    Suzanne’s standpoint

What a day. Finn stayed outside to help fix the mess with Stormy and Sebastian, while I used it as an opportunity to hurry to Lida to help me get ready to turn my mate on. She already got the seamstress to get me something while I was mourning, she gave me the dress and perfume and then the instructions on what to do. I was damn nervous, the crazy thing I had in mind to do hadn’t ever crossed my mind before. I learnt a disgusting thing to make sure I please him.

I stared at myself in the mirror, hands on my chest as I steadied my breathing. I wore nothing under the short loose chiffon dress, the sheer fabric did nothing in hiding my body. I had my hair braided to the side, it length shouldn’t be a disturbance to the moment. The perfume was harsh, pleasant but harshly alluring.

“You can do this Floriana, you guys are mated to one and other, meant to be with each other. Finn would leave him, he loves you and his actions have proved that. You can do this Floriana, woman up and walk up to your mate.”

After breathing for the next ten minutes, I nervously walked out of the room, pretending like he wasn’t on the bed going through different files that were spread on the bed. I glanced at him, he wasn’t even looking at me, he was working meticulously.

    I’ll fix that.

I hung my robe at the window and walked over to his side of the bed. Finn sat at the edge, one leg folded in the bed, the other touching the floor and his back slightly bent from the silver headboard. Did I forget to mention his bed was a royal king size canopy bed with red and grey diaphanous curtains? It wasn’t as beautiful as mine, didn’t scream out my taste because of it masculine touch. I already planned to make it more my style, but for now, I would enjoy the comfort of the red, grey and silver room.

“What you doing?” I asked playfully, dropping my royal rings on the nightstand.

“I’m going through Axel’s work, trying to combine it with mine and at the same time, I am checking the formula for the blood tablet. The message came earlier, the tablet is ready and this is the formula, I have to make sure they aren’t trying to poison my vampires.” He replied without sparing me a glance.

“How can you know if there’s poison involved?”

“I was the one who brought the idea and three third of the formula, haven’t I mentioned to you that I’m a scientist and physician?”

I snorted. “Oh pelease, you have to be way older to be able to obtain those degree, aren’t you like thirty something?”

“Florry, aren’t you the reincarnation of my more than a hundred years dead mate?” He asked with a chuckle. “With a lot of time in my hands, I learnt a lot of things, so nothing gets pass me.”

Yet I sit in front of you half naked and you haven’t noticed.

“Can’t you do this work tomorrow? I need to ask you something important.” I said nervously, rubbing my arm.

“Sorry hon, the side of your bed is clear, go to sleep, we can talk tomorrow.”

“Finn, you are making my courage cower away, I just spent one hour in that bathroom gathering the courage to face you. I can’t spend another hour tomorrow encouraging myself, now look at me and admire what I’m wearing!” I snapped upsettingly.

“Not now coniunx,” that stupid name again, “I promise we will talk… Is this e?” He asked rhetorically. I sighed disappointedly, he was the kind of man who focus on business.

“Please give me another pet name, one that doesn’t make me sound like a man.” I huffed.

    “Not now Min kärlek,”

“What’s with you and stupid names?!”

“I’ll call you whatever I want, now don’t bug me, I’m busy.”

    There goes my courage.

I stood up quietly, not uttering a single word. I walked over to my side of the bed and sat down, thinking about my life for some reason. I was really hoping for a better reaction from the man I loved, he didn’t even look at me. I sighed heavily and lifted the bedsheet, I was sad.

“What the…!” I looked over my shoulder, he was finally looking at me. I looked away from him and got into the bed, covering myself up to my shoulder.

Excitement, I was bubbling with joy now, he finally noticed me. I closed my eyes, unable to hold back my smile as his gaze dug holes into my head. It felt like I was going to explode with joy, he hadn’t even made a move but I was happy.

“Florry?” He called softly, he was already laying behind me. His hot breath fanned my ear and cheek, blood rushed into my cheeks.

“What? I thought you were busy,” I said feigning annoyance, though my smile didn’t help much, “go back to work.”

“I can work tomorrow, I already packed the files, it can wait.”

“Finn, leave me alone, I want to sleep…” I waved my hand away, pushing his face away from me. “I told you I spent one hour encouraging myself, my courage is gone now, along with my desires.”

“I can bring it back, please blooma,”

“Blooma now? Really Finn?” I chuckled.

“Come on, don’t make me tickle you to submission.” He threatened jokingly. I turned around, still making sure the covers stayed above my chest.

“Only if you promise to be gentle and let me take control, I am the alpha in bed, got it?” I asked grinningly. His mouth fell open in shock, disbelief twinkling in his eyes. “Babe, I’m waiting.” I said in a singsong.

“Humph,” he smiled and caught my nose with his fingers, “the last time I checked, you didn’t even know what a blowjob is.”

“Should I show you how much I know about it now? I’ve been practising.” I said excitedly.

“Are you sure you can handle it? I’m a difficult man to please.” He said with a smirk. I snorted and smirked back.

“No matter how difficult you are, you will always succumb to your mate’s and alpha’s touch, that’s one of the good thing about the mate bond. Now confess that I am your alpha in the walls of this room.”

“You will have to dominate me first,” he shrugged innocently. I smiled slyly and pushed him on the bed. I quickly astraddle him, allowing the bedcover to fall down to my waist. His slight hardness poked my behind, causing me to smile evilly. “What?”

“Someone is already hard for me, that proves I AM the alpha.” I uttered conceitedly.

“Like I said, you’ll have to prove it first sea girl.”

“Oh no you didn’t,” I laughed, “sea girl, really? Do you need help with a name?”

“I don’t see you coming up with anything better, don’t judge.” He pouted.

“We’ll argue about this another time, now I am going to get off you and you will undress quietly.”

    “Excuse me?” He laughed.

“Yes, undress for me,” I got off him and folded my legs, “and do it sexily, like a hot man on hire.”

He burst into laughter, his amusement really obvious. I kept my face straight, waiting for him to oblige to my demands. “Alright, undress it is.”

He slowly crawled out of the bed and stood on his feet, a sexy smile on his face. I watched as he unbuttoned his shirt, slowly and sexily removing them. He chuckled when I ogled his chest, his beautiful abs and muscles. My eyes memorised every single lines of muscles, every hollow, every spots on his immaculate chest.

Why are some people so perfectly made? And why are others not?

He slipped off his shirt and dropped it on the floor, still giving me his amuse but sexy smile and causing me to girn. He unbuckled his belt and slowly slipped his loose pants down and kicked it off carelessly. I coughed nervously when I saw the protrusion from his boxers. Then he pulls his boxers down his hips and pass his muscular thighs, revealing what was hiding behind his boxers.

I choked on my saliva, holding my throat to calm down. “Are you alright love?” He asked with a lopsided smirk.

“I’m fine,” I coughed, “my saliva doubled over, shocking.”

“I thought alphas were bold,” he taunted, leaning down on the bed. He rest his palms on the bed and smirked slyly, “this dress looks so…” He sucked in a deep breath, “spectacular on you. If I drop my jaw, will you lean over and pick it up?”

“Only if you don’t have drool allover it,” I said with a wink, he threw his head back and laughed. I was greatly amusing him. “Stop laughing, I’m trying to be sexy.”

    “Alright sexy mama, your turn.”

“I take my dress off when I want to, now lay down and let mama do the work.”

Finn shook his head with a quiet laugh, he could laugh for now, soon he would be moaning my name. Finn continued to laugh as he got back on the bed. I took back my previous astride position and wiggled myself on his hardness. His laughing seized, his face wrinkled up. I wiggled my brows at him.

    “Feeling dominated yet?” I teased.

    “Not close baby doll.”

I harden my face and looked down at his chest where I placed my hands, the coldness of his skin merged with mine, his soft flesh melted into my hands. I ran my hands over his shoulders and chest, relishing the flex of his muscles underneath my delving fingers. I shifted down, gliding my behind on his shaft. I bent my body down and ran the tip of my tongue on one of his hard male nipple. He groaned, squirming a little. I ran my tongue on the other, rewarding myself with the satisfaction of another groan.

I smirked and sent my hands to his back. I slid my hands down his back, memorising the smooth flow of warm flesh ending at the base of his spine. I smushed his excellent cheeks, making noises of pleasure. Moving south of his body, I explored the backs of his hard thighs and sturdy calves.

“Are you just going to keep teasing me?” He asked impatiently, his voice a lecherous silk.

    “Sorry, what did you say?”

“Stop frustrating me and do what you ought to do.” He snapped.

“Admire me as your alpha, say it big boy,” I teased, “come on?”

“Okay fine, I admire you as my alpha, now stop frustrating me.”

“I hadn’t even started,” I said with a laugh, “I only touched you.” He narrowed his eyes at me, warning me to keep quiet and continue.

I took hold of one of his nipple and rolled it over my thumb, squishing his lightly. I removed my hand and held the hem of the dress, pulled it over my head and threw it somewhere behind me. Finn sucked in a deep breath. His heated gaze touched my breasts, and it felt as though he’d slid his tongue across them. I wiggled my nose as my nipples harden. Finn reached for my breasts but I swat his hand away.

“Don’t touch me, not until I order you to.”

I was playing tough, but I hoped I wouldn’t disappoint him or I would never hear the end of it.

    Time to get more serious.

I shifted back so I could massage his inner thighs. I reached for his shaft and traced his length with the tip of my finger and circled the head. A shudder worked it’s way through his body in anticipation of what I’d do next. I grinned and then licked a wreathing path along his shaft, swirling my tongue around until his body bucked beneath me. I grinned when I saw the grimace on his face, the difficulty he was having controlling himself from going nuts.

“Stop fighting it, give in to me Finn, enjoy the moment.”

    “Make me.”

I chuckled darkly and brought my face back to his shaft. Obsessed with my need to please him more and make him moan my name like Lida said to make sure he did, I slid my lips over the head. He hissed, a sort of hasten holler hiss. I wondered if I was doing it right, but still kept working my way up and down his hard flesh, teasing him all the way down to his balls which my fingers had control of.

Slowly, torturously, I ran my teeth and tongue, frustrating me until he begged me to go faster. With a victorious smile, I increases the pace of my mouth torture. Finn’s hand sank into my hair, forcefully ushering my head down to take in as much of him as I could take. Just as I felt his member swell, I quickly removed my mouth and sprinted to the bathroom, laughing loudly. I slammed the door shut and used my body to hold it.

    “Floriana!”

    “Yes baby?” I laughed.

“Come out and finish what you started!” He shouted angrily.

“Sorry what? I don’t speak gibberish.” Finn hammered on the door, trying to push it open, but my body held it down.

“What did I ever did to you?” He cried.

“You did the same thing to me, duh.”

“I’m sorry, I am really, really sorry. Now open this door before I… Stupid me, I can teleport.”

“Wait… What!” I shrieked. Finn popped up in front of me, grinning devilishly.

“Hello mate,” he wiggled his brows at me. I sank down the door, my heart sank with me. “Bet you didn’t know I could teleport, now I will destroy you.”

“Finn, let’s be reasonable adults and talk about a term of negotiation,” I pleaded desperately, glancing around for any weapon. Using my powers would be going too far, and where is the fun in that? “I co…” I squealed as he heaved me over his shoulder. He teleported back to the bedroom, the bed to be precise.

Finn slammed me on the bed and pulled my hands high above my head. In a blur he was gone and back, and I was tied up.

“Hey! I said I am the alpha, you can’t tie me up!”

“You already had your turn, and I admit you did a great job. But now, it’s my turn.”

Hell! I was going to visit hell.

Finn knelt between my spread out tied legs and kissed a path to my breasts. All logical sense gave way for predominant sexual hunger. He attacked and feast on my chest, devouring my tits and teasing my navel. Like the time he kissed me back at the dinning table, a delightful scream left my mouth. Flame spread through my chest to my throat and around my body. The fire burnt through every inch of my veins, boiled my blood in delightful rage and stirred my entire system in ecstasy.

Once again, my vision whirled in bliss, I wasn’t only seeing splashes of rainbow water in my eyes, I saw fireworks, colourful fishes and dancing dolphins. My consciousness, spirit and soul toppled over their axes when he travelled south, down down south. I moaned and screamed and begged and I am not an alpha.

And when Finn’s cack finally slid slowly inside me, my brain completely stopped working. Pleasure clouded brain, that was all I saw, fountains of ecstasy flowing down the stream of my analytical brain. He wasn’t at cruel as unexpected him to be. He pushed in slowly, stretching and filling me. I was too arouse to worry about the pain. He held still, refusing to move any further.

I growled and snapped my hands free from the fabric binds and dug my claws into his butt, drawing a groan from him. I forced him deeper inside me, changing every possibility of reluctance. I whimpered a little when he drew out and glided back in, stretching me further.

He plunged in and out of me again and again, driving me closer to the river of ecstasy and satisfaction with every stroke. I scaling through a mountain, climbing up to it very peak. Just as I finally reached it, showers of bliss washed over me and Finn sank his teeth into my neck.

I gasped, his teeth in my neck ampified my orgasm. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as my blood left me in delight. His own pleasure combined with mine, twisted in a binding knot with mine. It threw me high and slammed me down on the ground, my head swelled and whirled from the intensity of the ecstasy.

“Mark me love.” I acted on his command, drew out my fangs and repeated his actions, though I didn’t drink much of his blood. The connection doubled and toppled on each other, colliding in a brutal crash and merging into one.

I could hear his every thoughts, I could feel his emotions. Our souls were one, our minds made sealed together.

“Who’s the alpha now?” He laughed telephatically. I pushed him off me, rolling my eyes and refusing to laugh too. Finn fell on the bed beside me, still laughing.

“Finn, am I going to get pregnant?”

“Vampires don’t get pregnant so easily, you’ll have to wait for hundreds of years to conceive one.” He replied still laughing.

“But I’m a sea maid, not a vampiress.”

“Shut up or I kiss your lips shut,” he threatened, “now come here.” Finn pulled me into a cuddle, something felt wrong with me. My legs were tingling, my scales was struggling to get out. I shrugged it off and shut my eyes, didn’t matter.

I threw myself on the bed, it had been a long exhausting day. Finn was awake now, going through a book. He had been quiet since I returned, didn’t say more than three words since I came back.

    Welcome back.

    Fine.

I looked at him from underneath my heavy lashes, he looked so sexy with his hair falling allover his shoulders and down to his breasts. He usually always had his hair up in a messy or neat man bun, I had never seen him let his hair down before. He looked so good. My body was starting to burn up again, I was like an animal in heat , but I couldn’t tell him or he would feel bad.

Finn sighed heavily and slammed the book shut. “This is why I have been avoiding you,” he looked at me with disapprovement, he wasn’t happy about what I was feeling. “Why do you have to be like that now? I can smell your arousal from here.”

I decided to ignore him and turned my head on the pillow, it was better I didn’t look at him. My body had a natural cooling system, I would have to turn it on to suppress the burning.

“Okay, turn around and lay on your back,” I raised my head from the pillow and looked at him, “I might not be able to feel anything, but I can help take care of that for you, at least you can feel.”

“You’ll do that for me?” I asked excitedly.

“Better that than been driving to madness by your smell.”

“I can cool off, beside your legs are still…” He bent his legs up and smiled. “You can walk?”

“I can move my legs but I am yet to walk, I think by tomorrow I will be able to stand. Come on hon, lay and spread for me.”

“Lay and spread? What does that mean?” I asked curiously. Don’t look at me, I’m a complete novice.

    “Lay on your back Suzanne…”

“Florry,” I corrected snappily, “I’ve told you that.”

“Florry, I need to go back to this if you don’t mind,” he waved the big red book, “now lay on your back, rest your head on the pillow and spread your legs like you are making a bed angel.” He instructed patiently.

Knew I should have taken Bernice’s and Sandra’s sex lesson when I had the chance.

“Like this?” I asked as I took the position I think he wanted me to take.

He sighed. Finn dropped the book on the nightstand and crawled to his knees, he grunted and moaned in pain.

“You lied to me!” I shrieked in alarm.

“No, it just hurt when I move after stretching for more than five minutes,” he said under his breath. He was in so much pain, I could tell that from the blood running down his nose. I scoot closer to him, whimpering as my mate hurt himself to please me. “Don’t worry, I’ll be done in…aah!”

“That’s enough Finn,” I pushed him back on the bed and stretched his legs, “don’t hurt yourself, I don’t feel like getting screwed again.”

    “No, I can still…”

“You’ll be all fine in three to five days, I can bear, I promise.” My eyes welled up as more blood oozed from his nose.

    “I can do it…”

“Finn, feed from me,” I pushed my wrist to his lips. He took my hand into his mouth and began feeding. Him feeding from me brought my arousal back. I clenched my legs with hope that he won’t perceive me this time. Finn looked at me in the eyes as he fed from me.

He retracted his fangs and gave me a bloody toothy grin. “I feel better now, time to set your mood on fire.”

    “Finn…”

“Shhh,” he shushed, pushing me down on the bed. “Don’t move…” He said as he knelt up.

“Finn, I can’t…” I squeaked when he pulled me towards him, settling me on his laps. He groaned from the pain.

“Okay, let’s try this another less painful way,” he pushed me back. I quickly scoot away from him and sat up. “I promise I won’t kneel this time, rest your back.”

I looked into his determined eyes and resigned to defeat. I laid on the bed, I didn’t had on any underwear. He laid straight, resting his weight on one elbow and gazed into my eyes.

“Don’t look away from my eyes, don’t shut yours or avert it or I’ll punish you.” He commanded. I rolled my eyes mentally, he really thought he had some power over me.

I looked down at his hand as he pushed my short dress up, he slapped my thigh, reminding me to look into his eyes. I averted my eyes to his and stared with boredom, he wasn’t exciting me.

“Patient amica mea,” he smirked, a very suspicious one.

“What the hell does that mean?”

He shrugged with a cryptic grin. I was tempted to look down as Finn’s finger started teasing my thigh, it was making me uncomfortable and my stomach wasn’t at ease. His finger crawled deeper until his knuckles brushed over me, it caused my body to shiver.

    “What was that?” I gasped.

“That coniunx, is only the beginning.”

Coniunx, Latin word for female mate. Couldn’t he call me something sweeter than that? It sounds like the name of a blonde knight. Well, the feeling of the name was all gone when Finn brought his lips down to mine. I had no idea what he had installed for me, and like he said then, it was only the beginning.

    ~

I stretched my hands way up high above my head, another exhausting day. After what Finn did to me, I promised I wouldn’t go near his room again. He drove me to Olympics with his slender but strong fingers, and when I was about to reach my throne, he pulled me down to earth. What I mean is that he left me hanging, no matter how much I begged. He said it was punishment for not telling him what I was and still not telling him.

Well, revenge is served better when hot.

I already had my plans, but I would wait until he gets better and then make him beg. For now, ignoring him would do just fine. He didn’t need my blood to heal again, he would be fine on his own.

“Milady! I have good news!” Casmir shouted as he ran into the office with Axel behind him. “Guess what my little boy discovered while playing at fire peak mountain?!”

    “A shark?” I asked dumbly.

“No, he… Wait what?” Casmir blinked at me while Axel stifled a laugh.

I shrugged, “you never know what you will find anywhere, don’t blame me.”

“A shark at the top of a mountain? A mountain which fire never seize? Are you talking about roasted or fried shark?” Casmir asked amusedly.

“Okay Casmir, what did you find?” I chuckled.

“Stephan’s treasure! We found a whole cave of treasures that belonged to Stephan and we know it is his because…”

“Finn told you where to find it but your son beat you to it, I know.” I tapped my feather on my lips and smiled, at least mine won’t be touched for now then.

“Shall I get the treasures transported here?”

“Tell Knight that Finn said he should tag along and make sure no one attacks, if the treasures are as huge as my scales tell me, then bandits won’t be too far. No one knows about it yet?”

“No, my son went there alone, he loves exploring.” I nodded.

“Then I leave the rest to you, you are dismissed.”

“Now, the plans for the new security post,” Axel grinned as he waved a big folded carbon. “Let’s get this over with.”

“Actually, Finn would attend to it, he would be in his work room reading, go meet him and… How’s Sandra?”

“She will be up tomorrow, I can’t wait,” he said excitedly, “this is taking too long.”

    “Do you need me?”

“No, when she wakes up, she will attack the first person she sees, I better handle it alone.” He glanced at the door and frowned.

    “What is it?”

“Who set the king’s wild cat free!”

“He has a wild cat?!” I shrieked as I jolt to my feet, I am terrified of wild cats.

“Hybrid cat. Body of a tiger but spots and jaw of a jaguar, strength and mane of a lion, face of a cougar, speed of a cheetah and tail of a manticore. He is dangerous.”

Sure, why not have all the animals I am afraid of in one body, nice going Finn!

The creature burst into the room, his eyes fell on me instantly. It gave a happy meow and leapt into the air before Axel could help. The cat landed on me, forcing me down to the floor. He licked my face, purring and making funny sounds.

“I think he likes you,” Axel laughed. “Isn’t that cute.”

“Get off me kisser!” He nudged me with his head and roared playfully. “Okay, okay, what’s your name big guy?” Funny thing, I didn’t feel afraid anymore.

“He doesn’t have a name, he rejects every name given to him and that is why he can’t talk. In order for him to talk, he has to be named by the right person, only the right person will know his name. He loves the king but I guess you are his real owner.”

“Down kitty,” I commanded, he jumped back and sat, still feeling like pouncing. “So, I own you huh? What should I name you?” I asked, stroking my wet chin.

I shrugged, didn’t have time to think, I have to see Lida. “I’ll call you Sebastian, like it?”

The cat thingy jumped in the air and started bouncing around happily, swaying his oversized behind. “I have a name!”

“Now he talks,” Axel snorted and exited the place.

“Hey! Can I go chase the guard with the big head around? His head keeps calling out to me but Finn says no chasing of his men.” He whined.

    “Would you kill him?”

“His head is squeaky, like a chew toy!” He shrieked. “So can I?! Can I?!”

“No, you will chew his head,” I said sternly, folding my arms. The cat was almost seven feet tall, his body looked like moss grew on it when it didn’t. He was green, honey and claret in colour, with flashy beryl eyes.

“Can I eat their shoes? It’s tasty! Oh! And those squirrels and bunnies!”

“Aren’t you too big to chase the little ones?”

    “I love shoes.” He grinned.

    “Then knock yourself out.”

“Yay!!!” He thundered and dashed out. How many pets does Finn have?

After wiping my face, I hurried to find Lida. I found her yelling at some vampire men who did something, they all looked like hell would have been better than standing there.

“Lida,” I called in panic. She turned and arched a brow while the others bowed. I didn’t give her time to bow, I snatched her hand and pull her along with me. “I need help, I’m having a sexual crisis here!”

“Am I suppose to know about this?” She asked awkwardly.

“Don’t feel like that, you are the only girl I know and trust here, I need to know what and what to do to torture and pleasure a man, I need sex lessons.” I whispered as I pulled her into the stable. We were at the castle’s stable.

“Haven’t you ever gotten a nice screw before?” I shook my head negatively. “What…” She gasped lowly, “why? No men?”

“Until I met Finn, no man had ever seen my face, my sisters and I had to protect ourselves from getting on wanted papers.” I explained sheepishly.

“And you didn’t like men, did you?” I nodded to her question. She placed her hands on her hips and sighed heavily. “Ever got a head before?”

    “A head?” I touched mine, “don’t I have one?”

“Right,” she chuckled, “ever kissed someone or had them do at least fingering?”

    “Fingering? What’s that?”

“You have got to be kidding me! You don’t even know that one?!” I swallowed hard and scratched my head.

“Is it the one where fingers do this job of the shaft?” I asked puzzledly, one could easily see my struggle to keep up.

“Yes, that’s the one. Don’t tell me you don’t even know how everything down there works? Didn’t you go to school?”

“I avoided those topic, it was too foreign and no, I didn’t go to school after my parents died. Claudia tried to send us back to school, but after we got involved as The Wind, we just quit. I continued learning from what I knew, same as the others. Look, I know this is weird coming from your queen, but right now I need a friend who would help me, I don’t want to remain the log of wood I was yesterday, I want to surprise him.” My voice sounded so broken, I really wanted to surprise him and then make him pay.

“Alrighty then!” She squealed. “You have come to the right dick sucker!”

    Kassandra’s standpoint

Sounds, my ears picked up sounds, every single one. I could hear the scratching of a lizard somewhere in the house, the squeaking of the mouse running around somewhere. I arched my back as I picked up some scents, everything was so new and powerful. Footstep, someone was coming. The sweet smell of the person reached me, his cologne was never this strong before. I ran my tongue across my teeth…

    Ow! It stabbed me!

I opened my eyes, rising up to sit immediately. I felt my teeth, my canines were like pointed daggers in my mouth. I looked at the wall, I could see some ants walking with food, from that far.

“Who am I?” I looked at my hands. I had to remember, and I also felt so parched and in need of water.

The door opened and a man walked in, his cologne filled my nostrils. I knew it, but again, I didn’t. I tilted my head as his smile grew wide. “You are awake!”

You look delicious… I thought, he looked like food. My fangs grew longer than it already had as I saw the veins in his neck and arms. His blood flowed ever so gently through it, calling me to come.

“You are even calmer than I expected you to be Sandra, your self-control must be strong.”

    That’s it, come closer.

Immediately he sat on the bed, I jumped at him and pinned him down, he didn’t fight me. I sank my fangs into his manly neck. His blood rushed into my mouth, emitting a purr from me. The man tasted nice, he felt nice, like he belonged to me. I purred again and straddled him as I drank his blood. Drinking felt so natural, it was me.

“You feel that babe?” He asked chucklingly, rubbing his thumb on a sensitive part between my legs. Nub, how do I know what that is? “You feel it love?” I purred louder, grinning myself on his thumb. “You like it huh?”

I removed my teeth from his neck and looked into his eyes, what is he doing to me? “Who are you?”

“I’m your mate, you are my girlfriend.”

    Mate, what is a mate?

“Shhh, try to remember Sandy, that’s your name, Kassandra…” I cried out when he sank two fingers into me. I wasn’t wearing any clothes.

    Clothes, what are clothes?

“Being a vampire have made you so irresistible, you are an aphroditic vampire, one of the rare, you smell like one.”

“Vampire?” I moaned, somehow I knew what that was and I liked It. “Aphroditic vampire? What is that?”

“A vampiress with the power to sway people’s emotions and convert it into power, bending them to succumb to her will and obeying her commands…” He turned me over on the bed, slamming me down. “They are irresistible, like nymphs, no man who sees them wouldn’t want to kiss their feet and even ram there,” he said as he kissed down my throat, “beauty is their companion, they feed off people’s emotions and are very sly but peace loving, like Aphrodite herself. So my dear mate, you have been blessed by Aphrodite, the only aphroditic vampire I have heard of in a hundred years.”

“Does that make me special?” I moaned, squirming under his intense touch. His hands and mouth spread fire everywhere they travelled to, even when his fingers drove into me. It felt so good.

“It makes you trouble as every male won’t be able to get their eyes off my mate, you will have to be careful because rape is an actual thing and once an aphroditic vampire is raped, she dies.”

    “Why?”

“Made to seduce, never to be subdued. Your kind barely have mates as their free will enslaves them, the power to feel every emotions drove most mad while many were raped or killed by the woman of the trapped vampire. Like I said, your kind her foxy and peaceful, but when they start troubling, they are impossible to stop except by death.”

“Then I am bad news?” I whimpered.

“You are my mate, you were before you became one and you will forever be. I’m marking you now to put an electric barrier around you, against all who would want you for your body. The barrier will connect to your powers and conceal it enough to not draw too much attention, only when you need it.”

I wiggled as I felt something between my legs, my cunt was throbbing.

    “Ready babe?”

“For what?” I asked absent mindedly, blinded by pleasure. He chuckled. Something slowly slid into me, it felt so good my hips buckled upwards, my eyes rolled out of sight. “What is this? It feels so good.” I moaned, moving my hips around and rotating over what was in me.

“That’s it kitty, just like that,” the man growled. Somehow, what he said made me happy. I followed my instinct and turned us over, forcing him under and staying straddled on him, looks like his body part was in me.

I lifted myself up and lowed my body down again, sinking my long nails into his chest. He groaned from both pain and pleasure, holding on to my hips firmly. My body seemed to know what to do, like there was something at the back of my head reminding me of how to do it. I moved on him, riding his dipstick slowly, increasing my pace. Images flashed in my head as I rode him faster and harder, as our moans and groans bounced off the walls of the room.

I knew this man, he knew me. I remembered how I woke up with the dude allover my chest, my sisters… Axel.

    “Axel,” I called out.

“I’m right here baby, I told you I will.” He interlaced his fingers with mine. Something came to my head, when I was dead, some demon tried to claim my soul but Claudia appeared and ripped him into two. She was glowing so bright, dressed like a war angel.

Claudia seized me from the hands of death and took off before my soul was taken, she ultramarine and black wings and a giant sword on her back. It made me wonder how she could lift that thing. She was the one who took me to Aphrodite, a goddess face whom I never saw but I could feel her power and beauty overwhelming me.

“Here she is, but are you sure my sister is who you want to be an aphroditic vampire? She might get killed.”

“I owe you for saving Eros Claudia, and this is the only way I can think of repaying you.” The memory was fresh.

“If you really want to repay me, tell your son to stop stalking me and drooling, I saved his life, not told him to follow me around with his horny ass.” Claudia snarled. I didn’t understand.

“Claudia, one of the most stubborn soul I have ever seen, Hera is starting to suspect that you might be one of Zeus’s product of infidelity with humans.”

“Just because I escaped Hades and somehow found myself a celestial spirit between space and time doesn’t mean I am his offspring, I’m just different…”

“And beautiful, that is why my son is crazy about you.” Aphrodite teased. I snorted along with Claudia, she would never bend to a man, she was born stubborn.

“Claudia, what am I doing here? Why are you here? Are you dead?”

“Ask Finn.” Was all she said before she looked behind her and growled.

“I’ve told you to stop following me! For Pete sake Eros, I don’t want you!” She snarled and took off to the sky. I could have sworn I saw a man take off after all.

“Now Kassandra, you belong to me now and you shall now be known as Carys, daughter of Aphrodite.”

I came back to reality, I was still on Axel, beating every other record of ride he has ever had. The look on his face and words said it all, he was close as well as I was. Axel spun me on the bed and sank his fangs into my neck as we both popped at the same time. His pleasure was mine as mine was his. The ecstasy from both of us knotted together, twisted by bolts of electricity and collided with such powerful force. It rose high like a mountain and collapsed on us, swelling our heads and binding our emotions together. And when I bit him again, our thoughts became one.

Axel watched me with disapproval as I dressed up. After that, Axel made me feed from his human pet, she looked like she was being well taken care of by Axel and was more than willing to let me feed. Then we had sex again before I decided I had to see Claudia, she had some explaining to do.

“Just stay in for a while,” Axel grumbled, “you can go tomorrow.”

“No, I am going today. Now are you going to join me or am I in this alone?” He muttered some curses and threw the duvet off to get ready.

An hour later I was waiting for Suzanne in the castle giant living room, the king was seated there studying me, his new subject. Now I knew why none could disobey him, the aura around him was so powerful I felt like bowing which I was by the way. Suzanne ran in squealing.

“Sandy!” I stood up and rushed her, I’ve missed her so much. “Look at you, you are crushing my bones.” She laughed.

I let go of her and grinned sheepishly, “still getting use to my strength, I’m sorry.”

“Understood, now let’s talk about… Why do you have the aura of a goddess?”

“She’s an aphroditic vampire,” Axel replied, grinning at me with pride. “She’s the only one and very powerful, she still has her soul and is very much human. Her body is warm like a human’s and her heart beats like one, but she has all the qualities of a vampiress. Isn’t she cute?”

“What did you just say?” I growled.

“Uh-oh,” Suzanne said, stepping away from me. “Axel, take that back.”

“But she’s cute,” he laughed. I hate that! My vision turned pink and before I knew what I was doing, something like a pink chain whip appeared in my hand. “What the fuck!”

“Don’t call me cute!” I screamed and whipped at him. Axel quickly jumped out of the way, the whip lashed on the couch, ripping it into two, then the split halves turned to shattered pieces of pink glass.

“Hey! You could have killed me!”

“I am not cute! Take that back!” I yelled, lashing the chain whip again. Axel jumped out of the way, causing the whip to hit the floor. The floor divided at the impact, causing the house to quake. The split part slowly started turning to shattered glass.

“I don’t remember aphroditic vampires having that power!” Axel screamed as I turned to him again.

Come on Sandy! He’s your mate!

“Kassandra, kneel.” M’lord commanded frivolously, my body plunged down and I feel on my knees. He looked at the shattering ground and it began mending itself.

“M’lord please, she is new to this, is doesn’t know how to control her anger,” Axel pleaded, panic written in his eyes. “Milady please don’t let him punish her.” Axel cried.

“Finn, let my sister go.” Suzanne said with a scowl.

“Sister in-law or not, no one strike in my house, especially at my third in command, the assistant general of my army. Stay out of this.”

“Is this because I refused to talk to you?” Suzanne snorted. It felt like a million chains were binding me down.

“Yes, talk to me and I’ll let her go.”

“Claudia,” I spoke, tears running down my cheeks as I realised something. “Where is Claudia?”

“Yeah, where is my sister Finn?” Suzanne asked as she stood in front of him with arms akimbo.

    “Crap.” He muttered.

“Finn, where is my sister!” Suzanne shouted angrily, her eyes turned red.

“Claudia is dead,” I sobbed, “I saw her, she snatched me from Hades, Claudia is dead Suzanne.”

“Floriana,” She corrected, “and what! You killed my sister Finn!”

“Claudia died a long time ago, the one with you was a spirit.”

“What?” Suzanne and I breathe. Then the king explained how she was killed a long time ago, but her determination to protect us brought her back, she was a ghost. I remembered the time Claudia went missing for five days, Suzanne was restless and kept saying she was seeing death. We searched and cried and cried until she showed up mysteriously, she was acting so odd.

It was from there we started as The Wind, from then I got my agility and reflexes, my speed and her sudden strength. He pointed out facts to us, ones we never took notice of. How when I woke up at night, I would always see Claudia awake and staring at us with tears in her eyes but never remembered, how sometimes people acted like she was invisible when we walked in the street as us. How she never had a shadow and would speak weirdly sometimes. Every year, she would disappear for five days like the time she died, her death anniversary. And when she returned, she smelt different.

It was true, my sister was dead. Shocked, I had been long freed from his captivity but still couldn’t move. I cried as Axel held me in his arms, my heart felt like it was being ripped apart.

“Florry, I know this would act as a shock to you, but you have t…” Suzanne collapsed on the floor. “Floriana!”

“Suzanne!” I shouted, pushing away from Axel to meet my sister. She was out cold, her body couldn’t contain the shock like it didn’t when my parents died. King Finn couldn’t move from where he sat, he couldn’t walk and was brought here in a wheelchair.

“Suzanne, get me water! Somebody get her to water!!!” I screamed frantically. Her amulet glowed, throwing me off her. I watched in awe as the blue light engulf her, swallowing her body completely. When the light died down, Suzanne was gone. “Where…”

“Her amulet took her to my bedroom,” m’lord grumbled, “I have to go.”

One sister was dead, I just couldn’t lose another. Claudia, why didn’t you let us mourn you long ago.

    Suzanne’s standpoint

I looked around the room I was in, it looked more like a room fit for a prisoner than a bedroom. I was back in one of those visions, one where that green girl was being tormented by the vampire guy who happened to be a king. In my dreams I saw him there, yelling at her while others treated her bad. Green girl was in so much pain.

This time, I was seeing through her eyes, I was acting as her. He didn’t hit the green girl much, Dainty – like he called her – but his bite was worse than any physical assault. Finn as his name was, always left her drained of every energy with little blood to spare. Dainty was in hell. I hated him, I hate him for what he made her go through, what he forced the innocent tree nymph to endure. And you want to know the funniest thing about it all, Dainty loved him so much.

How do you love someone who cause you so much pain?

Dainty loved him dearly, loved him insanely, and even when he hurt her, all her heart wished for was to be good enough for him, to make him happy. Now I was in her body, I hated the fact that I had to feel all her love towards him, I had to endure the pain he was making her go through. Death wasn’t enough for him, he deserves to suffer.

“Oh Dainty,” my heart skipped, it wasn’t my heart but hers, but as I was reliving her life, it was mine. No matter how I wanted to protest, I couldn’t. I was acting a script the exact way it happened years ago. And on top of that, I still didn’t know who I was.

Finn entered the room, staring at her like the most delicious food in the planet. He dared look upon his mate as food instead of companion. I despise him, yet her heart loved him. I wish I could meet the vampire and run a silver blade into his rotten heart.

    “Dainty, it’s dinner time,”

“No, please…” She sobbed, my heart bled for her. Dainty scrambled back in the bed, reaching the dead end known as the headboard. There was a blur of movement before he was pinning her – which is me considering the acting part – on the bed, claws digging into my shoulders.

“I had a good time today, Lady Moor did a good job in warming my bed, but all I could think of was your blood, your blood was the only thing that arouse me. Do you think that is a good idea?”

Dainty smiled, the thought of her mate thinking about her while in bed with another woman pleased her, at least he only enjoyed her because he pretended she was her, that was what Dainty smiled for.

You idiot! He was thinking about your blood, not your body or miserable face!… Oh I so wanted to tell those words to her and smack her in the face until she regains her senses, but I couldn’t.

“Now that you have succeeded in luring me away from the woman whose body excites me more than my own mate’s, what are we going to do?” He smirked evilly, his smile filled with creepy and cruel suggestions.

“Knowing that you will always come back seeking me pleases me My Lord, even if it is just to feed. I know without doubt that my body is the one body you crave endlessly, one you can never get enough of. Be it my blood or the pleasure of just ramming me brutally, my body is the only that can grant you the release you seek.”

Bold, she only spoke boldly in times like this, fully aware that after saying it, he would pounce on her. Dainty didn’t care, oh she enjoyed seeing the fury in his eyes, the one which could never seize because her words were true. Whether or not he hit her, it didn’t matter to her, the fact that the truth hurt him was enough for her. And also, knowing that he would continue to long for her was enough to make her love him more.

Finn hissed in anger, his claws growing out further, almost impossibly but so possible. She winced as the pain shot through her, in other words, I winced as I felt her pain. Without any more moment left, he roughly tilted her neck and brutally shoved his teeth in. I screamed from the intense pain, I didn’t deserve to be feeling it. I screamed more as he tore my dress open, burying his fangs deeper and deeper.

I opened my eyes, I was back in my room. My hand went up to the side of my neck, I could still feel the pain lingering. As expected, my eyes were tired of crying. I exhaled loudly and rubbed my neck. Why was I seeing it? The room wasn’t safe anymore.

I threw the covers off me and hurried out of my room. I knew man the Kale’s room like the back of my hand, I had stayed three days already and he loves me, even if he won’t admit me. I met man the Kale’s choice mate, she wasn’t even beautiful, and had no character. What did he see in her.

I found my way to his room and opened the door, it’s never lock when she is in. I huffed, he was with her and I was alone. I stomped to the bed and yanked the cover off them. Man the Kale sighed, he already knew I was coming before I even thought of it. See why I love him? He’s so powerful and knows me like the back of his hand.

    “What the…” Mate snatcher murmured.

“Man the Kale, I can’t sleep,” I cried, whacking her with the covers.

“Hey! Why you dirty whore! How dare you walk into our…”

“This bedroom isn’t yours Mama Bitch, it’s man the Kale’s and you are not his mate, I am. Now get your bad body off the bed and out of his room!”

“One more words from you again, and I’ll murder you right now!” Boyfriend snatcher screamed. “I am the Luna of this pack and you must respect me as long as you are in my house!”

“You are not the Luna, not until you bare me a child,” I smirked as man the Kale spoke heartlessly. “The agreement we took when I made you my choice mate was that you will only fully be my wife and luna after you bear me a successor, but if you don’t and I get tired of you, I dump you.”

“But I’m trying,” snatcher cried, “it’s not easy because I am not your mate, it will take time…”

“Hello! I’m right here, I can conceive easily, now move!”

“That’s enough Florry, go to you room.” He commanded, he ordered me. I huffed, folded my arms and packed myself at the edge of the bed.

    “No.”

    “Get out before…”

“Kimberly, leave my room.” I jumped up victoriously, he sent her out because of me.

Kim stared at him wide eyed, mouth open with disbelief. “I should leave?”

“I believe he didn’t have water in his mouth when he spoke, leave our room and stay away from my mate.” I said with a air of victory surrounding me.

    “But…but…I’m your mate…”

“Point of correction, choice mate, not my mate. You are just the woman I chose to bear my children, not because I care about your pitiful existence or I am emotionally attached to you. Remember your place woman, I placed you above almost all, but that doesn’t make you my queen. Now get out of my room.”

“I hate you!” She screamed at me and ran out in tears. I squealed and then arranged the covers back before getting in the bed. Man the Kale turned his back to me while I hugged him from behind, he loves me so much.

“Floriana, I am not your mate.” He sighed.

“You know you are, we are in love,” I tightened my hands around his waist. Man the Kale looked at me over his shoulder, I couldn’t see his face well, it was dark.

“Are you still seeing the visions?”

“Yes, I’m scared, Finn keeps hurting Dainty.” I said sadly.

“It all happened in the past, Finn is a changed vampire now, I assure you that. Please, just recover your memory already, I can’t keep this closeness for long.” He lamented.

“How old are you? Rumour has it that you are almost as old as the vampire king. But how can you be that old when you were born few years ago? I’m curious.” I tried to see his face, straining my neck to see.

“I’ve been alive way before I took this body, way before Finn himself was born. Everything under the moon is part of my memories, all that happens beneath the sunlight is stored in here,” he jabbed his forehead. “I know and see it all.”

    “Why?”

“Z.” I remained quiet, I knew he was right there, but I couldn’t help but feel like I was with the wrong person. Man the Kale wasn’t my mate, it struck me that instant. I turned away from him, shifting far to the other side of the bed.

    “You are not my mate.”

    He gasped sardonically, “shocking.”

“Man the Kale, who then is my mate?” I cried.

“You will find out soon.” That wasn’t an answer, but I knew he wasn’t going to tell me. He came over to my side, pulled me back into his arms and comforted me. I closed my eyes, drifting off to another painful trance.

    ★★★ Kale’s standpoint ★★★

I watched Suzanne played with the children, chasing them with a scary mask on. Losing her memory left her in touch with her childish side, her really annoying childish side. I cared about the girl, but her childishness was sickening. Hopefully, she would regain her memory soon and decide to either return to Finn or the ocean.

“Alpha,” I looked to my left where Andre stood, “you have a call from King Finn, he said it’s urgent.”

    “Where?”

“The telephone in your office,” I nodded at him, it was about time Finn called. I stood up from the chair I was sitting and called out to Suzanne.

“Suzanne, I’m going inside, don’t do anything stupid!” She ignored me, she never answered whenever I called her with a name other than Floriana. “Okay, Florry, I’m going in and don’t do anything stupid!”

“I won’t!” She shouted back. I rolled my eyes and ran inside with my speed, the telephone was still ringing loudly. I got to my office and picked it up, expecting to hear a snappy voice, but surprisingly, he was coughing.

“I didn’t know vampires get tuberculosis,” I said jokingly.

“Very…fun…ny,” he coughed with each words, “how’s she?”

    “She’s hanging,”

He coughed violently again, his voice was hoarse and I could feel the difficulty he was using to speak. “Is she still…” He broke into another hacking cough. “In a coma?”

“No, she’s awake now, woke up earlier than expected.” What’s wrong with him?

Finn sighed with relief, “do you think you can convince her to return to me?”

“First, what is wrong with you? You haven’t made one sentence without having your glorious cough choir back you up, you can barely pronounce a word straight. Finn, what did Elfina say?”

“That I’m dying, I drank my mate’s purified blood which isn’t good for the demon so now the poisonous food I drank is determine to kill the demon with me along with it. Turns out Suzanne isn’t human, or maybe she is but something pure, like a priestess but I daresay you already know that. Apparently, I can’t force her to come, she has to come see me and heal me by will, not by force or cunning means. Kale, think you can help me convince her to come back? Does she hate me?”

“Well…” I drawled evasively, “the convincing her would be a big problem, a serious one.”

“Why? Kale if you want me to beg, I will. I know I deserve this for the pain I made her go through, but…”

“It’s not that, Suzanne lost her memory…” I left my words hanging, waiting for his reply. There was silence from the other end of the telephone for seconds before he sighed.

“Her memory must have shut down to avoid her recollecting the gruesome thing her mate did to her, I understand, I knew I won’t get out of this one easily.”

“It gets worse Finn,” I almost felt pity for the guy, almost.

“What can be more worse than my mate not remembering I exist!” The good thing was that the coughing stopped.

“She’s having replay on Floriana’s memories, she relives everything you did to her past self in her dreams and in trance. So in conclusion, she despise the guy that keeps making her green friend cry, even wish him death.”

Finn began to laugh, a awful hoarse burst of mirth, only it sounded more like a hacking cough and sorrowful cry. “Of course, thank you karma! I better get Casmir to prepare my tomb, don’t you think?”

“Look Finn, don’t give up hope, I’m sure there is another way…”

“I don’t think you understand the urgency of the situation here! If anything should happen to me, the vampire court would fall into chaos as many would rise for the throne! I don’t have an heir, I don’t have a queen, and I most certainly don’t have any living relative! The war will begin again, starting from the court before it spreads to the world.

My existence keep all rogue vampires in check, because they know I will always find them. I have the location of every single living vampire in my head, the moment they are born or turned, I know. I’m a freaking pureblood descendant of Ambrosio, among the first of his direct son and they all know that! If I should die, they would destroy everything I have suffered to build and kill my mate! Do you now understand the problem?”

“Yes, but the chaos would be done by Stephan, remember that one is still alive. I can’t help you Finn, but I know she will come back before the time runs out. I heard you were throwing a gala for the memorial of your mother, that’s in three days, right?”

“Right, but it would be my last because Stephan would be there. Elfina said he has enquired the help of demons in other to be as powerful as I am, don’t you see RIP on my forehead already?” He said bitterly.

“Honestly, you are making me sentimental here, we are not friends. If you die, you die, don’t bother me with your problems, I don’t care.” I huffed, we were acting like friends which we weren’t.

“You know you do, if the vampire colonel falls into chaos, the whole world would be pulled down along with them, including werewolves. And plus, you know you wouldn’t want anything to happen to your only friend and his mate.” He still had the energy to tease, funny.

“We are not friends, cut that out. If you die, I promise you that no harm would come to your mate, fair enough?”

“Thank you. But Kale, what is she?” I opened my mouth to reply but shut it back.

“She will tell you herself, good luck with the afterlife.”

“Bastard.” I slammed the phone down with a smile, he won’t die so easily, if the two goddesses meddling with their lives wanted him dead, he would have a long time ago.

Faith, he just has to have faith.

    Suzanne’s standpoint

The children were fun! They all loved me and kept pulling my hair, said it’s beautiful. I swayed my dress around as I skipped down the hallway, the hem of my dress was in my hands. I was happy again, very happy. It all ended when I was suddenly slammed to the wall, a vicious growl coming from the attacker. I looked into her eyes, I saw someone I have never seen before.

The tip of her permed ebony hair rested on her shoulders, her eyes were black and hollow with darkness, her two pointy fang challenging me. It was a vampire, I recognised her from Dainty’s memories as Lady Kaede. The vampiress wanted Dainty’s mate all to herself and repeatedly attacked her.

“I told you I would kill you,” she hissed, “kill yourself before I am force to give you a painful death!” She threatened. I looked at my green body, covered in bruises, teeth bites and blood, Lady Kaede had beaten the life out of Dainty.

“Kaede, what do you think you are doing!” My heart sank into my stomach, it was that man again.

Kaede stepped back and bowed to him, “just having a little chat with her My Lord, I’ll excuse myself now.” He let her go, he let the woman go after she beat up his mate. Instead, his anger was directed at the poor thing.

“This is why I hate you, you are weak and useless,” he spat venomously, “get out of my sight, you disgust me.” Then he left.

Dainty’s wishes to be better filled my head, it was sickening. The images faded away, I was actually been pinned by man the Kale’s choice mate, she was yelling hell into my face. I scoffed, did she think I was Dainty and would let myself get intimidated, she needs to think again.

Without wasting much time, I grabbed her two wrists and hurled her into the wall opposite us. Her body broke through it, pushing her out of the house. Kimberly crashed on the ground feets below, so lazy and weak. I walked to the hole in the wall and examined what I did with pride, the crash from her fall dug the ground a little.

“Luna, are you okay?” People started throwing questions as they hurried to her. An image of Dainty crying as she washed the blood off herself appeared in my head. This time it was more than the other trance, it felt like me.

Her pain reached the depths of my heart, her longing and wishes overwhelmed my mind. Why must she suffer so much! Her parents hated her, her people threw her away and the only person she could at least find comfort from, treated her like nothing but a worthless being. Even his actual pets lived in luxury, compared to what she lived in.

The tips of my fingers stretched out, bringing out the poisonous blades on each fingers, my deadly claws. I looked down as they tried to help Kim up, my vision covered with blood and the desperation to eliminate who hurt me. I jumped down from the fourth floor of the house, screeching at all of them to get out of my way or I kill them too. My mind was set on only one thing, eliminate the threat, destroy the woman struggling to stand.

Speeding past the others, I rushed to her front and swung my hand, slashing her across the chest. She screamed before jumping, shifting in mid air to her wolf. Her roar only ignite the fire in me, I attacked her with no cause, slashing and clawing at the big dog. I slammed my foot on her hind legs, breaking her bones and paralysing her. None could move, not when I froze them.

Kim’s wolf whimpered before she slowly shifted back, leaving her dirty bleeding bare back to stare at me. I saw red again when the image of Dainty’s blood taunted me. I hollered in anger and lift my hand to finish her, but two hands seized my wrists and hurled me against a tree. I groaned as the pain shot through me.

“What is wrong with you Suzanne!” Man the Kale yelled, when I looked up at him, he wasn’t him but that hideous mate harasser. Finn stood there yelling at me for defending myself against one of his whore. I could feel the stinging pain in my cheeks, it meant he hit Dainty there.

Fear, anger, worry, love, betrayal and disappointment, all came down on me with the force of a great typhoon. The series of emotions was overwhelming, squeezing the life out of me.

“Take her to the cell and keep her there!” The words reverberated in my head, yells filled my ears. The world was resting on my head, an elephant sat on it. My head was heavy, swelling with pain and blood. Voices after voices, after voices. Images after image flashed in my head, all her pain, everything she went through came to me in a rush.

I can’t take this anymore!… I heard her scream in my head. I saw the replay of what was happening, she was screaming as two vampires pulled her away.

“You are a monster Finn! A brutal beast!” She screamed at him. “I thought the day I was born was the most cursed day of my life, but now I know that meeting death would have been better than meeting you! I curse the day you were born! I curse the day your mother brought a cruel miserable bastard like you into this world! I curse the day I met you! I curse the forces compelling me to love you no matter what! I hate you ugly blood sucking creep! I hate you!”

His face was filled with surprise, it was the first time she talked back at him, let alone scream. Shock, guilt, hurt filled his face. I’m surprise he can feel something other than sick wickedness.

“You will die a miserable death! Your entire empire will crash on your head and love will never find your home you monster! Curse you Finn! Curse you!!!”

They successfully pulled her away. The image changed, I felt the urge to run so I ran, running as fast as my mermaid speed could carry me. I saw through her eyes, she was crying, heart racing.

Finn, please save me!… She screamed in her head. She ran all the way to a cliff, she stopped and looked down at the violent rapid below… I can’t swim! I can’t swim!

A scream left my mouth as I was suddenly grabbed and spun around. A hand came around my neck, three pointy weapons placed on my throat. My eyes widened with horror as I struggled, kicking the air for the person to let go. Finn ran in from the thick forest, he gasped as he saw me being held with three claws to my throat. It wasn’t me, I was in Dainty’s memory.

“You are right there Finn, I don’t have enough powers to kill you, but I do have enough to take your puny mate’s along with me. Let’s just say it’s a ‘farewell’ and ‘until we meet again’ parting gift…”

“Stephan, killing the girl won’t change a thing, I don’t care about her.” My heart shattered, he meant every word he said, his eyes were cold and void of every emotions. He could save me, I knew it, I knew he could.

“Really?” Even the man sounded surprise. “You really don’t have a heart boy, too bad for this unfortunate mate of yours.” My eyes grew wide in shock as he pushed me forward, not too far from him. He gave Finn a chance to save me, a chance to take me back.

Hope gladdened my heart, he could save me now. But he didn’t move, he stared at me with the same coldness, not caring a bit about the fear.

“Very well then, your choice.” And it was sealed.

I grabbed my neck as I felt pain, he snapped her neck off, he snapped MY neck. Hers was better, she died, but I was alive, only reliving the memory well as the pain. Water cut through my skin, he threw her body into the rapid, the cold was like a billion claws. I saw my life slipping away, I saw her spirit leaving.

“I forgive you Finn, for everything you have done to me, for everything the world has done, I forgive you all. I should have been better, if only I was good enough to withstand the darkness in your heart. I love you with every stem in me, I wish you could love me back. Even as my life slips away, I still feel grateful to the universe for finding me worthy of a mate like you, even if in your eyes I never suit you.

Universe, Flora, gods and goddesses, if you can hear me, grant my last wish and make me someone worth his love in my second life.”

She died, even as she died she still wished him well and removed all the cursed she placed on him. I sank down lower into water, staring at the sunlight reflecting on it. The heavens opened onto me, I saw the ocean pull her soul out and took it away in the form of a shell. The shell floated in the current, floating for over a century and decades. On a lunar eclipse, the ash of a demigoddess was thrown into the ocean by another, the ash floated down to the shell which rested on an ancient sea stone, stone of waves.

The ocean morphed the shell and ash together, using the magic of the stone to recreate a body, a small sea baby with scales but no tail. Watching the transformation was Amphitrite, a single drop of tear slipped from her eye and fell on the forehead of the baby, giving her life.

“My tears should never be use to give life, she is a part of me, my spirit and heart. Many would come after you for who has you has me, but I will protect you to the best of my abilities. Take the souls and powers of your other fallen sea maids, ones killed by Galatea. Take their powers as I crown you supreme maid of the seas and only daughter of the ocean.”

I watched as the baby was filled with powers, like a well being filled with rain. Then the ocean took the baby and dropped her on the bed of the queen, the queen who recently lost her baby, the mermaid I knew as mother. Everything unfolded in my eyes, how she adopted me but was banished by her husband for choosing the tailless blind baby over him. The baby grew, her eyes opened, she lived with her mother in isolation.

Everything was perfect until the acting king of the sea knew about the existence of a being like the baby, the small four years old who had just grown a tail. The images displayed in the sky connected to mine, the day some mermen attacked, killed mother and took me away. The day I ran away and Amphitrite sealed my powers to protect me.

It all made sense, it all came back to me with a dangerous force. How I met him again, the ship adventure, his forcing me to live with him but different from what he was to Florry. My sisters, my life, her emotions of love and forgiveness, it was all overwhelming. My body system automatically did what it did best, shut down. Tears escaped my eyes as one last memory lingered in the surface.

    Finn drank my blood.

    To be continued.

I hope you understand this chapter very well? If not, the simple explanation is this:

Everything Suzanne was feeling and experiencing were what Dainty felt. After she died, her body was thrown into the sea, the ocean took her soul in accordance to her last wish and kept it in the form of a shell, on the top of an ancient stone. Remember how I once mentioned that Artemis threw the ash of Kale’s sister into the ocean, that ash formed the body of Suzanne with the soul of Dainty. Then the supreme sea goddess accidentally gave her life through a single drop of tear instead of her breath.

In order to protect her more, he gave her the powers and extra souls of the sea maids I once mentioned Galatea (the mermaid that spoke to Proteus) killed and sent her to live with the only mermaid that would love her. Unfortunately, Proteus who was power greedy found out about her existence and went after her, killed the mermaid and took Suzanne. She was under captivity, until she grew old enough to marry him so he would have rights over her powers and the ocean itself. Suzanne however found a way to escape at seven, that was how she met Kassandra’s mother and came to live on land. Unknown to her that Amphitrite sealed her powers so it would be harder for Proteus or Galatea to find her.

Suzanne might be powerful, but she isn’t invincible yet.

Now Suzanne knows her history and that is why she is Queen Floriana because she insists on bearing that name and not Suzanne. The standpoint will remain named Suzanne to cancel further confusions. But you will often see her being called Floriana, (Florry) Suzanne for the next few chapters in others standpoint and her original birth and sea maid name Kymopoleia.

    Water Mate – Chapter 9

    Mystery Mate Series present

    Kassandra’s standpoint

My life would never get normal as long as Suzanne is around. The tall totally handsome but scary guy was talking to Claudia quite far away from us, it was like he was explaining to her only what she could conceal. Suzanne was arranging our bags, she wanted to act like she wasn’t excited about meeting the vampire again, but she was going to explode with joy. I could literally see her eyes glowing with enthusiasm.

“Okay,” I screamed and flinched, jumping back with fear as he suddenly said that and was standing right in front of me. “Let’s go, since I didn’t come with a ship, you are riding my wolf…” He scrunched his nose, his eyes zoning out like he was having a mental conversation. After almost four minutes, he sighed and grumbled out a “useless dog”.

“I thought we were going with a ship?”

“Ship?” He said sneeringly, “I don’t do ships.” He stepped back, his eyes strictly fixed on me.

“Why are you looking at her like that?” Suzanne asked with a laughing smile, “or is she your mate?” She snorted out a laugh after she said that.

“Tch,” he scoffed, “she wish. You better look away, you might collapse if you see me shift.”

“I can handle it,” I said confidently, I wasn’t going to let a gorgeous man see me as a wimp.

“Humph, your funeral.” he shrugged as he took off his robe. He folded it neatly and handed the stainless white cloth to Claudia. He took off his shirt, unbuckled his belt and gave them to Claudia too.

Suzanne covered my eyes. “The next scene is rated sixteen, parental guidance is advised.”

“Hey! I’m older than you are! Stop blocking,” I removed her hands to see him shoving his shirt, robe, shoes and belt into a small golden side zipper bag. Then it happened. A growl emanated from his chest before his true nature manifested.

I watched aghast as the sound of bones popping and shifting filled my ears, the covering of furs and the huge head. He transformed very very slowly, as if he intentionally did it to get to me. In less than 30 seconds, a huge, as in gigantic wolf stood in front of me. I felt my knees buckled up as fear enveloped me. He turned his eyes to look at me, his big hunter green and amethyst eyes. It was like a green sea with little amethyst fishes swimming around in a circle.

I felt my eyes rolled into the back of my head when he groaned a little. Suzanne caught me, forcing me back to consciousness. My mouth open, my vocal acting as if the switch had been turned on. I screamed in fright, almost climbing Suzanne’s head. Like literally, I climbed onto her back and found myself on her shoulders.

    “Get off me!”

“It’s going to eat me! I don’t want to die!”

“Get off… Whoa!” We both fell backwards, would have hurt my head if not for the soft sand. I crawled away from her and tried to run for my life. Claudia held me back, holding my hands. “He’s going to eat me!”

“Will you calm down!” Claudia shouted. I can swear he laughed. “Now get on or I’ll break your legs, fold you like a cloth and slap you down on his back!” She roared into my face. My blood went cold, my heart temporarily stopped beating. I always cry when Claudia yell at me like that, it’s scarier than any werewolf.

I burst into tears, okay, I’m a baby, deal with it. “Please stop crying, you are irritating Alpha Kale.” Suzanne huffed.

“Yeah, I’m not doing this,” I suddenly felt weak and soon all I saw was darkness.

    ★★★ Kale’s standpoint ★★★

Killian was extremely angry, he hated anyone riding him but we had no choice. The one person neither of us could stand was the crying one. If that one was Finn’s mate, she is as good as dead. It was a good thing the mermaid was the mate, not the baby. Talking about the mermaid, she was enjoying this way too much.

“Whoo hoo!!!” She shrieked at the top of her voice, her hands in the air. I jumped through a portal to Finn’s land, surprising them but I didn’t care. I wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. “This is so much fun!”

    “Stop screaming Suz!”

    “But I’m joyful!”

    Kale!

Stop shouting, we are almost there.

“Hey,” I drifted to an abrupt stop when she popped her head in my face. The sudden force catapulted her far away, slamming her against a huge rock. It made her look like a fly squashed to a wall.

“Suz, are you okay?” Her sister asked anxiously. Suzanne fell on the ground in a heap.

Why would she do that? Isn’t she afraid?

Killian, I don’t think she has the brain to comprehend what is going on, she’s high.

“That…was… awesome!” She exclaimed. “Do it again! Do it again!”

    Yep, definitely no brains.

“Suzanne, are you alright? Did that hit affect your brain?” Her sister asked I confusion. The mermaid sprouted up to her feet, shrieking and clapping her hands.

“Ooh! I’m just so excited!” She ran back to me and jumped on our back. “Onward big brother!”

    Big what?

“Hello,” she popped her head back in my face, “it’s me again. Will you be my big brother even if you are a wolf?” I bounced her back into position and continued running. She kept laughing, her head must be definitely hurt or the jump through my portal was making her giddy.

I flashed through the noble town, heading straight to the castle. The castle gate raised high, almost seventeen feet high. I leapt pass the gate, flying over to the other side of it. The ground cracked from the force in which I landed, the same force threw her sisters off me. Only the mermaid remained, laughing like a drunk kid. The vampires stood in alert, I snarled at them, causing them to step back.

“My stomach is never going to remain the same,” the eldest sister said queasily and threw up the content of her stomach on the ground.

Get off me… Killian growled. He threw the girl off and shook his fur to smoothen it.

“Meow,” she meowed and laughed. I shifted back, rushing to the bag and putting on my new pants and shirt before all my fur disappeared. Finn appeared before me with the wind, he ignored me and went to the girl.

    “Dainty, you came…”

“I’m a unicorn! Neigh!” Finn looked at me puzzledly.

“Disoriented from the run, get her water to drink and pour some on her head,”

“Don’t worry,” Finn said, stopping the vampire from moving. He stretched his hand towards the fountain in the middle of the compound. The water rose up and floated to him in small balls.

Finn had the power to control the four elements, including other bridges as well. One of the reason he is almost undefeatable. The girl drank the water greedily, if there was more, she would have drank it all.

“Suzanne, do you feel better now?” Suzanne jumped away from him, hurrying to me with a speed I didn’t expect her to have. The smart girl hid behind me, I like cunning girls.

“I didn’t agree to come here so you would touch me, don’t touch me,” she clutched the back of my shirt tightly.

“Kale, let go of my mate,” Finn commanded.

I chuckled and raised my brows. “am I holding her?” I raised my hands, I wasn’t holding her.

“Suzanne, come here,” she wrapped her hands around my waist to ignite his jealousy. “Suzanne, let go of him!” She blew raspberry at him.

“Okay, let’s go,” I walked forward, she kept holding me as we walked forward. Fin glared at me murderously, I sent him a wink. He can’t do anything but be a good boy.

That warrior of his carried the one that collapsed, along with their bags, while the eldest staggered behind us.

“Psst,” Suzanne whispered, “am I proving stubborn enough?”

“Add more flair but don’t involve me too much.” I whispered back.

“Like yell at him and call him a monster?”

“No, too far… Or yes, do whatever you know you do best.”

“I’m holding you because my body keeps forcing me to go to him, what if I can’t handle it? I’m scared.” She whimpered.

I wasn’t expecting her to get so clingy, but knowing that this body was once my sister’s made me a little bit comfortable. She was the one person who would hug me very tight and refuse to let go, even when I yelled and hurt her hands. As long as it made me angry, she loved it.

“If your body keeps forcing you, find a way to get close to him stylishly and hold on for a few seconds, then back off by remembering something terrible about him.”

“Something terrible like what? Thinking about the fact that he only wants me because I look like his dead mate.” She said seethingly, her grip on my waist tightened.

“Suzanne, you are his dead mate, a reincarnation,”

“But I don’t want to be,” she whined. I glanced at Finn, his face was literally red with visible smoke puffing out of his ears. I could see that the rest had stayed back because of his looks, they were terrified he would explode and strike them, he can’t strike me.

“You just have to show him that you are your own girl. Dainty is Floriana, but you are Suzanne. Can you do that? Can you tolerate him?” I asked loud enough for him to hear the last part.

“I can manage him,” the bone in Finn’s palm cracked from how hard he was clenching them. The red had extended to his neck and hands, steam now puffing out of his nose. “But I’ll miss you though.” She added, oblivion to what I was playing at.

She rest her head on my back and sighed exhaustedly, “I’m tired, I can’t walk anymore.”

    “I’ll carry you…”

“I have hands, I can carry my own mate!”

“Back off bat,” she warned lazily. I carried her on my back and ran her to the throne room.

“This is where I stop sea queen,”

“Do you have to leave? Why can’t I stay with you? You are nicer…”

“To you, which is surprising. Get down…” I dropped her roughly and turned around. “I have been away from my pack for too long, need to go now.”

    “Will you come visit?”

“He won’t,” Finn said angrily, “and you are going nowhere either.”

“Shut up grandpa.” She said dismissively.

“That’s it! Dawn!!!” He roared. I swallowed my laugh, it was so funny with the way he was looking. I rarely get amuse, but this couple were doing the trick.

A lady ran in and bowed. “Your majesty,” she greeted with fear, like trembling with fear.

“Get her to the room prepared for her and lock her in! No one is to let her out until I say so!”

“And who are you to tell me that?!” She shouted too, jumping to her feet. “You can’t lock me up like that, I’m your mate, not your pet…”

“Then you better treat me with respect!”

“Respect is reciprocal you dumb bag! I will only respect you when you prove to me that you are worth it!”

“Don’t you dare talk to me that way!” Finn roared into her face, they were just few inches apart. “I am King Finn, just because I condescend to searching for you doesn’t mean you can let it get into your head…” He poked her forehead. “You are nothing but my unfortunate weak human mate and will remain in your place!!!”

I expected her to keep her mouth shut after what he roared because he was at the edge of snapping. “Mien mien d’oh d’oh, you big bottom feeder! This same weak human is who you had to beg someone to find, why? Because you are not man enough to find me yourself… Or wait, I mean strong enough. All you know how to do is shout, shout, shout and boss people around. Don’t you know how to do anything better?!”

    “I can kill you, that’s a start!”

“Then…go…ahead…I…dare…you,” she slammed her hands on his chest at each words. He looked her in the eyes, his eyes as black as charcoal.

    This is entertaining.

“You are lucky I need you alive,”

“And you are lucky no one can grant my wish, because trust me, you wouldn’t wanna know how I want you to die,” Finn winced at her words. “does that hurt? Well let that sink into your dead skull,” she smacked his head. “I am not your ex-mate who couldn’t look you in the eyes, I am not Floriana and will never be her. Don’t test me, if you think you are a king, then you should know I am a queen and I deserve some respect as well.”

    “Why y… Oh God!”

Yeesh! She kneed him very hard.

“Told you not to dare me, I won’t take nonsense,” she threw her head away with pride and walked to the lady whose mouth had fallen open. “I’m ready to go to my room now, lock me in and swallow the key so he won’t get to me.”

    “Y…y…yes milady.” She stammered.

“See you in the future big brother, kisses.” She blew me a kiss, giggled and skipped away. The lady followed her, shutting the doors behind her.

Finn remained on the floor where he had fallen on his knees, his hands placed on the cold floor and face down. He was still in absolute shock. That kick went straight to his heart, a side rejection from his mate.

“Kale, did she just knee me?”

    “Yes, she did.”

    “Oh.” He said dazedly.

“So, I’m going to laugh now,” I coughed and broke into a peal of laughter. I fell on my knees, holding my stomach. It felt so good to laugh.

“Shut up, I told you to get her, not steal her h…” I laughed harder, rolling on the floor to annoy him more. “It’s not funny Kale, cut it out!”

    “Your mate kneed you, ha!”

“Stop it!” I rolled and laid on my stomach, beaming at him.

“Guess you got the bold one you asked for,”

    “She is rude!”

“She is perfect. Just try not to kill her because she has big mouth, I’m still waiting for that call, the one telling me she ran away or you killed her.”

“What makes you think I’ll call you? We are not friends.”

“Yeah, we aren’t, but I promised to keep her alive. If she dies Finn, I’ll kill you myself, and I’m not bluffing.” I threatened seriously.

    “For my own mate?”

I shrugged and stood up. “happy married life, and thanks for the laugh, it was fun while it lasted. Now I have to return to my miserable world, no more smiles for me. Good luck Finn, and remember that this girl is different from Florry, seize calling or comparing her to her or she will never love you.”

“What do you know about love,” he scoffed.

“Ever heard of the saying an elder knows better? Even if they haven’t experienced it?”

“Kale, I’m more than three hundred years older than you, what elder?”

“The last shall be the first, don’t disobey me and follow my advice. See ya.” I zoomed off, running back to my packs direction.

I ran in my human form, wondering if my mate and I would ever be like that. I didn’t want mother to choose a mate for me, but if she did, she would adore me. Who wouldn’t want a powerful alpha like me as a mate? Mother can’t do anything. Even if I did have a mate, we would never be like them.

    Water Mate – Chapter 5

    Mystery Mate Series present

    By Authoress Kemmy B. Gabriel

    Suzanne’s standpoint

We are near, I could hear the melody of the sirens calling out to me, begging me to join them. I wasn’t a siren, but one of my main source of power was music. I was part water muse and others. I stood at the crow’snest, looking out for any obstacle. The lookout ran below deck to do something so I was covering for him. I looked down, Finn stood at the bowsprit. As if feeling the intensity of my gaze, he turned around and locked eyes with mine.

The world seemed to have stopped moving the moment our eyes made contact, the wind around me became colder but yet so comfortable. The clash of the waves echoed around me, every other object was out of sight, just him. The wind became more intense, blowing my hair allover, messing it up. I don’t know how long we were staring, but we snapped out of it when the captain yelled something about slowing the ship down.

He managed a small smile before winking at me, causing my stomach to stir and heartbeat quicken. I stuck out my tongue to him, I was wearing my facemask this time. Finn rolled his eyes away, a glint of amusement shining in them. Like literally, his eyes glinted before he looked away.

“Slow her down!” The captain shouted again. I jumped onto the edge of the crow’snest and leapt into the air, catching myself with a rope. I swung my body with a laugh, I was about to do something stupid.

“Hey pretty man!” I shouted laughingly, “catch!” I swung myself towards him and let go, spreading my hands out to form wings. My hair danced to the music of the cold wind, I shut my eyes to enjoy the moment.

Right before I decended too low, I twist my body so my back would be against the deck. Two hands touched me, it happened very fast but I know what I felt. I landed on the deck in a heavy brutal crash. Not enough to kill me, but certainly enough to paralyse me if I was human. It would have been worse, but I’m certain Finn caught me fast and then dropped me hard to lighten my fall and still make it look like he didn’t care.

That would have been very sweet but… Ow!

“You dummy,” I moaned out in pain, “why didn’t you catch me,”

He laughed shortly before crouching down, “next time, use your head.” He poked my head with his index finger. With lightning fast move, I jumped up and caught his finger between my teeth. Before he could remove it, I bit him.

“Ew!” I cried, flying away from him, he tasted like vinegar. I coughed and gasped for breath, “I’m dead,”

“Stop being dramatic, I’m wearing a glove so what you tasted is the chemical,” I looked at his hand, he indeed was.

I threw my head aside snootily and folded my arms, “I knew that, who asked you.”

“Foolish girl,” he heaved and smacked my head. I whimpered like a baby and pouted, he wants me dead. “Stand up, we are here.” I had gotten up to my knees before, he delicately lifted me up so I would stand.

“Oh la la!” I shrieked with pain, my spine hurt from falling.

    “What?”

“I can’t move…aah!” Heartless good for nothing jerk pulled me along, not caring about my pain. We joined the captain at the wheel, he generously flung me on the floor again.

    “Well thank you maniac!”

“I suggest the crew get tied up so they won’t go to the sirens…”

“That would only work against the sirens of Siren Bay East and West, Sirens Heart’s are stronger and will go to them, kiss and suck the soul out of them. So you see? It’s a waste of time.” I rasped, rubbing my back.

“So what do we do? We can’t proceed further until we have a plan,” Sandra said reasonably. Claudia who had been stroking her chin snapped her fingers.

“How about we tie the men below deck? We block their eyes and ears and the windows, that way, we won’t have to bother.”

“That’s a great idea sis, captain?” I asked, looking at him for approval. He nodded with a wide smile.

“Clever wenches, that’s what ye are…”

“Er…thanks? I guess.” Claudia said with uncertainty.

“Okay boys, ye all hear the pretty ladies…” Finn snorted at Captain Leadbeard’s compliment. “Get down deck and let them tie ye up, us up.”

    “I’m not getting tied up,”

“Of course not, we need to sacrifice a fool to the sea anyways…”

“Why you…” He hissed, but Claudia blocked him from attacking me and exposing himself.

“Chill, all men down.” She commanded. I blew raspberry at him.

“And stop acting so immature sis, that’s my job,” Sandra said with a big frown.

Finn scoffed and walked to the other end of the poop deck, leaned on the railing and folded his arms in annoyance. “Behave,” Claudia warned, kissed my cheek and walked off to tie the men.

“Hey Finn!” I shouted, he looked at me from the corner of his eyes, “die!”

“Ocean!!!” Claudia shouted from below deck. I giggled and forced my healing body up.

“Okay dude, I’m in charge now so follow my command, kapish?” I demanded with arms akimbo. And he totally ignored me. “Rude,” I said in a singsong.

“I’ll drive, make yourself useful.” He sighed, tired of my childishness. He pushed himself off the rail and sauntered to the wheel.

“Yeah, one of us have to be useful here,” I murmured audibly. He snarled but didn’t say a word. I decided it was time to be serious, I walked over to the railing at my side and looked down at the crystal clear sea that was littered with shipwreck. Pieces of woods and broken ships filled the sea.

The ship suddenly jerked, throwing me and slamming my chest on the railing. I groaned in pain, he did that on purpose. I looked at him over my shoulder and rolled my eyes back to the ship. Something glinted on the crow’snest of a broken ship resting behind a rock. I peered into the horizon, the more I peered, the brighter the object became. The blue light’s glow was familiar, I knew that. It called out to me, it knew me cause my presence luminated it.

“My amulet,” I gasped, it was the amulet I was born with. The amulet controlled my transformation. With it, I didn’t need to fear when I get wet. My scales won’t appear, I won’t have to be afraid to swim in front of everyone. Other than that, it had the power to shield me from spells and morph me into any form I want.

“Finn, keep driving, the sirens will rise soon so be careful. I’ll catch up with you later.”

“Where are you…” Before he could finish his statement, I hitched myself up and heaved myself over the railing, throwing myself down the ship. I grabbed one of the net and threw myself down again. I landed on a wood slab.

I wasn’t going to swim, I jumped. I jumped from wood slab to the other gracefully, like a skipping rock and a flying fish. My feet barely touched the slabs before I flew off to the next one. I jumped into the floorboard of the ship, wincing at the creaky sound it made due to my weight. I looked back at Finn, my eyes widened in horror. He was surrendered by sirens singing to him and was falling. I had been so caught up in my objective that I didn’t hear their song or remember him.

Glowing blue liquid skin with water hair, four webbed fingers with claws the length of a wolverine’s and yet the beauty of a regular mermaid to men. Sirens were ugly, don’t be fooled. One of the most dangerous nymphs of Achelous. Sirens came in different forms, most with water body, legs or shark finned tails. That was the difference in our appearance. Mermaids didn’t have water body and don’t always kill humans, we don’t even have their time. Mermaids seems to admire land folks and show off their beauties, only celestial mermaids like myself had water form.

Anyways, they had successfully lured the ungrateful man out of the poop deck. And he can boast like he is invincible. I rolled my eyes and continued flying across the floorboard to the crow’snest, avoiding touching the water. I didn’t want to help him, but I had to help him, I couldn’t just stay there and watch them…

A gasp left my mouth at a sudden explosion of light from the ship, I jerked my head to it. Finn had burst up with some kind of red energy, like flame but not flame. The explosion sent all sirens flying to different directions, most died at impact. I smirked and nodded, now I know why he boast. “Respect,”

I turned my attention back to the amulet, my precious item. Grabbing the rope, I began climbing up to get it. I never knew climbing could be so easy when you want something badly. I hoisted myself into the nest, scrambled over until I picked the amulet. The glow died down, back in it rightful place.

    “Welcome home,” I sighed dreamily.

“Ocean! Ocean look out!!!” Finn shouted. I tilted my head and stared at him, the horror in his eyes. I turned around to see what he was gawking at. The rock had risen high like a tower behind me and down it came.

The sirens remaining laughed in their songs as they controlled the water to lift the rock. I leapt into the air, diving into the water to avoid being crushed. I swam fast away from the rock and the collapsing ship, instinctively putting my amulet on to hide my scales. Nine sirens swam around me, singing as they tittered.

I puffed out air and scowled at them. They replied me with a slash of their claws, slashing at my arms, back, chest and legs. “Begone!” I shouted, sending them flying far away. I lifted my hand to tear them to pieces but saw someone plunge into the water from the ship.

    Finn.

I shut my eyes immediately and let myself sink like I couldn’t handle it. Those sirens had luck… or maybe they didn’t. They charged for me again, hissing in anger and murderous eyes glowing. I peeped from the corner of my eyes, the amulet glowed to activate it protective power. Just as one raised her hand, she burst into bubbles and dust. A wave of electric red energy swept through, slashing their heads and bodies off.

    Awwn, my hero.

He carried me and swam up above, holding my waist tight. Finn jumped out of the water, one single leap lifted him back to the poop deck. He dropped me on the floorboard and knelt down.

This is the part where we kiss! Oh my oh my!

I screamed in pain as the harsh and painful slap met my cheek, he slapped me! Finn slapped me! I jolted up and screamed:”Are you mad!”

“There, still alive,” he pushed me back down so roughly my head hit the floor. I had a terrible headache while trying to seal my blood in at the same time. My brain thumped, the vision of my eyes blurring in accordance. Difficult breath left my mouth, a call to give in to the sleep so my body would heal without setting off my enchantment. I exhaled and gave in.

    Finn’s standpoint .

Annoying, I have never met anyone as annoying as this woman. She wasn’t any bit scared of me when others were, even her sisters and everyone else in the ship were, because while her sisters knew I was an unpredictable vampire, the pirates thought I was some kind of undefeatable warrior. Which I am. This girl, oh this insufferable, suffocating, bad-mouthed witch wasn’t any bit scared and was trying hard to get on my nerves.

“Okay dude, I’m in charge now so follow my command, kapish?” She demanded with arms akimbo.

Just ignore her and she would go away.

“Rude,” she said in a singsong, her own way of telling me she had a good singing voice.

How do you get rid of a stubborn cockroach?

“I’ll drive, make yourself useful.” I sighed, too tired to reply her. Or even if I did, her bad-mouth would make me kill her, I still needed her alive for now. I pushed myself off the railing and sauntered to the wheels.

    Heavens, seal her mou…

“Yeah, one of us have to be useful here,” a snarl vibrated through my chest and throat. It wasn’t of any use though. Heavens did it! She turned and headed for the east railing. I spun the ship harshly so she would be thrown overboard and I can abandon her for just ten minutes. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned.

I focused on getting the ship out of danger, scanning around for any sign of sirens. A blue light began glowing from a wrecked ship, I suppose the call of the sirens or something. Ocean muttered something in a gasp, staring wide eyes at the glowing object.

“Finn, keep driving, the sirens will rise soon so be careful. I’ll catch up with you later.”

“Where are you…”I glanced at her, she already threw herself off the ship.

    Ah, women.

“What is she up to this time,” I mused. I watched her jump from wood slab to wood slab, like a gazelle. When she jumped, it almost looked like she was soaring through the sky, just like Dainty. She reminded me so much of her in a strange way.

My ears began to tingle, my eyes were blurring out. I rubbed my forearm against my eyes and reopened them. I was in another ship, surrounded by nothing but the crystal clear sea, no wrecked ships in sight. Music floated in the air, melodies made my body moved. I looked down at the deck, my eyes widened as I was met with Dainty, stressing out her hands to me.

“It’s not possible, she’s dead,” I muttered. My mind urged me to remember something, it was trying to force a valuable information to my notice. I left the wheel and walked to her, was it real? It couldn’t be.

    Wait a minute!

It all came back to me, sirens. I closed my eyes and reopened them, I was back in reality and surrounded by sirens dragging me to the edge of the ship. “Ladies, do you want to make a fool out of me?” I chuckled, glancing at Ocean. If she should have to save me, I would never hear the end of it. They continued singing, whirling themselves around me. Gathering my energy into my hand, I whipped them off me, destroying them with one single attack.

I quickly looked at the annoying girl to see her smirking, a respectful smirk. Maybe that would get her to shut her mouth. She turned her attention back to her objective. She wanted that object and I wasn’t going to ask why, she was a weird one.

The spiky rock sticking out of the sea behind her was rising, ascending up with the rising sea. Images flashed in my head, the look in her eyes before she was killed.

“Ocean! Ocean look out!!!” I found myself shouting. I panicked inwardly, I normally wouldn’t care but seeing that she was about to die set me off. She briefly looked behind her in confusion, jolted her head to the laughing sirens before diving into the air, cleverly diving for the water below.

More images flashed in my head, the horror in her eyes, the shock… I should have saved her.

You killed her Finn, you killed her!

I should have never let you come close to her, you’re a monster!

This is all your fault! You killed my sister!

I clutched my head in pain, I didn’t want to remember, I didn’t want to remember the pain in mother’s eyes. I don’t ever want to remember the hate, the bitterness. Not a second time, I won’t let you die Ocean!

I jumped into the water, I had to save her all the horrible memories would return. The human girl is indeed a witch sent to torment me, I was being compelled to save her. She was sinking to the bottom of the sea, she was hurt by the sirens. I used the same attack on the sirens again, this time, minimising it to orbs so Ocean won’t get hurt. I threw the orb at the siren closer to her and then repeated the same wave as I did in the ship. As the king and direct descendant of the old ones, I had many owners for different occasions.

The compelling force had dwindled away, leaving me with irritation. I leapt out of the water and dropped her on the floorboard gently. Her heartbeat was normal, but she surprisingly wasn’t bleeding. I smacked her cheek to wake her up, forgot she was human and a slap wasn’t good. It did the trick though, she awakened with a ear piercing scream. She sat up with flushed face.

    “Are you mad!”

“There, still alive,” I gave her head a light push, she crashed on the floor roughly.

See why I hate humans? They are pitiful.

I stood up with a roll of my eyes, her sisters would come attend to her. I walked over to the wheel to steer the ship out of Sirens Heart. Her heartbeat slowed down, she still hasn’t moved.

“Hey, human girl, are you dead?” No answer, she remained quiet.

“Suzanne!” Her eldest sister shouted in panic as she ran towards us. She came out just in time to take care of her dramatic sister. She knelt beside the human girl and felt her pulse. “What happened to her?!”

    “Sirens, is she dead?”

“Finn!” She exclaimed quizzically. “You could have at least showed a small amount of human feelings! She’s badly hurt!”

“I’m a vampire, not human.” I replied bluntly. She scoffed and grumbled.

“We are out of threat, please help me carry her to our cabin, please?” The captain came up deck with some of the crew members. I left the wheel and walked over to help carry the bag of sand.

Immediately I scooped her into my arms, she snuggled closer and sighed with contentment. My eyes softened, she belonged in my arms, strange, but true. How, was what I needed answers to.

    Finn’s standpoint

I walked around the room I was giving, studying the book in my hands. I had been waiting for years to get a clue and I finally found it. I was convinced that fate wanted me to find the gems, if not, why lead me to the exact person that knew how to get there? Speaking of which, that girl is really odd. I was starting to wonder what my connection with her is all about. Something was missing somewhere and I was going to find out soon enough.

A loud shocked scream made me snap my head to the door, she was falling into my room. I ran to her and caught her before she hit the ground, unintentionally did that. Her face fell on my chest, my hands around her torso. A sudden urge to keep her there and never let go overwhelmed me. It felt like she belonged in my arms, she was safer with me. Heavy breath left my mouth, breath obviously from shock. She held me tighter than I think even she realises, she was sniffing me but I am sure she wasn’t aware.

My lips were only few inches away from her hair, it rich but rather strange scent seduced my nostrils. She smelt very lovely, even if I had never inhaled such a scent before. I shook my head to snap out of it, I was losing it for some human, that is unacceptable.

“Are you alright?” I forced myself to ask. It seemed like neither of us was ready to let go. She was attracted to me because of my kind, mine was something else. Perhaps lust.

“Yeah, thank you,” she whispered huskily, her cold breath hitting my chest and making the hair at the back of my neck and arm bristle up. I could hear her heartbeat drumming at an unusual pace, just like mine was starting to accelerate, the fast pump of blood gushing through the channels of her veins.

My fangs extended as each flow arouse my hunger, igniting a desire to bite her. “What were you doing there in the first place?” It was a simple question, an obvious one. She was walking by and happened to see me through the partly opened door. But I had to get her away from me before I did something that would ruin everything.

“Are you going to answer that and get off me?”

“Please, it’s so comfortable in here,” a loud gasp left her mouth after she said that, a realisation that sent her jumping away from me. Her face was a thick shade of pink, she avoided my eyes and face entirely.

I scoffed and folded my arms, a knowing smirk playing on my lips. Maybe what I needed was just to get her laid and I would forget about her. But doing that was jeopardising the entire mission. But her sisters were there, they could handle it if she is out of the way. She made her ogling too obvious, mouth parted slightly like she was going to drool. I’d never really cared if any woman admired me, but for some reason, I felt hyped up that she liked what she saw.

“Ahem,” I coughed jestingly, it was time to put her out of her misery.

“I…I…er…I was…was…” she stammered, her hands were trembling so much. The poor thing was both confuse and mesmerised. She finally gathered her wit and glanced at my face to see my coy smile. It was amusing watching her battle herself for something so simple. “Stay away from me you pervert!” She shouted suddenly and took off.

Really? That’s the best you can do?

I chuckled, she was a child, a growing child.

Few hours after that unusual meeting, she insisted we gather at the poop deck so she could explain what was to come. I watched as she fidgeted, torturing herself by putting enough space between us, like I cared about what was going on with her.

“The Sea of Fallen Kings is dangerous but if you do what I say, none would be lost. The reason men always die there is because the sea creates illusion. It connects to your soul and mind and brings out your deepest and darkest secrets, fear, desires and problems. Using those, it get the people to kill each other or drain their life force when they let themselves be seduced by their desires. The point is, to get over the sea, each and everyone of you would bind your eyes, you can’t fall for what you can’t see.”

“But if we bind our eyes, how then would the captain steer the ship? We’d be fools driving into danger, sitting ducks.” The first mate protested openly.

“I will,” she replied with clear uncertainty.

“Can you steer the ship?” The loud one asked gigglingly.

“Well no, but it wouldn’t be that hard to steer it as long as I go through at a slow pace, right captain?” She asked, looking at the captain for answer.

“How about I drive?” I asked with an eye roll.

“You can fall for the illusion, how about that?” She looked away the moment she said that, remembering what happened few hours ago.

“Ocean, what am I?” I asked cryptically.

“That doesn’t stop it from affecting you, you are a man after all,” Claudia said with a shrug.

“A perverted one for that matter,” Ocean muttered, but I heard it. I decided to ignore her.

“I’ll drive, the rest of you would cover your eyes and no objections.” I said firmly.

“Humph, your funeral,” Claudia said indifferently. Ocean scurried off immediately, bending her head down to hide her already masked face. I pushed myself off the railing and walked after her, my feet moved on their own.

She walked to her room, muttering incoherent words to herself. I ran forward and blocked the door to her room, causing her to shriek with fright. “Darn it! Not you again!”

“I’ll advice you to stop making a fool out of yourself, I don’t care about what you are thinking…”

She scoffed and folded her arms. “And what exactly do you think I’m thinking Mr. Vampire? What is running through this girl’s head?”

That was something I couldn’t detect.

“You don’t know, and you can never know.”

“That is a completely different topic from what I’m talking about…”

“What do you even want with the gems, I can’t help you if you don’t tell me.”

“I pay you to do my work, what I want with it is none of your business.”

“Giving it to someone who would misuse it powers is against everything I stand for,” daring, she was daring me.

    Suzanne’s standpoint

“I repeat, it’s none of your business,” he snarled, his eyes had turned red.

“It is and aah…” My back was slammed on the wooden wall in a flash, I groaned as the sharp pain from my back shot through me. He hissed into my face, bearing his fang at me. I know I should have been terrified that a vampire was hissing in anger, but he looked more adorable than scary.

“I am tolerating travelling on this common ship with a bunch of sticky dirty pirates and low life scums, ignoring every disrespectful words thrown my way. What I won’t tolerate is the likes of a human girl challenging me or trying to tell me what to do. I have waited for this day for more than a hundred years, some girl won’t hinder it.”

I watched the every movement of his ruby red lips, the way his tongue swept over his teeth and sent the words flowing like a musical note. His face was so close to mine I could feel every little breath from his mouth fan my face, his fresh lemon breath. My hands twitched to cup his face and kiss him, to have my lips pressed against his possibly honey coated heaven. It was insane! I WAS insane!

“…you got that?” I wasn’t going to let myself stare and embarrass myself again, no way. So instead of letting out that dreamy sigh itching my throat for freedom, or succumbing to the urge to kiss him, I growled animalistically and pushed him hard on the chest – not that it made any difference – to get him away from me.

“Don’t you dare snarl on my face you blood sucking devil,” I warned harshly, “I am not afraid of you and certainly won’t have a being like you use me to destroy others. If my helping you would endanger the world, why then should I help you? You can’t kill me, you do that and you die before you get to the temple, so you definitely need my help. Now I’m going to repeat it again, what do you want with the gems?”

My heart hammered against my chest violently, I was waiting for his attack, his hurtful words or anything. Funnily enough, he only smiled sadly, a distant look in his eyes that were clouded with pain. Finn stepped away from me and looked at his side, that far away look still in his eyes.

“You sound like her,” he said sadly.

    “Huh?”

“I need the gems to resurrect my sister, that’s why.”

“Oh,” I breathe, “how did she die?” His head snapped to me, his dark murderous glare had return. “What? Too personal?”

“Let’s play it this way, I don’t try to get in on your personal space and you don’t get into mine. Don’t get on my bad side kid, you might think you know me but trust me when I say you have no idea who I really am. Don’t make me jump back to my element, you won’t like it.” The wind whooshed, blowing into my face as he sped off.

His warning was clear, but I wasn’t going to listen.

“Well sink me! We’ve arrived at the sea of doom!” Captain Leadbeard shouted. “All eyes closed!” The men began tearing off their clothes to tie their eyes and some even blocked their ears.

“Are you sure you don’t want to tie your eyes?” Sandra asked with concern.

“Positive, the dark magic of the sea doesn’t affect me, I know it tricks.”

“And that one?” Claudia asked, jerking her head towards Finn who was taking over the wheel.

“Just leave him,” I sighed, I finally tied the knot well. I pat their shoulders and walked over to the pool deck to join the scallywag. “Ye know, if ye gets hypnotised, I’ll have to whack ye with a plank,” I said jokingly. He rolled his eyes.

“Don’t be a grouch laddy, I swear on my tail that I would watch over ye lacking butt so… Whoa!” I exclaimed. Finn suddenly turned the wheel harshly, sending the crew flying sideway. It was a good thing I was close to him, I held his bicep to stop me from flying too. “You did that on purpose,” I pouted. Damn! He couldn’t see my mouth.

“Stop talking and let me drive!” He shouted angrily. I let go of his bicep and turned my head away, rude man.

The sea was quite dark, the dark blue showed how much dark magic it consumed. I knew that if my feet touched the water, he would find me instantly, his presence was here. Fear began to sip in, my heartbeat accelerated at the thought of him finding me. I instinctively dropped my hood down further, even though my mask was already doing a good job of covering my face. I bent my head down, I was starting to panic for no reason.

The quietness of the sea was so thick a pin dropped into the water would make a loud echo. I roamed my eyes around, dark energy had covered the ship in the form of a black mist. I looked at Finn, his hands were quivering as he looked ahead, he was seeing something. And he was boasting, I scoffed and walked closer to him. I placed my left palm over his eyes to shut it out.

“It isn’t real, it is all an illusion,” I spoke into his ear softly.

“I’m aware, but what I’m seeing is worth seeing. I won’t go to it, but seeing her is worth it.”

“Your sister?” He nodded and sighed heavily. “Should I take off my hand?”

“No, I don’t think I want to see her anymore. Just tell me where to steer the ship to.” He instructed. Who knew a vampire could be so sad.

“Aye aye captain!” I shouted playfully. I placed my other hand on the wheel and assisted him in steering the ship. After a few minutes of slow and steady driving, we were out of the dangerous sea. “That should do it!”

“Now, get your filthy hand off my eyes,”

“Wait, seriously?” I asked incredulously. He yanked my hand off and pushed me away, like I was a disease. The insult was stronger than any I had ever faced.

“Right,” I hissed, “you can untie your eyes, we are out.” I huffed out and stomped towards the sleeping cabins. The guy is just too annoying.

“Hey! You haven’t told me where I’m heading to next!” He shouted after me. I whirled around to face him, pushing my hood back so he would she my glare.

“Well Mr. Strong and Mighty, why don’t you figure that out yourself!”

“Remember I am paying you for your service, now be a good servant and tell your master where next he is taking this ship to.” He had a very taunting smirk on, he was intentionally frustrating me.

“Well sorry master, but I have a strong memory lost so do it yourself,” I threw the map into the air. “Goodnight!”

“Come back here you little…” I slammed the door loudly. Arrogant bastard. I had just made it to my room when he appeared behind me. “You are pushing me, don’t challenge me!”

“You ungrateful imp! You don’t get to talk to me the way you like, I helped you back there!”

“I didn’t ask for your help!” He screamed into my face. “I was just fine with my hallucination before you came and ruined it!”

“Seriously!” I shouted incredulously, throwing my hands up in exasperation. “That wasn’t what you said when you let me cover your eyes! I don’t even know why you are acting up over nothing!”

“Who stated yelling first, you or me?” He sneered. I opened my mouth to scream again, but I knew it was for waste.

“You know what, fine! The next course is Sirens Bay, let’s see you overcome that because I won’t save your sorry butt!”

“Do not insult me mortal!” He barked out, one that made me scream and fall on the floor. My heart literally jumped to my mouth, he briefly showed me his full monstrous face. I placed my hand on my chest as I gasped for breath, he almost gave me a heart attack. “I will not be patronised by a frail being of your kind!”

“My kind, my kind, my kind, can your head ever construct anything else to say?” I couldn’t believe I was still talking. I was usually the less talking type but my spirit refused to be insulted by a mere vampire.

He stared at me in stupefaction, I still had mouth to speak after seeing his face. “This mere fragile human is the one leading you to what your pitiful kind could never find and even if found, can’t get it. You need this weak human or you ain’t getting anything!”

He threw his head back and laughed humorlessly, “is that why you are so confident? Because you really believe I need you? You already brought out the true map, what do I need you for?”

“Oh really? Fine then,” I folded my arms stubbornly. “You are on your own from now on, get yourself there and if my sister’s wish, they can help you. Now leave the room of the human.” I commanded. He rolled his eyes over my body and sneered once more.

    “Humans are so pathetic,”

“And vampires are hopeless lost souls,”

“You’ll regret your actions soon enough.” And with that, he was gone in a flicker. I scoffed loudly.

Let’s see you get through without my help.

“Set course for Siren Bay!” I heard him shout at the upper deck. Claudia and Kassandra walked in, they looked amused beyond doubt.

“Wow Suz, I can’t believe he is getting under your skin,” Sandra said amusedly.

“Please, don’t even start. That guy is both annoying and stupid!” I yelled at the top of my voice so he could hear me. “You hear that you blood sucking demon! You are stupid!!!”

“Calm down Suzanne, I have never seen you like this before, what’s up?” Claudia asked with the same amusement as she rubbed my shoulder.

Why was I even severely pissed? I breathe out to calm myself down. “I don’t know what is wrong with me, I act erratically around him.”

“Do you think that maybe – just thinking aloud here – you are his mate?” Sandra asked nervously, “it can be.” We all exchanged look, right before we burst into laughter.

“Nay,” we laughed. Mate? Mermaids don’t have mates and vampires rarely have mates as well.

    Rarely, but not impossible.

Shut up subconscious, he is not my mate. I’m not even an ordinary mermaid, remember?

“I’m just going to get my legs soaked, I’m exhausted,” I spoke out to avoid any further disturbing conversation.

“Suzanne, I think Captain Leadbeard is planning something,” Claudia chipped in. “I overheard him saying something to his first mate. I’m not sure, but I think we should be careful.”

    “I know,” I smiled. A pirate is a pirate.

    ~

    ~

    ~

I was floating in the sea, my beautiful tail making my swim a natural comfort. This was where I belonged, this was my home. “Ocean,” a voice called musically, that voice I knew so well. I sat on the water, the water acted like a chair for me. “Ocean…”

I looked on over the ocean, like my eyes had microscopic zoom to see anything at any end of the world. There he was, standing on shore and glittering like the star. He held out his hand to me, calling me out to come into his embrace. With one thrash of my tail, I found myself at the edge of the sea. I swam closer to shore where he was waiting for me, smiling with open arms. My tail morphed into two limbs, two slender legs to walk to him.

“Ocean,” he called out again, taking my dainty hand in his. His voice was like an ocean whisper, like a soft evening breeze. He pulled me into his arms and stared into my eyes with so much love and contentment. He was contended with me, contended with having just me and me alone. “Ocean,” he called again, our lip only an inch apart.

“Ocean! Wake up you idiot!” My eyes snapped open, I had been awaken from my sleep. The subject of my beautiful sleep stood at the foot of the bed, shoving my foot harshly with an impatient look. I glared at him through the curtain of my hair, grouched and turned onto my side and buried my face in the pillow, tearing my foot away from his grasp.

“Leave me alone,” I mumbled sleepily, to which the fool yanked my foot rougher. I jolted around with a twist, the content of my stomach swishing because of the sudden motion. “Get lost.”

“I need you up deck, wake up!”

“Ten more minutes,” I murmured huffily. He yanked the cover off me, giving the wind authority to pierce my skin. I huffed in annoyance and blew out some of the hair from my eyes. I pushed myself onto my knees and hands and looked at him over my shoulder. I knew he couldn’t see my face, my hair shielded my face properly.

    “What do you want?”

“Something is wrong with the map, I need you to check what’s wrong.”

“I thought you didn’t need the puny enervated human,” I mocked.

“This is hurting my pride, don’t anger me more and stop shoving your ass in my f…” I fell on the bed with a puff. Snuggling back in bed. “Oh come on!”

“Leave me alone, you can’t make me wake up when I don’t want to.”

“Shocker,” he said sardonically and before I knew it, his strong hand yanked me onto his shoulder.

“Hey! Put me down!” He roughly bounced me and headed out to the upper deck. “I demand you put me down! I do not deserve such! My face is exposed!”

“I’m sure the bush you call a hair will protect you,”

“Er, rude!” I shrieked. “young man, put me down! I am a lady!”

“Yeah right,” he climbed onto the poop deck and tossed me on the floor. My ass collided with the floor. I can swear something cracked. I covered my face frantically, using my hair as a shield. “Now, where to?” He asked bossily. He threw the map on my laps.

“If you knew any better, you would know that only the mouth who freed it can see it,” I stuck my tongue out to him, foolish move. I got hair in my mouth. “See? You need me.” I said conceitedly, spitting out my hair.

“Fine, tell us which of the Sirens Bay we are heading to? Siren Bay East, or West?”

“Siren Bay Hades,” I said gigglingly.

    “Ocean!”

“I’m not saying until you apologise for being mean,” I said defiantly, folding my arms to exaggerate my point.

“Claudia!” Finn yelled. My eyes widened, he knows her name?

“He guessed,” Claudia chuckled, “and sister, stop playing hard to get and…”

“No, he has to apologise and promise to be nice to me from now on.”

“Ever heard of over your dead body?” He sneered.

“Very well then, let’s keep wandering the ocean, it’ll be fun.”

“Lad, just apologise to the nice lassie,” I nodded in agreement to Captain Leadbeard’s words. Finn ran his fingers through his hair, babbling to himself in a mutter.

“Okay, sorry,” he bellowed out harshly.

“I’m sorry, is that how your mother taught you to apologise?” Sandra asked drily.

“She didn’t teach me how to, but she did teach me how to twist annoying girl’s necks, starting with yours.” Sandra sealed her lips immediately, she was afraid of him.

“Guess what jerk, I’m not afraid of you so I am not shutting up anytime soon. Now let’s try it again, what did you say?”

If eyes could kill, consider me a dead girl. His glare was so intense the crew and captain stepped back. I threw my head to the side stubbornly, showing him that I meant business. He sighed heavily, defeated sigh. “Fine, I’m sorry for what I said yesterday.”

“Is that it?” I asked sneeringly.

“And I promise to be less aggressive and arrogant until I find an opportunity to murder you.”

“Tut Tut Tut, not good enough mister, try that again,”

“And I won’t insult your being, better?” He snarled impatiently.

“I will manage that, just because I pity you,” his hands balled into fists, I was playing with fire. “Now help your queen up and do it gently, like a gentleman,” I demanded coolly. The crew members laughed.

“I swear, after all of this, I’ll kill you myself,” he grouched as he pulled me up gently.

“Until then sweetheart,” I said smilingly, patting his cheek. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it aggressively. I whimpered in pain and yanked my hand away. “You are to head to Sirens Heart…”

“Sirens Heart!” They all exclaimed in shock.

“Whoa, whoa whoa! No one said anything about Sirens Heart! That’s the motherland of sirens!” That was Claudia.

“If you don’t want to go you can all throw yourselves overboard, we are going and that’s final.”

“Confident, confident,” I said whimsically, “I like that. Let’s just hope your confidence is enough to survive the calls of the sirens, you are all seafood.” I laughed. I headed back below deck, letting my mock laughter haunt them.

“And Finn, you look terrible in that pantaloon!” I shouted after me. Everyone laughed again.

“Again, not a pantaloon!!!” He thundered.

Did I say stay away from him? I meant never stop pestering him.

    •••••••••••• Narrative •••••••••••••

Red cape floating behind him, red silk whipping in the air, swirling around his ankles in a glorious air dance and back to the ground in a graceful floor sweep. His heavy angry face and huffy breath echoed in the quiet hallway. The hallway was decorated with the best of most: portraits of Kings and queens, princes and princesses, and all those noble, royal bloodlines. Pottery works of ancient making, sculptures of the most skilled hands, and wall painting of rose gold. Soldiers with everlasting warrior gene running through their veins stood at each side of the walls, dressed in their glorious attire of black and grey cape of magic conjuring.

King Finn moved like an angry wind, muttering to himself as he made his way to his throne room. How ironic it was for him to be summoned to his own throne room. An insult to a vampire King equal to none. But for the sake of the peace he was sent down to hold, he had to tolerate it. The two soldiers at the black double doors opened it quickly, before their king would fling them away. His anger could be perceived from miles, the redness of his eyes announcing his annoyance and utter displeasure. The mutters of his mouth struck fear into their hearts, Finn was not a being to mess with.

Stomping into the throne room, he sneered at the two elves standing there patiently. “Greetings sire,” the first one with pale white hair greeted, bowing his head low. “Sorry to have disturbed you but the matter at hand is very import…” Finn raised his hand, shutting him up instantly. He quietly walked to his throne, whipped his cape aside and sat down. The two elves and his royal advisor watched him carefully, every single move he made looked like a deadly threat to them.

“Now, why are you here?” Light, his voice was light but filled with so much authority.

“The Human Safety Agency sent us,” the one with light brown hair stuttered because of the death glare he assumed Finn was throwing at him.

“I believe I’m not dumb, I can tell,” he spat venomously.

“I’m sorry if we disturb you in anyways, but they thought that is was right to bring a pressing new discovery to your knowledge, something to do with your vampires.” The white haired explained as boldly as he could, he was scared out of his wit.

“What is it about my vampires that I don’t know?” Finned scoffed mirthlessly.

“Blood bath inns have been running in the human dimension, one older than the other,” they paused, waiting for him to speak.

“Impossible,” Casmir, his royal advisor protested. “no one can dare open such inns after the king himself made it illegal…”

“Silence,” Finn snapped, ” don’t elevate me when you are aware that it is impossible for me to know it all. I told you to place watchers at every possible corner of the world in case of rebels, so how am I not aware? Doesn’t mean that this is your failure?”

“I…I…I…” Casmir bowed his head, unable to speak further.

“Now, tell me everything I need to know,” he sighed, tired of the conversation. He had two ladies waiting for him at his chamber. And he rather be there than here.

“The three inns are owned by one person but controlled by two extra managers. The inns belongs to Lord Craig, a two thousand years old vampire. The first inn is run by him, been running for six months now. The second is run by Lord Bancroft’s daughter, Lady Rosalind, been active for four months. And the last is run by Ellian Truce, active for three months. The total number of human lives lost to this activity is eighty five.”

“Lord Bancroft’s daughter, right?” I asked with a dark chuckle. That girl likes daring me, just because we once had a thing.

“Yes sire, and this file contains everything you need to know about them, their locations and the names of all the employees and vampires visiting the inns. The agency hope it would sorted out before anymore lives will be claimed.”

“Or before… Alpha Kale finds…” The brown haired coughed nervously. “Before Alpha Kale finds out that…” Finn stood up immediately, the mention of that name meant trouble and all knew that. He knew how jokeless the ruthless alpha was. All he cared about was protecting his kind and making sure the unknown creature killing them is found.

Finn was powerful, that he knew. But he also knew that even though he was older, the alpha in question was equally as powerful as he was. Never in his six hundred and thirty three years life had he faced a force like the mysterious alpha. “What is this about Alpha Kale?” He asked coolly with one brow raised.

“Though the council haven’t told him yet, five werewolves were murdered when they came across these inns. He was told that the creatures killed them but…”

“Are they from his pack?” He couldn’t help the sudden skip of his heart, he really didn’t have strength for any war right now, not after the incident with Alva. The last thing he needed was an angry werewolf bursting in to yell at his face or smash his head against his throne. Don’t annoy the alpha with a terrible anger, one immune to silver. He found that out the hard way.

“Only one is, the others aren’t,” Finn breathe out in relief. “Alpha Carlyle assured us that his friend would never find out if only you can take care of this.”

“Tell the council that this problem would be handled soonest,” Finn concluded, leaving no room for more talks.

“Thank you sire,” they bowed. The white haired passed the blue file to Casmir before they both disappeared into white and blue dust.

“Casmir,’ Finn growled, causing his heart to accelerate as a new wave of fear took over. “where are the inns located?” He barked. Casmir tremulously opened the file and swept his eyes through the information.

“The main inn is located in Sarunn district on Mego Island, while the other is spread out in the upper and lower side of Barcelona.”

“You and Axel would go to Barcelona with the squads, I want the managers brought back alive and all the employees dead. Every single vam that visits these inns should be either brought dead or alive. If they try to resist, kill them, including Lady Rosalind.”

“And the main one? We would have to board a ship to get to Mego Island, and Lord Craig is a powerful one.” Casmir pointed out with destress. He couldn’t fight an old Lord as strong as Craig, maybe Axel could but the victory wasn’t guaranteed.

“Hmm,” Finn grumbled, he knew what it meant. For the first time since a century, he was going to leave his castle for a stupid old vampire.

    Craig would regret it.

    Claudia’s standpoint

I looked behind me to check if they were catching up on us. The men were hot on our trail, pursuing us like their money depended on it. Well, literally, it did, since we robbed them.

“This way!” Kassandra shouted. Kassandra was my younger sister, a small but very fast girl. I’m sure you are wondering who we are. A simple introduction then.

My name is Claudia Wolf, twenty nine years old beauty – if I do say so myself – and the eldest amongst my sister. According to dad, our ancestors were best praised for their great tracking skills and unity, like a wolf pack. That was where the name came from. So, my father was an hunter and a merchant before he died at sea. Two years later, my mother who was a sailor died at the hands of pirate, leaving their five daughters to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, two died out of starvation because somebody had to claim our properties and throw us into the streets. That was when I knew we had to do anything to survive, including using our skills to get what we want. I was seventeen then.

What are our skills? I was a heck of a fighter, could swing a perfect punch with my eyes close and fight with swords like they are a part of me. I was taking lessons from our chief bodyguard before everything went south. So with a little more self training and of course, hiding in a warrior school to learn more, I learnt how to fight well. Even taught my siblings some cool moves to defend themselves. As the eldest, it was my duty to worry and find out new places to rob but not my duty think. I am a terrible thinker. I can do what one say but never be the one to make the plan. That job belonged to the youngest among us, Suzanne. She was just a year younger than Kassandra.

Suzanne was taller, more beautiful and well, odd. She was our strategizer, analyzer and all those thinking stuff. She was also our emergency escape and temptress. Very manipulative and could seduce any information out of one’s mouth. Very handy I say. She wasn’t as good at fighting as Kassandra, but she was a great archer and fan fighter. Kassandra is our professional thief. She is so good at snatching things that she is capable of stealing your ears and you won’t know. That’s how good she is. The other thing about her is her speed, that girl can be compared to a cheetah. She also had agility to her list of skills making her the perfect mini thief. Kassandra was twenty seven and Suzanne twenty six.

Together, we were The Wind. At least that’s what Sandra calls it.

Now, back to where we were. Sandra led the way to where she knew. She’s good at navigating… “Crap!” I exclaimed, she led us to the edge of the cliff. Well, not that good at navigating but hey, we can’t all be great. She’s a tracker while Suzanne navigates.

The men chuckled darkly as they drawled closer to us, smirking and waving their swords. Sandra gulped, turning around to face them. “nowhere to go little thieves,” one said chucklingly. I smirked and cocked my hips.

“Oh really?” I looked at the drop over my shoulder. “When things get tight,”

“Look on to our emergency escape,” Sandra completed.

“What are you talking about? Just get these witches!”

I clasped Sandra’s hand against mine and smirked again. “catch us if you can boys,” I sent them a wink, right before we fell backwards, falling down the cliff.

“They are crazy!” I heard them yell before we splashed into the water, the cold liquid piercing our skins. Sure, it was dangerous to jump into the cursed sea surrounding our island, not when they were wild creatures waiting to eat you the moment you land. But we weren’t scared, we had a secret weapon.

I looked beyond the water, holding my breath and whipping my hands and legs so I won’t drown. I could see her coming, her hair had taken on it glowing golden brown form with electric purple dust shimmering on the surface of her hair, flowing to the tip of her hair and floating into the water, leaving a bright light behind her. Her whole body gushed out the same purple dust, her scales shimmering like a moonlight crystal. She was beautiful even with her scales cupping her shimmering scaly face. The scales on her face looked like diamonds, pretty silver diamonds. Her pink gills at the sides of her neck flapped open and close, I could see it because I was use to seeing it.

She swam closer to us, no tail but her legs were filled with scales that made them look like crystallising diamonds. I rolled my eyes away when it came across the crevasse of her breasts, she took off her dress and left herself in her inner garment.

“Hey sisters,” she giggled, I glared at her to get us out of here before we die of lack of oxygen. She ran her tongue over her orchid purple lips before taking our hands. Her sea blue eyes turned pink, the pink extending to her scaly hands and transferring to us, giving us the ability to breathe under water too. Well, as long as she was holding us. “That’s more like it,” she smiled. We couldn’t talk like her, but at least we could breathe. “Did you get the gem?” Sandra raised the bag to show her. “Perfect, let’s go, mission accomplished.”

And with that, she pulled us along with her, swimming with a speed no human could conquer. I won’t call us thieves, we were just three girls who get paid to collect items for special clients, girls who never failed, girls who needed to survive. I guess that makes us survivors. And we were just fine the way we were.
