    Episode 14




    I stared at the window in shock, the black suv
    parked carefully and James was shouting at my
    parents that how could they do this to thier
    daughter .
    I looked at the car, praying that whoever came
    down from it was not Alberto. The door opened
    and my breathing stopped.
    I prayed harder, and then i saw the feet. It was
    in blue heels.
    I sighed.
    A woman came down, dressed in a black dress,
    and holding a blue bag that matched her shoe.
    She walked towards the house.
    “James come on, its not Alberto. Let’s get out of
    here.” I pulled James away from my mother.
    I turned to look at her and my dad. They were
    on the brink of tears. “Everything I’ve done, i
    did for you Eve. I hope you understand”
    “No! Everything you did to her was out of fear
    and selfishness. You are just trying to save your
    a-s and in the process putting your daughters
    life at risk in the hands of that monster” James
    answered for me.
    “And who are you, gentleman? How did my daughter know you?” My dad who had been quiet the
    whole time asked James.
    “I met him at the ball, two days ago. And he is
    helping me to get away from Alberto” I said,
    holding hands with James.
    “And his name is James?”
    “James Parker, lawyer at an international firm”
    Ja mes said proud of himself
    My dad seemed to be thinking for a bit and i
    raised my eyebrows for a bit.
    What was he thinking about?
    Does he know James?
    “Aren’t you the same James that was accused in the suicide of–”
    My dad could hardly finish his sentence when someone knocked.
    The door opened and a woman came in.
    “Mrs Chamberland!” My mom greeted.
    “Eve we gotta get out of here” James dragged
    me out.
    The woman looked at me and James.
    I looked at my parents one last time as James dragged me out of the house.
    “Eve! Eve! Get back here! Alberto is coming for
    you!” My mom shouted running after us.
    “You are making a big mistake!”
    “Get away from me mom, I’m leaving with James. Whether Alberto comes or not”
    She grabbed my hand, spun me around and
    gave me a resounding slap.
    “Never speak to me that way! I am your mother!
    And I care about you”
    “Leave me alone!” I shouted, struggling to get
    out of her grip.
    “No! You are going back to Alberto, he would be
    here soon!”
    James quickly came to my aid and pushed my mom away, causing her to fall and hit her head
    on the floor.
    “Come on Eve” James dragged me and pushed me into the car.
    I turned to look at my mom. She was unconscious, lying still on the floor. There was a little blood
    on the floor.
    James didnt have to push her that hard.
    He got into the car and i shouted “That was my
    mother you pushed like a sack of potatoes,
    She’s u nconscious!”
    James gripped the steerng in anger, fuming. But
    i kept shouting at him.
    Immediately he exploded. “Shut the f–k up!
    And stop whinning like the little b—h that you
    are!”
    To say i was beyond shocked was an understatm
    ent. I was terrified. James shouted me. He
    called me a b—h.
    I stared at him, tears falling from my eyes.
    He started the car, and we got to the road, i
    looked back at my house and my dad was
    running towards my mom unconscious body
    with thier visitor behind him.
    “You are so naive Eve. I thought Alberto taught
    you better than this” He laughed.
    What was happening? Was this James? Why was
    he acting so violent?
    “James? Why are you acting like this?” I asked.
    But James laughed louder. “Oh dear Eve, I’m
    going to have so much fun with you” He
    touched my cheeks, and i moved away from his
    touch.
    “Running away from me i see. Remember you
    were the one who made the decision to follow
    me” He smirked. “You are so foolish, how long
    have you known me? Two days or is it three?
    And you follow me like a little puppy”
    “James stop this madness, Please. I followed you
    to get away from Alberto. You know that”
    “Alberto?! Never mention that b—–d name close to me again” He grabbed my wrist, squeezing
    it tight.
    “James, let me go! Stop, youre hurting me!” I
    pleaded.
    “For years Ive been trying to get back at Alberto
    for the death of Jane and When i first saw you
    at that ball with Alberto. I knew exactly what to
    do” He laughed.
    “That was the best night of my life, Then i saw
    Alberto leave the party and i saw you going to
    grab a drink. I was happy all i needed to do was
    just dance with you and as stupid as you were,
    you fell under my spell. You fell for me Eve and
    i knew I had gotten Alberto most priced jewel”
    I cried, so all this had just been a plan to get
    back at Alberto? That wonderful dance, it had
    meant nothing to James? I was played. Fooled.
    Deceived.
    “Then i saw Alberto, i moved closer to you,
    drawing you closer to my body to get him angry
    and boy he fell for it. He came towards us and
    beat the hell out of me. I allowed it. So i wont
    appear as the bad guy in front of you”
    “Stop this! Its not true. You liked me. You fell for
    me too at that ball!” I screamed at him in tears.
    Yes. James liked me. He held me so well. He danced with me. He made me feel like a queen. He
    made me feel safe from the claws of Alberto.
    “Like you? Never! You were just a means of
    getting my revenge back at that b—–d”
    “No!No! Stop this!”
    “Oh sweet Eve. Then i landed at the hospital,
    thinking all hope of getting revenge was lost.
    But then, there you were. Calling my name. I
    was happy, I looked around to see if Alberto
    was there. But he wasnt. He left you once
    again”
    I remembered that day, i was so happy to see
    James. Thinking he was my saviour.
    “All i had to do was just convince you to come
    with me and then i had won. I knew you wont
    come out of fear so i told you about Jane. I
    twisted the story Eve”
    Suddenly I remembered when Alberto was trying
    to tell me, he said James was a liar. If only i had
    listened.
    “You see Jane loved Alberto, and he loved her
    too . But Alberto cant always get the good
    things, can he? No! So i started watching Jane
    just to annoy her at first but later i wanted her
    for myself. I wanted her to be mine”
    James laughed. “I needed her to love me too. I
    couldnt sleep without seeing her at least once. I
    needed to touch her, caress her. But she kept
    going back to that b—–d!” James shouted,
    gripping the wheel in anger, his knuckles
    growing white.
    I shifted a little in fear. This James was different
    from the one i knew. What had suddenly
    possessed him? Why was he acting this way?
    “Then i grew insane, i kidnapped her, i took
    Jane. D–n! I was pleased. I had her all to
    myself, her body was so sweet to touch, i
    touched her every where, she was mine.
    F—–g mine! Until that b—–d came , I could
    have killed him. I could have. But then Jane slit
    her throat. All because of him!! ” He shouted.
    And i jumped in fright, fear. I moved away.
    James was the real murderer here, not Alberto.
    He had drawn Jane to her early death, not
    Alberto. He had kidnapped her, not Alberto. He
    had done all evil things to her, not Alberto.
    I was lied to, and i believed.
    “Now I’m going to make him pay for all he did
    to me! He would pay for every pain he caused
    me. And i know how to cause him pain, i know
    how to make him sad. I know how to kill
    Alberto. Its you Eve. You are the source of
    Alberto’s pain. He loves you so much and he
    would do anything to get you” James laughed.
    “You think Alberto is a demon? No, Im the

    greater Demon Eve”

    Wednesday 10:00am Victoria Island, Oscar Video editing store Luke and God-Eye arrives at the store in search of Sarah as they got in the store and met a lady by a computer “Good morning miss” Luke said; God-Eye was busy observing the place as people were moving about their works and then he noticed a lady looking at them but pretended not to see her “Good morning sir, how may I help You?” she asked Luke “Please I am here to see Sarah Oscar” he said “That’s our chief Editor, do you have an appointment with her” “Yes we do” Luke said; God-Eye then watched as the lady quickly moved to a back door and exited place “Luke go to the front, she’s gone through the back door. I will follow her” God-Eye said and then Luke went out to the front and God-Eye went to the back, she thought both of them would follow her through the back so she can go to the front and escape but she was wrong. As she got to her car and opened the door to go in Luke grabbed her arm “hold on, where’re you going?” he asked and she became scared and tried to struggle her way out but couldn’t “hold on, am not here to hurt you” Luke said “there you are, you think you’re smart huh?” God-Eye said coming from the back “Who are you guys?” she asked ‘your life is in danger, we’re here to help you” Luke said “I don’t believe you guys” she said with fear as she looked at their faces “Some other men are coming here to kill you today but if you come with us, you are safe” God-Eye said “So you are coming with us” Luke said “ok I will” she said but wasn’t of that. They took her to their car and carried her to Zeus’s place They arrived at Zeus’s place ‘What place is this?” she asked “A safe place” God-Eye said; they entered the sitting room to meet Ade and Jameel “Ade where’s Zeus?” Luke asked “Am over here” Zeus said coming down the stairs “Is that Sarah Oscar” Zeus asked “Flesh and Blood” God-Eye said “She’s quite pretty” Zeus said “Who are you guys? Why have you brought me here? What do you want from me?” she asked “hey relax honey, one question at a time” Zeus said “Who are you people?” she asked “I am Zeus” “(Chuckles) so am I to bow to the greek god” she said mockingly “that’s Luke and God-Eye and this is Ade and Jameel” Zeus said “Why am I here?” she asked “I need you to be here” “And what do you want from me?” she asked “you have something I want” he said with a straight face “And what could that be?” “The video record of Dr. Jason Heineken’s murder” Zeus said and she was silent “I don’t know what you’re talking about” she said “Look, I hate lies and I don’t have time for one” he said “I don’t know what you are talking about” she said “Come on dear, don’t make this hard” Zeus said “I know the president sent you guys, so you can kill me because I am not giving you anything” she said “I like your guts but the president is not our alley” “I am not handing anything” “I am the first son of Dr. Jason Heineken and this is my sister Jameel and Ade my brother” Zeus said and she was speechless “But Dr. Jason’s son is in Abu Dhabi” “That was 5years ago; I have been in the country for 5years now and I have taken my time to plan our the killing of everyone associated with my father’s murder” he said “I knew it” she said loudly “What” “When I went through the video again I then noticed that everyone there was dead except two persons” “I have a list of all the men present there and the last person on the list is the president of Nigeria” “But what about Saheed Ganiu, the minister of information” she asked “He was not on the list” Zeus said “He was on the video and he supported the killing” she said “Then he must be killed” “Ade do a quick research on Saheed Ganiu” Zeus said and ade left “Where’s the Video” Zeus asked “I’ll send you a copy” she said “How many copies do you have” Zeus asked “10” ‘I want you to make more” “And who’s paying” she asked “I will” “Ok how many” she asked “Countless numbers” he said “why do you need so much?” she asked “I have plans” he said “take her to her home; I will keep in contact with you” Zeus said and they left “Zeus I have something about Saheed” “He lives in Abuja, he’s the present Minister of Information and looks like he’s a friend to the president” “Prepare a profile about him immediately, Hades will take care of him” “Alright”…

    Blood – Episode 20

    Two days later… As Luke drove to the gate of Zeus’s compound he saw 7 articulated Lorries parked outside the compound, he drove into the compound and parked his car then went into the house where he met Zeus discussing with two men, he walked to Zeus and Zeus introduced him to the men and told him that they were hired to drive those trucks into town and that he had also hired some ladies who would go into town with them to distribute the items in the lorries. And after some time they left and Luke asked Zeus what was in the trucks “The seven lorries are carrying different items like bags, phones, bags of rice, electronics, kitchen utensils. Toys and drinks” “It’s a good thing to give out like this” “Yes and we need the people in our favor so as to bring down the present government” “I smell revolution” Luke said “Your sense of smell is fully active” “I have waited for the moment when someone rise up against this corrupt thieves and stand against the plutocratic government and bring real change to the people” “That time is now Luke… that time is now” Zeus said smiling… Two Days Later… As Luke arrived at Zeus’s house Ade informed him that Zeus was out to meet some persons to discuss creating a political party “So what are up to?” Luke asked Ade “Nothing much, am just doing studies” “Come on give yourself a break and do something else; go have fun” “There is no time for fun and besides I have more information on Saheed Ganiu” “Tell me” Luke said “He has a Swiss account” Ade said “Good, how much is in it?” “Approximately 400 million dollars” “God damn” “Guess what?” “What” “I can hack into the account and get the money” Ade said “Good, so do it” “I can’t from Nigeria unless I go to Switzerland” “That’s not a problem?” Luke said “Yes, so I’m leaving for Switzerland tomorrow” “Good, does Zeus know?” “Yeah” “Alright, I need a drink” Luke said standing up and walked to the wine bar “I’ll be right back, let me round up something in my room” Ade said and went upstairs Luke sat by the bar and after about 5mins Jameel came down “Luke?” she called out and he was a little bit startled at the sound of her voice, he then turned to look at her “Jameel” he said and smiled as he dropped the glass on the table; she then walked to him and sat on a stool facing him “How are you?” she asked as she looked into his eyes with a little smile “i… I am fine” he couldn’t hold his gaze “What’s the problem?” she asked “Nothing” he replied and raised his head “You have been avoiding me for weeks now” “Nah” “We used to chat online but now you hardly come online and you even ignore my messages, when you come here you try your best as to avoid me” “Jameel please… you know why” he said “No I don’t” she said immediately “I don’t want Zeus to find out about this and besides we have been very busy lately doing thing together” “Things that are more important than your feelings” she asked and he was silent for 3secs “My feelings for you are very much important but so are other matters” he explained “I see” she said as she looked away “Please Jameel don’t put words into my mouth” Luke said “Everyone has the right to love, you better start realizing that before somebody else takes what belongs to you” she said and stood up and walked away “Jameel?” he called but walked away It then dawned on him that she was almost out of his life and he felt bad about it; he couldn’t stay anymore so he left…

    “I’m at your gate right now and the security man refused me in, I’m not leaving here until you come out and settle me. I know Olivia has gone back to her place.. for your information I also know where she lives and I may decide to pay her a good visit… maybe a deep talk about who Kaka really is…do the right thing to avoid many troubles, do something now that I’m here or I’m going over to visit your wife to be, she may even decides to give me double of what I’m asking you… she has one of the biggest supermarket that is well managed for her by her workers…Olivem. combination of her name and that of her daughter…I know everything Kane and I’m the last man you should be messing with..
    Wilson sent the test message to Kane and waited outside and without wasting time the security came outside and told Wilson that kane asked him to come inside and he immediately did.
    Kane stood and watch Wilson approach
    “What sort of test message is that Wilson…are you threatening me… now listen to me…I can joke with everything but never with Olivia and my daughter, stay far away from her and never you in your life threaten me except you want to go back to prison or dig your grave…you wouldn’t want that but I can make that happen if you ever throw such an expensive joke…here is half of the money you demanded… take it and disappear…I don’t want to see you here again…
    Wilson collected the money, but he will come back soon for more until he collects enough money from Kane.
    He quietly left without a word
    After another week he returned back and sent another test message to Kane who was not in the house then.
    Kane got the test and quickly deleted it.
    When Wilson started calling he bared his calls, which made Wilson not to be able to reach him
    The security informed Wilson that his boss wasn’t around.
    Wilson sat outside the gate to wait for his return
    He was still there when he saw Olivia driving down in her car with her daughter.
    Olivia was surprise to see Wilson sitting outside the gate all by himself.
    She stopped right in front of the gate as the security opened the gate for her to drive in.
    Wilson stood up on seeing her and she beckoned on him to enter inside and he quickly did.
    After Olivia drove in and parked she stepped down and walked up to Wilson after asking her daughter to go inside.
    “Why are you sitting outside the gate… what happened.. I’m so sorry. even if Kane is not around you should have come inside and wait for him…was it the security that asked you to remain outside… that’s not right… have you called Kane over the phone to let him know that you are here… I’m so sorry for the trouble of waiting outside the gate……
    “No…you shouldn’t be Sorry…I just decided on my own to wait outside for my friend…the security has no hand in it…since Kane is not around…I called him but his line is not available… sitting inside here all by myself will be boring so I decided to wait outside..
    Olivia took Wilson inside and offered him drinks and snacks which he accepted gladly and thanked Olivia.
    Olivia started the evening food quickly since Wilson was around so that he will get to eat something today.
    Emerald was upstairs in the room well decorated for her by her father, while watching a programme on her television, she was going to spend the weekend with her mum in Mr Kane’s house which was the name she calls Kane.
    He will officially become her dad once he marries her mum.
    Emerald looked forward to having Mr Kane as father, he was her mum’s hero and she likes him because he is always caring and gives her everything she wants.
    Olivia Later sat with Wilson in the living room as they watch television while the food Cook in the kitchen.
    She asked the housekeeper to keep an eye on the food while she sit to entertain Wilson who awaits Kane’s return.
    “How’s Olivem moving… how do you combine it with schooling, wedding preparations and your tight schedules…. asked Wilson as he focused on Olivia who wore a very attractive smile
    “Is going on fine, I manage my time very well that was why I employed able hands who I trust to give me good results and they have not disappointed me before, I’m rounding up with school don’t have much to do again… I’m trying to focuse on the wedding preparations… settling down with Kane is my dream come true…he is a good man, you know…so tell me…are you still relocating back to the state where you work or you are here to pitch your tent for good… how long have you and Kane be friends…he does not really mention you that was why I was surprise when he introduced you to me that day as his friend… tell me how long you two has been together…
    “Well, let me answer your questions one after the other, first of all i’m here to stay.. I’m not going back to my former place…so I’m pitching my tent here… to answer your second question…I have known Kane for a long time…Kaka use to be my close pal before I relocated to another stat…
    Olivia blinked several as she hard the name Kaka again. Every other thing that Wilson was saying she was not listening, she was very sure she heard the name clearer this time.
    Olivia without listening to anything Wilson was saying went into a deep thought. “Kane name has the Ka in it, why haven’t I thought of the Ka before now, but why… How is it possible for Kane to bear such evil nick name…he could have picked up a better nick name than Kaka, his friend just called him Kaka again and there’s no denying the fact that I hard it so clear…
    Olivia did not notice that Wilson has paused from what he was saying and was asking her if she was okay.
    when Olivia got herself she frowned before facing him
    “Wilson, please try not to lie to me this time…I heard you call Kane…Kaka. I hard it very clear, I’m not stupid like I was meant to believe the last time…why do you call Kane Kaka…why? I hate that name…if is a mistake please kindly try to avoid such… Kaka is not a good name for somebody like Kane, I know he has Ka in his name but doesn’t give anybody right to call him such name… let me make you understand something, Kaka was the man who brought disaster to my home, he destroyed my hopes and dreams… I’m an orphan today because of that evil name… God brought Kane to comfort me, he restored everything that Kaka took from me except my parents. Kaka is the unknown devil I intend to fight for the rest of my life while Kane is the angel I can’t live without…I hope you understand me Wilson…I don’t know why you called him such but please try not call him that again…I will really appreciate if you do so ..
    Wilson nodded before apologising to Olivia, he stood up and decided to leave. Olivia asked him to stay and wait for Kane to return but he refused and left immediately.
    Olivia couldn’t continue with the cooking as her mind keep wondering on the name she hard Wilson very clear, this will be making it the second time she was hearing such name.
    There must be more, something isn’t right.
    When Kane drove in that evening excitedly after seeing Olivia’s car parked, he already knew that she and Emerald will be spending the weekend over at his place. He bought lots of things for them.
    As he got in he saw Olivia sitting down, lost in her own thought.
    Emerald ran down to welcome him and that was when Olivia noticed his presence and greeted him with a frown plastered on her face, she later tried to smile but Kane knew that is not the real deep smile that Olivia has.
    He asked her if she was alright and she replied affirmatively.
    Kane refreshed for the night and came to sit with her.
    Olivia turned and looked at him deeply.
    she saw the scar on his face, she have never asked about the scar before because it wasn’t obvious but she was beginning to have questions for everything troubling her sanity.
    Kaka has a deep cut on his cheek which made blood to suck up on his facial mask, Kane has a scar on his cheek which he has never told her how he got it and she has never asked because she felt it wasn’t important until now.
    As Olivia stare at him, Kane misunderstood it for another thing and he bent over to kiss Olivia but she turned her face.
    Kane tried again but saw the coldness in Olivia’s eyes, he quickly spoke out.
    ” What is it honey, did I do something wrong… what is the problem, you have being acting all cold towards me ever since I came in…if I offended you in anyway or did something wrong why not tell me so that I can make it right, what is my offence… what is troubling you honey… please talk to me…I love you so very much and whatever troubles you also troubles me.. I’m never myself when you are not happy… please talk to me…
    “How did you get the scar on your face, we have never talked about that before… and what is really your nick name while growing up…we also haven’t talked about that too…
    Kane was surprised at the question, he has not expected such questions from Olivia, he wondered what brought about the question as he tried to answer Olivia
    “I don’t understand why you decided to ask all this today… you are getting me worried, what is the problem… what did i do wrong honey… please tell me
    Olivia was furious as Kane tries to dodge the question, she stood up for the first time and shout at Kane who was puzzled at whatever that was happening
    “Answer the d–n question Kane, if I’m going to be your wife then we need to be truthful to each other, do not hide anything from me, I’m open to you and I expected same thing in return Kane… I ask again…how did you get your facial scar and what is your nick name… what name do your friends calls you… why do i feel you are hiding something…why do I suddenly have this strong fear … tell me something.. anything you think I deserve to know… anything you haven’t mentioned before… if you truly love me then you should prove it further by opening up to me Kane…I love you so very much, you are like the air that I breath, I see you as Mr perfect and nothing will change that but I will be more hurt and feel betrayed if I find out that you are keeping something from me…it will be better if you tell me by yourself about whatever you are keeping from me, anything bad that is attached to your name… I will feel hurt but I will forgive you eventually because you told me by yourself but if I find out later that you have being lying to me then everything is going to change real bad because I hate liars and pretenders…I maybe over reacting right now but if that will lead me to whatever you are keeping away from me then is all for good…
    “I don’t know what has come over you, I don’t know what I did that provoked you tonight…I just don’t know but I am not hiding anything from you… you already knows me Olivia… you know everything about me…I can’t hide anything from you my love… I’m sorry if I did something wrong or make you feel like I’m hiding something…I am not hiding anything…I can’t hide anything from you Olivia… you are going to be my wife and marriage should not be built on distrust…I got my facial scar while growing up, me with my friends were playing one day and one of them threw a heavy stone and it mistakenly landed on my face and left this little scar, I don’t have a nick name, all my friends back then calls me Kane even till now… please Olivia stop this.. you are getting me scared with your sudden reaction towards me… everything I told you is true…I can’t lie to you… trust me….
    Kane was on his feet pleading, Olivia was not satisfied with his reply, she still felt Wilson can’t mistakenly mention Kaka twice, if the first was a mistake then this second time confirmed that the first was never a mistake, Olivia who was not taking it at all needed to understand why Wilson calls him Kaka twice.
    “If what you are saying is true then why did Wilson, your friend calls you Kaka…no, don’t give me that look… I’m not fooled, Wilson was here today and while waiting for you to return, we started having a normal gist and he refers to you as Kaka. This time around I hard it clearer and I knew you lied to me before… on the day I hard same name… you are lying… why did he call you Kaka, of all the whole names in this planet why will he call you such…
    Kane was shocked and afraid as he hard Olivia say that Wilson came around. He became confused because he did not know what Wilson has told Olivia.
    But he was certain that Wilson will pay for the fire he came to set between him and Olivia
    Kane tried to pacify a furious Olivia to calm down and when she became calm she walked away from him to her daughter’s room to sleep, leaving a disturbed Kane to nurse his troubled heart.
    The following day, Kane could not wait for morning to come before driving off in search of Wilson.

    “James!” I shouted. Immediately, he looked up and saw me..He smiled.
    “Hey, Its me Eve” I said not knowing what to say .
    “I know, i can never forget a beautiful face” He said.
    I blushed at that. “What are you doing here? What happened to you? You look pale” James said, taking a good look at my face.
    “Uhm..er..er..i umm” I stammered. I couldnt tell him. I couldnt tell James Alberto tried to drown me. I couldnt tell him he almost killed me.
    “Its Alberto isnt i?” He said and i looked up to look at him. “He’s still the same sick b—–d after all those years” He frowned.
    All those years? Which years? Alberto wasnt lying when he said he knew James that they enemies.
    “How are you James? I’m deeply sorry the other night. I shouldnt have danced with you that day. Now see the mess i put you in. Youre here in the hospital all because i couldnt walk away. I’m deeply sorry James” I said, almost in tears. Guilt ate me from inside. It was all my fault this handsome man was here.
    “Its OK Eve, you don’t need to apologise. Its not your fault. Its Alberto’s. He’s sick. Twisted. Crazy. He doesn’t like anyone playing with his toys” James said wiping my tears away.
    Toys?
    “You need to get away from him Eve” He said.
    Get away from Alberto? Was i crazy? Alberto would find me and drag me back to him even if he had to kill everyone in the f—–g world.
    “I think i need to get going back to my room. Its Evening and Alberto would soon be back” I stood up and started to leave.
    “You have to get out before you end up like Jane”
    What? Jane? Who was she?
    “Who’s Jane?” I asked, sitting down again.
    “Alberto wasn’t always like this” James started. “We were very good friends, right from childhood, he was friendly, caring, funny. He was my best friend. Then one girl Jane came into my life. She w as gorgeous, beautiful, smart, intelligent, she was all i could ask for. I wanted her to be my wife” James laughed. A sad laugh.
    But Alberto got jealous and wanted Jane for him self, so he started doing things to destroy my relationship with her. But Jane kept coming to me , our relationship got stronger. It got Alberto more angrier. He grew obsessed with Jane. He grew intense feelings for her..He craved for her. He wanted her. He was going to do anything for her. Even if i t meant killing his best friend”
    “No. Alberto would never do that” I said.
    But James just laughed. “Oh, he would. Alberto started stalking Jane. He watched her and followed her everyday. He grew too close. He needed to see her. He took pictures of her. He grew obsesssed. He became a stalker. Jane grew uncomfortable and told him to stop but instead it grew worse. I confronted Alberto to stop stalking my girlfriend but he refused. Few days later, Jane gets missing .”
    I gasped, no Alberto wouldn’t take her..He cant. I argued with myself..But something deep in me he did..He did it.
    “I called the police to investigate the case, they did but couldn’t find her. So i went to Alberto’s house and lo and behold Jane was there, looking battered up, she looked just like you. Pale and sick. I tried to get her out of his house but Alberto came and Jane told me to go so he wont see me. But it was too late, Alberto was with a gun..He was going to kill her. Saying if he cant have her no one else could but Jane had a knife with her the whole time. She slit her throat”
    James finished, tears was in his eyes.
    “James, I’m so sorry” I cried. “I didnt know Alberto was so cruel”
    “No, Eve. Jane made her choice that day. She killed herself to escape from Alberto. He drove her in sane. He drove her to her death. Thats what he does Eve. He drives people to thier death all in the name of his stupid love. You have the chance to get away from him now Eve before he kills you like he did to Jane”
    I was confused. I wanted to go. I wanted to leave Alberto but at the same time i didnt want to.
    “Come with me Eve” James stood up holding his hand.
    He held hand for me to take.
    I wanted to take it. I wanted to go with James.
    “We can get away from him Eve. I have enough money to take us far away from here where Alberto would never see us. Just name the country you want us to go to and we will” James said, staring at me.
    The offer was tempting. I was starting to like James. But was i really ready to leave Alberto. Anywhere i went he would get me back. I knew Alberto.
    “I cant…I’m sorry James” I said, crying. I needed t o get away from him. I needed to be alone. “Alberto would find me and bring me back. I cant. I can never be free from him. I belong to him”
    “Eve, I know its too much to take in now but i stay in room 45 so when you are ready come there. W hen you make up your mind i will be waiting. But i would be discharged this night. So decide quickly”
    With that he limped away. I quickly looked around me to see if Alberto was around. The body guards were talking amongst themselves so they didnt hear any of me and James conversation.
    I went back to my room in tears. I sat on the bed and cried my eyes out.
    There was freedom waiting for me and i had declined it. The freedom i had always wanted.. Was i really ready to leave Alberto? The truth was i didnt even know the answer. Alberto was a monster. A beast. Now a murderer. Why wasnt i running away? Why wasnt i with James now, half way across the world. Why did i choose to stay with Alberto ? Was i having feelings for him?
    What? No? I was going crazy just like Jane. Love Alberto? Never! I cried harder as i fought with my inner mind.
    Alberto was going to be the death of me. No! Alberto loves me, he said it a million times.
    But then why does he keep treating you badly? Another voice in my head said.
    Because he dosent know how to express his love ,he allows his anger and obsession get the best of him. Another voice in my head said.
    I was running mad. It was evening. Alberto would soon be back. James would soon leave and i would never see him again.
    My last chance of freedom would be gone.
    Was i really ready to spend my whole life with Alberto?
    Yes.
    No.
    Yes.
    No.
    I wanted to spend it with James. A man i didnt even know. Someone i just met yesterday. Was it re ally worth it. But i would never be happy. No, i would be happy with James, he was nice and caring .
    It was getting darker outside and Alberto would soon arrive.
    I needed to make up my mind.
    You have to get away from Alberto before you end up like Jane. I remembered James words.
    I was going to leave. I was going to get out of her e..I was going to go with James. I was going to g et away from Alberto. I cant stay with him. He would kill me just like he did to poor Jane. I was going to leave this place with James, we would go sonewhere far.

    I was going to get my freedom.

    3 Days Later… They gathered in the computer room in the basement “You guys are awesome” Zeus said happily “Everyone did their jobs perfectly and am very happy about that” he said as they were celebrating “We’re awesome” God-eye said ‘I love this family” Drummer said ‘I love my job” Machine said and they laughed “Where’s Franklin?” Zeus asked “He’s locked up in a room” Hades said “With his driver” God-Eye said “Is his driver rich” Luke asked and they laughed “We’ll find out” Zeus said “guys, Friday is the D-day” Zeus said and they were all silent “The day we hit CBN” “We leave for Abuja tomorrow morning and we set up ourselves” “Listen to me, this is a very risky job but the reward is unbelievable. We all have to work with our IQs like never before and if we succeed, there will be only one mission left” “And that is to kill General Afeez” Zeus explained “God will be with us all” Zeus said and there was silence “Amen” Luke replied and then the others said Amen too “Are we all ready for this job?” Zeus asked them “Am always prepared” Hades said “Evil Spirit” Zeus called and he nodded in agreement “I love our family job” Machine said “Am with you anytime any day” God-Eye said “Am ready” Drummer said “Till death do us part, Zeus” Luke said and Zeus smiled “What about you Ade” Zeus asked “O come on Zeus, I would die for our family” he said “We’re all good to go then” Zeus said “Ade please recap on our movement” Zeus said and sat down… 4hours Later… “So tell me, how’d it go with Jameel” Zeus asked Luke as they walked in the compound “The day you left was the only day she went out” Luke said “Where’d she go?” “She went to a supermarket to get some things before coming back to the house” “So after that day, she didn’t go out again?” Zeus asked “Yes, she didn’t” he replied “Did she see you” “No, she… didn’t see me” he hesitated because he lied “Alright” “Hey Zeus Franklin wants to talk to you” Drummer said They went into the room where Franklin and his driver was “Hello Frank” Zeus greeted “Who are you?” Frank asked; Zeus looked at the driver who was just calm all the while and had a blindfold on his eyes “Remove the blindfold” Zeus said and Machine removed the black cloth; the young man looked around him with fear and saw 7 handsome well-dressed men in front of him “What’s your name” Zeus said smiling “Uche” he said calmly “Uche, am sorry I can’t let you go” Zeus said “Haaaa, please don’t kill me, I swear I will not tell anyone anything” he cried “Am not bordered about you telling anyone, you can tell the soldiers if you like but the info you just heard in confidential” “I swear, I don’t understand what you guys are say” he said; Zeus looked at him for some secs “Ok, I won’t kill you” “Do you have wife and children?” Zeus asked “Yes I have wife and one daughter” “Don’t be afraid Uche I was only joking, I won’t kill you, ok?” Zeus said touching him and he nodded “I don’t kill innocent people; your boss here” Zeus said pointing to Frank “Is Guilty of the murder of Dr, Jason Heineken, do you know that man?” Zeus asked “Yes I know him, he was assassinated before election day” Uche said “Good, you’re current; that man was my father and this man was part of the people who killed him” Zeus explained “Am so sorry, sir” Uche said “Thank you, am sorry too” Zeus said “I am going to release you and give you 10 million and you will go far away from here, do you understand?” Zeus asked, he nodded in surprise and excitement” “Drummer take him back to his home” Zeus said “Thank you sir” he said happily and then Drummer untied him and took him away; Zeus then turned to Frank “I have a list of all the person’s I need to kill and you are the last on that list but now there’s another person I have added; the head plot of all these bullshit” “What do we do with this one” Luke asked; Zeus looked at Frank for 5secs “Kill him” Zeus said and walked away…

    At about 7:00am Zeus and Machine had left the house to the airport, leaving Haliya, Jameel and Ade as home. 10:00am, Luke was on his way to Zeus’s house and about 10mins later he was almost at the gate when he saw a car come out and then turned towards his direction and was heading his way, he watched as the car passed and he saw that it was Jameel so he started his car and turned around and followed her. He was 50meters behind her then she entered the main road and after 10mins she stopped by a supermarket and then entered the place. After 20secs Luke came out of his car and entered the market too; it was a very big market, he moved in and stood behind a large item rack and saw that she came shopping so he walked out the supermarket and went to his car and waited for her and after 10mins she stepped out with a small white bag and then a man ran out the store and went to her, Luke watched them as they talked and she shook him, they laughed together and the look on Luke’s face was jealousy (you can’t blame him because when you’re in love you get a lot of combined feeling when you see you loved one with the opposite sex) He wanted to walk to them but he kept cool since they just talking and then the guy enters her car and they drove off, Luke was surprised so he followed them and they stopped at a club downtown and they both entered the club; Luke quickly followed them. The club was sound proved and the inside was dark with few people dancing; it was the multicolored lights that brightened the whole place. Luke saw them sit down and started talking again and after ordering some drinks they walked into another door and Luke followed; they entered into a small room and closed the door. Luke stood outside and waited outside, he was really getting angry because of what they would be doing in there, he then barged into the room and was surprised not to see anyone but just a red rug, a bed, a small fridge and one arm chair and a door into a bathroom; the light in the room was very bright. He pulled out his gun and walked to the bathroom and then Jameel came out of the bathroom and looked at him and he froze “I know you’d come” she said smiling; Luke didn’t know what to say or do “Stanley come out” she said and the young guy came out of the bathroom “Hey Luke” he said “Who the fvck are you and what are you doing with her?” Luke said angrily “Hey relax dude, it was a plan to bring you here and it worked” he said “A plan? What plan” he asked “Yeah a plan” he said and walked out the room and shut the door. Luke stared at Jameel and she smiled and walked to him and then passed him and went to the door without a word; Luke was buried in oblivion and didn’t know what was happening, he just held the gun with a lose grip and stared at her as she walked seductively to the door, he was staring at her large butts, he was already sweating; Jameel locked the door twice and pulled the key and threw it on the chair and walked back to him and stood in front of him smiling. Luke then knew what was up. He had rashes of sweat on his forehead , she moved closer and then pressed her bosom on him and put her arms around his neck and that sent pulse down his pants. “Why are you sweating?” she said in a low sexy tone as she used her finger to clean the sweat on his face “I… Zeus” he tried to speak “Sssshhhh” she shunned him “Forget Zeus, he wouldn’t do anything, he wouldn’t even know” she said as she looked deep in his eyes and she was very good at it especially with the beauty she had. She kissed his upper lip and he accepted it by kissing her lower lip and he could taste her pineapple wet lip; she smiled because she knew she had him She turned her back to him and said “Unzip my dress” and he obeyed like a good child, she then dropped her dress and Luke had a good view of that bright skinned ass; his eyes widened and he swallowed the saliva gathered in his mouth. She turned to him and he was amazed at the sight of her large breasts pulping from that small blue bra. Luke was gone, his John Thomas was ready to tear his pants open; the gun he was holding had fallen from his hand. She then used one of her fingers to pull down her bra and revealed one of her full breasts and the put his hand on her butts “I have been waiting for this moment, to catch you off guard” “You succeeded” he managed to say and she giggled and then kissed him passionately and he did the same, they kissed each other like it was their last; they both got on the bed and he made love to her… “Mr. Franklin is in the fourth floor” God-Eye said “What’s he doing?” Hades asked “Talking to someone but I think he’s on his way out” “Good; Drummer where are you” Hades asked “Am in the car waiting for you guys” “Good, God-Eye step out of the bank, we’ll wait outside” Hade said. After 5mins the target was out of the bank premises and he entered the back seat of a carand the car moved; Hades and God-eye got in their car “Follow him” Hades said to Drummer They followed the car until they got to a traffic jam “Alright, am going in on him so once the car moves you follow us” Hades said and stepped out of their car and walked to the target’s car, he opened the door and entered the car “Excuse me, who are you? You can’t just come into my car like that” Frank said and then Hades brought out a gun and pointed it to him “Shut the fvck up” Hades yelled “Wined down those glasses” Hades said to the driver and he quickly obeyed and then the traffic cleared “Move the car and head for third mainland bridge” Hades said and he obeyed “We’re heading for the bridge” Hades said to the others through the Bluetooth pod “Please who are you? What do you want?” Franklin was scared but Hades was silent as he watched the road ahead “Please, I have money, I can give you anything you want, please don’t kill me” he begged and then Hades hit him with the gun on the head and he fainted “Money is not my problem Asshole” Hades said; the driver constantly glanced at Hades through the mirror “Focus on your driving, you wanna kill us? You look at me a again I’ll bust your brains on those glasses” Hades said and he focused. By 11:05am they were at Zeus’s home; they entered the compound and drove to the back of the main building and took the man out with his driver and moved them into a room… Luke was probably the luckiest guy in the world to be laying with such a beauty. They both laid on the bed silently; Luke was lying on his back and looking at the roof while Jameel was lying on her side and looking at Luke, he constantly glanced at her “What are you staring at?” he finally asked and she smiled but he didn’t smile back. He then stood up and sat on the bed and backed her; Luke was muscular and well built; he then put on his trousers and then sat on the bed quietly probably thinking of what to say. “Luke that was good” she said and he turned his head to look at her and then looked away again ‘You’re the second guy am having sex with” she said “(Chuckles) You want me to buy that?” he said “It’s the truth, there’s no buying it” she said and sat up “When I was in Abu Dhabi, I was dating a guy called Raman but after two months of our dating, he wanted me to have a threesome with him and his friend but I refused, he then tried to force me but I had managed to escape and I made a mistake by telling Zeus about it because he got so angry that he and Aziz visited the guy and beat him up with a crowbar and almost killed him; they were arrested but my father got them out” “I see… so you lost your virginity to that asshole” “Not really” she said “When I was in high school there in Abu Dhabi, I had real bad female friends who introduced me into porn and lesbian sex” she said and Luke looked at her with surprise “I was a lesbian for two years but I stopped, I knew it wasn’t my thing; I never told my father or Zeus” “You lost your virginity to a lady” he said “Does that change your feelings for me?” she asked and he was quiet then climbed the bed and held her “I love you and it doesn’t change my feelings but your brother would not approve of this” he said “Then we won’t let him know” she said touching his face “You don’t understand, nothing can be hidden forever, if he finds out, am so dead” “I promise you, he wont” she said and kissed him “How did you know I followed you? And who was that guy?” he asked “I knew my brother would put a watch over me when he travels and I knew it was you because he likes you a lot. Stanley is Ade’s friend whom I borrowed so I can make you jealous and follow us so as to lure you here” she explained and he kinda felt stupid for falling so cheaply but he was happy he did “You got me” he said smiling and kissed her passionately and they had sex again…

    *Four years ago*
    “Mom, mom. Look at this little cat on the fence!” . I shouted looking outside the window at a cat sitting on the fence. It was cute.
    “Not now baby” My mom said, she was curently cooking for my dad who would soon be back from work. My mom was a wonderful woman who loved me so much. I took after her in everything. The hair, eyes, behaviour. I was the photocopy of my mother. The only thing i took after my dad was his smile. I smiled a lot like him. I couldnt wait for him to come back. I was closer to him. I missed him. I hope he buys chocolates.
    I looked at the cat again, it seemed to be sleeping . His tail waging.
    “Mom, i want a cat” I said, moving away from the window and coming to hold my mom.
    “Not now Eve, Im busy. Move away from the pot before it burns you” She pushed me slighty and i frowned.
    “I’ll tell dad you keep ignoring me” I said folding my arms.
    Instead she just laughed. “Ok I’m so sorry darling ” She said, coming closer to me. I knew what she wanted to do. She was going to tickle me.
    So I ran, she laughed and ran after me.
    Just then the door bell rang.
    I ran to open expecting it to be dad.
    When i opened the door, I saw someone else. A man. A tall handsome man. He had black hair and was on a black suit..He looked scary. Behind him were about five other men with black suits and dark shades.
    I stood there frozen as the man stared at me. Something in his eyes made me shiver.
    “Hello darling” He finally said and i ran to the kitchen.
    “Mom! Mom! A man is here!” I shouted.
    My mom came out, holding my hands tight, she looked at the men who had already come in. The man was sitting on the couch with a gun in his hands. I gasped. A gun. Was he going to kill us?
    “Eve, go to your room honey and watch some catoons” My mom said pushing me in the direction of the stairs.
    I quickly ran upstairs, but i didnt want to stay in my room. I wanted to know who that man was and what he wanted.
    So i stood at the top of the stairs and peeped.
    “Alberto, what do you want?” My mom said, looking scared but she tried to appear strong.
    So the man name was Alberto. Nice name.
    Alberto laughed. Still playing with the gun. “What am i doing here?” He laughed again. This time louder.
    “Your husband still owes me three million”
    My mom gasped. Three million? That was a lot of money. Dad owed this Alberto man three million.
    “No, no, Dave told me he had paid you” My mom said, shocked.
    “It seems your husband lied to you, because he hasnt”
    The door opened, and my dad came in. He was holding a bucket of icecream.
    “Wow, just the man we were waiting for” Alberto stood up, tucking his gun in his pockets.
    My dad froze, he was shocked, he looked scared of this man.
    “Dave, Alberto said you hadnt paid him” My mom said moving close to my dad.
    “What do you want Alberto?” My dad said, holding my mom.
    “What do i want? what do i want? I want my f—–g money a—–e” Alberto said, clearly angry.
    “Tell him, you’ve paid him Dave” My mom said.
    “Give me a week, i would get the money” My mom moved away from my dad clearly hurt that he had lied to her about paying Alberto.
    “A week? No Dave your time is up” Alberto picked his gun and the pointed it at my mother.
    No. Dont kill my mom.
    “Alberto, please, i would give you your money, please let my wife go”
    “Dave!” My mom cried as Alberto’s men held her.
    Fear ate me up from inside. They were going to kill my mom.
    “Go get the girl upstairs!” Alberto shouted, his mem followed and started to come up the stairs. I got up. They were coming after me. They were going to kill me. I ran to my room and closed the door. There was silence and i quickly hid under the bed holding Daniel, my teddy bear.
    Immediately, my door burst open, and i peeped from under the bed and saw a man’s feet.
    I pressed my hand to my mouth so i wouldnt scream.
    Silenced filled the room and the man moved towards the other side of the bed. I was scared.
    I held Daniel closer to my chest. Then a pair of hands grabbed my legs and drew me out. I screamed when i saw the man. One of Alberto’s men he looked scary.
    “Gotha” He smiled at me and carried me away. Despite all my efforts of trying to come down he still held me tight.
    “Mom! Dad!” I shouted, kicking my legs and hitting him with Daniel, the teddy bear.
    At last we got downstairs and mom was already crying. My dad was sad. Alberto was smiling. What was funny?
    The man placed me down and Alberto came close to me. I held on to Daniel.
    “Mom,Dad” I whispered, but they didnt answer, they reamained were they were not looking at me.
    What was going on?
    “Dear, dear Eve” Alberto said, holding me face. “You now belong to me”
    My mom broke down in tears. My dad still looked down. Sad. Broken.
    I didnt understand what he was saying? I was his ? How? Why? I was just thirteen years. I didnt understand what all this was about.
    “What do you mean?” I asked, tears already falling from my face.
    “You see, your dad over there” He pointed at my dad. “Owes my money and dosent want to pay up, so he said you should go with me and stay with me forever. And even your mom agreed” Alberto finished.
    The way my heart broke was unimaginable. No. No. Mom and dad wont let me go with this unknown man.
    “You see, Mommy and Daddy dosent love you”
    “No, stop. My mom loves me, she wont give me away to you” I cried.
    “Really? Lets see if they would call you back when i take you away” He said taking my arm and dragging me towards the door.
    My parents didnt even move. Mom was crying, dad was still looking at the floor. I could see the tears falling from his eyes too.
    They were crying, they didnt want me to go. But at the same time they werent doing anything.
    “Mom! Dad!” I shouted at them but thet remained still. “Mom! please dont let them take me away. I promise i would be good. Dad!”
    “It was nice doing business with you Mr and Mrs Peters, you are never going to see your daughter again”
    Alberto dragged me out and threw me inside the car.
    I cried, wailed, screamed and shouted at him to open the door that i wanted to go back to my parents.
    But no. No one answered. No one replied. I felt lonely, scared, sad, broken. I had lost Mom, Dad even Daniel fell on the road while i was strug gling.
    The car started and i looked at my house. This was it. This was the end of my life. This was the last time i would see my parents. This was the last time i would be free. This was the beginning of hell.
    *Back to the present*
    Still going deep into the river, i remembered the d ay Alberto took me from my family. That was the day i became Eve Santiago and no more Eve Pete rs.
    I was loosing consciousness as the water filled my lungs, i was dying.
    Then i felt my body being lifted up and out of the water, I felt relieved. I could finally breathe. But i was loosing it. I tried to cough out the water but i couldnt. I could only see black. I was going to faint. The pair of hands held me closer.
    “Don’t die now Eve. Please dont” The person carrying me said. But i couldnt identify the voice. I wa s too tired. I was too tired to open my eyes so i g ave in to the darkness. I fainted in the person’s arms.

    The rest of the day was crazy and busy, I wasn’t comfortable the whole of the day, with every body looking at me like a freak, I was going crazy with their looks and scorn, like that wasn’t enough angel Michael was around me saying things that I could not even remember. Finally the day came to an end, I took a turn to my favorite restaurant to get my dinner, “why should I cook”

    I waited for him to say something else but he didn’t, I couldn’t wish or think anything he could hear my thought without stressing, not having the strength for another embarrassment, I drove straight home, I got home Hungary and tired, I quickly rush into the kitchen to get pizza from the fridge but there was nothing left, in fact my fridge was empty, “d–n right, I shouldn’t have listen to that dude, now I’m going to die of hunger”
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    “Michael” and now I’m a “dude” you have no respect for angels?
    TERESA
    (Scoff) so you finally spoke, all the while you were silent and now u spoke because I called you a dude? Well I have respect for angels before but if all angels are like you, then I lost all my respect.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    but why? What did I do that has made you lost all your respect?
    TERESA
    (I smiled) I don’t know, just leave me alone would you? I’m so hungry
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    look inside the fridge then.
    TERESA
    Like I haven’t done that before? There is nothing in there.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    you argue too much teresita
    TERESA
    (I smiled, no one has ever called me teresita before) well that’s why I’m a doctor right? Because I need to argue with my patients who won’t take their medicine.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    fine accepted, so suit yourself if you want to eat or not.
    With frustration I opened the fridge and there was food, food of different kinds, I could swear there wasn’t even water when I opened the fridge before, how come I wiped my eyes with my hand to be sure I was seeing clearly and when I finish the food was still there staring at me, when you are hungry you won’t even have time to think if the food is good or evil. I dug into the food and ate like a wounded lion, ” God the food tasted like it was made by God himself” I have never tasted anything as good as that. I ate to my filled and left the remains on the kitchen table without covering it.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    God hate waster teresita.
    As much as I like it when he calls me that, it makes me feel girly and weird.
    TERESA
    stop calling me that would you?
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    I won’t promise.
    TERESA
    (I sigh) I’m done eating the food what else should I do with it?
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    keep for another day, do you study the holy book at all? Where your blood maker feed five thousand people what did he tell them after they had ate to their fill?
    TERESA
    Gather the remains.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    So you know and yet you waste food, why do you think your blood maker asked them to gather the remains?
    TERESA
    if you are always here, monitoring me, who will God send on missions and errands? (Changing the subject)
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    you have no ideal, how big the kingdom of God is do you? No one can put God to ransom, that was why the day the choir mistress in your church refuse to turn up because she allow Lucifer to get to her heard that no one was like her, God used you to prove to her and every other person there that no one can hold God to ransom.
    TERESA
    why were they falling, I thought maybe they were just pretending, why did Mrs Benson my pastor’s wife fell too?
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    she has been barren for 15 years, she couldn’t conceive, not because she didn’t have a womb but because her break through was attached to you.. She is with a child now, even she isn’t aware yet.
    TERESA
    this is too much to take in, she was barren for that long because I was suppose to carry out her deliverance? I didn’t even touch her, so how come she was delivered?
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    My Lord works in a way humans can never understand ” God’s ways are wiser than any man’s understanding” you wanted to drop the mic because you felt their hypocrisy was getting on your nerves, look here
    That day at the podium, I tried to drop the mic but two ladies in white held me, they are angels I guess.
    TERESA
    so that was what happened? I felt the strong force holding me, but I didn’t see anyone.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    you could not have, because your heart was filled with doubt, and I must tell you, the powers bestowed to you by my lord is mighty and big, but as long as you doubt you won’t use it.
    I was tired, tired of what I am, or what they say I am, I just want to be that ordinary girl who has no one as a friend or lover.

    I lighted the stove immediately
    and put some water into the
    kettle and placed it on the
    stove.
    “Hope you’ve put the water?”
    My madam shouted from the
    sitting room.
    “Yes ma,” I replied twisting my
    fingers in fear.
    “Come and wash off these
    napkins immediately,” she
    ordered sending me running
    into the sitting room.
    She handed me the soiled
    napkins and I zoomed off with
    it into the bathroom to wash it.
    I had barely soaked the napkin
    into the water when I heard
    madam’s voice dishing out
    another instruction.
    “I will skin you alive if you
    continue wasting my kerosene
    in this house!” She bawled. “Or
    do you want to tell me that
    you don’t know that this hot
    water is boiling?”
    “Sorry ma,” I replied.
    “Sorry for your stupid self!” she
    fired back.
    I instantly rinsed my hands and
    rushed to the kitchen to bring
    down the hot water.
    I didn’t know where the pap I
    was to prepare was, so I went
    to the sitting room to ask
    madam.
    “Ma please where is the pap?” I
    asked trembling with fear.
    “Idiot the pap is there!” She
    fumed pointing at the fridge.
    I went to the fridge, brought
    out the pap, prepared it and
    took it to her in the sitting
    room.
    Then I went to the bathroom
    to continue with the napkin.
    The baby’s cry filled the entire
    house and I soon heard my
    madam’s voice calling me.
    “Adaeze!” She called.
    “Yes ma,” I replied rinsing my
    hands once again and running
    into the sitting room.
    “Sing for her, sing for her,” she
    urged.
    “Fine baby don’t cry, fine baby
    don’t cry,” I broke into an
    unrehearsed song.
    Fortunately for me, the baby
    stopped crying and listened to
    my song as she gulped down
    the warm pap.
    When she was done, I carried
    the plate into the kitchen and
    washed it off and then went to
    the bathroom to finish up with
    the soaked napkin.
    Soon, baby went to sleep and
    madam went to sleep too and I
    had little time to myself…

    The whole of the night I couldn’t sleep, I was just thinking, ” what if I’m mistaken, what if it was the devil trying to make things look real” in all the people God could use, he chose someone like me? Wait a minutes Jesus didn’t bore any child before he died right? Does that mean I’m going to die without a husband or children? Only the thought of that made me angry, I can’t give up my life because I’m someone’s blood oh no.
    The night finally came to an end and I was so thankful for that, I got up from the couch where I had laid the previous night, went into my bedroom to take my bath and get ready for work, I took my bath and brought out the clothes I was going to wear to work. Then the voice came ” you can’t wear this, pick something else Teresa” this time the voice was different, different from the one I heard last night, I quickly turn looking for where the voice came from, ” you can’t see me” the voice came again.
    TERESA
    I think I’m going to go crazy, show yourself
    VOICE
    I’m only here to deliver a message from your blood maker, I am not allowed to show myself
    TERESA
    Who are you, are you also Jesus or God himself( I mocked)
    VOICE
    Michael, I’m an angel and I know you just mocked the holy spirit, God can not be mocked.
    Yeah he was right I was really mocking him when I asked that question, is this how people will be appearing to me every now and then?
    I ignore the voice and wore my clothes, no one should detect to me what and what not to wear, 15 minutes later I was already driving out of my compound, it funny how I do my things myself, no gateman or maid, just all by myself.
    I drove through the busy road of abuja that morning feeling, pain, anger, hatred, lonely, and rejected. I drove into the hospital parking lot, not having the zeal to greet anyone I just walked into my office, did some signing before I kicked off for the day’s work, I checked my favorite patient in ward 4, she is a really fun person, even on her sick bed you will love her. After chatting with her for a while I went to the reception to look for nurse Mariya when this fat, black lady came from no where and gave me a resounding slap, my eyes went blank, for a minute I didn’t know what to say or how to react, everyone available was shocked and silent.
    WOMAN
    I have been following your car since my husband dropped you off, you thing you can scatter my home? ( she pull me by my collar)
    I was more confuse now, what the hell is this woman talking about? How did she even know me, I mean who is her husband..
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    I told you, didn’t I? I told you not to wear this dress…the woman’s husband is cheating on her, and today of all days she decided to catch her husband and his accomplice together, it so happened she is wearing the same dress as yours.
    TERESA
    why didn’t you save me this embarrassment by telling me the full story when you were warning me? ( I whisper)
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    you can just communicate with me from the heart, I am an angel remember?
    TERESA
    (scoff) are angels this boastful? ( I said inwardly)
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    we ain’t, we are as humble as the sea itself.
    Wow he really heard my thoughts, wow I wish I could really do that too.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    Sure you can, all you have to do is accept what you are.
    I was standing there in that awkward situation discussing with angel Michael or whatever his name is that I forgot I was been held by an angry woman. Another slap from her set my brain back on track, I try to explain to her that she had seen wrongly but she wouldn’t have any of it, this time people have already gather watching the whole embarrassing show, doctor P called for the security, they came immediately but the couldn’t do anything because she was holding to my clothes so tightly, they were scared my shirt might get tore if they pull her with force.
    TERESA
    do something Michael
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    “Michael”? I’m not just Michael I’m angel Michael
    TERESA
    Jesus Christ, are you sure you are really an angel? Cause you are too troublesome.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    I’m not an angel of war, but peace my lord knew that, that’s why he sent me.
    TERESA
    just shut up and save me please.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    You already know what to do, what ever thing you want just say it.
    TERESA
    what? are you really going to be like this?
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    you better be fast, her next action will bring you totally naked before everyone.
    The thought of me been naked in the presence of everyone got me really shy and scared, I held her cheeks
    TERESA
    release me and go home, your husband will cheat no more, your broken heart is mended.
    It sounded crazy right, talking to her like I was using some kind of charm, but surprisingly it worked, she released my dress and smiled at me before she walked out.. ” oh my sweet God I can’t believe I just did that” I thought inwardly.
    ANGEL MICHAEL
    yes you did, but I guess you have a lot of explaining to do.
    I turn around and all eyes were on me, obviously shocked for what just took place, I stare from the patients, to the nurse down to the rest before I gave an uneasy smile before I ran to my office.
