    ~ Genevieve ~

Four months—four whole bloody months—have passed since Dominic and I made it official. Those four months have been some of the most incredible of my entire existence.

Sometimes, it feels like a dream how far we’ve come, how strong and intense our love for each other is growing—fierce and unrelenting.

Our relationship grows stronger and wilder with each passing day, and I absolutely adore it. I love how obsessed Dominic is with me, as I find myself equally entranced by him. Not a single day goes by without us seeing each other, and if we can’t manage that, we make sure to have a good natter on the phone.

For my first foray into romance, I reckon I’ve done rather well in choosing the right man. He’s older, more mature, utterly charming, understanding, and let’s not forget devilíshly handsome. He’s extremely handsome.

Goodness, I still catch myself drooling over him, and he’s my boyfriend! I know, it’s hard to believe, but it’s Dominic Morozov—just him, and he’s hot as héll.

Ah, I nearly forgot to mention how splendid university is going. Surprisingly, I’m having a rather lovely time at uni, more than I ever anticipated. I’ve made friends that I’m eager to see where they might lead, and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. Life is treating me splendidly at the moment.

Everything is going perfectly, and when I say everything, I mean every single thing. Even my mother, Mariah King, isn’t bothering me anymore. This may be because of how rarely we see each other due to our busy lives, or perhaps because I’m purposefully avoiding her to maintain my peace.

However, tonight is different; I can’t hide from her any longer. A party is being hosted by the second wealthiest conglomerate in the United Kingdom, and we Kings have been specially invited. And as long as my last name remains King, I simply must attend; it’s non-negotiable, or so she insists.

    Ugh!

On the bright side, Dominic will be there as the Morozovs also happen to be on the guest list, along with Julianna, so yay for me, I suppose.

A sigh escaped my lips just as my phone lit up with a ring. I let it ring for a moment, captivated by my reflection in the mirror.

I’m clad in a long, black sequin dress that hugs my body in all the right places, making me smirk at the mere thought of Dominic seeing me. I can just picture his breath hitching, lips parting before that slow smile spreads across his face.

My cheeks flushed a deep crimson, my eyes sparkling with the genuine love I feel for Dominic. He’ll be the end of me if I’m not careful.

My phone rang again, and I groaned before picking it up from the bed. My eyes widened at the contact ID, and a smile quickly followed.

“Well, well, well, look who finally remembered he has a little sister,” I said, lacing my voice with as much sass as I could muster—trust me, it’s quite a lot. “What’s happened? Has the sky turned red in Korea?”

“That’s no way to greet your big brother after months of silence,” Everett retorted, matching my sass with his own, which made me smile despite my resolve to frown. “Have you forgotten your manners, young lady?”

“Argh, you sound just like your mother.”

“She’s yours too, Dovey. Don’t forget that.”

“Oh, trust me, I can’t. She reminds me at every opportunity. So, what’s going on? Why did you call?”

“Nothing much, just missed my baby sisters.”

My lips broke into a wide smile, “Have you spoken to Adrianna?”

“Yes. I heard the news secondhand from her about her marriage to Xavier Carrington.”

Of course, it was secondhand. When the news broke to the media, there was a veritable uproar, with everyone looking forward to what they dubbed the wedding of the century. That was two months ago, though; now she’s a Carrington.

Xavier is a decent bloke, but I can’t stand the fact that their marriage was arranged. Ugh, who even does that these days?!

“When are you coming back, Ever? I really miss you,” I whined, my tone carrying a hint of truth.

I genuinely miss him, and it’s not as if I can just pop over to see him. I have no idea of his schedule, and he refuses to share it when I ask.

    “Soon, Dovey, soon.”

    It’s never soon!

“You always say that, but you never come.” My voice cracked, tears misting my eyes, my chest aching. “Everett, I feel like you’re distancing yourself from me, and I hàte it.”

My elder brother sighed deeply, the sound sending a shiver through me. “Genevieve,”

Argh, I loathe it when he uses my full name. It always means he’s about to deliver some sort of lecture or impart some elder wisdom that I listen to because, quite frankly, I adore him far too much to hang up

    “Fine, fine, I get it.”

    I don’t.

I really don’t. But I’m not in the mood for a lecture tonight.

“Just take care of yourself, alright? And don’t forget to take care of the soon-to-be Mrs. King, okay?”

Yes, Everett Walker King is in a serious relationship with his high school sweetheart, who he insists will lead to marriage. It’s not that I dislike her; it’s just that she’s too good—almost too good to be true.

A bit too good for my liking, which makes me wary. No one can be as perfect as she seems. Well, except for my Julianna, but even she sees and acknowledges the problems in life. His girlfriend, on the other hand, seems to think that life is nothing but sunshine and roses, and I can’t help but hope she gets pricked by a thorn for a bit of reality.

Whoa, whoa, whoa—hold on a moment, Genevieve. Remember, we like her, and we don’t judge.

I could almost hear him chuckling on the other end of the line. “You’re still my little sister, aren’t you?”

“Yes, and I’ll always be your little sister, even if you’re a million miles away.”

“Just remember, I’m always here for you, Dovey. You’re never alone.”

His words wrapped around me like a warm blanket, and I felt a little lighter. “Thanks, Ever. Just… don’t take too long to come back, alright?”

“Promise. Now, go and look stunning tonight, will you? I want all of the boys feening over you to be speechless.”

“Trust me, they will be,” I replied with a teasing grin, picturing his expression when he sees me.

We said our goodbyes, and I placed the phone down, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within me. I took a deep breath, collecting myself. Tonight might be a challenge, but at least I’d have Dominic and Julianna by my side.

Focusing on my reflection one last time, I adjusted the straps of my dress, allowing the sequins to shimmer in the light. I was ready for whatever the evening had in store, and with Dominic at my side, I felt as if I could conquer anything.

With a renewed sense of excitement, I grabbed my clutch and slipped on my heels, giving myself one last look in the mirror. “Let’s do this,” I whispered, stepping out into the world, ready to embrace the night ahead.

                                       ☆☆☆☆

As per usual, the venue was brimming with the well-to-do, a cacophony of laughter and clinking glasses filling the air. There are few things I despise more in this world, and one of them are people.

People simply aren’t my cup of tea. The act of socialising, of “peopling,” is particularly irksome, so you can imagine how difficult it is for me to maintain a polite smile that I have no desire to wear whenever someone’s gaze meets mine.

I would rather… well, never mind, that’s rather uncharitable.

“Your smile isn’t reaching your eyes, Genevieve,” my sister remarked beside me, her voice low yet audible enough to penetrate the din.

I rolled my eyes in response, letting out a sigh that clearly conveyed my reluctance to be here, and turned my head to face her. “Neither is yours.”

My gaze shifted from her to the man at her side, his arms wrapped possessively around her waist. They were the epitome of a perfect couple. Both impeccable in the way they dress, their attire exuding elegance, and their conversation that drips with sophistication. On the surface, they were flawless, but I saw through it all.

They maintained the facade of civility, yet I could see the tension simmering beneath. Adrianna’s glare was sharp enough to cut glass, while he wore a smirk that suggested he relished provoking her. I noticed how she tensed at his touch, as if she were caught off guard, as if she resented his proximity.

They couldn’t deceive me with whatever charade they were attempting. I was nineteen, hardly a child.

“At least I can wear mine convincingly,” she shot back before striding away.

“Did you two have a row?” I turned sharply to find my best friend standing with her boyfriend.

She wore a lovely blue floral dress—simple yet striking, the kind that captures attention without trying too hard. Her golden hair tumbled over her shoulders, cascading down her back like a shimmering waterfall.

“You could say that,” I muttered, the heaviness of my mood weighing on my shoulders.

    ••

I found myself seated next to Adrianna and her husband. It was either that or endure the company of our parents, and I was determined to protect my mood tonight.

The party was a curious amalgamation of opera, theatre, and all manners of respectable entertainment that, if I were honest, bored me to the brink of tedium. That was until Dominic Morozov settled into the seat beside me.

Our eyes locked, and goodness, I couldn’t suppress the smile that blossomed on my face. His gaze roamed over me, and even though he couldn’t fully appreciate the details of my dress, there was a glimmer in his eyes that made me blush—at least I hoped it was subtle.

“You look stunning,” he mouthed, his lips curling into a charming smile.

“You’re not looking too shabby yourself,” I replied with a silent gesture, earning a roguish smirk in return.

“Not looking too shabby” was an understatement of epic proportions. Dominic was clad in a striking ocean-blue tuxedo, his shoes gleaming as though polished to perfection, and his hair styled with such meticulous care that I felt an overwhelming urge to run my fingers through it, just to tousle it a bit. He looked utterly irresistible, so captivating that nearly every woman in the room—married or single—couldn’t seem to tear their eyes away from him.

All I wanted at that moment was to leap into his arms, to wrap myself around him and kiss him senseless. To show everyone here who he belonged to, who made him weak in the knees, who claimed him for my own. But I knew better than to sully the King name with scandalous tabloid fodder.

You’d be astonished at how quickly a single tabloid can ignite a wildfire of gossip. So, I remained still, feigning interest in whatever trite spectacle unfolded on stage.

Seconds morphed into minutes, and I had sat there long enough to feel uncomfortable and stifled. Remind me again why I was here instead of lounging in my air-conditioned room, draped over my bed.

A sigh escaped my lips, followed by a deeper exhalation. Instead of alleviating the weight on my shoulders, it only served to scratch at my throat. I cleared it as quietly as I could, attempting not to disturb those around me, but the sensation of a cough bubbled up, refusing to be stifled.

Before I could swallow it down, the cough erupted, and in an instant, Dominic was offering me a bottle of water, the cap unscrewed. I accepted it, not realising my misstep until I had downed nearly half.

I felt her piercing gaze before I even turned my head. Adrianna was there, staring at me as if I were Snow White, having just taken a bite of an apple offered by a mysterious ugly, old woman. And perhaps I was, though instead of an ugly crone, I had an incredibly handsome man by my side whom she loathed.

    Dàmmit!

    I am déad.

I felt a wave of heat wash over me, a cocktail of embarrassment and guilt swirling in my chest. I had unwittingly stepped into a minefield, and I could almost hear the ticking clock counting down to my doom. Her expression was a blend of disbelief and fury, and I knew I was in for it.

“Really, Genevieve?” she hissed, her voice barely above a whisper yet sharp enough to cut through the ambient noise of the party. “Is this really necessary?”

I cringed internally, the weight of her disappointment pressing down on me. “I didn’t mean to,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady, but the tremor betrayed my nerves. “He just… offered me a drink.”

Dominic shot me an amused glance, clearly enjoying the spectacle. I shot him a warning look, silently pleading for him to keep his mouth shut. He merely raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips, as if he were relishing the drama unfolding before us.

Adrianna’s gaze flickered to him, and I could see the contempt bubbling beneath her composed exterior. “You always seem to find a way to get entangled in the mess, don’t you?” she snapped, her voice laced with irritation. “What do you think Mother would say if she knew?”

Ah, the dreaded ‘Mother’ card. I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks, a blush of shame creeping in. “I’m not a child, Adrianna,” I replied, trying to keep my tone measured. “I can handle myself.”

“Clearly,” she replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Because nothing screams ‘I’m handling things’ like being caught with Dominic Morozov, of all people.”

Before I could retort, Dominic leaned closer, the warmth of his presence enveloping me like a comforting blanket. “You know, I think you’re both being a bit dramatic,” he said, his voice low and smooth, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. “It’s just a drink—hardly a scandal.”

Adrianna shot him a look that could have curdled milk. “You’re one to talk, Dominic. You thrive on drama, and you know it.”

“Touché,” he conceded with a playful grin, his charm radiating like a beacon. “But I assure you, I’m quite harmless. At least with Genevieve.”

I felt a flutter in my stomach at his words, a mixture of excitement and apprehension. I couldn’t help but smile, despite the tension simmering between the three of us. “See? He’s harmless,” I said, trying to defuse the situation. “Just a bit of fun.”

Adrianna rolled her eyes, exasperated. “Fun? This isn’t some high school party, Genevieve. You’re in the real world now. It’s time to grow up.”

“Perhaps you should take your own advice, dear sister,” I shot back, the words slipping out before I could rein them in. “You’re hardly the poster child for maturity yourself.”

The air between us crackled with unresolved tension, and I could see the hurt flicker in her eyes before she masked it with a cool façade. “I’ll be watching you,” she warned, her tone steely as she turned. “Don’t make me regret sitting here with you.”

As she strode away, a heavy silence settled around us. I turned to Dominic, who was watching me with a bemused expression. “Well, that was fun,” he said, his eyes twinkling with mischief.”

“Glad you enjoyed the show,” I replied, a hint of sarcasm lacing my words. Despite the discomfort, I felt a thrill in the air, an electric connection that made my heart race.

“Are you alright?” he asked, his tone shifting to something more genuine. “Your sister can be a bit intense.”

“I’ll survive,” I replied, attempting to brush off the encounter. “It’s just… family drama. Nothing I can’t handle.”

“Family can be a right pain sometimes,” he said, his voice low and conspiratorial. “But you’ve got to admit, it makes for some interesting evenings.”

I chuckled softly, a smile breaking through the tension. “That it does. Though I could do without the drama.”

Dominic leaned back, his gaze softening as he regarded me. “Life’s too short to worry about what others think, Genevieve. You’ve got to embrace the moments, even if they come with a bit of drama.”

As the evening wore on, I tried to focus on the performances, but my mind kept drifting back to Dominic, the way he sat so effortlessly, exuding confidence and charm. It was maddening, really, to be so aware of him, and yet so acutely aware of the very real consequences of our connection.

The ocean was a kaleidoscope of color, shimmering shades of blue and green danced across the surface as the sun beamed down.

Audrey, a young mermaid, with the most beautiful tail in the sea was swimming peacefully in the warmth of the sea, her tail shinning like a crystal ball, when she felt a sudden chill run down her spine.

She turned to see a strange figure darting towards her, a dagger glinting in her hand.

Audrey tried to swim away, but the figure was too fast. It caught her, its sharp claws ripping into her tail as it tried to drag her down.

She screamed in pain, tears streaming down her face.

“No! Please, leave me alone!” Audrey cried out in fear, her voice echoing through the water.

The figure laughed, its voice eerie and sinister. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, mermaid,” The figure smirks.

“Your kind is a threat to our kingdom, and I am going eliminate you, even if it’s the  last thing I do”

Audrey fought back with all her strength, but the figure was too powerful.

She felt life draining out  from her, and just as the figure  was about to stab her with the dagger, she woke up for her dream, gasping and sweating all over.

This wasn’t the first time she was dreaming of the sea and unknown figure who always tries to kill her.

Audrey takes out her legs from inside the duvet, moving her feet to the left and right.

“Why do I have tails in my dreams when I am a human? Who is the unknown person trying to kill me? Am I a mermaid or a human?”

She immediately saw her jug of water right beside her bed on her shelf.

She carried it right away and gupped all the whole water in one goal.

“F+ck I’m always tasty”. Audrey mumbled to herself.

”Yes don’t you think it’s so weird you drinking that water in a goal”. Someone said from behind and Audrey immediately turned her back to see the person.

“Lisa f+ck…. how the f+ck did you get into my room”. Audrey said and sighed out

” Why are you always scared Audrey, it’s not like someone wanna kill you”Lisa chuckled

” Only if you know what kind of weird dreams I have been having. Audrey said and Lisa smirked.

“I think you might be a witch , you are too beautiful and I heard witches are always beautiful. Lisa said and Audrey glare at her.

“What with the glare?, You and I know I’m right, you don’t need to read so much for you to pass your exams, look at your hair you tried to dye it to be fully black but the sliver or white hair show up suddenly again after just a night, sorry babes but it’s so weird.”Lisa said

That right, Audrey is a very beautiful girl, she can dance and have a perfect body of a model, she is really cute that one that mistake her for a gentle type but she is really crazy, very sassy and gentle at the same time. Audrey eye ball is ocean blue in colour and sometimes people wonder if she is putting on a eye contact.

She is very intelligent but she does not read much, she is also a shortie but not too short, her hair is the combination of black and silver and it’s so long which she doesn’t like but it’s suit her perfectly. She tried to dye it a lot but it’s end of being sliver and black once she sleep to wake up the next day, she also tried cutting it but something unbelievable happened.

“Yes you are right I’m weird, that why I made up my mind to go to UK”.

” Why do you wanna go to UK Audrey, you know your dad don’t want you there. Lisa said

“Well I need answers to my question and I feel I have the right to know what is going on with me, why the weird dreams and why am I so different “. Audrey said

“Jagi(meaning honey)I think you are just special and maybe that why you are all weird, yes you have the right to know what is going on but people are after your life in UK”Lisa said

“Someone is after my life in my dream Lisa and it’s really looks real”.

“Have you been watching too much of superstitions movie?, I think that might be the reason”.Lisa mumbled

“You know that not true, I have been having this dream since I clock 18 now and I will be 19 in a month time, so it’s now almost a year,I need answers, I need to know who is trying to kill me”. Audrey muttered .

“Okay I know you are a sassy and crazy type but how are you gonna fight the figure who is trying to kill you, you said the figure looks like a witch, why will you fight it?”Lisa said and Audrey bit her lips

“Oh shit I forgot you are one yourself” . Lisa said and Audrey glare at her.

” I have made plans for that Lisa and you know it”. Audrey said

“Okay, I know you are crazy but why that school out of all the school in UK Audrey, it’s said that something is’nt right about that school. A girl died there last month and they found her body in a wastebin, she is having a weird tears on her neck like claws” . Lisa said and Audrey smiled

“Reason why I wanna go Lisa, it’s weird and I don’t think I’m normal as well, so it’s the perfect college school to go”. Audrey muttered and Lisa smiled

“I heard there are young hot dude there you know, bad boys”Lisa said and Audrey put on an unread face.

Lisa noticed it and smirked sadly.

“you should be thinking about Joon-woo, it’s his loss he loose a precious gem like you” Lisa said but Audrey didn’t say anything.

“I need to pack my things, have you done yours?”. Audrey said trying to change the topic and Lisa got it immediately.

“Yes, I have, you know you can’t leave me here in Korea so I have to beg my parents in other for me to go to the UK with you and it’s quite easy for them to understand since we are close from childhood and our dad’s are partners.,And  I don’t wanna miss any drama you know”Lisa said and immediately someone barged into the room.

“Lisa I asked you to help me convince her not to leave but you already packed your things to?, Do you wanna go to that weird school with her?”. Nanny Na Yeon said

“No wonder you are here this early Lisa”. Audrey glared

“Good morning Nanny please we have had this conversation already , I will be going to UK and that’s it. Audrey said trying not to raise her voice

“Your dad didn’t approve that Audrey, you know it’s dangerous to go there and it’s for your safety”. Nanny Na Yeon said

“You don’t understand that word dangerous Nanny, I spend every night experience death for almost a year now, I need answers, I fucking need it. Audrey said almost in tears and immediately her cat showed up.

“Come here Mochi(meaning soft and fluffy),we need to get prepare so we won’t miss the flight”. Audrey said and carried Mochi as she entered her bathroom.

Nanny Na Yeon looked at Lisa and shook her head

“I tried my best Nanny, you know how Audrey is, she won’t listen to anyone once she makes up her mind to something”. Lisa defended herself

“But you don’t any object with going to that weird school that also have a weird name”.Nanny Na Yeon said

“it’s might just be a rumor nanny by the way we will both be together and it’s not boarding, we are now a college student, we will have each others back”.Lisa said and Mrs Na Yeon just shook her head and walked out.

Lisa immediately picked up her phone switch it on, it’s revealed a hot looking guy on her wallpaper.

“Just a little bit of step , will take me to you”.she said dreamily and kissed her phone.

    .

    .

    .

Audrey and Lisa walked out of the mansion with their suitcase. The driver and a bodyguard immediately helped them with it as they held to the car.

Nanny Na Yeon just watched them from afar.

Audrey opened the car door and paused, she looked back to look at her nanny but close her tears so she wont cry. “Yes she needs to go, she really need to do this. She need answers”.

She ignored her nanny teary face and entered the car with Lisa.

As they get in, Lisa looked at Audrey who closed her eyes tightly trying not to tear up.

“You were rude earlier to nanny Audrey”. Lisa said and Audrey keep on crying silently.

“I need answers to who I am Lisa and nanny na Yeon will surely try to convince me emotionally I needed to be cold. Audrey said.

“Take us the airport mister” . Audrey added as she carried Mochi and keep playing with her trying not to cry.

“You can let it out, stop trying to be so strong”.Lisa and but Audrey ignored it.

“Are you ready to face uncle in UK”. Lisa said and Audrey chuckled

“I think dad is keeping something from me, I’m now 18,I will find it out myself”Audrey mumbled and Lisa just nod.

    4PM~UK, THE RYU’S MANSION*

A grey jeep entered the big compound and finally stopped right in front of a huge building.

“We are here young miss” The driver said and Lisa yawned tiredly, flight all the way from Korea down here wasn’t easy at all,she wanted to pass out but Audrey was not a bit tired, she was just drinking water like it’s a energy drink.

“Mochi!!” She groaned almost forgetting the little white kitten on her laps.

“F+ck we are home, I’m so tired”.Lisa yawned again

Audrey and Lisa walked out of the car with Mochi. Audrey breathe in as she take her steps into the mansion with Lisa.

Immediately they entered the mansion, Mr Ryu is already waiting in the sitting room looking so angry.

“Get back to Korea now” Mr Ryu said and Audrey rolled her eyes

“I’m not leaving dad, I’m staying”.Audrey said and walked out heading upstairs.

“Young lady I’m not done with you yet, come back here”.Mr Ryu yelled and Audrey paused right on the stairs and looked back at her dad with a smile.

“I will be resuming to college tomorrow morning dad, and I will be going to silentitum college “Audrey said simply and walked out

“Did you hear what that brat just say, she want to go to thatcursed school? “.Mr Ryu looked at Lisa.

“I tried to convince her uncle but we both know Audrey, she is quite stubborn”Lisa said with a smile

“I’m sure she will hate that school within one week, no bodyguards, students of that school are rebellious and very bad, Audrey won’t feel comfortable there , so she will leave soon, just give her one week uncle”.Lisa muttered and mr Ryu shook his head

“I will also be there, you can prepare for a secret bodyguards if you are quite uncomfortable”.Lisa said and Mr Ryu smiled.

“Okay dear, you should go freshen up, you must be tired”.Mr Ryu said and Lisa smiled.

    At night.

Lisa and Audrey are both on the bed and Audrey is right in her phone making researches of things as always.

“Don’t be boring Audrey, let talk about the hot dudes we might come across tomorrow”. Lisa said and Audrey looked at her

“You know I’m not I’m for those stupid things, I only need answers”. Audrey said and Lisa shook her head

“you used to be so warm Audrey, what did your ex do to you or say to you that made you so cold”.Lisa said but Audrey closed her eyes.

“I want to sleep, goodnight”. Audrey mumbled and Lisa smiled as she thinks of her prince charming.

    .

    .

    .

                     SILENTITUM COLLEGE

All student walked in looking so smart in their different wears while some dressed Audrey and Lisa also walked in and all eyes turned to Audrey immediately.

“Oh gosh is that her hair”

    “It’s f+cking sliver”

    “She is beautiful”

“Gosh Catherine now have a rival”

“She is much pretty than Catherine”

“f+ck I’m hard because of her”

The students continue to talk and mumbled among themselves and some even start making videos .

“F+ck Audrey you are getting so popular right on the first day”.Lisa said but Audrey didn’t reply as always

A car drove roughly past them and made a dirty water splash on Audrey which made her gasp.

The students stopped making vedios of Audrey and rushed after the car as it’s slow down.

Three young hot guys walked out of the car. They are the “JEN” Boys.

They are in their third year in the university, very popular because they are models.

Jerry, the head of the team, he is really hot and a big time playboy, he f+cks every hole in the school but he is smart but when you are looking for number 1 playboy, then it’s Jerry and he is the son of the owner of the college, meaning he can fucking expel anyone

Ethan is the quiet one and also cold, he is always reading books and not just anyhow books but rated romantic books, he is very handsome but cold.

Nathaniel is also like Jerry but not like him because he doesn’t f+ck holes anyhow, he change his girlfriend every week unlike Jerry who doesn’t f+ck holes twices but girls rush to him since he is more handsome.

    “Jerry one night please”

    “Jerry I love you”

“Ethan please look at me “

    “Nathaniel you are handsome”

    “I love you Jerry”.

The students keep on shouting but Audrey keep on looking at her wet clothes.

She walked forward leaving Lisa who is busy looking at Ethan from afar and dreaming about him.

Audrey walked past the students and walked closer to the boys.

    “What is she doing”

“She is walking close to them”

“She is not even that pretty so bold of her”

Audrey ignored their words and walked closer to the boys.

“Who drove this car like a lunatic?. Audrey asked and everyone gasp.

Jerry looked at Audrey and smirked

“Hey shortie, do you want a night huh?, You don’t need to create a scence for that. Jerry said and the students laughed.

Audrey looked at enthan and saw he is busy reading books and looked so uninterested in what ever was going on.

She looked at Nathaniel and it’s looked like a glare, her blue eyes looked scary.

” I didn’t drive, it’s Jerry. Nathaniel quickly muttered and Audrey smiled

She walked back to the dirty water and opened her bag, she took our her water bottle and pour the water out.

She bend down and took the dirty water with mold

“Ewww what is hell is she doing”

    “So dirty”

Audrey ignored them and walked back to the boys.

“Apologize”. Audrey said simply and Jerry chuckled

“So much trouble just for a night?, I will gadly f+ck your p+ssy twice if that what you want”Jerry said and Audrey smiled

Lisa shook her head because she knows what that smile is for.

Audrey poured the dirty mold water right on Jerry and smirked

” So we are even now you moron”. Audrey said and moved back a bit as she bumbed into someone.

She wanted to slip but the person caught her by the waist.

Shit her dirty hands stained her saviour clothes and his face is really cold .

“I think this dude will kill me from staining his clothes, it’s f+cking white”.she screamed inwardly.

“What is he, he looks too cold”. Audrey thought and her saviour removed his hands from her waist making her to fall on her butts.

“The f+ck!!!, I should kill him”. Audrey muttered as she glare at the cold looking dude.

    TBC.

               Kayla’s Pov:

    Gosh….

I forgot my phone at the ward where Natasha was lying.

I headed back to the hospital.

And then straight to the ward

I can’t leave my phone here…. I need to make call with it.

I swing the door open and gasped.

I saw a nurse inside the ward

She was wearing a surgical mask.

She flinched immediately I walked into the ward.

“Uhm.. Am sorry for interrupting nurse, I just came to pick up something” I said as I walked towards her

I felt something unusual about her.

    It’s weird though.

    She gulped nervously.

“It’s OK!” She said in nervousness.

    That voice…

    So familiar!

And why is she with a syringe?

I thought the doctor said Natasha is feeling better now and should be taking drugs not injection.

    This is rather strange!

She picked up the syringe from the tray and tried to inject her.

“Nurse your voice sounds familiar…” I said sharply and she stopped.

She was visibly shaking in fear.

    “My… My… voice?” She stammered.

Now am convinced that something is really fishy.

I walked towards her and took off her mask.

    My jaw dropped….

    “Bianca?” I called in shock.

She quickly pushed me on the rough floor grinning…

“Your friend thought she could take Jay away from me? Hell no! I won’t let that happen” She cried out.

She brought out the syringe 💉

This time she was going to inject my friend.

I quickly sprang up with the last strength in me.

I gave her a resounding slap and pushed her away making the injection to fall off her hand.

    We started fighting.

She punched harder and harder but I defended myself.

Just then, Jay rushed into the ward and she let go of me immediately.

    “Bianca?” Jay called in shock.

She stood up while I lay on the ground in pain.

She quickly brought out a gun and pointed at us.

I can’t let her inject Natasha with the syringe.

    Never!

    **

    Few minutes later….

    Everyone was already present.

She was still holding the gun.

She had already inflicted bruises all over my body

And Natasha was awake as well.

“Please put the gun down Bianca” Jayden begged

“Hell no! I will only drop this gun if Jay will sign this marriage certificate” She pointed at some papers.

    We were visibly scared.

    This lady is crazy…

What if she pulls the trigger?

She was still yelling and screaming when suddenly we heard the police van sound.

    She was stunned!

“Who the heck called the cops?” She asked angrily

“Please Bianca you have to put the gun down” Natasha said as she quickly grabbed Natasha by the neck and pointed the gun to her head.

    We gasped in shock.

The police surrounded the place and entered the ward.

“Put your gun down right now and surrender” The police officer said

    She laughed hysterically.

“You think am joking right? You stupid police officers better put your gun down else I will blow her brains off” She threatened

    But the police refused.

“Please put the gun down” Mrs Bernard pleaded with the cops.

Just then, a young lady walked in.

    She was shedding tears.

“Doris? It was you? It was you who called the police?” Bianca asked anxiously.

    She nodded.

“Yes Bianca please put an end to this… Just come back to your senses and realize that Jay is not the one for you” Doris cried

“You back stabber! I thought you are my friend but you betrayed me” Bianca yelled

“I only did this for your own good… I don’t want you to land into trouble” Doris begged

“Shut the fvck up…. If you really cared about me then you won’t involve the police but I don’t care I must have Jayden” Bianca screamed

“What’s going on here?” a voice said and we turned around

           Natasha’s Pov:

I was already choking from the strong grip of Bianca on my neck.

    Someone walked into the ward.

It was the almighty Governor Greg Adams.

    A governor in my ward.

“Dad?” Jayden called as I became mute.

Did Jay just called Governor Greg dad?

I thought he told me he grew in an orphanage.

He told me that he’s orphan… a poor one at that.

I turned to him with a questioning look and he bowed his head.

“Jayden is the Governor your father?” I asked rather confused

“He never told you?” The governor’s wife replied.

“Am sorry I lied to you Natasha” He managed to say.

I shook my head in disbelief

“What’s going on here?” I asked anxiously now in tears.

“Listen Natasha, Jay only lied to you because he wanted to find true love… Just like you he has been through a lot in the hands of women who only came after him because he was the wealthy governor’s son so he decided to move from Quezon City to Manila where no one knows his real identity” Marvin defended him.

    I couldn’t say a word cos I was gobsmacked.

    I can’t believe this…

So Jayden is the Governor’s son.

The second richest family in the whole Philippines.

Governor Greg Adams and his wife Lady Monica Adams…

    I gulped.

But the moment was interrupted when Bianca yelled at us to shut up.

Immediately, Jayden snatched the gun from Bianca.

    And Bianca pulled the trigger.

Jayden fell on the ground in the pool of his blood.

    “JAYDEN??” We called in shock.

The gun fell from Bianca’s hand and tears welled down her cheeks.

“Oh no! my Jayden?” She called as she fell on her knees.

The police dragged her away as she struggled to free herself.

    I quickly hugged Doris.

    Immediately, we heard a gunshot.

    It was Bianca…

She tried to escape but the police shot her and she died at the spot.

Luckily for us, Jayden was rushed into the theater and his surgery was successful.

    He survived

    **

I walked down the aisle slowly as tears of joy dropped down my face.

And finally am getting married to “THE GUY NEXT DOOR” despite all odds.

We held hands and walked to the altar.

“NATASHA BERNARD DO YOU TAKE JAYDEN ADAMS AS YOUR LAWFULLY WEDDED HUSBAND FOR RICHER OR POORER IN SICKNESS AND HEALTH TILL DEATH DO YOU PART?” The priest asked.this story is written by Pinky Preshy Chioma.

“I do” I said as my face beamed with smiles.

Jay air kissed me… he’s so naughty

“JAYDEN ADAMS DO YOU TAKE NATASHA BERNARD AS YOUR LAWFULLY WEDDED WIFE FOR RICHER OR POORER IN SICKNESS AND HEALTH TILL DEATH DO YOU PART?” The priest asked

    “I do!” he said sharply.

“You may kiss the bride” The priest said as our lips glued together.

We hopped into the wedding car and it drove off.

A “Happy married life” label was pinned to the car.

We held hands as we hugged each other tightly.

Kayla’s boyfriend later impregnated another girl.

Marvin  got married to my bestie Kayla.

    How sweet

    We lived happily ever after!

    __________________________

    Slade motherf+ckin’ Luther!

He took off his glasses and dropped it on the ground, matching over it and crumbling it to pieces under his black shoe as he advanced with the darkest aura ever.

Greg looks flabbergasted, and Dr. Kali gasped, same with Echo.

As for Twilight, shock is too small to express what she’s feeling right now, and her eyes are so wide.

She couldn’t believe her eyes, not until Slade got to the chief official and slid his palm into his neck brutally.

The man let out a grunted cry as Slade pushed him back, slamming his back on the bulldozer.

The metals on the body of the bulldozer pierced into his back, and his blood bathed the bulldozer tyre.

Twilight swallowed, moving back from her spot as she watched the horror show with her eyes still dilated.

The remaining officials began running away, but Slade glared his eyes at them, and the ground below one of them broke, swallowing him

He sank down, and sand covered him, burying him alive so fast.

The remaining two stopped running when they saw what had happened. They held each other tightly, hoping the ground won’t swallow them too.

Twilight began shivering, going behind her father to stay.

Echo and Dr. Kali held on to each other, they’re not breathing at all.

Slade shifted his attention away from that angle and returned his eyes to the one he’s pinning to the bulldozer.

He’s already bleeding from the mouth too, and the blood from his back hasn’t stopped pouring on the tyre.

    “Pl… please…spare…

Slade tightened his hold on his neck, and he stopped speaking.

“Who sent you here?” Slade’s unfeeling voice finally filtered out.

“It’s… it’s a student from the university. She didn’t… didn’t give us a name.. she just payed us to come here and act as government officials…and destroy the cottage” the bleeding man replied, foaming from the mouth.

“Tall? Plump lips? Annoyingly dark hair?” Slade described.

“Y..yes..ckk… she’s the one!” The man bled out again, and Slade let go of him.

He fell heavily on the ground and began crawling back to the other two.

Slade already turned his back on him, but the devil inside him wasn’t satisfied.

He rolled his eyes and turned back to the crawling man.

He was still crawling on the sand when Slade raised his leg on his neck.

He brought the leg down to the man’s neck, snapping it completely with his shoe sole.

The breaking of the neck bone could be heard as his tongue stretched out of his mouth.

He died on the spot, and Slade dropped his leg smoothly.

Twilight held her father tight, her knuckles shaking on his shirt.

The remaining two fake officials began peeing on themselves, crying and going on their knees to beg.

“You know what you shouldn’t do in this town so far I’m in it?” Slade said without batting a lid as he faced them.

“Do not touch my slave. How many times do I need to say that again and again? I am the only one who has that right” He said, his eyes still glaring.

“We’re… we’re sorry” they stammered, bowing their heads in front of him like a god.

Slade pulled up the first one and snapped his neck so easily.

He threw his body down, and the second man closed his eyes and began praying for the forgiveness of his sins as more pee poured out of his p+nis, wetting his pants.

“You will go back to your boss” Slade said, and he opened his eyes.

    “Huh?”

“Go back to her, and kill her. If you don’t, I’ll f+çking kill you myself” Slade said, and he rushed to his feet.

“Yes! I’ll… I’ll do it!” He breathlessly said and ran off like the wind without looking back.

Slade faced the fearful audience with a almost-faded smirk, then he began walking to them.

Twilight pushed Greg behind herself this time to protect him, but Greg came back to the front.

“You might get hurt papa” she pulled him.

“If he wanted to kill me, he wouldn’t help me kill the officials” Greg replied boldly, walking forward to meet Slade halfway.

“You’re the popular Slade Luther of the university” he said.

“In the flesh” Slade replied, his tone still as ominous.

“Thank you. I appreciate you helping me save my cottage, but I’m a man of peace, and i don’t like the killings you did. You killed four people” Greg said.

“So? You want me to wake them and get the f+ck out of here?” Slade replied, his brows rumpling.

“No no no I don’t mean that…but is there a price? You don’t have a reason to do that so I’m thinking…

“That’s a talk between Light and I” Slade cut him off, and Twilight’s heart skipped beats behind Greg.

Her eyes met with Slade’s, and the intentional smirk she met on his face was evil.

She quickly looked away, and Slade returned his eyes to Greg.

“You’re the father of the slave? Your resemblance is striking” he said.

    “Slave? My daughter is not…

“You can’t do denial in front of me, old man. I know you’re aware, but take your time. The judgement day is not now” Slade said and took a step back.

“There’s an evening class today, right? Meet me after the class for the payment” he told Twilight before turning around, walking back to his car.

He drove off smoothly, and Twilight released the breaths she has been holding.

“What was he talking about? You’re aware of what?” She asked Greg immediately.

“It’s nothing, he was only babbling…what would I possibly know?” Greg awkwardly replied, and Dr. Kali noticed it.

“He’s…chilly. I swear I couldn’t breath when he was killing the men, especially the one the ground swallowed. Is there something he can’t do with his ring?” Echo said.

“All the warnings I made about staying away from him obviously didn’t work” Dr. Kali said.

“It’s impossible to stay away from him when he’s always around me. I didn’t even invite him here but yet he came. He’s like a ghost and I’m terrified of him too!” Twilight replied.

“Fine…you both go back to the car” Dr. Kali said, and Echo pulled Twilight.

They returned to the car, and Dr. Kali faced Greg who looks so lost in thoughts.

“I know you know something, Greg. Slade doesn’t talk without a deep meaning. What’s the thing about Twilight being his slave?” She asked.

“I dunno too, Kali. He’s probably delusional” Greg shrugged.

“No he’s not. It didn’t look like it, Greg. Tell me what’s happening. What’s the connection between Slade and Twilight?” Kali demanded again.

“Kali!” Greg snapped at her, and she sighed.

“I know nothing…he doesn’t look normal so he’s probably trashing. Go back to school, Kali” he continued.

Kali didn’t say a thing again before going to join the girls in the car.

She drove off, and Greg squatted by the door of the cottage, holding his head.

“I’m so sorry.. Twilight… I’m sorry” he muttered.

    *

    UNIVERSITY OF GLENNVILLE, 2PM*

A brown car stood in front of the large front gate, the tinted windows winded up.

Inside the car, Grandpa Cedric is sitting beside his driver, and he’s staring out like he’s waiting for someone.

His waiting ended when Dr. Kali’s car drove up the hill.

Echo and Twilight came down from the car, and Dr. Kali drove inside.

“Slade was able to track you cos of the GPS microchip on your arm I think. Maybe it’s not that bad, maybe you shouldn’t remove it” Echo said.

“What are you saying? I can’t have someone like him hovering around me” Twilight replied.

Grandpa Cedric came down from the car so fast, and the two girls stopped talking to face him.

“You’re Twilight, aren’t you?” He smiled at her.

He recognizes her cos of her unaware pictures Uriel sent to him.

    “Yeah, sir” Twilight respectfully replied.

    “It’s a pity… you’re so beautiful” Grandpa Cedric said.

“What do you mean?” Twilight asked with a frown.

“It’s nothing, I only came to take a look at you as you’re the only key to saving my grandson” he smiled, confusing her more.

He got a contact card from his driver and gave it to her.

“Feel free to call me for any assistance. I’m aware that your family is not doing ok” he said and got back in his car.

He smiled at Twilight again through the window before driving down the hill.

“Girl! You just hit jackpot I swear to f+ck!” Echo gasped.

“What do you mean? A stranger came up to me and said weird things about me and my family then handed me a contact card and that’s suddenly jackpot?” Twilight faced her.

“That’s no stranger, that’s Grandpa Cedric Luther! He’s like the king of this town don’t you know the Luther family? They’re the richest in this town gosh! You need to see their island!” Echo gushed.

“Ok…this only got stranger…who are the Luther family?” Twilight blinked.

    “Oh…” Echo mumbled.

“I forgot you were a hermit who never came out of the cottage when you were still at home, so how would you even know what’s going on in town? Well the Luthers are one rich @ss family, they have old money that’s never gonna finish… They’re a family of six…Grandpa Cedric, Timothy the father, Stella the mother, then their three kids, they’re called the Luther kids” Echo said, interlocking her fingers with Twilight’s as they entered the gate.

“I’m guessing you dunno the names of the kids” Twilight chuckled.

“Yeah, the kids lives has always been private, but I know they’re two boys and a girl, and they’re all hot!” Echo winked, and Twilight chuckled again.

“You’re really crazy about this Luther family “

“Who wouldn’t? But I’m happy you got noticed by the grandpa. He might want you for one of his grandsons, who knows?” Echo winked again.

“Stop winking, and that’s not possible…I’m not even that pretty” Twilight muttered.

“Says who? My friend you’re beau-beau!” Echo winked for the third time.

“Aww, I’m touched, but I still don’t know what Slade is gonna ask. Honestly I don’t even wanna meet him” Twilight sighed.

“No worries… He’s not gonna ask for your life” Echo said, and Twilight shrugged as they finally entered their department.

The first person Echo noticed was Ruslan. He’s coming from the opposite direction with Tamlin.

Tamlin smiled largely when he saw Twilight, and Echo’s heart raced when she had an eye contact with Ruslan.

“Hey… wanna grab late lunch?” Tamlin asked.

“Sure, I and Echo will join you” Twilight replied.

“No you can leave. I need to talk with Ruslan” Echo said.

“Me?” Ruslan blinked, and she nodded.

“I’ll see you in the last class then” Twilight said, and Echo nodded as she left with Tamlin.

“What’s there to talk about?” Ruslan asked.

“Are you seriously asking that question? You told me to wait for you but you never came. I got bitten by a snake and Slade had to remove the venom from my leg with a knife. He even used me to blackmail Twi afterwards, and I almost died of heart attack, but you’re asking what’s there to talk about?” Echo said all at once, and and Ruslan frowned so deep like she’s some shit.

    “Are you high?” He said.

    “What!” Her jaws dropped.

“Hey! Rus!” Imogen’s voice broke into the conversation.

Imogen appeared with her gang… Ren and Posey behind her.

She hugged Ruslan, taking him by surprise, then she proceeded to kissing him straight on the lips.

Echo’s heart fell, and she pushed Posey out of her way before rushing off.

They all bursted into an heavy laughter, and Imogen snickered before letting go of Ruslan whose eyes are still so wide.

“Breathe, oh boy” she patted his cheek with her black nails, then she left with her dogs.

Ruslan remained standing on that spot for minutes, then he smiled and touched his lips.

He bit it before walking away with his smile intact.

    *

    REFECTORY*

Tamlin ordered a full table of lunch, and it was the special maids who served the meals.

Twilight kept gasping as each meal landed on the table, and when the maids were done, she faced Tamlin who’s sitting on the other end of the table.

    “What?” His eyes shrank.

“Why so many? Who’d finish them?” She said.

“The maids can have the leftovers” Tamlin replied nonchalantly, getting his fork.

“Maids are humans too yunno?” She replied, and he looked up to see a hurt look in her eyes.

“Before my mama got diagnosed with schizophrenia, she was a maid at a dinner house” she said, and Tamlin slowly dropped his fork.

“I’m… I’m sorry I didn’t mean it that way” he said.

“It’s fine” she replied with a light smile, taking her fork, but then she realized none of the foods on the table is her favorite at all.

She loves fish, but fish is not even present, just beef which was Isobel’s favorite. She’s a big fan of fruit juice too, but there’s only grape wine which was Isobel’s favorite too.

Tamlin had prepared everything using late Isobel’s preference.

“You don’t like them?” He asked when he noticed her eyes.

“No…it’s fine” she smiled and began eating the beef slowly.

“You’ll probably spend two hours eating one small meat” Tamlin teased.

“How do you know I’m a slow eater?” She laughed.

“I just know” he replied, noticing her hair is hindering her from eating well.

He stood and came behind her chair then gathered her hair in his palm and tied it with a rubber band from his pocket.

“Thank you” she smiled as he returned to his seat.

“Welcome” he smiled back, then they resumed their meals, though Tamlin couldn’t stop staring throughout.

From the top stairs of the refectory, Slade stood by the rails, his right hand on top of the rails and his left hand in his pocket.

He’s watching them like a hawk, his eyes on the meals which all smell disgusting to him.

    Food is mundane, and boring.

The way they’re eating and smiling at each other is the most annoying part.

What are they smiling about? Why would they even smile?

He raised his right pointer finger a bit, and the ceiling above the two tore apart, crashing down on the dinning table and wasting the food away.

The plates and meals scattered all-over the ground, and Twilight almost fell to the ground as a scream left her throat.

Tamlin ran to quickly cover her, holding her head to his chest.

“You ok?” He asked, and she slowly looked up.

“Yeah…yeah I’m fine” she swallowed, looking around.

She could feel goosebumps on her skin… Definitely, Slade did it.

Slade smirked and left the rails, exiting the refectory through the backdoor.

    “Boss!” Uriel blocked him outside.

“Grandpa Cedric visited this school today, and he met her. I eavesdropped on her conversation with Echo earlier. He even gave her a card” he reported.

    “And?” Slade faced him.

“What do you mean? What if he kills her behind your back? You said you don’t wanna kill her yet” Uriel replied.

“The curse won’t be lifted if I’m not the one who kills her, so there’s no f+çking way Grandpa is killing her. He’s only forming a pity relationship with her, he’s damn generous like that” Slade said.

    “I forgot” Uriel nodded.

“And about the elixir?” Slade asked, and Uriel quickly handed him a tab.

“Apparently, the real source of the elixir is not known by any living thing, and the distribution started this year.” He reported as Slade scrolled through the tab.

“Started this year? But students have been going missing every month in this school for five years now” Slade replied.

“Yeah. That means they’ve been on the project for five years, and it only became successful this year, which is why they started distribution. They were kidnapping one student per month before it’s success, but now that they’re sure about the success and almost every rich person wants it, I think they’ll increase the number of their kidnaps. Maybe three students per month” Uriel said.

“Tomorrow is this month end, meaning they’ll either come for the next kidnap today or tomorrow” Slade said, closing the tab.

    “Yes” Uriel nodded.

“I’ll handle it” Slade replied and started leaving, but he suddenly turned back with his right side…

“They’ve been doing it easily for five years…this only means they have an insider working for them. It might be one of the sponsors…” He said.

“Or a student” Uriel finished up, and Slade left afterwards.

    *

    ADMIN OFFICE*

Lord Vann just finished meeting with the other sponsors in the front hall, and their discussion was solely about the 12 midnight killings, but as usual, there was no proffered solution.

He looks so stressed as he entered the office and loosened his tie.

He got a bottle of water from his small office freezer and drank, his mind going to Twilight again.

Why the hell did she get her admission letter from a dead person?

Is she gonna be useful in this school at all? Or was he wrong?

He’s still on his thinking pedestal when the door opened, and Lorraine came in.

She’s dressed in one of her fancy gowns as usual, this one is colour blue, and red slender heels that are so tall. Her lips are redder with the lipstick too, and her hair is falling sleek on her @ss like it does.

“You were still sore this morning” Vann said, rushing to her.

“I got better this noon, and I decided to resume my duty. You can’t do it alone yunno” she smiled, giving him a light kiss.

Her lipstick stained his lips, and she wiped it with her thumb.

“Are you sure? What if Slade hurts you again?” He said, and she smiled, taking his bottled water before walking away from him.

She got to the window and drank from it, then she stared out of the window before talking…

“Slade doesn’t know who he’s messing with. He’ll beg at my feet, trust me” she muttered.

    *

“Imogen, someone is here to see you!” A young student reported, and Imogen’s laughter stopped.

She’s actually in the garden with her dogs.

    “Someone?” She stood.

“He’s waiting at the observatory” the student replied and left.

“You didn’t tell me you’re now into older men” Ren laughed.

“Shut up” Imogen rolled eyes, and he grinned.

“Don’t take long, you know Slade’s class is in thirty minutes and you can’t miss it” Posey reminded.

“Of course” Imogen smiled before leaving.

She was led to the observatory where she met the last fake official waiting.

“What the hell are you doing here? How did you even enter the school?” She demanded with wide eyes, and he raised Imogen’s keychain which has her signature and passport.

“Did you forget you gave us this? The guards allowed me in after I showed them” he said.

“Is the cottage destroyed? Wait…where are the rest of y’all?” She asked.

“They’re dead.” he replied, coming closer.

“What are you saying?” She gasped.

“And now I’m here to kill you!” He grinded and got a machete from under his shirt.

He took off with insane speed, coming after her with it.

“You bloody shitface!” She gasped, but she didn’t wait.

She took off, running crazily out of the observatory.

As if under a spell, he ran after her, and she ran faster.

“F+çking bullhead! Are you on drugs? Get away!!!” She screamed as she ran, jumping over the stairs to the second building which is the psychology departmental bloc.

The man jumped over the stairs too, almost slashing her with the machete, but she rolled forward on the ground, avoiding it.

The machete cut the ground instead, and cobblestones flew up as he went after her again.

“Help!!!” Imogen screamed, and as they ran and jumped past classes, students trooped out to watch the spectacle

Within a minute, the windows became so full of onlooking students who’re screaming and enjoying the show.

Imogen kept looking back as she ran for dear life, but no matter how fast she ran, the man covered the space.

He suddenly threw the cutlass forward, and her eyes widened as it came for her.

“No” she muttered, expecting it to hit her in the head, but Tamlin suddenly jumped into the hallway.

He was coming from the refectory with Twilight when he saw the scene.

He caught the machete and threw it back at the man.

The weapon entered the man’s chest, and his blood filled the hallway as he fell down dead in the pool.

Tamlin released a hard breath, and Imogen rushed to hug him.

“You’re the best big brother!” She smiled, but he pushed her off.

    “Who’s he?” He demanded.

“No one” she lied, and he immediately pulled her hand, taking her out of the hallway.

Twilight is still in the middle of the crowd, looking at the man’s body on the ground.

She recognized him as the official Slade sent back from the cottage.

This only means it was Imogen who sent them. So Imogen has that much power?

She payed men old enough to be her father?

Twilight was biting her lip anxiously as she left the hallway, but then she saw Slade.

He’s entering the staff washroom down the hall, so she followed.

    *

    WASHROOM*

Slade finished washing his hand like he does to calm, and he was drying it with a towel when his phone rang.

His eyes darkened when he saw the number, and swiped green, but no voice came from the other end.

“Congratulations on your killing last night. You hung him on the orange tree cutely, but have it in mind that when we meet again, I’m grinding you in a milling machine” he smirked, swiping his tongue over his lips smoothly.

Without replying, the person hung up, and Slade’s phone beeped before he took it away from his ear.

He began staring at the phone screen blankly, his palm wrapping harder on the body.

“What the f+ck are you doing here?” He asked, knowing Twilight is behind him already.

When she didn’t reply, he turned to her and found her standing there.

“It was Imogen who sent the men” she said.

    “And?” He said icily.

“We still have ten minutes before your class, so I was thinking you’d tell me what you want as payment before the class” she said, hiding her fingers coz they’re shaking.

Being in the same space with him is not funny, her bones are freezing.

Slade’s eyes moved to her hair, and she pinched her own nails as he came closer, his steps so straight.

He’s out of his coat now, so he’s in his black dress shirt and perfectly ironed black pants.

She shifted back, but he grabbed her by the arm, making her gasp.

He turned her around, so her back is on him.

    “What are you…

Before she could land, he ripped away the rubber band in her hair__the one Tamlin banded it with earlier.

Her hair poured on her shoulders beautifully.

“Bastard!” She struggled, trying to turn back to him, but he grabbed her other arm too, pushing her to the zinc bowl and pinning her there.

“Let go of me, Slade. Let go of me!” She struggled again, and he pushed himself to her body, so his front side is pressing on her backside.

She could feel him__his bulge, on her buttocks, and his smirk on her skin.

“Stay still. I know hundred and fifty ways to quickly make things ugly in here, and you won’t f+çking like it” he warned, his voice filling the room.

“What do you want? Tell me the payment and let me go” she replied, staying still.

“Put your hands on the zinc bowl” he ordered.

    “Why?” She gulped.

“Put your hands on the zinc bowl, Light” he rigidly said, his voice leaving blood trails on her essence.

She held the zinc bowl with shaky hands, and she heard his animalistic growl.

“I’m taking the payment, right now” he said, and the next thing she felt was his hand gripping her skirt.

She wanted to scream, but she couldn’t,, he probably stole her voice, and she couldn’t struggle either, so she bit back her tears as she submitted to his cruel manipulation.

Slade pulled up her jean skirt and grabbed her bare @ss fully with his two hands.

They filled his hands up, and he cupped the soft skin in his palm.

“Your virginity…I want your blood on my c+ck” he whispered with an insane thrill.

    ‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡

I needed answers, and I needed them now. I slowly got out of bed, my legs shaking beneath me. I stumbled towards the door, determined to find out what had happened to me.
As I reached the door, I realized it was locked. I was trapped. Panic set in, and I started banging on the door, screaming for help.
But my cries were met with silence. No one came to my aid. I was alone, and I was at their mercy.
I slid to the floor, defeated and helpless. Tears streamed down my face as I realized the true extent of my situation.
I was a prisoner, and I had no idea what my captors had planned for me.
As I sat there, feeling hopeless and trapped, I heard footsteps outside the door. My heart racing, I looked up to see Ekene standing in the doorway, a sly smile spreading across his face.
    .
“I see you’re feeling a bit better.” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm
I glared at him, my @nger and h*tred burning brighter than ever before.
“What do you want from me?” I screamed, my voice laced with ven0m. “I trusted you, Ekene! I thought you were helping me out of my mess, but instead, you’re a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Tell me, what’s my offense? Why did you and your people choose to hurt me??”
I sobbed uncontrollably, the tears streaming down my face. My body shook with rage and hurt, as I confronted the betrayal.
Ekene chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement.
“Are you done ranting?? so, at your age, you can still be fooled….ha ha ha.. he laughed sacarstically shaking his head. “I can’t believe the overhyped, almighty Nonye could be fooled so easily, by the way, you should thank your star because by now you shouldn’t be able to walk not to talk of ranting, if Ada hadn’t intervened on your behalf, you should be in a much worse state or even under medication by now…mtchhewww”….he hissed, his expression scornful…
    then continued
…”As for what we want from you, you’re going to find out soon enough.”
And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving me feeling more confused and terrified than ever before.
I stood up and began pacing around the room, desperate to make sense of what he said about me being in a ‘much worse state’…”could it be true? No! It can’t be!”
The more I thought about it, the more confused I became. I moved closer to the bed, intending to gather my clothes and freshen up. That’s when I stumbled upon a clue that answered my question. A faint bl00d stain on the bed, barely visible unless you looked closely, caught my attention.
My heart sank as the harsh reality hit me, I had lost my dignity. A scream escaped my lips as the weight of what had happened crushed me. My mind was racing with questions as I stared at the stain.
“W..h..y?” was the only word I could utter, my voice trembling with pain. Tears flowed freely as I struggled to come to terms with what had happened.
I tried putting myself together in the bathroom to clean up, I returned to the room, dressed and sat on the bed, lost in thought. The pain of being defiled at the wrong time and by the wrong people was almost too much to bear.
I could hear my stomach growling with hunger, making strange noises. I knew I needed to eat something soon.
I stood up and looked around the room, hoping to find something to eat, but there was nothing. I felt a wave of sadness and disappointment wash over me, and my heart ached with hunger. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, threatening to spill over.
It was as if they could see right through me. The door opened, and a lady around my age walked in with a tray in her hand. She approached me and set the tray down on the floor. “I was told to bring your food,” she said, turning to leave.
I called out to her, “Wait!” And she obeyed. “Who asked you to bring me food?” I asked. “And who are you, by the way?”
She hesitated, “Sorry, ma. I’m not supposed to say anything other than what I said earlier.”
With that, she quickly ran out of the room and closed the door behind her. I wondered who she could be and what she was doing there, but I couldn’t figure it out.
I opened the plate and was greeted by the aroma of jollof rice and chicken. My stomach growled, reminding me how hungry I was. For a moment, I forgot my pains and troubles. I made a quick prayer before devouring the meal.
As I ate, I couldn’t help but think about the mysterious lady who had brought me food. Who was she? And why had she been so secretive?
I finished my meal and pushed the tray aside. I was feeling a bit more energized now, but my mind was still racing with questions.
I stood up and began to pace around the room, trying to make sense of everything that had happened. But the more I thought about it, the more confused I became.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps outside the room. just then, the door opened, and he walked in, behind him was the lady that brought me food, he ordered her to pack the tray and leave.
“Get up and follow me,” he commanded.
I stood up, my heart racing with anticipation, and trailed behind him as we walked through the hallway. The sound of our footsteps echoed off the walls, leading us to a spacious sitting room.
Ada, Chuks, Steve now with them, and two other girls were already seated, their eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity.
I was instructed to stand amidst them, feeling like a specimen under scrutiny. Ada began to speak, her voice dripping with an air of superiority.
“Nonye, I know how much you’ve missed home. By the way, your roommate has reported you missing in school. So, I’ll be releasing you now, but not before you understand why you’re here.”
Ada produced a photograph from the bag beside her, a sly smile spreading across her face. “You see, I’ve been searching for the perfect person for this assignment, but to no avail. However, I now realize you’re the ideal candidate.”
My anxiety grew as Ada continued, “Don’t be scared; it’s straightforward. All I need you to do is get close to this lady,” she said, handing me the photograph.
“…Become friends with her, I mean close friends, and then, you’ll convince her to attend a party with you.”
I felt a surge of unease as I looked at the photograph…the lady look a bit familiar but i couldn’t fathom where I knew her face from, who was this lady, and what did Ada want from her? I thought within me
“But why am I the one fitted for this?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Ada’s gaze lingered on me before she responded, “Looking at the photograph, you’ll notice that the only discernible difference between you and Evelyn is your facial appearance. Interestingly, she’s also a spiritual individual, but much like you claimed to be. however, her abilities are far more exceptional. I intend to bring her under my control, just as I have with you but the challenge lies in approaching her, as she’s proven to be elusive. I believe that if you get close to her, she’ll let her guard down, assuming you share similar spiritual inclinations.”
I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized the true extent of Ada’s plan. what had I gotten myself into? she wanted to use me to get to Evelyn, to manipulate her and bring her under her control.
“But why me?” I repeated, trying to understand the depth of Ada’s plan.
Ada’s smile grew wider. “You’re the perfect pawn, Nonye. You have a certain innocence about you. Evelyn will trust you, and once she lets her guard down, we’ll have her right where we want her.”
I felt a wave of nausea wash over me. I was being used, manipulated, and controlled. And I had no idea how to escape Ada’s web of deceit.
“What if I refuse?” I asked, trying to sound braver than I felt.
Ada’s expression turned cold, her eyes glinting with malice. “You won’t refuse, Nonye. You’ll do exactly as I say, or you’ll suffer the consequences. Do I make myself clear?”
“And what if she discovers my true intentions?” I asked, trying to sound calm despite the turmoil brewing inside me.
Ada’s smile was icy. “That won’t happen, Nonye. You’ll make sure of it. You’ll gain her trust, and once you do, we’ll take care of the rest.”
I swallowed hard, feeling like I was drowning in Ada’s web of deceit. I knew I had to find a way out, but for now, I was trapped.
Ada handed me a small folder containing Evelyn’s personal details and a few photographs.
    “Study this carefully,” she instructed.
“…Learn everything you can about her. I want you to be able to anticipate her every move.”
I took the folder, feeling a sense of trepidation. I was being asked to betray someone’s trust, to manipulate and deceive. But I knew I had no choice. Ada had me right where she wanted me.
“But wait, is she a student in the same school with us? I asked, trying to sound calm.
“Yes, she’s currently in her first year, pursuing  a degree in Economics, mind you, you have just two weeks to get close to Evelyn and convince her to attend a party with you” Ada replied. “After that, we’ll take care of the rest.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of dread wash over me. I knew I had to think fast if I wanted to escape Ada’s clutches.
“Chuks, please help her out,” she said.
Chuks walked me out to the compound where the party had been held earlier. He started the car and drove us out of the mansion.
I left Ada’s mansion with a sense of unease, feeling like I was walking into a trap. The folder containing Evelyn’s information weighed heavily in my hands, a constant reminder of the task ahead.
As I made my way back to my dorm, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I was being watched. I glanced over my shoulder, but there was no one there.
I quickened my pace, my heart racing with anticipation. I knew I had to come up with a plan, and fast. But for now, I was stuck in Ada’s web of deceit, forced to play along until I could find a way out.
I arrived at my dorm only to find Rachel and Blessing were out, I checked out for the key to unlock the room and luckily  I found it where it’s usually being kept whenever we leave for lecture, using the opportunity of my roommates’ not around…I locked myself up in the room, determined to study Evelyn’s file and come up with a strategy. But as I opened the folder, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt.
“was I really going to betray Evelyn’s trust, just to save myself? I pondered.

“So, which one do you want to try first?” I inquired, my gaze fixed on Genevieve, who was intently studying the two dishes before her, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

It took every ounce of restraint not to chuckle at her adorableness. The way she scrutinized the plates was almost comical, as if she were weighing the pros and cons of diving into the unknown.

“Which one tastes better than it looks? Some dishes can be deceiving—looking delightful but tasting dreadful,” she mused, her brow furrowing slightly.

“Well, my love, I can assure you that both of these meals are nothing short of divine.” Locking my eyes with hers, I gestured toward the first dish. “This is plov—a delightful medley of rice, vibrant veggies, and tender chicken. I promise, it’s worth a bite.”

With a nod of determination, Genevieve picked up a spoon, her movements deliberate. She hovered it over the fluffy rice, then tentatively took a small bite. I watched, captivated, as her expression transitioned from cautious curiosity to sheer delight, a radiant glimmer igniting in her eyes.

“So?” I prompted, even though her reaction already told me everything I needed to know. She responded by scooping another spoonful, relishing the flavors. “Do you like it.”

“Hmm, it’s fine,” she replied, masking her enthusiasm with a nonchalant facade.

“Just fine?” I pressed, amused by her playful defiance. A small shrug was her only answer. “Alright. The other dish is Pelmeni—Russia’s unofficial national dish. They call it ‘the heart of Russian cuisine.’ It’s a delicate pasta-like dough filled with savory minced meat.” I leaned in closer, a teasing smirk on my lips. “Perhaps this one will meet your lofty standards, huh, my love.”

With an exaggerated eye roll, she picked up a fork, skewering one of the dumplings before taking a slow, deliberate bite. As she chewed, the spark returned to her eyes, and I couldn’t help but smile at the beauty before me, radiant in her enjoyment.

“You like this one?” I asked, my heart swelling with affection.

“Hmm, it’s fine,” she repeated, her tone feigning indifference.

I chuckled, unable to contain my amusement. “Genevieve.”

“What?” she replied, her clueless game almost too charming to resist.

    “You won’t say anything?”

“About what?” She pursed her lips, the corners twitching as she struggled to suppress the grin that threatened to bloom across her face.

I caught a glimpse of it, and she, in turn, noticed my effort to remain stoic. With a playful wink, she sent my resolve tumbling, but I fought to maintain my composure. If she can hide her smile, then so can I.

Before I could wallow in my sulking, like a drenched puppy abandoned in the rain, Genevieve took pity on me. “I love it. They are both delicious.”

I believed her, not just because she never lies to me, but because I had poured my heart into making them. It took two to four hours, the warm cadence of Genevieve’s laughter intertwining with her soft, random kisses, coaxing me through the cooking process. Trust me, I wasn’t complaining.

“Which one do you like better?”

“The Plov. I pronounced it well, didn’t I?”

    “Yes, you did, Vixen.”

Her smile lit up the room, and despite my distraction, I slid the bowl of Plov toward her. To my surprise, her eyes seemed to shimmer even more, radiating a warmth that enveloped me—a blend of love and bliss that was utterly intoxicatiñg.

I watched as she filled her empty stomach with food, a sight that made my heart swell. Thanks to my uncle’s appearance, she had skipped breakfast, and seeing her savor each bite felt like a small victory.

“Genevieve?” Her gaze locked onto mine, and in that instant, the world around us faded, leaving only her.

Every time our eyes met like that, it felt like a collision of stars, the force of it knocking the breath from my lungs. I struggled to draw in air, captivated by the depth of her hypnotizing gaze.

“God, you’re beautiful,” I blurted, the words slipping out like a confession.

“Thanks?” she replied, a hint of confusion lacing her voice, which only prompted a chuckle from me. “Is that why you called me?”

“No. I actually wanted to tell you something, but I got sidetracked.”

“Oh.” She nodded, her curiosity piqued. “Are you on the right track now?”

“Uh-huh. Tomorrow, I have somewhere to go. Would you like to come?”

Typically, I wouldn’t bring anyone other than Cassidy, my secretary, to work events, but I had a surprise for Genevieve that I simply couldn’t wait to unveil. Plus, there was the matter of Ivan Morozov looming in the background.

“Sure. SU is on winter holidays, so I’m free.”

“Great! We can do some sightseeing along the way. I’ll show you a lot of interesting places here in Moscow; I bet you’ll love it.”

“Bet. I love everything I do with you,” she replied, her voice a melody that resonated deep within me.

    ••

The following day arrived with an urgency that caught me off guard. One moment, I was enveloped in the warmth of my girlfriend, her intoxicating scent wrapping around me like a comforting shroud; the next, I was jolted from the tranquility of sleep by the insistent ring of an alarm I had definitely not set.

Groaning, I buried my face deeper into the crook of her neck, inhaling the sweet, familiar fragrance that lingered there. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she instinctively shifted closer, her body molding against mine in a way that felt both intimate and possessive.

I revel in this. I love that she seeks me even in her dreams, a testament to how deeply I have embedded myself into her very being. It’s a bittersweet realization that I have tainted her, that I am not the hero in her story.

I know I am no good for her. If she feels like she’s drowniñg, then I have no intention of rescuiñg her; rather, I will become the very depths from which she strugglés to escàpe. I will be the anchor, holding her dówn, as long as I can keep her by my side. She is no salvation for me either.

She embodies a dañger that whispers rather than shouts. Just one fleeting glance, a mere hint of a smile, and I am reduced to a mere puddle, a marionette dancing to the melody she plays. Yes, I may leave scàrs on her heart, but the déstruction she will wrought upon me will be beyond repair—deàdly, unsettling, and unfathomably profound.

So here we are, teetering on the edge of drowning in our own chàos. A fitting metaphor, really. At least I have a fondness for the color blue.

Speaking of blue, it’s been nearly six hours since I last caught a glimpse of those captivating cerulean hues. I rolled over, hovering above the sleeping beauty beneath me.

She laid there, a vision of tranquility and grace, her features softened in slumber. It felt almost siñful to disturb her peace, but duty calls, especially since she’s the one who set the dàmn alarm clock.

If she weren’t Genevieve King, I would have discàrded her long ago, no second thoughts.

With a resigned sigh, I leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to her lips. She stirred, but my arms were a fortress, a cage from which there was no escape. I pressed another kiss against her mouth, eliciting a soft, barely-there groan. A smirk crept across my face as I planted yet another kiss on her cheek, and then another, and another, until I could no longer resist the pull of her skin.

I paused my playful assàult when Genevieve’s eyelids fluttered as if she might awaken, but they remained closed. I redirected my kisses to her neck, that delicate patch of skin just waiting to be explored.

My lips found her neck, slow and gentle at first, teasing and tender. The second kiss was a different story altogether; this time, I was ravenous, nibbling and sucking with a hunger that made her breath hitch.

A low m0àn escaped the depths of her slumber, and I couldn’t help but revel in the sound, smug and satisfied that I had coaxed it from her. The growing mark on her neck, a vivid bruise of red and purple, was a testament to my victory.

“This is one annoying yet exciting way to wake up,” she murmured, her eyes finally fluttering open and locking onto mine.

“Then I promise to always wake you up like this.”

“Are you sure you can keep all these promises, Dominic? It’s a lot, you know.”

    “Are you doubting me?”

    “Never.”

    “Good girl.”

With a roll of her eyes, she pushed me off her before striding toward the bathroom. “Why did you wake me up?”

    “Because you set an alarm.”

    “For you!”

    “Oh.”

“Yes, oh. Don’t you know this is like a vacation for me?”

“It is?” I asked, wrapping my arms around her waist as she squeezed toothpaste onto a spare toothbrush.

She shot me a glare through the mirror, yet she didn’t pull away. I counted the seconds, waiting for her reaction.

    One.

    Two.

    Three.

    Four.

“Dominic!” Genevieve snapped, her gaze landing on the fresh hickéy I had left on her neck.

I struggled to suppress my laughter, knowing it might earn me a scolding. But the sight of her—toothpaste smeared and all—was simply too comical.

    “Funny, am I right?”

I shook my head, backing away as she pivoted toward me. It’s absurd, I know, that a màfia Don finds himself intimidated by his own girlfriend, but I can’t help it.

When her voice drops to that low, calm tone, it’s a warning—a sign to run.

“You look so pretty this morning.”

    “I didn’t look pretty yesterday?”

“You know that’s not what I meant.”

    “Do I?”

Yep, definitely time to run for my life.

    Or.

    “I love you.”

    Stúpid? Absolutely.

But it worked, because a smile broke across her face as she stalkéd closer. That smile morphed from sweet to devílish, “How would you like it if I gave you a hickéy when you have somewhere to go?”

“I would love it,” I replied honestly. “I adore being marked by you.”

“Aww, look at you saying all the right things.”

    When haven’t I always?

Do I need to remind you? That irritating voice in my head piped up.

I’m determined to say all the right things to convince her to use the car of her choice—the one I plan to get for her, which may or may not come equipped with a tracking device by the time she starts driving it.

You know what they say, “There’s nothing wrong with tracking your loved ones if it’s for their safety.”

    No one says that!

    Shut up.

             Jayden’s Pov:

I watched her as she slept like a baby.

She was so pretty and innocent.

It was still raining heavily and I had her covered with a blanket.

Anyways you guys might be surprised that I came to her rescue right?

    Like perfect timing

    But it’s not a coincidence….

    It was all planned out.

I’ve been stalking her ever since I set my eyes on her.

    Yeah… Yeah you know I like her….

Or should I say that I love her.

I kinda like her because she’s stubborn.

I never thought I could have her close to me like this.

Her rude face was now mild and innocent.

I smiled broadly as I covered her properly.

          Natasha’s Pov:

I breathed heavily as I gently opened my weak eyes.

My vision was blurry and I held my head.

    My head hurts so badly.

I yawned tiredly as I sat up.

I turned around and to my utmost surprise, I saw the Jay guy.

I flinched as I looked myself to know if he took advantage of me.

But my clothes were still intact.

    He only smiled at me.

“No such thing happened” He said as I gulped nervously.

    I was still gobsmacked.

“What are you doing here?” I managed to ask.

“Your car broke down… Have you forgotten?” He said and I turned my face away.

“Yeah!” I said as I stood up.

“And it’s still raining so you can’t go home now.. It’s dangerous” He said.

Why is he being so concerned….?

I can’t believe I will have to spend the night with him in my car.

I quickly made for my purse.

I brought out some money and handed to him.

“Here…. Your payback for saving me yesterday” I said avoiding eye contact with him.

He scoffed and shook his head.

“So you think your life is worth such a small amount of money?” He asked.

“Small amount of money? This is a million bucks” I said blinking hard.

“So? Can such a small amount of money buy your life?” He asked.

    I groaned angrily.

    He’s such a jerk….

So this is his own way of saying that the money is too small.

“I’ll add it up!” I said as I brought out my cheque book.

“Don’t forget to add today’s money cos I saved you today too” He said as I gulped hard.

“You are such an inconsiderate person…” I half yelled at him.

I expected him to raise his voice at me too but instead he started laughing.

    I was so embarrassed.

    Gosh!

I despise this guy so much….

“Get out of my car right now” I ordered

He chuckled as I stared at him confused.

“What’s funny? I said get the hell outta my car” I yelled at him.

“Take off my jacket and give me back my blanket” He said and I bit my lips trying to hid my fear.

“I’ll return them when I get home and change to something else” I said

“Fine… Then I’ll come down when we get home” He said and I grunted.

“I hate you!” I yelled at him.

“Same here but in the opposite” He said as I rolled my eyes at him.

    I backed him and smiled.

“Don’t you have a car? You should have gone with yours” I said

“Well it’s at the repairer’s…cos it’s faulty” He said.

    “Whatever!” I snorted.

💭 The opposite of hate is like right? He likes me 💭 I smiled within me.

My goodness why am I even excited that he likes me?

    There was silence….

I bet we are waiting for who to break the silence.

“Does that mean we are going to spend the night here?” I broke the silence finally

“Obviously!” He said and I gulped.

    “That’s dangerous…” I rolled my eyes.

“Yeah… And I’ve heard a lot about ghosts moving about here” He said as I flinched.

    My heart skipped a beat.

    “What? Really?” I asked scared.

“Yes… Countless number of times” He said.

    I gulped in fear.

I quickly adjusted closer to him.

“Can you stop that… If you plan on getting me scared then please just shut up cos it’s obviously working” I screamed.

“It’s not a lie…. I’ve heard of one that devoured a little girl” He said looking really serious.

I quickly closed my eyes with my palms.

Some minutes later, I removed my palms and looked around in fear.

    Am so scared of ghosts

           Kayla’s Pov:

I stared at the wall clock.

It was getting real late and Natasha is not yet home.

I know am still mad at her but that doesn’t stop me from loving her.

She’s like a sister to me.

I picked up my cell phone and dialed the number.

it rang but there was no answer.

I dialed the number again and this time it was picked.

But it was a male voice and it sounded familiar.

    📱Hello… who’s this?” I asked shocked.

I hope nothing bad has happened to my dear friend.

I wish I picked her call earlier.

    📱It’s me Jayden… He said

📱 Jayden? why are you with my friend’s phone…. I asked with a smile.

📱I’ll tell you but first we’ll strike a plan… He said as I smiled.

    📱Am all ears…. I said

    **

    THE NEXT MORNING

I got down from the taxi and crossed the road.

I saw her car parked by the roadside.

    I got closer.

To my greatest surprise, she was sleeping comfortably in Jay’s arms.

    OMG! So romantic

I brought out my cell phone and snapped them.

    They were cuddling….

“NATASHA!” I screamed and both of them jerked up…

    Nonye – Episode 10

    ‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡‡
The thought of being seen by people clouded my heart. I couldn’t stop thinking about the shame and embarrassment of attending an ungodly event. I hadn’t planned this lifestyle, how did I end up here?
I got out of the shower and began to dress. As a modest girl, I tried to incorporate modesty into my outfit. I chose a blue long gown that covered me well, paired with silver sandals and a bag. I considered wearing my beret but remembered I wasn’t attending a church service.
I looked at myself in the mirror and saw a beautiful face, but beneath, I was in pain. I couldn’t share my plans with my roommates, so I decided to leave before they arrived.
That evening, I met Ada as planned. When I arrived at her place, she teased me about dressing like a “church girl.” Her comment got me a little upset. Did she expect me to wear revealing clothes like hers? Never!
Noticing my change in mood, Ada said, “Don’t tell me you took that joke personally… I was just joking.” She smiled, trying to lighten the mood.
The ride she had ordered arrived, and we set out for the party.
As we drove to the party, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease. The music playing in the car seemed too loud. I stared out the window, watching as the streets whizzed by in a blur.
Inside, I felt a turmoil brewing. I was anxious about what the party might hold, and I couldn’t help but wonder if I had made a huge mistake by coming. The excitement and anticipation that Ada seemed to feel were completely lost on me.
I felt trapped, like I was being driven further and further away from the life I once knew. The darkness outside seemed to press in on me, making me feel claustrophobic and anxious.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts. But as I glanced over at Ada, who was chatting and laughing with the driver, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disconnection. We were worlds apart, and I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I’m in a gr@ve danger.
As we turned a corner, I caught sight of a sign that read “Welcome to the Island”. My heart sank. Where were we going? I thought we were just attending a party, not traveling to some remote location.
I felt a surge of panic as I turned to Ada. “Ada, where are we going?” I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.
Ada smiled reassuringly. “Don’t worry, Nonye. We’re almost there. It’s going to be fun, I promise.”
But I wasn’t convinced. Something didn’t feel right. I looked out the window again, watching as the buildings and houses gave way to dense foliage.
“Ada, I want to go back,” I said suddenly, my voice firm.
Ada turned to me in surprise. “What? Why?”
I shook my head. “I just don’t feel right about this. I want to go home.”
Ada’s expression changed from surprise to concern. “Nonye, we can’t turn back now. We’re almost there.”
But I was adamant. “I want to go home, Ada. Please.”
The driver, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. “I’m afraid it’s not possible to turn back now, miss. We’re on a private road.”
Ada put a reassuring hand on my arm. “Nonye, trust me. Everything will be fine. We’re just going to have a little fun, and then we’ll head back home. I promise.”
I looked at Ada, searching for any sign of deception. But all I saw was her usual cheerful expression. Maybe I was just being paranoid. Maybe this really was just a harmless party.
The driver, seeming to sense my hesitation, spoke up again. “We’re almost there, miss. Just a few more minutes.”
I took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay, fine. Let’s just get this over with.”
Ada grinned and squeezed my arm. “That’s the spirit! I knew you’d come around.”
As we turned another corner, I caught sight of a sprawling mansion in the distance. The music was getting louder, and I could see people milling around outside.
As the driver parked, we stepped out of the car. The moment I arrived at the party, I was struck by its grandeur. The mansion’s exterior was breathtaking, with twinkling lights and lavish decorations that seemed to shimmer in the night air.
The music pulsed through the air, and the sound of laughter and chatter filled my ears. I felt a pang of unease as I realized that the party was much more extravagant than Ekene had described.
As we entered the crowded room, I scanned the sea of unfamiliar faces, hoping to spot someone I knew. But everyone seemed like a stranger, and I felt a pang of unease. Ada, however, seemed to be in her element, excusing herself to grab us some drinks.
Left alone, my mind began to wander. I glanced around, searching for Ekene, but he was nowhere to be seen. Just as I was starting to feel anxious, Ada reappeared, a bottle of wine and two glasses in hand.
“Here you go,” she said, setting the glasses down in front of us. “I got us some wine. Let’s celebrate!”
“Ada, I’m okay for now, I don’t need anything,” I said, trying to wave her off.
But Ada was insistent. “Come on, just one glass,” she said, pouring wine into my glass. “It’ll help you relax.”
“Hope it’s not alcoholic?” I asked, eyeing the drink warily.
Ada laughed. “Haba, what do you take me for, Nonye? I know you don’t do alcohol.”
I felt a surge of relief at her reassuring tone. I collected the glass from her, and she poured the drink into it. I took a sip, the cool liquid sliding down my throat.
But I fear the worst is going to happen
