be forced to come with Val out of sympathy; but on seeing Val all alone, I realized that I hoped too much.
I felt like crying that moment. I felt like turning back the hands of time. I felt like correcting all the mistakes I did in the past but then it was already too late to hope on anything. All the remained in me were the prayers in my heart. I prayed for Cassandra to show up from anywhere she was hiding. I definitely was scared of spending even a single night in the police cell.
As Val and I were talking, I just didn’t know what made me bring up my head which really had been down since he showed up without Nora. I couldn’t believe my eyes as they rested on Nora who was standing unannounced before us.
All I could mutter was ‘’oh Nora, thank you’’ as I quickly hugged her with great passion.———————–
However the joy of holding her in my arms was short-lived as an officer showed up that moment to take me to the cell.I couldn’t help but wonder if that was the last hug I was ever going to share with Nora.
‘’just be strong’’ Nora whispered in my ear and believe me, her voice never left my head after that moment.
‘’dear Lord don’t let him hang for something he didn’t do. Yes David could be nasty and bad but he isn’t a murderer or a kidnapper’’ I heard Nora softly pray for me as tears slowly dropped from my eyes.
