    I Walked out of the room adjusting my garment and smiling widely. I couldn’t believe Akira and I just had a nasty moment.

    As I walked down the hallway, I saw Aaron walking to my direction. 

    “My Prince.” He said bowing and I nodded looking at him.

    “Hey, how do you do?” I asked and he looked at me.

    “I am good my Prince. I am yet to thank you for helping me out of the dungeon. Thank you so much.” He said smiling and I shook my head.

    “Oh, that’s nothing Aaron. You were innocent and that fought for you.” I stated and he nodded bowing his head.

    Then I remembered Hana asked of him earlier.

    “Are you don’t talking to Hana?” I asked and he nodded reluctantly, and I could guess he wasn’t himself.

    “Yes my Prince. We talked already.” He responded and then I narrowed my gaze.

    “Walk me to the garden.” I said with Intentions to know exactly what he feels for Hana. I can’t let her get hurt anymore,not after what she did for Akira and I.

    He complied and we both walked down the hallway and bursted out at the garden.

    “So what happened? You don’t look happy. I expect you to be happy with the one you love.” I said looking at him and I saw he was scared.

    “Yeah right. You are scared to talk to me because I am the Prince and she is my sister. Okay let me say this, I love Akira with my whole life and it’s an ABOMINATION.”

    “But I can’t stay away from her, I am willing to take any risks and protect her at the same time just to be with her.” I explained as we both walked.

    “My Prince…” He called but then I cut him short.

    “Call me Arjun for now.” I said and he nodded reluctantly.

    “I know you love Akira, and I also love Hana but this is vice-versa. You are a man, you are from the Royals, you can stand up for Akira anywhere, anytime because you have the right too…”

    “But with these rights, you still hide your relationship outside. If yours can be like that, what about ours? I mean Hana and I.”

    “She is a lady from the Royals, she can talk to your father to some extent, but not as far as you can go as a man. And I, the man is the Slave which sounds more punishing.”

    “My Mother has only me, after me she has no one. If I risk anything now and it ends my life what would become of my mother?” He asked looking scared and sad at the same time.

    I sighed knowing he also has fears like Akira. 

    “I understand you totally Aaron, believe me I do. But you know why i am talking to you? My sister has been so hurt, even putting her life at the edge to make me happy.” 

    “And I want to pay her back that favor, and the only way to do that is to see her happy, to make her happy. And you know the one thing that can make her Happy?” I asked.

    “Me.” He replied and I nodded.

    “Exactly. So I don’t know how you would do this but you need to make my sister happy. I can’t let her be sad again. She shouldn’t be, she is an angel.” I said smiling and he nodded smiling too.

    “I know but I really need to sit and think about this. I don’t know if my mother can be released from this Palace, she has been here her whole life, and since we have recruited new slaves, she should be set free.”

    “My Prince, please if you can convince your father to let my mother go, then I can love Hana the way I want and make her Happy. Cos when mother is out of here, then I am not scared of anything. Why I am scared of death is my mother.”

    “I can’t let her suffer here and later suffer loneliness in the same place.” He said and I nodded understanding perfectly.

    “You won’t die Aaron, and I promise to do something about your mother’s release. That Is a promise.” I said and he looked very happy.

    “Thank you so much my Prince.” He said and I smiled.

    “Looks like you two are getting along real well.” I heard Niran behind us and we both looked back.

    “You can go now Aaron.” I said trying not to act frustrated in front of him.

    “Why are you dismissing him?” He asked after Aaron was about to leave,making him stand still.

    “Because his presence is no more needed.” I said in a cold voice and looked at Aaron, who walked away very fast.

    “So you wish to share what you are doing with him too? Cos the only slave you talk to is Akira. Do you do men too?” He asked and I looked at him.

    “What do you want Niran? Don’t come frustrate me.” I stated walking away.

    “I am not here to frustrate you. Stop being a drama queen.” He said but I kept walking.

    “You smell Akira.” He said and my eyes widened.

    “What? What does that even mean?” I asked furrowing my brows.

    “You were with her. I know her scent and it’s on you.” He said and I hid my shock face bringing out a bold one.

    “What do you want?” I asked again, this time looking very angry.

    “Oops, no offense. I just want to tell you Father announced he would be leaving the Palace for a day with mother.” He said and I furrowed my brows.

    “Wait what? Father has never gone on a leave. That’s damn weird.” I said and he nodded.

    “Yeah, very weird.” He replied.

    “And did he tell you why? Dad would have a reason for the leave.” I said and he nodded.

    “I know he has a reason but I am yet to figure out why. But as a normal conscienceless human, I think he just want to take our recovered Mother on a tour.” He said and I laughed.

    “That is ridiculous. Father takes his throne first before family.” I said as we both walked back to the hallway.

    “Well,don’t you think that changed since Hana stabbed herself?” He asked and my lips curved into an “oh”.

    “Oh yeah that right. But Its still hard to believe.” I Stated and he nodded.

    “Same here.” He said and then I looked at him furrowing my brows.

    “Did we just discuss without having a fight?” I asked and he shrugged his shoulders.

    “I think so. But don’t you think we would be great partners?” He asked and I scoffed.

    “With every evidence you have to backstab me? I don’t think so.” I said walking away.

    I headed to my chamber, and I saw my guards were dismissed. And then I saw my room opened. I arched my brows opening the door slightly.

    I walked in and then I saw someone facing the window. His back was turned against my face.

    “Who the hell are you?” I asked in anger and a little fright.

    “Hey Friend.” He said turning to look at me, and Immediately I saw him face I was dumbfounded.

    “Kaleb?” I called in shock.

    After I heard the voices in the room die down, I opened the door slightly peeping out of the bathroom. 
    “You can come out now. He is gone.” Prince Arjun said to me in a whisper and I nodded walking out of the bathroom with a relieving smile on my face.
    “I need to go now Prince Arjun.” I said with my heart still beating very fast. 
    “I am sorry this had to happen.” He pleaded and I shook my head walking to the door.
    “It’s fine Prince Arjun. We made a mistake, and it won’t happen again.” I said and he rushed to me pulling me back with my hand.
    “What do you mean by that?” He asked looking at me.
    “Prince Arjun that was a stupid thing we just did. If we didn’t act fast I would be dead by now and I don’t want that.” I said and hie countenance changed.
    “But you weren’t caught Akira.” He said and I nodded.
    “Yes I wasn’t, but I was lucky and I may not be lucky next time. This has to stop, I was so stupid to think things would work out for us.” I said and walked out of the chamber before he could stop me again.
    “I knew I hurt him with my words, and I was also hurting. But this is the best way to stay alive, we can’t keep doing this,what if someone sees us and reports to the King?” I thought walking down the hallway as fast as my legs could carry.
    Then I got to the front of Ma’am Nikita’s room and knocked on the door. I wanted to tell her not to worry that Aaron would be released soon.
    I heard everything the King discussed with Arjun, and I could feel he was sorry about how Hana felt.
    Even the strongest has a weakness they say. The door opened and I saw Aaron standing right in front of me.
    “Wow that was so fast.” I said as he pulled me into a hug immediately.
    “Thank you for saving me.” He said happily and I shook my head against his shoulders.
    “It’s not me Aaron. It’s prince Arjun, he talked to the King on your behalf and that’s why the king ordered for your release.” I said and he disengaged smiling.
    “I can’t thank him enough. I was so scared in the room.” He said and I looked at him sadly .
    “I am so sorry.” I said and he nodded.
    “What about your mom?” I asked looking around for ma’am Nikita.
    “Oh, she left for the queens chamber. The Queen is awake so she was called for services.” He said and I nodded. 
    My mouth couldn’t stop itching me, I wanted to tell him what happened today. I needed to tell someone because it was eating me up. But I needed to share it with someone I trust and I think I can trust Aaron. He is a good friend.
    “Hey Kira, are you okay? You look lost.” He said waving his hand in front of my face.
    “Yeah. Aaron can we talk?” I asked and he nodded looking damn serious.
    “Yes. Of course, anything Akira.” He said gesturing me to sit. I sat and then he sat next to me staring at me.
    “I can trust you right?” I asked and he nodded staring right into my eyes.
    “You should Akira, I am your friend and your secrets are safe with me.” He reassured and I nodded swallowing hard before I proceeded.
    “Arjun and I made out.” I said very fast shutting my eyes. There was total silence for some seconds and I was forced to open my eyes.
    I saw his eyes were widened and his mouth was apart slightly.
    “Okay don’t look at me like that.” I said bowing my head.
    “OMG. You guys had sex?” He asked in a whisper and I shook my head.
    “No. But we almost did.” I replied. His shocked expression didn’t fade away.
    “What stopped you?” He asked.
    “The king.” I replied and his eyes widened even more.
    “Holy moly! How are you still breathing?” He asked in shock.
    “Arjun saved the day again. He came up with something and I had to hide in the bathroom.” I said and he bursted into laughter.
    “What the f**k! This is hilarious!” He said admist laughter and I furrowed my brows.
    “Mocking me, great.” I said rolling my eyes.
    “No, I am sorry. It’s just that the statement won’t stop to amaze me. You made out which is kinda cute, then the king interfered which is a death sentence, and then you had to hide in the bathroom which is hilarious. I had to show my expressions.” He said trying hard to stop laughing and I stared at him angrily.
     “Okay for real. How was it?  The half make out?” He asked and I smiled.
    “I don’t want to talk about it. Cos I just kind broke up with him. Will I call that break up? We weren’t even a couple.” I said laughing at myself.
    “Now the sad part.” He said pulling me to himself.
    “I am sorry, but I think you did the right thing. If the king saw you, you would be corpse by now.” He said and I heaved nodding.
    The door opened and Ma’am Nikita came in. 
    “Hey.” She said to both of us and we disengaged smiling.
    “I am happy you helped him get out of that dungeon.” She said and I shook my head standing up.
    “It’s Prince Arjun not me.” I said and she smiled…
    “I would leave you now.” I said and she nodded. I waved to Aaron and he waved back.
    I walked out of the room hitting the hallway again. This time I headed straight to my own room.
    I opened the door and then I saw Mei pacing around in the room.
    “Hey Mei. What’s wrong? Where is Vanna?” I asked looking at her.
    “Running errands. I need to tell you something Akira.” She said and I arched my brows.
    “Okay?” I asked looking at her suspiciously.
    “I betrayed you Akira. I wanted to leave this Palace so badly that I forgot all about our friendship.” She said in tears and my heart began to beat very fast.
    “What did you do Mei?” I asked and she shut her mouth with her hand crying.
    “Talk to me! What did you do?” I asked In a shaky voice.
    “I took pictures of you and Prince Arjun when you went into his room.” She said and my feete wobble Immediately.
    “Oh My God. Why would you do that Mei? Why would you do this to me?” U asked in tears.
    “I am sorry. I didn’t know what I was doing, I was so desperate to have my own freedom.” She said and I looked at her angrily.
    “How does taking pictures of us help you have your freedom?” I asked in confusion and rage.
    “I sent it to Princess Maya. She promised to get me out of here.” She stated and I shut my eyes bursting into more tears.
    I can’t believe I was backstabbed by my own best friend.
    “So it was you. It was you she was talking about. You are my friend Mei! You should have my back not stab it !” I yelled.
    “I am sorry.” She stated trying to hold me but I yanked off her hand.
    “Don’t you dare!” I said angrily.
    Then we heard footsteps approach our door. I could hear my own heart beat.
    “Akira the king wants you now!” I heard the harsh voice say and my heart stopped beating and that was the last thing I could remember.

    I got to my chamber and I couldn’t stop smiling. I kept touching my lips with my fingers.
    I got into the chamber and I met Katika in there.
    “Katika!” I said happily and she looked at me.
    “Hey! Where were you?” She asked and when she saw my expression, she narrowed her eyes.
    “What are you not telling me?” She asked and I chuckled.
    “I was with Arjun.” I said playing with my fingers as I walked to my bed.
    “Arjun? That is weird.” She said and I laughed.
    “I know. But it’s true. I was with him, and guess what? We kissed.” I stated happily and she scoffed.
    “What? You kissed. Why did that happen? How did that happen?” She asked in shock.
    “It happened. He told me he likes me, and not Akira. I am so happy Katika.” I said happily staring into space.
    “That is suspicious. You went to him, and he just said that to you?” She asked and I looked at her.
    “Is it that hard to believe? He likes me, and that’s it. He kissed me three times on the lips. What else is weird about that?” I asked and she swallowed hard.
    “Okay it’s fine. I am happy for you.” She said and I nodded smiling widely.
    “You should be. So you were looking for me.” I said and she sighed sitting next to me.
    “Yes. I had a call from father. And, he wants us back home. Mother is sick again, and she wants us around her.” She said and I stood up in frustration.
    “Why must she always ruin my fun?? I am happy now and then sickness comes from nowhere? Why must she always fall sick?” I asked angrily and Katika looked at me unbelievably.
    “Maya you should never talk like that about your mother. It’s not her fault that she is sick.” She stated.
    “And it’s not my fault either, neither is it your fault. So we don’t have to suffer for it.” I said and she stood up.
    “We aren’t suffering for anything! We have used a week here and it’s time we went home. We aren’t married to any of them yet, so our type is up!” She yelled and I turned my back against her angrily.
    “Father is calling us home because mother is sick. If she wasn’t sick, we wouldn’t be going home this early. King Maeko and Queen Amber are totally fine with us staying as long as we want to.” I muttered.
    “We are going home tomorrow and that is final. Start packing up, and say your goodbye to Arjun, your new found lover.” She said and she walked out of the room.
    I breathed out angrily.
    “Why can’t she just die? She doesn’t like me anyways.” I mumbled slamming into my bed.
           AKIRA 
    “You are awkwardly silent Akira. This has never happened, and we are friends you know, you shouldn’t hide anything from me.” Vanna whispered to me and I looked at Mei who was fast asleep on her bed.
    “I am scared to tell anyone because it’s a life and death situation.” I muttered and she held my hand.
    “Akira, you are my only friend. And I am here for you, at anytime. You can talk to me. I am not happy with the way you are keeping things from me.” She said and I sighed.
    “I had a dream. And the dream was not one that can be heard outside the walls of this room.” I said and she nodded paying rapt attention.
    “So tell me.” She whispered and I bowed my head.
    “I had a dream that Princess Hana wanted us to go to the market to get something for her. She asked me to come along and she was with Prince Arjun.”
    “We were in the market, Princess Hana asked me to pick up a jewelry for her.” I said smiling.
    “Then we saw these men on horses, riding it into the markets with gun and spears. They began to kill those around them.” I said with my eyes watering.
    “I stared at them and then Prince Arjun grabbed my hand and we began to run. We got to this old house and we hid ourselves in it.” 
    “Things got intense, and he kissed me.” I whispered into her ears and her eyes widened.
    “What?” She whispered and I nodded.
    “At the end, he was shot and then I woke up.” I said and she stared into space.
    “This isn’t good.” She said and I nodded sighing.
    “I can’t let anything happen to him. I was so scared and I was so so scared. And that was why I ran out of the room. And that was when I realized that he had the same dream.” I said and she looked at me.
    “This is more serious than I thought.” She said and I nodded.
    “After we met, we entered into an empty room to talk, and we walked out. After some minutes, Aaron came to tell me that Princess Maya saw us walking into the room.” 
    “Oh My God. Akira this is bad.” She said in a shaky voice and I nodded.
    “I am scared. What if she tells king Maeko? I am dead.” I mumbled in tears and she hugged me.
    “Prince Arjun will do everything to make sure you are safe.” She said and I cleaned my eyes.
    “I don’t think so. I don’t know what to do.” I said and just then we heard the voice of a man at the door.
    “Akira. You are needed right now.” He said in a very hoarse voice and our eyes widened.
    “I am dead Vanna.” I said in tears.

    “Aaron are you okay?” I asked nervously seeing the wat he acted and looked at me.
    “I saw you and Prince Arjun walking into an empty room. What was that about?” He asked and at first I was relieved it was just that.
    Then I remembered, he shouldn’t have seen us going into an empty room alone. That would cause troubles.
    “Aaron something came up, and we had to talk about it.” I muttered.
    “In an empty room? With him looking around like he had a bad intention? Seriously Akira. Are you going to keep this from me?” He asked and I heaved.
    “Aaron it was something we couldn’t discuss in front of anyone. We had to go there. I swear nothing happened.” I said and he nodded.
    “I believe you, but I need to know why you both went into that empty room, because I think you are in trouble.” He said and my heart skipped.
    “What? What are you talking about? Aaron what is going on?” I stammered in fear looking right into his eyes.
    “I saw Princess Maya spying on you two when you were in the room. She saw when you two walked in. She wanted to eavesdrop and then I showed up and she walked away before hearing anything.” He explained.
    “What? oh No! That can’t happen. Oh my God.” I said in tears holding my mouth with my palm.
    “Now you see you are in deep shit. And I am scared because it doesn’t look good. It was like she saw an evidence against you, to get rid of you totally.” He said and the tears rolled down uncontrollably.
    “I need to tell Prince Arjun! He needs to do something. He needs to shut her up! King Maeko can’t hear about this. I won’t last the night.” I mumbled in tears.
    “No Akira. You can’t go to him again. You can’t be seen with him again, don’t you get it! Your life is on the hook now. You are breathing now because Princess Maya hasn’t gotten to the King.” He said and I began to shiver.
    His words were so scary and it was like I was going to pee on myself.
    “So what do I do now? I can’t die Aaron.” I said in tears.
    “You won’t die. But I need to talk to Prince Arjun myself. For now, stay as far as possible from him. I hope he can talk her out of changing her mind. Cos you and I know she hates you and would do anything to eliminate you.” He rapped.
    “That means Prince Arjun can’t do anything. I am dead.” I mumbled bursting into more tears.
    “No! She loves the prince. He would find a way.” He said holding my hand and i nodded.
    “Please go tell him now. Thank you so much Aaron.” I said really wanting to hug him but I knew how risky that is too.
    “You are my friend Akira. I would never let anything bad happen to you. Go back to the room, say your meeting with Prince Arjun to no one. I will handle this.” He said and I nodded quickly.
    “Okay. I love you Aaron, thank you for this.” I said and he smiled faintly.
    I walked to the room and when I got inside I saw Vanna and Mei staring at me again.
    “Please don’t ask.” I said laying on the bed.
    “What’s going on with you? You are keeping secrets and that’s unlike you Akira. Are you really okay?” Vanna asked.
    “I am fine!” I yelled Registrating shock into them. The word “Death” couldn’t stop ringing in my head and that also registered fear inside of me.
                ARJUN 
    After I left Hana’s chamber,I headed to my room thinking about Akira. Our kiss, the dream as a whole.
    Telling father as soon as possible is the solution, but what if that is resolved? We may never be able to kiss again.
    Maybe this is our only shot. I was shot in the dream, what if I didn’t survive, that would be our first and last kiss.
    And if this doesn’t happen at all by us preventing it…
    There was a knock on the door which interrupted my thinking totally. I held my head in my hands and walked to the door. I breathed out before reaching for the door knob.
    I opened the door, and then I saw Maya at the door step.
    “What do you want?” I asked coldly. I ain’t in the mood for her drama at all.
    “Are we fighting?” She asked pushing me from the way slightly and walking in. I sighed and turned to face her.
    “What do you want? Get out.” I said and then she bursted into laughter. I furrowed my brows looking at her. 
    I wondered why she was laughing.
    “You want me to get out, fine! I will. But just know I am heading to the King immediately.” She said swaying her phone in the air and I scoffed.
    “And why should I care?” I asked folding my arms.
    “Maybe because your dear Akira won’t last the night before he heads is fed to the dogs.” She said walking towards me, heading to the door.
    “Wait! What? What are you talking about?” I asked shutting the door and standing right in front of her.
    ” You know exactly what I mean Arjun. So can you please excuse me? I need to ask if meeting with a maid with the opposite sex in an empty room is part of the rules, since we go by rules now.” She said and my eyes widened.
    “So are you trying to threaten me?” I asked fearfully,though I kept a straight face.
    “Threaten you? This is no threat. I am doing exactly what I said.” She said and I laughed.
    “You don’t even have proof. Who on Earth would believe your lame story?” I asked hoping she didn’t have proof.
    “When they see it with their eyes, they would believe. Seeing is believing right.” She said and my eyes widened.
    I looked at her phone that was with her and then my brain told me she either took pictures when she saw us or recorded a video.
    “So you are really going to go through all this stress for an ordinary maid?” I asked and she looked at me in confusion.
    “What do you mean?” She asked.
    “You are giving importance to whom doesn’t serve it at all. You are a beautiful princess and you want this navie maid to get your attention?” I asked and she furrowed her brows.
    “That maid is getting your attention.” She stated and I laughed.
    “I did that to see if you really loved me. I wanted to know how you would react when you know I am not giving you the attention you want.” I said and I began to walk to her.
    She looked at me in shock and began to move back too.
    “Why are you saying this to me?” She asked and I smiled seductively.
    “I don’t love or like Akira Maya. It’s you i want. All those was just an act,to see if you would get angry or not.” I said and her back hit the wall in no time.
    “So you don’t like her at all?” She asked and I smiled moving my face to hers and planting a kiss on her lips.
    “God Forbid I like a miserable maid over a beautiful and smart Princess like you Maya.” I whispered against her lips and she shivered shutting my eyes.
    “You don’t know how long I have waited to hear you say this words.” She said and I took her lower lip in mine again.
    “Now you know. So get rid of that picture or video. It’s a waste of time.” I said and she smiled nodding.
    She reached for her phone and deleted the video right in front of me.
    “That’s my baby girl. Hope no one knows about this?” I asked and she shook her head.
    “Not yet.” She said blushing seriously and I smiled. 
    “Good.” I said moving back.
    “Can I have another kiss?” She asked and I nodded swallowing hard.
    “Sure.”

    “Are you okay?” I asked approaching her. I looked around and when I saw no one was looking, I held her by the hand and pull her with me.
    “Where are we going?” She asked in her Angelic voice but I ignored her. I got to an empty room and opened it up pulling her in.
    I looked around to check if anyone was around, and luckily no one was around.
    I got into the room and locked the door behind us.
    “My Prince, I…” She stammered and I cut her short.
    “We kissed.” I said and she looked at me swallowing hard.
    “It was just a dream.” She muttered.
    “It’s not just a dream Akira. My dreams always come to pass no matter how small it is.” I said approaching and she began to move back.
    “Is it only the kissing side you saw? Wait! We had the same dream?” She asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
    “I don’t know. All I know is what I saw which is, Hana said we would be leaving for the market. We went to get jewelries and then these men on horses came and began to kill the people.”
    “We ran and then saw this old house where we hid ourselves and then things got intense and I kissed you, pulled your waist…”
    “And then you were shot.” She cut in and I sighed nodding.
    “Yes I was, and then I woke up.” I stated and she looked scared.
    “That Is what we should be worried about my Prince not the kissing part. That was insane because it can’t happen and it won’t happen.” She muttered.
    “Why can’t it happen?” I asked looking at her.
    “For you to be safe, we need to be sure that nothing comes to pass in that dream.” She said with her head bowed.
    “It’s inevitable Akira. This dream will come to pass no matter what we do.” I said emphasizing on the “what we do”.
    “We can do something. We won’t go to the market. We inform the king about the war, by telling him the dream excluding the kissing part of course.” She said and I stared at her.
    “What are you avoiding in that dream Akira. The kiss?” I asked and she shook her head reluctantly.
    “No! I am avoiding the fact that you got shot. I can’t let you get shot, you should get shot.” She said and I smiled.
    “You care about me.” I said and she looked away.
    “Yes i do. Because you care about everyone else in this palace.” She mumbled and I nodded speechlessly.
    “Aren’t we missing something here? Why did we have the same dream at the same time? No difference, no substraction,no addition. Doesn’t that tell us something?” I asked and she nodded.
    “It’s telling us that we need be extra careful, and that the town isn’t safe.” She said and I heaved.
    I knew she was trying so hard not to talk about the kissing part. And I think I won’t force that again.
    “I would tell mother about the dream, she would know how to tell father.” I said and I opened the door.
    “You wouldn’t tell her about the kiss, would you?” She asked and I looked at her.
    “Of course not. The kiss was a distraction, and that was why I was shot.” I rapped and she nodded breathing out loud.
    “How is your face?” I asked and she smiled faintly.
    “Better thank you.” She said with her head bowed.
    I walked out of the room and just then, Hana came out of the corner around the hallway walking to where I was.
    “Hey, where have you been? I have been looking for you.” She said and I saw two of her maids with her. 
    “Sorry about that. I was taking care of something.” I said and then Akira came out of the room.
    Luckily for me, I wasn’t in front of the door anymore when Hana saw me.
    “Akira? What are you doing here?” She asked and Akira looked scared not knowing what to say.
    “So you were looking for me? What’s up?” I said changing the subject of discussion.
    “Right. I wanted us to go to the market. I need to get somethings for myself.” She said and our eyes widened.
    “No.” Akira and I chorused before thinking.
    “What? What’s going on?” She asked looking at both of us and I gulped down my saliva.
    “We need to talk Hana. In private.” I said and she looked at me with great curiosity.
    “Okay you are scaring me.” She said In fear.
    “It’s fine. But we need to talk. Now.” I said holding her hand and pulling her away. I looked back at Akira and I saw she was staring at us as we walked away.
    We got to her chamber and we walked in shutting the door behind us.
    “So what’s up?” She asked looking at me.
    “I had a dream.” I said and her eyes widened. 
    “A bad dream?” She asked looking scared and I nodded.
    “Not that bad. There was some good in it, but it was kinda scary.” I said and she let me sit on her bed, then she sat next to me.
    “Tell me this dream. I am scared already because your dreams are like visions of what to come.” She said and I heaved.
    “In the dream, I saw you told us to go to the market, with Akira and the other maids. You were going to buy jewelries.” I said and her eyes widened.
    “That’s exactly what I want to buy Arjun. What Happened?” She asked anxiously.
    “After we got the jewelry, there was this attack on the people in the market including us, and we began to run.”
    “They had spears and guns. Niran actually warned us that the other competiting countries wanted to wage war against us but we ignore him and still left.” I explained and I could see her breathing grow intense.
    “Did any of us die?” She asked in a shaky voice.
    “I was shot and I didn’t see you and the other maids at the end.” I said and tears rolled down her eyes.
    “Hana you don’t need to cry. We would prevent the dream as soon as possible.” I said and she nodded cleaning her eyes.
    “So what is the good news in the dream? Maybe that would cheer me up a little.” She said and I swallowed hard.
    “It’s not about you Hana. It’s not important.” I said looking away.
    “You should remove any part of the dream. Not when the dream is that critical.” She said and I nodded.
    “I know but it’s to keep everyone safe.” I said and she sighed taking my hand in hers.
    “Arjun trust me. You know you can tell me anything. If you don’t want anyone to know this, I am not anyone I can keep a secret.” She said and I nodded.
    “I kissed Akira in the dream.” I said.
    “What?” She asked and she began to chuckle.
    “Crazy right? That’s why I can’t tell anyone. It would put her in trouble, knowing my dreams do come to pass.” I said sadly.
    “But you want it to happen right?” She asked.
    “Hana….” I said.
    “You don’t have to pretend to me of all people Arjun. Akira is nice, and beautiful.” She said.
    “Yes. I want it to happen, but she doesn’t.” I said looking at her.
    “That is because she Is scared, and she should be.” She stated and I nodded laying on the bed.
                AKIRA
    When I got to the room, I met Vanna and Mei sitting silently. As as I walked in, I suspected they were talking about me.
    “Why do I feel you were talking about me.” I said walking to my bed and sitting on it.
    “What happened Akira? You shouted the Prince’s name when you woke up.” Vanna said and Mei nodded.
    “I had a bad dream. That’s all.” I said laying on the bed.
    “A bad dream?? That sounds creepy. Your dreams are always visions.” Mei said and I nodded sadly.
    “It will be fine. You don’t have to worry.” I said and a knock came on the door. Vanna reached for it and opened it.
    It was Aaron.
    “Akira can we talk please?” He asked looking very serious and my heart skipped.

    “How was your first service to the princess?” I asked trying to hide the fear that my son was just called into the Princess’s chamber.

    “It was annoying.” Mei said and I sighed folding my hands.

    “You won’t really give up Hun?” I asked and she shook her head.

    “Ma’am Nikita can we ask you some questions?” Vanna asked and I nodded walking to one of the beds and sitting down.

    “Ask me anything you want to know about the way things are done in the palace.” I muttered and she nodded.

    “What does it mean for someone to be discarded?” She asked and I heaved.

    “That means the Princess, Queen or the Prince won’t be needing the services of that Maid anymore. The ones that are discarded are those who have been serving them for a very long time and they think it’s time to free them.” I explained and they looked at each other.

    “If it’s about their freedom, why were the ladies Princess Hana discarded sheding tears?” Mei asked and there rest nodded.

    “Because it’s not really freedom. Once they are discarded, they become the palace’s maid, not a personal maid anymore.” I said.

    “It doesn’t sound like a worse thing.” Akira said and I smriked.

    “It Is because they are no more recognized as the princess’s maid but just a regular maid. They are no more seen with the Princess and they can’t go anywhere close to them.” I explained further and they all heaved.

    “This is insane!” Mei said and we all looked at her.

    “Mei can you please stop acting like an hero for us, but rather be the hero that would save your own life.” Akira said angrily.

    “There is no life here Akira. Don’t you get it? We are captives, slaves. We were free humans two days ago and now we are bathing for someone.” Mei said and they bowed their head.

    “I understand your grief Mei. Trust me, I did worse than you are doing right now. But I had to move on, accept my fate. I decided to find happiness where there is sadness.” I said going down the memory lane. Back to when I first met my husband.

    “And you begot Aaron in that sadness.” Akira stated and I nodded.

    “My found my husband here too. We was the guards of the king. We kept our relationship secret, until I got pregnant of Aaron and the king began to question him.”

    “The king later found out about our affair, and sent him out to the battlefield where he never came back to me.” I said and my eyes heated up.

    “He died in the battlefield.” Mei said and I nodded.

    “But above that I still have my son Aaron with me. He reminds me so much about my husband. His physique, his face and the way he talks.” I said smiling.

    “I bet your husband was very handsome then.” Akira said smiling and I nodded staring into space, as I remembered his face.

    “So it’s a crime to have a lover among the maids?” Vanna asked and I nodded.

    “We are not to have an affair here.” I said and Mei rolled her eyes.

    “Too many stupid rules. So if you aren’t supposed to have an affair with your co-workers, who are you supposed to have an affair with? The Royals?” Vanna asked and I shook my head.

    “That’s a death wish Vanna. You have no right to have anything doing with the Royals.” I said standing up.

    “So we are not supposed to love all our lives?” Akira asked and I nodded.

    “Not when you are still in this palace. It’s a dearg sentence.”

    “I should get to other new maids too. You two stay out of trouble.” I said walking to the door when I remembered we have an occasion today.

    “Lest I forget, the palace would be needing our services again today. Princess Katika is visiting the palace today. We all have to be present.” I said.

    “Who is princess Katika?” Akira asked.

    “You will know soon.” I said finally walking out of the room.

                          ARJUN 

    I walked out of my chamber looking as handsome as ever. I wore one of my best robes, though I didn’t want to but mother forced me.

    I was walking down the third floor when I met Hana and few of her maids, on her way to the meeting room. She didn’t look very happy and I think I know why.

    “Can’t you at all pretend to be happy for Niran?” I asked as soon as I caught up with her.

    “I can’t. You know how much I hate that lady. She is just so full of herself.” She said and I smiled. 

    “You need to be at your best character. Mother has warned already.” I said and she rolled her eyes.

    “I didn’t promise her that. If she steps on my toes, I am going to put her in her place.” She said and I laughed.

    Seeing her that way makes me laugh, because I know she is the only nice and gentle person in our home. 

    But seeing her like this makes me laugh. For the first time I looked at the maids that were with her and to my surprise, it was the new ones.

    I looked at Akira for some seconds before looking away. Her head was bowed and her hands folded in front of her.

    “Why did you choose the new ones to escort you? They are yet to know how things are done. I don’t want them getting into trouble.” I whispered into Hana’s ear.

    “Them into trouble? Or her into trouble?” She asked smiling.

    “What? No! That’s not what i am saying.” I denied looking away.

    “Don’t worry Arjun, they will be at their best character. They know what to do.” She said and I nodded reluctantly.

    “I just hope Niran forgives the one that spilled that drink on him.” I said and heaved.

    “He had to, cause I won’t let him do any harm to her nor Vanna. Those two are just so beautiful and quiet.” She said and I looked back at them again.

    They were feets away from us at the back, so I bet they heard our discussion.

    “Yeah. She is beautiful.” I mumbled to myself making sure Hana didn’t hear me.

    We got to the throne where father was seated and we stood next to him, at the bottom.

    “The Princess is coming in!” An announcer said loudly and the rest of the people stood up.

    I looked at Niran and I saw how handsome he looked. His hair was styled and his robe was on hell of a robe.

    Though his facial expression wasn’t showing happy to me. I was standing next to him so I could whisper into his ears. 

    “Try smiling, your wife to be is coming in.” I whispered in his ears and he bent his head to look at me.

    “I am trying okay?” He said within gritted teeth and faced his front. 

    I was about facing the approaching Princess Katika when my eyes landed on Akira again.

    What I couldn’t understand was why I was always getting lost when I look at her. It was like something was drawing me to her or something.

    I didn’t understand the feeling at all. 

    “Arjun, bow.” Hana whispered touching me, so as to bring my wandered off spirit back into the palace.

    I made my bow, and when I rose up my head, I saw her smiling widely. She walked to Hana and Hana gave her kisses on the cheeks.

    She walked again and stopped in front of me. I took her hand and kissed it smiling. 

    She smiled and walked to where Niran was. I was about concentrating on their greetings, when I noticed they was another Royal blood with her.

    I stared at the lady and I noticed she looked like Katika, but more beautiful and less witchy in sight. 

    I could see and feel her staring at my and I furrowed my brows wondering why.

    I moved my eyes away from her and it landed on Akira before I could control myself again. 

    This time her head was up and as soon as I looked at her our eyes locked.

    I looked away quickly trying to concentrate on whatever Katika not her sister was doing.

    I can’t be caught staring at her, if not her end has come. But I just can’t control it. 

    My eyes keep looking at her itself.

    My heart skipped as Akira spilled the wine on Niran. If Father wasn’t in a good mood, that would have been the end of her and I would have done nothing about it, whereas it was all my fault.

    “You were staring brother.” Hana whispered to my ears and I turned my head to look at her.

    “Of course not.” I denied keeping a straight face.

    “I saw you. And you staring at her almost cost her her life. You should be careful.” She whispered and I sighed.

    “It isn’t what you think, and I never meant for her to get into trouble.” I whispered to her ears and she nodded.

    “I know Arjun. But our big brother doesn’t see it that way.” She said and I turned my head to look at Niran.

    I could see anger in his eyes, and I knew he wanted nothing less than for father to order for her head to be fed to the dogs.

    He stood up all of a sudden and walked out of the party. I looked at Hana and she sighed shaking her head.

    “Akira is already marked by Niran. And you know what that means.” She said and I bowed my head. It was all my fault.

    “I will talk to him.” I said standing up and running after him. I caught up with him on the way to his Chamber on the forth floor.

    “Niran.” I called and he stopped without looking back.

    “Didn’t you see what Father just did? He spared that lady who didn’t deserve to be spared.” He said angrily and I walked to his front.

    “Niran that was a silly mistake and Father saw that too okay?” I muttered and he shook his head negatively.

    “No. Father spared her because he was too happy to kill, not considering the fact that I was just mocked by that filty thing. She spilled Wine on me, on Prince Niran’s apparel. There is no mercy for that.” He said and I breathed out not knowing what to say anymore.

    “Niran I know you are angry, and she ought to pay. But since Father gave her another chance, you should to. And the next time she acts like that, I will be there to support you.” I said and he looked at the throne again where father was seated.

    “Well that’s exactly what I want. That she crosses my path and Father gives her that judgement he should have given her today.” He said walking away. 

    I turned to look at him as he walked away. I know Niran is this heart hardened man. Akira must do anything in her power to about him.

    If not, she would be killed. And I can’t let that happen. I need to warn her. I began to walk back to the party when I saw Nikita walking towards me.

    “Nikita.” I called stopping her and she bowed her head immediately.

    “We need to talk.” I said taking a turn away from the party and she followed me. We got to a corner where no one was and I stopped walking and faced her.

    “I’m all ears my Prince.” She said with her head bowed.

    “I need you to place a warning to the new ladies brought in. You saw what just happened with one of them, and I think they are your responsibility now.” I said and she nodded.

    “What do you need me to do?” She asked calmly.

    “You need to tell them to stay away from trouble. Most especially away from Niran if they love their lives. He hates them now, and if they cross his path next time, he won’t hesitate to execute them.” I said and she nodded.

    “I will do exactly what you have asked of me. And I am sorry about Akira’s foolishness.” She said with her head bowed and I nodded.

    “You should tell that to Niran. He was the one that got messed up.” I said walking away. I walked back to the party and sat next to Hana.

    “How was your chat?” She asked and I sipped my wine.

    “She is still on the edge of his anger. If she doesn’t any little thing to him, or anyone, he would execute her.” I said and she nodded.

    “I think she should just be a good girl then.” She said.

    “I hope so.” I mumbled staring into space.

                        NIKITA 

    I got to their room and opened the door, I walked in to meet Akira sobbing on the bed.

    “Akira.” I called and she sprang to her feet at the sound of my Voice.

    “I am so sorry Ma’am Nikita. I didn’t know what happened.” She mumbled in tears.

    “No one knows when mistakes are going to happen. But in this Place, ruled by Maeko, you need to be extra careful and do without mistakes if you want to live.” I said and she nodded sadly.

    “I acted stupid and I almost got beheaded. It’s terrifying.” She muttered in tears.

    “I know Akira, and that’s why I am here. To warn you never to make that mistake or any mistakes again because you won’t be spared.”

    “You are my responsibility now. And anything that happens to you is all my fault here. So I have come to warn you, do what is right and stay away from troubles. Not from only Prince Niran, but from everyone.” I explained and she nodded cleaning her eyes.

    “Don’t you think I should go apologize to the prince after some hours? Maybe he would listen and would have calmed down.” She said and my eyes widened.

    “You would so no such thing Akira. Going to his presence will trigger his anger even more. Prince Niran is the most complicated person in this palace.”

    “He doesn’t calm down. The same anger he is feeling right now, is the same he will feel when he keeps seeing you.” I said and I saw fear in her eyes. I could see fear radiate all over her body.

    “How are you so sure? Has this ever happened before?” She asked and I nodded.

    “Rhoda was to take food to him in his Chamber, she was careless and the she spilled the food right in front of Prince Niran.”

    “He was so angry, that he requested for her head. They did exactly as he ordered and the king could do nothing about it.” 

    “You should so thankful to your ancestors that this happened when the king is in his best moments, he would have left you to Prince Niran, and you would be dead by now.” I said and she began to shiver.

    “Does anyone even survive here at all?” She asked in frustration.

    “I am still surviving. Do as I tell you and everything will be just fine.” I said to her and she nodded slowly.

    “Thank you Ma’am Nikita.” She said and I smiled.

    “You should get back to the party.” I said and her eyes widened.

    “I don’t think that’s a good idea. Not after I just escaped a cruel death sentence. I don’t want to come face to face with the Prince again.” She said and i smiled.

    “Prince Niran left the Party in anger. And you can’t stay here when you have things to do out there. So pull yourself together, get back to work and make sure you don’t make an silly mistakes anymore. Two mistakes In a day can lead to death.” I said and she nodded.

    She reached for her jar which was empty already and carried it.

    “You should fill that up. You won’t stop serving wine till the Party is over, which is at dawn.”

    “I will pass the message I told you now to Mei and Vanna Tomorrow morning. They can’t get Into trouble under my watch, most especially Mei.”

    “I don’t know what to do with her. She is just so stubborn.” I mumbled sighing.

    “I will talk to her too. She is still not believing we are slave for real.” She said.

    “You all should start believing now. I was once In your shoes, and after a while I knew I should focusing on one thing, staying alive.”

    “If you are wise enough you would do the same. Get back to work.” I said and she nodded walking out of the room.
